The Commonwealth is an authoritarian elective monarchy with elements of unitary paliamentarianism. The Head of State and Head of Government is the Lord of the Commonwealth. He exercises absolute and ultimate authority over the Commonwealth and is elected for a lifelong term. The Council of State serves as the sole parliamentary body in the Commonwealth serving the entire state. It proposes laws to the Lord but his authority is final and ultimate and may never be overridden.
The Current Lord of the Commonwealth
Currently, HE Lord Alexander Corvinus, occupies the important post and was recently elected. He is the youngest Lord ever elected and is also the first bachelor Lord. He has shown great will to make the Commonwealth an international player and has continued the economic reforms of his predecessor Marshal Jaime Salvador. He supports a corporatist economy and the current unitary system.
