Oickoidia

Tu no poeira acquier la guevarane. Tu no poeira acreist la guevarane. Tu poeira sola ac la guevarane. La guevarane aca tu pneuma o ille no prævessu.
~Consul Sir Alistair Davidson, Republican Proclamation of 2009

Uygur, Oickoidia
Cold, empty, barren - these were the words that defined Oickoidia, the frigid northern colony of the Londinian Commonwealth. For two centuries, she had subduedly doled out her rich mineral wealth to Kensington, served as a staging ground for Commonwealth military operations, and been a wholly loyal possession, always willing to serve Crown and Consul. Never questioning or belligerent, but humble and obedient were the native administrators of the Crown Colony of Oickoidia. Only thrice were Londinian forces required to put down insurrection, and each incident occured within a decade of the initial occupation. Ever since, a proud Londinian flag had fluttered over the snowy skies of Uygur, the seat of Oickoidian government.
Today, on 9 Fructidor 2014, though, that was about to all change.
On the steps of the large, imposing, vaguely intimidating concrete edifice that was the Proconsular Office, the embodiment of Londinian control over Oickoidia, stood Minister of Foreign Affairs Cecilia Belladini, clutching an overcoat around her body, which was unused to the glacial temperatures of the Oickoidian continent.
She made a quick, solemn speech before the assembled crowd of Londinians and Oickoidians. "Today is not a day of mourning," Ms Belladini said in her speech. "But a day of celebration. For a new ally of the Commonwealth is born on this day."
And then, the large Londinian flag that had, for what seemed like eternity, waved over the Office, slowly descended its steel flagpole, as a chamber orchestra slowly played the Symphony of the Commonwealth, and, in its place, the proud standard of the newly created Dominion of Oickoidia.

Official Oickoidian Communiqué
Open Declaration:
For too long, we have wished to join the league of truly independent nations, nations that are free to determine their own destiny, nations free from oppression, nations free from foreign interference.
Oickoidia is now a member of this league. We would like to begin normalized diplomatic and economic relations with the rest of the world, as our foreign relations, as of now, extend only to our parent and close ally, the Londinian Commonwealth. We are significant exporters of uranium, precious metals, and iron ore.
Celerius quam asparagi cocuntur.
Sincerely,

Khan of the Dominion of Oickoidia
