Secret IC: General-Secretary Dacha, Ariga, Totalitarian State of Red Tide

Vyacheslav Gromkyo yawned, it was one in the morning in Ariga, yet Narmonov had still insisted that the Council of Ministers meet at his Dacha. That was typical of Narmonov, he worked and summoned at odd times so those that worked under him... had to adjust.

Narmonov walked in from a side door, puffing on the pipe that looked like it belonged in the hands of Joseph Stalin. Indeed, Narmonov shared alot of Stalins habits. But he disliked being referred to as Stalinist. If the comparison was ever brought up, he would frown, say 'I am not a Bolshevik', and then have the individual who noted it liquidated.

Narmonov quietly walked up to his position and began to shuffle through some papers until he found the right one.

"Minister Gromkyo... are you familiar with the Principality of Fordock?" Narmonov asked.

That was not a question Gromkyo had expected, he had seen a few reports about some small nation called that making bombastic remarks against nations several dozen times its size, but hadnt really read into them. So Gromkyo answered truthfully.

"I have heard of them, but am not familiar with them."

Narmonov just waved his hand dismissively, "I suspected as much. They are a decadent bolshevik upstart nation that thinks it can throw its weight around."

Gromkyo hadnt known what was coming, but now he knew. 'Thinks it can throw its weight around.' was a term Narmonov often used when he was thinking of...

"Minister Murmansk," Narmonov said, turning to the Defense Minister, "I presume you brought the plans?"

"Da, General-Secretary!" The Defense Minister answered, before passing a tied up folder over to Narmonov.

Narmonov unfolded it, displaying a map of the nation being discussed... with red arrows on it.

"Gathered Ministers," He began, "We will invade and occupy the Principality of Fordock."

Gromkyo's facial expression didnt change. He knew it was coming, so... he nodded.

Open IC: A few days later, a few miles into Red Tidean National Waters

Rear-Admiral Bubanitov Sergei Alvensi was proud of his command... that being the Raven-Class SuperdreadnoughtH-8 and its assorted escorts. Also under his command was a naval transport convoy that was trailing the 8th Dreadnought Battlegroup. That convoy held the 9th Field Army.

Admiral Bubanitov looked over his officers, it was time... the ships course would not become obvious for a little while longer... but eventually it would be discovered that this ship, and the transport convoy behind it, was heading straight for a coastal city in Fordock.

OOC - Ah good I had some new toys I wanted to test out. Also I'm going to assume Bolshevik is propaganda as we are socialist. Alright check our Wiki page to get a map. The capital in the SW is Sumetra, the main port on the west side of the peninsula is Meshkrat, the port on the east side of the peninsula is Toma, the black mark is a military line from ancient history still manned but modernized, the northern settlement is Nobar, and the settlement in the Far NE is Eok. Note these are only major cities obviously there are minor towns and the like not pictured. BTW I can't post IC because the attack hasn't been made yet. I don't have much of a navy yet just a few patrol boats. Just beware we will resist. So in short I accept. Oh by the way Kirav is my ally so this isn't going to be as easy as you thought most likely.

OOC:...What? I have nothing OOCly against Fordock, I actually like that he actually learns from previous RPing mistakes.

I just got bored and threw a random peg at a democracy that has recently been quite active for me to invade. If Fordock doesnt want me to invade, Ill consider his request, his reasons, and leave him alone if I find them to be okay.

The thing is, I have been DYING to invade someone recently, because I RP a militaristic, totalitarian dictatorship whose economy is centered around the production of war goods.

So it really isnt for any OOC reason, or even IC reason beyond 'Keep-the-economy-going'.

EDIT: Oh, Fordocks arrived.

Anyways, Ill check your map again, I didnt really see a black line on it, so Ill look harder.

And yes, Bolshevik is something that my nation likes to label anything it views as remotely communistic/socialistic.

IC reply coming after I finish gathering info.

Imperial Palace, Vetalia City

"Well, Praetor, what have you to report?"
"Your highness, we have reports of Red Tidean ships on the move...and, of course, that can mean only one thing: war."
"They're not headed our way, of course."
"No, no, not even in the right direction for that. Our guess is it's one of their more recent enemies."
"Fordock?"
"I cannot say, Emperor. That would be up to them to confirm."
"I think it is likely they will enlighten us if we ask. After all, our countries may have mutual interest in a situation like this."
"The forms will be prepared, Emperor."
"Good, Praetor. Send word to them that I wish to discuss the matter more closely."

With that, Praetor Kosygin drafted a request for a teleconference between the Emperor and the General Secretary to discuss what exactly was going on. If war was afoot, it would be wise for Vetalia to position itself in a way to receive the greatest net benefit from the conflict. Given the economic situation in Red Tide, the Vetalian government had a weapon above and beyond its own armed forces should a greater conflict arise.

IC: Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Gromkyo waited apprehensively for Narmonov to finish going over the report he held in his hand. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Narmonov looked up and said.

"What do you recommend, Vyacheslav Mikhailovich?" Narmonov asked.

A simple 'Do it' or 'Dont do it' would have sufficed most other men, Narmonov, however, was not like most other men.

"I do not see any harm in doing so, Basvorich Ivanov, the Vetelians interest in the coming conflict will most likely be economical." So, Gromkyo didnt point out, was Red Tides. "They may request a hand in rebuilding, utilisation of some of the lands resources, and the running of some factories there. That is all fine. They dont even know for sure if who we are attacking or if this is just some wargame. I say, have the teleconference, there cannot be any harm."

Narmonov gave a sly look at Gromkyo, then nodded and said, "Very well."

As Gromkyo left Narmonov's office, he passed Defense Minister Murmansk, the two nodded to each other. Murmansk was probably going to ask Narmonov about Fordockian sattelites... did the Fordockians have sattelites? Something that was going to be needed to be found out."

The Emperor appeared on the screen, dressed in nothing more than a fine business suit, looking more a businessman than the ruler of the nation of Vetalia. The office was elaborate, but the only sign of royalty was a map of Vetalia boasting the crest of House Kosyachenko and the rich marble and wood styling characteristic of Vetalian interior design. Behind him stood a few officers of the armed forces and the Proconsul of State, the only sign that it was a meeting between two heads of state.

Speaking solely in Russian, the mutual language of both states, he addressed the Red Tideans.

"Greetings, General Secretary Basvorich Ivanov. I can see you are a man of little patience for pleasantries, and I'm the same way. So, I'll cut straight to the point: we've observed movement by your forces and we know it can mean only one of two things: wargames or war. Given the size of the fleet, of course, it's likely to be war, and since it's likely to be war we want to know with whom, mainly for our own interest but also for sizing up the prospects...

"...and, as you've already guessed, how we can be of help. Our country is interested in aiding you in this endeavor in exchange for economic opportunities in whomever you are targeting, perhaps even purchasing a small enclave for our use. To this end, we can provide significant economic aid to your country as well as funds for postwar administration of the territory. Our rubles are hard currency and will go far towards supporting your military and reinvigorating the economy behind it.

All you must do is give us an idea of what is needed, and what your propose in return for our aid. We have the resources to make this war completely beneficial to both of us, and to expand the ability of your country's economy to produce war goods for future actions."

Greetings, General Secretary Vyacheslav Mikhailovich.

OOC: Actually, Vyacheslav is the Foreign Minister, Its Basvorich Ivanov Narmonov(I am oh-so-terrible with Russian names) who is the General Secretary.

IC: The Emporer and his staff would only see Narmonov and the bullet-proof window that displayed the city of Ariga from his office. The camera was positioned that way to give as little information as possible. Narmonov was dressed in the ceremonial uniform that he preferred to wear at parades and when appearing in public... meetings like this one counting as 'public' mind you.

It was black, had blood red colored shoulder pads, with a single medal with the words 'GS-TSRT' engraved in bronze pinned to it. It couldnt really be considered 'extravagent', but it was far above what most normal people in most countries wore.

Narmonov himself was of middle height, and a bit on the thin side.

"I am guessing then there is no need to avoid telling you," Narmonov said, "this force is for war, specifically the Principality of Fordock. We have decided to reign this nation in. We have dispatched a Field Army, a total of 525,000 men, along with, as you most likely already know, a Dreadnought Battelgroup."

"We would most welcome the economic aide in reconstruction of Fordock, we are still doing estimations on how much will be needed for reconstruction, but early estimates are saying a billion at the minimuim, perhaps 200 billion at the most."

"Our economy is another issue, we would be more then happy in expanding the importation of consumer goods with your nation and, although we suspect Tech-Com* wont like it, opening our economy to investment by your companies more."

"In return, we offer you a free hand in investment in the new Fordock we are planning, as well as as a division of resources and perhaps discounts on our exports of strategic minerals**."

OOC: *Tech-Com=Tech-Com Corporation, the major corporation in Red Tide and the ones responsible for the vast majority of Red Tides industrialisation.

The Emperor retained his steady gaze, but the eyes of the Proconsul widened briefly when he heard the Red Tidean proposal. Opening the Red Tide market to consumer goods would produce untold economic growth, especially given the huge buildup of savings undoubtedly incurred by the country's industrial policies. And to think of all the economic benefits of Red Tidean raw materials, and investments in Fordock...

Naturally, the Emperor's response was predictable. "Excellent. An attack on Fordock is remarkably in line with our own interests in the region, and we would be happy to provide any assistance you need in regard to this campaign.

And, in regard to the economic concessions, we are sold. Your proposal is more than satisfactory and we will be able to provide the necessary funds for the reconstruction of Fordock, enabling our nations to benefit from this situation considerably. Our companies are extremely interested in your market, and we can assure you that it will massively benefit your war economy if our country can provide consumer goods and other services limited by this focus."

"If there is nothing else, I can have the Proconsul draw up the formal agreements and your country can proceed with its war on Fordock. If needed, our forces are available but we feel your troops will be more than able to handle this problem."

The Emperor of New Basilica has made the decision to support you in the war against Red Tide 2. "New intel," a technician said, striding into the dimly lit room. "Intercepted transmissions indicate that the Principality of Fordock and the Holy Empire of New Basilica have aligned and consider Red Tide's movements the motions of war." Ministers from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security, Labor and Commerce, and Social Development sat around a table, with Prime Minister Richard Whitney at the head. The technician handed a pamphlet to each minister and quickly left.

"Support a Communist nation!" Vincent Sutton repeated, tossing the pamphlet onto the table in front of him.

"Mr. Sutton, while I appreciate your concern and your zeal regarding this issue – I mean, Hell, you probably wouldn't be the Minister of Labor and Commerce if you were different – but the fact that Red Tide is a communist nation is a moot point," James Broadmoor, the Minister of Defense and National Security, explained. "They are either attacking Fordock, in which case we ally with them, or Fordock is a nation run by paranoid leaders who jump at anything that moves, in which case we must remove them from the Far Echo Islands before they jump at our allies there first. We have materiel in the Far Echo Islands theatre that has been waiting for this moment. It just makes sense."

Vincent leaned back in his chair, silent, but glowering at James.

"Okay, gentlemen, I've heard enough. Mr. Sutton, place an embargo on the Principality of Fordock. Mr. Roussimoff, prepare a message to the Coalition of Allied Powers, Red Tide, and the Far Echo Islands. Once we hear back from Akimonad and the Far Echo Islands, Mr. Broadmoor, I want you to give our soldiers permission to proceed to take action against Fordock there. The Federation of Caelapes is at war."

OOC: Its a mistake everybody seems to make, but the TSRT is not Communist. Its has no precise ideology, so defining what it is in any ideological terms is difficult. It is most definantly a Totalitarian(IE: Police) State, but it is virulently anti-communist and anti-fascist.

Oh, and TRBI, I would like it if you do not get involved in this thread. Please, we dont need any arguements breaking out.

IC:The Meeting...

Narmonov gave a long nod. "Very well, I will direct my foreign minister to sign any treaty proving as such agreed here. It has been a... pleasure talking to you."

And with that, the meeting ended.

The Fleet

The 8th Battlegroups course was now obvious, unless it changed course, it was heading for the Fordockian Port City of Meshkrat. As it reached 600 kilometers from Fordocks territorial waters, it sent a single signal home that said the following:

[i]"Initiate, Initiate, Initiate."[/i}

34th Space Warfare Regiment

INCOMING MESSAGE!

INITAITE COUNTERMEASURES AGAINST ALL FORDOCKIAN SATTELITES!

LAUNCH AUTHORISATION CODE: ***-***-***-***

The message was printed out and handed to the regimental colonel. The 34th was not actually in space, it was instead a ground based mobile missile launcher system that was armed with R-95C Anti-Sattelite Missiles.(OOC: Stats for R-95: http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showtopic=185&hl=)

The 34th was also working with the 35th and 36th Space Warfare Regiments, armed the same way. The mobile missiles straightened upwards, in a plume of smoke the Silencer missiles streaked skywards, carrying their thirty-two anti-sattelite kinetic kill missiles. All three regiments would empty their fifty launchers into the sky.

Fordocks sattelites were going to fall.

You are fools and swine. We were in CAP territory to protect what is now a Non-existent nation. And if you had bothered to check satellite footage (assuming you had advanced to that point though it is doubtable) you would have seen our forces withdrawing. We do not wish any harm to come to the Fordockian people, and our only goal is the removal of Fordockian forces from the territory of Akimonad, a friend and ally of Snefaldia.

Your rhetoric and escalating tone is neither helpful nor advantageous. Threats against a single CAP member are considered threats against all CAP members- our warnings to avoid conflict should be taken to heart, as it is the most prudent course of action for your nation.

Again, we ask that you stand down from the belligerent stance you have against the holdings of Akimonad in the Far Echo Islands, and demand the removal of troops from that territory. Should you comply with these requests, no harm will come to you from the armed forces of Snefaldia, and we will do our utmost to prevent concerted CAP action from harming your nation.

Since they don't have matter-injected ion engines like the new ones, they're pretty slow in space and often have to be towed by another craft for long distance travel. However, they kick ass in the atmosphere.)

My forces are entering the region. We are sending gunships to transport your warriors, and whatever armored units we are able to carry with our systems. They will be escorted by Toori Flamberge interceptors. If any nations attempt to engage Toori units, their forces will be diminished.

IC:

War. It has begun. Frozopia waited long enough. It had seen invasion. It had gained freedom. Too weak to do little but hope the rest of the world forgot it existed, Frozopia had bided its time. Patience, patience, patience that was now exhausted. The opportunity had provided itself. The Totalitarian State of Red Tide had made its first mistake many years ago, spawning a wave of hatred among all Frozopians. This would be its second.

"Target all military satellites. Priority is to be given to those nearest Frozopia and Fordock. Do not fire untill ordered. We will strike with one brutal wave of missiles." The sky would be alight with the destruction. The bulk of long collected anti-Satellite missiles would be nigh exhausted in one strike. Orders were flying everywhere in the underground command centre. Efforts had been made that any information leaving the centre was controlled. These efforts would now pay off. There would be no information leaks.

Frozopia would not condemn the Red Tide. They would make no public reaction to the attack. They would strike with the assasins blade, blinding the enemy in one foul stroke. In the darkness to come they would launch a counter strike on the invaders. They would find themselves cut off, isolated, as the Frozopian naval and land forces plucked them from life......

Any ally to the Red Tide would be considered Red Tide. No mercy.

You are fools and swine. We were in CAP territory to protect what is now a Non-existent nation. And if you had bothered to check satellite footage (assuming you had advanced to that point though it is doubtable) you would have seen our forces withdrawing. Much as we like we cannot just have our troops disappear and reappear instantly at will. It takes time and money to move things. What this is though, is a pathetic excuse for a war in which Fordock has committed no wrong nor offense. You may expect resistance.

His Excellency President Kichler;

We are happy that your nation has acted prudently, quickly, and safely in this matter. Taking such a high stance to avoid conflict is admirable, and Snefaldia is happy that hostilities have been averted. The decision of one sovereign nation to submit to another, completely within the bounds of international law, without force, coercion, or invasion, has been upheld and it is testament to the common sense of the Fordockian government that has brought about recognition of that choice.

We wish you luck in any future endeavors, and may peace reign in our two nations.

The Fordockian Troops were on patrol. They had been there and the command had been too damn lazy to take the sand bags down from the Ryou threat. So they sat at the beach playing around and fucking the natives. Wasn't much else to do. They just went. Soldiers were the same anywhere. This was of course just a small and unimportant section of the beach. Why would anybody want to come here. And then the Commander Brigadier General Tyon would call a speech and remind them of the back corridor to their capital. So Fordockian troops manned the beaches. They had begun to pull out as it was thought the security risk was over. How wrong that turned out to be. Well in a perverse way it was right.

The men were waiting around. They didn't know it but forces were advancing upon them. They waited around just sitting unaware of the danger. Until an elite sniper saw one he plugged the head off the son of a bitch and yelled out to the rest of the troops to be alert and they took cover their bodies tensed ready to spring at any second.

Fordockian satellites were reporting a fleet coming in. At least why they were there. They were there. Then there was a beep a red light and some static. Well not much they could do there. Apparently something had destroyed all the Fordockian satellites. Missiles was the obvious choice. Well it was war and this happened. Fordock's Navy was being built and probably soon to be raised. The call was made to set up extra strong Defense in Meshkrat and have the cannons production focused on. The ships they were on may be unavailable but if the cannons worked they could avoid Shore bombardment.

Al-Maryut Naval Yards

Black and gold banners flew in the stiff morning breeze, over vast shipyards stretching for miles, over scores of piers and quays stretching out into the sea, drydocks large enough for supercarriers and super-dreadnoughts dotting the coast, and seemingly endless hardened submarine pens. Al-Maryut was the core of Manthian naval power, home to the First Fleet, the Second Fleet, the Naval Reserve, and many other vessels coming in and out as military circumstances dictated. Under its vast SAM and antishipping missile networks, Al-Maryut had survived all attacks thrown at it - even a nuclear strike during the First Baltic War had only temporarily slowed down operations. In peacetime, the battleships and dreadnoughts docked here drew regular visits from civilians and tourists alike. Even in an age where warfare was more often carried out by carrier, by satellite, and by supersonic missiles that could send the mightiest of ships to the bottom with but one lucky strike, there was something about the battleship, with its graceful lines, its deadly guns, its formidable armor and menacing superstructure towering high above the waves, that stirred the military spirit like no other ship could.

Yet these days, the visitors were all gone, and an atmosphere of brooding gloom had settled over the yards, broken only occasionally by sailors or soldiers scurrying this way or that, perhaps a wounded vessel limping back to port under sparse escort, blackened holes blasted in the hulls and superstructures. Al-Maryut was almost empty of ships. With an armada fighting in the Baltic and another sailing towards Hamilay, plus the need to guard the shipping lanes against Northern Baltic vessels and the need to interdict shipping to and from that country, and adding to that operations in Zhyolatska and Halako... it all added up to quite a large strain on the Navy, and Manth was deploying more vessels overseas than at any point in its history.

Still, Vetalia, Manth's neighbor and closest ally, was marching to war. In such a situation, there would be vessels found, and damn the strategic situation, for it would be an insult and a shame to allow them to march alone. Forces had been drawn from the remaining home fleets and especially from the submarine arm which had traditionally taken the dominant role in the Manthian navy. A small surface fleet had been assembled as well, nothing major with the largest vessels being heavy cruisers, leading squadrons of light cruisers and destroyers. Small-sized vessels would even be an advantage in some ways; at least they would be harder to detect and engage than superdreadnoughts and massive armadas, and in modern warfare, where striking first often meant the victory, that was not an advantage to easily pass up.

As the dawn sent glimmers of light skipping over the gentle waves of the Mediterranean, lines of vessels slipped into the sea, disappearing in long ranks into the rising sun. The cargo they carried was death, death for Fordock and death for all who stood by its side.

20 kilometers offshore of Meshkrat harbor, just outside Fordockian territorial waters...

The Rear Admiral in charge of the 8th Battlegroup nodded to the nearby main gun officer. Electronic Intellegince had pinpointed every coastal defense, air defense, and counter-battery RADAR within gun range of the H-08 and her escorting battleships.

"Fire at all available targets within range."

Slowly, slowly, the big 25 inch railguns on the Superdreadnoughts three turrets turned towards the Fordockian mainland. Shells filled with high explosives were slammed into the guns and then:

BOOM!

With a tremendous thunder clap, the first of the number one turrets three guns roared to life. Quickly joined by the other two guns on her turret. The other three turrets also roared to life, joined by the 18" guns on the escorting G-Battleships.

While the Red Tidean Battlegroup shelled the enemy defensive positions in Meshkrat, the invasion transports and their escorts steamed pass, they would wait until they were within 10 kilometers of the shore before deploying the landing craft.

The Frozopian satellites did not take long to pick up the beginnings of the bombardment. A nervous group of army commanders and technicians sat around a table, looking at the images taken by the satellites.

"This is the point of no return. As soon as we innitiate the missile attack on their satelites, war will be imminent. The ships are in patrol, ready for convergance. Are you certain we can do this sir?"

The grey haired general was reading and re-reading his orders, directly from the President himself, before he looked up. Hesitating for a second, he was struck by a forceful memory. A vivid recollection of Red Tide soldiers destroying his home, burning it to the ground as he and his brother fled among their mothers screams. The old general remained resolved.

"Begin the missile strike. Tear their satellites from the sky."

A fluster of activity began once again......

650 Frozopian Sky Spear missiles were launched upwards into the clouds and beyond. Each missile was assigned to destroy communication satellites primarily and large orbital weapons secondarily. Command had eventually reduced the number of missiles to be used in the attack by a significant number. They could not afford to waste all of their anti-satellite missiles in one strike.

Elsewhere the ships that regularly patrolled the vast oceans and seas that made up the world found their routes converging. A Frozopian fleet was gathering. From Frozopia itself a command Dreadnaught and its escort departed for Fordockian territory. Orders were being radio'd in all directions.

In war, Chaos is always the first almost nervous step into conflict. The next step would be destruction......

OOC: You do remember the Brilliant Pebbles... right?

IC: None of the ASATs made it. Although there was some surprise, once the missiles targets were confirmed, there would have been no chance for them. The first ones engine boosters engines hadnt even finished using up its fuel when a pebble sized microsattelite slammed into it at several kilometers a second, several dozen kilometers above the Earth, destroying both it and the missile through sheer kinetic energy. So few missiles didnt have a chance.

More spy sattelites, and a RORSAT(RADAR Oceanic Reconnassiance Sattelite), was tasked for going to Frozopia. If they detected the fleet, it would inevitably be attacked by long-range Naval Interdiction Aircraft.
Frozopia
27-09-2007, 01:31
The Frozopian fleet assembled into the traditional formation, forming a rough circle with the frigates in the outermost section and the Arsenal ships as well as the command dreadnaughts near the centre. Advancing forwards, they recieved information of approaching long range bombers as Frozopian Satellites spotted them leaving the Red Tide zone. Immediatly interceptor planes lifted up above and around the fleet, prepared for the aerial strike.....

"Mission failed."
The missile strike had been a huge failure. A few of the command staff had mentioned the threat of the huge number of satellites whoes roles no one quite understood, but the old General had ignored them.

"We have gained something today. We know what those satellites do. I had suspected this." One of the younger staff spoke.

"I even theoretised it with you Steven." Steven nodded. "We have an armoury crammed with cheap missiles. More are in other military bases. If we hold our key ECM/Explosive warheads back for the moment, and strike with a wave of cheap missiles, we will eventually drain away enemy defences. We needent even use warheads: These satellites pursue a kamikaze way.

"That could work." The old General nodded and turned to the rest of the men and women seated around the table. "Send orders to the other bases. Innitiate more missile attacks. We will keep going and keep going with our mosquitos and then we will send in the bee's."

It was hell on the mainland. A few half strapped together ships managed some counter fire but they were easy to see and would probably be blown to hell and gone soon. Indeed they were. It would have been nice if it was Socialist Day but it wasn't'. So they while there was merry fireworks they weren't appreciated. The Place was being blown to smithereens. Most of the civilian population had retreated back to the center. The Military though still had bases here. All Red Tide did was create more places to take cover. Sure Red Tide could take the area but it would put them through the meat grinder. The 5 legions there (25,000 men (Half Support but they have guns)) Would make sure of it.

Various Red Tidean Airbases, Red Tide Mainland...

The 32nd Airborne Division (20,000 men) had recieved its orders, its men had been briefed and were loaded onto the massive K-10 Cargo Planes. With jet engines screaming, the planes rolled onto their take-off positions and swooped ungainly down the runways.

The 32nd Airborne division was to land in the suburbs and outskirts of Meshkrat to seize major bridges, highway junctions, and airports. The objective was to both deny them to the Fordockians and secure them for use by the Red Tidean main force.

The airborne forces would arrive in six hours.

Meshkrat Harbor/Seaport

Indeed, the Fordockian ships were blasted once they attempted to return fire at the Red Tidean Battlegroup. One lucky shell managed to damage a frigate via near-miss, but in no ways was the damage severe.

The Red Tidean 122mm and 152mm naval DP guns were also capable of pounding the enemy land positions, however, they would hold their fire until called upon. H/K-1 Surface Attack Aircraft armed with High Speed Anti-RADAR Missiles(HARMs) and fuel-air bombs(FABs) lifted off their carriers and began to head towards Meshkrat.

They were well within the SAM umbrella of the Red Tidean Battlegroup, and therefore, in theory, had little to fear from enemy aircraft. The H/K-1s with HARMs were to destroy enemy anti-aircraft weapons, while the H/K-1s with FABs were to await landings and requests to drop their ordanance on concentrated enemy positions. Speaking of which...

The first amphibous landing craft, launched from transports offshore, rolled up to the Meshkrat harbor and began to unload its carriage of men and equipment.

Meatpuppets armed with assault rifles, submachine guns, and rocket launchers stormed ashore, supported by APC-45 Armored Personnel Carriers and, in a few spots, MBT-66 Main Battle Tanks.

He sat in ruble. It was torn steel. It would be a problem later but now it was his best friend. Fuel air bombs had been devastating to troops. It was not that they were able to hit so many as the Fordockian had dug in and were hard to spot as well as mostly being in good enough cover that they wouldn't effect them but it was the horror stories. Seeing a friend run out from cover a living fireball screaming himself to death. Seeing an ally screaming inside cover as he couldn't escape and was burned to death by the heated steel. Seeing comrade crushed by fire weakened structures. It was all an impact unto the morale of the troops. However they went on. (Eh 500 dead and maybe 1500 wounded methinks for casualties.)

He was near the sea. He had spent his days as a boy here. Now the sea was abandoned and the rocky beaches deserted. No one would walk upon them but enemy troops and the crabs. As he looked through his Telescopic sight on his FBAR-01 he suddenly saw a grey speck cross the horizon. It was the first sign of the enemy. He yelled out their positions to his squad mates. Closer they came. Suddenly the ping of the .40 Caliber cartridges left the barrel of FBAR's was heard. The snipers had opened fire. At this point it was only "THE Snipers" who had opened fire. They were considered some of the best snipers in the world. (OOC: My troops use Bolt Action Rifles we would at least have one or two redeeming troops. Notably large Caliber and Good snipers.) Soon the common men would join in. This was of course all behind cover. No use getting your damn head blown up.

As the soldier heard the clicking of bolts as more rounds were loaded in he knew they were going to land. The Soldier sat scared and shivering as he clutched his FBAR. Hopefully the troops with FASM's could hold them off in close quarters and the snipers could retreat back and fire from buildings to constantly harass the enemies. The soldier would never know. As he peeked his head over his little scrap metal trench the enemy opened up and blew it up for him.

Meshkrat Harbor/Seaport

Toori A-10s, EA-10s, and LRI-102s were inbound and loaded. Moments later, they were directly over the Red Tidean ships at 27,000 meters above sea level...

"Omikron flight, maintain cealing of 30,000 meters, commence jamming." The human C.A.G. commanded through the intercomm. of his LRI-102 Flamberge. In the following moment, a large flight of 38 Toori EA-10s (The Toori's modified version of the A-10 Thunderbolt, equipped with electronic warfare, enhanced powerplant, and a new wing design.) assended higher into the night sky.

A minute or two passed by before the leader of the flight of EA-10s responded, "Sir... we jammin'!"

Red Tidean sensors, radar, and communication were being jammed. Their radar screnes were covered in a thick electro-magnetic and photonic fog, and their radio opperators were menaced by a painfully loud, high pitched screetching noise that couldn't stop.

"Affermative. Rest of you, follow me. A-10s, soon as your payloads unloaded, and we're horizontal, commence strafing. Same goes for everyone in a Flamberge, but your main job is to keep bandits off of their ass." responded the CAG in a brash manner.

"Yes sir!"

"Keep moving! Don't let them get a beed on you! A-10s, concentrate first on their SAM's! We can handle them! Your slow, you cant."

"Yes sir."

With that, the entire rest of the flight, consisting of 25 LRI-102s and 40 A-10s, descended verticaly downward upon the Red Tidean fleet. Half way down at 12,500 meters, the A-10s dropped massive numbers of JDAMs, bunker busters, cluster bombs, and Napalm upon the various ships, concentrating on the super dreadnaughts, and anything that looked like a possible aircraft carrier or launcher. As they waited for their weapons to reach their targets, the A-10s unleashed a firestorm of incindiary rounds upon the ships with their GAU-8s. As well, the LRI-102s opened fire with their 40mm armor piercing semi-automatic combustion-assisted gause rifles.

Sumguaia, National Cathedral:

"Well, this is most unwelcome news." The Archbishop George Claxton said as he read a report from Abrahamic League members within the government of the Holy Empire. He looked up at the clergymen around him and continued.

"The nation of Fordrock is under invasion, and several of the Hegemony's enemies are the aggresors. Furthermore, the nation of Fordock has done nothing to deserve this attack and the liberty of their people is at stake. While Lord Sumguy cannot act officialy yet, we are not bound to any government or nation and therefore can. I propose we send whatever we can to aid the Fordockians."

An Imam stood up:
"Why should we send anyone? Our men will be slaughtered!"

"And they would give the Fordrockians more time to evacuate the ctizens of their nation. I am willing to trade the lives of two million AL members for that of five or six million Fordokians, such is our moral duty to sacrifice ourselves and serve our fellow man." The Archbishop smiled, "Besides, I'm sure they will be able to take a few of our enemy's soldiers with them."

The man who had raised the question sat back down, now satisfied. The Archbishop spoke again:

"Prepare to send a force to assist the Fordockians, make sure that all who choose to answer our call know of the likelyhood of death. I shall inform the government of Fordock. This meeting is adjourned."

Each man stood up and left.

"Yes sir."

IC: The Incoming Toori Aircraft

The Toori aircraft were detected before they got within 1200 kilometers of the fleet. The Superdreadnought was equipped with a incredibly powerful Over-The-Horizon RADAR. As the Toori aircraft entered within 120 kilometers(well within Red Tidean SAM range), a radio message was transmitted to them in English.

"Attention unidentified aircraft, this is the 8th Red Tidean Dreadnought Battlegroup if you do not peel away within the next 20 kilometers, we will open fire upon you."

The landings

It took a moment or two in which a few soldiers died before the Red Tideans pinpointed the general location of the Fordockian snipers. Then they did their typical response: they hit it with overwhelming firepower.

The snipers were somewhat out of the regular soldiers assault rifle and machine gun range, but not the heavier weaponry. The APC-45s opened up with a hail of 30mm autocannon rounds, their guns raking the enemy positions with large caliber slugs. The MBT-66s loaded in high explosive fragmentation rounds and launched them out of their 122mm main guns, while infantry 88mm mortars began to lob rounds on their positions.

Finally, the most second most potent weapon Red Tide had in theatre was called in. The battleships and Superdreadnoughts secondary 122 and 152mm artillery guns began to relentlessely shell the Fordockian positions.

As they neared the base, they stepped out of the car, and the three walked up to the gates of the compound.

The Toori air group didn't bother with replying. The CAG knew that the Red Tidean SAMs would be no match for the LRI-102s. They had a modified version of the same Prat and Whitney powerpland as the imfamous SR-71 Blackbird. Though no competition was made to counter these facts, the LRI-102 'Flamberge' held the current world air speed record of Mach 3.7254, even faster than the SR-71 due to its far lighter alloys and armament. However, the A-10s were rather slow, and though very manuverable, could easily be destroyed by any SAM. The CAG commanded the Flamberge flight to take out any missile launching devises detected. They accelerated downward ahead of the A-10s, and began firing upon whatever looked like a SAM launcher with their 40mm gause rifles. (the following happens as posted earlier)

OOC: Not quite.

IC: The Red Tidean didnt have SAM launchers, they stored their missiles inside Vertical Launch Systems. The moment the enemy aircraft past the 80 kilometer mark, their warning sirens went beserk. There were missiles in the air, MDSM-4s and -6s.

The MDSM-4 was the naval version of the MDM-4, a surface controlled, RADAR guided Surface-Air Missile with a range of 180 kilometers. They moved rapidly at mach 4, their solid booster engines eating up the range between them and the enemies.

The MDSM-6 was the naval version of the MDM-6, a smaller InfraRed Guided Missile which also moved at mach 4, but had a range of 150 kilometers. The Red Tideans, in their typical fashion, went for overkill. There were eight missiles per Toori aircraft. A pilot could dodge one or two, maybe three if the aircraft was good and the pilot was trained/skilled enough, but against eight missiles aimed at one plane, things kind of get hopeless real fast.

Meanwhile, the information was sent back to the Red Tidean mainland via secure sattelite radio... things were going to become interesting.

Munce was a sniper. One of the elite unites of a Sniper Platoon. They were issued official FBAR-01's with their 16x scope. However that didn't do shit when round were incoming. It was a charred up mess and when a few wet "Phwaps" were heard he took cover behind a torn piece of metal. It wasn't the best cover but then his training kicked in and he began moving away from his previous position. Like any good sniper he shot about a bullet or 2 and then moved to a new position. So he was still safe behind a large piece of sheet metal.

Then the machine gun caliber bullets started coming in. More of the dreaded "Phwaps" were heard the wet fleshy sound signifying a hit. Men screamed out in pain. Munce pressed himself deeper in cover and helped the others were still alive. Hopefully they had decent cover. Eventually after a few more hits they were all behind good solid cover and had moved around enough they were near impossible to spot.

When the mortars and frag round hit though thing got dicey. The disadvantage though to those types of round were that they were small and couldn't fire at short range. So they Fordockians moved up into low Cover whilst prone.

Then it got worse as the ships opened fire. Rounds came down on their heads and bodies were thrown into the the air. But still the men held as they ran for cover the snipers and the regular troops. Like any good coastal city Meshkrat had its defenses. There were bunkers and from those light counter battery fire was directed and then moved.

The Red Tidean troops were still failing to gain ground though the Fordockians were paying for holding it. By this point the Fordockians had come up with a new way of firing. Utilizing the power of their .40 caliber rifles they would shoot through the metal at weak spots and then role back into cover.

Submarines by the score spread out as they entered Fordockian waters, breaking off into small groups of two or three at most as they silently stalked the depths. Their mission was to sink all hostile shipping in Fordockian waters - whether it be warship, merchant vessel, civilian cruise liner or hospital ship, orders were to send it to the bottom.

The mission would be aided by satellites sitting innocuously high above the earth, officially registered to this television company or that news network... and showing very little on the outside of the complicated surveillance technology hidden within. Just another hunk of HDTV metal passing in its daily orbit... and even if someone had been monitoring the satellites' emissions, all they would have received was garbled electronic junk.

The real work would be done by Denomination of Strategy computers scattered all across North Africa and beyond, mostly not even located inside Manthian borders. A neverending stream of that junk was dutifully decrypted, sorted, prioritized, reincrypted and bounced back into space, where yet more satellites would relay the information to the hunters in the deep. What originated as unintelligible computer-noise would very shortly be resolving itself into beautiful, high definition satellite photographs of the Fordockan coast and surrounding waters, showing Manthian submarine commanders exactly where to direct their vessels to hunt down shipping.

Once that information was in hand, the actual business of tracking down a vessel and destroying it was much easier. All that needed to be done was to get within a few hundred kilometers, confirm the presence of the vessel through passive - never active - sonar, and fire. All this could be done without even bringing the sub near the surface where it would be vulnerable. The only warning targeted vessels would likely receive would be when antishipping missiles burst through the surface of the sea and screamed towards their unlucky vessels. As the attacking sub slipped away into the cold depths, thousands of feet below the surface, the missiles would take over guidance and direct themselves to within a few dozen kilometers of enemy vessels. After that, the Principe III systems would launch their torpedo stages, supercavitating the last leg of the journey to avoid close-in weapons systems and other anti-missile defenses, homing in via a combination of sonar and blue-green ladar.

Meanwhile, still many hundreds of kilometers off Fordockan shores, the Manthian surface task force was approaching the beleaguered country. Admiral Ahmed Hatem gazed out across the choppy waters from the bridge of his Carrenzei-class cruiser, chewing on the end of a cigar. It was getting to be time to let the Red Tidean commanders know he had arrived - though all intelligence had indicated the Fordockans possessed a relatively insignificant navy, he assumed there was some reason they had requested naval forces rather than ground troops, and that there would be enough bloody work to go around.

Another communication bounced up into space, off two satellites, down to North Africa, and then was relayed through a similar process back to the Red Tidean Fleet.

Manthian surface forces will soon arrive. Please send us a tactical update and let us know where we are needed.

OOC: :in response to Fordocks last IC post: You should have more wounded and a small portion of that dead. The 30mm guns on my APCs are more then capable of penetrating any cover your snipers are behind, the 122mm tanks guns even more so, and my artillery is going to be particularly hazardous to any snipers, even those in cover.

IC:
The Landings
While the snipers attempts to knock out Red Tidean heavy armor(the APCs and MBTs) were dismal failures, their attempts to knock out light armor(trucks and Humvee equivalents) were much more successful. For example, in one instance a snipers bullet detonated a munitions truck as it was coming ashore, destroying it and damaging the landing craft it was coming off of.

The Fordockians light artillery fire was unable to hit the big gun ships and their escorts that were staying out at 20 kilometers offshore. They were more successfull in attacking the transports as well as their destroyer and frigate escorts Although the amphibious assault ships and destroyers were well armored against such small guns and mortars, the regular transports and frigates were not so much.

A frigate and two transports were damaged and a number of landing craft sunk before the Red Tideans realised that their enemy Fordockians moving their guns after every shot, thereby preventing effective counterbattery fire. From there, the H/K-1s were ordered to locate enemy guns in the process of moving around and strafe them with their gattling guns. This would probably catch some guns, but definantly not all of them.

About 20 minutes passed at the beach before the Red Tideans began their first major attack from their beachhead. A H/K-1 carrying thermobaric bombs swooped down over the Fordockian positions and released three of the six bombs within 600 meters of each other. The bombs descended a little, then blew apart, releasing their flammable vapors over a 400 meter area. Then secondary detonators ignited the vapors, sucking the oxygen out of the air and creating three massive explosions that would probably kill the vast majority of soldiers caught within the 500 meter blast radius of each bomb.

No sooner had this happened then the artillery pounding that part of the enemy line went silent. And 15 seconds later, a line of about 30 tanks, 60 APCs, and a single Medusa Heavy Tank Destroyer began to advance towards the explosive created hole in the enemy line.

OOC2: Current Red Tidean casualties are about 600 dead(the vast majority from your light artillery hitting my landing craft), and 47 men wounded, most critically so. The reason for the dead outnumbering wounded is that your primary attacks on me have mostly been artillery against sea borne vehicles and snipers. These are the most sure fire ways to get a kill, but the artillery depends somewhat on luck and the snipers have a rather slow rate of fire.

Southeastern Coast of Fordock, small fishing town:

The Rev. John Anderson looked out upon the eight hundred assembled AL soldiers that had recently arrived in this port aboard an assortment of civilian ships. Though the Abrahamic League could boast neither of a navy or air force, their ground forces were on par man-for-man with that of most first world nations, being made up almost entirely of men who were ex-soldiers of the Sumguaian military and eqquiped better than the Sumguaian army itself. All across the east coast of Fordock, similar scenes were unfolding as the first of the two-million AL fighters (men, not planes) that were being sent to aid the Fordockians arrived in the nation.

The men were on the beaches. It was hell and people kept dieing. It was hard to withstand such a barrage. The Fordockian troops at the front were locals though and willing to die. Then they turned around. The troops behind were evacuating! The cry went forth throughout the Fordockian army "abandon the city we will return" as troops left. It would have been a rout if not for the two local legions defending and acting as a rear guard as the others retreated under what little air cover Fordock could spare for them. Every available FFJM-01 was helping out.

OOC - Sorry for such a short post just trying to get it up their. After consulting my military advisers (A.K.A my friends) I have decided to pull out of the city. I will take a fair amount of damage I assume but I left a large enough force to hold you long enough to withdraw and I do have as man birds in the sky as I can which totals to about 150 which were scrambled shortly from Sumetra the capital and the wall.

IC: Above Meshkrat

No sooner had the Fordockian Aircraft arrived then their warning sensors went beserk as the Red Tidean ships offshore let loose volleys of Surface-Air Missiles at them. Due to the earlier expenditure of missiles against the Toori airforce, there were fewer missiles in the air this time. Six hundred MDSM-4s and -6s screamed down on the hapless Fordockian Aircraft, ready to blow them out of the sky.

It was also at this point that the Red Tidean K-10 cargo planes, lugging the 32nd Airborne Division, showed up. Parachutes appeared in the sky over the Meshkrat Airport and the highway routes leading out of the city.

The Ground Battle

A large hole had been ripped in the Fordockian lines and the Fordockians, obviously realising this, began to withdraw out of the city. As they retreated, they were pursued relentlessely by offshore artillery fire and retreating columns were hit by thermobaric bombs dropped from H/K-1 Aircraft. In addition, the forces (and civilians for that matter) attempting to retreat via the highways would find themselves cut-off from escaping by the newly arrived Red Tidean airborne units.

To go into detail, these airborne units had just captured their objectives and hadnt had time to truely dig in, they could be dislodged with some difficulty. That is, of course, discounting the fact they could call in offshore aircraft and artillery.

The Meshkrat Seaport

The Red Tidean invasion forces first objective was captured completely intact and on schedule. With the Meshkrat harbor front now in their hands, a message via LASER-link was sent to the transports waiting offshore.

The harbor was open, they could begin unloading the rest of the force. The big transports now began to make their way towards the harbor front... to offload their lethal goods and personnel.

The main 8th Dreadnought Battlegroup

The Rear-Admiral looked up from the message in his hand.

"Is this intellegince accurate?" He asked the Intellegince officer standing infront of him.

"Da, Rear-Admiral." The officer replied simply.

The Admiral nodded, "Well, now we have found a use for our Manthian(SP?) allies. We'll see how well this 'Abrahamic League' fights when they cannot get any replacements, reinforcements, or supplies from outside Fordock."

OOC - I'm mostly fine with it as long as you understand most of the defenders retreated in a semi-orderly fashion and didn't route. Also the people I left on the lines would never route. They are the Meshkrat Legion and are fighting for their literal homes. Also in aircraft in the sky would have at least been tried to hit by any Fordockian Jets left. I'm assuming there is a couple. Also Fordock has a long coast I doubt anyone could patrol the whole thing. I'll get to a response soon. For a while I was thinking of Nuking the city but I want it when I take it back.

City of Meshkratp

Meatpuppet-S-4320112(designation name: 'Athlon') was still, through the mouth and nose covering gas mask that he and his comrades wore, he breathed normally. All this, despite the clear sounds of battle echoing through the APCs armored hide. The loudest sound was the THUNK-A THUNK-A from the constantly firing 30mm autocannons on the APC. That, and the rare HISS as the carrier would loose one of its anti-tank missiles at a particularly fortified target.

Suddenly, the entire ten-man squad jerked as the APC ground to a halt. The loudspeaker connecting the drivers port and the troop compartment crackled.

"Prepare to disembark, say again, prepare to disembark."

With that, Athlon reached up and activated the HUD lens on his helmet, the outside of which began to glow green, obscuring his eyes. Quickly, information began to scroll past his HUD pertaining to his squad. The APC had stopped just infront of a large warehouse filled with Fordockian soldiers who had remained behind in the Meshkrat industrial district. The warehouse itself had been blasted with battleship secondary armament repeteadly, yet enemy forces still remained in the rubble. Athlon did a last minute check of his M-100 Assualt Rifle and activated its Laser-scope.

With a hiss, the back door to the APC dropped open and the carriers autocannons layed down surpressive fire to allow the squad to exit. All 10 men got out of the carrier, almost immediatly upon doing so, the Fordockians opened fire on the five APCs that had taken up residence infront of their hiding place and had just disgorged their squads. The rather large caliber rounds from their FBAR-01 bolt action rifles kicked up dirt around them.

One meatpuppet went down, the top half of his head taken clean off, his M-250 Light Machine Gun clattered too the ground as his body jerked away from the direction the bullet came from. Moments later, a handheld MDM-1 rocket entered the window that the lethal shot had been fired from.

Legs racing, heart pounding, Athlon lead his squad up too the front door, taking up position on one side while another Sergeant and his squad took up position on the other side. Quickly, Athlon kicked the door down while the other Sergeant poked out his M-100 around the corner and fired off a fragmentation grenade from the underslung launcher. Two seconds later, the other Sergeant stormed into the warehouses lobby, finding three dead and one wounded and dazed Fordockian soldier behind the desk.

The Fordockian was easily in position to be subdued, but training and blind loyalty induced by the Hallucagenic Control Collars around the meatpuppets told them: 'If it doesnt have its hands in the air, shoot it.' The Fordockian soldier went down with a three round burst.

This was just the beginning of taking this warehouse though...

On the South Eastern Coast of Fordock

The men around this area were always alert. Hell most of them wouldn't go to the outhouse without a buddy covering them since the Terra Nationale attack. Luckily it had been deflected but men had been lost. The prisoners had been shipped back to "The Wall" where god knows what happened. Most of the men didn't want to find out.

It was a typical day patrolling the beaches. Fordock had nice beaches but ever since Red Tide came the tourist industry was shot to pieces. It was a shame. The waves lapped playfully, The Gulls chattered, and engines roared. Which was what was bothering Tyolst Uyl. He looked out and saw an armada. The alarm was sounded within seconds.

But they were not hostile troops. After Birds had been scrambled eventually it was figured out they were AL troops. It was then that a secret meeting was held and the Fordockian Plans of war given over a secure channel. (Check your TGs)

In The Sky above Meshkrat

The pilots who were escorting were tense. Then alarms blared.
"GET THE...
"SIR INCOMING MISSILES!"
Various chatter like that filled as the Fordockians attempted to shoot down the enemy missiles. About 9 planes managed to avoid the fate of death. Of the 91 that went down about 40 managed to bail out.

The Remaining planes quickly regrouped and shot their FAAMM-01's at the nearby transport planes. The sensors on those things would get them through. The planes flew on realizing they might have to sacrifice the remainder of their lives for Fordock. Hoepfully the enemy was kind to prisoners. (OOC HA).

In Meshkrat

Soldiers ran through the streets retreating as the the Old IV and V legion held the lines. It was hell. As the soldiers ran to get out of the city they "distributed" plans of the new FSSM-01 to the civilians. They were lens less cases but unless Red Tide felt like banning magnifying classes and PVC they would be pretty damn effective. Even with all the casualties they kept moving. They could yet save themselves.

On the Front Lines

The men of the IV and V legion prepared to make a last stand. They would go down swinging. Barricades were placed plans for the FSSM-01 were distributed civilians informed on resistance. The men checked their rifles one last time and prepared to walk to their deaths. They prepared to fight to the last man even as the orders that said "Surrender if necessary" were burned by the men themselves.

OOC - There you go. That should appease everyone.

"A blockade" the Admiral murmured, smirking slightly. "Yes, I think we should be able to handle that. Inform the Red Tideans that we have acknowledged their request, and open contact with the rest of our Fleet. The submarine arm shold already be moving into place, however, please give me an update on the position and readiness of all surface vessels...

He turned away from his communications officer, who quickly began entering and encrypting the messages. As quickly as reports came in, orders would begin to go out, and the blockade would swiftly fall into place.

From reports a fair number of vessels had already been sunk, quite likely from this 'Abrahamic League', but a larger amount had managed to slip through before the submarine net had truly begun to tighten. It would be a pyrrhic move for the Sumguian volunteers, though. There would be no reinforcements, no resupply, and, once the bulk of Manthian forces were in place... no retreat.

The main force of patrolling Cartagena-class nuclear submarines would probably be responsible for most of the actual enforcement of the blockade, patrolling individually with just a small number needed to cover thousands of square kilometers of open water. In the modern age, there was no need for huge concentrations of vessels to effect a blockade, not when one SSN could carry enough munitions to sink twenty ships in twenty different directions. Only a dedicated and intense antisubmarine campaign could pose a threat to such operations, and the Fordockans, seriously outnumbered navally, would not likely be able to mount anything approaching one.

Just in case they tried, though, there would be a second line of cruiser and destroyer flag groups which could be dispatched to intercept any formations formidable enough to fight off submarine attacks. These groups would also be in a position to partially enforce the blockade aerially, loaded out with long-range Praetorian 746.A SAMs to strike at any aircraft which might attempt to ferry supplies or men to or from Fordock.

He was sitting in a tent within a temporary camp that had been set up while the rest of the army disembarked off of ships and organized themselves.

He looked up at the aide who ahd given him the report. "How long will the supplies that we currently have last?"

"If we ration it strictly sir, two weeks."

"Good, that should be more than enough time." The preist smiled as he looked at the paper again. Dead men need no supplies. "Get me a meeting with the nearest Fordockian commander, there are matters I wish to discuss with him."

OOC: Questions on that:

1) A just cause? Your men are overseas aiding some nation. How's that just? Does it concern your national security?

2) Now, how would you feel if you were in the AL. You get orders that you are going to some place you've never heard of and you don't expect to live. How would you feel? Upset.

3) Because your men have lost morale, you can't expect to do well here. It will be route after route as your men struggle to live, now that they know that they will not die.

4) Now, if you say that only the upper guys know, I have to disagree. There is such thing called inside knowledge. A mole, if you will. A few upper people coulld have 'loose cannons' and blurt out their operations to some common soldiers. They get scared so they tell their friends, causing havoc.

1. To the AL, protecting civilians is just cause enough.

2. These men are borderline religious fanatics, they all volunteered for this.

3. how have they lost morale? From the beginning of the RP they all expected to die, and most welcome death as they beleive they will go straight to heaven afterward.

4. They don't, everyone knows. The troops were informed that death was almost certain before they volunteered for the mission.

Now please direct any further questions to the OOC thread.

The remaining 44 found their targets, of which, 23 planes were damaged to varying degree's and 13 were blown out of the air completely, some empty, some not.

As the last Fordockian fighter emptied their missiles, 50 ALRAAMs(Advanced Long Range Air-Air Missiles) were loosed at them from H/K-2 Interceptors launched from a carrier. The ALRAAMs were a RADAR guided missile with back up LADAR guidance incase jamming got too heavy.

A good number of the 40 pilots who ejected did get captured, those men would quickly find themselves in the hands of Intellegince-Commissarat Interrogators.

About 60% of the retreating(as in, not including the IV and V Legion) the Fordockian forces had already gotten out of the city before the Red Tidean Airborne forces showed up. The other 40% found themselves with the option of launching counterattacks at the airborne troops now holding important highways and bridges, which actually had a pretty good chance of being successful given that not all of the airborne division were on the ground.

Main Show(IE: The landings)

Even though they were acting as rearguards, there were inevitably going to be holes(or at least thinly manned parts) in the IV and V legions lines. As the Red Tideans finished securing the harbor front and began to unload the really heavy equipment, probes were sent out to find weakpoints. Once found, fullscale combined arms assualts were launched on these areas supported by aircraft and artillery... and not just offshore either.

The failure of the Fordockians to do any real damage to the harbor front now showed itself. The transport ships had docked without any interference and, in addition to the supplies, they were offloading towed and self-propelled artillery pieces as well. Up until now, the Army had relied on the Navy to provide artillery support, now the Army could bring its most lethal weapons to bare.

The gun artillery from the Army joined the offshore ships cascade of destruction, but far more lethal to enemy ships were the MDM-3s and MDM-8s. These were self-propelled Multiple Launch Rocket Systems(MLRS). The MDM-3s were meant for the counterbattery, light unit(such as infantry and motorised units) surpression, and anti-HQ roles, the MDM-8s on the other hand were intended for use against massed mechanized formations and urban combat support.

Soon, these pieces joined their tubed brethren in lobbing high explosive death everywhere not under Red Tidean control.

Meanwhile, the Toori fleet had withdrawn their air units from naval operations, and began sending in fortifications to the Fordockians at their capitol city. Still, not a single Toori ship was either seen or detected within Fordockian waters. Prelate Hausilous continued to launch wave after wave of Toori Gunships, daring to break through the New Manthian blockaid. Each wave of Gunship flights to the mainland consisted of twenty gunships, with no escort provided to them. Each wave was separated by 30 kilometers. Providing the ocean wouldn't protest with high waves, they flew low, only meters of the surface of the water. The lead craft were armed with the usual armament of two forward 82mm gattling cannons mounted in ball turrets underneath the wings on either side, and two rear mounted miniguns, also in ball turrets suspended under the wings. In addition, instead of carrying an armor unit underneath the Gunship, the lead aircraft carried two LRM missile pods, with one extra magazine for each.

Their orders were to ignore the blockaid unless fired upon. Prelate Hausilous had no intension of arousing the Manthians into a fight, however, the Toori had no previous relations with their kind. He would have no second thoughts in doing so.

OOC - A few Recruits and maybe some forces that found shelter but mostly ineffective. More of a delay.

In the Air

The remaining Fordockian pilots had no chance. They shot off whatever they could and died. Many chose to comit suicide rather than be captured by Red Tide. (They are armed with pistols at all times for this purpose.) A few tried to join up with whatever infantry they could find and help escape. Of course a few were captured. Their leader was Col. Kightent. He would attempt to speak on their behalf assuming they weren't promptly executed.

On the retreat

The men were desperate to escape. They were ordered to leave this city and now a few paratroopers thought to stand in their way. Knowing time was of the essence orders were quickly distributed. On each bridge it would be the same show. First makes sure they had double the troops of the Red Tideans. Second split into three groups. The First group was mostly snipers and was designed to pin them. Once that had happened or a few minutes had passed by the remaining groups were to drive at them from both sides with bayonets affixed. (We use spear bayonets not K-BARS). The orders were given and the men drew up. It was a do or die plan.

On the landings

Things blew up. The IV and V legion were under heavy fire and taking huge amounts of casualties. The more practical units attempted to hole up in buildings and distribute plans to civilians. A few insane units made with pride affixed bayonets and charged. They knew they were dead. They just wanted to go down swinging. Perhaps they were really the smart ones.

OOC - Everyone needs a last charge! Just think of the epicness. Also a Fordockian spear bayonet is 1.5 feet long. About 45 Centimeters.

It was not long before bulky Greal cargo planes showed up on the radar of patrolling destroyers or cruisers... after all, hundreds of heavy cargo planes flying into a country at war was not exactly a normal sight. Within a few moments computer-generated alerts were being distributed to all ships within several hundred kilometers of the incoming aircraft, followed only short seconds later by a message from the human link in the chain, radar operators on board various vessels confirming that the detections were not just a computer system error.

Split seconds after that, dozens of missile systems were tracking the incoming planes from multiple locations, receiving data inputs from fleet EW vessels and AWACS. All this happened in the time it took someone on the bridge of a Carrenzei-class command cruiser to respond to the incoming messages and the data racing across his computer screen. He leaned towards a microphone, set to transmit on standard civilian emergency frequencies.

Attention aircraft *********, your course will bring you into violation of a declared military blockade and no-fly area. Please acknowledge receipt of this message and alter course to *******1, and stand by for further messages. This is your only warning.

1: this course is a course that involves your planes not flying towards Fordock. Other than that, since you didn't specify where your planes were or where they were planning to land, I will let you work out the details.

Greal fighters which were escorting the cargo planes heard the message. They turn on their radio to contact the Greal Military Headquarters on what to do. But the radios suddenly died. Greal fighters could only contact each other now, and maybe send a message to the blockade.

The bayonet charges was met with tons upon tons of gunfire of all kinds, ranging from the standard 6.8mm small arms too the offshore 25 inch guns. Occassionally, an entire charging Fordockian battalion was targetted by MDM-3s, which, with their cluster munition rockets, could take out entire battalions of infantry.

Any Fordockian soldiers that made it too Red Tidean lines were able to spear a Meatpuppet or two at the most, but the vast majority of Red Tidean soldiers would be able too cut them down.

For the few Fordockian Battalions that did not surrender, the Meatpuppets simply surrounded their positions(making sure too keep out of site) and then set-up several loudspeakers that proclaimed the following in Fordockian(OOC: Is it English?):

"Attention soldiers of the Fordockian Army, you have fought well, very well! But now is the time for that fighting too end. The rest of your army is retreating in defeat! If you surrender, you will live, get medical attention, proper food and care. If you continue too fight on, we are prepared too blast and burn you out! Any soldier who wishes too surrender within the next hour should do so, or we will call in thermobaric bombs and napalm strikes on your position. The choice is yours!"

The Fordockian Pilots

Those Fordockian pilots who were captured immediatly had their weapons confiscated and were taken too the Red Tidean landings where they were placed together under gaurd. Those who had wounds were given basic medical aid, all of them recieved some Red Tidean ration kits and water. A Red Tidean soldier who knew Fordockian would explain too them that interrogation would occur later, after the battle.

The Paratroopers at the bridges and highway routes

The vast majority of the paratroopers only managed too slow down the Fordockians and cause them a good amount of casualties, with help from called in artillery and carrier air support. However, in two cases, the paratroopers had managed too set explosive charges to the river bridges before the Fordockian counterattacks. When these positions were overwhelmed, they simply blew the bridges, effectively ending the use of those roads as a artery of retreat.

On one occassion, a highway junction was held against overwhelming odds, although much of this could be contributed too the fact that this highway junction was closest too the rapidly advancing Red Tidean forces and thus recieved the most support.

Meshkrat International Airport

Although slowed down by some raw recruits, airport security, and a company-worth of Fordockians who had retreated there. The two airborne brigades(10,000 men total) who had landed at the Meshkrat International Airport succeeded in capture it mostly intact. Oh sure, one of the RADAR consoles in the control tower was shot out, but that wasnt anything major.

Already, a Red Tidean Mechanized Regiment(2,500 men) was attacking towards the airport from the harbor, meeting light resistance.

Various Airbases in the Red Tide Mainland

All over Red Tide, another phase of the war on Fordock was beginning: the strategic bombardment. The objective: The Fordockian capital.

SBO-04 Strategic Bombers screamed down the runways, 635 of them. About 150 of them(the entire first wave) was loaded down with high explosive bombs. Their objective was too simply carpet bomb the Fordockian Capitals industrial site, not in an actual attempt too damage the capital, but too create kindling for the second wave.

The second wave(the rest of the bombers) was too rain down bombs filled with the incendiary napalm. The objective was too start a raging firestorm which would burn down a good amount of the industrial district and hopefully some residential buildings as well.*

TOP SECRET MESSAGE FROM RED TIDEAN HIGH COMMAND
TO: NEW MANTH FLEET
"We request that you conduct cruise missile strikes against the harbors of major Fordockian port cities(excluding Meshkrat) in a attempt too disable their port facilities. This, along with your blockade, will ensure that no significant foreign supplies will reach Fordock by sea.

OOC2: For an idea of what I am trying too do in the bombing raid, here is the wiki article on the Bombing of Dresden.

Please note, that I will not be using pathfinders(thank you inertial navigation and GPS) and will be targetting a more specific part of your capital.

More importantly, the British used thermite and magnesium in that air raid. I am using Napalm, which is significantly superior. In case you need to read up on Napalm, here is the wiki article:

OOC - Nope I already know all the stuff. I read Slaughter house 5 too which was a damn good book. Anyhow nice post. Fordockian is a separate language from English but not too complex.

IC:

The Surrounded Troops

The message played over the loudspeakers in Fordockian and the men understood it. It was a waiting game as they sat there tense waiting to see what would happen. The men sat huddled around small circles with the highest ranking officer being a Major. They looked around as if trying to decide what to do and the men began breaking off into two groups. Those who surrendered and those who did not.

Of those who surrendered they just walked out. They made sure to always be with a buddy at all times though. Already several "traitorous" Fordockians had met their end at the hands of their compatriots a giant exit wound gaping through their stomach.

When at last all who had surrendered that would which was approximately half of the force the remaining ones attempted to prepare a last stand. Bayonets were affixed bolts loaded and farewells made. The hour time limit ended with the ringing of a watch and the men waited in fear.

Shot Down Pilots

The pilots were put at ease once a translator came by. They saw their friends being tended to and thought that perhaps capture wouldn't be that bad. They handed over their firearms with little fuss. After all they were captured and were but patriotic citizens. Most of them came from elsewhere and were not going to lay down their lives for "honor". Honor only benefits you if you let live they thought and stuck to that mantra.

Retreating Forces

Those who had managed to break through whatever obstacles the Red Tideans had set up made a dash for the exits. They found whatever form of motorized transport they could and attempted to extract themselves and retreat towards the southwest. They used basic stealth and radar technology to attempt to conceal their movements from the unwary eye but it was more of a delay than anything else.

Meshkrat Airport

Whomever was left in the airport quickly surrendered. They let the red tide come and carry them away. They couldn't do anything for their country while dead.

Sumetra (The Capital)

Suddenly men in black burst into the president's office. They told him to come with them and that there were military issues. He followed numbly as he walked into his personal highly stealth equipped vehicle. He was taken outside the city. There he was driven quickly to a bunker. Nothing could happen there. A meeting was convened amongst top military leaders.

"Sir bombers have been appearing. We do not know what could happen. It could be the end of the war if we can't make bullets."

"And what would you suggest then?" the president retorted sarcastically

"Sir have you thought about the nuclear option?"

"No way in hell. We are not using Nukes. Ever."

"Well then I suppose the best we could do would be to scramble what little fighters we have left and attempt to shoot them down. We will also contact the wall and ask them to send fighters to intercept the bombers as they return or catch a second wave if it comes to it."

"I can approve that plan."

"Good sir we'll get right on it."

OOC - I'll give you a chance to respond to those scrambled fighters before I talk about damage. Also I want to see what type of missiles and how many Manth sounds before I respond. Anything I missed?

The Fordockian Commander pondered. It was first impulse to put them on the front lines but somehow that did not seem as efficient. There must have been something more productive for them. Eventually he spoke up and said "I'm assuming you've seen our plans. Thus knowing them we intend to follow them. We ask you to march west and continue according to the plan. You will act as the wall and us as the hammer if you understand the metaphor."

"Indeed, so be it." The preist responded, standing up. "In that case, we are done here. The League's forces will move out immediately." The Commander was escorted out as the Reverend moved to a radio and started giving orders to various officers. The guards began to pack everything away and dismantle the tent, as all across the AL lines soldiers prepared to move out, their destination being the central plains of the Fordockian Peninsula.

"I take it," Hatem murmured, glancing over the photos an aide had handed him, "that this Greal fleet is here to attempt to force us out of our positions. But this.... thing..." He gestured at the Angstrom-class carrier, momentarily lost for words. He shook his head and turned to the captain of the Alexandrian Dream, who had also scrutinized the images along with several of the Admiral's staffers.

"I have heard," the captain murmured drily, "that there is a betting pool amongst the surveillance officers as to whether we will actually have to shoot at it, or whether it will fall apart of its own accord before it can get into battle."

"As for myself, I was wondering whether continental drift might carry Fordock away faster than it can approach. In which case it becomes rather not our problem."

Hatem sighed.

"Back to business, though. It seems unlikely that the Greal will give us any trouble. Not if this represents their grasp of military feasibility and common sense. As for Fordock, though... How soon can we hit their ports?"

"We're ready now." an aide replied. "Due to the open-ended nature of our mission here, we have quite a large and varied arsenal at our disposal. In this case, the Denomination has provided Tomahawk cruise missiles.

Hatem sighed again.

"Ah... Stockpile reduction?"

"They have all been through their midlife tuneups and verified in working order." the aide said. Hatem thought he could detect a hint of bureaucratic obstinance creeping into the man's voice."

"And of course the Denomination decided that a side-show conflict with a fourth-rate military power did not warrant our best equipment. Suppose I can't find fault with that."

It was turning out to be a day of sighs for Admiral Hatem. He had hoped he would be able to call on some of the flashy new Aequatian hardware, or perhaps the Space Union-designed missiles that jinked marvelously around the skies and were loaded out with ultramodern countermeasures and electronics. No such luck, though.

"Very well. I leave the bridge in your hands, Captain. As for you, gentlemen, you have my authorization to fire when ready."

The Admiral stalked off to his quarters, wishing that he could be serving amongst the massive dreadnoght fleets of the Baltic Wars or the huge armadas sailing for Hamilay, instead of overseeing a blockade around some insigninficant tiny nation with second-rate equipment and little glory to be found. Maybe if he was lucky the Greal would try something. Then at least he could claim to have sunk one of the largest 'ships' ever to sail... no, not really, he consciously corrected himself, ever to float on... the sea. Even if said 'ship' was a floating joke anyway.

As became clear about thirty minutes later, though, when targets had been finalized and missiles began to hiss one after another from VLS systems or submarine launch tubes, there was one benefit to using mass-produced old designs that were otherwise destined for the scrap heap or lend-lease to East Lastcenturyistan. Economy was not a factor at all.

Practically speaking, this meant there were a lot of missiles.

The Surrounded Fordockian Troops

The Fordockian Soldiers who surrendered had their gear(except field rations and water canteens) confiscated and were led off. Any officers at or above the rank of Captain(or its Fordockian equivalent) were seperated from the lower ranking officers, non-coms, and regular soldiers and put with the pilots. All of them would recieve the same basic medical treatment as the pilots and anyone who did not have water or food would recieve them.

When the hour was up for the Fordockian soldiers who had not surrendered, orders were issued. Three minutes later, H/K-1s dropped thermobaric bombs on these pockets of resistance(each pocket of resistance recieved one thermobaric bomb). The giant explosions would be lethal too even those in cover, as the fireball would suck the oxygen out of the confine spaces, essentially aphyxiating anybody within the blast.

No sooner had the smoke cleared from the thermobaric bombs then did H/K-1s show up once again, this time lugging a number of napalm canisters. Screeching in as fast as possible, they released their canisters at the right moments. The results were numerous fiery lines of destruction as napalm fires burst into being. The smoke and flames should force any surviving Fordockian soldiers into the open.

Meanwhile, at Meshkrat City Hall

A MBT-66 tank was the first too park itself infront of the city hall, its turret constantly rotating in case of any hostiles. More troops and armored vehicles rolled up too the building and infantry moved in, clearing the structure. After clearing the structure, troops tore down the nearest Fordockian Flag and raised the flag of the Totalitarian State of Red Tide. They also unfurled banners displaying the red wave that the Red Tidean flag consisted of.

All over the city, Fordockian flags at any place flying them were taken down and set on fire. Red Tidean flags quickly replaced those flying in public places, homes and private buisnesses flying them were let off with a warning never too fly a Fordockian flag again.

Simultaneously, Red Tidean troops went into any place that sold guns in the city and began too pull all forms too find the names of those people who owned guns. Then, they sent out squads too these peoples homes to confiscate the weapons, those who resisted violently were detained, those who resisted with weapons were shot.

In addition, important local and regional officials still in the city were given an offer: They could either remain in their positions with Red Tidean 'Advisers' assisting them, or they could be detained and interrogated by the Intelligence-Commissarat(when they arrived).

The standard set of occupation rules were imposed: TVs and Radios were banned, the flying of the Fordockian flag was forbidden, a curfew inbetween 9:00 PM and 9:00 AM was imposed, with violators either being detained or shot on the spot. Newspaper printing centers were also seized and closed down, at least until propaganda specialists from the TSRT mainland could be flown down too take them over.

Finally, the law was layed down on shooting soldiers: For every soldier wounded severely, three people would die, for every Meatpuppets death, ten people would be executed. This was regardless of whether they were innocent or not, the only thing that would save them before the execution would be the one responsible coming forward. Then he/she would be put up against the wall instead. If that person came after the execution, he/she would still be put up against the wall.

OOC2: Ill post on the bombers later.

Outskirts of Meshkrat City

The man ran full tilt across the street, praying in his mind as he did so. He could hear the whine of bullets and the explosions of artillery going all around. What worried him though was the sound of an entire Red Tide army platoon’s boots running after him. He turned at one corner, peaked back, and let loose a hail of bullets from his Fordockian assault rifle. He managed to score a hit on one of the figures approaching through the dust and flying debris. Smiling he shouted in clear and perfect Russian. “Come get me you bastards!”

“Your mother’s were all tavern whores!”

Laughing wildly for a minute and firing a few more rounds he turned and quickly dashed to the next intersection and dived down an alley way. Just in time too, as outraged and anger-filled Red Tide soldiers burst around the corner and followed his feet with lead.

The man, dressed in a Fordockian army uniform, concentrated on running. He’d been stalking the area for two days, before the landings and during them. It was only by chance that a patrol of Red Tidian soldiers had happened upon him by accident in the alleyways of the nearby slums.

“This is sooo ‘Bull-shevik’,” the man cursed. His long legs carried him further, always just out of reach of the chasing soldiers.

Finally he came to a large three story housing apartment and dashed inside. He stopped however in the doorway to deliver the last bit of ammunition that was inside his gun’s clip to the Red Tide soldiers. With another curse alluding to their father’s being gay, he disappeared inside. The entire building was empty, long evacuated, and completely dark thanks to the smog of dust nearness of night.

The Red Tide soldiers approached warily. Three of their number were dead and a fourth one wounded thanks to this one stupid a-hole of a Fordockian. They weren’t about to let him go, but they sure weren’t going to be stupid about it either. The commander of the platoon motioned for three men to enter the front and for the other 17 men to wait outside, covering the exits. The three begrudgingly nodded and started off, flipping firing mechanisms to full auto.

When the three walked in they appeared in a large entryway. Before them was a large, crumbling stone stair and two doorways leading to the left and right. They looked at each other through their gas masks and nodded. One went up the stairs, one went right, and the last went left.

The one who went right entered a communal dining hall. It was a place where all the inhabitants of the apartment could eat together. There were even plates of half-eaten, rotting food lying on it. A layer of dust covered everything, the windows outside were shattered, their heavy drapes moving softly to a sea breeze. The soldier looked under the table and behind a cabinet. Nothing. He walked into an adjoining room which happened to be a small kitchen. Once more everything was tossed aside in a misshapen manner and the windows were shattered. Bombardment must have been heavy in the area.

The kitchen was the furthest it went. There were no more rooms after it and he couldn’t find the Fordockian bastard. He turned back into the dining room and passed over next to the windows. He moved a curtain aside to look outside. Without warning a long combat knife slammed through his gas-mask eye cover, through his eye ball, and into his brain. He didn’t even have time to yell or react. The Fordockian soldier caught the body before it fell and gently laid it down. He wiped his knife off on the soldier’s uniform and slowly stalked back to another hiding place inside the apartment.

The soldier who had gone to the right entered a large den. It held several sitting chairs, a small coffee table, and a broken television set. A decayed body lay in one chair, most likely an elderly person who died just before the landings. The soldier moved past it and further into the room. He came upon another doorway leading down a long hallway filled with closed doors. There was a number on each.

1…2….3…4…5…9

The soldier froze before the door that was supposed to be apartment ‘6’. The number had been shunted off its holders and fallen until it turned into the number 9. The door was cracked a bit open also. Without really thinking the soldier opened the door. He didn’t notice the clear, thin string that was pulled by this action. Nor did he notice the small grenade taped to the door frame just inside the doorway.

The soldier who had taken the stairs heard a loud bang, an explosion, and turned around in a flash. He had stalked the second floor and was finally working on the third. The entire place creeped him out. The people who had lived here did not all get out. He had found a small body of a child still sitting in its play pen, a large sliver of glass from a window jutting through its chest and back.

He walked back through the door and exited the room to go back to the stairs. He was at the top of the stairs when a boot smashed into his back and he fell head first down the stairs. His gun smashed into a stair, swung up, and cracked into his chin, dislocating his jaw. He felt a lot of bones break. His screams carried high. When he landed he felt something soft beneath him. He looked down and found a discarded Fordockian uniform.

“You Communists are all alike. No imagination and no real effort. Always mediocre,” said a voice behind the fallen soldier. He grunted in pain. A pair of strong hands picked him up and slung him over the shoulder in a fire-man maneuver. The man, who had taken off his disguise, took the soldier down to the bottom level. The soldiers outside had yet to react to the explosion, a mistake by their commander for sure. Well, he’d remedy that.

He put the soldier down and stood him upright. He looked him straight in the eye. “You’re arm is broken and so is your jaw. I don’t need you to talk…I just need you to scream.”

Without prelude the man placed a pistol against the man’s left shoulder and fired. The screams were frightening. The man would have fallen, except that the man caught him and then sent him packing outside the front door. Once done he headed out the back entrance, through a small hidden door usually reserved for throwing trash away.

The wounded soldier stumbled out into the light. He was screaming and tears fell like a river across his bloody cheeks. The men of the platoon couldn’t take it anymore. Without waiting for the order they all charged in, yelling at the top of their lungs.

Sitting now a block away, the man who had led the patrol on the goose-chase shook his head. “No imagination,” he said. He took out a small remote control and flipped open a switch cover. With another glance at the apartment and the occasional glimpse of Red Tide soldiers ransacking the place in order to find him he flipped the switch.

Within four different parts of the house, plastic explosive packages exploded. The house came crumbling down, taking its occupants with it.

“Now,” said the man, brushing dust off his stolen Fordockian civilian clothes. “Time to get back to Muller.”

Within an hour the man made it to a small secluded spot on the coast where a small fishing boat was waiting. He got in a rowed out. He saw the Red Tide fleet in the distance. He smiled as he kept going. By then it was pitch dark. He pulled out a small tracking device and nodded, he’d found the right spot. From beneath his seat he pulled a wet-suit and an air tank. Once suited up he dove over the side and swam for more than 400 meters. He came across a small glowing rod and found another one unlit beside it. He broke it and it came into light.

Within minutes another diver came up to him and motioned. They swam off until they reached a large, black, silent behemoth sitting on the floor of the ocean. The Muller special assault submarine. If he squinted, the man could see the lightning ‘SV’ painted on the side of the black hull.

Utilizing specialized anechoic plating and a caterpillar propulsion system, the submarine had entered the waters off of Fordockian a few days before the Red Tide’s assault. It had been child’s play for the Muller to avoid the enemy submarines and sonar. It was a submarine designed for espionage work.

Once aboard the man entered a briefing room where a man in a meticulous black uniform waited. He saluted the seated officer.

“Lieutenant Hans Freidler reporting.”

“Good lieutenant,” answered Major Shornhorst. “I hope your mission went successful and not too terribly hard-going.”

“Nothing like grilling a few Bolsheviks to raise one’s vitals sir.”

“Good, now tell me everything of what you saw.”

A few nitpicks.

1st off: Red Tide is not communist. Although if your RPing that as Propaganda... A-Okay.

2nd off: Meatpuppets response too such a professional foe(at the time the wounded soldier appeared) would be too blow the building with Kraven designed, Red Tidean produced C12.

3rd off: Meatpuppets dont feel emotion of any except for those with certain dose types of HCG(Hallucagenic Control Gas).

Four: A Red Tidean Platoon consists of fifty(50) men.

Finally: Meatpuppets dont feel pain unless the blow somehow damages the Hallucagenic Control Collar(HCC). If the HCC is damaged, a number of random things can happen.

A: The Meatpuppet reverts back too a normal person, with no memory of what he has done before being conscripted.

B: The Meatpuppet goes insane. This could be any number of insanities, from 'Slightly-off-insane' to 'Incoherent-actions-and-words' insane.

C: The damage too the HCC kills the Meatpuppet. Depending on the amount of damage done too the HCC, it could be a simple as the person falling dead or as dramatic as the Meatpuppets head exploding.

The Massive Greal fleet continued to grow in large numbers, 2 superdreadnoughts arrived to replace the Angstorm carrier, which sailed away, but the Greal fleet still remained there, growing every day.

Admiral Peterson watched his fleet from his flagship, which was a Lord Class battleship. The fleet was barely miles from the blockade, a surprise attack on the fleet by Greal’s highly powerful destroyers and cruisers will be successful for the Fordockians.

The captain of the battleship, Lunter, was with him on the bridge. Admiral Peterson was interested in blasting the blockade, and getting those supplies to the Fordockians.

“Well Sir?” asked Captain Grunter of the Lunter

“Send the transports again, if they are shot down, then we have a pretext for a battle.” said the Admiral

Hours later

The cargo planes flew again, escorted with high range fighters that could shot down missiles, and also distract the missiles. However the lead pilot had orders that if they send a warning message again, he had to decide whether to retreat or not.

ooc notes:

One, the blockading force is not all in one place. It is spread out in small groups all around Fordock; as such, it would be impossible for one concentrated super-fleet to be within just a few miles of the whole thing at once. Best you could manage would be to be within a few miles of one or two task forces of a few ships each. It is also mostly made up of submarines, which are not easy to detect, and though the surface ships will be much easier to locate, even they are sticking to a minimum of electronic emissions so as not to stick out.

Two, I would not let such a large force get within just a few miles of any of my surface ships; it would be challenged at six or seven hundred kilometers out and fired on if it did not reply.

I'm going to assume that you wanted your fleet to close in before sending your transports again, and so I will hold off on replying to your transports until we have worked that out. If you insist on closing with your fleet, you will get your 'pretext' without needing the transports anyway, as I will shoot at it. I'll post that challenge now; if you want your fleet to close in, that is fine with me, but it will have to happen under fire.

IC

Manthian destroyer Sammonad, Captain Ernst Braeden commanding

"Captain, new satellite images in. The Greal fleet has been reinforced and are moving our way. They've also gotten rid of that floating carpet..."

The ensign sighed. He had been one of those betting that it would be sunk in battle.

Braeden glanced over the photographs. It was there all right... the Greal were probably hoping to force the issue. He chuckled. He'd run into Greal fleets attempting to force issues before, and seen them back off. He hoped that this time, they wouldn't. It was becoming a hell of an annoyance to have to deal with Greal this way and that.

If they 'force' anything, they may find they have bitten off more than they can chew...

He shook his head, focusing and banishing the wandering thoughts. There was work to do.

"Send out a challenge, and keep me updated on their response. Also, send out an alert to the Flag and request authorization to fire if necessary..."

The ensign nodded, and soon his voice was crackling over the radio once again.

"Attention Greal Fleet, your current course will bring you into violation of a declared military blockade..."

The captain left the communications console as the ensign continued rattling off the standard warning message. He walked over to the bridge.

"Lieutenant Sampson. Designate all vessels associated with the Greal fleet potentially hostile, and prepare to light up our radars if they do not respond to our request. I trust we are ready to strike?"

"Everything is ready, sir. One-twenty-eight total, by fours."

Sampson, a large man with massive arms and shoulders befitting his name, shrugged apologetically.

"Leave it to the fuckers in shorecom to pack the Tomahawks in our fast fire tubes."

Braeden nodded, grimacing.

"Fours will have to do if it comes to it."

There were only a few ships in Braeden's patrol group, but they were all arming up similarly. They were the only surface forces in the immediate area, but should any trouble start they would be sure of support from dozens of patrol groups firing missiles from up to five or six hundred kilometers away. Not to mention the submarines which made up the bulk of the blockading force, a valuable weapon as the Greal were unlikely to pin down their numbers or exact locations.

Admiral Peterson stared at the map, it was true that they probably have superior air power, but they had submarines, and the Greal destroyers have only tracked down half of them.

“We still send the cargo planes and fightrs, but the fleet has to back off now.”said the Admiral.

The massive Greal fleet moved away from the blockade, but they still were a menacing force against a blockading submarine force. Greal fighters took off and flew along the blockade, scouting Fordock. Greal satellites scanned the ocean for submarines. Soon they will have the location of every submarine...

Attention Greal transports, your course will once again bring you into violation of a declared military blockade, yaddah yah... We know you received this warning before, but maybe we were not clear. If you and every other piece of shit in that fleet of yours do not fuck the hell off right now and never show your noses near Fordock again within ten seconds, we're going to blow you to fucking hell."

"Well Sir?"Asked Captain Grunter

Admiral Peterson didn't know what to do, 2/3s of his fleet were supplie ships and transports, the rest were super dreadnoughts, submarines, battleships, destroyers, and even a couple of stealth ships.

"Do we have the have the exact locations of the submarines?"asked Peterson

"Well, We have locations of 50% of them, our submarines are ready sir, our missiles are aiming at the enemy submarines."said captain Grunter.

"What about our nukes?"asked Admiral Peterson

"Well... the nuclear weapons in our ships are on sir."said Captain Grunter after thinking for a minute

Admiral Peterson stared at the map, if he retreated, that was bad, Fordock needed help, if they attacked, well, thats a different story. The fleet had anti-submarine fighters which could easily destroy the blockade.

"They can't order us what to do sir."said captain Grunter

"Retreat the fighters but the fleet will remain striking distance from Fordock. And send this message to the enemy fleet, see if they want to start a stupid war over this."said the Admiral

"We will stay at a safe distance from your blockade, is this alright with you?"

OOC: It will take alot of explosive to get rid of it.

OOC: It's so big it could be targeted by a godrod or a nuke, if it could actually function. One godrod and it would be sent down to the bottom of the ocean, so you might as well just paint a large red target on it. Even ask Allanea, that carrier was a joke.

"That's better." came the reply. "As long as you don't try to approach, break or interfere with this blockade, do whatever you like"

OOC - Before I get around to typing up some much needed replies (was traveling back home from Hartford yesterday) I have some nitpicks with Red Tide and Thrasia (Though I appreciate the help)

A. Guns are banned in Fordock. We don't even use them to hunt. The only guns are improvised and toy ones and the FSSM-01 plans were distributed and will begin to be built but there are none yet.

B. I'm assuming you're burning down all Fordockian flags including the party ones since Fordock has a law in which the leading parties flag can double as the National Flag when they are in power and have the president (as a member of their party). So basically are you burning down party flags too as each party has one [check my wiki page for some info(link in sig)].

C. There is no standard Assault rifle. The standardized rifle in Fordock is still Bolt Action. We have a few M16's and such for backup but for the authentic Fordock look an FBAR-01 is required. (Fordockian Bolt Action Rifle (model) 01)
You could however achieve a similar effect by using our automatic pistol the FMPM-01. (Fordockian Machine Pistol Model 01).

D. As a general reminder to all parties there is a ton of info on my Wiki page and I advise you to read most of it.

E. And finally for those parties of need of a nasty slur to use against Fordockians try something with the form of Hucnat. (E.g. Call them Hucnation, call stuff Hucnated, whatever). If you read the history of Fordock you will understand.

Thanks I'll post an actual response to Red Tide and some others in a few minutes.
