The man in dark red robes walked the streets of the polich city calmly, his face hidden behind a helm like that of an ancient knight's. He set up a small table, placed some grey books on the table, and cleared his throat.
"BROTHERS AND SISTERS! HEAR ME NOW!"
The passing crowd around him turned their heads and stared. Some continued walking...most stopped to listen.
"Brothers and sisters, harken to me. I know your down on your luck. I know your looking for answers. You've looked to your government, to your god, and to yourself...but you've found nothing is strong enough to support you. But brothers and sisters, I know what can support you, I KNOW what is STRONG!"
The man paused.
"The Machine is strong. We must purge the weak, hated flesh and replace it with the blessed purity of metal. Only through permanence can we truly triumph, only through the Machine can we find victory. Punish the flesh! Iron in mind and body! Hail the Machine! Time for a hymnal!"
The crowd watched in awe as the madman preist pulled forth an old grey accordian and began to play a song they had never heard before.
"Toll the Great Bell Once!
Pull the Lever forward to engage the
Piston and Pump...
Toll the Great Bell Twice!
With Push of Button fire the Engine
and spark Turbine into life...
Toll the Great Bell Thrice!
Sing Praise to the
God of All Machines!"
The preist convinced many to sing along and learn the words, he convinced even more to buy one of the books. The streets show was not unique, not in the least. It was instead a carefully researched and planned out propagandic initiative. From Eblg to Warsaw the eastern ring of cities fell prey to the concentrated efforts of Mechanican Missionaries. The books detailed a simple view of the religion, and was littered with hateful and slanderous words about the Polish government and christianity.
The entire theocracy, from Fabricater General to lowliest Techpreist had been put into motion, each doing their part to spread their faith.
Techpreists were quietly moving into to the eastern cities, setting up secret churches and spreading the propaganda further. If caught they could flee back to the Mechanicus States and never have to worry about facing trial in Poland.
Thats IF they escaped.
Still, the campaign was in it's early efforts. Progress would come slow.
But progress WOULD come.

Shakal Hauptstadt, Berlin
The Emperor issued the order of Mobilization. Whether or not the Mechanicus States accepts his proposal the Shakal would campaign into Poland. Heersgruppe A was already reading on the border. The 405 thousand men would be more than enough to annihilate the pathetic force of the Poles.

As Mechanicus priest was making his show, old catholic priest made his way through crowd. He fastly realized what is happening. He rised his hands and said in catholic:

Then he pointed towards Mechanicus priest and shouted, now in in Polish so that everyone would understand:

Zamek Królewski (Royal Castle), Warsaw
Emperor Władysław Rozwadowski V was discussing with his military commanders about Shakalian mobilization:
Baron Poniatowski said “It is definitely aggressive move, they are deploying forces near our borders, I would say that invasion is coming soon.”
“We can not forget that those aggressive attempts of religious and anti-state propaganda by Mechanican, I believe that they also have aggressive intentions.” Said Count Kosciuszko.
“Indeed, we need to start mobilization immediately, I want our troops to prepare for defensive war at Shakal border. We will also keep eye on movements of those Mechanican pagans.” said Emperor.
Shakal Heersgruppe A, Headquarters Frankfurt Am Oder
Moltke surveyed the map. His divisions were ready to begin the assult as soon as Heersgruppe B was 40% mobilized. The attack was going to begin on June 12th at 6am. He informed the Emperor of the move. His orders would be carried out. Heersgruppe B would handlt the southern half of the front, Bohemia, while Heersgruppe A handled the Polish border. He now awaited the arrival of General Feld Marschalls Weldheimer and Manstein who would be gaining command of the 1st Armee and 2nd Armee respectivly. His plan was for a strong styled frontal assult using superior artillery power to overwhelm the poorer Polish forces. He had several hidden ideas which he would only express to these two men so there secrecy couldnt be compromised. For a man in his early fourties Moltke was still considered young to be at the helm of the military of the strongest continental power in all Europe and indeed, some say, the whole of Eurasia. He looked up as the tent flap opened.
"General Feld Marschalls Manstein and Weldheimer come in." He bekoned the two in. "As you both well know our mighty nation has decided that the Shakal populace in the north of Poland requires liberating from its foreign oppressors." He said with a smile. The two men also smiled. "As you can see ample preperations have been taken for this, all that remains to do now is for the political fools to formally declare a state of war." He paused to sit again. "What I am going to tell you two is highly secret information, no ears besides your own and those of the Emperor may hear this, I have taken precautions and as of now no person is within 300m of our tent." He added. He wasnt going to risk a Polish spy getting wind of this. "Do you understand?"
"Yes, General." They replied in unison. Moltke began to explain his plan to the pair. Afterwards they sat back in there chairs and thought.
"What is it you two think of this?" He asked them.
"I believe it will not work." Weldheimer said. "Unless Heersgruppe B can overwhelm the enemy in time for this to be managed. If not, then the plan will fall into utter ruin and a long war will await us."
"I disagree." Manstein chimed in. "I think instead we should strengthen the Polish frontier and advance full force from here, a descisive victory could be achieved in no more than two months." He said to Moltke.
"You both make good points. I shall compromise, how would it sound if the newly mobilizing units of Heersgruppe B were sent to this front instead of there own, and then we can push faster in the south to capture Breslau and then use Heersgruppe B to secure what we take." Moltke responded.
"That should work, give me 1 week to capture both Stettin and Kotozburg then the war will be as good as ours." Weldheimer said.
"Good, good, now, make the preperations and be ready to march." Moltke ordered. The men left and went to do there jobs.

Shakal-Polish Border
All along the border the artillery opened up on the enemy positions. After an hours attack the Infantry began to move out. The Shakal 1st Armee led by Weldheimer sent the I and III Corps around Stettin to the south while the II Corps moved directly against the city. In the center of the border, between Cnbina and Gubin was covered by the 2nd Armee under Manstein. The V Corps headed straight for Poznan as the IV and VI covered the flanks with the 10th Division 'Grosse Jaeger' covering the left and the 16th Divsion 'Loewe' covering the right. In the meantime the 3rd Armee headed in a general South Easterly direction towards Breslau. The men so concentrated with adequate supplies and equipment would be more than ample to handle the Polish border defences.

Shakal-Polish border
Polish forces on front had prepared for attack. As planned before, all bridges over Oder river had been prepared for blowing up as soon as Shakal troops had started gathering near border. Explosions were big, this was necessary to ensure that even if Shakalians cross the river then repairing bridges would take some time.
On north Armia Szczecin units retreated behind then river as planned, with only light resistance, majority of army was on the east bank already at beginning, as result its losses to Shakal artilley were minimal. On center front was Armia Poznań which took heaviest hit, as border run along the river, defences were also there. Still army managed to hold the line as many defences in that area had been built already years before. Aganist Shakal 3rd army at south was Armia Wrocław. Originally Oder river was planned to be defended at south also but due lack of fortifications and as X Corps had not yet reached to front from Austria-Hungary border, General Rzedzicki, commander of army, odered his troops to retreat behind Bóbr river where X Corps was already digging in according to his orders.
Zamek Królewski, Warsaw
“So, what is the situation at the front?” asked emperor.
“Shakal is invading, currently both of our armies have retreated behind Oder river in north and behind Bóbr river in south and have dug in there. We succeeded blowing up all bridges as planned. Armia Wrocław has rejoined with X Corps, which was previously at Austri-Hungary border, at Bóbr river so its now in full strenght. Currently heaviest pressure on us is at center of front.” Answered Baron Poniatowski, Commander-in Chief of Polish Army.
“Can we deploy some more forces to front fastly?”
“We need to keep some forces at Mechanicus border just in case, so it ties up some of our forces, but reinforcements from Western-Ukraine and Romania are already on their way, still it will take some time before they reach here. Also mobilization in Poland will bring in new troops, although forming them into another army will take some time.”
“Maybe we should start pre-emptive invasion against Mechanicus? We could try to knock them out before they even can become dangerous to us.” Suggested Count Kosciuszko.
“No, we need majority of our soldiers at Shakal front immediately, we do not have enough free troops to start massive attack against Mechanicus. Especially as its not even clear if Mechanicus will join the war or not. But we will keep eye on them, if they start mobilizing then it may require some kind of pre-emptive action.” Disagreed Emperor.
“Exactly, we can not add another enemy unless its absolutely necessary. Shakalian army is well armed and well organized, we must be prepared for possibility that our defenses at Oder will not hold.” Agreed Baron Poniatowski.

"HOLY WAR!!! HOLY WAR!!! HOLY WAR!!!" The Clockwork city of Vilnius was alive with hate and rage. A man of the cloth had been lynched! The public wanted blood. Chants of "Iron withen, iron without" ripped through the general hate speech that seemed to flow from the entire populace. The Fabricater General appered at the balcony of The Great Bell Tower. The crowd fell silent.
"My children, we have seen the very face of religious intolerance. We have seen the actions the barbarians to our east preform. We have been attacked! And for what? Bringing truth to a darkened tribe of idiots? The polish god may preech forgiveness, but the Omnissiah preaches victory!"
The crowd roared with delight.
"I have prayed long and hard as to what action the Cult Mechanicus must take. And the Omnissiah came before me in a dream, and taught me a new prayer that showed me the holy path we must tread. I share this prayer with you now."
The crowd bowed thier heads, put thier fists together, and closed thier eyes.
The Fabricator General chanted to his God.
"Oh great Machine God, we implore thee to cast your benevolent gaze upon our weapons, the Divine Right. Let your burning power seethe through its gears. Let your undying wards lay upon its crews and holy caretakers. Let your mighty anger spit forth destruction and vengeance through the great mysteries of bullet and shell and cannon. Invest our mighty armoured ships with your spirit and breathe life into its boilers and conduits."
The crowd looked up. Fabricator General Oslo Verkish smiled.
"Let it be Holy War!!!"

Magos Galvin Torpe was well aware of the predicament. The Unholy Poles had the Mechanicans beat in numbers, and a war with them would be fought over a large front. Would Shakal help subdue Romania? Ukraine? Torpe was unsure. What he did know was the Mechanican forces could fight better, had better weapons, and their economy could easily withstand a beating.
Volunteers were flooding in, bringing the military to a full 3% of the population. Two regiments were stationed in Africa, but the Fabricator General had made it clear they were not to be moved. That gave Torpe 215,810 soldiers to work with.
Mobolization was immidiate. 6 Gazelle class light crusiers, 3 Victoria Luise Second Class Protected Cruisers, and 2 Armoured Cruisers were enroute to Polish waters to destroy anything that floated. 1st "Божественная Ярость" Regiment, 2nd "Ненавистный Гнев" Regiment, 3rd "Руки Бога" Regiment and 3,000 calvarymen from the "Перевелосипедисты" regiment were being mobolised into Poland. The 2nd would strike Eblag in the morning, and was ordered to rain shells upon the city for 2 hours before advancing. The others moved toward the smaller eatsern cities. The 6th "Хулиганы" Regiment was being mobolized out of Brest and would move towards Warsaw in three days.
On the Ukraine border the only city around was Chernihiv, and it was quite distant. The 11th "Железные Руки" Regiment and 12th "Паровые Солдаты" Regiment were enroute to the border, and were told to prepare defensive positions. The 13th "Электрический Двигатель" Regiment however was already crossing in to foreign territory. They were under order not to capture, but to destroy Chernihiv. Though the artillery slowed the pace, the 13th was resolute in it's mission.
Volunteers were being trained and all citizens were told to continue bussiness as normal as possible, lest the economy take a dive.

Shakal Heersgruppe A, HQ
Moltke smakced himself, he had forgot something as rudimentary as the enemy blowing the bridges. Needless to say this event was quickly rectified, the Shakal forces immediatly began to rebuild the bridges covered by the artillery which would open up as soon as the enemy was spotted by the Recon patrols. The best part was that Heersgruppe B was mostly mobilized with 75% of its manpower ready to head out.
"General Feld Marschall Moltke, HGB is ready to begin the secondary push with the 4th and 5th Armies." An aide said to him. He nodded in aknowledgement.
"Make sure that Weldheimer pushes hard and heads towards Elbag." He said. "Also, make sure Manstein is following cosly on the flank, we dont want any misfourtunes." The aide nodded and left.
The Shakal II Corps was to cross the river by nightfall. The immediatly after the I Corps would follow and push the enemies left flank as the I kept the bridgehead open to allow the III Corps to cross afterwards.
In the 2nd Armee Mansteins men had managed to build a small bridge across and were flooding over the 15th Divison had crossed and was being followed by the rest of the V Corps. The bridge was being made larger to allow faster crossing. The rest of the Armee would come as soon as possible, Shakal units were flowing over into the land left abandoned by the enemy because of the Shakal artillery.
The 3rd Armee in the south had the best sucess. The enemy had retreated and left a large area for the Armee to push into. The van was led by the IX Corps and all of the men were moving fast. The IX Corps began to head towards Legnica. It was followed by the VIII Corps. The VIII also covered the Oder flank as it moved leaving the VII Corps to hold the South West riverside until Heersgruppe B moved in to defend it with fresh forces.
Heersgruppe B moved fast. The rail systems were delivering new men each day all well trained and equipped for anything. The 4th Armee was moving in the south to follow up towards Breslau. The 5th Armee was moving towards Poznan to support it. The 6th Armee was not yet mobilized and would require a few days to reach the front.

Baron Poniatowski said: “Mechanicus has started mobilization as we expected. Still currently we are better prepared for war then them so I have ordered to invade them on all fronts immediately.”
“Can we push them out from war? Also how it affects situation at Shakal front, shouldn’t we send more reinforcements there?” asked Emperor.
“No, my colleague is right”, said General Szeptycki, “we need to hit Mechanicus as hard as possible and as fast as possible. Two front war makes our situation a lot more complicated.”
Baron Poniatowski agreed, “Exactly, on Shakal front situation is hard, especially Armia Poznań is running out of blood. On north Armia Szczecin is doing fine. At south Armia Wrocław is on retreat but we reinforced it with two cavalry regiments. Still reinforcements are on their way, we will strengthen central part of front as first priority because currently it clearly is in most critical situation. Our situation is really hard but we may be able to come out on the top from it”
----------------------------------------------------
Western Front
Armia Szczecin at north had suffered least in early fighting, first Shakal artillery fire over border affected it little as it was located farer from border, behind the Oder river. Now Shakals were pressing hastily over the river, General Romer, commander of army, was prepared for this. At first Shakalians were allowed to get foothold with only limited resistance, but at that time artillery and forces were gathered for counterattack. As Shakalians were moving troops over river artillery barrage started, soonly that was followed by full attack of 5 divisions, goal was to crush the beachhead completely.
At center Armia Poznań was breaking, heavy enemy pressure was simply overrunning it. Commander of army, Baron Prażmowski knew that about 5,000-10,000 of his troops had already surrendered to Shakalians. Also he was heavily lacking reinforcements which were still far away, so he ordered to retreat towards Poznań and preparations for defense near town.
Armia Wrocław at south was on retreat behind Odra river. Few thousand men had been captured by advancing Shakalians. Army destroyed all bridges behind it to slow down enemy advance. Two cavalry regiments had arrived to support it and made series of hit-and-run style counterattacks to slow down enemy progress so that army would have time to dig in.
North-East Front
Against Mechanicus, in Poland, standed two Corpses which were officially united into Armia Białystok. VI Corps attacked towards Kaliningrad with two divisions directly aiming for city and one defending the eastern flank and attacking Chemyakovsk. XI Corps was also attacking, 35th division attacked into Lithuania towards Vilnius. Another two marched into Belarus, 18th Division attacked Hrodian and 22th Division attacked Brest
Ukraine Front
Long border of Ukraine was defended by XX Corps. It was also ordered to march into Mechanicus territories. Against 13th Mechanicus Regiment near Chernihiv standed full 28th Division, which was ordered to crush Mechanicus resistance and advance towards Homyel. From Kiev direction attacked 32th division towards Mazyr. At west 33th division attacked towards Pinsk. As front was very wide several independent cavalry regiments supported flanks of divisions, made series of raids into enemy territory, and attacked supply lines of 13th Mechanicus Regiment.

Western Front from north to south:
Armia Szczecin – 132,000 (counterattacking to push Shakalians back over river)
Armia Poznań – 112,000 (retreating towards Poznan)

VI Corps – 45,000 (attacking Kaliningrad)
XI Corps – 45,000 (attacking Vilnius, Hrodian and Brest, one division for each)
Ukraine Front:
XX Corps – 51,000 (attacking Pinsk and Mazyr, counterattacking near Chernihiv towards Homyel, several cavalry regiments making raids and hit-and-run attacks deep into Belarussia)
Weldheimer ordered the men to retreat back over the river. The plan was forming out well, with the counterattack the III corps which had yet to cross recieved the signal to move over further south where resistance would be light, the artillery had been moved up directly to the riverbank and fired across at almost point blank range, except where the bridgehead was being pulled out. The reinforcements they were promised had begun to arrive slowly. They moved to the front as the 4th Armee. The numbers now against the Poles would be more than enough to win the war quickly.
Manstein led his forces forward. The Cavalry forces reconed ahead and the main thrusts by the IV Corps, V Corps, and VI Corps were aiming at Gorzow, Sweibodzin and directly at Pozan respectivly. The casualties had been moderate, but with the support of Heersgruppe B they were being made good of. In total some 215 000 men were moving towards Poznan as the XII Corps acted as a reserve of three divisions.
In the south the Cavalry raids werent slowing the columns down too much. The Shakals own cavalry were constantly vigilant and scouting ahead for the enemy. Earlier that day the XIV Corps had captured Legnica with relativly light casualties. As the army advanced Heersgruppe C was being kept in South Shakal to watch for any tricks from France or Stadt Luxemburg. In addition some 4 divisions of Landwehr troops were being readied for leaving in case of any eventuality.

The defense in Kalingrad was supported by wide use of the machinegun. Placed on rooftops and shot outward, the enemy could be staved off long enough for mobilization to continue. The 14th "Обесцвеченная Кость" Regiment marched upon the west, towards Kalingrad. They pushed in a hook motion, hoping to rout the enemy far enough to allow forces invading other areas to be crushed. 7,000 of the newlt trained recruits wer also sent towards the west, pushing forward with thier deadly machineguns and new toy: the flamethrower. It had never been seen by the world yet, and ints introduction was sure to inspire fear withen the heathen foes. Vlinuis was The Holy City, and was of monumental defense capabilities. Mounted Machineguns and snipers routed enemy forces as civillians rushed to greet the pagans with holy weaponry. The very advance on the city was broken, artillery from the city crashing into squads like metors.
The Ukraine border saw the most of the troop increase, and also saw the dreaded 15th "Счастливые Могильщики" Regiment. Though hit and run battles were hurting the 13th badly, the huge increase in troops created a push outwards, calvary leading the way. The push was agumented by flamethrowers and machine guns, artillery barrages that would last 30 minutes, and moved. Any resistance would be curshed.
Half of the 15th were enroute to help in the total destruction of Chernihiv, a city which now was little more then rubble. Every battalion was ordered forward, forward, forward.

Armia Szczecin was now also finally forced to retreat, enemy pressure was making holding the line impossible. Also as situation had not been here as critical as in other fronts, it had received only single division as reinforcements. During the confusion of retreat, 2nd Division got cut off from the rest of army, and retreated into Szczecin town and prepared for defence there. The rest of army retreated to east.
At center of front reinforcements had arrived. Armia Kalisz had arrived to front bringing relief for badly beaten Armia Poznań. New front line was establised near Poznań, there front ran on Warta river for some time, and from there dircetly towards Wroclaw.
At south Armia Częstochowa had arrived to front to support Armia Wrocław. Now all units had retreated behind the Oder there, except at Wroclaw and Opole there trenches were at western bank of river for defending towns. Also all bridges over river outside these towns had been destroyed.

Weldheimer smiled. An enemy division had been encircled in Stettin. He immediatly ordered the cities invest by Heersgruppe B. The 1st Armee advanced with all speed towards Elbling. The deep right flank was covered by the III Corps as the I and II moved ahead. They would ctach the enemy. The calvary moved ahead towards the fleeing enemy and harassed them in the rear.
In the center with the 2nd Armee Manstein ordered the men to push ahead. The Armee would march on Poznan in an oblique formation with the north covered by the 1st Armee. The south tip was aiming at Wroclaw from the north. Heersgruppe B forces would let the 2nd Armee troops rest for two days to gather extra strength for the push into Pozan. Despite the casualties, morale remained high.
The 3rd Armee let Heersgruppe B cover the Oder as it advanced, its plan was to punch through several miles to the east of Breslau between it an Oppeln. This was to be done as soon as the troops recieved some rest for a short couple of days.

Gross Feld Marschall Moltke was pleased wih progress. The casualties were being made good of and the men remained in high morale. He studied the map carefully. His plan devised with Weldheimer and Manstein had worked brilliantly. The 1st Armee would be able to flank the enemy line, or force it to extend to the Vistula, which would weaken it considerably. He hoped for a quick conclusion to this war. With Heersgruppe C covering the home front the Landwehr forces were readily available to bolster the ranks. He made sure the people were all treated with great care. Each that lost a possesion was given enough money to replace it. In this way the people wouldnt mind the change in governance. There religion was also allowed to remain. The Shakal, being primarily Protestant would allow them the freedom.

ooc: I guess this earth is pretty dead and Ruggkrooks participation in this rp seems to have also ceased at the moment. So Shakal, if you want to continue it then I may do it, if not then we may let it die.
