Overview

The Democratic State of Naasha has a history of conflict, ranging from the historical conquests of Surdun and Aegean Islands to the overthrow of the jade Dynasty and beyond into the truly modern era. Nearly every significant land gain achieved by Naasha has been through force of arms, or the threat of violence.

Now, with territories to protect, waters to patrol and allies to support, Naasha recognises the continued need for an effective military force. With the days of Imperialism well and truly over, the focus has shifted to the defence of the Nova Europan homeland, surrounding islands and naval force projection in order to defend allied states.

The Naashan Forces are comprised of the Naashan Land Forces (NLF), Naashan Air Forces (NAF), Naashan Naval Forces (NNF), Naashan Marine Forces (NMF) and Naashan Coastguard. Soldiers and personnel from outside of the Naashan mainland serve in the same units as regular Naashan troops, with the exception of Surdun, which contributes its own regiments and naval forces.

Naashan Land Forces

Organisation:

Regular forces are divided into regiments of 2,000 infantry, divided into four battalions of 500 men each. Attached to each standard regiment is a tank company, consisting of eighty tanks, a regimental HQ unit including field hospital, a supply battalion and a helicopter support squadron of twenty AH-64 Apache gunships and ten UH-60 Blackhawks.

Infantry are grouped into five man squads, led by a sergeant and then into fifty man platoons led by a lieutenant. Two platoons make up a company, which is commanded by a captain and five companies make up a full battalion of five hundred men.

Tank companies are broken down into two platoons of forty tanks, which are controlled by a Captain and further divided into squadrons of eight.

Specialist regiments, such as paratroopers, are organised in the same fashion but will not have attached tank companies or IFV's for example. Meanwhile, assault infantry regiments will also have 100 APC's attached.
