Prime Minister Ivanksy Bochick was reading this particular report with some urgency. It appeared, a somewhat imperialistic front was moving in on close allies in Noctiana. Something must be done. and soon. He swiftly activated the small type writer on his desk, and typed out a Communique, to be delivered post-haste.

Official Faxanavian Communique
We of Faxanavia call on the people of the world to help our allie Noctiana in her time of need. Please halt this imperial menace!
Respectfully yours,
Prime Minister Ivansky Bochick

OOC: Sorry for the short post. had to go quickly.

The Minister-President, Edward Forgul, was in his private Perle. He had alloted it to himself for ease of dividing his submarines. 757 was a prime number but 756 was very easily divided. He recieved word that Mokstana had started the invasion of Noctiana. Orzo was also to be invaded. He wondered how many allies would be called to the rescue of these two pathetic nations. If Hurtful Thoughts joined them then there was no telling how much they could take.

"Dock at the nearest friendly harbour," ordered the President. It was time to decide which troops to send.

THE WHOGIVASHITE SEA....OFF THE COAST OF Noctiana

The Mokastana Navy moved with ease, so far after constant surveillance and satellite scans, they learned that the enemy had no real navy, so there was nothing to be afraid of. The large fleet new that they were have nothing really to do so many sea men played games on deck, others napped and some actually did their duties. Admiral Alex Franshaw didn't care, this was going to be easy, and besides, the navy needed a break. the memories of that Super dreadnaught still haunted their minds.

"Admiral, This is flight team alpha, what is your status over?"

the admiral signed and picked up the radio

"We are on target, so far no resistance, we are having a jolly good time over."

"I should sink you for saying "jolly good time"you know that alex"

"try me Joseph."
they both chucked...

meanwhile above the skies of the fleet the massive air fleet moved a high speed toward the goal. they wanted ports. Lots of ports to deploy forces.
60 F/A-401 Bird of Preys took off from the carriers to assit in any threats they may run into... after all 50 Ilyushin Il-76 transports were no doubt expensive....the bears on the other hand could be trashed....

"are we in range" the admiral asked...

"sir we are in range..."

"then comince bombardment"

with that order 11 tomahawks flew toward the nation targeting main bridges, rail roads and other important transportation devices. the Warriors and Tphoon subs protected by the fleet fired off a series of IRBMs into the country...targeting the same things...

the bears were ordered to destroy military targets that could get to the docks quickly....while the MIGs and F/A-401 escorted the transports inland, to drop the paratroopers in.....

It was not often that Jeremiah H. Bullfrog chuckled. In fact, nobody could quite remember the last time he had laughed. But this was different.

"Are you kidding me?"
"No, sir."
"They tried to bomb Strawberry Fields?"
"Yes, sir."
"Ha! Those idiots! Any casualties?"
"They destroyed a railway station and some smaller towns. There are 265 injuries. 4 deaths."
"That's it?" Bullfrog was surprised even more.
"For the most part, we were able to take out their missiles. Some, including a nuclear bomb, failed to detonate. It has been disposed of."
"This is excellent!" He cried ecsatically.
"Do you have any orders, sir?"
"EMP their capital and send in 80 Mi-24s with jammers and napalm. Drop one nuclear bomb on a secondary city. Send in a fleet with 10,000 special missions soldiers, Category Phoenix. I want bases down and civilians dead. I want destruction." Bullfrog was serious again. Typical.

Georg Otto stood silently, perched over his desk. A sole lightbulb hung from the ceiling, and the mold on the walls wreaked. His pencil chipped, and the slightly blue paper was crowded. Equations, diagrams, and theories filled the air in the cellar of the safehouse. he muutered to himself and fell down onto the chair. It was finished. After years of work, it was finished. His idea was soon ot come to fruition.

The concept was old. He wondered why he was the first. But finally, he had created an unstoppable bomb. It was simple, really. He had taken an old british grand slam and fitted it with nuclear tungsten explosives. He would dorp one on a city, it would burrow its way into the ground, and in second there would be an earthquake off the richter scale. He rubbed his temples and began to imagine the deadly destruction. Oh, sweet victory.

OOC: ok quick questions
do we get a map?
what are you using to EMP my capital?
and how is your AA set up?
btw i didn't use any nukes....my IRBMs are ussully EMP or just regular bombs...i'll clarify that next time...
IC:
"Field Marshall Martinez, we got a report from the situation in Noctiana, sir...The naval forces didn't destroy all that they wanted but we apparently didn't suffer to many losses, a few bears and two transports went down...mostly they were shooting down missiles..."

"did our paratroopers make it?"

"Yes sir they captured a decent sized port and are unloading the 15th Hell Fury division there...."

The navy was approaching inland, keeping their guard up against anything that may fly out of the country...a constant partol of 20 F/A-401 were keeping an eye out on the fleet...the transports had already began unloading..around them the 5 Air Defense Frigate were preparing for any air attack by the enemy...

"admiral we are in shelling range of a few targets"

"what would those be?"

"a few roads and the nearest city"

"hold off on that until the enemy responds, if the ground forces request it, then do it, meanwhile pull off the fleet except for the transports, the 5 Frigates and the battle cruisers...the Livertads and Zapatas will shell when the army orders"

OOC: Noctania, we are invading you because you are an easy target for us. Faxanavia is too, but this is to help you so we're focusing on you and Orzo. You have bombed military bases. I don't believe that nations would sell you Nuclear weapons (Compared to a lot of nations you are very small) or that nations would sit back while a small fry tests nuclear bombs. Not to mention that Uiri would Small Pox you ASAP if you Nuked Mokastana. Also, you wouldn't know much about Mokastana either. It would take a couple weeks before you found out where to bomb. Mokastana has probably been planniung this for a long time.

Not something which is over in, "I nuke you" "You can't, you have to worry about re-building your bases" "No I don't because...my nation developed forcefields" "It's Modern tech" "We developed them in the 40s" "No way. Then I use my Ignore WMD"

IC:

"Mokastana did whaaat?! Why in the world would he bomb the bridges, they are so useful to us." Forgul said in shock.

"Apparently, Mokastana wants to cut their military. And besides, won't the Noctianans re-build the bridges on their own? Won't that make it easier for the picking?" Brigadier-General of the 21st Brigade remarked.

"True, true. How is the progress of the 24th Battle Fleet?"

The leader of the Brigade answered, "Just fine, sir. I hear they are making great time towards Orzo."

"Excellent. Get ready to mobilise your troops. You shall be headed on a Francis Garnier for a Beachhead."

"Thank you Mr. Minister-President it is a great honour."

The Alfegos battleforce were slowly travelling towards Noctoria. They would first wait for the bombardment occuring to finish.

First though, they would add in a bit of damage themselves.

=====

The main guns on the Zevkhay and Il'Ri turned, and began bombarment of the shore area where they would land the first force. They were firing with 100 mm guns, that would soon wear down the enemy defences.

=====

To add impact, the Alfegos cruise missile command centre had used their sattelite imagery to plot the main targets for 10 sledgehammer cruise missiles, armed with 1000 lb warheads. They would make sure that resistance was futile.

The missiles roared through the sky, at a height of 20 feet, under radar surveillance. That would stop any interception, until it was too late.

President's Office
Coricas, Cookesland

"Sir, the nation of Faxanavia is calling for help on behalf of their ally, Noctiana. It's urgent."

"Send help. Send our forces. Mobilize now."

As the order passed out from the president's office the Cookeslandic military mustered and headed for Noctiana
Alfegos

The cruise missiles exploded in the distance, giving the signal for the invasion to start. 100 landing boats, each with a shock force of 40 men, were travelling to the beachj, under fire of the other ships in the fleet.

Coming behind them were 20 heavy bombers, escorted by 30 Mulitrole Fighters. They simply were to carpet bomb the entire LZ, for about a mile inland, and then swing round and out in place of the 20 fighter bombers that would target any other resistance.

=====

Behind the battlegroup, a massive swarm was approaching: 400 transports escorted by subs filled with men and equipment, ready to re-enforce the beachhead.

Furman was in fumes. It was 1 in the morning, and he and Bullfrog were spending yet another hour over the maps. Nobody spoke. He studied the coastlines, he studied the cities, he pored over the reports. Finally he uttered a word.

"They're going to bomb Lennongrad."
"What? You asshole, Furman. Why the hell would they do that?"
"Isn't it obvious? Look, We've got a good three nations after us. Their plan is obvious. Bomb out Lennongrad, attract troops, and then try to decimate our army. It's simple. It's a port city."
"Fine, then why not a naval base?"
"Civilians. You don't just rebuild a city. You send immediate help."
"Shit! Alright, here's what we'll do. I want all residents out of Lennongrand and Johnandyoko in 48 hours. Starting immediately. Destroy all roads, bridges, railroads and airfields. Bomb everything, then release poison gas in large quantities. Retreat soldiers to within fifty miles. Send in a force surrounding the internal cities, and try to seal of the air. I want half of our army out there in forty minutes. Put all military establishments on red alerts, send all civilians into bomb and fallout shelters. This is serious."
"Certainly. How many soldiers?"
"1 million. At least."
"Now?"
"Or never."

OOC: You have an imploded economy. How can you afford Nukes and EMP devices? I would understand and shut up about it if you had an economy at around Thriving. Also, please don't insult my writing without offering constructive criticism. Please don't double (or triple) post. I came to my conclusion based on the fact that my nation is about 10 times bigger with an economy at Powerhouse which is 3rd away from the top compared to an economy which is imploded which is very low. 35.6 million is more than 2.89% of your population and that

75 km off the coast of Orzio

It seemed as though the coast was too easy. Wait...what was that in the distance? There were mines along the coast of Ozio. The driver of the boat reported this to the Rear Admiral.

"Well, don't just let the boat run into them, turn the damn thing around!" yelled the Rear Admiral.

"Yes, Sir," the cadet did as he was told.

The Rear Admiral signalled to the rest of the battle fleet and contacted Mr. Forgul about the problem, "Minister-President, thee are mines and one of our Duguay-Trouins sank."

A message was soon recieved on all the boats to head towards Mokastana. They were going to assault there.

40 km north of the Gogari Valley

The 355th Wing of the Uir Air Force was about to take off. They were to use General-Purpose Bombs to destroy the port city of Lennograd. There was going to be destruction and it would also allow the allies to harbour somewhere else while the troops were sent in. It was going to be big.

The minesweeper Asg'ri sped along in front of the advancing swarm of craft, clearing a passage for them to spew troops onto the shore. From what they could see, the defences were currently few and far between on this stretch.

The first wave hit the shore, and the front ramps burst off as the explosive bolts detonated.

Out of them came Stryker IFVs, each filled with a squad of ten. They would be the first to hold the shore, until the re-enforcements came along. They made do in securing a mile square area until re-enforcements entered the area.

=====

The heavy bombers came over the area, but held their payloads. From what they could see, there was only an expanse of deserted terrain, with suspicious lack of life.

" They're doing a runner. Request permission to attack the main cities, over"

" Permission granted. The fighters will dis-engage, so that you can tackle the enemy cities. To help you a bit, we've sent 2 sledgehammers to your AOF. That should allow you enough cover for carpet bombing. Remember, try to hit any military installations first, then the civilian ones. Don't worry though. Any result should be good enough. You are carpet bombing, remember...@

=====

The area that had been secured was soon subject to an improvised jetty that would allow much faster disembarkation of troops, directly from the massive bellys of the blue transports.

To stop any other attacks, the area was buzzing with multirole fighters, with a variety of weapons, from AAMs to FABs. The 70 in the area would make short works of any attacks, unless, they were determined.

The Iron heart APCs were proving effective at the jobs they were giving, one such type, being used as the Command center variant radioed to the fleet that there was no enemy forces on the beach....and requested orders...

"this is Admiral Franshaw, hold that port no matter what, another Imperial division is on route...it will arrive tomorrow, how well are you unloaded?"

"the majority of the IFVs and APCs are up and running, the main issues is the tanks are taking forever to get unloaded, but we got 12,000 men waiting for orders on the beaches"

"ok then send them out to take key postions around your docking area, i want a 30 mile radius around that dock secure. over"

"will do over"

OOC: I apologize for my lateness. I didn't think this would move quite so fast.
IC: Faxanavians were moving into Noctiana's airspace. Even as a relatively small country, Faxanavia prided itself on it's airforce. The Faxanavian F-11 Mudhen had in fact started it's life as a stealth plane, but when it's applications had become obvious, it became Faxnavia's major fighter. Now, 100 base launched F-11 Mudhens streaked through the air, ripples of space around them. The pilots stared from their cockpits down at the damage incurred. Lennongrad and Strawberry Fields were in smoking ruins. Soon, they would head north to Johnanyoko, and then there would be chaos.
The contingents broke into five 20 man groups, and picekd up the pace. As they came within range, they fired. Streaking from the side mounted launch points came Star streak missles, rippling across the sky in only the way a star streak can. The airforce had one goal in mind; thin out the airforce sufficiently that an NNEMP (non-nuclear EMP) could be used to try and do damage to the ground troops.
They ripped over the sky, dispensing their payloads into any enemy planes they saw coming they're way. Then, they saw the Alfegos contingent, who had captured the jetty. A group broke from the pack, and it became apparent why the F-11 was the star of Faxanavia's air force.
Besides being a fighter, the F-11 has been outfitted with short range bomb deployment ports. they couldn't carry as many bombs as a regular...bomber, but they were ready to bomb when the need arose. This is exactly what happened. low-explosive packed shells deployed from the small deployment ports. They fell in the way only a bomb can: with a bang.

"General Don", was pacing...

Pacing is a bad thing, especially when the person pacing is in command of over 30 million privately owned soldiers...

Earlier, he had been given an offer, to assist in a wholesale invasion of a chain of small, weakly defended, and resource rich nations.

However, their nieghboring nation, Antigr, was getting rather suspicious of HOI's past actions independent of regular Antgerian/Hurtian boards of inquiry.

Such as allegations of various war crimes, enforced slavery, and multiple counts of assisted genocide and under the table arms deals with known terrorist cells.

Still, this new 'offer', however risky, would be good for business. It just meant he'd have to make a few extra phone calls and pull some extra strings to detour a Hurtian Marine Brigade, plus lease some government military hardware.

He picked up a phone, and started dialing...
----------
"Grant" was pacing...

Pacing isn't a good thing, especially since it shows weakness, also not a good thing when you are trying to start a revolution.

The "Five Points Mafia" as they have been dubbed by the media, was consistently outraged by the antics of Hurtful Outcomes Incorporated, and how they kept the legitimate governement firmly under their thumb.

It was always a disgrace negotiating terms of marque with them...

An informant, a mole within HOI, had informed them of a pending operation in an otherwise peaceful, and pleasant nation. Now was the time to act.

Grant picked up his cell phone and started speed dialing...
-------
"Leader Milo" was pacing...

Pacing was an unhealthy habit of his, and it always meant something bad was about to happen and he would have a pile of clout on his desk within 24 hours.

Antigr had been consistently bringing up issues with using HOI as their de facto rank and file military and as a national gaurd for hire. Only strict government control over the media and violent prosocution of riots has maintaned order within his nation.

He hadn't had a good night's sleep in months...

His phone rang, again...

Meanwhile, the Rising Phoenix Squadron was making it's own move. Rising Phoenix was the Faxanavian B-52 Bomber squadron, and they were remaining some 100 miles off shore. Then again, 100 miles would be plenty for what they were packing.

The Faxanavian NNEMP-EPFCG "Air Raid" missle was remarkable. Firstly, because it was of the little used non-nuclear EMP section of EMP missles. Secondly, because it was designed (with a 2.5 mile wide EMP radius) to take down whole squadrons of aircraft. However, they now had a different target.

The B-52's were now pulling back, save for one, which, with careful prescision, deployed 3 of it's six payload missles. Each was deployed towards a different enemy fleet. Sure, they probably wouldn't all hit, but one would get through, and it would do some damage.

OOC: I apologize if my information is off. I had to read quickly. Basically, I'm dropping an NNEMP as close to enemy naval forces as I can get without hitting my own. If this is a problem, just let me know

Air Forces

The 120 MiG-27s took off and headed straight for their target. It was all fine and dandy until they ran into EMP bombers. 60 fired their GSh-6-30 cannons. The 30 mm shots headed toward the Enemies. Most were probably going to miss, but then again, it didn't matter as long as the craft sank and the pilots died.

The remaining 60 headed towards their target. They ran into more Faxanavian aircraft - the roundels were the same. Some fired, others dropped their bombs, leaving the city smoking. Several alternated with others between bombing and firing. Once the bombs were dropped they were ordered to head home.

Naval forces

An EMP dropped into the water, nearly 2 miles off their mark. Several more Touins went down. A hundred or so made it off, into the life boats. Atleast many more of them were going to live to tell the tale, the EMP could've taken out over half the fleet.

The Rear Admiral was all too unpleased. How many more of these could the enemies drop? All the troops were doing was supporting their allies. Besides, killing others was and should be punishable by death. He hoped that is what they got.

Land Forces

The men were getting ready to land, and they could hear the sounds of battle on the water and in the air. They were ready to fight.

Back in Uiri

Forgul sent a message to the HOI requesting their paid help. Of course the contract included no backstabbing. He also sent a reply to Mokastana:

OOC: Uiri, how is it that you're fighters met my B-52's some 100 miles out to sea? It doesn't really make sense to me, but if you have an explanation I'd be happy to hear it.

IC: The Faxanavian air forces had met up with some trouble in the Uiri air fighters. Several planes plunged to the ground, spiraling in flaming tailspins of death. the pilots ejected, and drifted down to the ground below. Above them, the Faxanavian forces turned their considerable firepower on the Uiri planes around them.

Faxanavia was rather lucky in this war, as it was rather close to Noctiana (as they shared a region.) Faxanavian troops had already been deployed to nearby New Umberland, and had moved in at the first sign of trouble. 50,000 armed divisions, each wearing the Faxanavian colors. They were followed by 3 of the Faxanavian armed Military units- 100 tanks per unit, all LY4 MBT's. They were just now reaching the battle.

They moved with ease into the firefight raging below (however one sided it was.) With a trained ease that any army would have been proud of, they split up, and, led by group leaders, began their offensive. The soldiers moved on problem duty: any problem that came up was to be handled. A full 500 contingent and 50 tanks moved towards the docks, where the Alfegos forces had been unloading. When they were unpacked, they would meet the might of 50 LY4's and 500 AWK 1's.

OOC: My ships weren't fighting, but if you say so. When I meant sounds of battle on the water I meant the EMP and the ships sinking. The soldiers could only see the explosions going on outside.

IC: The ships were patroling the waters looking out for enemies. So far it had only been allies in the surrounding waters. In the meantime, the group of Francis Garniers unloaded right onto the beach. It was the best ability of the Garniers. Only a quarter - 22,000 men - unloaded onto the beach. They would only have supplies for a day or two maybe three if they spread out their supplies enough.

No ship risked firing in case they hit their allies or worse, their own troops. The Rear Admiral was, however on the look out for any enemy ships. The Mokastana ships drew closer and the signal was waving the countries flag. The Rear Admiral had instructedhim on the design of the war flags of all the other flags. Uiri's of course, was the flag turned to clockwise a quarter so it was horizontal.

The troops quickly searched for the Mokastana troops, being wary of enemy troops at the same time. There was no telling how they would know it was each other, but they would know, one way or another.

The Great Motte
Along the Antigrian/Hurtian border

The deep trench was littered with would-be illegal alliens, defectees, and draft dodgers.

Along each side were row upon row of guard towers and MG nests, in the background one could see dust clouds formed by Hurtian armor doing readiness drills, since all local foliage had been gassed away with herbicides.

The trench, or 'motte' itself was filled with petrol once every month to incinerate the bodies, the edges had tangles of barbed wire, land mines of various types, bunkers, and video cameras for the reality TV show "Who wants to be a Hurtian?". It was even rumured that they had tunnels to the bottom of the motte, where Marine Raiders would wait for those attempting to cross to pass, before stabbing them in the back with a combat shovel. But that was just a myth, right?

Further back, were railway guns as large as 18" diameter, though not as destructive as the arger Antigrian guns, they tended to fire much faster and had roughly the same range. At regular intervals were bunkers from which they would shoot from, and would allow them to play 'tag' with enemy counter-battery fire. Complementing these huge guns were land vehicles known as "MUHT"s, massive, 300+ ton land cruisers each touting 12" guns or moonlighting as an ICBM TEL. Though the Hurtians didn't use nuclear weapons, it was well known that, if provoked, they could deploy weapons far worse.

So far, Uiri is the only one attacking you.

Although I'll be joining the fray shortly.
Keep in mind, no declaration of war has been issued by any of the parties involved.

The Alfegos air force were quick to react. Wheeling round, they dived from their positions higher in the sky, and let loose with missile after missile, each one effortlessly locking on and following the enemy fighters, with more than just infared.

On the ground, the AA fire started up: first from the Lyran Shepherds, that spewed missile after missile into the sky, and then from the grand cruisers. who brought about numerous flak guns as well as the more modern Oblivion MIRV AA warheads, each missile splitting into eight warheads as it hit the enemy craft.

On the ground, bombs ahd started falling, but most of them missed the jetty, as it was so thin, throwing up huge waves of water or sand. Two did hit the jetty, yet only destroyed a few segments that probably could be easily bridged later.

=====

The enemy AA defences over the capital had started firing off as the Mjolnar-class bombers approached. Now they were in range, they began to lay down a carpet of fast-moving 250 lb bombs, leaving a trail of devestation across the city. The Sledghammer missiles had hit, the flashes as they detonated leaving flashing marks on the crew's retinas.

As they turned round and back, they activated the afterburners on the jets that would get them outta there as quickly as possible.

=====

The medium bombers were apporaching now. They had been held on the ground for a while, as the fighters became obvious, and had been refitted with FABs.

They flew round the cluster of activity, before coming in on the capital. As they came over the parts not smoking, they each dropped their cargo of one of the bombs.

The bombs did not plummet, but drifted slowly down on parachutes, until they were at a designated height, before showering the air with fuel drplets, that were ignited. Fuel air bomb. An inferno and concussion wave that would cause devestation. And there were ten of these.

As the enemy birds were seen coming towards the fleet, the other ships opened fire with all they had. A bomber could last so long in a sky full of flak, Phalnax fire and with 10 SAMs on its tail.

=====

On ground, more troops were busy hitting the beach in assault craft. Now there were 3200 men on the beach, with 40 MGS and 3 units of Manitcore missiles. The MBTs were coming later, but they would be needed soon. The enemy was about to make a stand. With Lyran battletanks.

It was only fitting that 100 main battletanks that were being unloaded onto a less damaged part of the pier were LY4 s, headed by a couple of EFVs, which had deployed temporary bridges over the holes.

As the tanks crawled toawrds the enemy, from around the side, the Manticore missiles let rip, firing missile after missile at the last enemy postion, noted by satellite. Each one burst into 660 bomblets over the enemy position, showering them with handgrenades. While they were pinned down, the MGS and IFVs would attackfrom their other flank, taking them down.

OOC: No, actually, no one is attacking Orzio. One of my ships was destroyed by a mine and so we altered course for Noctiana. You're on the 'To Bomb with MiG-27s List' though. Everyone is more/less attacking Noctiana

IC:

The Naval Forces decided to head back to retrieve the best part - the tanks. The soldiers were left no the beach to kill as many enemy soldiers as possible. It didn't really matter who they were actually - the FAMAS rifles would shoot them down if they were from an enemy country.

The Naval forces proceded slowly in order to avoid any bombs which may be dropped their way. The Mokastanans were nearby too.

OOC: I apologize for the confusion I have caused. I was somewhat... confused...

IC: The Faxanavian Air forces were taking heavy damages over the Alfegos deployment area. SAMs, Flak, and other planes were all causing heavy damage. They pulled themselves back, and awaited the arrival of their savior.

The Faxanavian B-19 Secret Chicken was a complex vehicle. It had started life as a stealth watching ship, but many, many, alterations later, it was now what it was today- Faxanavia's stratobomber. The 50 or so Secret Chickens which had launched had allowed themselves to wait in their stratospheric hidden locations until action arose. Now, they were needed.

The Secret chickens swooped in, and dropped their payloads. They rained destruction, with 350 pound bombs plunging from each cargo hold towards the Alfegos forces.

As destruction rained from above, the Faxanavian Infantry below made it's move. They had been heavily damged by the enemy fire, but now they were ready to fire back. Rolling forward came several LY300 Manticore Multiple Rocket Systems, who proceeded to dump some 80 or so short range missles into the enemy artillery. This fire was supplemented by the general blasts of M109A6 Paladin Self Propelled Howitzers, emptying their load into enemy forces.

OOC: I aplogize, but neither Noctiana nor I can upload a map (I keep the maps for our region) at this time. We don't have access to anywehre to upload it. To describe Noctiana, it's a very long, thin country running up the coast of the region (think California.) It has five major cities. Strawberry Fields, the capital, and the city you're all bombing situated somewhere in the middle. Lennongrad, situated near the top is the major port city. And Johnandyoko is the major center of commerce, near the bottom. There are two, small, outlying islands (think Sicily, and a smaller Sicily (sorry if I can't spell Sicily)) which host the twin cities of Mister City and Policeman City, both major centers of commerce.

The Faxanavians knew they would lose Strawberry Fields. It was an eventuality. But, they would not lose Johnandyoko.

To this point, nearly 100,000 armed and dangerous troops were now occupying Johnandyoko. They had come along with enough artillery and anti-aircraft fire to wipe a small fleet. Over head, 200 Mudhens soared. Tanks rolled across the streets, nearly 500 of them. A curfew had been imposed until such times as the invasion subsided. frankly, they didn't mind. It was that, or die.

Under the cover of the enemy fire, the 100 tanks began to move at maximum speed towards the enemy, firing as they went. Meanwhiule, the artillery continued to fire back with as many missiles as possible, in an attempt to neutralise enemy artillery.

The IFVs came towards the unsuspecting enemy flank, before loosing off roof missiles towards the enemy artillery units. Once they were within 200 metres of the surprised enemy, the infantry poured out, letting loose massive bursts of machine-gun fire from cover at the enemy. Meanwhile, the mounted gun systems picked out and destroyed any enemy vehicles nearby.

=====

The enemy strato-bombers were a surprise to the ships, who immediately diverted fire onto them. Not only were the missiles and flak used, but the remaining aircraft on the super-carrier scrambled, and drove upwards into the sky, firing off missile after missile as the climbed.

The bombs fell, some of them scoring hits on the cruisers. Yet they were of such size that not much damage was done, except aesthetic damage.

Only one Grandcruiser sustained any major damage: the main funnel was hit, and pieces of ceramic armour rained down onto one of the main guns, jamming the mechanism.

The enemy bombers wouldn't last long either, as a squadron of 10 interceptors was making its way at mach 3 towards the battle zone, ready to take down the bombers.

=====

In the ruined city, a small dinghy hit the shore, before 10 men rushed out. They were unit Alpha 7, on a mission: to disable all command chains in the enemy. For that, they were equipped with graphite bombs.

They had to be ghosts, so were all armed with crossbows and silenced assault rifles, as well as a couple of other nasty little oddities.

They made their way through the rubble towards where the last traced command signal had been: the enemy HQ.

Heavy machine gun fire laid down the troops and forced them back under cover. They're artillerry kept firing, in an effort to keep enemy troops at bay. Meanwhile, reinforcements were moving in. Missle artillery moved in, and began to empty fire into them. They needed to bring down the enemy tanks, and artillery. Then, they could move in with reinforcements, and wipe the infantry.

In high airspace, the Secret Chickens swerved missles. Several went down, but the majority made it out of the air. They ripped over the fight below, back to Faxanavian air space and safety.

The pilots of the F-11's smirked as one, as these supposedly super-sonic fighters came at them. Second engines engaged, and they ripped off at speed approaching Mach 3. emptying their machine gun fire into the oncoming enemy, they swerved, and prepared to deploy their bombs and missles on the alfegos forces below.

OOC: I'm bombing Lennongrad, not 'the city you're all bombing'. My troops are invading Johnandyoko (since that's in the south I believe).

IC: The troops moved towards the nearest city, a port city. The Brigadier-General led the attack making sure that enemy troops would be subjected to death by firing squad. (OOC: Faxanavians are enemies according to him.) The marched slowly towards the buildings, wondering what lurked inside.

Meanwhile...more MiGs took off, a different squad of 120 planes. They were to bomb Ozio this time, comiong in from the west. 12 of them were also ordered to bomb 20 km out of the coast to detonate any mines. They were to avoid any 'water pillar' effects and so were told to drop it while at 30 km away and going full speed. The pilots were almost ready.

The enemy F-11s may be laughing as they saw the interceptors moving in at mach 3, but wouldn't be any longer. Any machine-gun fire missed the interceptors as they hit their afterburners.

These on, the interceptors let loose the flares from their rears as they accelerated to mach 7. Now they turned around and let loose with a total of 40 laser/infared/radar/visual locked missiles, each of which was able to take down quickly any enemy fighters. Who was laughing now.

=====

The artillery fire continued, but the enemy did not have a clue as to where the 100 LY4 tanks were. Because the tanks had changed their course radically, and now were coming in from behind.

They spotted the enemy missile artillery re-enforcements from 4 miles off, and let loose a volley of HEAT shells at the unsuspecting re-enforcements from the cover of a wooded area.

=====

Meanwhile, on the other flank, the enemy artillery was still firing. It was useful 2 of the IFVs had SW teams in them. In total, 4 AATS - 04 systems with special SABOT II munitions had been loaded and locked on the enemy artillery, and the missiles fired. They continued the firing, the missiles locked onto the artillery units and un-errignly guided on a straight course directly into the enemy.

The Mounted Gun Systems were also busy feeding shells into the enemy artillery. Soon, there would be none left, and the Alfegos Artillery would be able to fire again.

The infantry was advancing at the enemy position, continuing to lay down heavy fire onto the targets. There hopefully would be none left soon.

=====

The Heavy bombers had another mission. When the enemy strato-bombers had been seen to attack, they had been followed by infra-red signature, to an airstrip in the enemy stronghold.

They would be launched if the cruise missiles headed the enemy's way did not annihilate the airstrip first.

=====

Squad Alpha 7 were continuing to advance towards where the enemy HQ was. So far, there had been no encounters, and if so, the bolts in their crossbows would make short work of any enemy encounters.

OOC: Hopefully. Although, so far, it seems that I'm the only one who's on the anti-imperialist alliance and fighting.

IC: The one command that every Faxanavian soldier hopes never to hear went out. "Kill on sight." from vantage points on rooftops, Faxanavian reconnaisance watched the moving troops. With an almost inaudible command, the attack was launched.

It started when 15 Faxanavian Mudhens, flew in, emptying missiles into Uiri portable artillery and tanks. Then, came the infantry.

The Faxanavian infantry forces moved in the only way to really do it: loudly. They went in guns blazing, emptying round after round into the enemy. Strategically positioned snipers opened fire from rooftops, from bell towers, from shops. The blast of LY300 artillery inter-mingled with that of Paladin artillery shells and the sound that only an LY4 MBt can make when it was firing.

The Uiri forces were surrounded. Behind them, planes waiting to bomb. In front, and to the left and right, artillery, tanks, and infantry, all ready to massacre. The message was clear: Don't screw with Johnandyoko.

The Faxanavians had lost Strawberry Fields. With NO (OOC: not that I'm bitter or anything...) backup, they simply woudn't be able to take out the combined forces. Therefore, they moved what they could out. The few troops and weapons that had survived Alfegos's attack fled with the rest of them. Strawberry Fields was to the imperialists. A lot of good that would do them...

The B-52 bombers of Phoenix Squadron were back. This time, there were twenty, and they wanted revenge. As they waited, 150 miles from shore, for the signal. And it came. They deployed their missles. The pilots were very glad of their earplugs. 120 long-range "Air Raid" EMP missles were pretty loud when they launched.

The missles streaked through the sky. Their low radar signature meant they would easily get into Noctianan air space. They had one mission. If the Faxanavian's couldn't have Strawberry Fields, neither could anyone else. When the missiles reached their target of Strawberry Fields, they would detonate, sending a wide enough EMP shockwave to wipe out all electronics within 3 miles of the city.

OOC: Faxanavia is actually quite close to Noctiana (same region), so your cruise missle is headed for Faxanavian soil. Never a good idea.

IC: Corporal Karington. loved this bit of his job. His job was to sit around all day, and when a cruise missle headed for Faxanvia, to destroy it. And, so, he did his job.

On the western border of Faxanavia, the Alfegos cruise missle had been picked up. The response was immediate. Faxanavia had spent quite a bit on their anti-missile weapons system, and now it was in play.

The missle was first fired upon by rockets: from the surrounding Starfire and Patriot system missle defense systems. Then, in came the missle defense lasers. the closest one opened fire, putting a melting shot right onto the cruise missile.

Corporal Karington laughed. Like they really though a cruise missle would punch through...

"The cruise missile was shot down, High Marshall" said a controller in the Alfegos missile command centre"

"Really? Well, we'll have to have a little bit of fun with them then."

Saying that, the command was issued to see how far they could survive a missile bombardment.

From two subs in the area, 8 missiles lauched upwards. Once they had rached the exosphere, they arched downwards vertically to the capital, travelling at Mach 18. They would last long enough to deliver their deadly payload.

As they came down, the systems started firing at them. But no missile could catch the warheads, and the lasers would have fun attempting to shoot down a sky filled with Chaff, the discarded shielding, discarded stages and the radar ghosts being generated by 4 decoys.

They would be very difficult to shoot down, before they hit the capital city and let rip with VX and BZ warheads.

=====

"EMP!" yelled the commander as the forward scouts noted the odd missiles coming in. The trainging kicked in straight away. All equipment was brought into the inside of the IFVs, and the entire vehicles were sealed from inside. Hopefully, the farady cages built into the structures would stop too much damage. The radios would be damaged, but not the vehicles.

10 seconds later, the EMP went off. All the radios went off similateuosly. After 5 minutes, the exited the vehicles, and made damage assessments. Half of the vehicles onland were out of action, but not completely helpless. The enemy did not realise they weren't the entirity of the force.

The rest of the 300 000 + men were making their way ashore in large transports, along with their equipment. Now it was time to regroup, build a forward command base and start repairing the 3/4 of deployed vehicles that were out of action.

The enemy was foolish enough not to target the ships.

=====

The enemy city of Johnandyoko was chaos as the enemy attacked Uiri. That was quite a useful diversion, allowing them to take unwatched streets and creep towards enemy HQ. They came close enough to see a guard. Once theywere sure there was no other watchers in what appeared to be a forward command post, they shot the guard and made across to the cover of the buildings.

OOC: Yes. Because I'd leave myself unguarded. Also, I'd like to point out that I did EMP your naval forces, earlier on. It's possible that you managed to avoid it, but unlikely.

IC: The Alfegos forces were in for it. They were in for it because they thought they were in the clear in Faxanavia's HQ in Johnandyoko. They were wrong. Dead wrong, it seemed. The first one was lazily sniped down by one of the Spec Ops Black Rooster forces members hidden away. The attack was speedy from there. Black Rooster moved in, surrounding the silently moving Alfegos forces with AWK-1 guns and M8 sniper rifles.

IC: The Brigadier-General ran for cover while emptying rounds into the enemies. Every enemy sighted had bullets fired at them, both ways. Bombs were dropped, killing hundreds. The Brigadier-Genral ran back to the shore, shooting as he retreated. With the boat gone, he did all he could - hijack another.

He took off towards the port and got onto a little dinghy. About twenty more troops piled on too and they escaped for their lives. Shots were fried and some were killed but the Brigade's leader didn't care. He knew that the city was going to have to be bombed.

The dinghy was goin about 7 knots and the boats were probably going twice as fast. Even if there were ally ships nearby, it would be hours before he could get the message to call off the attack to the Minister-President.

OOC: Demonym is Uir or plural, Uirè. I do believe I deployed 22000 troops. Around 20 fled.

IC: Although some troops had turned tail and fled, that was nothing compared to the rest of the troops. They fought because they knew that even a Pyrrhic victory was better than a loss. If the Alfegon troops could trap the defenders then they might take out more troops than Faxanavia could replace.

Some troops brought out their Beretta's because they had run out of ammo. Other brought them out just to surprise the enemies. Some had been fighting with it all along due to personal prefernence even if the veteran Brigadier-General had said otherwise.

IC: The Uir troops were far from finished, that was true. The Faxanavians needed to beat them back. Johnandyoko must not fall. And, so, they began to employ new weapons.

LY300's rolled forward on their treads, and opened fire with short range starstreak missles emptied into the enemy forces. Mobile SAMs and enough towed artillery for several elephants to carry moved forward and emptied their payload into the enemy as well. From above, snipers opened fire on rooftops. Below, the rapid fire of machine guns intermingled with the sounds of Shoulder launched missiles. Several Mammoth Multifunction Missile Launcher moved with the ease only such a powerful vehicle could, and emptied out it's load. From above, the planes dropped what they could, bombing heavily the outlying and support troops. Tanks rolled across streets, blasting whatever was in their way.

Using their Infa-red goggles, they were able to quickly locate the heat sources of any men nearby in the building. The sniper would have to be dealt with. Soon.

To make sure that they were alone, one of the squad members dropped a SF grenade by the door.

It silently exploded, covering the door area in rapidly hardening foam. It would take an angle grinder to get out of that stuff once it was completely dry.

They continued onwards towards the nearest heat source. They might be the answer for a few questions.

=====

Onland, most of the infantry had landed. The transports were moving away as quickly as possible: the Cookesland navy was approaching, according to satellite, and they would prefer to be out of the way before shooting commenced.

A prefab fort was almost complete. It would probabaly withstand a heavy bombardment.

As for now, the enemy would be harassed by Scimitar light tanks, to stop them getting a oothold back in the area, until they were ready to take Johnandkaye.

Task Force 'Marne'
Upon nearly reaching Orzia, Wilson Spalding was issued a direct change of orders. And now was tasked with taking and holding some strawberry fields in Nocturnia until reinforcements arrived.

What fun...

Thankfully, they were close enough anyways to begin airlifting the Marine Raider Battalion in to reconoiter the area before the rest of the Marines moved out.

The Airlift comprised pimarily of Mi-24 Halos and some CH-47 Chinooks, with CAS provided by the air wings aboard the attached Carrier units, comprising of a mix of 20 F-4H2 Phantoms, and 60 FMA-6Cs per carrier.

HOI airbase
Hurtian Mainland
A full three 'airborne' divisions of mechanized infantry were readied for imeediate reinforcement, roughly 12 hours after the first Hurtian marines sets down in Nocturnia. Equipmemt was to be moved by military transports, converted heavy bombers, and gliders that were towed behind them, while additional troops would be moved using commercial airliners detained for this 'training excercise', a few of them Antigrian...

Air support was to be provided by a spearheading flight of MiG-31s and FB-111Gs on SEAD sorties, along with direct air support via two flights of military surplus FMA-6Bs.

SOJ was promised to be provided by Task Force Marne. Although the FB-111G was, on its own, quite capable of 'box and cox' jamming, SEAD, direct close air support, strategic bombing, reconisance, dogfighting, and low level infiltration even without SOJ circus' on station.

ooc: I'm going to backtrack a little to when your ships were approaching, okay? Just to hopefully catch up to the present incoming bombers. Last thing, are the MiGs taking off from your nation or from carriers?

ic:

Since the emergence of a somewhat unified government in Orzio, all had been quiet. Things were being done at home in order to rebuild the economy, and hopefully advance upwards in technology as well. Today was like any other day, until the few sonar bouys in the costal waters started picking up and tracking incoming ships. Hopefully it wasn't much to be worried about, but would still be a good test for the operators who watched their boards for any threat.

The boggies hadn't been identified before they had retreated, apparently scared off for the moment by the mines. A couple of sailors breathed a small sigh for that purchase. This whole thing probably had something to do with the war with Faxanavia and that side against several aggressors. Orzio had declared their support for them, and apparently would now have to do some fighting for trying to be supportive.

A protective cap of 1 E-3 AWACS and 2 E-4 Nightwatchers were ordered up to cover the country. The E-4s would take north and south, while the E-3 would take the central part. Each flew on a racetrack pattern, all operating at 70% of maximum power, which would give them a fairly good view of anyone approaching, with a decent response time. Also up were escorts, a pair of F-15Es for each radar bird, while on the ground two squadrons of F-46 Razors were on standby for scrambled launche (ooc: Orzio squad = 20 planes).

The problem was, the Alfegos forces weren't there. They chuckled in a sotre room off the main entrance as the men ran into the building, straight past the sticky grenade in a can. There was a clang as it was dislodged, beofre a hiss, as the corridor was filled with sticky foam. It would take quite a while for the enemy to get out, and after, their weapons would be useless, clogged with adhesive foam..

They came out, waved to the Black ops team, and continued to move through the HQ building.

There was big guns coming in: VDB and Cookesland. It was deemed priority just to get this over and done with, so the entire Alfegos army went straight for the city of JohnandKaye, with eveything.

Alfesgos weapons streaked through the sky. But, Faxanavia wouldn't let such a devastating attack lie easy. The front wave of 50000 men in IFVs, MGSs, LRTs, LBTs and EFVs would hit the outer enemy defences in 5 minutes.

=====

The AAF were taking hits left and right. But most planes managed to loose at least half of their payload of 300 lb bombs, missiles and, in the case of the slower heavy bombers, massive carpets of napalm along the main roads. Rural streetlighting, it was called. It had devestating effects in battles before: enemy platoons completely incinerated, enemy tanks heated internally to 1200 degrees,

It would probably have the same effect now, killing defenders and stopping them from using main streets.

Most of the planes were shot down, so only 8 planes were able to limp away from the cloud of death. But they had done their plan: to cause massive damage to the enemy.

=====

To make sure that most of the enemy was gone, the artillery opened up again on the enemy city of Johnandyoko, weaving a carpet of explosions.

=====

The squad heard a nouise behind them. They turned, and no-one was there. Strange. Then their IR googles picked up the faint heat signatures of a squad of men hiding behind them. As they rounded a corner, one of the set a tripmine to the wall, before turning into another room. This one appeared to be a comms room. They quickly dispatched any people by nailing them to their monitors,

After that, one of the placed delicatly a graphite bomb into the server hub, while another placed the graphite bomb into the radio antenna control. They silently exploded, leaving threads of graphite all over delicate electrical connections, short circuiting them.

The room blacked out, and the computers ceased to purr. That was done. Now they had to find someone who knew something. The next room along seemed a likely bet.

The Antigran President was sitting in his office, going through some paperwork.
Suddenly, the roar of a six-cylinder engine broke the silence as a silver BMW tore onto the gravel drive, lights flashing.
Within minutes, a messenger was in his office.

"Sir! A message from the Defence Secretary!"

"Oh?"

"You know those Faxanavian guys and all those others in that conflict you ordered us to keep an eye on?"

President Pierce's face took on a worried expression. "Yup"

"Thousands of troops from all over the world have deployed. The Defence Secretary asks that we deploy, and help in this conflict"

"Tell him to hold his horses. Let's not rush into things"

The messenger saluted. "Yes, sir!"

"Oh, and one more thing..." The president looked down at his desk and grinned. "Tell him to put the 5th Army and support operatives on standby"

(OOC: Sorry for the crap post, but I haven't been told which side I'm on yet. Fax, you should really fix that. I'd really prefer the defenders)

"We lost Strawberry Fields?!"
"Yes, sir."
"Deploy all troops immediately. I want all our SAM bases up, whatever it takes. We cannot lose Johnandyoko. All defenses put up, do what you need to do."
"Immediately, sir."

Pvt. Julian McCartney jabbed his handgun into the woman's back. He dropped instantly. He always prided himself on his pistolwhip. He pounded her in the back of the head for good measure. "We have a prisoner, sir."
"What? I want to see him! Now!"
"It's a woman, sir."
"Fine! Here!"

Slowly the woman came to her senses. She slowly opened her eyes, and then they slowly shut. Now she was fully awake. The commissar grabbed his rifle and swung it into her chest. "Talk!"

She coughed and remained silent. As he was about to hit her again, he noticed a small white pill around her neck. She must have been important.

"Take her to 6-14 Sickle! Maximum protection! Now! Go!"

(You can generally tell when I'm plotting something horrible when I start making nonsensical -and sometimes hidden- OOC interjections)

Skies near Nocturnia
Flight 1A: MiG-31s on 'highball' SEAD 4 planes
The MiG-31s were mostly a diversion, flying at redline and high altitude, they'd show up like christmas tree on a dark day, if the SOJs worked, then finding them would be like finding a fly in a room with a microscope, since stand-off-jamming renders the otherwise omni-potent search radars useless, forcing them to rely almost entirely upon their narrow beam tracking RADARs, which in turn activates the MiG-31's RWRs allowing them time to box and cox jam until they pass the danger zone, then they can report the enemy radar site to the F-111s for an Anti-radiation misile strike.

They mostly carried long range AAMs to deal with any scrambled air supiriority fighter in the area, after which they'd send the slower interceptors on a wild goose chase.

Flight 1B: FB-111s on 'Lowball' SEAD 4 planes
These planes flew 4 abreast, at altitudes of less than 200 feet AGL, but at a relatively slow speed, and with their powerful RADARs off to minimize their chance of detection.
(Before the F-117, the F-111 was the USAF's best deep insertion tactical bomber, and in some respects, still is)

Upon recieving target data from the MiG-31s overhead, they would program and fire a long range Anti-radiation missile, hopefully knocking the station out for good.

Flight 3: F-4H2s from Carrier 'Roanoke' 10 planes
Flight 4A: FMA-6Cs from Light carrier 'Independence' 15 planes
Flight 4B: FMA-6Cs from Carrier 'Roanoke' 30 planes
These planes, following the 'Wild Weasels', would clear Strawberry field and the route to it of any and all opposition. The FMA-6Cs would specificly provide security for the Marine Raiders while the F-4H2s protected the FMA-6Cs.

Flight 5: Hurtian Marine Raiders aboard helicopters 30 Mi-24s and 20 CH-47s
These followed shortly after Flights 3 and 4 cleared the way through, allowing them to unload in relative safety. Though additional firepower was provided by the helicopters themselves in the form of heavy machine-guns and unguided rocket pods.

Underneath these helicopters were slung loads of light armored vehicles and field artillery.

Flight 2A: F-4H2 Phantoms on loose advance escort formation 20 planes
These planes flew ahead of the 'convoy' to give them breathing room in the event of a dogfight, and to probe for a clear path to Nocturnia.

Flight 2B: FMA-6Bs in tight formation escort
Flight 2C1: Cargo planes
Flight 2C2: Gliders in tow
The conditions aboard these planes were far from 'cozy', things were cramped.
The operation consisted of releasing gliders to land first, then the paratroopers while the military cargo aircraft went ahead and LAPESed their armored vehicles out into the field, or dropped their loads ahead of the rest to prevent it from landing on the infantry.

Task Force Marne
Katana class Guided missile Frigates begin Stand-Off-Jamming with the intent to fill the search radars with white noise.

Since multiple Katanas were available, they practiced 'box and cox', that is, rapidly switching the task of jamming from one ship to another while constantly changing position, making a 'home on jam' AShM rather useless in this respect.

Attention Imperial Allies...Attention Imperial Allies, Requesting orders to assist, who needs assistance over??
Orbath
10-09-2007, 05:29
Orbath wasn't an imperialistic nation, it's government wasn't in it for money, land or power. The President viewed the nation as quite unstable. There was obviously a problem when you have 4 or 5 nations battling it out on your land. Orbath wasn't looking to make enemies either. The imperialists would be used to Orbath's advantage. Orbath would use them as allies to help destroy the defending nation. They would then station troops all over, claim as much as they could in the name of Orbath and restore a sane, peaceful, democratic government. This wasn't going to be a walk in the park however, especially with five or six nations battling it out. Military officers looked over the situation for hours, reviewing satellite photos and looking at what had happened so far. They noticed a weakness so far in the defenses. Most of the attacks had been large scale, hundreds of aircraft or munitions that were either batted out of the sky or met with hundreds of interceptors. Thousands were dying for nothing. Stealth would be the way to go for now. No declaration of war, a couple of stealth bomber strikes and an unknown naval task force would appear off the coast within a few days. Maybe even some special forces strikes.

Secret Military Installation, Orbath

The first strike would focus on taking out defenses such as SAM sites, airfields and coastal batteries. It would also attempt to disrupt or destroy communications throughout the nation. A second strike would focus on eliminating hard targets such as bunkers and other defenses. A third strike would focus on military bases and naval ports and a final strike would focus on soft military targets such as units of troops or even vehicles.

12 Stealth Bombers took off, it would take a few hours before they reached their destination. After the first wave took off, another took of a few hours later, and another a few hours later. In total, 60 stealth bombers had taken off. At the same time, ships were loaded with cargo and sailors and soldiers prepared to go to war.

8 Hours Later

The first wing bombers flew in, low over the ocean so radar couldn't detect them. They were stealth bombers anyway and they had split up, each of them would cover a section of the nation. This meant that there chances of being detected were almost nothing. Roughly 25 miles from the coast, a first strike was launched. Hundreds of TACTIT RAINBOW missiles spewed out of the bomb bays. The munitions had been designed to actually seek out radar and destroy it, all on its own. It was quite an effective weapon. The bombers bays opened again and hundreds of JASSAM bombs rocketed towards the shore line. The would impact and destroy coastal defenses. The bomb bay doors shut and the bombers continued ahead. They would have to come quite close before their secret weapons was launched.

10-09-2007, 07:09
The first wave of the Alfegos IFVs and MGSs hit the outer part of the city. At once, they began firing in all directions, at al buildings from someone firing from.

Just behind were the engineer's tanks, which made short work of the improvised defences in the street, allowing thousands more men to pour into the city.

Ahead, the main roads were still ablaze from napalm. The would stop enemy movement for now. The side roads were where they excelled at fighting, and that is where they headed.

Behind them, the main battle tanks began to move towards the enemy HQ, not caring if there were buildings in the way.

President Pierce had given the okay. Almost from the start, he had wanted to help the defenders in any way he could. Now, he was.

-------------

Off the coasts of Noctiana, a naval fleet had ammassed. A landing would take place very soon.

First, any naval vessel with a gun would be firing them, shelling any enemy positions, and creating craters in the beach for cover.

Simultaneously, thousands of airborne would be dropped over the intended advance areas for the day, as well as the areas intended for bases.

After that, the ships would keep firing until seconds before the landing vehicles hit the beach.

All aircraft would be escorted by naval fighters, which would try to gain air superiority. Once this had been mostly acheived, bombers would bomb any known enemy positions to the ground with bombs, EMP, and napalm.

Troops would be allocated to advancing, creating a beachhead, and creating combined temporary airfields/bases. The marines would continue ahead to meet up with the airborne, which would then hold their positions and wait to be joined by regular forces. The railguns would be offloaded and put together within 6 hours, which would then immediately begin to fire.

Invasion in two hours. (OOC: *Starts dribbling and babbling insanely*)

The troops had taken a large swath of land in the city. The advance still had momentum as it continued towards the capital.

=====

An enemy counter-attack was expected shortly, with masses of shipping moving towards the nation from Antigr.

Therefore, the 8 subs of the constrictor squadron crept up below the enmy ships. Once in range of 5 miles, they began letting off all the torpedos on board towards the enemy shipping.

The commander on board one of the subs ordered the AS missiles on board to be launched at the ships with the heaviest AA defences.

=====

Meanwhile, the 3 grand cruisers, along with their accompanying cruiser and destroyers, set about moving towards the enemy ships. Ahead of them were 10 attack boats, armed with torpedo tubes and small 40 mm cannons. These would be attacking the landing craft that were moving towards the shore.

=====

In the sky, Wing Commander Lor'soi Jackson was issuing commands to the other 14 interceptors in his wing. They were to fly in from their ceiling height, and dive on any enemy bombers.

5 minutes behind them, 20 more planes re-enforcing them from the homeland were travelling, ready to aid if the battle turned nasty. They were modified FCI - 04s, each with a nose mounted GAU - 4 cannon, and wings holding 8 Sidewinder XI missiles, designed to lock onto enemy planes using infared an visual guidance, so were very hard to deter.

Any stealth bombers in the area would have a hard time.

=====

Coming from the carrier were 30 FCN - 88 Fighter Bombers, equipped each with 4 AAMRAM Vs for taking enemy planes that followed, but more importantly with 8 CSD II torpedos for taking down any enemy ships before the big guns got into range.

=====

In the bunker, the generator was found, and two graphite bombs left on timer to short-circuit the entire place.

First, they would have to get out, before everyone was alerted. To ease their passage, they left the rest of their sticky greandaes, 5 in all, along the corridor. They were detonated, leaving walls of foam that would be difficultin the least to get through.

They would likely have to blow themselves out. But they would need a plan of the building to find the best location, or the other exit.

And, so, Black Rooster made it's move. With practiced ease, a grenade was rolled towards the door behind which the Alfegos forces had barricaded themselves. 30 seconds later, the still drying foam was blasted from the door by the concussive force. In went several flash grenades, and then came the Faxanavian forces. Black rooster squadron Beta-2 came in guns blazing, emptying the out the cartridges of their AWK-1 rapid fire weapons. Their goal was to keep these forces from ever leaving the room.

They then went back out, to find the place's generator.

OOC: that, I'm going to ignore, because, hey, guess what? It's godmoding!

IC: The Faxanavians were going to have to think on their feet. The Alfegos forces were overflowing the city. Someone had blown a communications center. Johnandyoko was in ruins. The solution had to be drastic.

The strike had to be swift and fast, and painful. The first assault launched as the 50 remaining planes, supplemented by another 75 reinforcements, began their deployment. The Faxanavian troops moved back as the bombers above began dropping their payloads- 500 pound bombs, directly onto the enemy. From what was left of the trucks, the EMP "Air Raid" was launched, with the effect to target farther enemy forces, to wipe their electronics. A system of snipers set across the roofs took down who they could on the front lines, while artillery was fired deep into the oncoming ranks.
Alfegos
10-09-2007, 21:14
The front wave was brought down by the EMP missiles, and the men had to resort to house-to house clearence, bloody at the best.

The artillery hit the massed central ranks, but still they continued, oblivious to casualites. The momentum of the strike was to keep up, especially since they needed to capture the headquarters.

The LY4s in the forward charge towards the command complex kept going, blasting anything in their way to dust. They had met some resistance from the buildings in their way, but soon were through, driving over the burning rubble of buildings levelled by directed fire from the weapons on board.

They were estimated to be 150 metres from central command and closing.

=====

The house to house fighting had most of the forward charge pinned inside by snipers. The main massed attack was expected in minutes. But when would that happen?

As they said that, the city was once again flattened even more by the enemy. Soon, the IFVs wouldn't even need to use the streets.

As for the planes, well... the special weapons teams just across the street had dragged out their stinger missile launchers, as well as most of their ammo. That would divert fire from them.

=====

In the main ranks, the LY220 Shepherds let rip with multiple launches of heavy rockets, all aimed for the incoming smashed planes.

Johnandyoko Invaders

The Uir AA troops all knew most of it was hopeless. Even if they were supposed to take Johnandyoko, the Faxanavians were too many. None of the troops would've ever admitted that as long as they lived - even if it wasn't much longer. Many saw the bravest people they knew get killed out of no where. The last thing many of them saw was an enemy trooper.

The enemies had to focus on other troops too though, Alfegon troops were invading under Uir distraction. That hadn't been the plan, but hell, it worked. Mokastanans were invading too, and it seemed like the faxanavians would be overwhelmed - or not - they didn't really care. Their mission was to kill as many enemies as possible and to perhaps take the city, perhaps.

Off the coast of Noctiana

The Naval fleet had been alerted to the presence of other ships, most likely enemies, and if they were allies, they'd be shot down anyways - splitting a country more than four ways is too much work. The 100mm cannons of the Jeanne d'Arcs bore down on the [Vanekian/Orbathan, it's whoever RPs first's] ships. 40 mm and 12.7 mm calibre shots and Exocet missiles were also launched.

The Brigadier-General kept going, admist all the naval ships, avoiding them as much as possible. The Uir Battle Fleet had stopped and that gave the Brigadier-General some more time to catch up.

E-3 AWACS, call sign "Eagle 2"

"Incoming, incoming!! Multiple bandits bearing one-seven-zero, range four-four-zero-zero meters and closing fast. Scramble, scramble, scramble!"

With that call, the E-3 went to max radar power, able to track the incoming MiGs easily. Inside operators were relaying orders to the just now fighters lifting off, with more being readied as fast as possible. The number of incoming counted at 120, and now in hindsight the general in charge of the CAP swore at himself for not having at least one sqaud already in the air for this very reason.

F-46 Razor Squadron, "The Screaming Devils"

They were the first off the ground and to form up, with the second -46 squad fast on their tail. The "Devils" would lead, but the numbers didn't look good at the moment: 40 against 120. Ah well, it wouldn't be exciting unless you were down 3 to 1, thought the lead pilot.

The approaching bandits were heading west, taking them right over Orzo Bay. It appeared their path would take them towards the twin capital cities of Orza and Orzadia. But it was the "Devils" job to not let that happen.

The two squads split, one would be approaching from the bandits 3 o'clock, the other from the 10 o'clock. One good thing about the -46s were that, unless the bandits knew exactly what to look for on their radar screens, the -46s were offly hard to see, having a RCS like a hummingbird. But just in case, the lead pilot did have a small trick up his sleeve. He sent a message to the other squad. All 20 of them, in turn, opened their weapons bays, armed their missles, and turned their search radars to max power as the two forces closed at nearly 1,000 mph. When the second squad of -46s were in range, they would launch their AIM-120s, close their weapon bays, go to passive mode, and head for the deck. When they were in range, a total of 80 missles would be launched at the MiGs.

That would be the time when the "Devils" would lit up their radars and weapons. With the MiGs attention more or less on the second squad, they would hopefully be able to get closer than max range, maybe even close enough to fire their AIM-9 Sidewinders. Once the second squad had gone passive, the "Devils" would pounce, launching another 80 missles at whoever hadn't gone down in the first bunch.

Back on the ground, a squad of F-15Es and F-16s were being scrambled, as well as 2 more squads of -46s, and even 1 squad of FB-22s, outfitted for air/air combat.

A brief communique went out from Faxanvia to the anti-imperialists.

Gentleman,
We must, I repeat must, hold Johnandyoko. From there, we can establish our strong hold, but if we lose Johnandyoko, we lose the south, and it is not long before we lose the north.

Faxanavian forces were up to their knees now in the rubble. They kept on moving, kept on going. More and more of Black Rooster was being deployed, and artillery teams roamed the streets, ready to take down any tanks in their way. Lyran APC's and MBT's ran side by side with LY300 artillery. Transports were en-route through New Umberland to resupply. The Faxnavians new they had to hold Johnandyoko.

More troops rushed into the city, searching for the enemy. Snipers were sent up along strategic points and tanks landed onto the beach. Around 1,500,000 soldiers had landed, about 1,000,000 survived and more were coming in by the minute.

A message was sent towards the Faxanavian signal. "Please signal location of Faxanavian troops, Vanek'ian troops have entered the city and found no resistance."

Then they saw the 300 planes and turned around except for one...it fired one missile, "off switch" and they afterburn-ed their way back to the fleet. the missile was a massive EMP device. its design was to EMP a small fleet, but it worked just as well against an air force. the EMP blast was a 5 mile radius,

The ALfegos forces felt more urgency to supress the enemy now. Onc ethe bombers had passed over, the rest of the main wave had slammed into the town, destroying any bell towers and buildings in their way. Soon, they found theselves in the street going towards their HQ. Now for some fun.

The IFVs in front gunned their engines and roared towards the command centre, letting loose hails of bullets, follwed by explosions as the LY4 s crashed thorugh the nearby buildings towards the HQ.

=====

"What are we gonna do about VDB? We're already enaging Antigr...."

"Well, we always have these!!!"

From the mainland ALfegos came a massive barrage of cruise missiles, known as Sledghammers. They each were armed with a 500 lb warhead of HMX, and each was cabable of putting a battelship out of action.

And there were thirty of them. Thrity sleek birds of death.

=====

To solve the troops on the ground problem, Alfegos decided to use it's own EMP weapons.

From a maglev cargo-carriage burst an ICBM, tipped with such a warhead. It was aimed at the VDB forces landing on the beach, and would offer them the consideration to change their course of action.

Behind them came 15 heavy bombers, with payloads of Napalm.

=====

As the bombers came in, they began to pour red-hot napalm around the landing area where the soldiers were, trapping them in.

They then proceed to start to move from side to side inside that area, burning any enemys that it touched.

After about 10 seconds, they flew away, leaving a huge ball of smoke behind them.

Admiral Jervais stood at the bridge of his recommisioned Blazer, one of the Aeolus-Class Carriers. There was a fair ammount of bustle going on across the various stations as they started to pick up enemy fleet movements. It seemed that the invasion had begun some time ago, judging by the ammount of devastation already wreaked across the landscape. Unfortunately it had taken longer to get underway than expected due to some problems at the regional port. Now, however, the First DRC Fleet had arrived at the combat zone. "Send a message to anyone listening. I want to find out exactly what's happened, and who we can expect to help us." After Jervais spoke the man he was addressing snapped to attention and began to transmit this message:

Up in the bridge of the Battleship S.F.F. Delaroy, the officer of the watch had spotted the torpedo tracks. He ran over to a control panel and pressed a large red button. An alarm bell sounded and the CIWS sprung into action. Seconds later came the missiles.
Thankfully, Antigran designers had thought of situations such as this, and as such the ship had 23 CIWS stations. Other ships fired off as well. Unfortunately, two missiles got through and hit the S.F.F. Merlay, an Air-Defence cruiser. She reeled from the blast and fires sprung up from the deck and hole in the upper hull. White foam erupted as automatic fire-suppresion systems and damage-control teams kicked in. Aircraft followed almost immediately. The Merlay and others gave what they could, as did the just-scrambled fighter jets. Luckily, the enemy didn't have ship-based SAMs on their side and enemy losses were slightly greater.
Thank god for 400 heavily-armed planes. The trnasports and invasion ships steamed on towards the coast with the rest of the fleet surrounding them, still firing. A message from Faxanavia had decided them to head towards Johnandyoko.

The enemy, though they could not see it, were unawares of the adavnced networked SAM system, that sent hails of cannon fire into the bellies of approaching missiles.

The enemy planes were in for it to: as the foremost grand-cruiser let rip with a huge volley of 120 mm shells at the nearest aircraft carrier, the trailing cruisers let loose a storm of cannon fire, streaking into the sky at any plane unfortunate eneough to be in the way.

Then the order came in: all the ships shut external hatches, locked them to air-tight quality, and retracted the comms units temporarily

=====

As the battle commenced, a jet travelling at 10 metres altitude let drop from its interior hold a missile, covered in blue paint, that travelled at high speed to within a mile of the battle zone. There, an explosion and spontaneous discharge of over 1 million volts from capacitors in the nose unleashed a chain of events that led to a brilliant burst of energy.

The EMP that was let loose caused the jet to loose power, and the crew to eject.

But the pulse of energy that caused the air to glow as it ionised was far more destructive to enemy ships, who were within its 7 mile radius. Especially the landing craft, that would have no way of shielding themselves.

=====

The subs were safe, surrounded by water. They continued to fire at the ships from under the water, before disappearing into the backround with tehir sonar camoflauge.

The troops were being assisted by Mokastanans although now Vanek'ians were entering. Troops formed a circular mob, one side firng back, the other side firing forward. Now with assistance, they would be able to do something useful. If one of soldiers ran out of bullets, they'd take some from the nearest corpse. If no corpes were available, they'd just wait. The force had been cut to around 14,980.

Naval Warfare

The ships coninued firing their cannons and missiles at the Vanek'ians and Cookese(OOC: What is your demonym?). Apparently, the MiGs weren't fazed by the first barrage of missles to be sent at them. They were not fighting back, not even a turn from course. The lead "Devil" pilot swore, kicked on his burner and screamed through the sky in pursuit. The rest of the squad followed suit. They were approaching Mach 2.5 now, easily closing the distance, and they weren't even at max speed yet, though their fuel was rapidly leaving them.

They closed to within missle range in time to see the first bombs being dropped. Swearing again, another volley of missles were launched, a total of 100 this time. Even if the bandits caused damage, there would be very few that would return to their base.

Instantly all communications were down. "What the..." said the Admiral. "Hello, copy, this is the TPS Woods..." no response.

But not all the ships were in the blast radius. Some ships survived, like the flagship, TPS Vanek. They continued to talk to the troops while being aware of the fact the other ships' communications were knocked out.

Immediately radar picked up missiles heading towards the ships. The remaining ships with communications started aiming their anti-aircraft guns at them.

15 bombers were also picked up on radar. SAM batteries were loaded, and fired.

The Air

Immediately the missile was seen, and the planes scrambled to get out of there. They just managed to. Then they set off towards the Mokastana air force.

In Johnandyoko

The Vanek'ian troops went down the street, ducking beneath rubble, just in case. Private Ryan Carbon was hiding behind some rubble. It was rumored the beach had been bombed and most of the VDB Fleet had been taken out.

Boom!

An IED had gone off, right next to him. His backup, Private Tersley, had been blown up. He moved down the street and followed his superior officer Captain Rac into the deeper parts of the city. The rest of the 1.5 million soldiers followed, now on high alert. Despite that, a couple were killed. Certain soldiers started to prep their flamethrowers for any action.

The Beach

The beach was burning. The Vanek'ians were rushing in the other troops as fast as they could. They headed down the other side of the beach, while others attempted to put out the flames with seawater. Troops were getting past.

ooc: No problem, I just thought you might have missed them. Its all good.

ic:

There was not much to do on the ground but run for cover and hope you didn't get hit. Orzio didn't have the missle defenses yet to counter incoming missles and bombs, so the best they could do now was to put out the fires as fast as possible. Dozens of buildings were engulfed in flames (ooc: assuming that you dropped 2 bombs per MiG?), resembling old-fashioned aerial bombings from WWII. Thousands of people died in the initial blasts, and hundreds more would die from burns or exposure. At present, about 1/4 of the city was in flames, threatening to break loose into more of the city.

In the air, the -46s honed in on their targets (ooc: Yeah, your math is good for me). A bunch of MiGs went down from the two volleys, but there were still bandits to deal with. Too close now for missles, they ran into a hail of bullets spewing from the MiGs. 12 "Devils" were knocked down as they sailed past, and 6 more from the second squad. The -46 was a good plane, but not one really built for dogfighting, so the second squad flew past, hoping to get to distance to fire what was left of their missles. Once they got there, they turned and launched a volley of 20 missiles.

The remaining 8 "Devils", on the other hand, wanted revenge for those just lost. They angled between and through the now rapidly disentigrating formations of the two forces, taking whatever shot they could as quickly as possible. Another "Devil" burst into flames right as he shot off a missle at less than 100 meters.

About ready to jump into the fight were a sqaud of F-15s, -16s, and another of -46s, eager to take over for the first two squads. They would be within missle range in one minute.

ooc: So, I guess that it stands as 55 MiGs to 21 F-46s by my math. Sound good to you? Plus, I've also got another 60 about to jump in.

5 more MiG-27s went down because of the -46s. Another couple went down because of the Devils. It was time to head back, the -27s headed up to an altitude of 14,000 metres (47,000 feet) and reached Mach 2. They as fast as they could, not noticing whether or not others went down. They had to get out of there.

OOC: Nobody said anything about my post. Brief recap, I launched hundreds of TACTIT RAINBOWS, radar seeking drones all along the coastline. They will hunt down and kill SAM and radar sites. They are MT.

The bombers continued on. The pilots were confident that they had done some damage to the enemy air defenses. More damage was about to be done. The bomb bay doors opened on each bomber and out flew 12 ''Blackout bombs'', a munition first used by the US in Serbia. The bombs would explode and disable electronics over quite a wide area. They had been targeted at suspected power plants and communications towers to do maximum damage. Finally, the bombers let loose with hundreds of JASSAM bombs. The bombs were mainly targeting coastal defenses but some also targeted communications towers and bunkers. The bombers then turned and headed back towards home. Along the way they would pass a second wave of bombers, which would be arriving in a couple of hours. They would also pass over the massive naval fleet that had just left Orbath, steaming towards the ocean.

ooc: Alright, I'll make mention of that a little later.

ic:

So, the bandits were racing for home. The MiGs were going fast now. The F-46 Razor could go faster. A top speed of Mach 3.2 to be exact. While that sounded good, the reality was that with the new -46 group ordered to give chase, even at full speed they would just barely catch up to the tailing elements of the MiGs before bingo fuel would force them to turn back for home. In all likelyhood, they wouldn't bring down any more MiGs, so the fresh fighters all stayed up in the air for CAP duty, while the first wave of -46s landed to refuel and rearm, and take count of what happened in this first battle.
Orbath
11-09-2007, 22:35

OOC:
I quoted my first post. To summarize again, I've launched about a thousand TACTIT RAINBOWS all along the coast. The weapons seek out and destroy radar or SAM sites. Close to 100s JASSAM bombs also were also launched targeting coastal defenses and the odd communications tower and bunker. 12 ''Blackout bombs'' were also launched, targeting power stations and communication's towers.

The SEAD flight encountered an unnervinly small amount of resistant, absolutely none. Due to the confusing and rapid nature of the war beneath them, they had not realized that Strawberry fields was no longer defended, and was technically already under Imperalist control.

As such, the FB-111/MiG-31 combo just kept moving inland, even though this meant the effectiveness of the SOJ by the offshore fleet would be ever less effective.

The initial wave of Marine raiders were rather unpleasantly surprised to city called "Strawberry Fields" where they planned on finding a strawberry field. This error was caused by not requisitioning any maps, and relying on GPS coordnates and geographical names. A major blunder, but understandable considering this was a last minute invasion. As such, they would re-route the landings to occur slightly outside of town.

The Raiders simply tasked themselves with securing a perimiter, awaiting the airborne infantry before pressing into Strawberry Fields.
------
After the airdrop had been completed, and all gear stowed, they rolled through the city with their tanks, finding it almost a ghost town, nothing moved, the windows were all closed. True, there was the occassional person walking the streets, but the place was nearly lifeless due to the EMP bringing city life to a grinding halt.

Here is where the Marines differed from HOI, rather than continuing on with the advance, they stopped.

They stopped and started treating the ill who had developed medical complications since the power outage, and gave warm food to those who relied on electric stoves, resteraunts, refridgerators, and microwaves to cook their meals. They set up a jury rigged water pump to refill their water towers, which were nearly empty. And then started getting their generators back up and running.
------
The air escort, no longer needed to protect the landing zone or the airdrops, pressed ahead to strike targets of oprotunity before heading back for home.

(OOC: EMPing yourself, how could you....)

The Battle fleet docked at the coastal base, and all the men left the ships. Logistical personnel went to look for any damage and replenish any lost stores. Meanwhile the Rear Admiral, Brigadier General and Minister-President had a conversation about what had happened.

"How many troops left with you, Brigadier General?" asked the President.

"About 20, why?" replied the Brigadier.

"So you left 21,980 soldiers to die?"

"Correct, sir."

"If any of them live, they'll be heroes."

"The Faxanavians...they care a lot about the city."

"What do you mean?"

"It is of vital importance to them."

"We'll bomb it, but first we need to clear the troops, and report to the families of the soldeirs."

This time the Rear Admiral spoke, "We lost 5 Dupuay-Trouins. I shall also inform the families."

"You lost five? Well, then I guess that brings the casualty count 23,555 Uir soldiers alone. I hope we don't go overboard." answered the Mr. Forgul.

----------

The jets came in and landed while Edward Forgul headed there to double check the casualty estimate.

"55 planes went down?"

"Yes sir,"

"Is Orzio as ferocious as we thought?"

"Definetly. We managed to practically decimate what is probably the capitol or a big enough city for them to worry about. Burning buildings and everything. You really should've seen the show."

"Excellent. You shall prepare for another bombing."

"What? But we'd be killed. It's bad enough we lost more than half the wing, you want to loose another 75 planes?"

"No, I guess not. Good job though."

With that the leader went to organize a meeting with the other Imperuial forces. A message went out to the respective leaders in Hurtful Thoughts, Alfegos and Mokastana:

Dear other Imperial forces,
I commend your troops' actions and I would like to have a meeting about Johandyoko.

The Faxanavian forces were now reinforcing their defenses. With the Anti-imperialists forces on the wain, they needed to re-fortify. Around the borders of claimed areas, portable S-400's were established. Tanks patrolled. Multiple heavy earth movers were air-lifted in to shift away the rubble.

Meanwhile, the Faxanavian forces were trying their hardest to keep the enemy pinned down with suppressive rapid fire and artillery shells. Much needed supplies had come in with the heavy earth movers, and the troops would be able to eat tonight.

Since the Mokastanan's had refused to surrender, the Faxanavian forces followed through on their threat. They shot to kill.

THe commander slammed down the radio...

"approximatively 4 miles"

"shell the fuck outta anyone who gets close"

while the Faxanavian forces continued to get closer to Mokastana Lines the amount of booby traps increased, along with the shelling, under the roads were anti-tank mines, disposable rockets hooked up to tension wire to fire at whatever crossed it, Building set to collapse when infantry secured the second floor, ambush teams set up kill zones and fought to the death...the road to the Mokan Lines was pretty much void of actual troops, minus a few for ambushes but they left many presents along the way

The Mokastana and Faxanavians were trying to get the other to surrender while Uir Troops poured rounds into Vanek'ians and Faxanavians. Word had finally gotten around that the Brigadier-Genral had fled or was dead. This left the next highest up in charge. The problem was that he had died. This left a group of next-highest-ups in charge. They were dead as well. It was up to Major Jufo to lead the remaining...12,000 troops away from the fray and into safety.

Major Pasal Jufo wasn't a leader type. He just knew how to avoid being shot. He took the group around him and united the troops. The next step was leaving. They decided the best root was to Strawberry Fields which all the Lieutenants and up knew was under Imperialist control.

"Which way is strawberry fields?" many of the troops asked. The only answer was towards the Faxanavians. They plowed through killing and dying...

The Vanek'ians responded, sometimes 50 people going after 1. They continued to advance to the Mokastanians, but being super carefull about it. Aircraft flew over the Mokastanians dropping presents, including EMPs, and AGM-65 Mavericks, and transmitting coordinates for Tomahawk missiles to the ships remaining with communications, mainly missile launchers and gun platforms. 25 Tomahawk missiles were fired toward these things, and more were on the way. The Vanek'ians just had superior numbers, as troops quickly came onto the beach and towards Johnandyoko. Tanks followed the troops, using the not so known way to the Mokastanians.

To scout out, planes also ran across the skies of Strawberry Fields dropping EMPs, AGM-65s, and transferring more coordinates, in preparation.

"It seems to me, gentleman," said Prime Minister Ivansky Bochick, "That Strawberry fields might have a chance. What shall we do?"

Roughly an hour later, this question was answered. Deploying from their Faxanavian hangars, the awesome might of 300 BF-11 Mudhens ripped off in their respendent glory. The vast white and gray planes ripped off towards the border. At Mach 4, they were there in roughly half an hour. From there, it was a simple procedure: the broke down into respective groups of 50, and soared towards Strawberry Fields.

The attack was sudden. From above came the streaking forces. They hurtled over the city, deploying their payloads into the Mokastanan base, and into the Uir forces that were coming up the coasts. The crippled city would stand no chance. The rain of destruction was only matched by what the fighter part of the BomberFighter title of the BF-11. Roughly a hundred planes had established themselves, preparing for air superiority. They were loaded with Starstreak missles and enough rapid fire bullets to take out a nuclear silo. They were ready.

Faxanvian forces, moving north from New Umberland encampments, were ready too. This was it. The big one. The battle to retake Strawberry Fields.

What Mokan troops made it out could, but eventually the base would become became a smoldering crater. Luckilly a few Patriot batteries had been repaired after the EMPs and fired on the Incoming Aircraft, their duty was to protect the retreat, over all 75were operational, compared to the 460 Patriot Batteries sitting in the area...

Iron heart APCs and IFVs were the front of the retreat..followed by trucks and what equipment they could pull...Infantry were covering and hiding against the explosions.

20 men ejected, almost simulatneously, as their planes were ripped apart by AA fire. The rest, however, were prepared. Flares and decoys deployed, drawing the fire. The planes in the bombing navigate out away from the Patriot systems, loosing their own missiles towards the AA. They swooped after the retreating Mokastanan forces, deploying their explosive devices. Several more were blown from the air by the oppresive fire, but they responded with their starfire missles.

In Johnandyoko, things were looking good. The Uir forces were retreating, and the Mokastanans were backing up. However, they had one problem: the Mokostanans had left behind them a trail of potential destruction and death.

John Ajax was one of the premier field engineers. He now wished he wasn't. The other faxanvian forces had moved back from the mine field, and he was now moving in, in a modified earth mover, designed to be able to park on mines, nevermind run into them. His mission was simple, but complex.

Pulling the earth mover forward with great care, Ajax positioned himself centrally. He was now roughly a mile down the road. He hadn't actually met the Mokastana artillery yet, adn he didn't want to. With a gulp, he pushed the button in front of him.

The reaction went fast. An EPFCG (Explosively pumped flux compression generator) was a powerful tool. As John pressed the button, the engine cut out. This is because the entire 12,000 horsepower engine, needed to move the machine, turned it's attention to the wire inserted into it, routing all of it's energy along the wire. This led to twin coils of wire, hidden inside a lightweight container on the front of the mover. as the energy pulsed, the container fell away, revealing a solenial of light explosive, and two coils within. John pressed the second button.

The solenial exploded. 12,000 horsepower of magnetic flux exploded, passing out. Every single electronic object, including the earth mover, with in a mile was completely shorted within a minute. John hit the second button, and with the little power remaining, sent the one word command needed: Go.

I'd just love if you RPed the damage I caused...

Most of the planes, 300, escaped the carnage. But a good 100 had to eject. Missiles fell down like rain, and coodinates were set. Around 400 miles away, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer fired a Tomahawk missile at SAM batteries and missile launch pads. Then more fired, around 30. A RQ-2 Pioneer buzzed around Strawberry Fields. It was small enough to be caught on radar as a bird, yet, perfect for reconnaissance. Around 10 of them stayed around, equipped with Birdcloak technology (wish I had a picture, but basically it's like a chameleon. Somebody in II sold it) giving more coordinates, and flew towards the retreating troops. Then, to finish it off, a good ole SSBN submarine (one that fires ballistic missiles) fired a range of IRBMs at Strawberry Fields, designed to get the imperialistic nations' military HQ.

Reminder to self, help Noctiana rebuild Strawberry Fields, thought Admiral Eric Belanger on the flagship TPS Vanek as the IRBMs and Tomahawks were fired.

Royal Chambers

Consul Philiby II had the message passed to him shortly after dinner. He read it once, then another time, but more carefully. He wasn't sure what to make of this: the Uiri leader was asking about the damage his bombers cause, opened the possibility of peace, and requested Orzio remove its coastal mines? Something smelled, and it wasn't the remenants of food left on his plate. He called his Intelligence Director, as well as his Ministers of Defense and Foreign Relations.

"So, what can you tell me about Uiri, and its leader Edward Forgul?," he asked Intell.

"I'm afraid not much sir. Our networks not very big yet, and Uiri hadn't come up on the map as a threat before this. Frankly, we just don't know what his true intentions are, or even if he is planning something. From the intercepts we are getting from the battles in Faxanavia, it would appear he is a man who wants to take what he sets his sight on, and is nearly willing to go to great lengths to achieve Uiri control. This is speculation, however."

Philiby next turned to his Defense minister, "What is the state of our military? Can we hold off more attacks if need be?"

"Their first attack caught us by surprise in the number of attackers, but that certainly won't happen again. We will maintain constant air patrols, as well as sea patrols. Our sonar buoys are being extended in the hopes of hearing a little farther out than usual, and we have constant surface patrols. Thank goodness our order for naval ships with Darthia a few months back. With our new carriers, we'll be able to detect and engage any attackers much further out than before.

"As for the ground, well, our bases in Orzadia took a major hit. That city won't be hosting any forces for a while until its repaired. The rest of the country is on high alert, ready to go. We've garrisoned the coastal cities, as well as strategic points on the coast and inland. We should, if all goes as planned, be able to respond to any incursion within ten minutes with battalion, possibly even brigade strength. However, I would recommend not removing the mines, at least not yet, untill we can figure out what he really wants."

Finally, Philiby turned to his Foreign Relations minister.

"His message relays a nonchalaunte-ness to it. He's waffly, if you will. But it does give us an opening to discuss his terms, to at least see what he wants. Wouldn't hurt to give it a try."

To: Leader of Uiri, Edward Forgul
From: Leader of Orzio, Philiby II

We are willing to have any talks with you that you would like. However, I must insist that the mines stay where they are, at least for the moment, until it is proven that they are not needed any more. It is unfortunate that one of your ships ran into it, but frankly, you should not have been that close in the first place. It is our intention to cooperate, but the mines stay.

As for the damage, surely you have satellites to show you the damage. The city smolders from the fires. Many thousands are dead, many more wounded. I should ask you how you liked having less than half your attacking force return.

Vanek'ian troops immediately started to attack the Mokastana defences, with M1 Abrams, soldiers, and Vanek'ian planes that flew by. It wouldn't be long until the crater would be destroyed completely. Maybe it would be soon.

A swift survey of the planes showed that the Mokastanan retreat had done more damage then originaly thought. In total, of the hundred planes who had bombed, thirty now remained. The devastating AA assault had left it's mark, but now, reinforcements were arriving. The cavalry had come.

The Faxanavian Fifth Heavy Infantry was a site to behold. 100 men, each in teams of two. They had dug in and prepared for the long haul. Each team had a shoulder mounted launcher, and several starfire missiles. They would establish a preliminary defense from where Faxanavian AA could be established.

The Faxanavian 5th and 6th armored were there too. The vast LY-4 tanks rolled their way acrosswhat remained of the cities, ready to intercept the enemy.

Finally, several divisions of light infantry were there too. They spread out, following the commands of the tactical leader. They would be aiming to take down any Mokastanans who got in their way.

OOC: I suppose it's time for the Hurtian flyboys to lend a hand over in Johnandyoko.
http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13045371&postcount=122

IC:

News of the fall of Johnandyoko and its return to the non-Imperialist forces had finally been realized by Wilson Spalding, in response, he chose to re-route all diverted Hurtian flights for an H&I run as a counter attack.

Flights 3 and 2A
The 30 planes from HTS Roanoke and New Roanoke Island Proving ground -a bitter irony- swept in at full afterburner, and kicked in their retrofitted water injection systems, allowing an improved 'redline' at mach 2.6, not quite as fast as a MiG-25 or 31, but by all means faster than anything the enemy had available, the cost however, would be decreased accuracy and increased fuel consumption, making it a pass and dash affair, dropping all their bombs in a single pass, with some light strafeing via their 35 mm gunpods. They also attempted to prevent decent BVRAAM interception by their own, slightly infirior jammers -in comparission to specialized airborne jammers- and switching their jamming between their planes so as to force missiles with passive guidance to wind between the planes harmlessly, this was also compounded by a series of jinking manuvers when the RWR telltale was lit.

Flight 4:
The combined might of 45 planes would then follow up behind, intending to cause the bulk of the damage to the ground forces, taking advantage of their slower speed, smaller RCS, greater armor plating, and longer loiter times in order to preicession bomb and strafe enemy armoured columns to much greater effect. Hiding behind the massive jamming of the F-4H2s helped maintain surprise.

Flight 1:
The MiG-31/FB-111 combo continued much farther inland, as it had a far different mission now than merely striking an H&I raid.

Strawberry Fields
Alas, as nice as the Hurtian Marines were, the HOI mercenaries were their greater opposite, alternately neglecting the townspeople, abusing them, or berating the Marines for not pressing on in such a time of need.

The Marines however, were keen to convince the HOI contingent to set up a well defended line just outside of the city, to serve not only as a future staging area, but also as a fire support base. However, to do this, the government had to promise to sent a battery of MUHTs into the conflict via An-224 airlift.

Task Force Marne

HTS Roanoke Readied a 2nd flight of ten F-4H2s outfitted for air-to-air combat, as it was assumed the other F-4s would be coming in hot with half the enemy air-force on their tail, plus, there was a subsonic formation of enemy aircraft patroling the shore.

Meanwhile, on the ground, the Vanek'ian forces had been bogged down. The mines and tricks set down by the Moka were started to blow. OOC: VDB: my troops aren't quite that far, so yes, your troops are there yet. 2,000,000 troops is just under 0.35% of your population. If 0.8% of your population is in the army, navy and air force combined (including Logistics personnel) then you spend around 18,000 per soldier with some left over to pay for goodies. With that amount you can't equip your soldiers very well. Please make sure that your military budget can support what you say given the size of your army before you say it. I have nearly twice the population and spend nearly four times as much (as % of government budget) as you do on my military.

OOC: The BF-11 is sort of odd. It started life as an SR-71 Blackbird style plane. However, it's true capabilities were soon realized, and it was re converted, to be used as a fighter and bomber. Various starstreak missle ports have been affixed to it, while two swing out bombing ports are connected to the sides. Here are some stats:

Crew: 3
Length: 95ft 5in
Wingspan: 52ft 9in
Height: 16ft 6in
Powerplant: 2× Pratt & Whitney J58-1 continuous-bleed afterburning turbojets, 32,500 lbf (145 kN) each
Maximum speed: Mach 3.2
Supercruise speed: Mach 2.4
Combat Range: 3000 nm
Ferry Range: 3500 nm
Service ceiling: 85,000
Carrier: No
Stealth: Yes
In-flight refueling: Yes

OOC: VDB: my troops aren't quite that far, so yes, your troops are there yet. 2,000,000 troops is just under 0.35% of your population. If 0.8% of your population is in the army, navy and air force combined (including Logistics personnel) then you spend around 18,000 per soldier with some left over to pay for goodies. With that amount you can't equip your soldiers very well. Please make sure that your military budget can support what you say given the size of your army before you say it. I have nearly twice the population and spend nearly four times as much (as % of government budget) as you do on my military.

Johandyoko - North Cosat

The Uir troops moved up with the Mokastanan troops ahead. Destruction rained down around them and they were all confused. They just shot where they thought the enemies were. Many soldiers died and the satellite images Mr. Forgul was recieving didn't look pretty.

OOC: I have a bunch of puppet nations, I like to factor them in as well, even if I don't use them on the NS Forums. Moka, hopefully you don't mind me godmodding Sargent Ramirez, if you do, then I'll change this post.

IC:

The Vanek'ians were marching up the hill where Sargent Ramirez was. "Move men!" cried an officer. Then gunshots rang out. "We're underfire! A sniper!" cried the same officer, close to death. "Kill.....hiiiimmm....."

Private Ryan Carbon set up his sniper rifle he picked up from a fallen officer and found the sniper. He quickly let out a sharp burst of shots, and the Sargent fell down. This was happening all over the place, as the Vanek'ians moved in.... Troops were falling everywhere, but reinforcements were coming in.

Manpower:
For this war, I'm just doing 9 mil troops. 5% of my pop not including my puppets is 29.25 mil, that can easily cover logistics, air force, and navy. Without puppets. I don't really see why this is an issue. FMI, (For My Info), how many troops do you have?

The Vanekians were engaging the Uir and Mokastanan forces. The Faxanavians would have to act quickly.

Splitting down into their representative troops, nearly 25,000 men mobilized towards the major fighting. They were coming prepared, armed with artillery and, of course, hand held weapons.

The Faxanavians engaged swiftly. Firing from atop the surrounding wreckage, using to their advantage, they opened their first volley into the combined Uir and Mokastanan forces. various artillery systems kicked into play, hurling their shells into the fray. Faxanvian infantry moved forward, meeting the enemy head-on, and providing much needed support to the Vanekian troops.

"they are in the kill zone, FIRE FIRE FIRE" Sargent Ramirez yelled. He took out what appeared to be a commanding officer while hidden artillery guns pounded the earth...claymores and ATs exploded...if they retreated, there would be a wall of explosions behind them...left and right AT rockets and machine gun fire lit up...and to the front Recoilless rifles para dropped in launched a volley of death upon the enemy....
Uiri
16-09-2007, 00:59
The Uir forces fired their guns as quickly as possible, aiming rounds into the crowd of enemies, if any soldier ran out of bullets they'd pick up the guns of the dead guys near them and fired. All they knew was that the Faxanavians' arrival was not good and the fact that Alfegon troops hadn't shown up to support them was also bad.

The Mokastana forces had dealt some heavy hits to Faxanvian forces already with their EMP's. While Faxanvian forces switched from the more complex artillery to black powder, the Faxanvian forces deployed their own EMP's. 7 Air-Raid missles streaked into the sky, these having been mounted on flatbed trucks. They rippled across the battlefield, targetting Uir and Mokastanan naval forces.

The Faxanvian forces had now descended in full might. From the back of this mob of the battle, they had established a rudimentary point of command. From there, infantry was moving forward. They worked with the Vanekian forces, attempting to push back the Uirs and the Mokastanans.

F-11's followed the Vanekian planes, deploying their own Starstreaks into the Mokastani Mig's.

Below, MBTs rolled forward from the rudimentary base, intent upon taking down the Mokastani mobile armored force, what little of them there were.

The Vanek'ians set up their tanks and advanced towards the artillery. If the artillery was downed, that would pretty much be the war. B-2 Spirits also flew overhead occasionally dropping Maverick missiles on the artillery and blasting Sidewinders towards the Moka planes. A bunch of F-35A were coming up right behind them.

Faxanavia its Uirè, to make the è, hold alt and then, on the numberpad, press 138 before releasing alt.

IC: The Uir Forces shot at the opposing infantry, they were down to 8,000 now and dying fast. There were no escape routes, no back-up, nothing but their allies to support them. It didn't matter though, the Uirè just kept shooting. Some even sung to themselves a parody of the 'just keep swimming' song from Finding nemo; "Just keep shooting, shooting, just keep shooting,...".

IC: the artillery was well behind the lines to protect it...however the main concern was if the recoilless rifles would be efficient at taking out those tanks...if not they could always retreat over the AT mines...
Vanek Drury Brieres
16-09-2007, 01:29
Private Ryan Carbon was confounded. How have they lasted this long? He asked himself as he hid behind a tank and sniped a Uirè (woo! I thought accents didn't work on my computer!) following. He turned his scope towards the guns. Sniping a guy from here would be excelent, a record in the history of Vanek'ian war.

16-09-2007, 01:29
OOC: VDB, Uirè is plural, not singular. Singular is Uir.

IC: The artillery from the other side was impressive but Mokastana EMPs were just as impressive, several Uirè watched as after the actual pulse the origin of the pulse burned. Now those are cool thought a couple of young soldiers.

Ships immediately started to fire their SAMs at the incoming planes, and antiaircraft guns. SAM batteries on the ground also fired, and planes were sent off the TPS Vanek Gerard R. Ford-class aircraft carrier. F/A-22 Raptors.

Returning Flights 3+2A
Flight 2A, having come from New Roanoke Island, had a rendezous with KC-130 tankers, and did not have to come near the Hurtian Task force. Flight 3, on the other hand, had decided it best to land on their parent aircraft carrier as a 7th flight of planes went up to gaurd Flight 2A and Flight 4 inbound.

Being low on fuel, the land based F-4H2s returned to a cruising speed of 560 knots, and their radars went entirely passive, assisted by their much improved IRST system, plus updated Link 16 allowing the many radars to 'compare notes' allowing them to figure range, speed, and bearing on objects that would not even be detected by a single radar dish.

The second crewman, the Weapons Systems Officer, was mostly tasked with keeping track of all this raw data, and in the event of a dogfight with what most likely would beome a more manuverable advarsary, the helmet mounted tracking system and wide off boresight IIR SRAAMs (AIM-9X in this case) would allow him to act as a modern day "rear gunner". This 'novel' arrangement, had proven its wotrh when a group of F-4H2s counter-ambused double its own number of highly advanced F/A-103 Stanza advanced capability multirole fighters (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=12811810#post12811810).
----------
Deckard wasn't overly surprised that he managed to catch the eight F/A-103s and make an almost complete domination of them, the location of the fight was stacked entirely in their favor for the time being, what did surprise him was that the eight F/A-103s hadn't even managed to fire a single shot before they were 'destroyed'

The plane:

(Note specifications, technically the F-4H2 redlines at mach 2.6, but it can reach speeds of about mach 3 if you don't mind frying the engines)

And I suppose I should use Lt. Willie Deckard a bit more...

I'd also like to see rping of contact before you start shooting.

OOC: Well I'm confused thats for sure.

The wing of bombers had launched their payloads and were returning to base. Satellite images showed some damage. An large scale area had been cleared of defenses or so it was thought. There was still a possibility of any hidden defenses and any troops that were in the area. Aboard ships in the task force, naval officers prepared a battle plan. It was to hard to keep track of who was friendly and who wasn't, especially considering the amount of ships now operating in theater. The ships were about to cross from international waters into a disputed zone, it was time to make their presence known.

To: All ships operating in theater

Antiaircraft guns were loaded, and SAM batteries were prepped. And then they fired.

They can't hold on forever, thought Prvt. Carbon. "We'll get those guns...." and then a troop dropped next to him. He turned around, and there was a massive army. "Attack the gun platforms! Then, we'll extinguish those reinforcements!" he cried. It was echoed around the battlefield. Tanks turned towards the army, and snipers set up shop, attempting to just knock out the operators of the gun platforms. They can't hold on forever, maybe just an hour, thought the Private, as he set his sniper scope and fired towards a gun platform, but blasted his AK-47, thanks to dead soldiers, towards the incoming army.

Although the majority of the Orbathian fleet was hardened against EMP attacks, the fighters that were flying forward of the fleet didn't worry about that. Each fighter launched 4 AIM-54 Phoenix missiles. The missiles rocketed ahead at over MACH 3, heading straight for the EMP missiles.

The EMP missiles or attacks could easily become a problem. In order to ensure that the Fleet was protected, fleet defenses were doubled. Officers also considered striking Faxanavia.

Philiby looked at the latest dispatch from Uiri. "This has to be a joke! He really thinks I'd tell him what mines we're using, or fly into the waiting hands of my enemy?!?" No, there was no further point in talking with someone who was obviously intent on war. He gave dispatches to his generals to fully prepare the Orzian military for an upcoming invasion. He also composed a letter to Forgul.

OOC
Cutting the coil of an FCG type EMP device would render it inert.

IC:
Starting with the Air groups:
Flight 1
Still flying inland, and now crossing the Fax/Noc border
Speed reduced to 550 knots.

Flight 2A
Lt. Willie Deckard's Radar Warning Reciever blared at him, telling him -in a way- that some trageting/tracking Radar had just locked onto him. Had he kept his flight on active radar, they'd have most likely seen the enemy fleet by now.

Being somewhere near what he hoped was the maximum range of the enemy, he ordered his planes into a dive, hopefully below the radar horizon, followed by a drastic course change, which would hopefully throw off the enemy SAM.
(There is, however, one flight path the missile could take -providing it has the right guidance head- that would not be affected by this)

This had taken their already short supply of fuel and has cut it near the bone, any further dogfighting would resault in loss of the entire flight due to excesive fuel consumption alone. A rather humiliating way to go down in the record books...

Thus, to make sure the enemy would be too busy to continue their engagement, he radiod in the 'cavalry' of ten F-4H2s already taking off from the HTS Roanoke.

Flight 2B
The cargo planes, now unescorted, were on their return leg. The request for aid also informed this group to avoid their location, at least until the threat was nuetralized. Unlike Flight 2A, they had plenty of fuel to loiter about, and still make it back to base.

Flights 3 and 4
Flight 3, though low on fuel, was nowhere near the interception of Flight 2A. The lead pilot sighed in frustration as desprate pleas for help came and went over the radio, it sounded as if Flight 2A stumbled upon an entire enemy fleet.

Flight 4 was still near the front lines of Johnandyoko, and finished unloading all their bombs, they took their time and overflew the beluegered imperialist soldiers, tipping their wings or performing barrel rolls as they pased overhead at treetop altitude.

Task Force Marne: HTS Roanoke:
Flight 6: Planes taking off from HTS Roanoke to assist flight 2A 10 F-4H2
The Deck of the Roanoke was bustling with activity, as they loaded AShMs onto the last 5 planes in que to take off, with the first 5 providing only air cover, the others would try and damage the enemy ASW boats so that Hurtian submarines could strike later in the day relatively unopposed, thus removing this phantom fleet from the fight.

Wolfpack: "Huntley" covering the north flank of the fleet, was closer to the enemy sea contact, and thus was instructed, via a burst of High frequency sonar, to to make its way to the enemy fleet, find out sip positions and numbers, and direct over-the horizon ship launched AShMs and give a running BDA of each assault.

Beachhead

It was time for the invasion to begin. In the early morning light, hundreds of IFVs poured from the bowels of the Wasp Classes. Among them was a couple of LCU-2000s carrying tanks to the shore. Flying above them were hundreds of aircraft, like a swarm of bees. Highwind helicopters, C-78 Firebirds and numerous F/A - 16 Priests providing escort. The sea was slightly rough and a brisk, cool breeze blew. The soldiers weren't expecting much, if any resistance on the shore. There were thousands of them anyway and well supported, they would make quick work of any foe.The hundreds of IFVs and LCUs were in sight of the beach. Soldiers prepared one last time. Soon the would be thrown into the unknown.

The helicopters buzzed ahead. They would fly up the beach and troops would secure the area. If attacked, IFVs which would begin crawling up the beach, would be there in seconds.
There was an loud clank as the metal door of a LCU-2000 hit the beach. Out rolled a Wolfhound tank followed by another and another and two more after that. Alongside them, IFVs rolled up the beach, guns trained, awaiting an attack. The helicopters began setting down and troops rushed out, quickly securing the area. The C-78 Firebirds also let their troops out, but remained in the area to provide close air support. Within minutes, the helicopter troops had quickly secured a rough perimeter. The beach was almost under Orbathian control.

The Noctiana situation was bad as Faxanavia was gaining the upper hand. The only thing he could launch were bombs and they wouldn't do much either. He was withdrawing from the invasion.

The rest of the troops would fight fiercely however and if they could turn the tides he would have to send in re-inforcements.

OOC: We'll offer you a form of surrender agreement Uiri. Meanwhile, you and Moka have losses to take and RP, because my attack in SF is mainly toward you guys, and then HT.

OOC: OK, with Orzio gone I don't have much to do.

What if you Rped linking up with my invading troops, this would give you some support and could give us a better chance.

OOC: Uir allies are in this war are HT, Mokastana and Alfegos. Every other nation is an enemy according to Uir Troops. The Uir Governemnt feels that you are going to minimize the spoils of this war so you are rejected as being an ally.

There is no us with you involved.

IC: Uir troops continued tp die and shot back. They wouldn't have any ammo left soon and then they'd be easy targets. It wasn't like the rest of the military would be coming since the Brigadier-General turned tail and fled. If he was dead (and the Uir Governemtn would know if his heart stopped beating) or he had reached the naval forces then he would prevent anymore soldiers from coming.

The Mokastana troops were doing a little bit better with their artillery and tanks, if not worse. It didn't look good although the HOI troops seemed to be behind them.

"To the beaches" this was the last order....the paratroops were to cover the retreat, the old commander objected and now his corpse joined the men he lead to slaughter...

"he should of said he was in trouble"

"well he was the arrogant type wasn't he"

Mokastana had just had its own version of Custards last stand and damned if they weren't going to lose everyone....

"sir the beaches are just as chaotic as the battle hear"

"fuck, ok, retreat into the city...set up the traps and let them hit our AT mines..."

Mokastana was down to men and artillery and not to many men were left....perhaps this would be Custards last stand

The 'armored spearhead' of Hurtian Marines, plus the first waves of HOI reinforcements, had set up extensive fortifications to their planned staging areas and local firebases, with the now slightly revitalized town of Stawberry Fields turned into a billet, with the original field expanded via the HT-101s into a full fledged airport and firebase.

The Mokan retreat was artially expected, as was that of the Uir troops. Any force that decided, against better judgement, to continue harassing these forces, would have to answer to 30 Armored Divisions, and 20 Infantry Divisions plus all their attached artillery.

600,000 men
600,000 CM-38 (belt fed 'Automatic Rifle' 6.5x55 mm, occassionally fire magnum 'K' bullets)
300,000 HM-320 (Underbarrel weapon) - Description of concept (http://www.angelfire.com/art/enchanter/Grenade_Launchers.html#3BT) - User's Manual (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10796159&postcount=15)

4,500 HT-101F2 (Meduim Tank, 125 mm main gun, similar to 2S25 or 2S31 in capabilities)
1,500 HT-106C3 (Heavy tank (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10753855&postcount=9) 125 mm main gun, similar to the Black Eagle in capabilities)

1,500 HTA-108 (8" SP assault guns (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10767315&postcount=13)) -Could be the lighter HTD-108 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10774352&postcount=14)
3,000 CC-5 (125 mm towed gun-howitzers)
16,000 MC-5 (125 mm towed mortars)

100,000 MMP-1 (Tactical UCAVs)

14,500 HT-5 (trucks)
10,000 Truck/horse drawn 10 ton wagons
40,000 horses

Plus there was Task Force 5 - The 'Marne' sitting offshore ready to pound the enemy with missiles and 18" shells. And 500 Marine Raiders (some armed with CC-35C anti-material rifles [35x305 mm]) tasked with securing the staging areas.

Beachhead

The last of the IFVs rolled up onto the beach. Some soldiers were disappointed that they had not yet seen action. Soldiers began preparing small defenses such as sandbags, machine huts and the odd tank trap. They had taken up positions along the perimeter of the beach. Amongst them were the fierce M-49 Terrier IFVs and Wolfhound tanks. The remaining soldiers assisted in offloading cargo which was being transported by helicopter and Firebird to the beach. The engineers on the beach were split in half and tasked with constructing defenses such as tank traps, trenches, bunkers, walls, heavy machine gun nests and holes for tanks, artillery and even IFVs to hide and wait. The other group was tasked with constructing a makeshift port. The port was specially designed. It was basically many floating bridges, reinforced and tied together. The allowed tanks,, artillery, supplies and troops aboard the Bob Hope Class a way of getting ashore. As soon the troops aboard the Bob Hope Class were offloaded, Orbathian troops would begin advancing further into the nation.

Task Force Alpha

The situation room aboard the Overstrike was buzzing with activity. News had reached Orbath that the landing was completed successfully with nobody killed or injured. The Overstrike informed military commanders back home of the progress being made at the beach. The Overstrike then received orders.

Operation Sunset's Rise

Task: Advance further into enemy territory. Capture all of ''cool zone.''

With this, officers aboard the Overstrike set to it. Although it could be a day or more before the troops moved, the area would need to be cleared.

Overstrike Flight Deck

6 F/A-16 Priests were fueled and loaded out with weapons. They had been ordered to fly a mission over the ''cool zone'' and destroy any remaining targets there. 6 C-78 Firebirds were also fueled and loaded. They were tasked with destroying radar and communications for a 25 mile radius outside the cool zone. Another 12 F/A-16 Priests were loaded out and fueled, this was for a different mission however, a rescue mission.

Task Force Alpha

Missile tubes on two ships opened up to allow hundreds of missiles to pour out. The real bombardment was yet to come. The missiles launched were BGM-109 Tomahawks, which had been programed to hit military installations, SAM and RADAR sites, communications towers, select airfields and military naval ports all over the country.

OOC:
*Considers the possablity of shelling said beachhead*

How it would be done: (Speculation)
-Start with the piers, wreck those and you make things very difficult for the guys on the ground.
-Destroy enemy fleet*, failing that, lay mines and hold them at arm's length from the coast
-Then attack the beachmasters and combat engineering vehicles, these would be the guys scurring about trying to salvage the wrecked piers.
-Followed by a 3 pronged attack by land, air, and sea.
-Lay siege, starve them
-Resume slaughter before enemy reinforcements arrive
-Re-Secure the beachhead

*Rather easy, considering he just fired off most of his missiles/planes and most of his guns aren't worth bragging about. Kinda odd, If I fire first, I'm open to attack by VDB, if Orbath attacs either the anti-imps or the Imps, he'll be open to attack from both, and if VDB fires before I do, you can pretty much bet that I'll fire a rather large salvo of AShMs at him...
