My nation abandoned earth at the MT/PMT stage, we had underwater cities that were sealed environments. It would be interesting if I could throw in some descriptions. Not character roleplay, but descriptions of empty buildings and such...
A basic systems analysis: The central dome contains the main computers, the South-East dome contains the fail-safes, the North-Eastern dome contains the Oxygen, CO2 Scrubbers and Nuclear reactor (currently running on 5 % power).
The entire base is pressurised, and has a helium/oxygen mix, not enough to make you incomprehensible, but enough to make you sound funny.
Finally, each large dome has on its roof an airlock that will allow one medium subamrie to fully enter, and aerate, or a larger sub to dock onto the side, and a pressurised walkway to be extended.
There are mining equipment stashes in a few of the smaller domes. All thw walkways have a maintenance corridor underneath, and are mostly metal, with a few glass panels across the large domes, re-enforced immensely.

OOC: I am to understand that the basalt layer underlying all this is five hundred meters thick, yes? Since most of the domes are already claimed, I'll maybe try an alternate approach. My plan is to claim the remaining domes (assuming all the ones indicated are still unclaimed) and attempt to penetrate the basalt layer to create underground caverns as shown here. This will allow for expansion of the city's living area and easier direct access to any remaining deposits. Dark green are the domes in question, and light green are proposed shafts and tunnels. It might LOOK like some of those tunnels are violating various people's territory, but of course they are underneath the domes they pass 'through' and so would not actually meet up with them. I know the Alfegosan miners couldn't penetrate the basalt layer... but I'd be using the same articulated plasma lance technology shown off here.
