In the relatively isolated Elysian Fields on the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy, a cluster of stars overlooked for many years, exist a handfull of planets inhabited by the Clans, the descendants of an exodus made many years in the past. These Clans, formed by the son of General Aleksander Kerensky, Nicholas Kerensky, formed a tenuous alliance held together by common theology and practices.
Ghost Bear...
Wolf...
Jade Falcon...
Nova Cat...
Star Adder...
These five Clans, the final remnants of the Clans, had existed in peace within their pocket of space. Silently, they brooded, awaiting the Unification, in which all five Clans would unite and drive into the heart of the Sol System, into Holy Terra itself, and recreate the mighty Star League, the dream of the Kerensky family. This day was far from coming, though. Until then, the Clans had decided that they would hire their services out to the highest bidder, earning money and resources that would fuel their economy for that coming day.
Thus, they created four mercenary 'Mech companies, each specialized in their own form of combat derived from that of the Clans. They were the Twelfth Star Guards, Narhal's Raiders, the Northwind Highlanders, and Wolf's Dragoons.
-The Twelfth Star Guards are given their name for the simple reason that their tactics rely on defense and long-range artillery. This mercenary company comprises mostly of 'Mechs within the "Heavy" and "Assault" classes, with most 'Mechs armed with some form of long-range missile launcher. The missiles they fire are immediately blessed upon production, a practice souly employed by those of the Star Adder clan, who produces the highest amount of long-range missiles and their launcher pods.
Commander: Star Colonel Adrian Banacek
-Narhal's Raiders are given their name for their emphasis towards lightning raids against convoys and hit-and-run tactics that they employ on large armies. Comprised of 'Mechs only of the "Light," "Medium," and "Heavy" classes, these fierce warriors of both Clan Jade Falcon and Clan Nova Cat rely mostly on energy weapons and short-range missiles, using both to their advantage. The ferocity of these cunning warriors is only matched by the lightning efficient speed at which they operate.
Commander: Star Colonel Arthur Roshak; Star Colonel Amy Winters
-The Northwind Highlanders, as their name suggests, hail from the planet Northwind, one of the homes of the infamous Clan Ghost Bear. These cunning warriors utilize the power of the gauss rifle, a 'Mech weapon considered to be the most powerful weapon in the Clans' arsenal. The Highlanders utilize these weapons efficiently, making use of their long range to act as snipers. The Highlanders use every class of 'Mech, although most of their warriors lean towards using "Medium" and "Heavy" 'Mechs. However, should the need arise, the assassins of Ghost Bear that are employed in this mercenary unit will gladly offer their services, but only at a much higher price than normal.
Commander: Star Colonel Matthias Devon
-The Wolf's Dragoons obviously get their name from their parent Clan, Clan Wolf. These brutal warriors owe their success to the savagery attributed to Clan Wolf, utilizing all 'Mech classes to achieve their goals and utilizing all 'Mech weapons within the Clans' arsenal. Wolf's Dragoons never back down in a fight, choosing to fight to the death when cornered even at the cost of victory. The brutally savage warriors are the most pronounced of the mercenary units offered by the Clans, and are always recommended to those who are in need of a large army in a relatively short amount of time.
