OOC: This is the redo of the previous thread with the actual circumstances of the Al Khalifa and their forces. So, here goes. Kansiov, if you wanna be the Al Khalifa again you may, but if anyone else wants to just post a note in here.
IC: A small boat docked up on its moorings in the harbor on Bahrain, its occupants stepping off and moving up the street to the residence of the Al Khalifas, the ruling family of Bahrain and Qatar. The ten men arrived soon after and knocked on the door of the residence. When a servant opened the door, a letter addressed to the Leader of the Family was handed over and the men left, heading back to the boat. The note read as follows:
To Whom it May Concern,
The Northern Imperial Republik has long viewed your lands as severely undercontrolled and a breeding ground for pirates across the Arabian Sea who have been known to set up camps on the desert shores of Qatar and harass Imperial Shipping. We have also believe your potential is extremely underexplored, coming to the main point of this letter. The Northern Imperial Republik would like to subjugate the lands of the Al Khalifa into an Imperial Subject of the Empire. Our terms such:
1. All lands controlled by the Al Khalifa shall become incorporated into the Imperial Subject of Greater Oman.
2. Any military/paramilitary forces under the control of the Al Khalifa shall be sent to retraining camps in Dubai and become incorporated into the KV.
3. Naval Vessels shall be incorporated into the Arabian Fleet.
4. The Al Khalifa shall remain in municipal control of Manama.
5. The Al Khalifa Family shall recieve a 20% Cut of all profits reaped by our exploits in resources.
We are hoping you accept our offer, for The Chancellor will not be pleased if I must report otherwise to him.
-Signed,
Viceroy Sagen

[Okay, go ahead.]
Bahrain
Isa ibn Ali Al Khalifa, the head of the Khalifa clan, ruling family and power in Qatar and Bahrain, sat still, reading over the offer time and again. He did not like the sound of being subjugated into some greater European Empire, it was a fear he, and his family had had for far too long. White Imperialists... damnedable scum! Infadels! Bastards! Oppressors! All these words came to mind as he thought over the offer. Then came new words. Conquerors. Wealth. Power. Qatar and Bahrain could muster what? Two thousand men at the most? Against the fleets and armies of Europeans? It was pointless. All he could do now was negotiate. Negotiating was the way the Khalifas had survived for so many years... and it was how they would survive now.
Dear Sir,
While we are open to negotiations, the terms you have offered, at this time, are simply not acceptable. They demand too much of the Khalifa's and offer too little in return. I have taken the liberty of editing the terms you have offered, and if they please your Chancellor, we may come to terms without armed conflict. Of course if they are not accepted, we hope that negotiations may continue, for the benefit of both our peoples.
1. All lands controlled by the Al Khalifa shall become incorporated into the Imperial Subject of Greater Oman, with the Al Khalifa Family remaining as the official ruling family of Qatar and Bahrain, controlling various local laws and practices. Ultimately subject to the authority of Greater Oman.
2. All military and paramilitary forces under the control of the Al Khalifa's shall be retrained in Qatar by Officers of the Imperial Republik. They shall then be placed under the control of Imperial Commanders. They shall be permitted to stay in the lands of Qatar and Bahrain as security forces, unless there is dire need for them in other parts of the Imperial Republic.
3. Naval Vessels shall be incorporated into the Arabian Fleet, provided their primary use shall be in protecting Qatarian waters, unless needed elsewhere desperately. Their crews shall remain unchanged, with the exception of officer additions.
4. The Al Khalifa shall remain in municipal control of Manama.
5. The Al Khalifa Family shall recieve a 25% Cut of all profits reaped by our exploits in resources.
6. The Imperial Republik shall grant a gift of 25,000 gold pieces to the Al Khalifa family.
~Signed,
Isa ibn Ali Al Khalifa
The letter was handed to a servant and rushed to the men at the docks.

The letter was handed to a servant and rushed to the men at the docks.
The men read it over and waved off the servant.
"We will be back with the Viceroy's reply tomorrow," said the leader of the group. And with that, they set off.
The next day...
The boat returned and the men disembarked, moving back up the street to the residence of the Al Khalifa. Knocking again, they handed the doorman another note and waited. The note read as follows:
Dear Sir,
Your terms are hereby accepted. All gold pieces and other various payments will be rounded up and shipped over to this port within the month. We promise that all terms shall be upheld on our end, and we sincerely hope it will be the same on yours. Welcome to the Republik.
-Signed,
Viceroy Sagen
