A Discovery of Lands

A ship poked tentavily into Atlantic waters, followed by two more. These waters had not been travelled in a time, and the marine life was bold and unafraid of the interlopers. A dolphin jumped beside the ship, and it was all a man could do not to spear it with a harpoon. That and the fact he didn't have a harpoon.

The ships soon reached the golden sands of a beach strip, near towering mountains. The crews disembarked, the sunset turning the ocean even more sapphiric, the sands even more golden. After three days long hike, seeing abundant fruit, populous and curageous animals, and beautiful landscape. Three days hard marching, and they had arrived at the top of Mount Ndvolu, being able to see the whole land.

What they say was breathtaking, majestic purple mountains around them and to the distance. The vague outline of Bigail's thick forests, the magnifence of Lake Moon, and the rivers flowing in and out of it. The plains of the Seaborne Peninsula, and the peaks of the distant Stormkeeper Mountains. He could even see the crumbling ruins of a few cities here and there, saddening him. The damage was undone, with the exception of the ruins, and indeed had become more beautiful. It would take a day to get back down to the coastal plains, but they had seen what they could see. They sent back a message to the Free Empire, however there was a glitch and it went to all world governments.

Official Land Survey:
To: World Governments
From: Vantanian Land Survey
After our initial survey of the lands of Old Vantania, we have found that they have healed completly and are more beatiful, rich, and picturesque then before the fire. What's more, the charred ruins of a few of the larger cities remain as solid foundations for future construction. We feel Old Vantania is fit for colonization.

OOC: There will be no plots in this. I encourage war between people, as the land is resource rich. In the east, there is oil, in the west there is mineral resources, and in the center their are dense forests. All of the land is perfect for farming.

Upon hearing the message, An extremely small Maldorian flotilla was quickly sent to investigate. Although the fleet was small, all of the ships were stealth. They would be perfect for secret colonization..

Old Vantania
11:17 AM

The U.S.S. Aries, Scorpio, and Libra lay off the Vantanian Coast with several other ships. Troops had alrady gone ashore to make a claim for Cookesland.

"Are the troops ashore?" asked Captain Rosseau of the Scorpio

"Yes Captain, they're at the top of Mt. Copper."

"Good, tell them to claim everything in the bay and the Seabourne Peninsula."

"Yes, Captain."

Soon troops were prospecting all over the new claim

"New Vantania eh, looks good, it has healed perfectly. And it is up for colonization. Being as we are the only ones to see this os far I want to get the largest pick. Send 4 Nimitz class carriers for each area i want. I want to take all of Seabourne Penisila all the way to the edge of Riverrise Mountain, as well as the Island of Bigail and all of Bigail Bay, I would also like Wolffang Penisila, that is the smallest so only have 2 Nimitz go there. I would also like a blockade of Irondecks and Seastabbers, as well as Oscar class submarines, to block off Bigail Island. Those are my orders, carry them out."

New Vantania Waters

Fleet of 14 Nimitz, 35 Irondecks, 25 Seastabbers, and 60 Oscar class subs traveled as fast as they could to get to New Vantania and be the first there. The sea was rich with fish. There was so much a sailor could bend out of the boat and pick them up with his hands. They couldn't help but kill fish as the fleet plowed through the beautiful sparkling blue ocean. As they got closer to their destination they could see large forests covering the western landscape. As they landed large mountains cast a shade across the coast, taking the sun's intense heat off of the sailors. They made a beach head and some sailors went inland to explore this land. the first block of the blockade was made in front of Bigail Island, then the restless sailors finally got to rest.

OOC: Yep. Keep in mind Old Vantania is about the size of Russia. And Greston, expect people to take land from you. I doubt you could hold on to all that land that hasn't even been developed. Oh, yeah, it's Old Vantania not New Vantania.

IC:

The men across the channel onto Kneece, soon met by more New Vantanian ships. There, the set up base and started working on colonizing. Leaving only the bare minimum they set out onto the coastal plains again and started expanding into the rough mountains, and along the beach.

As a small group of 13 sailors went inland they noticed a campo already being made, there was only three ships worth of them, so if they could kill at least two boats worth they could get the land. 10 of the soldiers stayed to watch what the other colony troopd were doing as as the other 3 went back to get some troops. Half an hour later 1,000 reinforcements arrived to help kill the people threatening to take their land, they moved in making sure they were under the brush and trees until they were so close to the enemy campsite they could touch them. The troops lifted up their AK-47's aimed at any near by enemy then waited thrity seconds. Then they let out a relentless wave of bullets upon the enemy. A small group of them of about 100 walked in closer as some others picked out targets at the top of the hill. the rest some odd 600 troops either stayed in the middle of the hill or moved up, still sending out bullets at the anomous enemy.

A small but effective rain of bullets came upon the Grestonian troops, the small frontline was nearly wiped out so any one still deciding to stay up or charge decided to stay up and snipe out the unknown enemies. Another wave of reinforcements of about 250 or so came up from behind the first wave then set up themselves by throwing a few frag grenades down at them, then started to snipe them out as well. They fired as large a volley as they could with out getting hit themselves. down on the other side of the hill 14 groups of three were running up the hill with larger weapons, so the snipers made a larger amount of bullets come upon the enemy as the heavy machine gunners set up.

They opened fire on troops setting up heavier machine guns, they had to get rid of them

And send 100 more men to russ the unknown enemy. Oh and call into Greston and ask for 10 more Nimitz and 35 more Irondecks."

"Yes sir."

At Unknown Enemy Russ

The heavy machine guns landed and set then prepared to fire, the order was given to wait for the admiral to call for the begining of the firing. It took three minutes but by then the admiral reported and they let out the largest volley so far upon the unknown enemy. "Send a squadron and some bombers, anything thing that moves on that mountain, kill, a camp of any sort, obliterate."

he then ordered the 22in guns of the Cookeslandic battleship pointed toward the entrance of the harbor.

"Any enemy ship in the bay, sink and anything that comes through that entrance...well take a wild guess what to do."

Soon planes were buzzing around Mt. Copper like flies...except lethal.

We notify everyone that anyone who trespasses without indigo status or prior permission will be fired upon and possibly killed.

Have a nice day!

=====

The APS Toil and APS Labour had entered the area they had claimed, and were now dumping bouys and mines around the perimeter. Once this was complete, they cruised in as far as possible, before launching a platoon of men to claim the shore. Many hundreds more were onboard, waiting for their need.

=====

On land, the area was being closely monitered by EITS 19. It had been towed into a new geostationary orbit, and was now gazing with interest upon the area below. There were no troops prescence, and if there were, they would not last from a barrage from the two grand cruisers.

It saw the platoon of men land, and start laying the perimeter marking and hidden sensors. Once complete, they signaled to the ships.

=====

On mainland Alfegos, 20 ACH Graspers were taking off, carrying onboard the shoreline base that would be established, all prefabricated.

Another 40 were ready to take out the components for the underwater base and the drilling station. The Gravscan 2 satellite had shown this might be the perfect location for an oil well, confirmed by the Resoscan satellite. It was the richest oil field in the island, and this was only the beginning. If possible, it would expand to engulf the entire suspected area.

The helicopters were now all in their designated areas: 20 had deployed the 8plastic-steel domes of the command base on the shoreline with all the equipment necessary to act as a forward command base and geological station.

The other 40 had deployed the underwater complex, attended to by divers.

=====

Underwater, on the quiet seabed of the coast, the base had been set up and soon would be activated. It consisted of 4 drilling rigs in a chain across the seabed, linked to the side to 2 large storage and docking plants.

There was another building in this long chain: at the end of the chain was the manned research station, that could withstand the pressure of a few hundred metres of water. Here, the 3 divers were examining the readout from the shock-sensors: there was indeed at least 5 million barrels of oil, and all the drills were on top of the pocket. All they needed now was for the drilling to begin in earnest.

=====

There were some ships detected by the grand cruisers within 40 nautical miles. They looked naval.

OOC: A little late, so my apologies for it, but we're in need of a new colony. We'll probably claim all to the east of OoA. Seeing as he gets a nice big claim, we'll take one too. Willing to reduce if Vantania feels it's too big.

"Sir, we're approaching the island now. OBSAT and ObServ report some troops on the island, unknown origin. Mainly construction, according to reports. Observational craft are continuing relays over the island, although ObServ are reporting low fuel and a need to return."

"Launch our own, get ObServ to send all their information to us."

"Aye Captain. Oh, and sir, this came for you."

The Captain looked at the screen on the book, before swiping a card around his neck across the cover. A lock clicked, before he opened and viewed the photographs inside. Several circles in various colours covered the photographs, signifying possible landing sites and strategic points given by the topography.

"Get me a secure line to the Collective Ministries."

5 minutes later

"So it's confirmed? We'll claim the Eastern-most end of the island. Some way west of the Stormkeeper mountains, top to bottom. Agreed. Thankyou ma'am.

Okay, gentlemen, broadcast our claim. Let's try to do this diplomatically. However, should it all go Pete Tong, make sure we have enough runways and waterways into that island to make it secure. I want 250,000 of our best on that island, and 50,000 of them should be engineers. We'll have to ship more in if necessary, but I'm sure it won't come to that."

OOC II: Barronia's shipping for this little island adventure of ours. As this is expected to become a rather large colony of ours, and hopefully a main RPing point if it goes well, we're not taking many chances.

At the Russ of the Unknown Enemy

Two bombs came down upon the heavy machine gunnerstaking otu much of the top half and and a couple of the men at the bottom of the hill. The enemies were pretty much wiped out except a few brave soldiers, so they decided that they don't need to over kill and gave out this message, "Bigail is ours leave or suffer you can have this area then you won't havce to face us again, if not, your entire fleet will perish."

They picked up they guns and ran back to camesite. A few hours later they were nearly fully packed and 2 of the Nimitz left, the six Irondecks and other two Nimitz were still not ready. The same officer as earlier went back into the admirals tent, "Sir we are almost ready to leave, and I suggest you call off the reinforcement Nimitzs, we have enough here already. Oh and the men from the russ got back an hour ago, they were bombed upon so most of them left. when that happened."

OOC: Sorry, I claim 5 miles of the shore and 20 off on the western side. And missiles will not be a very good idea when we are on top of a massive oil pocket...

IC:
The commanders who were now in the set-up structure on the coast were nervous. These countries would kill for the chance at getting at this oil. But they would probably still be stupid enough to fire a missile at a building linked by pipeline to the massive oilpocket. But then, hopefully, the enemy would have some semblance of common sense, and not risk oil-pocket suicide.

Therefore, the order was given, that on a signal, the entire pocket could be blown, and a warning sent on all open channels outwards. That would hopefully put off aggressors.
