Stealth boat destroys civilians

Captain Marshal Wavering of the CZ Navy Corps was knackered. After 2 months patrolling the zones international water boundary he was getting jittery. Several blips on the radar indicated nearby vessel's and he was under orders not to be seen by any vessels. Afte deploying chaff and a variety of ECM pods he was still seeing this blip on the radar, 5 miles away. His NV search team couldnt see a thing against the daerk waters and assumed its low radar profile meant it was a small vessel, too small to be this far out. Aware of his orders, he ordered 1 Harpoon missile to be fired supported by two outboard run launches, carrying a full compliment of marines. They had orders to kill any survivors as the secrecy of the boat was worth the lives of anyone.

Private 2nd class Jimmy 'drill kill' Optimus saw 1 survivvor and dragged him up and plunged his knife into the mans throat and in the orgy of death, ate his innards, as the gooey substances flowed away, attracting sharks who featsed on the mutilated corpses of the deceased, devouring their intestines like people do spaghetti, and sinking their teeth into muscle and flesh. The marines stayed until all was destroyed. The identity of the crew was a mystery and the harpoon had a sufficient 2000lb conventional warhead with 3 contact fed fuses to ensure the boat was unidentifiable.

As they returned, Captain Wavering pondered; he had carried out his orders but killed several people, who were most likely innocent. Their citizenship was not ascertained. Captain Wavering was shocked at the actions of P2C Optimus and placed him on a charge.

On their return, the Naval Corps were excited at the missions success and planned to upgrade the combat status of their boats to operational and even had plans to relocate its cruise based arsenal of nuclear weapons to this new fleet within 5 years, replacing the aging nuclear submarines that had been rendered obsolete.

However, the Naval Corps were shocked at the report of their marine treating freshly killed victims in the manner he did and proceeded to place him in the loony bin, in the guise of fantasy liar. He got speaking to his nurse who, whilst sworn to secrecy by the CZIA on site liaison, was diagnosed with cancer and decided to spill the beans to the Truth Zone, the Craigzones leading national daily. Whilst it was relieving to discover no Zone ships were in the area, the truth was that the boat had belonged to someone, and the boats owners, and the boats nation, would expect answers.

The story was big news and The Navy Corps went to deny it, and while the actual kiling was big news, the news of this new ship that could go undetected was huge; and the fact it fired on an innocent vessel created shockwaves around the region, and all nearby nations carried out checks and inventories to find out whose citizens and ship was destroyed in a pre emptive strike by theCraigzones naval corps.

In an attempt to appease whoevers citizens were killed, Wavering was fired and quietly assassinated by CZIA staff, and Optimus was locked up indefinitely. However the mood darkened, and the stealth ships were mobilized inorder to face what ever storm the CZ govt was about to face.

Soon, a country would complete its inventory and check its harbour logs and realsie it was the victim of an attack...........

Gregory Root was a fisherman. He and 6 other crew members made up the crew of the Seaborne Dock, which was know throughout Greston for bringing in the most lobsters a year. Gregory also had the largest pay for a fisherman because of the amount of lobsters he brought in. And yesterday Gregory was stabbed in the throat.

"Ok harboring, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. Good every boat from the crab section is here. Oh hello Henry is everyone from cod and trout section back?"

"Yes sir, and everyone else has reported to me and said that 169 boats harbored."

"169, aye? That doesn't sound correct." Case Willingher, head of the dock in Mingher, Greston, started to think in the back of his head what was wrong. There was 169 boats that harbored and all of them harbored meaning that one boat was missing. What had happened? CAse went home thinking that after reporting to his superiors and the government that one ship was missing, then he heard on the news that one small vessel was destroyed and killed by a Craigzone ship, meaning that that ship might have been his. And that one of his fishermen had died. He went to his phone to call up Gregory Root thinking that he'd know what to do and got nothing. Gregory never wnet anywhere except for wherever work brought him, so... Gregory was dead!!

The news hit theCraigzone networks the following day, a grainy picture of the fisherman dominated news screens. Citizens of the zone were appalled, but believed that apart from some generous compensation, there was nothing that could be done. the nation was in mourning for the dead fisherman that their navy had accidentally sent to the abyss.

The minister for war decided to go on a PR offensive saying the fisherman was entirely to blame, that its lobster nets made it look like a nuclear hunter killer submarine on radar. the network analysts bought it completely, including the right wing nut jobs rill o'beilly, and hean sannity. in the zone, they have a ridiculous amount of influence on public opinion and were able to turn the public outpouring of sympathy to a tremendous war cry. The fisherman was denounced as a spy and the attack planes were put on 5 minute standby, land forces were massed and the stealth boats made ready for action.....

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
MR LARRY WILLIAMS
We find it rather interesting that you would say that the fisherman was a "Lobster Fisherman" and he is using nets to get his catch. Anyone who was once a fisherman or went to standard school would know that lobster are not caught using nets. If the people of TheCraigzone are too incompetant to know this, and make up false lies to try and shame the people of a peaceful nation, claiming this abomination of lies, then they are not fit to govern.

Therefore we give the people of TheCraigzone a choice. Bring the men who did this to justice, or we will bring justice to you in a swift and decisive military action.

Larry had just gotten out of a meeting briefing the Supreme Emperor on the situation in TheCraigzone. He had been given several options from the Supreme Emperor. Each one, if chosen, would be called 'Operation Naval Nightmare'. Standing orders though were to give the Government of TheCraigzone Twenty-Four hours to respond to the message that was sent. If they do not give up the men who did the tragedy, the 3rd HAVOC Naval Battlegroup was on standby and would be deployed to the region in case they are needed.

This was the beginning of Operation Naval Nightmare, and the Joint Chiefs would make sure that TheCraigzone would know never to do this type of crap ever again.

OOC: RL Harpoon missiles don't carry anywhere near 2,000 lbs of explosive. If this a NS missile that shares the name, then it has to be huge, SS-19 Shipwreck huge, and not exactly the kind of weapon you want on a stealth vessel.

Admiral Danny Samuels, head of Media at theCraigzone Naval corps appeard on the Brittonian news programme 'BBC nightime: Britstyle' and was all shaken up.

The anchor, Jeremy Kyle opened the interview"
'Admiral, the incident, called lobstergate by the popular press, is escalating. We hear the attack was unprovoked, and the boat was a lobster boat, not a submarine like you claim'
'Well, Jezza, the radar blip indicated that perhaps maybe not sure, fishing nets may have been 200 metres long and the fact our ship tried to hide, shows that we were provoked.'
'I'm sorry, but thats not the case. Several sources are indicatinga cover up. And we hear your forces are set at def jam 2, anticipating an attack.'
'standard response to being chased'
'your lying admiral. We've heard reports that you are cordoning off the area of the incident, and not allowing independent UN divers to seek wreckage.'
'well Jezza, we were using high tech weaponry, and top secret technology, that we wish to recover before we let the divers in.'
'Admiral, the victim was apprantly confirmed as a Greston fishing vessel, a lobster fishing vessel, one that uses cages, therefore it would not use nets, and would not appear longer, as you may suggest. what would you say if satellite footage showed that your major naval port had a wrecked submarine in place, and being towed out to sea. i suggest that this is a cover up, of the killing of an innocent man!'
'jezza, that sub is being taken out to be sunk as an artificial reef. its just that the reef happens to be 100 yards from where the explosion took place.'
'Well, we'll see. Sorry, Admiral, weve just heard of a rocket strike from a ship just 5 miles from your coast line, its target as yet unknown. whats your response?'
'Sorry Jezza, gotta go!'
'Thankyou Admiral. That was a BBC exclusive.'

The admiral got into his car and sped off. He phoned his operational HQ and the worst had been confirmed. A stealth boat had anticipated an attack and launched another missile, this time hitting a patrol aircraft that mildly encroached into CZ waters. The war was on.

OOC: Depends on the harpoon missile. The aircraft variation carries a small 500lb warhead, whilst the RGM and the AGM, the ones fired by sea vessels, and subs carry significantly larger warheads.

My planes never made it to your airspace. And they are so fast that i'm not even sure your nation could shoot it down. It does near hypersonic speeds. They are based off of the StarFury's from Babylon 5, but dumbed down to a MT variant. With rocket pods inside the hull and guns instead of the pulse blasters or what not.

Also, i'm not sure that if I came down upon your nation with even 1/10th the military might of my nation, you'd survive.

It was official. By the government of TheCraigzone's incompetance in governing their people, and bringing in major propoganda to cover up the murder of several innocent civilian shippers, the Shazbotdom Empire would show them what truely is a show of force. Killing wives is barbaric...killing those who do the killing of the wives is true bravery.

The Super Drednaught of the 3rd HAVOC Naval Battlegroup was sitting out in the bay, waiting for the rest of the crew to come over on the bay transport boats. It was only one of Two Hundred ships assigned to that battlegroup. They were due to set sail in 24 hours for the territory of TheCraigzone to assist their people in a Coup against their tyranical and mentally handicapped government.

CZIA agent Klaus Stormgraz sat in the bay with his radio and binoculars. He watched the battlefleet assemble and relayed the fleet numbers back to base.

He laughes to himself when he realised the Navy would dominate as all their ships were stealth, and the advantage would always be with the zone as their air force would make easy pickings.

He had crew numbers from a sailor he kidnapped at a bar. After raping him and torturing him, Klaus got the required info.

Whilst this was a considerable force, he took it in his stride and was silently watching the battlegroup prepare.

There is no way in hell you know my fleet numbers. You didn't even know about my nation till I made that statment to your nation, so you couldn't have anyone from your CZIA in my nation. You have no clue how many ships I have in my navy. And just cause you call a ship "stealth" doesn't mean it can't be seen. High Powered Sonar used in submarines can spot surface ships, especially fi they are out 1km ahead of the fleet.

So i'm going to ignore the whole "i got guys in your nation".

I call BS on that one. In any and all airports in my nation, there are many security checkpoints and specialised ID's are required for anyone to get anywhere near military bases, including the naval base. If you've even had a chance to look at the map of my nation, you will see that there are no civilian cities along the bay. The bay is surrounded by AA, AN, and AS batteries as well. The map is located HERE (http://shazbotdom.bashwebdesign.com/images/ShazbotdomMap.GIF). I would actually look at it before you make snap judgments. I'm ignoring your people in my nation as they cannot even get near the naval base, thus you don't know what is in the 3rd HAVOC Battlegroup of my navy.

Now edit that post or else i'll just glass your nation.

The Government of the United Socialist States of New Brittonia objects to the CraigZone's killing of civilian fishers. Lobster fishermen never use nets to catch lobster. Lobster do not swim in schools where nets would be profitable to catch them with. New Brittonia does not condone such actions, or the wanton murders of people's wives. Our government holds you in deep contempt right now.
