I propose to code each airline. There is a page on the Wiki for airlines. They don't have codes though.

Could everyone commnet on this and tell me what codes they want.

Arridia created the wiki page for airline companies and help is needed to restructure it like the airports one so that there is no confusion.

The codes will include letters as wel as numbers. Only firgured codes needed at thes tart.

Please state your two-figure code here. Some may havea three-letter code as already decided.
Plus, if you are ept with Wiki, it would be great to have some help with updating the apge that Ariddia created.

This belongs in NationStates or International incidents because it doesn't involve the actual NS game. BTW, check out my thread about opening up ornithological research stations in the Penguin Islands.

This should be in an RP forum. Also, I really don't think 2 letters is enought to have codes for all airlines in NS.

Also, I have already assigned my nation's airlines 3-letter codes on the wiki article.

I did wonder. Well if someone decides to move so be it. However, I noticed Itinerate tree dweller madea post here (which seeesm to be missing right now) about nation codes etc so that is why I posted here.


Now, you could patch mea link through to the Research centres.

Just following real life conventions. Trying to make it as realistic as possssible. you can keep you three letter code but mine is staying 'PA' because as I said, it makes it more real. it will look ofdd putting somehting like Flight: TRA0124A

by the way, the A is apird with B for charte flights. Yes, I've been on airplanes quite afew times and everytime I read the ticket/boarding pass.

Actually, i fail to see how a adding an extra letter lowers realism. We do not have to mimic RL with this, because most player would agree that NS is not RL.

That doesn't really stand. We all know NS isn't real life. That is obvious. Thank you for pointing it out. I would have never known.:cool:
This isn't roleplay anyway because it is a game element that allows for role-play not the act of role play itself. If however, there was an organisation whereby one could go to make these proposals THAT would be roleplay. However, there is not - at least one that is prominent. We would not be mimmicking just using the same widely understood conventions. Seeing that hardly anyone is even doing htis anyway, it won't matter having just two. Waht if even three isn't enoguh. We could go on forever.

Given the number of airlines listed already, two-letter codes clearly wouldn't be enough.

I'll use:

ARA - Ariddian Airlines
AWA - Air West Ariddia
SWA - Sovereign Airways
WEA - Western Airlines

I will register:

AKA - Akronian Airways
RAA - Royal Akronian Airlines

Alfegos Air Cargo - A1 - A9
Alfegos Pepoples Airline - AA
ALefgos Heavy haulage - AB
