TMZ Automotive Expo OOC & SIgn Up

The Militarized Zone
06-09-2007, 06:37
There is a bare stage, with a giant flag as the backdrop. A lone figure strides into the center of the stage, he wears a military uniform that has nary a wrinkle or crease. His thick-soled boots shine in a mirrored polish; his hair is cropped short and smart. He salutes crisply and falls in to a perfect parade rest formation.

"All right you’se apes, we have a car show to set up. You each have your individual assignments but were going to take a few minutes to familiarize you’selves with the as they call it ‘venue’” the Sergeant in charge looked at the assembled troops with an evil gleam in his eye, his thick Brooklyn accent clearly evident. TMZ recruited from everywhere, the best available and the Sergeant was, like all of their recruits, one of the best, a professional military man.. He loved giving out facts and figures, then asking that they be spouted back at the most inopportune of times.

Five thousand attentive faces looked back at him as he began the overview. Behind him the giant TMZ flag faded away to be replaced as silently the accompanying film began to be projected on multiple giant flat panel displays. behind him. The throat mike picked his voice up and it carried clearly through out the giant briefing room, but then again Sergeant Villanova's voice could probably been heard without digital amplification.

“You all know we’ve been building The Militarized Zone International Airport for three years now and in just under two months time it opens for the first flight. How so ever before that, every car maker that can get a model here, every race team that roll, every tuning house that thinks they cars they tune are the fastest, every off-roader that just knows they can carry the humps, every little parts distributor with more than three stores under their logo is going to be hauling rear axels in here and setting up shop. But for them to do that we have to set up first!”

"Points of Interest" He held up a thick finger. "“TMZIA” He pronounced it ‘Tim Zia” has the world's tallest control tower, at 635 feet tall, and the world's largest single building"

Terminal and Concourse Facts:

The airport terminal and concourse, which encompasses ten levels and covers 2,450,000 square feet. This is the main display area, but not the only one. The installation of the official décor of the terminal has been delayed so as to have wide open spaces to display the various vehicles, though there will be plenty of plush seating for foot weary expo goers. However the engineers have thoughtfully slowed the moving slide walks for ease of display viewing and that should mitigate some of that problem. Plus everything has been designed to handle the handicapped a well.

There is, as I am sure you have all heard, a StarMarqe mega theater within the concourse. It has fifteen theaters with seating for up to three hundred in each theater, with roomy doublewide stadium seating. Every car movie ever made will be showing, including every Bond movie, as every Bond car will be on special exhibit. We also have the honor of having the United States National Museum, the Smithsonian loaning us the vehicles in their exhibit "Car's a Century of Progress"

And refreshments? Look no further than the three full-scale restraunts on each of the ten levels. Thirty of the finest restraunts from around the world have agreed to temporarily open their doors here just for this exposition. For lighter more impromptu fare, there will be countless food and beverage kiosks on each level as well. Alcohol will be sold, but hard liquor and wine only in the lounge areas that twenty of the restraunts will be operating. In the concourse and in the hangers and demo areas it will be beer and hard cider only

Exterior facts:

The airport operations covers over 20,000 acres of island, more than twenty five square miles. The island which is just over thirty seven square miles lies less than a mile off the ‘Big Island’ and is connected by a pair of five lane double decker bridges, as well as high speed monorail.

There are 4 parallel runways. At 100 meters wide each, the shortest one is 6,000 meters, one is 5400 meters, and the other two are 4700 meters long respectively. There are 8 parallel taxiways. The runways and taxiways will be used for the various racing and performance events. There will be seating for spectators both inside the terminal and outside in the stadium to watch the Formula One racing, the NASCAR Racing, the Drag, Top Fuel, and Funny Car Racing, Destruction Derby, and the Drifting Events.

Secondary Expo spaces.

The five airlines that will be maintaining ‘home port’ status at TMZIA have graciously offered their newly constructed hangars for the use of the invited racing teams and any tuners or other groups that wish to put on demonstrations. There are 30 hangers capable of housing multiple wide bodies. The smallest ones have bay areas of 985 ft long, 295 ft wide with ceilings of 115 ft high. The largest ones are double those dimensions. These all have shop facilities, and luxurious office space integral to their designs, as well as our very special top-notch security. The racing teams will be showcased there, as will the funny cars, drifters, and off road vehicles. Electric trams will run from multiple departure points in the main terminal to the hanger zone, and there will be food and drink kiosks in that area as well.

Medical-Fire-Emergency:

We have already set up 60 Aid stations and 30 medical bays in the main terminal and a medical bay in each of the hangers. There will be one at each of the racing and demo spaces. All will be fully staffed at all times, even after the expo closes each night. Also HQ’s Main Hospital will have thirty ambulances and crews by on site, as well as two air ambulances on call. We will have three full companies of fire fighters on site again twenty four seven and a dedicated SAR crew just to be safe.

Hotels:

Between the closest airport hotel, and the terminal building are the four 5-storey car park buildings with a combined capacity of 20,000 cars, and we will need every parking space. The major players have already reserved 98 % of the hotel rooms on the island, and the ten hotels closest to the island are reporting reservations filling some ninety percent of their rooms. The names are a roster of every manufacturer out there, from Acura to Volvo and all in-between!

There are six luxurious hotels on the island - three are hotels with casinos- and all are attached to the TMZIA terminal via both subway and overhead monorail as well as surface streets. Each of the six hotels has nearly a square mile of gardens and green space, set with swimming lagoons, tennis courts, spa’s, hiking, biking and riding rails and more. There is also an eighteen-hole golf course, a complete athletics center, and day care center. Two of them have private beachfronts with pink powder sand beaches stretching for nearly a half mile on either side with plenty of water sports equipment. They all offer access to the nearly five thousand acre nature preserve and biosphere.

Those on the ‘big island’ have closer proximity to our just opened last year world-renowned theme park, War World. I don’t have to tell you about War World, but expect there to be extreme interest in the many specials it will be offering for that month as well.

The TMZ Automotive Excellence Exposition. The first of it's kind at Nations States. If you have a racing team, or are a vehicle manufacturer, a tuning shop, a design center, you are welcome to enter the Expo.

if you are just interested in hot vehicles you are welcome to come and peruse the offerings. The best of the best will be on display and in action!

'The UD or UF1RTUDATM as was the official name (Uir Ducks and Uir Formula 1 Racing Team Using Ducks As Thier Mascot) were quite pleased to get an invitation to the TMZIA. It was the first time they had been invited to anything. Of course, they also had to notify the UMMC or Uir Mobile Merchants Club to bring them along as they too would profit from the Expo.'

Please note that there will be no Mascot brought, only pictures of ducks on a few of the cars and on the UD's race/engineering suits. We shall need accomadation for 34. 25 merchants, 3 drivers, 1 coach and 5 engineers. We shall bring 3 F1 models and 10 of the latest models from Uir manufacturers.

Pan-Arab Barronia will be happy to showcase some of her emergency service vehicles, and the BAW Racing Team will be attending, along with various vehicles from BAW's fleet, including the pioneering Acel H-X54 Hydride Bus.

If possible, one hanger would be preferred, as our stall will require a lot of equipment, upwards of 20 engineers, 50 drivers, 25 merchants, 5 coaches, 1 helicopter, and several mobile homes.

Unto the Minister of Transportation of Pan- Arab Barronia,

We are delighted to recieve your request and can honor it in one of sevral ways. We have over thirty freshly completed, and ready to go, airplane hangers. The largest one has a bay area of over one million square feet and a ceiling hight of over three hundred feet with two full machine shops, as well as a seven story office / living space attached.

There are 15 two bedroom studio apartments that can hold up to 30- with two sharing each each bedroom, or they can be done as singles. The top floor of the office building is done as 2, private and plush, three bedroom penthouses with access to a roof top garden and jaccuzzi spa with wet bar and sauna. Additionally there is a full commercial catering quality kitchen, and we will be glad to provide you with one of our superbly trained chefs and an proper staff to attend to your dining needs.

We have also reserved hotel accomodations the rest of your personell. You have merely to let me know if on the studio apartments you prefer two or four per studio. And if on the penthouses do you wish one per bedroom or two?

I can personally testify that the ceiling height is perfectly adequate for helicopter operations, and that the sliding roof retracts to easily accomodate all but the largest of helicopters.

And there will be no dufficulty in positioning the mobile homes, given that aircraft maintence facilities have electrical grids designed to handle very high draw machinery.

Sincerely

The Tanaaran Automotive Association, a consortium of Tanaaran based manufacturers would like to display some of our current models and some concept cars. Perhaps a dozen in all. We have planed for some forty associates to be on hand to display the vehicles and answer the visitors questions.

Also I am given to understand that Valhalla Motor Sports, Tanaara's premier design, customization, and tuning house also desire to display and race some of their fine vehicles. Viktor Helwulf, Director, stated that they would have a total of four vehicles, with a total of twenty people.

I am also given to understand that HM Queen Mercedez, and HRH Crown Prince Elect Robert Ryan Fortier - Hexx will be loaning thier collection of historic cars for dispaly and entering the Concours d'Elegance. I believe the Throne will be contacting you seperatly regarding this.

Frederick Davidson, CEO of BazaBurger Intl, the corporation responsible for the BazaBurger fast food chain that had just started to expand internationally looked down at the guilded invitation that he received.

A few phone calls later and things were ready to roll, his secretary started to type up a letter.

Dear Cpt. Abigail Hardcastle
Headquarters City, TMZ

In response to your invitation, on behalf of BazaBurger Intl I would like to accept. We require one slot with decent access to power. Our technicians will be in contact with you shortly to deal with details to our power requirements including voltage etc. We will require accomodation for 20 people during the convention, including myself. I am a bit of a car enthusiast myself. I have also got in contact with Verona Inc. Bazalonia's major car producer and they are interested, so I do believe you can expect a letter from them in the not too distant future.

Thank you.

Frederick Davidson, CEO of BazaBurger Intl

Very soon later another letter, this time from Verona Inc. was sent.

Cpt. Abigail Hardcastle
Headquarters City, TMZ

Dear Captain,

It has come to our attention that you are organising what could be called a car convention at TMZIA. We have a few cars that we would like to show off to the public and are certainly interested in participating in this event. Below is a list and brief discription of the cars we plan to show at the convention.

Verona Prospero Supreme - The Prospero is our luxery model with the Supreme featuring the latest in technology, from the quiet fuel efficient 2.1L V6 engine to onboard GPS, entertainment systems and powered mirrors, steering. The interior and sound system is of the highest standard with mobile phone technology integrated into the car to support basically any mobile phone in use.

Verona Lear - A Stretch Limosine with a difference designed to be bullet and explosion proof the Lear is the pinnacle of armoured limosines with a hardened outer shell, and disperses energy from under car explosions to out the sides. The Lear is in use by the Government as a diplomatic limosine.

There will also be another concept car that we will be taking but well be revealing that one at the convention.

We would also like to tentatively sign up a crew for the racing however we cannot confirm that we can send the team as yet, confirmation will be sent as soon as possible. Thank you.

Yours Sincerly, <signature indecipherable>

There will be six people coming in representation of Psychosis Motorsports, but they will handle hotel arangements through a private travel agent. Further, a request has been made that a local shop, not a hanger, with access to a standard two wheel dyno and all wheel dyno be made available at certain times. They wish to have the primary booth in the show room, and ease of access to move thier vehicles in and out of the show room at will. There will be a small support crew to set up the booth itself, and they two will handle travel concerns privately. As all the vehicles are driven daily and on a regular basis, there is no need for any special hangers or garages.

-Bat Shit Crazy Tuning-
Bat Shit Crazy will be in attendance with three vehicles. A Ford GT, Lamborghini Murcialago, and a Kawasaki ZX-14, all heavily modified. There will be 5 persons representing Bat Shit Crazy, and are all willing to take any housing arangements you deem appropriate.

-New Owl Customs-
New Owl Customs will be in attendance with two cars. Travel arangements for the four representatives will be handled privately, but the request has been made for one of the smaller hangers to be made available.

-Northampton Import Automotive Specialists-
NIAS will be requesting one of the larger hangers in order to store around fifteen cars that it will be bringing. There is also the need for lodging to be made available for forty to fifty personel, and access to a full set of standard shop equipment. They will need access to at least three dynos, including one All Wheel Dyno. Further, they would like the largest booth scheme available, and will be accompanied by thirty five suport personel. Further, they will need ease of access to get in and out of the show area to get their vehicles to and from the street.

All Imitoran houses in attendance had this to say...

"Hope ya'll are ready to loose some cash."

More pertenint info coming soon.

Dear Mr.Davidson,
CEO
BazaBurger Intl

I will be glad to reserve our largest food kiosk, placed on the second level where the greater majority of the expo attendees must pass both on arrival and departure, for your company. The kiosk has thirty serving lines, with both a walk in freezer and refridgerator in the 'core' of the kiosk. It has, I am told, the kitchen facilities equal to those found in the largest professional catering kitchens. Your technicians can email our Master Sergeant Kittiboro for more details. The Master Sergeant is in charge of handing all cooking, catering and dining venues for the Exposition.

Sincerely,
Cpt. Abigail Hardcastle

I will pencil in space in one of the hangers for your racing teams.

Dear Sir,

VLT is honoured to exhibit it's full model range at your exposition. All models currently produced by the brand and it's subisidiaries will be present, including the Monteluci F1 Racing Team, VLT and Monteluci Touring Car teams, VLT Le Mans 24h, etcetera etcetera. They will be giving demonstrations and shows one at a time, giving the spectator the possibility to see all demo's.

Other interesting vehicles:

The VLT L8, with a price of $1.5 million USD and a production limited to 1 car per person and 5 vehicles per nation per year, will also be shown on the expo.

A 1911 Monteluci Pangea, one of the first Monteluci cars. Although 1911 was the fourth year of production for the Pangea, this is generally found to be the best Pangea of all. Partof the Van Luxemburgian Classic Preservation Fund, Property of the Grand Duke's Automobile Collection inventory. Current Price Estimate: $1.2 million USD. Vehicles Made: 27

a 1934 Monteluci Tipo 188, one of the most successful Van Luxemburgian racing cars ever to be made. Property of the Monteluci Family inventory. Current Price Estimate: $22 million USD. Vehicles Made: 3

A 1947 VLT L3, the very first car made by VLT. While founded in 1946, VLT did manage to start full scale production by 1948: All vehicles before 1948 are extremely rare, and at least half of them have been digested by rust or ended up onto scrapheads for other reasons. Of the first L3, which has been produced from 1948-1962. Property of the Grand Duke's Automobile Collection inventory. Current Price Estimate: $180,000. Vehicles Made: (1947) 500, (1948-1962) 20,000,000

A 1975 VLT L7 Staatslimousine, VLT's most luxurious top model in the 70's, used only by the Premier of Van Luxemburg. This vehicle has been lovingly restored by the exports of the Grand Ducal workshops, where highly skilled mechanics only work with the best parts, preferably original or high-quality remakes. This particular vehicles has costed more than $100,000 USD to restore, since L7 parts are extremely rare, and had to be custom-made. Property of the Grand Duke's Automobile Collection inventory. Current Price estimate: $300,000. Vehicles Made: 5

This is only a small example of what we will take to the exhibition: VLT will require a large amount of storage and exhibition space. Due to the delicate nature of the classic vehicles, we prefer to exhibit these vehicles in a heated and dry place, with at least a little bit of protection from sunlight.

I believe our department can arrange hotel rooms for everyone, so that won't be a problem.

To: CEO of Psychosis,
I have secured the shop acces that you requested, TMZ Experimental Motors will be contacting you independantly. Also a ground floor exhibit space has been been reserved. However on the travel arrangements, I must warn you that going through a private travel agent might result in you discovering that there are no rooms left on the island, as in the name of the exhibitors we reserved some seventy percent of the available rooms during the first planinng stages. The rooms, suites actually were going to be offered to the various exhibitors as part of their packages. The hotelsl are very luxurious with all of the amenitites such highly rated establishments are exdpected to offer.

To: CEO Bat Shit Crazy Tuning

Would you like exhibit space in the concourse, or in one of the hangers? I can also slot you into three two bedroom suites at the WindSong Hotel, or if you wish space in one of the hangers I can reserve the two top floor penthouses - three bedroom each for you. Please advise.

_______________________

Dear Mr. Gibson
I have you slated for hanger number five, and would you like to avail yourself of the five two- bederoom apartments attached? That hangers office/ interior decor is 'gentlemans club modern', as I understand it, with lots of leather, dark woods and some exclusive art works. I can also reserve penthouse for you at the Windward or the Tres D'Or

______________________________

TO: CEO Northampton Import Automotive Specialists,

I have reserved for you exhibit space both in the concourse, chosing a spot that as you requested has both the largest square footage available plus ease of ingress and exit, and one of our medium size hangers with over half a million square feet in the bay. I have also spoken with a local tuning shop. TMZ Experimental Motors will be contacting you seperately.-

The hanger has accomodations, in 20 two bedroom apartments, for up to eighty if you have no objection to having two double beds in each bedroom. though if you wish queen size beds in each that will lower the occupancy rate to forty - I have plenty of hotel suites remaining but please advise a.s.a.p. please.

I am most pleased to hear that you will be bringing your full model range to the Exposition! And the inclusion of your highly regarded racing team is a wonderful bonus that I am sure our expo goes will be delighted to see race and demo your vehicles.

I have reserved a very large space on the second level of the concourse as your exhibit area, where there will be sunlight through the northern windows of the concorse, which - as I have been assured by the artists and designers of the building - is the gentle full light prefered by all artist and photographers. What color would you like your carpenting to be? And what height your display platforms for you vehicles? Do you have any special lighting requests?

I have reserved one of our largest sized hagers solely for you and your racing teams. The hanger has has a bay area of over one million square feet and a ceiling hight of over three hundred feet with two full machine shops, as well as a seven story office / living space attached.

There is a off road demonstration area with hills of up to nearly 60 degree grade and a 'swamp' of over six hundred feet long by one hundred wide with depths varying up to five feet of water crossing.

Many thanks for your invitation, Captain Hardcastle. After some discussion with my business partner, former sponsors, and the Ministry of Hospitality, I have chosen to accept your invitation.

Accompanying me will be Della Carro, my business partner. Also attending will be Sondra Derron, the star employee of one of my former sponsors during my racing career. The final member of our party from HotRodia is the venerable Accelerus Dioce, the representative from the Ministry of Hospitality selected by Meritania Garrote herself.

We will have in tow four vehicles for presentation and display. I will be bringing my Chromera RV. Della will be showing her classic THR Matador. Sondra will have her refurbished HMC Revigator, and Accelerus will of course be driving his HRMC Moderator GT-S.

I thank you for your kindness, and await your reply.

Hello, I received a note from the Globo/Velog F1 racing team, which received a letter from you talking about your expo. After sending your message to some known automobiles admirers of our country, we received some positive answers, and this is the current list of businessman interested in visiting the expo:

- Samuel Makas, businessman of the Sports area
- Tarcísio Velog, businessman of the Automobiles area
- Juliano Arsênico Alves, businessman of the Pharmacy area
- Gabriela Andrade Nunes, businessman of the Steel area
- Ariella Machado, famous actress
- Estive Formoso, representing Globo/Velog F1 racing team
- Paul Badder, Counselor-Minister of Education, representing the government

Velog is also interested in sending cars for the expo (probably 3).

The same happens with Zap Carros, another big car manufacturer, which will probably send 2 cars.

Thanks for inviting us

I'm sure we can arrange something, we're just worried about space for the cars. Besides, its probably better we don't stay anywhere that has anything expensive at easy access. The boys and I have been known to tear things up in a good party, so I'm not sure what hotel would really accept us anyways. Unless they don't mind keggers and throwing TVs out windows. We tend to be a bit Motley Crue like that. I'm sure we'll be seeing you at the show,

We'll need a concourse spot. And the hotel sounds wonderful. Looking forward to it,

We will need hotel rooms, prefrably individual rooms for the shop employees. The apartments will be fine for the support personel, as they will need quick access to the concourse in order to set up for show. Eh, it was no big deal. Just something to do for me!
Tanaara
08-09-2007, 06:34
Yeah, right and here's something I just happened to do...

Liberty, Military setting
And the city don't know that the city is getting
The creme de la creme of the auto world in a
Show with everything and James Bond in it!

Time flies -- doesn't seem a minute
Since the Tokyo Salon had the auto boys in it
All change -- don't you know that when you
Race at this level there's no ordinary venue

It's Frankfort. -- or Paris – or L.A. -- or --
or this place!

[COMPANY]
Hand it over to Psychosis and your car’s perfection
The boys got your template but the parts ain't free
You’ll win the race to every intersection
Since you’re lucky then your car’ll be
I can hear the Cayman rolling up to me

[THE IMITORAN]
One town's very like another
When your head's down over your engine, brother

[COMPANY]
It's a stroke, it's the bore, it's really not a pity
To be looking at the timing, not looking at the city

[THE IMITORAN]
Whaddya mean? Ya seen one crowded, polluted, stinking town --

[COMPANY]
Beer, Guns, Cold ‘n and Hot,
Come see all that Psychosis has got

[THE IMITORAN]
Lay rubber! You're talking to a tourist
Whose every move's among the purest
I get my kicks behind the wheel, for real

[COMPANY]
One night against Psychosis makes a hard man humble
Not much between despair and ecstasy
One night racing Psychosis and the tough guys tumble
Can't be too careful with your company
I can feel the Cobra rolling next to me

[THE IMITORAN]
Exposition's gonna be the witness
To the ultimate test of automotive fitness
This grips me more than would a
overcrowded casino or amusement park-a

And thank God I'm only watching the race -- controlling it --

I don't see you guys rating
The kind of racing I'm contemplating
I'll let you watch, I would invite you.
But cars we use would way too excite you.

So you better go back to your bars, your wars, your massage
parlours --

[COMPANY]
Hand it over to Psychosis and your car’s perfection
The boys got your template but the parts ain't free
You’ll win the race to every intersection
Since you’re lucky then your car’ll be
I can see the Evo rolling next to me

One night against Psychosis makes a hard man humble
Not much between despair and ecstasy
One night racing Psychosis and the tough guys tumble
Can't be too careful with your company
I can feel the Dominator rolling next to me

Dear lord...

We have a jingle. This could get very bad. Or very good. Or the Psychosis cars could sweep in, whup up on eveyrone, take the cash, and leave.

The Candrian Empire contacted me by TG and aswked that I note that they will be bringing several automobiles for the Exposition. I must say that I am very plese with such a wide response and I will reserve the appropriate space for them, and their fine automobiles.

This is an important request from the GM

Please, if at all possible, when posting in the IC thread, please don't put sigs. Just remember to uncheck the box in the Misc. Options before you submit a post.

Many thanks

Noted. Any particular reason for this request?

It just gets to sometimes I can't tell where the actual post stops and the sig begins.

Also sigs can be aweful distracting if the post is shorter than the sig.

Now that I have time to relax and post, I am responding to the invitation TG. However, I am quite tired so it will be purely OOC at the moment.

Executive Motors will be the only company to attend.
They will be showing off two cars and a soon-to-be-released "concept."
Thus they will need only a little bit of room.
Total personnel will be 5 including CEO Stone Vitleza.

lol, it's more of exhaustion from school and soccer rather than lack of sleep. Just a little burned out and in need of some resting and relaxation... which I am getting now.

Dear Mr. Vitleza.
CEO Executive Motors

We are most please to see that you are able to attend! We have secured an exhibit space on the second floor, near the exhibits from HotRodia and Van Luxemburg. Also you have suites reserved at the Hotel Tres D'Or.
