Alversia Orbit
As the shuttle drew nearer and nearer John Reynolds, the new Captain of the Democratic Space Ship Discovery, watched nervously as his new charge grew in size the closer he got. DDS Discovery had yet to be launched and so was still in Orbital Dry-dock awaiting the few final finishing touches that would set her apart from anything the Alversians had ever built.

Initially laid down as APS Terrific, a T-Class Battlecruiser, it had been intended to be the most powerful Warship Alversia had ever built. However trials with the Class forbearer, APS Trepidation, revealed the design to be flawed. It was found to lack both manoeuvrability and firepower in relation to its size. Once this evidence came to light, building of the Class was discontinued and the hulk of APS Terrific was set for demolition.

However the Alversians, in co-operation with the Xiscapians, decided to convert Terrific alone into a new scientific/exploration Warship, able to undertake all three tasks effectively. To that end, she was completed and armed by the Alversians while engines and computer systems were dealt with by expert Xiscapians. She was commissioned soon after and transferred to ODD-3 to await completion.

Now John was travelling to the ship ahead of the crew and only slightly ahead of the rest of the Officers. All had been given Alversian rankings, simply to give the ship a uniformed hierarchy. Certain members of the Flight crew were already on board but most were still preparing on the planet.

One of those onboard was Flight Lieutenant Cavourna, already running over the Xiscapian Flight controls to ensure that he knew how to pilot the ship before the rest of the crew arrived. He grinned as one of the scopes showed the Captain’s Shuttle preparing to dock. It was going to be an interesting experiment to see if so many different services could co-operate in a single ship…

A second shuttle followed the first. On board was Lt. Skyler and Commander Foxfire. Sklyer was relaxed and calm, while Foxfire was excited. "Nice...looks kind of like our old Dundarr class battleships." said Foxfire, looking at the Discovery. "Yes," said Skyler. "It's big." Foxfire grinned. "Armament 18 Broadside cannons, 32 AA turrets, and 2 Sponson mounted Ion Cannons. It can reach sublight speeds of up to warp 9, with hyperspace speeds even faster..." He continued to recite stats and quote articles on the ship. Skyler sighed and looked out at Alversia. Beautiful planet. she thought. Might be the last time I ever see it. Who knows what we may encounter out there?A short time later the shuttle docked and she and Foxfire got ready to board the ship.

The Xiscapian shuttle was picked up by the newly installed sensors and a message relayed from the bridge to the shuutle itself

Xiscapian Shuttle, this DDS Discovery asked what is your cargo and
destination?

Cavourna grinned as he pressed the earpiece tighter into his own ear. He already knew the 1st Officer and Security personnel were coming aboard. At the same time, the rest of the crew was beginning to arrive as each intended to get used to the ship before setting out into the unknown.

Captain Reynolds was sitting on the bridge watching the Xiscapians through the main screen. He smiled, it would be good to have an Xiscapian 1st Officer advising him. He still wasn't sure what their maiden mission would be, doubtless it would be dangerous...

A shuttle headed for the Discovery, carrying Lan'ti. He sat with his head bowed, eyes closed. What would they meet out there? Could be anything...
But it could be Locust. The shuttle docked and Lan'ti awaited permission to step out.

Xiscapian Shuttle, this DDS Discovery asked what is your cargo and
destination?
The pilot was about to reply when Foxfire stepped into the cockpit. "Here, let me respond."

DDS Discovery, you know damn well what our cargo and destination is, stop fooling around, Cavourna, or I'll get Skyler to kick your ass.
Foxfire grinned and gave the pilot back his comm unit. "But sir, those are allies you were talking to!" said the pilot, wide-eyed. Foxfire chuckled. "Don't worry, Pilot, I know that comm Officer personally, me and Skyler both, we're just being idiots."

Cavourna couldn't stop himself laughing as he pressed the earpiece again to communicate with the shuttle

Certainly Sir, You are cleared to Dock One Bay Three. And be quick about it we
ain't got all day!

He turned to the Templar shuttle next and contacted it through the communicator

Templar Shuttle you have clearance to Dock One Bay One. Be careful
there's another shuttle on the same flight path

He leant back for moment as John wandered over and watched the monitors, of various shuttles landing and leaving, over his Flight Officer's shoulder
"It begins Lt. Commander" was all he said after a while
"Yes Sir" Cavourna answered watching the first Broadside crews taking a tour of the Gun Deck. He had a feeling they would be needed eventually.

The shuttle docked in the appropriate area. After unloading all the gear, the shuttle took off again for Alversia. Foxfire and Skyler made their way to the bridge to recieve their first orders.

John came up the two Xiscapians and shook each's hand in turn, a wide grin on his face "Welcome to DSS Discovery" he said while walking back to his chair "No doubt you will look upon this masterpiece with the same pride as we do. I don't need to introduce you to our Flight Officer..." Cavourna gave a friendly wave from one of the control panels "And you will get to know the rest of the crew as you encounter them. I can offer you these..." he held out two earpieces similiar to the ones that he and Cavourna were wearing

"These will allow you to communicate with the rest of the crew should you need to do so. Lieutenant" He said this to Skyler "Do you wish to meet your security team? They are waiting in the brig for the Security Officers to arrive" As he laid Skyler out of the room Cavourna got up and walked up to Foxfire. He stared at him in silence for a while before grinning and extending his hand "Welcome to the Discovery, Sir!" he said happily

The shuttle docked then headed back for Alversia. Lan'ti stepped off and whistled quietly to himself as he walked towards the bridge. He got a few funny looks from a few crew members. Not many people ever see a Void Marine and live to speak about them.

One of the newly arrived Security Personnel hustled up to Lan'ti and saluted him. He touched the piece in his ear and spoke to the Captain for a few moments. After a while he indicated that Lan'ti should follow him "This way to the Brig Sir, the Captain will meet you there" he said as he walked through the busy corridors.

In the Loikugan shuttle Yava'a kept checking the warships coordinate's, unable to believe the size of the ship. "Captain John Reynalds, this is Loikugan Shuttle 84-A, requesting permission to land, do you copy," said the pilot. Yava'a then notice the planet Alversia, only hoping their be some elaboration on the beautiful landscape....

He turned back to Foxfire "So..." he said clapping his hands togather "First Officer eh? Whatever made you want to work with us Alversians, Commander?" he laughed again

Elsewhere
"Your Security Team consists of about ten individuals, both male and female and from as many races as the Officers" John was saying as he walked though the many corridors leading to the brig. "They are armed with standard Blaster Pistols with bigger rifles stored in the brig for emergencies. Understand so far?" he recieved a message through his earpiece and, presuming Holly had turned hers on, she would hear the same thing


Security to Captain Reynolds, Lieutenant Lan'ti is enroute to the brig to meet
his team ETA 10 minutes, Over

John clapped his hands togather "Let's try and beat him there shall we? If I remember correctly it's this way to the Brig" he pointed hopefully down a corridor, "Let's go" and they were off, passing saluting men on the way down.

Yava'a finally understood what "traffic" was when he saw the mess they left. Transports of all sizes going here and there, and many close calls. "Pilot, can you manuver anyway around these people?"
"Sir, I'm doing the best I can, and can you please sit down and buckle up? This may get messy."

After a couple of minutes of jerking, manuvering, and screaming "GO TO HELL!" 9 or 10 times, the shuttle was only 300-400 yards away from the bay when a supply crew hit the engines in the back, crushing them. "Captain John Reynalds, this is Loikugan Shuttle 84-A, our engines are....broken, could you mind sending a repair team, and my lawyer?"
"Hey, do something helpful" he sneered, "and look for cutsy little ships with a wrench on it."

Cavourna scratched his head in confusion as he looked at the screen showing a ruined Loikugan Shuttle messing up his shiny new Landing Dock. Grimly he pressed several buttons, closing the dock off to outside arrivals. It would slow the loading down dramatically but, hey, these things happen. He pressed the earpiece and spoke to the Shuttle
"No harm to ye but you've just crashed into one of the Supply Drones, it doesn't have a brain except not to crash. I wouldn't blame it. You were swerving all over the place even though the others would have moved out of you way. Standard Alversian Procedure, Arrivals have the Right of Way"
He turned it off and leant back for a moment before pressing his earpiece again "Can I have a Repair Crew to Dock Two please?"
It wasn't going to be easy this.

Foxfire grinned in response to Cavourna's question. "I was excited about the exploitory vessal thing and decided to come along."

Skyler took off down the hall with the Commander, running easily and not even breaking a sweat, her Shadow Ops trainers having done well.

After a couple of minutes, the repair crew arrived, and, with no Loikugan knowlegde whatsoever. They were only able to draw the ship in to see what they could salvage. Yava'a, not leaving Loikugh for 30 some years, was still not used to regulations and "protocols". He started to unpack textpads, equipment, and rare Loikugan artifacts, just glad to be out of the open space.

seven Quantum rifts opened a safe distance from the docks and other orbital facilities as the Kratnen Carrier Veshta's wing exited hyperspace with her escort of six frigates 2 wings of strike craft launching as soon as the rits had closed taking up defencive positions as was standard prosedure for the kratnens.

defencive and diplomatic operations where new for the Kratnens haveing long domination there own corner of space only recently encountering races they couldn't overwhelm and subjegate

Lt. commander Jenta Kavnoc waited impatiently in the shuttel that would take her over to the DDS Discovery she wasn't pleased with this assignment. she would rather have a human at the end of a gun then be forced to work with them but if such was the will of the empire the so be it she would fulfill her obligations and carryout her duties with the same efficenc and efective ness and respect for her superiours she would give if she were serving on a Kratnen vessal

Alversian Medical

Dr Everett finished paching her personal equipment and made her way to the launchpad waiting transport that would take her up to the DDS Discovery she had hoped to arive earlyer to meet the arivals and prepair for the standard physicals that all new crew members on any ship had to undergo at some point so get there physical information and medical records

she didn't notace when the pilot asked for permision to dock as she had her nose in a Alversian medical text refreshing her memory on Alversian medical practices and equipment

a small craft slightly battered but still servicable flies in from the planet. the ship itself has the markings of the Schwullunde space corps as well as a brand new stencled Discovery Marker on its hull. the craft itself is silver-grey in color, like brushed metal. as it slows to move alongside the Discovery, it hails the ship.
this is the wolfshead. Lt Commander Samael Markovar Speeking. Also on board is Dr Keol-Ska. permission to come abourd.


ooc couldn't resist bringing the wolfshead along. its a decomissioned Fighter that has had extensive modifications to the interior and exterior. newer more compact impulse Engines instaid of the bulky old fusion engine. weapons are standered pulse lasers 3 Twt. it has a cloaking field, hyperspace jump generator 3.5 HSp, and a matter transporter added.
the rest of the small ship is a small cargo hold which doubles as sleep quarters, and a 3 man Helm.

Ensign Jay Wright waited aboard the Space Station Explorer to aboard a shuttle. He had all the nessecary equipment to board the Space Shuttle he had everything. He need for the long journey he had his Vilyan Air temple Charm and other Important items gave to him. Colonel Black walked and the room and said

he gave a salute and step aboard the Colonel Salute and backed up and walked away. The Shuttle Powered up and the Hanger Doors opened up the shuttle lifted up and blast up aboard couple minutes later they appoarched the DDS Discovery and Radioed in

Seth enterd the ship from a transport, he went to foxfire with a almost cold face: Security sir.

Foxfire shook his head. "Security just went that way." he said, indicating the direction Skyler and John had gone.

Seth made his way to war Skyler and John had moved.

From a good deal away from the ship, Duron Taylor's personal Nemesis-class fighter jumped from hyperspace, a sleek and wide fighter craft that excelled in atmospheric fight but was more than formidable in space. Taylor hadn't been negligent on the fighter either-with modifications that had extended the craft's rear body and boosted the energy core, the craft now was equipped heavier, faster, and stronger-the only downside being that it was now bigger. However, it was more than capable of engaging like-sized ships and larger ones.

Coming on an inbound vector, Taylor sent his transponder codes remotely to the command console on Discovery. A new dawn, something to put his name down by rather than just firing guns from a battlecruiser for his life-one that would probaly be destroyed anyway sooner or later, it was getting old. Discovery presented a rare opportunity, and he was getting a shot-good enough for a bit of fun and to do something new.

Taylor set a course for the second docking bay, angling the fighter in and lowering shields as he made final approach.

Lan'ti saw Foxfire and walked up to him.
"I suppose I'm late then, sir." He sighed, and said "Sgt. Lan'ti sir, security. Where are the others?"

John waited with the amassed security teams while his Lieutenants arrived, they would be in charge of the Ships security as well as acting as Marines if the time came. He smiled, this was going to be an interesting maiden mission

Bridge

Cavourna waited for a few moments before giving landing signals to the Nemesis-class fighter that had appeared, he wanted it to land in a set bay so it wouldn't distract any incoming traffic.
He was relieved to hear the Medical team arriving and promptly gave them landing instructions. The Officers were all arriving and soon he would they would be able to cast off and use the Hyperdrive for the 1st time.

He leant back and relaxed for a moment, it was great that Discovery would soon be moving even if there were NC aboard. He still remembered that war, even if it was a while back.

KIN Carrier Vesshta's wing

Lt.Com. Kavnoc Launched from the Port launch bay of the carrier in her personal Kattika class fighter it was a hold over from her races more brutishdays where warriers of rank owned there own mounts and such traditions carried on into space where for those fortunate enough fighters took the place of mounts

she chose a path to the landing decks of the Discovery weaving gracefully through the trafic the "wings" of her ship slightly spinning being driven by the internal friction of the couplings... it wasn't a design flaw it was done on purpouse making the ship harder to hit

"This it Leutenant Commander Jenta Kavnok requesting permision to land" She took the final moments to make sure Condencer was fitted properly as she waited for acnolagement from the ship

DDS Discovery

Dr Everett went strate to the medical bay rather than to her quaters she would wait untill after she had met all of her staff and given the introdutorary speack before seeking out her quatrers and then would begin the monumentl task of checking over all the medical files

"Roger Lieutenant Commander, you have permission to land in Dock Three Bay One" Cavourna continued to type on the console. It wouldn't be long now before the rest of the Flight Crew arrived and he would be able to fire up the engines for test run.

the coordanents apeared on her display and the computer ploted the best flight path and she accelerated towards the landing exicuting one final spin before locking the wings at almost the last second gliding into the bay coming to almost a compleat stop as she guided her fighter to its new dock

the landing gear extended as the fighter finaly came to a sompleat stop setteling down onto the deck plating she finished powering down the systems. the cockpit opened and she got a wif of the sips normal air before her condencer kicked in humans, how do they servive in this enviroment she aproached the dek officer and asked directions to the bridge.

it was a good thing she had studied common otherwise she wouldn't hve understould a word the offier had said but she was able to make sence of the instructions and proeaded to the lift that would take her to the bridge.

a short ride later the doors to the lift opened and she steped onto the bridge and was greated but the noise of several stations preforming final systems checks calling commands across the room as the ship was readied for launch. she waled over to the Captain and saluted in the Kratnen fassion the right hand perpendicular to the face fingers pointing strait up "Sir Leutenant Commander Jenta Kavnoc reporting for duty" she felt distinctly out of place amoungst all the humans sofar being the only non human she had seen but she would honour the Empire and follow there orders even if she didn't like it

OOC: The Captain's in Security, the 1st Officer, who is Xiscapian, is currantly the Officer of the watch.

Cavoura suddenly snapped to attention, he'd forgotten the Flight Crew!. He quickly typed a few buttons on the console before radioing back to the shuttle

Foxfire bowed, as custom to those an Xiscapian has not met before. "Security went that way." he repeated, pointing in the direction that Reynolds, Skyler, and Seth had gone.

Skyler turned to Reynolds. "Sir, with all due respect, what kind of small craft does this ship have? We have a number of LAMs, HAMs, fighters, scout craft, and patrol craft we could lend you."

Cavourna grinned as the Lieutenant left "You're the 1st Officer!" he said "Try to act with authourity" he blew his chest up "like me"

John thought for a moment as he brought the memorised notes up from his mind "We have a squadron of XX-40 Fighters, four shuttles, four land buggies and various other pieces of equipment. It should suffice" He smiled as the last security Lieutenant arrived "Right" he said clapping his hands togather "Time to sort these teams out"

Lan'ti bowed back and said, "Right. Thanks for that." He walked off in the direction the Xiscapian had indicated.

Foxfire smiled and shook his head. "For all the time you've spent among us, your knowledge of our customs is lacking. I could be the Emperor himself and I would still have to bow to someone I didn't know. It's common curtosy, and a terrible insult if you don't. Now that I know him, however, and he is "below" me in ranking, I no longer have to bow."

Cavourna nodded his head and looked back at the control panel "I know as much about Xiscapian customs as you do Alversian" he said while typing a few things into the control panel "I'm expecting a message from the Admirality for the Captain about our first mission" he said

You'll be directly responsible for them although there are more security teams under the command of Sergeants throughout the ship" John looked at his watch, he was expecting an important message any moment now.

"You mean the Flight Officer?" the man asked, he was wearing the Alversian Security uniform as well as sporting a blaster "He'll be on the bridge. If you'd kindly follow me Sir I can show you the way" He began to lead Jay through a series of corridors towards the bridge

"Sergeant!" barked Skyler. Kartosh immeditatly snapped to attention. "Ma'm!" "Sergeant, how well trained are you?" "Ma'm, I trained with the best Ma'm!" "Stop saying Ma'm, just call me Sir, it will simplify things." "Sir, yes Sir!" "At ease, Sergeant." The Xiscapian relaxed. The group was made up of 13 Alversians and 7 Xiscapians. The Xiscapians came from the Black Guard, SRS, and Shadow Ops training camps. Skyler didn't know where or how the Alversians had been trained, but it was surely the Alversian equivilant to each class. Skyler turned to Reynolds. "Can you or someone else show me to my quarters for a minute so I can deposit my bags?"

Suddenly the panel in front of Cavourna started to beep and a series of digits began to appear on the screen. Cavourna frowned "Encoded! Surely the Admiralty had no need to encode simple flight plans?" He shrugged and relyed the message through to Captain Reynolds in the brig.

John enjoyed watching the Security being put through basic maneovers by the Lieutenant. Xiscapia had not disappointed in either her officers nor her personnel choices. He recieved the message from the Bridge immediately and smiling said to Holly "Would you mind showing the other Lieutenants to their security Teams then they will escort to your quarters. I have some urgent business to attend to" then he was off in the lift and out of sight.

While in the lift he used his earpiece to contact Foxfire "Will Commander Foxfire please meet me in my private quarters please?" he wanted his First Officer to hear the orders as well.

OOC: Her name's Skyler, sorry if I keep typing Holly, old habits die hard.
IC: Skyler used the commlink on her head. "All security Lt.s, please report to Deck 8, Level C. Repeat, all security Lt.s, please report to Deck 8, Level C."

Foxfire spoke into the comm. "Will do." he said good-bye to Cavourna and turned on heel, on his way to the Capatin's private quarters.

John waited at his desk until Foxfire arrived "Commander" he said, indicating that Foxfire should sit. Once he had, John turned to the large monitor behind his desk and typed in his new Level-X code, granting him access to the highed level of secret documents, such as the one on his computer now

Admiral Danin appeared onscreen, an greying, well built man who looked far beyond his years

These instructions are for your Primary viewing, who you chose to see them
afterwards is no concern of mine however here are your orders.
You are to chart and explore an area of space known as the Gānian System.
To our knowledge no modern race has exploring this area so it seems to be
the perfect test for our new DSS. Be warned however to even reach the area
you must travel through Danaversian Space...John swore at this point drowning out the next part of the order
...APS Castor and APS Hamlet can escort you as far as the Frontier but after

John switched off the monitor and swore again for a while before turning to Foxfire "What do you think?" he asked, trying to keep calm

"Danaversian Space." said Foxfire. "You had a war, many years before the Korr war, with them, didn't you? Who are they?"

John snorted

"We've had a war with them recently. They claim to own several of the moons along our frontier. The people believe themselves to be Alversian and so we defend them. We have fought the Danaversians many times over the past few years. There's an uneasy ceasefire on at the moment. Both sides have been using the time to build up strength along the entire Frontier"

He looked out the window just over Foxfire's shoulder

"You want to know where the majority of the Alversian Armed forces are? Deployed along the border. Both sides are heavily guared so I have no idea how we are going to sneak through"

"These so-called Danaversians, what is their tech level? If it is your tech or lower, we could provide a capital-ship cloaking device, which is, no offense, years beyond your standered cloaks. Anyway, why can't we go around? Are they that extensive?"

He chuckled
"A Danaversian Barracuda is equal to a Dreadnought in terms of firepower although the Conger is outclassed by the XX-40. Their technology is modern and believe me if there's a way around, them buggers'll have closed it off by now. We may be able to creep through one of the quieter parts of the line but to pass undetected will need a miracle"

Foxfire nodded. "Hmm...What we need is a distraction. Something that looks like a full-frontal assault, but is really a diversion to help slip us though their lines. If you'd like, we can send a few ships to attack along with yours, reinforceing the illusion that we are attacking. While they are concentrated on that area, we can get past them with all speed.

John instantly shook his head

"That last War alone cost Alversia 350,000 men and women. No way will the Admiralty allow Alversian Dreadnoughts to cross the DMZ, not in a million years"

He was silent again for a few moments as he thought

"It MAY be possible to sneak across the DMZ if we pierce it in a quiet sector of the front. If we could get through there then we could go hell for leather until we left their space. It would seem the best option at the moment"

"Alright. Two questions: Do they have inabilitator fields, and does anyone else on-board know about this?"

"One answer: No and No"

Foxfire nodded. "The absense of such fields will make it much easier. When do you plan to tell the crew? Can I tell Skyler, at least? She's trustworthy."

Yava'a walked aboard the ship looking at the working crew and mass interior, unable to understand the amount of space needed for "Alversions" and "Xiscapia". He eventually saw John and Foxfire walk out of the command bridge deep in a consersvation, not even bothering to close the door. Despite his training of modesty, he slid in and looked around. He eventually noticed some Loikugan design in the Life Support controls, only to be modified to have humidity and shades for the sleep cycle. Not understanding why it was there, he eventually put two and two together and finally saw that a designer must of salvaged it from a scrap ship. Only problem is that Loikugans highly demand to salvage their own "dead ships"....but before he could think it out, his senses kicked in and ran out, and turned a corner just before some security came by.

John thought for a moment "The crew will have to be told but I think it important that at least the Officers know first." He was thinking how to avoid teh Danaversians once they were on the other size of the DMZ. Certainly the APN couldn't help them.

Foxfire saw the Captains worried expression. "I recomend that once we pass the DMZ we run for it, as fast as we can. Hopefully they won't have time to imploy Indirector Cruisers. Don't worry. We'll get though this. We always have."

Yava'a eventually went to his living quarters and tried to piece together what he just saw and did. John, assuring him that the Alversians don't take this and that, sent him to his room like a dad to a whining and very "pitiful" kid. He was just wishing that the equipment flew close to the planet and they just salvaged it. Just hoping he was right, he laid out some maps to look over for courses, ignoring the pain of guilt.....

Seth walked into the bridge: What's this about crossing a DMZ?

OOC: Uh, NC, we're in the Captain's private quarters :p. I have an idea: Go insult Sklyer. She'll get made and, if you insult her bad enough, attack you. You get a sword or FT equivilent from somewhere and we fight. Yes, I'm bored. So how about it?

Seth, after putting his things in his quarters, walked the corridors. He noticed Sklyer and said: Alien.

Seth: I said Alien, that's what you are, a creature spawned from some gloomy place, you and your family, and there's before them. Like dogs.

Skyler bared her teeth. "Watch it, asshole, you're pissing me off. Leave before I wipe the floor with you."

Cavourna left the Bridge for the first time in hours and began to walk down to the living quarters. He was looking forward to some sleep before the Discovery cast off and went away on her first mission. On his way, he noticed two of the Security Personnel squaring up to a match of some sort. A crowd was gathering around them and Cavourna slipped into the middle of it. He put a finger to his earpiece and whispered "Security to Deck Four"

Cavourna signalled to them "Wait until my signal before you move in" he could see several members of the security teams moving into the crowd. One move and he could have them arrested

"Gotcha, sir." He positioned himself in the crowd so that, on the order, he could rush straight in to the middle and break it up.

Skyler stood opposite of Seth, ringed by the crowd, waiting for him to do something. Foxfire stood at the edge of the crowd, calm and relaxed until he saw Skyler. "What are you doing?!" he shouted. Skyler turned towards him. "He insulted me, and I am going to beat some sense and respect into his sorry ass." Foxfire shook his head. Skyler had a hot temper, liable to go off and smack someone for the slightest insult. This had earned her the nickname "Little Fury" in the military ranks. Foxfire turned to John. "What do we do?"

roger dock 3, Wolfshead out. with the conformation to dock samael manouvered the wolfshead toward the docking bay. as the ship moved toward the bay suddenly it stalled. Bloody hell swore samael, now this was annoying . all the way from schwullunde no problems and this thing stalls now. after sending a message to the discovery, he gets up and prepairs to fix the ship.

3 hrs later

finally the wolfshead starts back up and Samael continues to manouver into docking bay three. as the ship moves into the bay samael can see that several of the bay crew are standing around looking annoyed. aww well so much for a good first impression. well no time like the present thinks samael as he lowers the wolfshead to the deck.

OOC sorry for the delay, it rained last night and has fouled up the lines. still slow but i was able to get on and post this. i came up with this as an explanation for the delay in game. i will try to post again tommorow, hopefully lines should clear by then. If nothing else figure that my characters are busy moving into quarters. when i do post i will try to catch up.

The Engineer in charge of the docking crew tapped his watch impatiently as the Wolfshead landed. He had been looking to clock off early but instead it looked as though he was going to be late. Marvellous

John looked at both Seth and Skyler for a moment as he weighed up the possible punishments. After a few moments, he spoke
"I will let this one pass under the bridge but know this, we are going to working togather a crew, as one entity. If we are to survive our time aboard this ship then we need to work togather instead of being at each other's throats"
After letting this sink in with the fighters and the bystanders John spoke again "Will all Officers please follow me to the briefing room"

Cavourna stood the Security teams down and followed his Captain down the hall puzzled. What was the problem about? Maybe it was the broadcast from earlier?

Skyler stepped away, totally relaxed. "You got off." she said to Seth before following Foxfire and John.

OOC: Alversians, generally, do like senior members of Security squaring up to each other in front of the crew :p

John walked through the various corridors and lifts until he reached the vast Briefing room located just one deck below the bridge. It had a magnificant view out of the massive bay windows. At the moment, they were filled with the lush greenery of Alversia. John sat down at the head of the table and waited for rest of his Officers to file in and take a seat.

IC: Foxfire and Sklyer sat near the back. "Listen close." said Foxfire as everyone sat down.

John stood up at one end of the room and tapped on the monitor that rested there. It began to play the message from the Admiralty and the warning about Danaversian interference. Once it had finished, He went over and sat down again.

Cavoura looked as though he'd been slapped. His mouth was slightly open and he wouldn't take his eyes off John. Alversia and Danaversia had much bad blood from over the years.

"As you can see" John began "We have been given a baptism of fire. We are to cross the DMZ between our territory and that of the Danaversians. Now i think I may have found a point in the zone where the defences are light enough for us to pass through. Once we're through, we burn hell-for leather across their territory until we are clear of their airspace. That is the bare minimum of information. Does anybody have question?"

Cavourna was still too stunned to answer

Foxfire looked appreciativly at Taylor. That was more or less what he'd said just minutes before.

Taylor had gotten around quick enough; he knew ships, and there was very little variance on the tech-reliant races-which it seemed the Alversians were. The fight had been barely amusing-Duron had passed it by until the captain had asked for all officers to report to the ready room. A bit of a delay, as Duron wanted to be able to test out the limits of the tactical systems before launch-something that could define success or failiure in combat was knowing what you were working with and what you were working against. He'd have to get to know the sensor operator, of course, so he could be working with the best possible information from the best possible source. Any sort of advantage was still that-an advantage.

As the captain posed up his scenario, Duron was already thinking of plenty of ways that this would fail-a potential hole in the hostile screen wouldn't last long, and the longer they waited, the hole would grow smaller-even if there was a hole. It was entirely possible that this was misinformation and that the defenses were stout. A better idea would be to lead an Alversian force in a preemptive manuever to draw off forces to clear out the way for the Discovery to pass through unscathed, and better yet, undetected, through hostile space. Taylor decided that he'd suggest it.

"'Scuse me sir," he said, "Duron Taylor, your tactical officer. A may be here for tactical operations, but I'm versed well enough on strategic operations through enough combat to know that going in alone could be virtual suicide. Just how much support is the Alversian government giving us here? A better option for our survival would be for a preemptive strike on another zone of hostile coverage to draw out defenders from other zones of defense, than to split the then-unoccupied areas to allow for a clear passage with a better shot of avoiding hostile resistance. I have very little idea of the full capabilities of Discovery besides the actual statistics themselves-and going unproven into a battle that could very well be setting us up alone could very well prove to be fatal."

"The Veshta's Wing might be willing to provide the nessicary distraction" she spoke up "that way you can avoid any unnessicary Political complications" that and it would give the Kratnens a reason to pick a fight not that they needed one but it was a damn sight better then sitting on ones ass talking

Dr. Holly Everett stoold before her assembled medical staff the nurses and other doctors "well folks we have the honour of being part of the Crew of the Discovery well be heading out into unknown space where anything can happen. we are likely going to encounter other races with there own illnesses that out imune systems cant cope with unknown flora and fauna Parisites bacteria and god knows what else but that dosn't make it all bad.... these new peoples might have medical advancements we havent seen be fore new medicens new technologies and who knows we might be the ones to find the merical cure for everything out there.

you all have specialties in diffrent feilds Xenobiology, Herbology, Nurology and even psycology " she nodded to the ships councler who had been included "you are the best in your feilds or you wouldn't be here, i'm confident that as a team we can handle whatever comes out way and hopefully the worst is a bout of the common cold" there was a bit light laughter To your stations people if i'm correct the captain plans to disembark soon if anyone needs me i'll be on the bridge making my introductions to the captain" with that the assembled staff seperated and moved to there station to prep for disembarcation as Holly made her way to the bridge greating crew members as she made her way through the decks to the lift that would take her to the bridge.

the ride was uneventfull and the lift opened onto an impresive sight as officers and crew where running final checks on systems the most distinctly Alien Officer sitting in the second officers station but that was to be expected with such a divers crew though most while from difrent nations where still human wich made the medical job that much eazyer.

she looked around trying to identify the Captain not being used to the Alversian uniforms yet

Foxfire followed John out of the room. "Sir, if I may have a moment..." he said, tapping him on the shoulder. "Sir, if the plan fails, what's the back-up plan?"

Skyler walked out of the room to her quarters, where she retrieved her katana and put on some light body armor. Then she went about her duties, mataining order and patroling.

John sighed and shook his head sadly
"The Kratnans insist on getting into a battle without thinking of the consequences. Do they truly believe that Danaversians won't think for even ONE second that because their ships came across our side of DMZ that we had something to do with it? My concern is not only for this ship but those I will leave behind. My parting gift shall not be a war"

He thought for moment at Foxfire's question before shaking his head again
"There is no back-up. I think with our brand new engines we can out run them, however if they catch up to us then two things can happen
At best they'll send us back across the DMZ with nothing worse than a slap on the wrist
At worse, they will destroy us there and then"

He arrived at the bridge and looked around at the various crewmembers carried out their jobs. He smiled, the best to be at cast-off was on the bridge. He looked around and noticed two Alversian Dreadnoughts hanging near the docks
"There's our escort gentlemen!" he said happily "time to set the ball in motion. Are all stations ready?"
One everyone had confirmed he asked Cavourna "Have ODD-3 given us the go ahead?"
Cavourna typed a few things into the consolde in front of him and nodded
"OOD-3 have confirmed, release in 3...2...1..."

As he said this, there was a shriek of metal as the vast jaws which had hugged the sides of the ship began to seperate. After a while the Discovery dropped a short way, then she was steady.

"Discovery is under her own steam Sir!" Cavourna called, glancing over various monitors. He turned around "Set a course for the DMZ?"

John thought "aye, tell the Dreadnoughts and plan a route with the Navigator that'll bring us close to the point without being detected"

"Yes, Sir" Cavourna sighed as he got up and left the bridge, nearby he noticed the two Dreadnoughts take up position on either side of the Discovery and keep just a way back.

John turned to Foxfire "Here goes nothing" he said

Foxfire laughed. "Famous last words, Captain, not to jinx the mission."

Lt. Commander Markovar quickly stepped out of the ship, looked around saw the dock manager impatiant looks. sorry about that, I will of course work on this old thing in my spare time.
slowly stepping out of the wolfshead Dr. Keol-Ska unperturbed said How many times have i offered to have a repair crew fix that blasted thing, at least a million. looking around Dr Ska says I beleave Lt Cmdr that we have a briefing to attend, lets not keep the Captain waiting.

Making their way to the briefing room. the Dr and the Lt Cmdr enter the room for the briefing.

Jenta ignored the remark as it was coming form the captian if it was anyone els there feet would be dangling afoot above the ground with her fist around there throte pinning them agenst the nearest wall but he was the captain so she would let it pass

She felt the ship shudder as the docking clamps releaced then after afew moments the main drives kicked in and the ship slowly began moving forwards the crew cheared as they cleared the docks

it wasn't the spectcal of the launch of a Kratnen Ship but it was inspiring in its own way as the ship turned the moon came into view on the screen and Jenta stould and placing her right hand over her heart and her left on her forhead

"Vek Kavena Yatevik Tosh" she spoke in a solem voice before bowing to the moon holding it for afew moments before retakeing her seet

Seth patroled the hallways, keeping order, always keeping an eye on the Xscipians, especially the female.

"Steady as she goes Ensign" Cavourna muttered as they cleared Alversian orbit and headed out to open space. He still wasn't sure about this. The Danaversians would not like a ship as big as Discovery wandering through their lines. The DSS prefix would not stop them. Hopefully, however if they rana scan they would note it was a Diplomatic ship as opposed to a Dreadnought. Having said that, as Discovery had been built from the hulk of an abandoned Dreadnought, then it would be curious to see their reaction. He just hoped they could get the gun deck ready in time.

After being lifted up 5 feet into the air by a mini-Kong, most people back down. He walked off without waiting for an answer.

Skyler leaned against a wall, bored. Her patrol had ended minutes ago without incident, and she stood up straight, deciding to go to the sparring room for some practice. Just because she was inside a ship didn't mean she shouldn't mantain her training. She strode off in that direction.

Seth noticed Skyler heading for the sparing room, he put on his helmet and armor, and followed her.

"Why not?" Skyler walked into the room. It was huge, with V.R. ports, sparring mats, weapon test ranges, mats and bars for acrobatics and gymnastics, and weapons to dual and sparr with. "How do we want to do this?" Skyler asked. "Laser rifle, pistol, sword, knifes, fist-fight, hand-to-hand, what?" She looked at him. "You know, anything beyond no weapons combat will be done via V.R."

The DMZ was coming up, and though Taylor had crossed defensive lines before-the Dominion's own "DMZ", the Conduit, was considerably more reinforced with a gigantic force-he still wanted to get past quickly and without incident. He was unsure of his staff that would be working the weapons, unlike in Spartan, where he was sure of all his crew and abilities. He needed to know who he could trust and who still needed some work.

At his station, Taylor brought up specs on the vessel's lateral cannons designed for engaging in broadside attacks. Not always the best system-Taylor's vessel had been designed for strategic attacks from distance to allow the lighter ships to get in and muss up things while he picked away at shield or defensive lines with heavy torpedo fire. The guns seemed to be able to do some damage-but likewise, Taylor needed to know what he'd be up against. Bringing up a database, the Alversian specs had little on the opposites across the line's true specifications-something that would have to be gauged in combat.

Seth smiled: How about a knife fight?

Captain Reynolds came to the bridge as the DMZ came into view. He whistled loudly. Over 2,000 Alversian Warships and 2,500 Danaversian warships manned the DMZ, laced with minefields, hidden turret emplacements and missile launchers. Both sides had been thouragh in their efforts to keep the other out. Minefields and Turrets would be a key difficulty during the crossing. Afterwards, it would purely be trying to outrun the Danaversian fleet. He watched as the ship straightened and prepared to run through the prearranged gap in the line "Shields up" he ordered to one of the crew before nodding his head at Cavourna.

Cavourna pulled a large lever in his control panel until it could go no further. He took a deep breath and tapped a button in front of him. Ahead, space seemed to get faster and faster until the DMZ was right on top of them "All crew, brace for impact!" John shouted as the Discovery hit the frontier.

There was a large trembling as the ship passed through the Alversian barrier shields on their side of the DMZ, wither the velocity would carry them through would be another matter.

It would take about an hour and a half to clear the extensive DMZ, until then, they were in no mans land.

"Gentlemen" John said "Welcome, the land of the dead"

Seth smiled: How about a knife fight?
Skyler nodded grimly. "Alright." She stepped into the V.R. dome. Immediatly the dome went up. A dirty city street, deep in the slums, appeared around them. Sklyer pulled a knife from it's sheath that was on her belt. She crotched slightly, blade outward. "Let the games begin." she murmered.

Skyler moved her hand out of the way, laughing at the slow human reflexes. She grabbed his kife hand and pulled him up against her, bringing her knife up to stab him in the stomach.

Seth coughed as the knife went into his stomach, he held her hand that had stabbed him. He used his free hand to put his knife into her collar.

The knife cut though skin, slicing and jabbing her collar bone. She grunted and threw the human across the room. Holding the shallow cut closed, Skyler took the knife out of her skin and threw it at Seth.

Seth was on his side groaning in pain, blood poured out of his wound, he slowly pulled the knife out, as this was happing the thrown knife landed in his shoulder. he let out a welp, almost passing out.

"I believe," said Skyler, her hands over her wound. "That I win." the dome opened and they were back in the Real world, with no knifes, injuries, or blood.

Skyler gave a nod that was almost a bow. "We could continue with...other things." she spread her hands. "Swords, target practice, fighter sims, we could even work together against multiple A.I. opponents."

Laughter came from inside the dome, it was Cavourna's voice:
"Very good Lieutenant, I'm impressed. The Alversian Navy doesn't teach sword skills like that anymore"

He was standing in the nearby monitoring room with the technicians to ensure that nothing in the VR rooms got too serious

"What'll it be next, eh?"

Seth: I guess we should try working as a team, i better get used to the fact that we got to work together.

Lan'ti entered the VR room. Seeing the Xiscapian and Cavaleran, he stopped.
"I didn't think anyone else was in here. Are you up for a battle? Unarmed, armed, working together, whatever."

Seth nodded at Skyler.

Skyler looked from Seth to the new arrival. It would be doubly hard working together now, as Lan'ti reminded her of a Korr. "I think we should begin with some basic hand-to-hand." she said softly.

Cavourna in the MR heard every word
"Fantastic! I think I'll pick it if it doesn't put you out! Let's see" there was a pause for moments apart from a bit of mumbling then
"AHA! this...is...PERFECT! loose your weapons! You're about to repel a boarding party!"

Then suddenly, they were on a corridor somewhere in Discovery's living quarters. Two dead Security troops lay at the end of the hall. Running towards the group were a bunch of what seemed like angry Gorrillas carrying clubs.

Lan'ti chuckled and punched one in the stomach, broke its arm and took its club. Picking the creature up, he threw it into the throng then readied the club to attack.

Seth was suprised at the instant boarding party, he almost fell back. He looked crazly around the room for a weopon "nothing...Damit" he jumped on a gorilla and was punching at it.

Cavourna's voice boomed into the corridor where the three were fighting the boarders. He was laughing
"Need a little extra help, Lieutenants?"
An Alversian sword dropped from the roof into the hands of both Seth and Lan'ti. It was like a sabre only much thicker but seemingly more elgant

"Even though they haven't been used in...oh...about 1,000 years, let's see how you deal with our Monkey boarders now"

Skyler was suprised by the sudden transition, but lept into action, stealing a club from one and breaking it over anothers head. She flipped over the horde to the dead Security men. She picked up a blaster pistol and threw the other to Seth. "Make yourself useful!" she shouted as she fired at the boarding party from behind.

Lan'ti looked at the sword and grunted. He tucked it into his belt, then grabbed one monkey-monster and smashed its head into the ground. The then threw the club at one of the other raiders, catching it in the chest with a satisfying crack.

Kash began shooting around a corner, hitting two fo the creatures in the chest.

Schwullunde;13058171']walking down the corridor the docter spoted one of the gorilla's. hmmm i wonder exactilly what these creatures are doing here he wondered. ahh well no matter. walking directily Toward the creature the doctor simply overloads its brain with a bit of telepathy knocking it out. walking up to the now subdued creature he comms the bridge letting them know about his capture, then procedes to scan the creature's lifesigns and to take samples.

OOC: It's not wondering the corridors, Its a computer simulation in the VR Room

Seth was now in a wreslting match with one of the creatures, it was scratching at him, cutting open the left side of his face.

Seth's cheek was almost torn off, he was on pure adrenaline. He raised the weopon and hit one of the creatures in the face, he began making his way to the armory.

Lan'ti picked up the monkey attacking Seth and threw it into the wall. "Come on! Your no good in a fight if your lying down."

Skyler shot the creature tussling with Seth in the face, it fell back, the smell of blood and singed fur fell over the room. Skyler grabbed the sword out of Seth's belt and handed him the blaster. "I have the feeling that we can do better with each others weapons."

Cavourna laughed again
"Exellent thinking and ingenuity Lieutenants! Here's your reward"
At the other end of the corridor, the lift opened to reveal a group of Alversian Security troops armed with blaster rifles. They poured out and sprinted down to join the action at the other end
"When you get bored" Cavourna's voice came back on "tell me and I'll transport you to another segment"

Skyler smiled as the last of the monkey attackers went down. "Let's move on." she said to the Alversian.
OOC: I need to go for a little while, I might be back on later.

Kash made it to the armory, and grabbed his assault rifle, put a magazine in and made his way back to Skyler.

"Certainly Ma'am" he laughed again, Cavourna was enjoying this "here we are! How about...disaster training"

A loud ringing could be heard and immediately the trio were on the bridge. Two of the panels were on fire and a large chunk had been torn away from the side of the wall. Alarms were screaming loudly and the front window was also missing, replaced by an emergency force-field.

Two Ensigns lay dead over the forward control panels and a quick look around would tell them that Commander Foxfire was dead in his chair along with Commander Kavnoc lay against the side of the bridge. Lt. Commander Taylor was huntched over his instrument panel behind the bridge and Cavourna lay in the middle of the bridge. All were dead

"Right then" Cavourna began before pausing "Is that me there?" tutting "Too young to die...Anyway this is the situation: Discovery's bridge has taken a direct hit as you can no doubt tell and most of the Senior Officers have been killed. The ship is heavily damaged but a few guns are still working. Your enemy is manouevering to attack the bridge again so think fast. You have ten minutes before reinforcements arrive"

A brand new and modern Korr Superbattleship appeared onscreen and began to manoever to attack the bridge again.

Seth apperaed in the bridge, no wounds anymore, he ran to the panel. and began transferring energy from secondary systems to the shields. he yelled " i dont even get a break?"

Lan'ti manned the weapons control panel. He aimed an Ion blast, then fired it. He followed it up with a blast from the ships Broadside cannons.

Seth ran to Lanti " how are we doing?"

Skyler answered him from the ship monitors. "Shields down to 20%, but rising slowly. Engines 2 and three have been knocked out. Hanger 1 utterly destoryed. We're leaking atmosphere from the crew quarters. Bio scans show most of the ship's crew has been killed." she turned and began barking orders. "Seth, round up any survivors, then see how the gun deck is doing, I don't have any data on it. If any of the weapons are still working, fire them at once. Lanti, stay at the helm. Continue diverting power to shields, but try to get some weapon power out of her. I'll head down to the hangers and see if I can get a boarding craft. Here's the plan: We'll have a few of the survivors, ones who are wounded or non-combat, man the bridge and the guns. All of us and the rest of the troopers will take the boarding craft and get onto that battleship. I don't think we have the weapons or the shield power to trade fire, and the engines are down and damaged, making it hard for us to escape. Once on the ship we'll make for the bridge and either blow it up or force the Captain to surrender. Got it?"

Seth ran down the hallway, yelling for anyone, he encounterd 4 wounded and 2 unhurt, he had the 2 unhurt grab one of the wounded, while he fireman carryed the other. the last man wasnt hurt to badly and was able to walk.

"Good job, Seth." said Skyler into his ear via comlink as she decended to the hangers. She found 2 healthy Alversians and 1 slightly wounded Xiscapian. She sent them up to the bridge.

Seth tapped his helmet com: Orders?

"Use the ships PA comm system. Broadcast an order for all those still able to move go to the bridge. If they're wounded, tell them to contact you and you can go to them." Skyler arrived at Hanger Two. There was 2 Assualt shuttles, a lone XX-40 fighter, and a dropship. "Perfect." she said.

Seth: Got it: he ran to the comm system and broadcasted " All personal come to the bridge asap, i repeat, all personal.

Xiscapians and Alversians got up and headed for the bridge, the ship shook under renewed fire from the battleship. Skyler commed Seth. "Get them organised as fast as possible, wounded and non-combat manning the bridge and guns, able-bodied and military with me in the hanger. Once you're done, come too."

Seth grabbed an Xscipian and put him in a gunners seat. he barked "Man battlestations!" they ran to random weopon ports. he then grabbed his assault rifle and began running towards the hanger.

Seth stood next to skyler: Any plans?

OCC: Skyler is Xscipian right?

Most of the AA guns were destoryed or offline, 10 of them were still working, the gunners would provide covering fire for the landing craft. 1 of the Ion Cannons was still working, and 6 of the Broadside guns were still online. Each was manned by an Xiscapian or Alversian. A small party was left on the bridge to man the controls. A mixed force of about 60 Alversians and Xiscapians came trotting down to the assualt shuttles, the dropship was A.I. piloted to draw enemy fire. The ships were loaded and rifles and pistols were distributed to the unarmed. Off they went, out of the hanger to board the battleship.

IC: Skyler nodded. "Most of the force is going to stay near the ships. They'll draw all the other security personall and me, you, and a crack team of ex-commandos, Shadow Ops, Black Guard, and Democratic Guard will assault the bridge."

Seth groaned as they neared: How many Korr are on this ship?

Lan'ti had an idea.
"Listen, I can get us a bit of leverage, but I need to redirect some power into the ion cannons. That good with you guys? I'll hit their communication array, that might put the defenders of the ship in disarray." He waited for a response, his hands on the power grid.

Skyler winced as the A.I. controlled dropship was blown alway by AA fire. Fortunatly, there wasn't anyone on that ship. "About 8,000 . We're not planinng on staying very long. They neared the Battleship (http://pds2.egloos.com/pds/1/200608/03/65/b0012865_18544126.jpg), AA fire glancing off their sheilds and flying around them. In answer to Lan'ti's question, she shook her head. "Negative," she said into the comm link. "Frying their comms won't do anything, they have an indepdent ship-board comm system. Focus your fire on their Heavy Guns, stop them from hammering the Discovery." The assualt shuttle stuck itself to the side of the battleship, the other blew a hole in the wall of the hanger to let itself in. A demolitions Alversian blew a hole into the side of the battleship big enough to let them though. No Korr came to meet them...yet. "Remember those monkeys we fought in the other sim?" asked Skyler. "The Korr are like that, except their alot smarter and better armed." The hanger team blew up ships, shot pilots, and made general chaos in the hanger. Security teams were dispatched to deal with them. The other team, Skyler's and Seth's, remained unobserved. "Seth, you take 15 troopers and make your way to the bridge. I'll do likewise, but we'll take seprete routes." 10 Alversians and 5 Xiscapians joined Seth, while 7 Xiscapians and 8 Alversians joined Skyler. The Xiscapians were all ex-Shadow Ops or ex-Black Guard. All the Alversians were either ex-Democratic Guard to ex-Commando. They ran off down the halls. In the hanger a furious firefight ensued, lasers and bullets flying everywhere.

Cavourna's voice came online again
"Nice idea! I like it! take the fight to the enemy! But how are you going to fight your way to a superbattleship's bridge?"
Suddenly a lift opened in front of Skyler's group, pouring dozens of Korr out into the corridor.

IC: "You just love making things hard for me, don't you?" muttered Skyler as she rolled out of the way to avoid the hail of fire. "Fall back!" Skyler yelled, unleashing three plasma grenades and two frags at the Korr. They exploded, making the hall cave it, cutting the Korr of from the boarding party. One Alversian had been hit in the chest by plasma fire, and an Xiscapian had an upper ear half sliced off, but otherwise they were okay. "We'll have to find another way around." said Skyler to her team.

"Correct Lieutenant! And here's another step up"

"Discovery has been hit by another round of fire and will probably be destroyed soon. What will you do?"
A group of Korr started to chase the group as they attempted to find a way around.

"Lan'ti, keep pouring fire into the Superbattleship. Divert all power except sheild power to engines and try to get the hell away from here. Hyperspace jump if you have to, and pray the A.I. hasn't been scrambled by that last shot." Said Skyler as her team ran for it, passing doors and lifts. Finally Skyler came to the right one. Her and her team went up 4 seperate lifts. "We're near the barricks now. The lift to the bridge is just past here." wispeared Skyler. They crept forward, keeping in the shadows and away from any Korr.

"Rodger. Send me a message when your ready for evac and I'll get you outta there. He powered up the hyper-drive, the pressed the activator, which made a disappointing woop noise and cut off the lights.
"Shit! Not enough energy left in the ship to use Hyperspace, I'd have to divert all power... But one shot'll take out the ships hull."

"Negative, leave without us. We're here to do our duty, and we'll die trying. Besides, we'll never make it back across without being shot down. As for the engines, divert all power on my mark." Skyler signalled the first team, designated Blue Team. "Blue Leader, split up into squads of 7, with 1 squad of 9. Get out of the hangers and get to the Broadside gun deck. Take them out so the Discovery can have a shot at making the hyperspace jump." "Roger that Red Leader, mobilizing now, over and out." The Xiscapian leading Blue team did as commanded, fighting their way to the gun deck. "We'll need to press on." said Skyler, and they reached the lift.

"That doesn't feel right, theres no point anyways. The commanders are dead, most of the crew are dead and the ships smashed up in hostile ground." The ship shot another barrage at the Korr ship.

OOC: This is hologram, what happens is determined by Cavourna

Cavourna's laughter rang through the Korr ship and over the noises of battle
"TOO LATE!! Wave goodbye to Discovery!"
The ship exploded into millions of tiny pieces of rubble, leaving only a few scattered remains at the sight it had once been located.
Then those in the VR were instantly sitting in the briefing room of a brand new looking Discovery. Cavourna sat lazily in the Captain's seat

"What did you do wrong?" he asked simply

OOC: The Korr no longer exist they were wiped out decades ago, that is why they were chosen for the training programme

Alversia's right, Isa, nearly all the Korr and Korr ships were wiped out decades ago, most of the remaining Korr live on Xiscapia and all ships are in Xiscapian hands, deployed with the 6th salvage fleet. Besides, even if the Korr still existed, what would your attacking them have anythng to do with this thread?
IC: Skyler shook her head. "We weren't fast enough. My plan was sound. In a real situation, we would have had more warning, and thus more time to prepare."

Droppping into known Space around the Korr was a Fleet of 200 which open fire on to the Korrs
You weren't specific enough at the time for me to know that they weren't using Korr ships and that it wasn't in the VR! I'm not saying that you can't do this, (you'd have to ask Alversia about that) just that you need to be more specific about where and how you are RPing the attack. That's all.

Seth slouched: god im tired.

Cavourna looked at Skyler with a serious expression on his face "Incorrect, even if you had had all the warning in the world, the fact that all Officers were killed would not have been avoided. If I were to drop you back into the same situation, what would you do differently?" He was addressing ALL the security personnel.

Skyler shook her head. "I don't know what we did wrong, or rather, what I did wrong." She bowed her head solemnly.

Cavourna was looking casually at his fingernails, as though avoiding Skyler's gaze. "You've never heard of Order 61, no?" he asked sadly, still not looking her in the eye. It seemed he had something serious to say for once.

"An Alversian Battle Code? No. I know of Orders 44, 45, and 47, but not of 61. What is it?"

Cavoura sighed as he remembered the page in his training brief:

If an Alversian warship or a warship operating under Alversian orders is severely damaged in battle with no chance of relief or escape, the Captain may be given the right to use his ship to destroy or damage the enemy by use of physical contact. If the Captain is incapacitated at this time then responsibility of the order passes to the next Senior Officer. This Order is to be used only at the utmost end of need.

Cavourna looked at Skyler "Such an order does not exist in the Xiscapian Navy?" he was curious now "You never thought of ramming them, did you?" he was asking all the Security personnel present for their opinion

"With all due respect sir, we were confident that we would succeed and Lanki would take care of the ship. We ram only as a last resort, and, if given just a few more minutes, I'm confident that we could have disabled the ships gun's." Skyler frowned. "I have failed. My mandate demands that I go to the Garden of Honor and pray to my ancestors for forgiveness."

Seth patted her on the back: You did what you thought was right, that's all that matters in my opinion.

Skyler smiled at him. "Thank you, I'm glad you feel that way, but it still remains that I have failed. I must do better in the future."

Cavourna smiled "truth be told, there wasn't much you could have done. It was test to see how you did with the time you had" he stood up "It has been a pleasure, dismissed" and he left the room

Skyler too got up. "I need rest in my quarters before we really start to pick up speed in Danaversian space." She left.

Lt Cmdr Markovar slowly walks down the corridors toward the docking bay where the Wolfshead is docked. he plans to put in some time refitting the engines on the little ship. No more will the Wolfshead stall at an important moment. Maybe he will try to talk the mechanics into fitting a stall suppression system into the ship as well. To bad he couldn't have gotten his hands on one of those nifty little Sparrowhawks, but they were still being tested and none had been open for private ownership. ah well the Wolfshead wasn't all that bad a ship, truth be told.

Dr Ska was much impressed with the Discovery, so far she had held up well. he had gotten lots of good scientific information during the mission so far. currently he had set about rebuilding his data pad to increase its capacity.

ooc sorry i haven't been more active here. i have a bit of a slower playing style and most of you seem to outrun me by a mile. :D

Seth layed down in his quarters, it was a all white room, similar to the inside of a observer, a blue hologhrapic console gave him his daily dutys.

Skyler slept in her room on the top bunk of a bunk bed. The room was meduim sized and battleship gray, with two holo pictures on the walls. The first was of Xiscapia, the second of Foxfire and Skyler on a beach on Alversia. A small writing desk was against the bow wall, with a built-in computer on it, as well as a fountain pen and some paper. This was originally Foxfire's quarters alone, but he pulled some strings though Reynolds and managed to have his large bed taken out and replaced with bunks so Skyler could sleep here. A small closet served as the aft wall, with Foxfire's and Skyler's clothes and equipment stored. Skyler's katana lay against the side of the bunk, pure and shining white.

Bridge...
Foxfire yawned, showing sharp teeth. He stretched and sat in the Captain's chair, wondering where Captain Reynolds was. His comm crackled. It was Skyler. "Situation?" she asked. "SNAFU." said Foxfire. "When do you get off shift?" "Not until we're out of Danaversian space, whenever that may be."

Seth wolk up, and went to his bathroom. He shaved lazly, almost cutting himself. He put on his helmet and combat gear, grabbed his assault rifle and put it over his shoulder. He marched into the bridge and sat down on the floor.

Foxfire noticed Seth. "What are you doing, Lt.?"

arriving in the docking bay Lt Cmdr Markovar walks up to the side of the wolfshead and slowly rubs the hull with his hand. The things this ship could tell. ahh well lets see now he mumbles to himself as he reaches into the ship and flips a small switch. with that a panel slides to the side exposing the engine systems. as the panel moves aside a small hardshelled creature about the size of a coke can falls out of the inside of the ship with a low plop/clink.
looking down he says, ahhh there we go, i bet your the reason my engines stalled. bending down he probes the creature with a Sonic Wrench. I bet you crawled up in there when i docked at prolax 9 for refueling. probibly looking for a warm meal of engine wiring.
the Lt Cmdr comms up to Dr Ska to let him know to come to the docking bay to pick up a specimen, he also Calls up the 2nd in command to let him know about the Vorlax.

ooc the creature is a vorlax, a small pest species that feeds on wires and such materials. this one is quite dead, probibly fried as it munched on a live wire. oh sorry couldn't remember the proper rank of your character Xiscapia. I suppose i could have just said the First Mate though lol

seth looked at him: Just bored.

"Well, make yourself useful." said Foxfire, and tossed Seth a small cylinder. "That's the computer core for the advanced security system. Go put it in. Deck 5, room 438."

Dr Ska after receiving the message quickly grabs a Specimen Container and a scanner. Quickly making his way to the Docking bay he bends down and scans the vorlox. after a few minutes he declairs the pet dead and scoops it into the container. then he gets up and performs a quick scan on the Wolfshead looking for any more vorlox, or any possible eggcases this one may have layed just in case. after a few he declairs he hasn't found anything and walks off.

Lt cmdr just shakes his head and returns to work on the engines. He only wonders for a moment why this wasn't a bigger issue but quickly forgets as he looks over the engines

ooc more on the vorlox, they are a pest species similer to various insects on earth. they can cause havok with almost any electronic equipment due to there love for eating wires. also they are an asexual species like ameba (prob misspelled).

Seth: Yes sir: he got up lazly and went to deck 5.

Once breached, it would sent an alarm to DNHQ, but the Discovery could hopefully outrun or outgun any ships sent in pursuit

"Here goes nothing" Cavourna sighed as the Discovery burst through the barrier shield. There was no real impact, the worse the crew felt was a slight jolt. Cavourna relaxed as the stern cleared the shield
"That was easy. We got away with it"

An alarm on the console in front of him sprang to life to prove him wrong
"Damn!" he shouted as he typed various commands into the computer in front of him
"Two hostiles at 46.335 and closing fast...They're Barracudas!"

Two of Danaversia's standard battleships were rapidly closing in on Discovery. The eel shaped warships appeared to be outrunning the newer engines of the Alversian ship.
"We can't lose them! Within range in two minutes!"
"RED ALERT!! ALL CREW TO BATTLESTATIONS!!" Reynolds cried

All over the ship, the red emergency lights came on as the standard lights were switched off. Dozens of Alarms and Klaxons joined in the general choas as Officers ushered the crew towards their positions. On the gundeck, the crews began to load both the broadside guns and the ion cannon. The crew were lining up the guns and throwing plasma shells into the breeches.

Reynolds stood on the bridge and sucked in a deep breath
"Let's see how they react" he said to himself

OOC: I have no idea where Alversia is. I believe our current IC position is somewhere just inside Danaversian space. Anyone up for a little VR while we pass the time?

An alarm on the console in front of him sprang to life to prove him wrong
"Damn!" he shouted as he typed various commands into the computer in front of him
"Two hostiles at 46.335 and closing fast...They're Barracudas!"

Two of Danaversia's standard battleships were rapidly closing in on Discovery. The eel shaped warships appeared to be outrunning the newer engines of the Alversian ship.
"We can't lose them! Within range in two minutes!"
"RED ALERT!! ALL CREW TO BATTLESTATIONS!!" Reynolds cried

All over the ship, the red emergency lights came on as the standard lights were switched off. Dozens of Alarms and Klaxons joined in the general choas as Officers ushered the crew towards their positions. On the gundeck, the crews began to load both the broadside guns and the ion cannon. The crew were lining up the guns and throwing plasma shells into the breeches.

Reynolds stood on the bridge and sucked in a deep breath
"Let's see how they react" he said to himself

Bridge

Combat sweet combat Commander Kavnoc thought to herself as she readied her console to receave statuse reports 2 on 1.... it seems a little unfair but thats the danaversians fault for not coming prepaired

reports started coming in as duty stations were sucured battle stations reporting to the first officer and the tactical officer "captian. duty stations reporting in and ready" Let them attack its time we see what this ship can do if she was on a Kratnen destroyer or even a frigate she wouldn't be worried but the unteted nature of the Discovery made her just a little aprehencive

Sick Bay

AS the alarm sounded and the lights went off Dr. Everett moved into action "alright people you know the drill prep for incoming wounded" nurses scrambled haulign out the basic medical suplies and acessed the storge compartmemts for the more specialized equipment and in mear moments the Medical bay was ready for whatever hapened

Lan'ti gathered a group of marines together and waited for an alert of boarders. The group was made up of 4 Xiscapians, 3 Alversians and 2 Void Brutes. He headed off to the armory to get the group's guns.
"Let them come..." He muttered.

"Attention all crew! We are about to break into Danaversian territory! Brace for impact!" Captain Reynolds stood on the bridge and waited anxiously as the barrier shield drew closer and closer. Once breached, it would sent an alarm to DNHQ, but the Discovery could hopefully outrun or outgun any ships sent in pursuit

Foxfire rolled his yellow eyes as the two battleships closed in fast. "You had to say it." Reports came pouring in via his headset. "Gundeck 1, ready for action." "Ion Cannon 2, online." "Targets at 46.324 and closing. Brace for impact."

Holly rounded up her security team. She had learned their names briefly upon introduction. The group was made up of 13 Alversians and 7 Xiscapians. "Right, we're going to split into four squads of five. Alpha, Beta, Charlie, and Gamma. Each squad covers one of the airlocks closest to the bridge. Alpha, with me." Two Xiscapians and three Alversians formed up with her. "We'll be covering airlock 1. Beta team, airlock 2, and so on. Each team will have one Xiscapian in it, and each team will also be in a spacesuit, in case the enemy blows the lock from the outside. I don't expect us to be boarded, but we'll be ready. Get your gear and get to your posts!"

"They're firing!" Cavourna shouted as the two Barracudas fired their own ion cannon. Both shots went over the bow of Discovery and exploded nearby. The ship was rocked form side to side but no damage was done

"Warning shots" Reynolds said grimly from the bridge "they want to gauge our response" He laughed "I guess we're a right mystery! Hull and guns of an Alversian Battlecruiser, Engines of an Xiscapian warship and more scientists on board than soldiers!" he took a deep breath

"Ion Battery A, prepare to fire across the bow of the nearest Danaversian ship"

IC: The squads assembled about their respective airlocks. Here goes nothing... Skyler thought.

OCC: im assuming i have more than just one cavalerian on the discovery.

Seth and 5 GOU troopers ran to the armory, picked up there assault rifels. Clicking sounded as the rounds entered the chamber. They put on there battle gear and rushed towards the airlock.

"Ion Cannon firing!" the intercom interjected as the ship trembled under the recoil. The single blue bolt of light flew across the bow of the nearest Danaversian warship, forcing it to pull to starboard.

"Good shot, Gun Captain!" Reynolds cried into his earpiece

"Thank you, Sir!" the Captain replied

Another beeping sound was heard on the bridge

"Uh oh!" Cavourna shouted from his own console "We got trouble! another Barracuda appraoching dead ahead!"

Sure enough, another slender Danaversian warship was approaching from the front of the Discovery. This one started to turn as it got closer and closer

"EVASIVE MANOEUVRES!! IT'S GOING TO RAKE US!!" Reynolds shouted

The Discovery began to turn away from the danger but it was too late. A series of flashes along the side of the Danaversian warship indicated this.

"ALL HANDS PREPARE FOR IMPACT!!" Reynolds cried into the intercom and the first shots connected.

They hit just above the gundeck and ripped metal, plastic, flesh and whatever was left in their wake apart. The ship shook from side to side with the impact

"Damage Report!!" Reynolds demanded

Commander Kavnoc griped herseet and braced for the impacts not feeling the impacts nearly asmuch has her human counterparts as the blasts tore into the hull "reports coming in sir. heavy dammage to decks 14 and 15 minor dammage to the port gundeck waiting on casualtie reports... i highly recomend returning fire in kind." it was not in the kretnen nature to sit and take a beating or turn from a fight and retaliation would be perfictly acceptable even if there where in there space without permition but they didn't ask them to stand down, but then again thy shouldn't have fired there own warning shots... oh well "sir what are your orders?"

OOC: It carries a squadron of XX-30 fighters (30 Fighters) and a squadron of XB-133 Bombers (25 Bombers)

"I concur, Commander Kavnoc" Reynolds stated as his ship started to turn "I believe they have fired the first shot, correct?" He turned to Cavourna "All Ion Batteries prepare to fire! Manoeuvre us in order to fire a broadside at both port and starboard ships. NOW!!"

"YES, SIR!!" The Discovery began to turn.

"Ion Battery C ready to fire, Sir!" The intercom buzzed in

"Lock in Co-ordinates and...Fire!" Reynolds commanded as the ship shook again

The ion blast connected to the lone Barracuda on the port side of the Discovery. It's bridge seemed to disintergrate as the blast connected with the Danaversian warship.

"One Barracuda severely damaged, Sir! I think they're abandoning ship!" an Ensign called

"Good, now prepare to fi..."

The bridge shook violently, throwing several of the crew from their consoles

"Impact in A Turret, Sir! It's out of action!" Cavourna called

"We'll do this the old fashioned way!" he muttered "Bring us alongside! Prepare for exchange!"

Discovery began to move and close the distance with the two Barracuda's.

damn it just as he was getting into repairing the wolfshead. the Lt Cmdr jumps up and runs into the little craft. pressing a few buttons he teleports himself to the bridge to take his position. working quickly he sends out a jamming field to jam any enemy comms. Also he begins scans to try to pick up any Comms for decyphering.

Foxfire spoke calmly into his headset. "Batteries B and D, prepare to fire on my mark." The Discovery drew close to the enemy warships. "Three...two...one...Fire!" The turbolasers retracted from the force of there blasts as the Xiscapian crews fired into the enemy ships. Shields spat and flickered as the red lasers slammed into the side of the closest warship. There was a explosion as an enemy gun took a direct hit and blew, scattering shrapnel, flames, and body parts across the gun deck. "Direct hit!" shouted the gunnery Sergeant trumphitly. Seconds later returning fire splashed against the Discovery's shields. "Prepare to return fire!" shouted Foxfire.

Skyler and her team stood perfectly in place as the ship rocked and shuttered under enemy fire. "Steady men." she muttered quietly.
