The 002-NE Surface-to-Surface Dread-Buster Mk. 1 - 6 Million USD
Description:
The 002-NE surface-to-surface Dread-Buster Mk. 1 is a water based rapid fire weapon. The orginal design is based on that of the IX-529 Sea Shadow, a stealth vehicle commisioned by the US Army. However, the 002-NE Surface-to-surface Dread-Buster Mk. 1 is designed not as a stealth vehicle, but as a weapon. TO this effect, mounted along the top is a 13 foot long railgun. The entire weapon, including railgun and loading point, is 25 ft long, with 12 feet by 8 feet designated to the point at which ammo is loaded. The entire loading process is automated, with the ammo being fed by three thousand PSI of liquid nitrogen into the railgun before the current is applied to the rails. This is necesarry, as the ammo must be kept moving. Otherwise, the heat from the railgun would merely meld the ammo to the rail.
The ammo used are 6 foot long Tungsten spikes (note: may be substituted for depleted Uranium.) These spikes, known as "Busters" are fired at some 11,500 feet per second. Upon leaving the barrel, they travel froward and accelerate with incredible speed. These spikes will punch through almost anything, including almost any dreadnought (thus it's name, the Dread-Buster.) They are capable of traveling around 20,000 feet before they lose kinetic energy and will more then likely travel another 2,500 feet before eventually plunging into the water (or land below it). The Dread buster is meant to be used as a naval weapon, but can be used as an anti-tank weapon at close range, or, depending on the power charged to the gun, as an anti-satelite weapon.
