Imperial Brits

"Ours was a proud people, and always the strongest. For thousands of years our empire expanded. For so long, we could imagine ourselves alone in the universe. For so long, never did we encounter advanced life. And we traveled faster and farther, spreading in our galaxy. And before long we could see the day when our reachable systems would have been exploited, and then there would be nowhere else to go. And we discovered subspace. It gave us our galaxy and it gave us the universe. And we saw other advanced life. And we subdued it or we crushed it. In months, the elimination of billions of years of evolution, on a similar but slower path. With subspace, our empire would surely know no boundaries."
"When the Destroyers came for us, we attacked. Never had we been defeated. They were like the others: strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die. We made our first retreat. We could forego one system. We left it to the Destroyers and went elsewhere. But they followed. They hunted us. They followed us when we retreated, discovered where we lived. For a long time we did not know why they chased us. These were no ordinary enemy. They did not seek our territory, our technology, our resources. Now we know our crime was sin."
~ Legacy of the Ancients.
A brief crackle of lightning illuminated the purple gasses of the nebula, and from behind the only window in the ship a frail hand flickered along a keyboard, a hand of rebellion and a peacemaker, a hand now devoted to chronicling the fruition of a life’s work.

“The Destroyers had come so many years ago, to my world, to my home and systems. They just like the Romans of ancient earth had no true logic for their conquest. Nor did they envisage any.
The Destroyers were roused by our arrogance, our pride and lust for war. Our home world was the height of the greatest civilization the Galaxy had ever known, bound together by the flux of subspace.
But just like the tragedy of Icarus who fearlessly transcended the limits of a mortal man, and flew up against the sun, we like him, roused fate from her slumber. Our wings fell from our bodies, the fire of our destiny burned our people, our ships and our hope. And like the Ancients, who left us the warning, I now know that our crime, for which the sentence is death.
Is sin.”

…..Delphitus Senatiri…..KOBOL…..
The flux of subspace gave birth to the nightmare not seen in a generation. Lingering and rousing in anger the darkness moved forward with intent and judgment. Four soundless vessels covered the void. Four winged spiders scouring the system in search of the transgressors. Those that sinned against the Universe.
Black, sheik, covered in red and bathed in a crimson blood, the shining ships ignored the terrestrial worlds that knew nothing but bareness, bloodshed and sin. A red glow fled from the engines, while an almost sinister serenity covered their flight path, as they moved as one.
Trajectory Kobol, a world not known to the destroyers, a wasteland long forgotten by even their false Gods. The Destroyers however, never forget. They pursue, relentlessly and without mercy.
Their scouting party had arrived.
