Soli'vil Underwater City - Up for Grabs!
In 1972, Alfegosian studies of territorial waters detected a massive deposit of metal underwater, at a depth of 1300 metres. When investigated further, it turned out to contain unusual concentrations gold.
The deposit, around about 8 miles wide and 10 miles long, located 18 miles offshore North Alfegos, attracted interest quickly, and before too long, a manned drilling platform was build, on the seabed.
Here, they managed to remove copious amounts of gold-containing ore. An underwater city of competitors built up, until the point where there was a population of approximately 12 400 people.
In 2001, the prospectors were in for a shock: they found that the depsoit was only 200 metres thick, before a massive inpenetrable barrier of basalt was found. Being at least 500 metres thick, mining soon stopped, and the prospectors left.
Now, the Alfegos government is reopening the abandoned complex for any nation to colonise.

We have recently opened up an underwater city complex, for anyone who wishes to take it.
We wish to emphasise that there will be no fighting in Alfegos waters, or you will face expulsion.
So, who wants to claim parts of an underwater city on top of an old, gold mine, with possibly more gold? (Whooops!)

"Amazing," Captain Jack Parrish of the Royal Navy's O'Gara Submarine stared in wonder at the abandoned settlement, through the periscope of his near-ancient submarine. "This is incredible. An entire underwater city." Turning to his communications officer, Captain Parrish spoke. "Lieutenant, inform the Corsair that the map appears to be completely accurate. Tell them that we recommend taking the southwestern dome first."
"Aye, Captain," responded the Lieutenant. "Corsair, this is Lieutenant Gresh of the O'Gara. Over," The communications officer spoke into his radio.
"Lieutenant Gresh, this is the Corsair of RN Corsair Expeditionary Fleet. We are situated above the city."
"Corsair, We are just outside the city. The cartographical details appear correct. Captain's recommendation, colonize the large dome in the southwest first. All other domes have been occupied. This is the O'Gara departing, over."
"Aye, O'Gara. Over."
And with that, the first of the Royal Coastal Admiralty's Special Underwater Combat Squadrons and the Maritime Infantry Corps began SCUBA deployment into the southwestern dome. Their mission would be to clear and secure the dome, allowing members of the Underwater Engineer Corps to arrive. The UEC's first priority would be contstructing an underwater submarine base, thereby allowing mass immigration.

"Captain, we're approaching the site now."
"Roger that. Let's get a few buoys in the water, and a surveyor."
"Aye Captain."
As the 5 catamarans slowed to a halt, with the various supply ships and LPDs not far behind them, Sky Lord helicopters began dropping sonar buoys and markers into the water, before several patrol craft began patrolling the area.
After 15 minutes, submersibles began slipping quietly down to the ocean floor, each carrying the security forces that would secure and investigate the underwater city.
OOC: Fight it out among another - or just stick people in to repel other people who claim.
IC: The Alfegos communist movement, an undeground organisation that had all but been eradicated, were sitting 10 miles away in a small submarine: a rust bucket. It was taking them down to the South - Eastern dome. They would not officially claim it: they would hide, underneath the living areas in the maintenance corridors, some flooded, and ideal as airlocks. They would not be found by anyone.
The sub was designed to look like a whale, with a corresponding RADAR cross-section. It was also painted a very dark blue, to blend in. The sub dropped down, and came alongside the break in one of the walkways. The sub emptyed of crew, who had slowly pressurised inside, before the crude onboard computer made it move off, like a fish, into the eternal night.
The 10 divers swam through the gouge, and came into the maintenance walkway. They opened the first airlock, and water pounded in, forcing them into the corridor.
The second one opened as the other closed, and the men found themselves inside a pressurised climate that was the maintenance sector. They would sleep first, before they set up.

As the Barronian soldiers entered the compound, small monitors on their wrists showed them where to secure, what to secure, and where not to go.
"Alpha team, through there. Bravo, with me. Charlie, Delta, Echo teams, begin securing this place, ensure that nothing gets in. Lockdown the doors, sandbags, light armaments."
"Roger."
"Let's move. RZ is here, EW Zulufire."
The teams split, treading softly through the base so as not to alert any others as to where they were.
After the elite squadrons of the Special Underwater Combat Group had cleared the main dome, Corpsmarshal Maxim Connery of the Maritime Infantry Corps moved his troops in, setting up a command post in the center of the dome. He stationed Maritime Infantry guards outside of the main dome, keeping, equipped with their SCUBA gear and their crudely-designed, and admittedly somewhat ineffective, underwater-capable rifles.
With swift precision, the Special Underwater Combat troops hurried through the nearby smaller domes. Each time they cleared a dome, detachments of Marine Infantry made their way to set up outposts within them.
Throughout this process, Corpsmarshal Connery waited impatiently for results. Upon learning from his SUCG squadrons that other nations' forces wre nearby, however, Connery made a request to the Corsair, above.
"Corsair, come in. This is Corpsmarshal Connery, we have secured the main dome and occupation of the satellite domes is pending. However, all other main domes have been claimed. I am requesting that submarines be sent to support our efforts directly outside of the dome and that Marines be sent to replace my men inside the dome. Connery Out."
After several minutes, a reply came. "Corpsmarshal, this is HIM Corsair. Royal High Command has dispatched Sceptre and Vigilant Submarine Squadrons to aid you, as well as 3 Brigade, Marine Rifles and 1 Brigade, Marine Armored Regiment. The Corsair, over.

One of the rebels had linked his laptop crudely to the fibre-optic conduit that transported information around the base, from the computer systems locted in the central hub.
It was still working, and it was able to detect the few flooded sectors, mostly maintenance.
They heard banging on the walkway, and stayed silent. They hoped they wouldn't enter the maintenance walkways.
There was also a barely functioning security network: that must have been damaged by flooding.
However, it allowed them to lockdown the area they were in with half-foot Carbon-nanotube re-enforced steel, so that tey weren't disturbed. Hopefully, no-one would notive the quiet clang and hiss as the hydraulics woke themselves.

The current state of affairs in the underwater city we have both come to colonize part of is undoubtedly worrying, with the same areas being claimed by different nations. In an effort for better relations between our two great nations and regional stability, the High Kingdom would like to propose an idea. We would like to offer you a pact, whereby both of our nations agree to recognize each others' claims of the underwater city. We would also agree to support one another other, even militarily if necessary, against others impinging upon either of our territories in the city.

Royal Office of Colonies
Summary of Current Atrurian Activity in Soli'vil Underwater City
In accordance with the Royal Charter of the Atrurian Soli'vil Company and the Atrurian Colonial Act of 2004, the Royal Office of Colonies officially annexes the southwesternmost major dome of Soli'vil Underwater City and the domes in its immediate vicinity. Now known as Atrurian Soli'vil, the primary purposes of this colony shall be many. First of all, the Soli'vil Colony will serve as an Atrurian military base abroad, enabling a more rapid response to situations occuring farther away and a projection of Atrurian military might abroad. Secondly, the Soli'vil Colony will serve as a financial and commercial trading hub, with two major ports and enormous financial and business districts. Third, the Soli'vil Colony will provide the much-needed agricultural center for several artificially-created plantations where crops such as tobacco, cotton, quinoa, and many other grains and vegetables will be farmed for trade and domestic consumption. Fourth, an entire dome within the the Soli'vil Colony is expected to become devoted entirely to factories, expected to turn the Soli'vil Colony into an industrial hub as well. Finally, the Soli'vil Colony, being underground, will likely become a major tourist attraction, due to its location, and will be plentiful in museums, monuments, amusement parks, and resorts. The Soli'vil Colony is expected to become a major part of the Atrurian economy.

"The bulkheads closed on the Barronians. They're stuck in there," Browne replied.
"What? Well don't they have drills or something?"
"I dunno El-tee, I'm sure they would've thought of that before radioing for help though. Besides, who knows what it could do in this environment, eh?"
"Well whatever, pass it on to the command post, I'm sure they'll figure something out,"
"Affirmative, sir."
Upon recieving word of the Barronians' plight, Corpsmarshal Connery ordered the evacuation of the few civillians that had arrived in the colony, judging it too dangerous. He then contacted the Barronians.
"Hello, this is Corpsmarshal Connery of HIM Coastal Admiralty, Commanding Officer of the Atrurian Colony. Our engineers are on their way, but in the meantime, is there anything we can do to help you?"
"Corpmarshal - a pleasure to hear from someone. We are in a bit of a predicament here, as you can no doubt tell. As for anything you can do, is there anything on your side that can open these doors without the need for gaping holes? Control panels, for example? We're hunting here, but it's a big place."
The Rabbi took a tortch and picked up the phone in his office,
"Yes, connect me to the Barronians, yes I'll hold. . . . . Hello, this is Rabbi Moshe Baruch of Kibbutz Dan. What's going on here?"
"Rabbi, a pleasure to hear from you. This is Lieutenant-Commander Robert Montford. Seems were having a little technical difficulty, the bulkhead doors have shut us in. We're working on a solution, however, and look to have the situation under control momentarily."

OOC: A crappy little sub entered a flooded maintenance passage, offlaoed cargo, and then ran off...
OOC: I meant, what were the things you unloaded
IC:
"Thank you. We are concerned if this is a power failure. Nevertheless, I have sent out a team out to find the problem."

OOC: Am I to understand that that basalt layer was 500 meters thick? Hmm... since most of the domes are taken, I might try an alternate approach.
\OOC: The basalt layer is 500 metres thick, but it is not known what is beneath, as the signals were to feeble to get any sensitive readings....
