The large brass bell cringed under the immense water-pressure.
It was impossible to speak with the incredible noise, so he just sat there and looked out of the small, thick plastic window.
Suddenly, the whole bell stopped moving downwards.
He looked out the window expecting to see the large sphere of metal coming down, and there it was. A huge ball of steel and glass was being hoised down while small drone-sub's were buzzing around it.
He heard the service radio buzz a little before he heard a small voice say "Chris, are you down there?"
He looked over to his chief engineer, and then he picked up the radio.
"Yes, hello. What is it?"
"We are ready to send down a small transport-sub to carry you to the sphere. It looks like it took the pressure like we expected. It cried like a baby, but it managed."
"Allright, good. I can't wait!" Chris replied. He was so exited he could barely sit still.
