Revolution in Thive

International News Network Breaking News
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The nascent nation of Thive has been hit by bad fortune. Only days after the principality of Ivea united with dukedom of Dekedonia, civil disorder has spread throughout the land. Rampant members of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) have taken to the street, forming the Progressive Peoples militia, PPMIL.
PPMIL forces have taken Taspra, the capital of Balamkata-Zachoria Province. Local Militia and Armed Forces have capitulated. Commisioner to the Court Ilios Hajalanis has been executed and most of the provincial services have been taken over by PPP executives. PPP Secretary General Kalisipas has declared the independence of the Progressive Peoples State of Dekedonia, abrogating the Thivean Duo-Monarchs. Parliament in Thive City, have passed legislation creating the Royal Armed Cavalery, reforming the almost powerless armed forces that consist mostly unorganized armed forces.
The gates of the city, built in the middle ages, have been closed, RAC members maning the hopelessly old fashioned defences with muskets, Carabins and even spears. The democratically elected governement of Thebes has been evacuated by the Fleet towards Ivea Island, along with King Kalas.
Queen Regnant Ripsime XI has remained behind to organise defences of the capital city.
The situation is becomming all the more dire, since the confirmed fall of Ejine, the last city between the rebels and Thive City. War minister Geriandroshas pronounced little hope the capital can be held.
The PPP is a Radical Nationalist party, preaching against democracy and advocating spuremacy of the Dekedonian nation in the newly formed confederacy.
The PPMIL is a wel organised fighting machine, posessing tanks, aircraft and machine guns. The future of Thive is in severe danger.

As leader of the Anti-Communist Alliance, it is our duty to assist the Monarchy in repelling the vial communists. As we speak, two naval Task Forces are being deployed to assist, as well as the Sixteenth Army and 3rd Marine Corps. Finally, we ask where a safe base is so we may land air force planes.

PPMIL take Ripeas
Provincial Governor Georgios Salamis has handed over control of the city of Ripeas. Royal Defence Corps forces were utterly routed and were forced to cede control over the historic town and main port of the country. Their Majesies High Sea Fleet has retreated towards Ejina. The frigate Èleftheria`has been able to evacuate most government and RDC personel.
The Fleet also reports the explosion of the landmark 17th century Sofia church. After the blast, the red black red flag of the PPP replaced the national flag.
In Ejina, prime minister Marakanlis officially declared a nationwide state of emergency. "Today, children of Thive, we fight. Not for glory, not for honour or territorial reasons. We fight for our very lives. The PPP has attacked us on all fronts, but justice will prevail. I have ordered the minister of foreign affairs to go and seek help from all civilized nations. We are happy to report that foreign help has already arrived. The murderous PPP shall not prevail. To victory, to freedom, or to our death!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the burning rubble of Ripeas, PPP leader Jiannis Marinissimos makes a public speech.
"Comrades! look at this city burning. The proud home of our colonizers' fleet is in rubble. Their precious Sofia church is no longer. I hereby proclaim victory. For years, those vicious Thiveans colonized us and now we are free at last. I say, comrades, from now on, we rule. First of all, I proclaim, in name of the people, that no Dekedonia man is ever to marry a Thivean. Thiveans will have their own place, somewhere apart. They will use the gutter and not the sidewalk. They will have no schooling. No medical care. They will have no right to vote. They are no longer masters of their own body. They are no longer humans. They shall simply be known as Helots. Thive is no more. Dekedonia is the future. All Thivean army personel is to be killed. No mercy to the colonizers. Hail to the Wolf Nation!"

PM Marakanlis entered the war room with a sad face. Defeat was all over. Cities had fallen like domino bricks. Parts of the capital were in enemy hands. He summons his Chief of Staff. "Tell me, whats the latest, Stavros?" "Your native village has fallen, your excellency... your familiy have not been able to save themselves... we fear the worst. The War minister has... well... gone mad... he comitted suicide some hours ago. The foreign aid that has been arriving is relieving our battred forces somewhat, but with the fall of Ripeas it is impossible to land in the Capital... our Fleet... well... whats left of it.... is trying to keep the connection with Ejina open, but I fear that the capital will fall very soon if no full scale invasion force is set up to counter enemy advances. We will, however be able to defend Ejina and Louson cape with the ships we have". "Any information about this Marinissimos guy? What do we Know about him? Marakanlis said." " We haven't got much about him... this is what we know:
Marinissimos date of birth is not known, neither is his place of birth. For some reason he is in no civil registerbooks. He is believed to be born in the Oikia Reserve, where the last remaining Dekedonians live. Marinissimos nickname is Lyko, the wolfcub. He is a beleiver in the old Dekedonian religion, that savage cult of wolf worship, that centers on the cult of Lykomegalo, the great wolf god of war. He somehow combined this cult with a weird kind of nationalism and socialism... he has a small, but fanatical ring of supporters... we are in for a real fight here..."

This is Thivean TV Intl. Breaking news
At 4 am this morning, RDC forces have had to capitulate to the PPMIL in the Eastern Embankment region of Thive City. The Uppertown part of the city, with the Royal Palaces and Parliament House is still in government hands. Prime Minister Marakanlis has ordered the immediate evacuation the capital. It is believed that the Queen Regnant, who stayed behind, has been killed when she fought alongside her soldiers defending Independence Square.
The government, which moved towards Ejina Island at the beginning of the conflict, has proclaimed Ejina the Temporary captial of the Kingdom and vowed to take back the battred capital of the country as soon as possible. Meanwhile, newly acquired Lynx helicopters are succesfully evacuating all military personel from Thive City. All members of the military have been ordered to the Grand Fortress of cape Nousion, an area that can be defended with more ease than the capital, because the fleet can render assistance with her ship cannons. Ejina Island and the Cape Fortress area are the only regions still out of PPP hands, as the Mountain Fortresses have been evacuated ahead of a PPMIL offensive in the Nadchoria region.

We interrupt this programme for a live event. PM Marakanlis will now address the world.
> My countrymen, friends, colleagues,
It is with the greatest of pains that I have to report that Thive City has fallen. The flame that is the dream of our nation, is seconds away from going out. We make one last call to all civilised nations. Send an army, or risk the end of our nation. We have not made war on anyone...ever... yet our villages are burning, our wives carried off and our children made slaves. help us, and you will help yourselves!>
Proclamation of the War Ministry of the PPP
This is a proclamation in name of President Marinissimos. We warn all foreign parties to refrain from entering the territory of Dekedonia. All foregin forces in our waters, our lands and airspace will be attacked and all POW will be shot as mercenaries. Furthermore, we declare all private property to be void. All foreign bankaccounts now belong to the state. We will win, do not attack us!

My lords, we have heard tell of your dire predicament, and I offer to send help to you. You may think the help meagre, as we are what you would call a Past tech nation, yet if you would accept our help, we will send two legions of our best blades, with my son to lead them.
To Thive Government
We wish as to be able to send troops, but with all of the possible invasions on us we can not, or else we risk the chance of our nation crumbling. But what we can send is weapons, medical aid, refuge, food, and anything else you might need in the war against the commies. Except for men. If we are lucky we can get at least one division intothis war, but that is unlikely, unless the NB war ends or everyone forgets about our missile strike on Calizorinstan. But if that is to happen we will be glad to send as much men as we can afford to send.
That is all.

Thive City had fallen. The nation was in chaos.
Chaos is relative. In this case it was not nearly as chaotic as -- say -- open anarchy, due to the more organised nature of the PPMIL. Nonetheless, the area was packed with fleeing civilians, fleeing military personnel, advancing military personnel, those who staunchly refused to leave, et cetera. And no evacuation, no matter how well planned, can be 'immediate'. In short, it was a mess, and messes were where certain people thrived.
Only a few of those people actually had lived in Thive City or any of the surrounding area. There were not many of them in the nation. But they were enough; a few were military personnel, a few simple civilians of either race; they were united not by race, color, creed, socioeconomic status, political beliefs, or anything else. They were united only by the desire and drive for absolute power, and by a peculiar inherent cruelty. And power would be best established through fear.
It started out behind PPMIL lines. Every now and then, a house exploded for no obvious reason. Weapons and equipment were stolen, sometimes from under the very noses of guards, and then rediscovered in heaping piles -- as though someone was taunting the invaders. An officer's throat was cut within a room locked from the inside and with no visible means of entrance or egress; no evidence was ever found as to how it had been committed.
Nor was the PPP alone on the receiving end of these occurrences, although they surely suspected them of being committed by their opponents -- as the opponents suspected of them. And the incidents were, initially at least, too sparse and isolated to be connected; they could have been unrelated incidents, except for the fact that all of them represented violence and death for their own sake rather than for any political agenda. The perpetrators viewed a tricky murder much the way some of us view a steep walking trail or a model airplane.
Just to make things interesting. :P

TO: The Legitimate Government and Royalty of Thive
FROM: The United Federal Republic of Antigr
SUBJECT: Our Proposition of Aid
The Federal Antigran Government has watched these developments ever since they became public news and are shocked by what is happening.
Having recently fought a tough campaign in Trivalvia against nationalists, we understand your plea and are willing to provide aid to your legitimate government and royalty and wish to send military aid, of course diplomatic talks will be held where possible.
The military aid we wish to give you, if you accept, will consist of the following:
-
III ARMY AIRBORNE CORPS
-SSD (Special Forces) Detachment
-2nd Airborne Division
-3rd Airborne Division
-7th Airborne Division
-551st Army Air Cavalry Regiment transporting and assisting;
-415th Army Fire-Support Regiment, Airborne Support
Plus permission to build a temporary base for extra security, logistics, and civilian aid capabilities, on flat, easily-defendable ground near an airfield which we request the use of along with this proposition.
-
If you do accept these terms, which you are under no pressure to do, we will fly in and para-drop forces to the airfield, which we would like the name and location of.
Upon not accepting these, we would still like to assist you militarily, and we are open for negotiations by all means.
If even these do not prove fruitful, we wish to stick to our offers of diplomatic support which will, obviously, be present whichever path is taken.
Feel free to deny permission, although for your own sake we reccomend you accept. We will work with your [legitimate] government and will by no means consider ourselves higher than them.

From: Prime Minister C. Marakanlis
Honourable Lords,
We are gratefull for your offer of military aid. Although our constitution forbids the presence of foreign bases on our soil, Parliament has agreed to abolish this part of our constitution, so there are no more impediments to the coming of your soldiers.
The most safe landing spot would be Ejina, but at the present we have no ships to transport your troops to the front at cape Nousion. The next best thing is the cape Regional Airport, near to Allochia town, which is presently in Loyalist hands. Be sure to know your soldiers will be received as heroes.

To Thive:
From: Emperor Isuma
It is done then, I will send the legions at once. I will order my son to march to the capital, to await your orders. And please forgive my son if he seems a bit uncouth, he is young yet.
In the Imperial Palace of Mereshka
Isuma finished writing the letter, sealed it, and called for his son. The young man arrived swiftly. He wore underarmor robings, and carried two katanas at his belt. "Yes, father?" He asked. "You are to march now to the capital of Thive." Alehkra grimaced, "Why help them? It would be a great oportunity to carve out territory for Mereshka. Our nation is small, and we have little respect from the so called Modernized nations. We should show them what warriors armed with blades can do!" Isuma sighed, his sone sometimes failed to see that their way of life was outdated, and although they could hold their own against the modern nations, they would not be able to beat them. Their was a fast dying way of life. "My son, these are honourable people who require help, it is the duty of all men to hepl those in need." Alehkra nodde, "Yes, you are right of course. I will assemble the legions." Alehkra marched out.
In Taspra, the gerousia, the puppet senate of Dekedonia, convened. President Marinissimos arrived, guarded by PPMIL guards. After a thunderous applause, he begins his speech.
Comerades, members of this august body, we have triumphed on all fronts. The capital of the hated colonists has been turned into the waste bin those helots deserve. It is the will of this government to proclaim the following laws:
First of all, we will forbid all relationships between Dekedonians and Helots.
Helots will be living in their respective reserves, where they are kept at hand for the service of our nation.
The former helot heartland will be organised in 10 prefectures, that will controll the new villa's for our nations that are to be built there.
All industry of the Helots will be transported to Dekedonia.
All Helots will wear gray clothes when outside of their reserves.
helots will have no schooling or medical care.
Any sick Helot will be euthanized.
All foreign powers that want to intervene are offered a trade agreement, giving them the rights to develop personal properties seized by the Social Commissariat on the former Helot lands.
Foreign governments willing to send us military aid will be rewarded with lucrative business deals concerning our oil wells. recognize us, and we will make you rich.
Ra-Horakty
05-09-2007, 00:56
The conference room of the Great Pyramid of Heliopolis was a large, square room with sloping walls - as one would expect within a pyramid, so near to the top. A glossy, black-surfaced square table dominated the centre of the room, the floor was merely bare limestone and large golden statues of the major gods were dotted at equidistant points along the walls. Dim illumination was provided by flickering flames, although more modern fluorescent lamps hung overhead, dormant.
Surrounding the table, seated comfortably, were the main ministers of Ra-Horakty, with the Vizier sitting at the largest chair directly ahead of the statue of Ra. Much debate disturbed the quiet room, particularly between the Vizier and the defence minister. They had just covered the basic events that had transpired in Thive, and now moved on to the question of what to do about it, if anything.
"This nation of Thive," Vizier Menkaura said in his gruff voice. He wore an elegant white head cloth, decorated with golden patterns, unusual for a government official - they tended to wear the same wigs as the upper echelons during official business. "What do we know of it?"
"Nothing," Takany, minister of defence, said. "It is a nation of great political upheaval in recent times, but beyond that there is little we know."
"And what of these 'Progressive Peoples Party' types?" Menkaura asked.
"Communists," Takany said. "By all accounts, guilty of many moral crimes already, and they have only been in power for a matter of days. Racist psychopaths, full of vitriol and hate, and a casual disregard for the gods' creations. But, they have the guns in their land."
"I cannot abide the idea of communists in control of this dwindling country," Menkaura shook his head. "But, to my knowledge, no formal trade relations were ever established with them. This makes little difference to us. Nor is this country large enough for us to recoup the losses we would incur by taking action."
"With due respect, Vizier, it eliminates a potential trading partner," Pinotmou, minister of currency and taxation, pointed out.
"Indeed, and the level of hostility present in their words is concerning from a security point of view," Takany nodded. "Now, they are a pebble in the sand. But, what becomes of the world if they become a boulder? Clearly, they have no desire for peace. We should strike at them while they are weak, disorganised, before they become entrenched." He reached across the table and flicked a switch; suddenly, the glossy surface became illuminated as map of Thive was displayed from within.
"Putting an end to the crimes of spirit they are committing will help our international standing," Jarha, the foreign affairs minister, commented.
"A small contingent of medjay, possibly inserted here-" Takany said, pointing at part of Thive's coast. "-could run interference missions; moving like the wind, disrupting supply routes and patrols all around Thive City. This would weaken their defences sufficiently for an expeditionary force to take control proper. With a proper jumping point, we would have the means to sweep across the country, eliminating hostile forces systematically. A siege of Taspra would finish the task. With support from two or three fleets..."
"The strength of the medjay is reserved for the Pharaoh, and gaining our Lord's support for such action would not be easy," Menkaura said, and sighed. "This small country has the unfortunate potential to become a battleground for larger conflicts. Supporters of the rightful government are numerous now, but I fear it is only a matter of time before others come forward in support of these barbarians, as is always the way. I shall meet with the Pharaoh at his convenience and discuss this matter further."
"In the meantime, sir?" Jarha asked.
"Nothing," Menkaura said simply. "If asked, this government condemns the actions of the PPP, but has no intervention plans. Essentially, the truth."
"Understood, Vizier," Jarha nodded.
"However, Minister Takany, I would advise that a small-scale mobilisation of certain sections of our Lord's armed forces take place, along with the seventh and ninth fleets. For training manoeuvres."
"Of course, Vizier," Takany nodded with a slight smile.
"Then, unless we have more business to attend to this morning, we shall conveine at a later date," Menkaura said, standing up. "Good day."

2 Vojvodina-Nihon: Sounds nice, but what role are you RP ing?
I'm RPing random terrorists, for fun. If you play D&D, they're 'Neutral Evil'.
Within Dekedonian controlled territory, a policy of totalitarian statism had been adopted. This was just the environment in which the terrorists thrived; for when they succeeded in their endeavours against hordes of security and security measures, they would succeed in making even the government fear them whereas in more liberal nations they would only capture the minds of civilians.
The war started on computers; for computers run a modern economy, and therefore are the first place any sensible military operation will start. Repeatedly and for no apparent reason, hackers changed passwords and usernames; overloaded servers with DDoS attacks; redirected government pages and search engines to a single web page that contained only the word "Karatsai". This was only an annoyance to the new government, of course; but it was also only the beginning.
Subsequently the men and women of Karatsai decided to launch a campaign of fear. While security cameras showed no suspicious action, people found signs tacked up on buildings; the signs invariably showed a large and sad-looking brown dog that looked as though it had been painted by Norman Rockwell, and nothing else. The signs were torn down, or brought inside, or kept up; or whatever went according to local ordnance. But invariably, within two or three days of the discovery of the sign, the building blew up. Security camera feeds recovered, from the night before, simply went blank at a certain point.
Meanwhile, in other parts of the nation, locked-room murders were becoming something of a fad; a sudden rash of pickpocketing ended when the stolen wallets and purses, fully intact, were found beside their owners' cruelly slain bodies. There appeared to be no political motive for any of the attacks; but it stood to reason that the Dekedonians would suspect the Thiveans that still held out against their assault, or -- even more likely -- the helots over which they ruled. Perhaps in the coming days the conquerors would take out their nervousness on the helots; executions and random searches would become commonplace. Thus, fear would be passed on from the upper to lower classes. And Karatsai penetrated both; its members worked in the highest circles of Dekedonian command, and it had new recruits from both sides, every day.
Sometimes law enforcement would capture a perpetrator; usually this was because the perpetrator was too careless, or because he had been thrust into the line of fire by his employers. The interrogation would reveal much about Karatsai. For, while the perpetrators usually had no idea who exactly they were working for, or who their fellow operatives were -- and, in some cases, even the name of the organisation -- they knew exactly why they were doing it. As one specially planted informer said, only moments before his life expired; "You cannot defeat us as long as the human race exists. We are here to obtain power; and we shall only increase and grow in power, no matter how many of us you capture and kill, for power is an end unto itself...."

OFFICIAL ANTIGRAN GOVERNMENT COMMUNIQUE

TO: Prime Minister C. Marakanlis
FROM: The United Federal Republic of Antigr
SUBJECT: Our Actions Over The Next 24 Hours
Firstly, we would like to reassure you of our aims. On the temporary abolition
of part of your constitution we would like to remind you that you are under no pressure by us, although we applaud this decision. Rest assured, the base will only exist for the following reasons:
-Morale. A single place to stay over a period of time has been found to boost confidence and morale.
-Strategy. A strongpoint and somewhere to fall back to has good strategic effects. Also, this can be very good for defence.
-Logistics and Aid. As we will be aiding civilians wherever possible, a definite place to store and transport supplies to has many advantages. The same goes for military logistics.
-Self-Support. A base will ensure better maintenance qualities, as well as all manner of fire-support and other support functions having a secure base.
That explained, we wish to go on to explain our actions over the next 24 hours.
Firstly, of course, our planes and helicopters land and troops are also para-dropped.
Afterwards, we will do a number of things simultaneously, such as planning ahead, moving to establish the base and it's defences, and mounting patrols around the immediate vicinity.
Thirdly, we will await instructions from you military or move of our own accord, whichever you prefer.
And last, the setting up of secure logistics routes between the airport, base, and civilians for military supllies and civilian aid alike.
That just about covers the next 24 hours, so we will finish off by letting you know of the commanders of our forces so we can communicate easier. As we are commiting a fair amount of military forces to this mission, we will be sending one of our best generals to command the entire operation, also the head of foreign army operations, General (Four-Star) Robert Sandrez.
Other commanders are explained here:
-2nd Airborne Division - Major-General Kirk McIntyre
-3rd Airborne Division - Major-General Jeffrey S. McCarron
-7th Airborne Division - Major-General Frank Rockham
-551st Army Air Cavalry Regiment - Lieutenant-Colonel Mark O'Reilly
-415th Army Fire-Support Regiment, Airborne Support - Colonel Ian Kristam
We hope this reassures any of your concerns and provides you with some good information.
Signed,

------------------------------
The whine of the engines filled the transport plane. It filled the thoughts of the many paratroopers on board. Around them, were the rest of the transport planes of their division and others, as well as the Air Cavalry's helicopters carrying artillery and other equipment from the 415th Fire-Support. Among them was a helicopter containing an SSD detachment, should the need for them arise.
The troopers on board this plane were para-dropping about two minutes ahead of the main heavy transports, which were going to land on Cape Regional Airport, which the soldiers on-board were going to drop around.
Their thoughts were interrupted as a red light came on and a loud buzz sound came from the speakers, followed by the pilot.
"90 seconds to drop!"
Those ninety second passed very slowly. An adrenaline rush came through the para's blood vessels like in every drop, nomatter how experienced you were. They weren't expecting trouble, but their weapons were loaded and ready. As the order came to hook up to the line that would deploy their parachutes, and they checked equipment, most of them thought about home one last time. And about their mission.
A klaxon broke the silence with an ear-shattering burst of sound, as the green light came on with a buzz and they jumped from the aircraft.
They landed along with hundreds of others. Restoring order took about a minute, the remaining time spent mounting patrols and sending out soldiers to reassure the civilians that they were the 'good guys'.
Several people, some military, were standing around, watching as the planes began to land. The Operation was a go.
The eagle has landed! Foreign forces have landed in our aid. General Stanitos was not happy reading the morning paper. Those bloody newspapers will be the death of us yet.. the PPMIL can just read all of our operations. Anyway... I hope these foreigners will be able to help us get to Ripeas at least...
Admiral Tritonis on line 4, General, spoke a voice from the intercom.
Alexis! How are you doing in Nousion? asked General Stanitos. The foreigners have landed in Nousion... I think we may consider our positions in Nousion as safe... the PPMIL won't overrun us in the near future. I think it is time to hit back, said the admiral.
How do you propose to do that? said the general. We will have to retake the port city of Ripeas... this will allow the fleet an extended action radius, and since it is the only national armed service of any real size left, it will give us a head in reconquering our territories and will especially be usefull to regain the Capital territories lost a short while ago.
How about the foreigners? the general inquired. We will use them tocreate a diversion, by having them attack towards the Plafnoi Fortress from which they will be able to shell the enemy from the rear. We can thereafter join forces and liberate Thive itself. At the same time, we will use these blad guys to infiltrate behind enemy lines and to create havock in the core enemy held territory. They will have to kill any PPMIL personel and will have to sabotage local infra structure.
I suggest you call the foreign general Sandrez... we will see how he judges the situation...
From: War Cabinet, PM Marakanlis, FM Pesistratos, Minister of War and Fleet Lt general Askipias
To: General Sandez
General, welcome to our small country... we would have wished to receive you in better circumstances, but unfortunately, this is the reality.
The primary goal is to drive back the forces of the PPP, called the PPMIL from the capital territories. To this end, the capture of Ripeas is of the highest importance.
To achieve this, we propose the following plan. Since most of the PPMIL soldiers are stationed on the plain of Plafnoi, it is important to capture the Plafnoi Fortress, on the likewise named mountain that enables you to shell any armed man, woman and child on the plain. Our fleet will attack Ripeas directly, shelling coastal defences and landing at the docks. The enemy will be caught between two sets of artillery and will have to withdraw from the city. After the fall of Ripeas, we can bring in more troops and push forwards towards Thive itself.
be advised there is a country called lach land that has sided with the enemy... our speis have reported they will send an expiditionary force to help out those blasted PPMIL people... Time is of the essence commander.

Gentlemen, it seems you have decided to mix in our internal affairs. usually, we would fihgt you till the death, but our governement wants to settle a deal with you. If you retreat your illegal invasion forces, we will not harm you and will give you the exclusive rights of all oil wells in the southern prefecture. we will also improve Helot living conditions: they will have schooling and medical care, but must reside on their reserves and will have no right to vote. Ejina and Nousion will be allowed to remain free. Think about your taxpayerand go home in glory with a good economical deal.
It al started at 6 am in the morning in occupied and burning Ripeas. PPMIL forces forced the Thivean population ( about 10.000 out of 20.000) on a long march towards the mountains. Many were shot on sight, others fled and reached the last enclave of free Thivean territory at Nousion. eventually, a groop of 3000 reached an arrid plain on the slope of Mount Karahasis. Comisioner General Zenexis then appeared. He stood next to the flagbpole, where a Black red black flag was fluttering in the wind. "helots!"he yelled. By the grace of the government of the republic, you will be given this land as your own. As of 1200, this land will be known as the Karahasis Reserve. You will be allowed to govern yourselves, although the police will be ours and you may have no military. When it was twelve, the Black red Black was lowered without much of a ceremony and replaced by the flag of Old Thive, that bore a colonial Black red Black in the canton. The military and the commander swiftly drove out leaving the bewildered population to its fate. The gates surrounding the reserve were locked and there was no food or shelter available. the people elected Archbishop rakalis as their leader, who set out to organize construction and agricultural activities. The reserve wa shighly overpopulated and soon cholera and typhus ran amok in the reserve. The arch bishop died and was replaced by a former RDC commander, Lieutenant Drakolakis. he saw that there was but one option for his people to survive... to fight and to escape. To get weapons, he bribed a PPMIL guard and got a radio... here's the transmission:
This is Drakolakis to Ejina provisional capital. We are trapped here on Karahasis mountain Please send medecins, food and weapons, for we are dying of starvation and disease. To all of the civilised world: help us, we are in desperate need

Sandrez had just received the message from the War Cabinet and all the other brass. He sat in his command vehicle, before calling over the other Generals.
He explained what was going to happen.
"Hold it" said General McIntyre. "How the hell are we supposed to do this and build the base at the same time? We'll need everyone for this job. I was hoping we'd get about 36 hours to do our own thing before setting out"
Rockham replied. "Come on, Kirk. That was never going to happen, look how fast things have gone by already. More important, though, is what you just said. We need that base, and we either leave at least a regiment behind to build it and supply aid to those who need it, which we can't do because we have to do this job quickly, and to do that we need manpower. All of it"
Sandrez stopped them. "We have no choice, though, gents. We'll have to go in a regiment down. This conversation is over, nothing else to it, unfortunately. McCarron, you'd might as well round up the troops. Have the Air-Cav ready to transport some of the 415th's artillery, we'll have to have the rest truck-mobile, we only have a few self-propelled guns, the transports with the main group of SPGs haven't landed yet and they need a while to be put back together again.
McIntyre, I'd advise you to take some of the artillery before Jeffrey does and leave that here. While you're at it, do what you can for the base before we move off. I trust that you can round up that regiment we need, make it the second one from Rockham's group. Rockham, help get the troops ready. This is all quite sudden, but we have to be ready in three hours. We really need those SPGs and MBTs though, so pray the transports arrive before the deadline. You'd best get moving"

The Colstream Government has odered that supplies are dropped to help the Helot reserves. Ashland Military Air Force Base springs into action as 30 Colstream Air Force Hercules Transports are preped and ready and the supplies which include Food, water, Assualt Rifles (M4s and AK47/74s), RPGs and Ammunition are loaded. The planes taxi to takeoff for the 3 hour trip to the drop zone over the reserves and 2 Squadrons of Air Force MIGs ( 200 Aircraft) escort the Hercules just in case any opposition is encountered
3 Hours later...
The Hercules rear doors open and the strapped aircrew push their crates out of the rear of the Hercules and they safely drop into the reserves. The pilots then climb to 30,000 feet to avoid AA fire as they return to Ashland Military Air Force Base and wait untill they are called upon again.
So the suckers chose to fight us... stupid democrats! Shouted Marinissimos. The bloody fools have no idea what they are getting themselves into.
They do not know that there hero, admiral Tritonis, is really one of ours... so when the battle commences, there will be only one front, and not 2 as was expected. Hheir fleet will desert and fire on the foreigners. As for the fortress... stuff it with boms and Helots... by the time the foreigners get there, the mountain will be higher... how else could it be with all their dead bodies. Prepare it comrades.. soon the battle will commence.
You there, Hirionis, prepare a bargain... collect 2000 heltos in a safe location and boobytrap the place... they will serve as hostages if our plan will fail.
Tritonis... you go and take their navy... we will use it to raid Ejina and finish off the helot nation once and for all.
Tritonis saluted and cried: Hail to the wolf nation! Tritonis did not like to be a traitor, but he and his men were underpaid and victory... well... is not really forthcomming. better to join the forces of tomorrow than the ailing monarchy.. he thought.
The ships had begun to move away from port, cheered on by hopefull civilians.
To there great shock and horror, they saw how after a few minutes, the Thivean flag was replaced by the PPPbanner. a general panic followed.
What in the name of all that's holy is that noise? cried Marakanlis. That, sir, is the fleet... they have changed sides.... Tritonis has betraye us... damn him sir!
Contact the foreign general sandrez tell him we need urgent reinforcements or there will be nothing left fighting for. Send out a general distress call too and hurry, before they hit the tower!!! General Silakis, organize the islands defences. shoot the buggers out of the sea. Air commander Toparis, get the government members and hte king out of here to Nousion. gentlemen, I fear this is the end...

At dawn 380 B52 Colstream Air Force Aircraft fly over the plain of Plafnoi. The bomb bay doors open and a stream of high explosive and Incediary bombs rains down from the Aircraft and onto PPML positions below. The explosions tear through the morning air and the smell of burning vehicles and soldiers fiil the air as bombs fall into a small 5 square miles of the area filling the air with smoke. The Colstream Government is calling on all Anti-Communist governments to help the Thivean People and expell the PPML government from the capital.
Idiots! Fools! How could you let this happen. It was clear Marinissimos was not in a good mood. We knew they were going to strike how come we did not know where? I hold you personally reponsible Tritonis... I ll have your head.
Most of our forces have been heaviliy hit by the foreign airstrike... help from abroad has not arrived. The foreigners are, unfortunately unbribable.. I think it is time we pull a stunt... Comander Ipsilas... are the helots in position? Yes comerade Marinissimos.. The execute emergency contingency X... or in human language... kill them all.
All remaining PPMIL forces are urgently ordered back to Dekedonia... we will go to the hills and make a stand from there.

Just when the people of Ejina thought they were about to be occupied, a roaring blast hit one of the invading ships. All of a sudden she arose from under the horizon. It was SS Eleftheria and the remaining fleet that had been stationed at Nousion and had not followed the Ejina fleets rebellion. Aircraft from the SS Ejina took out the rebel flagship and soon there after the rebels surrendered to the government fleet. Upon arrival, Police had to use the assistance of the Royal Marines to prevent the ordinary peole form lynching the rebel sailors. tritonis was arrested and brought in for questioning. Later that day, the rebel officers were allowed to commit suicide. All of them did. Tritonis , however was turned over to the public fury... the former hero was torn to bits. The sailors were decimated, in order to restore order. loyal officers were imposed on the Ejina fleet and the Nousion fleet sailed for Ripeas in order to take the town by force... they discovered however that there was nobody on the streets.... it was as if all inhabitants had been snatched of by some force of evil... little did they know how true this was...

The Pathfinder was already in Thive. The Void was present, at least in some small spy or soldier, in almost every nation known to them. Right now, he was overlooking the rebel forces. They could pose a threat, depending on how many troops they brought. He had his 'Black Arrow' strapped to his back and, scope in hand, over viewed the enemy from the relative safety of a patch of thick foliage.

OOC: @Antigr, a loyalist part of the fleet managed to crush the fleet rebellion and has sailed for Ripeas only to find it empty(If Ejina were to fall I think the end would have come all to sudden). The PPMIL has been squashed by your aerial bombardment and have retreated towards Dekedonia proper (which is still legally part of the Thivean sate I must add). The PPP have been butchering many Thiveans on the way. The citizens of Ripeas are among the principal victims... the PPP took out most of them.
IC:
Marinissimos convened his war cabinet. Comrades, the bombardment has shattered our forces in Plafnoi... how is our retreat going?
A shady figure, Lykassis, said: better than expected. we will be able to mount a serious challenge to any attacks directed at our home land. We changed Ripeas into one ginat tomb... we had special units execute allmost everyone. On our way out, we managed to butcher another 20 helot villagers... the total list of victims is about 20.000. We also took with us a group of 1000 intellectuals and politicians... we shall execute them if military actions against us continue. we also put the oil wells to fire. when royalist forces take back the country, we can be sure they will find a ruined country without cultural heritage, raped wopmen, dead man and mamed children. We made sure of that. Theirs will be a hollow victory. And they will be so much afraid they will leave us alone.
After the foreigners leave, we will take back these burnt lands anyway.

He fired, then began to reload.

The Pilots chatter start crackling over the headphones as the Aircraft leave the safety of Colstream Airspace and start the 3 hour journey towards the Delekonian capital.
To PPMIL Government:
Your time is up. You have not complied with our governments demands. This leave the Colstream Government with no choice but to execute Operation Firestorm- a round the clock bombing of your capitals power sations and transport capibilities. Also there will be bombing of all roads leading into the mountains so you can't retreat to safety. All shipping decked in the PPMIL banner are now ligitamite military targets. Also any aircraft that are in the PPMIL colours will be shot down without warning. If you will not leave the Thive capital, then we will have to smoke you out.

General McIntyre was in the command vehicle with Sandrez, reading the message from the rebels.
Sandrez sat silently.
"Uh, sir? Are you OK?"
"Wha...oh, yeah...I'm fine, Kirk. It's just, you know..."
"I read it"
"Uh-huh..."
"So what do we do now?"
"Kirk, this hasn't happened for six years..."
"Yeeeesssss"
"I have absolutely no idea at all whatsoever"
"Sir, I've thought and...I'm sorely tempted to go after the buggers with all our might. But the civilians..."
"We'll have to back off, is what you're getting at"
"You took the bloody words out of my mouth. And they taste sour, believe me. Hell of a time for Marinissimos to grow a backbone"
"Aye. However, we can't run away...I've got an idea. Move the divisions to different positions. How about...we leave one here, send the others to a point between us and Dekedonia, one offset to the left, the other to the right. If they attack us, we attack them back"
"Not too sure...I suppose we can't do anything else, though"
"By the way, get a message through to Marinissimos...tell him that if he touches another civilian, we'll show him what three..."
A clerk burst into the room. "Sir, the other divisions will arrive in one hour!"
Sandrez continued.
"As I was saying. We'll show him what five divisions can do. We'll kill ten of them for every civilian. Then we'll take some prisoner and let them be lynched by the public"
"Isn't that a tad extreme? We do obey the Geneva Convention, mainly"
Sandrez flashed McIntyre a wild grin. He wrote something on a peice of paper and passed it to him. McIntyre smiled back before chucking the note in the fire.
Send in the SSD. Kill their leader.

The B52s empty their load into the dark sky. The bombs fall towards their target, the main road through the capital. The Colstream government had earlier declared unrestricted warfare over PPMIL forces. 3 ships had gone down earlier in the day because of Colstream Navy Typhoon Class subs firing the new SP155 Anti ship missile. Also heavy casualties have been heard of civillians caught up the bombing of Thive City. A wave was going overthe city every hour adding to the devastation.

Sandrez had gone off to collapse on his bunk after a 16-hour shift.
General Rockham had taken his place in the command vehicle, and had just received the message from the Colstream MoD. After reading it once, he yelled out into the night.
"Kirk! Jeffrey! Get over here!"
The other two Major-Generals jogged over and climbed in.
The first to speak was McCarron.
"What the hell...this'd better be good, I was just going to have some coffee in the mess"
Rockham handed him a mug full of coffee and explained, handing over the message.
McIntyre spoke up. "Why do civilians get caught up in these things, anyway? Why do these Colstream people bomb them?"
McCarron put down the mug.
"Because they got no *cough* choice, 'ave they?"
"Suppose so. We've got to get in there, fast. Their lives depend on us"
"What can we do?"
"Isn't it obvious? What do you think the Air Cavalry is for?"
Rockham spoke.
"Agreed. Air Cav it is. However, it's in enemy hands...this will mean assaulting it. Luckily, we have four divisions to do this. Sixty-four thousand men and their dog shouldn't fail, should they?"
"Shouldn't Sandrez know about this?"
"The man's just collapsed on his bunk for the first time since 24 hours ago. Besides, he always told us to act on our own initiative. He said, lives come before brass"
Each man took a deep breath. McIntyre went into another section of the vehicle so he could send some telegrams. Rockham went off to find the commanders of the other two divisions, who were unloading their transports.

TO: The Colstream MoD
We agree. Our forces should join as soon as possible.
Just so you know, two more Antigran Airborne divisions have landed, the 21st and 12th. Their commanders are, respectively, Major-General Frank FitzPatrick and Major-General George Wynn-Smithe.
-----------------
TO: The Colstream Forces Commander
We are going to launch an assault on Thive City, for territorial gains and civilian intents alike. It will be comprised of 69,452 soldiers and other military personnel, with all their equipment. It begins in eight hours, at around 9:00 am. We will need all the air support you can give. We will mention, however, a message we recieved from the PPP not a few days ago. It stated that, unless we ceased military operations against them, that they would butcher a thousand civilians. It breaks our hearts, therefore, to go ahead with this with that message in mind. Your air forces will be joined by the Air Support forces integrated into the Airborne Divisions, your ground forces will hopefully be joined by ours. Give no indication that you are getting ready for an assault until the last minute. Good luck.
-----------------
In eight hours the blue flares would soar into the sky, the traditional signal of an Antigran Advance. The assault would be lead by a coffee-stiffened General Sandrez, up on the lines as always. In eight hours...a thouand civilians may be killed. But in eight hours...more will be saved. This would be the biggest Antigran military assault since the Second Dephirian Civil War. And with the same general at the fore.

TO: Antigr-
We will bomb the outskirts of Thive City using MK5 Viper Fighter Bombers during the operation instead of B52s to minimise both Civilian and Your Forces casualties.
1 hour before you go in, we will initiate the final B52 raid comprising of all our B52 fleet (400 Aircraft). It will last 30 minutes which will pulverise the enemy's capacity to reinforce the outer defences and may also destroy the main government buildings if they are still intact. Then, we will use radar jamming bombs to paralyse the radio network and stop any communications getting from the outer city to the main government sector. Fire support will be given also just after the bombings by the B52s, by the 1st Battle Fleet of the Colstream Navy. 1st Para Division will be circling overhead in Hercules and will be dropped to secure the coast around Thive City to stop any PPMIL forces from retreating and evacuating by boat. Also 6 Divisions will land in an amphibious assault and encircle the capital from the north which will trap all PPMIL forces in the city. These forces will be under the Command of 4 Star General George"Lightning" Storm. But he will be under your operational command and only command his forces under your authority.

Sandrez had risen at 8am. It was now 57 minutes later. He was in his heavily-armoured command vehicle, which would be going in with the lead forces.
A radio call had been put through to General Storm, telling him to get ready and go at exactly 9am.
8:58:17
Sandrez opened a hatch and stood on top of his vehicle, gripping the small turret with one hand.
"Start your engines!"
All the armoured vehicles obeyed. Their diesels revved into life.
The Antigran helicopters and aircraft had already taken off. Sandrez waited nervously.
8:59:52
Sandrez glanced at his watch. He raised his head up, and yelled.
"Roll 'em!"
The thousands of vehicles moved off as one. They were following the road into the City, in a large, fast-moving column. The artillery would fire as soon as targets were in range. Sandrez checked the machine-gun on his hatch. Soon, it would be spitting lead at all who resisted.

9:00:00 All 100 guns of the 1st Battle Fleet open up along the coast as the landing craft touch dry land and the first infantry run out of the assault boats. No opposition..yet. Helicopters suddenly appear with the first Light Tanks and APCs swinging underneath them. They are dropped and the tanks start opening up with their 100 MM Light guns. The PPMIL trenches disappear under heavy rocket fire from the RPG Storm Troopers from the 101st Storm Trooper Division. Other Storm Troopers carrying AK 47s,AK 74s and PK and PKM belt fed Machine Guns rush the positions and start firing into trenches with no mercy. Reports start coming in of Antigran Troops breaching defences on the other side of town. They have had more success so far because of more troops avaliable to them and had 8 Divisions to our 6 Divisions and 1 Airborne Division. Suddenly a bunker goes up in flames as a MK5 Viper Fighter Bomber drops 2 1000lb Napalm bombs onto it and the PPMIL troops beside it run screaming on fire. Our soldiers mow them down and start clearing the beach defences using Pickup Trucks with Recoil-less rifles,TOW missiles and PK and PKM and 50 Calibre machine Guns mounted on them.
9:45:00
Colstream Forces had advanced round the East to the North of Thive City, cutting off any PPMIL forces from the Mountains. Antigran Troops have penetrated at least a mile away from the government sector of Thive city . Most PPMIL resistance had ceased. There was no word of the PPMIL government's leader or subordinates. The resistance however facing Colstream Troops was fierce. Casualties were at the moment 40 killed and 100 wounded and we had killed around 200 and captured over 300 prisioners and there had been only a loss of 5 tanks and 21 Apcs some to enemy RPG fire but mostly due to mechanical failure because of damaged roads or falling debris wrecking the wheels. All was going smooothly for now........
We only have five divisions and two regiments, all airborne, support, or AirCav.
OOC: Thive, you're missing all the action!
IC:
Colonel Davenport's Regiment
1st Brigade
3rd Army Airborne Division
Thive City
Colonel Davenport loaded a fresh belt of .50 cal into the MG on the roof of his Marauder MBT. He ducked down as he heard a burst of enemy machine-gun fire, then rose again, cocked the weapon, and fired.
Pistol rounds pinged off the gun shield while he mowed.
The tank's gun belched High Explosive into a machine-gun post, as many other tanks around him did likewise. The most dangerous resistance dealt with, the tanks proceded over the top of a hastily-built barricade made of wrecked bits of car.
The cannon and machine-gun fire started again as they dealt with a fresh wave of opposition.
Suddenly, RPGs opened up from all manner of places. Davenport was hit in the shoulder by shrapnel and received a light wound. He fired off a last burst before de-cocking the weapon (standard procedure before 'buttoning up') and slipping back inside the tank to operate the .30 cal co-axial.
The RPG rounds were easily defeated by the tanks NERA, composite, and DU armour but some had their tracks blown. The tank crews, of course, had spare track lengths but could not attach them under fire.
Davenport ceased firing as he waited for the weapon to cool. He slipped over to the tank's hot-and-cold-running-water-and-coffee/tea machine and poured himself a cup of cold water to calm himself, fairly hard to do under RPG fire.
His infantry were having less success. They slipped behind the tanks and fired occasionally, sometimes hitting a target. They were far into the city, as Davenport's regiment was the spearhead. PPP forces sensed they were bogging them down here, and more troops appeared. The Antigran artillery was mostly unavailable and firing somewhere else.
Davenport, with his good arm, picked up the mouthpeice of the tank's radio and yelled into it.
"This is Davenport! Request urgent reinforcements, over"
"Reinforcements already requested by several other tank commanders and infantry. On their way, about 15 tanks and a lot of MICVs. Fire incendiary, and send in some combat engineers with Plastic Explosive, over."
"Already tried that, started a few fires, combat engineers nowhere near buildings. We need help, over"
"Reinforcements five minutes away. Nearest friendly forces, Colstream fighter-bombers, over."
"Right. Over and out"
He put himself through to the Colstream forces.
"We need fire support real bad. A mile from governmental area, other commanders presumably encountering heavy resistance too. Fire support needed badly, our artillery shelling the government buildings and supporting the others. Help us, over"

"OK" came the reply." We will give you a heavy artillery barrage to knock out Some positions. "As he said that all 500 guns open up and hundreds of shells start landing in front of Antigran positions. 6 MK5 Viper Fighter Bombers fly over and drop 2000lb bombs onto buildings causing some to collapse completely. Suddenly to the Antigrans right, the spearhead of the Colstream 1st Armoured Division suddenly appears through the smoke. The PPMIL troopers suddenly flee into the smoke only to be mown down by machine gun fire from the Antigran troops. Suddenly the sky is filled by fighters from the 1st Battle Fleets Carriers. The PPMIL are so taken aback by this sudden appearance, some actually surrender to Antigran troops. However they are shot at by snipers as they step out of their positions. A MK2 Rhino Tank suddenly turns its 75MM Gun and blasts the nearest building causing it to partially collaspse. The sniper fire suddenly ceases.
I got nothing more to post 'til Thive posts.
