Revolutionary Party Seeks International Support (Open)

Nations of the world,

Bluntstone Vasey is a divided state, plunged into deadlock as a war of attrition grinds down the proletariat's will to continue.

In the East, the Monarchy holds totalitarian rule over its citizenship. In the West, exiles, renegades and 'Undesirables' of the Monarchial regime have formed the beginnings of a federal United Socialist States of Bluntstone Vasey.

However, having tolerated this separation for a number of years, it has become clear that the peaceful life enjoyed by so many in the USSBV will no longer be sacrosanct, and last night a massive invasion force swept across the new Nation.

The Monarchy, under King Larkam IV, have placed 90% of the nation under martial law. This transmission is being relayed to you from an underground bunker in the North-Western mountainous region of the USSBV.

This tragic course of events has happened before our fledgling Constitution has been ratified, and the beginnings of the federal system we desire to introduce lies in tatters.

Despite our deploration for military force, we seek support from nations sympathetic to our cause in order to drive back our oppressors and establish the USSBV across the realm in order that hostilities will never be required again.

This communication line is manned 24-7 but delays may be experienced due to the difficulties involved in maneuvering a transmission through the new security measures.

Respectful in advance of your responses,

Laura Esquital
Comrade-In-Chief, United Socialist States of Bluntstone Vasey

Summary:

Urgent support required to overthrow totalitarian regime

Revolutionary force locked in hopeless war of attrition

Force must be met with force to ensure the happiness of our citizens

We hope to form diplomatic ties with sympathetic nations which will be of use to all parties following the founding of the United Socialist States of Bluntstone Vasey

Esteemed leaders of the world,

If support is not forthcoming our great aspirations for this nation will go to waste as our very limited armed forces are already poorly supplied and thinly spread. Twenty kilometres of territory were lost since our last communication and our position looks increasingly vulnerable.

We implore you, come to our aid at this time of need and our every reasonable service will be available to you by way of demonstrating gratitude.

Respectfully in advance of your urgent response,

Laura Esquital

Mokastana is currently in between regimes, but as a guerrilla army we are willing to assist you. We can promise no naval forces, but a few cargo ships with supplies and food. Perhaps a few squads of expert guerrilla fighters. Until the new government is established we can only offer so much.

Many thanks for your support. The coastline is heavily guarded by Larkam's forces but the partially frozen glacial river has no current during this season and your ships should encounter no difficulty passing this way as it is currently unpatrolled. Exact details of the route are being relayed on this channel as we speak.

The food and medical supplies you can spare will sustain our women, children and wounded and hold back our oppressors for a few precious hours. Thank you.

Laura Esquivel

Short-term aid is currently approaching our entrenched position but this situation is unsustainable. A full-scale push is required to drive our enemy from the nation forever.

We salute the great nation of Mokastana in a public manner but would reiterate our plea for significant military action in the coming hours from any who can spare a fraction of their forces.

Deferrent to your every gratitude,

Laura Esquital,

Encrypted transmission to the Monarchy of Bluntstone Vasey:

The Incorporated States of Consumer Technologies have noticed you seem to be experiencing a little trouble with communist rebels within your borders. We are prepared to assist your wareffort with a Black Ops unit and military intelligence to help you root out the rebels. In return, all we ask is that Consumer Technologies is allowed to expand its corporate assets into your nation. The Board of Consumer Technologies is also prepared to send more of its special undercover forces to intercept and destroy shipments meant for the rebels from other nations.

Should you accept our offer, the Board is looking forward to a long and prosperous cooperation with the Monarchy.

The Board,

Intelligence serves you correctly. Rebels currently located in Western mountainous region.

Particular concern is currently unguarded sea access to NNW. Black Ops deployment here essential and urgent.

Economic and corporational cooperation to be discussed after eradication of rebels.

Salutations,

The Office of His Majesty, Bluntstone Vasey

OOC: as you may have guessed, it is my intention for the rebels to win this conflict, but this will add a nice variety to the RP, thanks.

A man wearing a black diver's suit stood on the shore, staring out over the see through his binoculars with nightvision. In the night, he saw a ship floating on the large mass of dark water that was the ocean. Another men came up from behind him stood beside him.
"Found the target?"
"Aye, and we can easily swim to it. It's getting close so they can bring in the goods. Put some C4 on the hull and BANG, they're gone."
"Let's go then."
Both men walked into the see until they were too far out to still be able to stand. About an hour later, they were back on the shore, watching the ship again and waiting for the timers to end. Five minutes passed by until several explosions lit up the water, each explosion blasting a sizeable hole in the ship's hull. They stood still on the shore for a minute or two more, enjoying the sight of fires dancing all over the deck of the ship and the reflection of it in the water. One man turned around and began to head inland, back to the base. The other remained behind for a few more seconds and grinned before going back as well. This would just be the beginning.

General Press,

Attached, two extracts from the rebel manifesto (published prior to outbreak of conflict and before outlawing of political parties in Eastern BV) along with the notes of the Leader of the Executive and Opposition at the time, John Havens (now redundant due to illegality of his post)

Extract #1

In a decadent system such as ours it is necessary to continually regenerate political interest. THEREFORE:

Continual accountability of all political representatives must be in place to ensure maximum possible link between electorate and executive
A truly democratic system is necessary for any left-wing progress. The workers of the country as well as the intellectual élite require the system to directly represent their desires.
For these reasons the Party will, upon election to office, initiate a two-chamber legislature with judicial review process, from which will be drawn an executive. All posts will serve a two-year term.

Extract shows disregard for authority. Reforms to current system unneccesary. Workers' function is production, to benefit economic agenda more importantly than liberties of individual. J.Havens

Extract #2

War has torn apart many regions and left destitute countless civilians. THEREFORE:

The Party stands for minimisation of Defence spending in order to protect but not aggress our fellow Nations
The Party will seek allegiances and membership to treaties which maximise defence of the citizenship of Bluntstone Vasey.
Nuclear powers are consumed by constant arms-races. Nuclear weapons will be outlawed from production, sale or research in Bluntstone Vasey.

Extract demonstrates flimsy foreign policy based on cooperation with other nations. His Majesty in favour of isolationist policy with maximal defence spending. J.Havens

Hoping extracts provide necessary information. More cuttings available from criminal archive - warning: most will cause offence and many include references to decentralised governance, social welfare spending and removal of class barrier and stigmatism.

the three Mokan Freighters were moving up the shore lines...The "government" or whoever was in charge had not approved of this action, but then again, who cares... Captain Honduras was sipping on a hot coffee trying to keep warm

"its too fucking cold up here"

"yeah, why cant we be fighting on tropical islands or something like that?"

the comment wasnt so much as wanting a war in paradise but of warmer weather, for Mokastana was a tropical island that that is where they have always fought. this would be the first time mokan troops fought in an icy climate. Beyond them they saw pillars of fire in the distance,

"what the hell?"

he pulled up his binoculars and saw the outline of a sinking ship...

"Mierda! All hands general quarters, NOW!"

while Mokan wat freighters were not battleships they did have enough to keep small arms and floating terrorist at bay. On top a light AA gun was relieved and crew began patrolling with A07SM (7.62x51mm) Rifles, search lights were not activated so they could stay hidden, instead crew watched the water with infrared goggles, while three men prepared the only 60mm gun on deck...just in case

This conflict has been watched carefully by Narbonia's government and there is much sympathy from the people of Narbonia, and after a wave of pro intervention strikes in the capital New Alexandria, the government has pledged to send substantial re-enforcements to the revolutionarys in Bluntstone Vasey. This is not a declaration of war on the monarchy, but a merging of intrests with the freedom fighters. The re-enforcements and aid are as follows:

-1000 tonnes of foodstuffs (mostly tinned mushy peas)
-plenty medical supplys (with over 40 trained doctors)
-100000000 granules of cash
-5 squadrons of the peoples air defence force will be moved to a location of your choosing (they will also transport the goods above)
-3 divisions of Narbonian infantry, 20000 men (with 1 artillery regiment)
-An armoured divison of 100 vehicles.
-economic co-operation and promise of financial help.

I hope that this will ensure the nations survival and a minimal loss of life. We ask if you can accomadate the items above as they will be deployed shortly (co-ordinates etc.) Continue the fight against tyranny and consider Narbonia a friend

Enemy numbers are impossible to estimate due to large number being in hiding or being harboured by civilians. None are professional soldiers (as shown by manifesto, they are anti-conflict)

Your offer of military support appreciated but not required. His Majesty enquires as to how you gained knowledge of our particular situation? Blunstone Vasey seeks no help from massed military forces, and has resorted to infilitration and undercover tactics from sympathetic nations only due to elevated urgency.

Your forces will not be granted access to Bluntstone Vasey. Your assumption of our nation's weakness has not been appreciated by the Monarchy.

A stealth transport plane flew, circled, and flew off, having disengaged the man on board. He was the assassin, who would take care of the monarch. Unlike Rai - 1, who was modified to be superhuman genetically, Rai - 2 was augmented mechanically with aids for his task. He was not deisgned with the resilience shown by Rai -1, but was instead modified as a sharpshooting assassin.

As well as the infared senosrs built into his body, linked to his brain directly by complex nervous system recalibration, he was also gifted with the most steady hands and best distance judging known.

Like Rai - 1, he had a working lifespan of now about 6 months, before he either died or faced agonising gene therapy.

But he had been useful. Numerous deaths across the globe had been caused by Rai - 2s bullets, as had the hideous mangled bodies by Rai - 1, and the disappearences by the most feared, Rai - 3.

=====

He landed near the capital. He would commendere transport, and then find a suitable location. He might wait for 3 days, until he shot the mark, the monarch.

That would be the signal.

He had across his back slung a black rifle, covered in in webbing. An XRS - 2, .50 calibre with teflon-coated AP rounds. These were the sort that could punch through a kevlar helmet, or thorugh even light armour on vehicles.

On his belt was a vicious steel knife, a few flares, a survival tin and 5 rounds. He should only need one. The knife would take any opposition.

$50billion is a truly generous offer but due to our present circumstances financial aid is virtually useless to us. Furthermore, due to the USSBV's economic policy, even such a generous interest rate as 1% would be nearly impossible to repay since all surplus will be required to pay for reconstruction of war-damaged areas for several years after the conflict ends.

Thanks again for your kind offer. If there is any alliance or treaty which you form part of to whom you could present our situation, this gesture will be held in the highest regard from the future government of the USSBV.

Military force truly can be our only escape from this situation - explosions have been reported in the Northern Sea and now even we in the heart of the stronghold fear for our lives.

We can't intervene in military conflict without a majority of a direct voting (means that more %70 of my populace has to agree in the favor of it.)

However, we offer you other solution. a $30 billion war-loan, with no interest rate, at all.

as it is under the special status of war-loan, you don't have to repay it until ten years after the war ended, and even if you will have problems with that, we can think of long-term payment program.

also, if a war-loan spends its money buying Bredford weaponary (in Cornwall Military Aviation, or custom deals with the goverment made here.)

in a sum more then $100 million NS$, it dosen't have to repay %40 of the sum used to for the purchase.

(example: you go and purchase missiles from the money of the warloan in Cornwall Military Aviation. assuming your order is $200 million NS$, you don't have to repay %40 of the sum. that means, that from those $200 million NS$, you don't have to repay $80 million NS$.)

Thank you and good day again,

Diplomatic letter to King Larkam IV of Bluntstone Vasey

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v387/Praetonia/PraeflagIII.jpg

Your Most Excellent Majesty,

On behalf of King George IV of the Crown Commonwealth of Praetonia, may I first extend to you my most sincere condolances that the actions of collectivist insurgents have plunged your country into civil strife. The threat posed by collectivist despots is well recognised in Praetonia, and the general citizenry guard their free constitution vigilantly against the designs of those who would hijack it for such sinister ends.

On the particular matter of your own rebellion, Parliament has voted Cr95 billion to be spent deploying naval and ground forces to your country, so that your just reign may continue, protected from the nefarious efforts of collectivist guerillas. Currently it is believed that this may translate into as many as 120,000 troops, and a naval deployment consisting of a number of carriers and escorts, sufficient to patrol the entire coastline from smugglers and foreign powers that may seek to aid in the rebellion of collectivist forces. This military force would of course intervene only at the express wish of Your Majesty.

Should Your Majesty choose to accept the force on offer, a treaty guaranteeing free and undisrupted trade between our two states would also be on offer, alongside other extended diplomatic benefits. Praetonia is a state with which association can prove extremely beneficial, and my King hopes most sincerely that you will accept our moves towards closer relations in good faith.

In the meantime, I wish you the best of luck in your present fight.

Yours,

Sir Henry Southerton,
Praetonian Ambassador to Bluntstone Vasey

The car, to all extents and purposes, was nothing special. This quality, however, was its main asset in its current capacity: transporting the leader of the Revolution to meet the supplies sent by the benevolent state of Mokastana.

It was testament to the gravity of the Party's current plight that Laura Esquital herself travelled on such a mundane mission, but the supplies she was taking delivery of tonight could prove vital in the coming days - even hours.

She shook her long blonde hair from under its bandana - a revolutionary convention but a cliché she felt perfectly comfortable living with - and raised binoculars to her eyes. Mokastana's trucks were arranged on the icecap, the men huddled around in circles to keep warm.

The car closed on the ring of trucks, ready to lead them to the stronghold.

The car sped along into the capital, following the stream of lights. He looked at his palmtop, strapped to his wrist. The SATNAV program showed where he was: almost outside the palace.

He stopped the car in an alley, bound the man with duct tape, and then climbed the side of the building.

On top, he found his view of the palace. Perfect. All the front was covered.

He lay down, loaded his rifle, and aimed through the scope, lookingf or the monarch.

If the prisoner still refused to talk in the morning, he'd try the watertorture, the drugs, the electroshocks and more.

Comrade Ran Walter was not a strong-spirited man, and far from being the most intelligent - ergo his original capture. It did not take long to break down his defences, through a variety of torture methods he had not even heard of, let alone imagined.

Eventually, he was going to have to talk. Every muscle in his body was aching to shout information at the torturer, anything to take the pain away and walk out of this room that stank of death. Walter was deluding himself, of course, as most torture victims do, that the torturer would be true to his word and release him when he had the information he required.

The information Walter had was days, maybe even a week out of date - he had left Esquital's compound days before in search of supplies of food in the nearby farms. Having been cut off from the mountains by numerous Monarchy supply lines, he had lain low and it had taken a Black Ops team, he was nearly proud to reflect, to finally capture him.

However, the torturer would have no idea that his information would be at best partially accurate, and as Walter weighed up the options his fixed expression of pain became a grimace of determination.

On the one hand, to betray Laura and the Comrades would be unforgivable. Bluntstone Vasey would be totally taken over by Larkam and the Monarchy troops, and the totalitarian right wing would take over the nation wholesale.

However, the rebels' chances of winning this war were miniscule. They were an untrained army using second-hand hunting weapons and their only defence was the unknown whereabouts of their headquarters. Perhaps, Walter thought, if his life were to be spared he could go into hiding and begin a properly organised Revolution from inside the system?

Through grunts of pain, he forced out the only sentence he had left in him, the one glimmer of hope he had to return home safely.

"Laura Esquital. You can...find her. Mountains. Three degrees north. Of the only...lake. in the mountains. You can find her."

His head lolled down to his chest as his brain shut down, and exhausted by pain and effort, he fainted.

OOC: Tag for 3 posts: one as Esquital and the rebels taking the shipment of supplies, one as Rebel HQ to Bredford accepting the loan and also a transmission from the Monarchy to Praetonia

The safety off, he slowly aimed the illuminated cross-hairs straight at the head of the monarch. His finger tightened around the trigger, as his free hand slowly adjusted the scope to allow for light wind, and for the angle of the shot.

He squeezed the trigger, the bang of the massive round supressed by a silencer on the end of the rifle. That wouldn't stop the sonic boom, but it would conceal his location.

Had he hit?

a Mokan fleet was being assemble in the Panama pass to head to Bluntstone Vasey, it was a vote of 4 to 5 in the confederates halls, the only region to say no to war was the Mejico region, because as much as they support global revolutions against tyranny they didnt have the resources to fight. Luckally the Mokan Army had been ready, they new this was going to suck majorly, but they hoped to have a training base for cold regions up soon and hoped to have it in Bluntstone Vasey....

The man in uniform pulled his captor's head backwards and brought his face closer to that of his prisoner. With a firm slap he confirmed his victim was unconscious for the moment.
"Fainted, but he gave us something. Inform the Monarchy to check out the location. Three degrees north of the lake in the mountains. Do we have anyone in that?"
He said to another CT agent.
"I think we have a group of about three men in a small village in that general area. I'll send word to the Monarchy and our local agents immediately. And what about him?"
He said as he gestured towards the prisoner.
"Throw him back in his cell and give him something to eat, but lace his food with cafeïne. I don't want him to get any sleep. We may have to continue our interrogation to see if we can learn. We won't kill him until he's outlived his usefulness."

Meanwhile, in the basement of a house somewhere in the mountains, a man was sitting behind a desk, listening to his orders sent to him via the radio.
"Any news?" A second man asked as he came down the wooden stairs, creacking loudly with each step.
"Three degrees north of the lake. We are to arm up and go there to check things out. There may be rebels in the area. We are to expect the Monarchy might do something as well."

Soon after that, three men were traversing the mountains, heading to the specified location. As they approached a steep mountainedge, one of them stepped forward and surveyed the area with his binoculars, looking for targets.

Bluntstone Vasey

Your planned television and radio scheduling for this evening has been interrupted for this brief information broadcast

Notice to all Subjects:

His Majesty and High Lord Larkam has fallen ill and will be unable to appear at any public rallies for the forseeable future.

Poisoning by rebel assassins is the likely cause, and the country's security status is therefore elevated to Emergency, even in non-conflict zones.

His Majesty's aides will be continuing to govern. Continue to work as usual.

And now back to "What I Can Do For Bluntstone Vasey"

"That will have to do." Larkam's chief aides were in turmoil, their leader's assassination had shocked them to the core - they had believed the rebels to be entrenched in the mountains to the North, rather than infiltrated across the entire nation.

The citizens, of course, would never find out about this tragedy until the conflict was over, but since Larkam addressed the armed forces each morning as they saluted the flag after mess, their will to fight would be severely depleted in the coming hours.

"Okay, let's shut down all international communication. That's what His Majesty instructed in case of his being unable to command himself"

Rai-2 stowed away his rifle, then emptied the rest of his flask, before jumping down the side of the building onto the roof of his car, denting it.

He then climbed in, and drove off to where he would be picked up by Mokastana forces, and go back to Door 28 in the Ministry of Secrets.
