‘Waldenburger Vires, Ut Deus Palma, Absultum Dominium’ for years the words had sat, cut in brass, polished till the sun would dazzle the casual observer. The words proclaiming the power and extending hand of Waldenburg, that’s it’s very quest was hypocritical in nature, and corrupt in practice. When the Caledonian’s had made their proclamation of condemnation the Imperial Government had been more then happy to jump on board, for the fun of it or for the opportunity’s only a select handful knew. Still, the masterly penmanship of the Cenobiarch, Harold the Cardinal Thousis had convinced a selection of the world to raise its hackles over a peace settlement of all things.

A loud cannonade brought the Admiral back to the present, compared to the silvery dream world for which he had departed the cold steel bridge of the carrier was a stark reminder of humanity and it’s failings.

“Admiral,” a junior officer whose name eluded the Admiral raised a hesitant salute and passed over a gilt covered peace of paper.

“Oh dear five seals. My this is important.” Vice Admiral Terrance Opplant was perhaps the last person alive to be making sarcastic remarks on pompous government correspondence, but got by with it on his own bridge. “We go to gain a little patch of ground that hath no value in it, no profit but the name.” The, midshipmen was it? Looked confused and attempted to peer over the paper. Opplant curled it up gently and placed it in the tight pressed pocket of his double-breasted jacket.

The Admiral moved creakily slowly walking off the consumptions of last night his dreamy eyes still scanning the sea. “Requisition order Prima-Sevrance-51179-Petra, bring up live satellite feed sector 17a Tepta.” The communications ensign who had until now enjoyed a very simple life, flew his fingers over a keyboard in front of him, everyone dancing to rhythmic tune. Beside the Vice Admiral a screen clicked to life with the painful sounds of sizzling moths. It showed a simple island, bulbous towards the south and tapering to a very fine point in the northeast.

“I’ve seen more difficult targets. Do we have military positions yet?”

“Um no sir…Our satellites are not as advanced as all that, we are making out landscape, Cross referencing with topographic maps…On screen sir.” What few pictures the Waldenburg Empire had collect of their target flashed before their eyes. “We’ve got the mountain range and little else.” As of yet the crew, or at least those without a commission had yet to even open the box and look at the pretty trees, not even to mention put the pieces together. Those that had were stifling effeminate yelps, up till this point they hadn’t even the faintest idea of where they were going.

“Put me on the heliograph, and from here complete silence, stream any information back to Home Office, using the network and code.” Admiral Opplant sat down and began dictating his message.

“FROM THIS MOMENT ON WE ARE AT WAR STOP
ALL CREW WILL REPORT TO BATTLESTATIONS STOP
WE WILL MAINTAIN RADIO SILENCE STOP
ALL FLIGHT CREW PREPARE FOR ACTION STOP
GOD IS WITH US STOP
WE ARE HIS SPEAR AND HIS SHIELD FULL STOP

Lights began to twinkle, across the array of ships, it was a very primitive form of communication, and only reliable at a few miles, but absolutely undetectable at a range and coded at that. Claxons began to roar all over the fleet, and once what was a floating array of the steel factories’ arcane art became the First Spear, the Lance of Heaven.

“Alert the High Command we have a meeting, send a hydrofoil for them.”

International Waters 1400 Hours, WIS Arbiter

“Terrance? I was under the impression Ajax Sloan was leading us?” the senior Captains and commodores filled into a meeting room, each one, as default wearing dress uniforms. “I see I have been misinformed.”

“Not quite, Admiral Sloan was but was removed at the last moment. I am lead to understand old Commodore Sloan, has just died. I am in command Captain.”

“Yes Sir. Pass my condolences on to him for me.”

“I am lead to believe there will be some sort of parade, he has condolence enough.” Opplant sat signaling that his command crew may do as well. He removed his hat, and the room was suddenly blown by the movement of feathery brims of two dozen more.

“Maldorians?” A junior Captain from the far wall asked, not with any fear, but with a tender inclination towards pity and sorrow.

“Indeed so. His Imminence the Cenobiarch, and His Majesty Wyatt von Waldenburg IV have issued orders that we are to stop at nothing to stop,” he paused effecting the high voice of imitation without approval, “To wipe this menace from the earth and bring God to the Heathen.” A gloom hung over the table as the Admiral finished, again they were assigned a mission, where the conquest was to be souls. No officer would speak it but the mandate was hardly unusual and far more difficult then vaporizing the island.

“Still,” Opplant said cheerfully, clapping his hands together, “how shall we do this?”

“Sir if I may?”

“Ah Commodore Annon I was wondering when you’d speak up. By all means propose.”

“Thank you sir,” the commodore flicked his wrist and a retractable pointer slid out. “Our first objective is obviously in the protection of our fleet, the finding the most unprotected area in which to land our forces and operate from. There is a cove here,” he stabbed down, “this point, “again he poked, “should cover us from missile fire from the juxtaposed bay. That however is not the important part, that is merely continuation of the strategy.” He went on to explain in some detail. There were counter arguments, general shouting and at least one bellowing match, and such was Waldenburg’s officers.

Eventually Annon’s plan was approved, with some hesitations but approved nonetheless. “Gentlemen I believe some sort of victory lunch is in order.” That at least cheered up the command staff.

St Michael’s Cathedral, Blünderburg 2300 Hours

The Grand Convocation hall was filling, men rushed out of their beds at night, filled the pews and stood in alcoves when no more room could be found. Around them stood the blustering figures of the Divine Legion, each one wearing the yellow cloak and knee high boots of the Cenobiarch’s guard. Starlight cast a delightful twinkle on their bayonets, held aloft in salute of the opening doors; whatever this was it had begun.

One figure, one sparkling figure, two meter’s high, leaning for support on a sort white staff. The massive hall fell silent; thousands of mouths sealed, or began the mouthing of choice prayers. The crowd stood and bowed the figure, its mitered head never altering from it’s fixed position of the high alter. It was a long walk, nearly 800 yards; it had been designed with such moments in mind. The Cenobiarch’s staff clicked against he rough stone floor, his eyes reflecting the ornamentation of the High alter, the Grace and Dignity of a silent God, the prowess and splendor of his Church, the very essences of His Divine Creation. The choir began, hauntingly soft, in time with the nodding heads of the crowd.

“God is trampling the unrighteous with his feet of burning steel.”

The cameras flipped on, outside there were even more waiting thousands.

“They are weak and they are faithless and his stern chastisement feel.”

Bishops began to emerge from two doors flanking the alter and take seats, highly ornamented seats.

“Stomp the Heathen, Stomp the Heathen, Stomp the Heathen till he stands no more. And Let the False God’s Gibber Error, still the truth will make it’s way, worthy of endless exaltation, to the chosen of God’s Grace.”

There were several more versus, all lauding he benefits of stomping things, and generally chiding the nonbeliever. The choir was cut short however and the Cenobiarch mounted the stairs, handing his staff to a faceless monk. A microphone was rushed forward and placed in front of him.

“Good evening everyone, ladies and gentlemen, people of Waldenburg. I come before you tonight, so rudely taking you from your sleep to alert you to the great mission that has come to us. A task set for us by the Almighty himself, and trial, which we must either succeed or die in most noble attempts. We here, in the Holy Church are your shield, your winds breed wickedness, we snuff it out, your souls breed lust and we cut is out.” There was a shiver from the crowd; this was quite a literal description of the procedure.

“A shield however cannot fend of all evils, whilst we protect our souls the world has suffered. The more perceptive of you have divined what I speak of. The heathen, the be horned devil, the very seduction of countries, the vices of monarch’s. As I speak a fleet, the First Spear of God, captained by Vice Admiral Opplant prepares to launch our Holy Retribution. Every soul that is unjustly taken, every inch of land that cannot feed families that suffer, is a sin, a crime. We joined the Caledonians in their condemnation, we demanded the best for those who have suffered, they gave no response, and by their silence they have condemned themselves to death. At this very moment Admiral Opplant has begun our war, our campaign of righteous revenge. When the bell tolls noon tomorrow we shall see who stands before the feet of God!”

It was perhaps not the most rousing speech, though the words hardly seemed to matter. A cardinal could preach chastity from the bed of his mistress, and have a thousand converts by morning. Still the Basilica, the street, a majority of the Empire exploded into cheers. They had waited for this moment, saved their strength, and now it was time to hand out a few thrashings.

300 KM’s off Maldorian Exclusion Zone 2000 Hours

“Launch all flights, coordinate attack patterns, and keep the cameras on.” The sequence was flickered through the night, they were only 400 KM’s away dangerously close, but it would have to do. The first planes began to soar of the carrier decks. 490 JAS 39 Gripen’s took to wing within a few moments from the six Nimitz Class carriers. Most of them totted bombs, and air-to-air missiles forgoing the heavy A|G Missiles.

It would take the flight less then forty five minutes to reach it’s target and deploy bombs, White Phosphorus bombs mainly, fire would consume the coast, burn the forests and reveal anything in need of striking.

“Deploy counter measure ships to the front and flanks, and hold position.” We wait here for whatever naval intervention they send. But let’s give them a little something from the Imperial Navy.”

As the fighter bombers roared past, a few small ships detached themselves from the squadron, small black affairs, speeding off at nearly 70KM\PH. Mortar hydrofoils, useful because of their speed and stealthy design, they would bomb the shore of anything illuminated in the firestorm.

“We have sighted enemy shores prepare to deploy ordinance.” God’s First Spear drew ever Closer in the night, ready to set the Heathen a flame.

SIC:

The moon shone agianst the dark oceans waters, upon which 6 Nimitz class carriers were floating on. The moon light was the only light that was given among the fleet floating towards it's destination. Inside the fleet's interior marines were being pulled out of bed. Many of them were only in their underwear and a under shirt. It was one in the morning, so something had to wrong, they weren't supposed to get ready until four. They were out on the mission to protect Maldorians incase Caldonia attacked, so they must have because the loud speakers were that there had been an attack.

A half an hour later they landed on the Eastern border and set up the fleet was carrying 200,000 troops now all of them had landed, a small envoy of 34 Marines went to meet who ever was in command and to find out what had happened that earlier.

Official Grestonian Response

The reports of a Waldenburg attack on Maldorians shores has brought us to the attention that the threat of our ally Maldorians being brought down is at risk. 100,000 troops will be sent to defend the Maldorian homeland and anything else that might fall under attack.

OOC: the SIC post is the arrival of the 200,000 troops I said I would send in the thread when Caldonia was condeming him

Gyrendis NFB, Nova Crete, Nova Europa

Although the Waldenburger shipping had been noted on satellite, it's presence hadn't caused too much alarm, the oceans seemed to be crawling with battle fleets nowadays and this one was still a long way away from anywhere important to Naasha at least. The seperation of 490 aerial contacts from the fleet was of a little more concern however.

"We have a problem here, W.O."

The radar operator waved to the officer of the watch, who hurried over, looking expectant.

"Multiple aerial contacts bearing away from the naval presence we detected earlier. Current course puts them over the Maldorians, or possibly Nova Cyprus. Computer guesses... five hundred fighters."

The W.O. stared at the screen, double checking what he had just been told. Eventually, he picked up the phone, still trying to decide who to dial first. He settled on Naashan Home Fleet Command in Kinnarn.

"Command, this is Gyrendis NFB. We're picking up naval air assets launching from the carrier group detected earlier. Five hundred aircraft headed for the Maldorians."

The operator on the other end didn't seem at all fazed by this development.

"Thank you Gyrendis, continue tracking, we'll take it from here."

It was going to be quite a long evening for quite a few people, all of whom would soon be roused by Kinnarn HFC. First of all, of course, they would extend their Maldorian neighbours the courtesy of an advanced warning.

Cyprus Military Base, 2003 *8:03 pm for those who don't know military time*

Men scurried left and right as the detection of hundreds of non-allied aircraft raced towards the island had not gone unnoticed. In a quick move, 100 Helixes took off, heading towards the east. Escorted by an estimated 125 JF-17 Thunder's, the Helixes deployed sea mines by Cyprus to stall the Waldenberg attack. Once the sea mines had been depleted, SONAR buoys would be dropped, effectively keeping the enemy subs away.

General Asif strode into the small War Chamber located on the island, only to see upset and perterbed officers and guards. They were not expecting another war, and this invasion had come as a surprise to them.

"Get me on the line with The Mandalore." Asif said to one of the lesser-ranked Maldorians while checking a map of Cyprus's defenses.

After a few minutes, the phone was handed to Asif. "What do you want from me, General? I was just about to make a visit to the Mirza tank factory."

"You're not going to be believe any of this but it appears that Waldenberg is going to attack us. We have assembled whatever was at the island but we need more."

"Good luck. I'll talk to the War Chamber."

Throughout all of The Mandalorian Empire, Maldorians and Maldorians vassals alike, T.V. channels were immediately changed to Channel 1. Channel 1 happened to be the Mandalorian Empire News Network. The following message was then played:

Men, women, and children alike, The Mandalorian Empire has been attacked by Waldenberg. Do your part in preserving The Mandalorian Empire. Join the military, work in war munitions factories, and show these scumbags that we are superior! For Maldorians! And with that, the channels went back to their regular broadcastings...

Heraklion AFB, Nova Crete, 2004 hours

The blaring of a klaxon called the stand-by pilots at the base to full alert while those already on call scrambled to their planes. The 30 F-46 Razor's (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12133336&postcount=89) of the 6th Advanced Fighter Squadron were soon taking off one after the other, circling the airbase and awaiting further instructions. They would soon be joined by the 7th Advanced Fighter Squadron from Gyrendis AFB and further F-22's could reach them from Seahaven in the Nova Aegean Islands if necessary.

For now the planes remained in a holding pattern while senior staff on the ground awaited news on what the Waldenburger aircraft were doing. The stealth fighters could intercept the depleted enemy squadrons on the way back to their carriers if it came to it...

To: The Rt. Hon. Alexander Nevskij Minister of Foreign Affairs

I should rather of thought that our intentions were self-evident? When one presents a battle fleet one expects battle that is how we understand it. Vice Admiral Opplant has been ordered to exact or revenge for Maldorian refusal to meet our early demands relating to the peace of Aurus Dorum, and more recently they’re continued expansionism in the Hallako Islands. This obviously, we our warnings early must precipitate a certain amount of violence, violence that I assure you shall be kept to a minimum in the interests of humanity. We wish it to be known that we shall not tolerate, the harsh actions of an extortionist, bleeding the world dry with his high handed demands of conformity. Waldenburg, and her Empire shall not allow such a course of events to follow; our fleet shall ensure that such political terrorism will not be the daily fare of Kings and Parliaments. We press you not to become engaged.

Air Group Resurrection, Maldorian Cyprus 2019 Hours

The air group flew on, it was as strange event no resistance had yet been mounted, Squadron Commander Harker doubted it was brilliance on the Admiral’s part. He was favoring fighting a bumbling enemy who had yet to learn the correct utilization of a hat, and all the complexities such advanced mechanical contrivances involved. He prayed for that silently in his cockpit, his co pilot occasionally making bleated crackles on the onboard communication system.

The night was beautiful, and the running lights of his squadron twinkled a thousand shades of red and green twisting with the pattern of the First Spear. The air fleet was arranged in a wide open pattern. It was Waldenburg doctrine to sacrifice as many as necessary to achieve victory. Any approaching aircraft would face a torrent of fire, from all conceivable angles, provided they were at least in a more orthodox position. Conversely though the open pattern allowed for no countermeasures, without risking the man below, above or beside you.

It seemed strange they were almost upon the island and there was no opposition, no swarm of enemy fire nothing, at least yet.

“Break Radio silence,” the Harker spoke in the rough language of Old Waldenburg the language of heathen kings and ancient buildings, “I will not speak to you of being the tip of the sword, the First Spear. I shall not speak long. We are approaching an enemy of unknowable forces, with allies that perhaps we cannot find. Do not obey your orders for the Cenobiarch, or the Emperor, but for your families, it seems if we must be at war we may yet do some good, let us protect those who have done nothing. Let’s keep our families safe and all go home tonight.” He paused wrestling with his military conscious, “May God be with you.” Resurrection flew on the night was young, and unfortunately some of her pilots as well.

“I can’t believe there has been nothing.” Harker’s thoughts drifted away, it was so easy to get lost above the clouds, to forget that below you had so much power. Soon though it would be time.

“First Wing Drop Ordinance!” The air group had reached the first outcropping of Cyprus and the lower squadron had temporarily huddled together to drop their payload. Five thousand pounds of white phosphorus, and napalm mainly. Although a few had been armed with the much less exciting cluster bombs, mainly to fan and spread the fire. Provided the firebombs found ground they would spread terribly, even if water was available at the onset it would merely push the phosphorus around. Although it would fizzile out in time, that time would not be before every single tree within four hundred meters of the original bombing was already a crisped cinder. Fanned and propelled by the clusters bombs would only add potency, something which had not been tested yet but believed to be plausible.

The island was about to get quite a lot more beautiful, at least from the air. And once the other twenty two squadrons deployed their fire, the island would be as close to hell as man could manage. The squadron dispersed and gradually pulled up into the flanks, where the second squadron fell to replace them in the great flying circus. ‘Where are the bastards was the thought that crept into everyone’s mind.’

General Xavier Carter is sitting at his desk when Private Marcus Jackson approaches him. "Sir, we just got word from The Mandalore that Waldenburg has starting attack them.". General Carter ponders for a moment... "On what grounds?" Pvt. Jackson says "At this time we do not see any reason for Waldenburg to attack them. These attacks are totally unprovoked and Emperor Spectra Phoenix condemns these attacks and wants us to act swiftly"... General Carter radios Colonel Joshua Micaiah "Scramble some ASF-107 Optic Daggers and send them to Mandalore Prime for the time being. Also, start assembling The 1st and 2nd armoured divisions." Col. Micaiah does as he is ordered and the jet's begin to redirect themselves to Mandalore Prime.

"Come in," MacKenzie said when he heard someone knock on his door.

The door opened and Admiral Everett entered and saluted his Commander In Chief. "You asked to see me, sir?"

"Yes, please sit down." When Everett was seated, MacKenzie picked up the fax he had recieved just an hour before. "It has come to my attention that a situation is brewing in Maldorians. A large battlefleet has moved into the area and we expect they may attack Maldorian Cyprus at any moment.

"Our ally, Naasha, has already mobilized air assets, whether to repel the invasion or simply contain the conflict is not clear. I've already spoken to our ambassador to Naasha and he's trying to find out more. Still... I need to know where our naval forces stand."

"Sir? With the Maldorians?"

MacKenzie smiled. "I'm aware of thier history, Admiral. I'm not going to ask our forces to bleed for Maldorians' benefit. But if Naasha gets involved... well I think our ally would appreciate the support. Now, the status of our fleet?"

"Not war-ready, sir. The Resolute can sail, but at best I might be able to give it an escort of two Guardian class cruisers. Everything else we need to keep just to protect our home waters."

"We have commissioned new ships, though?"

"And the shipyards are busy turning them out, but it will be at least three months before the first vessels leave dock, and another three months before their crews can function effectively in combat. And without the new Phalanx destroyers, we'll just see a repeat of the Battle of the Trivalvian Sea." Everett shuddered. "Just watching those ships go down from a distance was bad enough.

"Bottom line, sir, is that our fleet is sufficient for home defense, but is not suited to do more than carry our flag into the waters suggested. We might provide the naval equivilent of cannon fodder, but nothing more."

MacKenzie nodded. "What about naval patrol for peacekeeping duties?"

"That we can probably do. I'd still want to wait until the first of our new ships is in the water, though."

"I see." MacKenzie stood and they shook hands. "Thank you for your opinions, Admiral. This helps to clarify my own thinking on the matter."

Farmer Jenkins had just finished the day of manning the family sheep farm. Jenkins was unordinary. Around his small farm were huge corporate farms which could produce at least five times as much as poor old Jenkins. With all of the wars Maldorians is in, a great need of food for the troops had been required. Thus, the farmers had been strained by working rediculous hours. Sweating and exhausted, Jenkins stepped inside to greet his small family of equally-tired Maldorians for their meager-dinner.
Only able to afford the bare minimum, Jenkins family was extremely skinny. After a few minutes of eating, noise could be heard in the distance. Sounds like…guns Because Jenkins was so uneducated, he could not tell that it really was anti-aircraft cannons firing upon the Waldenberg aircraft. The family stepped outside and looked into the sky. Above them were hundreds of bombers. Their confusement soon ended as a cluster bomb pounded by the family, tearing them up.
This was not an unordinary event. Throughtout all of Cyprus, farmers and farms alike were shredded by the bombs. Hundreds of cattles were massarced as well…

“Give ‘em hell, boys!” Roared a Tactical Control Officer while egging on the Maldorians manning the MIM-104. Hundreds of Patriots were launched at the bombers. An overkill, maybe, but in Maldorian’s eyes there would be more to come…

With the Helixes finished dropping the SONAR buoys and mines, they pulled back to the small, isolated Cyprus air force base. The JF-17 Thunder’s, now without objectives, raced towards the enemy bombers.
“Tango 1 here. What are your orders?”
“You have permission. Kill them all.” And with that, the 125 PL-9’s were fired from the JF-17’s…

From the Cyprus port, 50 Audacious Class Guided Missile Hovercorvette’s rapidly sped towards the Waldenberg fleet. The small flotilla was to quickly engage the Waldenberg ships and to make them pay. Tearing up the small ships wouldn’t be a problem partly because of the machine guns and antishipping cruise missiles and partly because of it’s awesome speed. Their targets were the Countermeasures ships. Each Missile Hovercorvette then fired antishipping cruise missiles and then quickly spread out to reduce the damage from the enemy retalitory strike.

Expansive flames, heat smoke, the bombs had hit their targets and heat wafted up bucking the Waldenburger air group.

“How the Hell?” A pilot screamed and was cut short as a missile took his fighter roughly from below vaporizing it immediately and spraying shrapnel on the two planes above it, both of whom being in the bottom tier had fully armed napalm bombs. Commander Harker’s eyes went white his vision blurring as three planes went up in a clot of napalm, shrapnel and screams. The hat bomb served a purpose as more incoming missiles were thrown into disarray. The Patriot’s were whizzing around the Grippen’s and dozens more were suffering the same fate before chafe could be properly deployed and some semblance of order taken.

“All units still in possession of heavy ordinance take out the ground targets, we are reading approach vectors of multiple missile batteries. Deploy on coordinates,” he relayed a long string of numbers that were calculated in the onboard navigation system. Ninety or so fighters removed themselves from the group, peeling away in different directions all under the escort of the lighter fighters.

Casualties were still being taken in the air and the formation was broken thoroughly, as any fighter that attempted to remain in the formation was cut to pieces by ground fire. Another element soon rolled into play as from the east an unidentified flight of fighters was approaching, quickly and not sparing on the missiles. Fire drove the small air armada upward and then in a sweeping dive towards the east. The squadron had lost nearly 130 planes, forty to enemy fire, and another ninety out dropping the last of the bombs. Harker pulled his men into a rear vanguard formation, now facing the enemy incoming fighters. Ready for a missile duel, most of the Waldenburger missiles were still intact and ready for using.

The most deadly of the weapons was the TFAAR missile, newly developed by the Imperial Naval Service. Behind the simple name a very sinister piece of machinery lay, capable of ripping apart an organized squadron. A missile, primed with a proximity detonator to the locked target. Within five feet of the enemy target it would explode in a cloud of shrapnel, a cloud expanding for meters and weighing in at around eighty pounds. The pilot could set as many targets as he wanted allowing the missile to chase one target but detonate near nearly a dozen others. It was time consuming to do, the Waldenburger pilots had been limited to three previously and out of fear tried little more. No squadron would be safe but if the Waldenburgers had a lock the enemy had one as well. Ten more Gripen’s disappeared before the first volley of TFAAR’s were off. The air group readied with cannons, as they barreled into the Maldorian squadron.

“All bomber escorts abandon your charges and see if you can’t flank these bastards.

Waldenburger First Spear Battle Group:

Vice Admiral Opplant had regained his usual air of detachment, he sat daintily on his command chair sipping from a rather chipped cup a lemon tea and watching the display with a mix of amusement and disgust. Around four dozen hover craft had begun an assault on the main battle group, aiming most peculiarly for the countermeasure ships. Who, the Admiral noted dryly to his captain were doing a most “adequate job.” And indeed they were, from here the Admiral could dimly make out an orange sky, Cyprus Ablaze no doubt, and only a kilometer ahead the counter measure ship launching flare after flare, the multiple CIWS taking down missile after missile.

“Shame about the hydrofoils,” the Admiral added as an after thought, another missile exploding only feet away from his front rank. Four hydrofoils had been dispatched to Cyprus to aide in bombardment, they had all been out of contact, the Admiral could only assume they had been destroyed along a frigate which had been abandoned as first missile caught it off guard.

“I grow tired of this, very tired of such posturing, remove them captain.” The captain saluted and tapped the communications officer on the shoulder, the heliographs clicked out their message in a total of eight seconds “FLEET OPEN FIRE” The sixteen inch guns on the Montana Class Battleships roared to life, they weren’t quite sure if they were in range or where the enemies are but at the speed the gun crews were unloading they would hit something, from the very literal game of Battleship.

“Signal all remaining fighters to seek and destroy, dispatch a flight of Osprey’s as well. We may yet find a use for the things.” He waved to the captain who relayed the message thought the usual path, sixty fighters had been on standby of the carrier deck in case of an air raid. They were now launching along with a flight of Osprey’s gunships from the deck of the wasp carriers. The would swarm over the hovercrafts, and wipe out the fleet with a little coordination. As the first wing swept away hunting, a enemy missile wounds it’s way thorough the night, and with a looping pattern smashed down on the hull of a Countermeasure vessel whose deck immediately burst into flame. It was as yet unsure if it would sink or stay afloat a burning wreck, one CIWS on the bow still operated, the crew, those not covered in flaming oil were pitching themselves into the dark waters.

“Walters another cup of lemon, and this time make it taste slightly less like piss,” casually Opplant watched his men burn, Absoltum Dominium, no matter how many died victory in the end.

Casualties:
1X Countermeasures Vessel Heavily Damage
4X Hydrofoils Missing
1X Type 054 Frigate Sunk
66X JS 39 Gripen’s Lost (A few pilots I imagine would have bailed out behind enemy lines sortofish)
171 KIA Infantry (We don’t like trasport ships much so we stuff infantry anywhere we can)

To: His Most Gracious Imperial Majesty Wyatt von Waldenburg IV
From: Prime Minister Darren Renner of the Democratic State of Naasha

It is with great apprehension that we in Naasha view your attack on our neighbours, the Maldorians. The presence of an active battlegroup within striking distance of Naasha is of grave concern to us, and on that note I petition for its immediate withdrawal.

Realising that this is unlikely to occur right away, I wish to echo the statements made by the World Soviet Party and Dartia, any further aggression into Nova Europa or nuclear fallout affecting Naasha will receive an immediate and appropriate response. I would also like to stress that any trespassing on the Naashan exclusive zone will result in the termination of your battlegroup.

Sincerely,
Darren Renner.

Official Communique

In view of the lack of real relations between the Maldorians and ourselves, we will not be intervening in the conflict unless further escalation occurs. Naashan air assets have been mobilised to defend our exclusive zone as the Waldenburger fleet is rather close for our liking.

To: Prime Minister Darren Renner of the Democratic State of Naasha

Unfortunately no we are not able to withdraw our battle fleet in the near future, and more shall probably come before our exchange is done. This is truly unfortunate, but in the greater scheme of things it shall be done. We have a strict policy against nuclear weapons in Waldenburg, and this would be counterproductive with the goals of our mission. No we assure you that your territory is safe. However as your fleets and scouts can mostly likely see we cannot protect individual civilians, we cannot truly say what happened on Nova Cyprus but it is certainly burning now. If it is not to forward we should like to press you on the withdrawal of your civilian population from any combat areas, to prevent any more unforeseeable incidents/

Their Graces

The war with Maldorians only a day old, already their allies are fleeing their defenses. With the defection of the Quadesh, Waldenburg has gained a strong supporter. In an immediate ceremony following the declaration from Quadesh the Emperor, Wyatt von Waldenburg IV made several of his own proclamations. David Edwards of Quadesh was given a stately honor of the titles Archduke of Cyprus, Prince of the Dardanelles and Margrave of Rhodes. He has yet to say what this implies, this could merely be an honorary title and not a mark of governance but we are unsure. At any rate the war progresses well and we shall soon all reap the benefits.

((OOC: This post is in response to a TG sent to me by Maldorians, and by my ally Spectare))

Benard sat at the head of the table with the various heads of state and military command as the situation was being discussed, "We have official requests from Maldorians and Spectare for help in this matter; while relations with Maldorians are simply cool Spectare is an ally and is requesting assistance in this matter, according to our EMI policy we have 500,000 soldiers on reserve to deploy in defense of an ally!" Lt. General Grant Smith said heatedly, arguing in favor of declaring for Maldorians.

"But." The Saint said looking at his chief of staff, "Spectare is not the one under attack. Maldorians is under attack here."

"But my lord," General Logan Brown, commander of the Golden Lions added in, "We must think about the affect this may have on us, we share a border with both Maldorians and Qadesh for one thing, and if the attack spreads to mainland Maldorians there could be a new, and potentially hostile nation in charge of the straigts. It would be strategic to at the very least take steps to secure the black sea."

Commodore Clancy Atwell suddenly looked sick, "Have you seen the size of that fleet they sent to attack with? It is almost the same size as our whole navy! Such an action could be tantamount to suicide sir, with all the ships we have out of the Black and Mediteranian, we would be lucky to match its size in the next month sir... if we were to get involved in a direct naval action against Waldenburg the majority of our fleet could be reduced to nothing but seamen floating on the briny sea!" ((OOC: I couldn't help myself))

Andre Rodrigez of the land services simply sat quietly and listend to the debate. Finally the Monarch spoke up, "Enough!" his barritone silenced the room, it was rare he became impatient or irate.

"For now, we do not declare for either side; Qadesh has proven by its actions to be cowardly and dishonorable by the way they abandoned thier ally in the face of a superior enemy, they deserve nothing but our disdain. General Andre."

"My lord!"

"All border check points along Qadesh are to be closed, any SaintB citizens within Qadesh are the only ones allowed to pass through the border without direct authorization from me, do you understand?"

"Yes sir."

"Commodore, I want you to recall all fleets back to our waters and the straigts to be patrolled regularly, any Qadeshi or Waldenburgian ships that enter the straigts or our national waters are to be watched closely but remain a non-threatening distance away."

"Yes sir."

The Monarch turned his attentions to his Chief of Staff, "Grant, I want you to prepare to muster up to 100,000 reservist and home guards in case things elevate; and Logan, I want you to put all Golden Lion units on status red."

"Yes my lord." replied both men almost in unison, of all his generals they were the only ones who had fought with him in the civil wars what seemed an eterinity ago.

Finally the Monarch's Attention turned to his FA minister, Ryan Scope; "Lord Scope, we are going to have a busy day you and I, we are officially cutting all ties to Qadesh as thier actions have proven they do not deserve anything but our disdain; all trade between our nations will stop, and these economic sanctions will continue unless they withdraw support for the aggressor and stand down thier arms, the war ends, or Gods forbid, war is declared."

Official Statement
We of the Kingdom of SaintB have decided at this time that we will remain militarily uninvolved in the current conflict. The Kingdom however will continue to defend its own interests and those of her neighbors in all Europe; this being said any aggresive actions toward our nation will be answered in kind and the mite of the whole kingdom will be brought to bear upon her enemies.

Diplomatic Communique to Qadesh
At this time we find it in the best interests of the State, and of regional stability, to close our borders to your people. We do not approve of your base actions in abandoning your allies in the face of a more powerful enemy; beggining today at 12:00 pm local time all the border between SaintB and Qadesh is hereby closed, only civilians returning back to SaintB or Qadesh will be allowed to pass through and no trade will take place between our two nations until the following conditions are met:

1. Stand down your arms and end your support for the Waldenburg invaders who have attacked your until recently ally in Maldorians.

Through your low and cowardly actions you have brought these sanctions upon yourselves, let it be known that the Kingdom of SaintB wishes no further ill will toward your government or peoples and diplomatic channels will still be open to your emmisaries.

Lord Ryan Scope, Minister of Foreign Relations

Diplomatic Comminuque to Spectare
To our loved and respected allies in Spectare; though we are not taking an active role in the fighting that has begun in Maldorians the Kingdom of SaintB will honor the EMI treaty and allow ships, soldiers, and aircraft from your nation to base themselves within our borders for the duration of combat operations by your State.

Maldorians, a nation known for its slightly imperialistic and warmongering ways being attacked by an outsider who didn't want to escalate the conflict was one thing. Being attacked by another Nova Europan nation, one that shared a land border with Naasha and had up until recently been an ally of the Maldorians was something different all together.

This shouldn't be happening, besides friendly aid in restoring the governments of Naasha and Trivalvia, Nova Europan nations hadn't invaded each other since the Great War. Prime Minister Darren Renner sighed and once again looked at the satellite pictures on his desk, the Qadeshi forces were still there, moving towards Maldorians. This couldn't be allowed to happen.

Picking up the phone, he dialled General Farren of the MOD and gave the orders. The Naashan 1st carrier Group, which had been moving out of Kinnarn to keep an eye on the Waldenburger fleet, now changed course to take station between the Qadeshi task force and the Maldorian mainland, a feat easily acheived since the Qadeshi ships would have to sail all the way around Naasha to reach their destination. The BARCAP squadrons stationed in Samka, Reyvver and Kinnarn were all turfed out of bed and rushed to their F-22's, more of a show of force than anything but it was better to be safe, the Prime Minister reckoned.

Next, he dialled the number for David Edwards, the Qadeshi leader, it was time to make a few things clear. It took a few minutes to get the man on the line, but the voice of Renner himself, rather than another secretary seemed to rouse the people on the other end.

"Mr Edwards, good evening. It's Prime Minister Renner here, from Naasha, I'm sorry to call you so abruptly but I'm afraid this can't wait."

"Our satellites have picked up your fleets heading out toward Maldorians, given your recent declarations, I can only assume you mean to invade. Let me assure you, that would be a very bad idea..."

Edwards phone rang. He picked it up and said "Hello, Minister Renner. How are things with you?" Dictator Edwards let the esteemed man finish his sentence, and then added "Rest assured Minister, if your ships do not stand down, you may defeat me, but you will not defeat our glorious ally, Waldenburg 2. He will surely come and rescue my fleet, and together we shall rejoice in Maldorians capitol. It would be unfortunate if we had to make a stop in your capitol, I hear your cuisine is exquisite." And with that, Edward bid goodbye to his caller.

"Jenna, call up more troops, we're gonna need them." Edwards said before switching on his loudspeaker.

"Citizens of Qadesh, this is your glorious leader. Today, I require your money, time and possibly lives for this conflict. Should we go to war, would you not want all the glory? Join up, and I promise you victory!" The loudspeaker fell silent.

With that, the Dictator ordered his 6th ‘Aten’ Airborne Division to scramble in the air and provide cover for his doomed ships. "Engage only if you are engaged by the enemy" was the only order given.

In the months since the end of the 9-day-long "Green Revolution", General Mark Wellington had spent most of his waking hours divided between reintegrating and strengthening the military and weeding out officers and soldiers guilty of atrocities.

Still, he was making progress. President MacKenzie had given him as much leeway and resources the battered economy had, and he had concentrated on building up ground forces. So far, they had equipped twelve of the new "Federal Regiments" and were looking to recruit people for another seventy. And the military satellite network, which survived the crisis intact, gave the country another layer of security - if only in the form of early warning.

Which is why, on this particular day, Wellington was aware of new troop and ship movements in the Maldorian conflict.

On one large screen, the entire continent of Nova Europa was displayed. Screens below it showed various parts of the continent magnified. Wellington was walking past the screen showing the nations of Quadesh and Naasha when a series of icons appeared on the screen. He did a double take, staring at the screen. "What the hell...?"

He walked over to the workstation where a lieutenant was watching the same thing on her monitor. "What's going on here, lieutenant?"

"Looks like a series of ships... I'm trying to get classes and numbers, but they're definitely Qadeshi."

Wellington frowned, walking over to another lieutenant who was monitoring the Maldorians. Several cups of coffee testified to how long he'd been at his post. "Lieutenant, what's happening with the Maldorians and Waldenberg invaders?"

"Not sure... I'm--" The lieutenant blinked, trying to focus on the screen.

Wellington sighed. "Are you allright?"

"Um... fine. I just need another coffee..."

"Denied. Consider yourself relieved, lieutenant." Then, more softly: "Get some sleep. I need you rested when you resume your post."

"Yes sir. Thank you, sir." The lieutenant stood and walked unsteadily to the door. Wellington gestured and a captain assumed the post.

"Well?" Wellington asked the captain.

"Sir, it would appear that..." The captain gulped. "Nova Cyprus is on fire."

Wellington looked at the screen. Indeed, sections of the island were now aglow. He grimaced. "I guess they were aiming for shock and awe. Damn them." He walked back to his desk and picked up a red phone. "Mr. President? I'm sorry to disturb you, but you asked me to inform you on new developments with regards to the Maldorian conflict..."

As he described the Qadeshi mobilization and the situation on Nova Cyprus, Wellington had a sinking feeling that this would get worse before it got better.

"What the heck are you-?!" The line had already gone dead and Renner threw the phone at the wall in anger. Recovering it quickly, he dialled General Farren and spoke quickly.

"Fine, he wants to play it the hard way. We'll sink his invasion fleet and see what he thinks of us then."

"He really wants to fight us? Intelligence reports they have one carrier and only few air and naval assets." The Minister for Defence sounded rather surprised.

"Indeed, he seemed a little unstable. Threatened to get Waldenburg on us, but I reckon we could beat them here at least, if not outside Nova Europa."

"Fine, I'll make the arrangements."

Following the Green Revolution, Admiral Grant's 6th Carrier Group had returned to Gunwe in Surdun for refit. But with no active carrier group available on short notice on the eastern side of Naasha, his was again going to be called into action. Thankfully, all of the crew were still aboard that night and so they were able to set off within three hours, launching a CAP of F-46 Razors despite the proximity to their homeland. The fleet steamed north, on course to intercept the Qadeshi battlegroup east of Morgur.

[OOC: Note that since you have no western ports, I'm deliberatley engaging you on the east side of Naasha as your force needs to go round the country. This puts you out of range of the Waldenburger fleet unless they detour through Naashan waters.]

***

With 60 F-22 Raptors and 3 E-4 Nightwatches in the air along the northern border with Qadesh, enemy strikes were unlikely. Still they maintained a vigilant watch, occasionally darting forward into enemy radar range in order to assess the enemy electronic order of battle.

Now, the 10 EB-180 Stargazers stationed in Samka began to take on fuel, along with their B-2 Spirit counterparts in Forstviir. If it came down to it, Naasha would be more than capable of disabling Qadesh as a fighting force from the air alone. If it came down to it.

***

Renner decided one last attempt was in order, it seemed foolish to think that the dictator of Qadesh was willing to throw away the lives of his sailors and airmen to enter a war with a nation he couldn't care that much about anyway. He kept hoping he'd wake up to find it had all been a bizzare dream, but with no such luck he opened his email and began to type.

From: Prime Minister Darren Renner of the Democratic State of Naasha

As you can see from our retaliatory mobilisation, Naasha is prepared to back up our promises with action. We, I, implore you to reconsider your decision to invade Maldorians for the sake of peace on Nova Europa. It cannot be worth the lives of your servicemen and women to go up against both ourselves and Maldorians, two nations far more powerful than yourselves. Think also of the political fallout of such a move, your allies in Waldenburg may also be strong, but they are far away, wheras we are very, very close.

Waters of Cyprus

The 50 Audacious Class Guided Missile Hovercorvettes had soon been cut down to size. With over 7 Hovercorvettes torn up in the initial bombardment, the sailors soon kicked the Hovercorvettes into 65 knots, outrunning the enemy attacks. A few more vessels were hit by a luckily shell, successfully converting them into nothing but a fireball of debris. Another 6 BrahMos supersonic antishipping cruise missiles were fired upon the enemy Countermeasure’s ships. After the volley of missiles had been fired, Machine Guns opened up upon whatever enemy ship looked small and defenseless. Another Maldorian vessel was suddenly hit, yet this ship was struck in the engine, severely slowing the ship. It was essentially a sitting duck. Now was the time. 10 divers from each remaining Hovercorvette, making a total of 380 saboteur divers, soon dived into the bleak, dark waters. Swimming towards the huge ships, it would be hard to detect these men in the midst of the ensuring chaos. Once by the large-hulled ship, they would plant limpet mines vertically and then make a break for it.

Another 50 Audacious Class vessels raced from the port, firing the BrahMoS anti-shipping missiles. 5 vessels were soon hit and sunk by enemy air attacks. CIWS and Sea RAM launchers soon came to action, doing their best to destroy the oncoming missiles.

Skies over Cyprus

The JF-17’s, still a good distance away from the enemy fighters, fired another volley of PL-9’s before jumping into the dogfights. Those shrapnel missiles aren’t so good unless they detonate at close range. So, Alpha Leader came up with an idea.

“This is Alpha Leader to Hussein 2. Stay away from those fighers. Tell your wing to try their best to stay away. After firing a few volleys, pull back to coordinates 388,732,192”

And with that, the JF-17’s opened from upon the enemy aircraft from afar, sustaining quite a number of casualties. When Alpha Leader turned 360 degrees and headed northwards, the whole JF-17 escort group followed. They were vurnerable and yet more were hit from their 6 o’clock.

Cyprus

Most of the inland bombings had just massacred hundreds of farmers and sheep, yet a few stray bombs crippled a small civilian airport, killing two and destroying five aircraft. Near the coast, however, the casualties were much different. Nonetheless, active SAM sites fired volley after volley of missiles at the foreign invaders. Patriots left and right were torn up as men soon were incinerated. Sgt. Ulrich would soon find that out the way. After a quick check of the island defenses, Ulrich headed towards the main bunker of the island. Upon arriving at the bunker, the scene was too horrid to comprehend. The bunker was nothing but a flaming pile of wreckage and his aides who worked in that bunker were on the ground; their burnt corpses lying amidst the small town. After a few seconds of realization of damage, another bomb fell from the sky, right next to his position. Ulrich was incinerated in the blink of an eye.

In a surprising move, Maldorian vehicles on the shores quickly moved inland and spread out to reducde the area effect of the bombs. Idle soldiers pulled back into the mountains and hid in the underground bunkers. The mountains could severely negate the area effect of the cluster bombs and napalm. Civilians and wounded were quickly brought to nearby ports and airports to evacuate to mainland Maldorians.

MacKenzie listened as Wellington briefed him on the situation, including the mobilization of Naashan forces. "It looks like the Naashans are preparing to engage the Qadeshi forces," Wellington finished.

"I see." MacKenzie grimaced. The situation was starting to escalate, and the war was only a day old. While no strategist, the recent intelligence files delivered to him had made MacKenzie aware of the potential for damage - with SaintB now levying sanctions against Qadesh, there was a real possibility that the conflict could extend to much of east Nova Europa.

"General, do you have any recommendations? I realize we're not in a good position, militarily, but we can't just stand by and do nothing?"

"Naasha could probably handle Qadesh easily enough, assuming it's just this one engagement. I don't have enough data on Qadeshi forces to do a proper estimation if the fight turns into a land war.

"If we had to commit forces, I can probably mobilize two federal regiments. That's roughly 3,000 infantry, 150 tanks, and 36 artillery units. I doubt our air forces would be much use, and Admiral Everett can tell you what our naval strength is."

"He has. We'd likely be limited to a ground engagement, worst-case." MacKenzie came to a decision. "Have those two federal regiments on heightened alert; I'd like them ready to move within two days maximum. I'll see what diplomacy can do in the meantime."

When Wellington broke the connection, MacKenzie activated his intercom. "Samantha, do we have an embassy or any diplomatic channel with the nation of Qadesh?"

"Just a second, sir... No, nothing currently."

"Contact the foreign minister and get him working on setting up a link between us and the Qadeshi government. I'd like to be able to speak with their leadership within the hour if possible."

"Yes sir."

After that, MacKenzie turned to the phone once more, this time connecting to a special line. "Prime Minister Darren Renner, please. Tell him it's President William MacKenzie. Yes, I'll hold..."

"Sir, Qadesh is severely outclassed here. If our allies do not intervene soon, our fleet will be destroyed." General McAdy said. Edwards sat in his chair and thought for a second. "Remember that division of fighters we scrambled?" The General thought for a second, "Sir?" Edwards spoke softly, "Send them above the Waldenburg fleet, we might as well throw our lot with them. Make sure NO ONE detects our maneuvers."

With that the airborne division 6th ‘Aten’ Airborne Division, flew to meet its intended point.

Also, the fleet stemaing towards the Maldorian homelands came to a full stop, and deployed anti-shipping and anti-aircraft measures. The Expeditionary Commander spoke "Men, hold this position until reinforcement arrives!"

An airborne division will mean very little to us at the moment, a fleet moving at ten knots does not need an additional ten thousand men aboard. Return your men to where they were be more useful, on land. A squadron shall follow shortly, in the mean time press the attack on the fleet. See if you can not manage a fighting retreat, if that can be managed we should catch them in a pincer movement. Until then send your armies where they will be more useful.

Signed:
Vice Admiral Sir Terrance Opplant (OIH)

Above the skies of Cyprus the battle was still not ending the squadron was in complete shambles and isolated units were being wiped out left and right. All bombs were away, and though Commander Harker felt conflicted on leaving an enemy squadron at his back, but his fuel level were making it apparently obvious a retreat was necessary. He was content in knowing that the flames would spread and any major firefighting attempts could be wiped out by a Naval strike. Again conflicted over the fires he started he pulled his squadron as high as possible and headed home, the Patriots were more easy to detect and avoid by now and smoke and cloud cover were making things difficult.

The squadron as it was limped home, the fires would eventually consume the island, unless some miracle in weather or diplomacy changed the situation, the air squadron was damaged and the strike groups power limited, still they would make it home.

Waldnburger Battle Group First Spear, 250 KM’s of Maldorian Exclusion Zone:

“We have confirmed hit on the WIS Testament, it is sinking they request cover support craft.” The Bridge of the Arbiter had lit up orderlies rushed to Opplant’s chair, they were usually waved away or given only a moments attention before the admiral returned to his steaming cup. The world may be aflame around him, but it was merely tepid for him.

“The bastards are closing to machine gun range. Sir they must be mad! We have cannons, it’ll be a turkey shoot.” A midshipman yelled happily from his position next to the wheel.

“We begin to see the true stupidity of it, fire missiles at our countermeasures vessels, and machine gun our frigates and hydrofoils. Signal fleet, cruisers and frigates sink them, spare no one, that will be considerably easy if they believe they can approach us with machine guns. Also signal fleet three quarters speed forward, drive the hovercraft back, our fighters are coming in and we may just catch them in a favorable position.” The message went out, and the cruisers began to open fire, however tricky the hovercraft were to hit, they were at point blank range for the cannons, the Maldorian command must truly have been working on the principle of the fixed gun.

“Launch all remaining gunships cover the carriers and battleships.” Opplant smirked uncontrollably this was his finest hour, not for any brilliance on his part but for the insanity of the enemy. Torpedoing by, strafing his ships at sixty kilometers an hour, there was no hope for them.” The fleet pressed forward frigates, destroyers, and cruisers laying down cannon and machine gun fire. All the while the CIWS systems of the fleet were working overtime to intercept the missiles, the Countermeasures ships were very helpful but not essential. Almost every other ship, excluding the hydrofoils and submarines had at least one, bless those captains though, they saved many lives.

“Send the following to Cyprus:” Opplant snapped coldly, smirking again at his, possibly, imagined brilliance.

Sir, we outnumber you, your fleets will be ravaged in minutes, your island is ablaze and without coordinated firefighting attempts will continue to burn. I assure you any attempts you make will lead to a precision naval strike on your firemen, the island shall burn with our approval until you meet our demands. The island of Cyprus will surrender, all soldiers and civilians that wish to leave may do so, with their weapons, ships, aircraft and supplies. Within a very few hours we shall be in cannon range, and even now missile range, we have only held off from bombarding to give you this opportunity. All possessions that wish to leave Cyprus may do so, and those that wish to stay will have our assistance is fire fighting.

You have two hours to agree to my terms, very generous terms I may add, two hours before the fleet will commence bombardment of Cyprus, which shall make our first attempts seem the posturing of a child. All craft shall be given ten days after our agreement to withdraw, under our protection. They shall not be harmed, I give my word as an officer, a gentlemen and most importantly I swear it to you on the Holy Bible, on the blood of the Virgin, on the shard of the Cross. All those who leave within our specified timeframe shall be allowed to go free.

Hearing the message from Qaldenburg2, the Expedition Commander sighed. Things looked bad. With the Nasshan fleet in front of him he had only one move. "Full Speed ahead, but DO NOT fire." With that, the planes that had been flying over the Waldenburg fleet flew over head of the Expeditionary Force. They circled above the Nasshan ships, above their gun-range...not firing their weapons or bombs.

Admiral Grant laughed at the very idea of the Qadeshi request, it seemed their commander was a little inexperienced. He had failed to notice several key points, one was that pretty much every single plane he had was locked up in some Naashan radar, whether that was shipboard or on an F-46, and that the odds of hitting a ship with a bomb from circling, high altitude fighters before they were destroyed were minimal.

"This is foolish, you know the consequences that will occur if you start to fire. Withdraw now and your fleet will be unharmed."

Kampfers Stadt, Kampfers
In the office of the Fuhrer

Fuhrer Richtoff sat behind his desk. His mind was made up, and he knew what he would do, the issue would be how to go about it. The Waldeburgers were fighting a noble war against ferocious imperialists, and Kampfers would aid them. However, with the entry of Naasha on the side of the Mandalorians, it greatly affected the manner that Kampfers would enter. However, the message would be the same either way. Kampfers is bringing the hammer.

He sat down and typed out a message.

TO: Prime Minister Darren Renner of the Democratic State of Naasha
FROM: Fuhrer Richtoff

My quarrel is nt with you. Nor is my quarrel with your soldiers, your citizens, or anyone else in Nova Europa not named Maldorians. My quarrel is with them alone. For too long has their imperialism gone unchecked. Recently they have made threats to numerous nations, some of whom were allied to Kampfers. These nations were only threatened because they could not match the military of Maldorians. No nation with a comparable military to Maldorians was threatend. Not only does the Mandalore show brutal imperialism, but he also shows cowardice. As such, I respectfully ask you to withdraw from this conflict. There is no need for innocent lives to be spent between two nations where there is no bad blood between them. I can not desist from my current course of action, as it is my fate to protect my allies. However, you who have no binds to the nation you are defending, have the power to do as you will. It is with all respect that I ask you to remove yourself from this conflict. Believe you me, Kampfers will make it worth your while.

Sincerely,
Fuhrer Richtoff

Slowly he moved the mouse over and pressed send. Then he began to write out a new message, this one to Waldenburg.

TO:His Most Gracious Imeprial Majesty Wyatt von Waldenburg IV
FROM: Fuhrer Richtoff

I am writing you this message to inform you that we are soon to enter the war on your side. It may be some time before our troops arrive, but they will come eventually. The journey is a long one, but we are coming in force.

Sincerely,
Fuhrer Richtoff

As the Fuhrer pressed send, the war machine was cranking up simultaneously. Setting sail from the harbors outside of Kampfers Stadt was a massive fleet. They would arrive in Nova Europa in a day, and would hit Maldorians in two. Hopefully, the journey would be uneventful. It was the largest fleet ever assembled in Kampferian history, and it would do what it was made for.

Leaving port was:

1 × Europa-class BBCN (Batch 2) KS Richtoff
4 × Kingdom-class BBAN
24 × King Henry V-class BBGN
16 × Union-class CVBN
8× Hornby-class CVLN

236 × Bullfinch-class FFH
32 × Crocodile-class LCS
4 × Lord-class LHD
4 × Ungforth-class LPD
4 × Valley-class LSD

Heading up the fleet was Fleet Admiral James Gearing, who also commanded the naval forces during the engagement with Undershi. He would love nothing more than giving these people what they deserved.

With the backing of its ally, the Qadeshi fleet stopped, turned around and steamed for home. The planes circling high above the Nassshan fleet flew west and away from their ships.

Message to the Naashans

We are withdrawing from battle with you. Please advise.

With that, the ships turned around and headed for home, fighters and bombers in toe. They would return to Qadeshi waters to refit and refuel. They would be awaiting commands from the Dictator. They would not move again until the situation has been better assessed.

With the entry of The Glorious Empire into the Corporate Alliance, the nation had been mobilizing for a most noble war. Looking for somewhere to show her might, The Glorious Empire had found Maldorians, a member of the CA, under a grand attack. Not long after hearing the news of the war, King George the V assembled with Mavil Whetherly, the Foreign Spokesman of The Glorious Empire.

"You may come in Mavil." After a few seconds, Mr. Whetherly scanned the room for an open chair and grabbed the one opposite to King George the V. "Our ally Maldorians is under attack. It seems that Waldenberg 2 has initiated the attack. Qadesh and Kampfers are following en suite. Mr. Whetherly, Maldorians would be massarced without our help. Let me also add that they are in the GIA alongside us."

Taking in the information, Mavil hesitantly nodded. "I will write up something to the aggressors demanding the halt of military actions. If they refuse, well, the rest is history." And then with a small chuckle, Mr. Whetherly left the office.

Imperial Message To All Aggressive Parties

By the name of the Glorious Empire, I demand this ruckus to come to a halt. We will warn you once, stop this aggressiveness. If you accept, a diplomatic meeting will be in action. If you choose to not accept, we will have nothing to do but to defend our CA/GIA brother. You have been warned.

Prime Minister Renner frowned as he read the message from the Fuhrer, it had never been his intention to get involved in the Waldenburg-Maldorians war yet the situation was escalating out of control. While it would be hard to characterize the Maldorians as model citizens in the international community, our sentiments do reflect yours for the most part.

Our nation already made a public statement warning involved parties not to spread their war to other Nova Europa nations. If our warning is ignored, we have no qualms about destroying the forces of the offending nation. More aptly put, you can count on our assistance if anyone attempts to set foot on your soil without your consent.

However, we still have too many reservations about Maldorians to officially back them in any capacity. Their nation has a history of too much aggression for us to assume they have good intentions in our region. Perhaps our concerns would be diminished if they were to agree to a few non-aggression pacts.

Emergency Legislature Session

Resolution For Vote:
To provide diplomatic, humanitarian, and military aid to the Democratic State of Naasha in the event the Maldorian-Waldenberg war expands to Naashan territory.

MacKenzie spoke at length to the legislature, reminding them of the Naashan's own sacrifices in ending Harrington's regime, and giving assurances that Trivalvia would not further weaken itself in such a conflict. But, of course, there was opposition.

"The Member of Legislature for Flydale-West is recognized."

The ML in question was a Statist-Conservative. He stood and addressed the assembled members. "Mr. Speaker, I would like to ask both our President and Defense Minister just how prepared are we to get involved in a war?"

MacKenzie deferred to the Defense Minister, who, when recognized by the Speaker, stood and replied: "While we are not in a position to engage an enemy nation one-on-one, we can certainly provide a small force for a supporting role. We already have two federal regiments at a state of heightened alert, and ready to mobilize within two days, if necessary."

ML-Flydale-West spoke again, "And would the Defense Minister care to state if our forces can repel a retaliatory attack on our own soil for getting involved? I submit that our own forces are still recovering from the civil war we suffered, and any involvement in a foreign war, even a supporting role, as the Defense Minister assures us we can undertake, will weaken us considerably.

"I empathize with the Naashans and I am grateful for their intervention. But good intentions alone cannot garuntee victory. I must ask that the Members vote against the resolution." Thumps and "hear-hear" from his fellow S-Cs as he sat down.

MacKenzie was recognized by the speaker, and he stood.

"The concerns from the ML for Flydale-West are valid ones, I agree. However, we will not be alone in this venture. There are already signs that the World Soviet Party will also support Naasha should its borders be threatened. Our involvement may be little more than symbolic, but even a tiny force can help win a war.

"Further, I remind the Members that the resolution calls for diplomatic and humanitarian support, in addition to military. It will be up to this government to determine what options we will exercise and when."

There were other arguments but after thirty minutes of debate, the Speaker called for a vote. The vote was 540 in favour, 235 against, 49 abstensions.

Trivalvia now had a green light to become involved.

But it is not to us for whom you should look on charges of aggression, we are not the first nations to condemn the Maldorians for their aggressiveness. There have been separate occurrences of Maldorian brutality, and intervention in no less then three country’s affairs in the last week. A ruckus must be made or it shall unfortunately be swept under the rug.

As we believe a persuasive people, of intelligence and fortitude will not simply dive into conflict on the strings of alliance loyalty? While a most venerable trait, blind loyalty can only lead to blindness. All we ask of you is that the details of this campaign be studied before any actions are made, and appropriate venues followed. Though I do not myself tread the halls of the Corporate Alliance, if I, in my base intellect make an attempt at defining that alliance. I believe that its foundations are built upon the purpose of those who help themselves. Consider this when taking action, as losing battles in usually not considered helpful.

Signed:
His Most Gracious Imperial Majesty Wyatt von Waldenburg IV

Thousis finished the letter, it was hand written always a sentimental touch when writing foreign leaders, a act of companionship, the very literal Emperor’s club. To the Cardinal alone in his bastion of a home, the war progressed well, so far no one shouted about the use of chemical weapons, something that seemed out of place with the crowd who had descended talons out clenched into the war.

“Bendon!” The cardinal shouted while stomping the floor, his personal secretary was quite dull but could file like a four-armed ape, so was kept on the payroll.

“Your imminence,” a slim robed figure appeared and bowed slightly, his eyes never focusing on the cardinal.

“Take this letter to be posted. Eh Bendon Posted?”

“Yes your imminence. This has also just arrived for you, directly from Vice Admiral Opplant.

“Thank you,” the two men stood eyeing each other before the Cardinal realized whom he was talking to. “You are dismissed.” The two men exchange the usual courtly poses of benefaction and grovel, it came as naturally to them as breathing. It was a beautiful day, perhaps the cardinal could go frighten novices down in the gardens.

His staff clicking on the ground signaled any non senile member of the Church hierarchy to scramble out of the way, any who were left behind usually ran into the Cardinal with their wheelchairs said “pardon me miss” and in geriatric good humor wheeled off. It was to much difficulty trying to explain the error so the Cardinal contented himself with walking, it truly was a good day, a warm wind blew off the desert and the sun shone pleasantly enough.

“Your Highness wait!” The Cardinal called cheerily. Still the boy flinched as he quickly scrabbled with his clothing and made shooing motions with the other hand. He rushed out from behind a set of shrubs, red in the face, his hands smoothing own his jacket.

“Your Imminence I was certainly not expecting you here, what do I do to merit your company?”

‘No you didn’t.’ “I was merely walking an urge that has obviously taken you as well?”

“Um yes. Just enjoying the roses as they say, is there anything with you witch you wish to speak with me on?”

“Not specifically but this letter did just arrive something that requires your attention. It seems that Maldorians are in fact Islamic? Imagine the surprise on my face when I found that out. I see you are equally surprised or is that excitement?” The cardinal studied the boys face with careful good naturedness, “I require you to round up all Maldorians, black white anything, and any foreigner looking,” he sniffed, “tan. Take two brigades of the Divine Legion and Purge the city of them, diplomatic immunity be hanged. Do you understand?”

The young Prince looked sick, his hand flew to his mouth, and flew off more quickly. “Perhaps my brothers would be better suited for the command, I am hardly sixteen.”

“Exactly it’s time to make a man of you. Round them all up and bring them to the Cathedral for processing, we shall see if their prophets saves them, when they are being feed their own intestines. Perhaps Mohammad does not have the stomach for that,” the Cardinal achieved that sly look, found on every man’s face before something amusing no matter their station no matter their rank, “Of course our guests won’t have the stomach either.”

“Yes your imminence I leave tonight with your blessing?”

“Quite, go with God my son, perform thy holy works. Also pass along the following orders, the entire. Imperial fleet is to be brought on line, for spiritual defense I can feel something on the wind.” The young man saluted and walked away a bit to hunchedly for a normal man. The wind blew, it blew sand, and the adding words of dead Gods. This was Waldenburg, and the world would soon know it’s resolve.

Cyrpus

The dogfight had come to a resounding halt. The JF-17's had left the area as well as the enemy aircraft. All that was left was the unrhythmic Zhoom of missiles rocking off the Patriot batteries, hoping for a few of those fleeing aircraft.

With the second attack on Cyprus came more casualties and demolished military vehicles. The soldiers, however, took far less casualties, mainly due to the fact that they stayed hidden among the huge mountains of Cyprus. With the last Patriot missile launch, everything, military and civlian alike, were quickly sent to the mountains, under the cover of a few anti-aircraft guns. They would do little if enemy aircraft came, yet rather they would serve as an early warning system for the retreating group on the island.

Ocean Waters

With more casualties concerning the hovercorvettes, came another 50 Audacious Class. These attacks would not stop coming. They would keep coming until the Waldenberg fleet had been sunk. RIM launchers and CIWS systems worked feveriously trying to take down some enemy planes with them. Antishipping missiles were being launched at the countermeasures ships, once again. Machine Guns would hit whatever looked small to them. Going in at 60 knots, it would be hard to take those ships down. Sadly, the ones hit soon exploded into a fiery ball. Men tried jumping out but were soon burnt up as the drivers feriously tried to bail out into the water. The Audacious Class ships were getting hit hard, but they were doing the job.

With the first wave of sabetour divers already in the water, it would not be long to reach the big ships. They took advantage of the ensuring chaos and used it wisely. With the enemy fleet preoccupied amongst the hovercorvettes, the divers would go in for the kill.

You must take us as fools, or worse! We will not bow down to your needs. Even as we speak, the wounded which were struck down by your bombs are leaving the island to the mainland. Why should we be scared when we are successfully stalling your attack? We will never bow down to your requests. Good day, Mr. Perriwinkle.

His Majesty the King has received your most, interesting of replies with a sadness not sees since the war with the despots of Automagfreek and Pantera. Your latest communication, seems to imply that His Majesties government is inept at gathering data and runs foolhardy into conflict. We obviously take insult at your rather ignorant stance towards the world’s largest and most efficient civil service. However, you will be glad to know that his majesty has heard your petitions and deemed them worthy of no attention. It is not for foreign powers to dictate the policy of the Empire, and as such, we will continue to seek that you stand down. A Diplomatic resource can be obtained, however, the Mandalorians are within the Protectorate sphere of the empire, and we would be negligent if we did not rise to defend our territory if only by proxy. His Majesty also accepts that your nation is not a part of the Corporate Alliance perhaps, because you are not worthy, but even he, who is so infrequently vague admits that is only speculation on his part. We have considered your reply with the most learned focus and have decided upon the following.

1) Further Aggressive action will result in a state of war.
2) Diplomatic negotiations, with the Empire as mediator will be carried out.
3)We are so gratified that you point out losing battles is not considered helpful. May we point out that losing ones Sovereignty is considered even worse.
4)The Corporate Alliance is not for you to define. And of course, it is up to his majesty to dictate the empires foreign policy

We continue to keep our armed forces at a slight state of readiness. Though we are hopeful that you will stand down and see, Imperial, British reasoning and logic.

Waldenburger Battle Group First Spear, 150 KM’s Outside
“Persistent little buggers aren’t they.” Battle raged around the fleet, it was a constant battle, it seemed as though the hovercraft could only launch a few missiles at a time, though they could never pin down the number of craft or missiles the fleet’s countermeasures were sizeable. It seemed as though Waldenburg outnumbered the craft, the missiles were not getting through, although the guns were working overtime. A destroyer had been holed when it strayed to far forward, it’s crew machine gunned by a passing Maldorian craft.

“This is suicidal.” The bridge crew nodded half chuckling half somber, a fleet this size would not be broken with corvettes. However pointless the attack on the ships was Waldenburger aircraft, and in more numbers, gunships were being swatted out of the sky. Entire ship’s complements of Ospreys were being whipped out of the sky with vicious efficiency.

“Admiral the Maldorians have sent their reply. Um it says no. Although they mention wounded being taken away from the island sir…” The ensign saluted and entered into the status of every crewmen in Opplant’s opinion, either plotting mutiny or sodomy.

“I must be a prophet, have I seen the future,” the Admiral stood, his chair was being shook constantly by the roar of the naval guns. His comment received a dutiful laugh from the more anxious crew, the ships were to close for comfort. Though the missiles were hardly making it through, and when they did it was an odd event, ramming action was looming on the horizon and it did not bode well, if a few enemies broke the outer barrier and headed for the more important vessels within.

“You mentioned wounded?” The Admiral took fiddled with a war medal, it had not in fact been for combat, Waldenburg was short of wars, but for organization of the fleet. “I submit we begin our bombardment then, our AGM-86’s should be able to nail the ships leaving port nearly anywhere on the island. Targeting could be difficult but finding a port city shouldn’t be, arrange it. Find some additional targets inland, preferably airfields if it can be managed, but if not any old place, I believe we have some date from our air raids. Coordinate with them.” Radios were now being used, in code of course, but any essence of surprise had been abandoned. Three hundred AGM’s were launch within a few minutes, if enough made it through the enemy fleet, then perhaps enough could make it through the ground defenses the battle could be won. Such was Imperial logic.

“Continue the advance. And can someone find a competent gunner, we are being assaulted by hovercraft!”

Diplomatic Message From: His Imminence Harold the Cardinal Thousis Cenobiarch of the Holy Waldenburger Church
To: His Excellency Mavil Whetherly

We intended no disrespect by our previous letter, but we doubt that all details have been collated by your government. In any case this does not seem to effect our talks, as it seems you are prepared for neither talks or evidence. The Most Divine and Illustrious Empire of Waldenburgers will not back down from this confrontation, it cannot and will not consider abandoning the little nations that have been threatened by the posturing of overinflated, delusional tyrants from their palaces of crystal.

Though we have never considered the Corporate Alliance, in any terms up till now perhaps His Majesties Home, and Intelligence offices should attempt delve into history, if you preach against aggression you are in the wrong pulpit. I would imagine that if His Majesties government spent more time on the escalation and building of archives, instead of puffing it's chest and drumming the government to war there would be a considerable amount of progress for your backwards state.

It is customary for any Clergymen to end a letter with a burst of brimstone, the intended wrath of a God still silent. I shall not do so, it does so make it difficult to read over dinner. But I shall say this, Waldenburg is an Empire of the soul, and it will never be conquered. As long as there is a sky, a history a saint, a Martyr, an Archangel and man's Consciousness no conquerer shall ever rule us, no tyrant ever enslave us. It is something I doubt you would understand but our anxious fears will blow away and all that will be left is the Great God. I bid his Majesty, and his family, the entire Empire upon which animosity has separated us from. I bid them all sweetest of dreams, for someday when they are to weak, to infirmed with the rigors of age, God shall come and judge you, and you shall be found lacking. The demons themselves shall come for you, and we shall weep for you, all of you.

We have commissioned our first fleet to depart ASAP and assist you in securing the South-east Nova Europan seas from possible aggressors, our intelligence indicates that several nations have already shown interest in "intervening" in this conflict.

We must not allow this to happen, because you'll agree with me in thinking that it will only help to destabilize and weaken the region as a whole.

I expect your answer.

Official International Siriusan Announcement

The Principality of Siriusa wishes to remain fairly neutral in this struggle. However, due to the proximity of the Empire of the Maldorians we find that it is necessary to make sure our nation and people remain secure.

As such, no military ships belonging to any nations other than those in the Nova Europa Alliance are permitted within 150 miles of mainland Siriusa. Any warships crossing thr boundary will be either escorted out of Siriusan waters or they will be promptly sunk.

Passenger, merchant, etc. ships of nonmilitary nature (cargo ships carrying military supplies do not count) are permitted within the area, but only from nations with good standings with Siriusa. However, any such ships from hostile nations will face the same decision as the military ships: either turn around or be sunk.

Any aircraft other than commercial flying over mainland Siriusa, within 50 miles of the mainland, or over any large Siriusan fleets within the 150-mile no-go-zone will be either escorted out of the area or shot down (with the exception of NEA planes).

Unfortunately for many particiipating in this war, the Strait of Gibraltar lies directly south of Siriusa and is a mere eight miles wide at its narrowest point. Thus, military ovement by sea must be halted. Further goings back and forth with war vessels so close to our dear nation will cannot and not be tolerated. We will kindly request that nations steer clear of our southern border.

But we are not without reason. If there is a legitimate reason as to why a naval vessel must proceed through the Strait, it may be allowed if the foreign government contacts that of Siriusa.

Our rules are not complex nor difficult by which to abide. We expect them to be followed. Resistance to them will be taken as an act of war.

Official Diplomatic Responses

To: Alejandro Aszenmil, President of The World Soviet Party,
Jacob L. Sirius, Royal Prince of Siriusa,
Dartian President Allesandro Valerio,
President MacKenzie of Trivalvia.

From: Prime Minister Darren Renner of the Democratic State of Naasha

I agree with the concerns raised by Dartia that the Maldorians are not the easisest neighbour to live with and their aggressive actions in the past cannot be ignored. However, given a choice, I would far rather stand by the evil I know than those that I don't, and the benefits of having a Corporate Alliance influence in the region may well be useful in times to come.

I agree that perhaps non-aggression pacts may be useful in the future, but I don't see any Maldorian aggression against Nova Europan nations occuring any time soon.

I would like to thank all of you for your support, and for putting the safety and stability of the region first. I find the closure of the Gibraltar Strait by Siriusa particularly to be a step in the right direction, although I think provisions must be made to allow Waldenburg's fleet to exit when the time comes.

I will be putting all Naashan forces, save naval strategic rocket units, on standby for the remainder of the crisis and will be deploying naval units around the mediterranean as a deterrent for further intervention in the conflict. I will not be engaging Waldenburg at this time, however.

The Naashan 3rd Carrier Group will be deployed to the strait of Gibraltar area, if Siriusa consents, in order to deter potential attempts to force passage through. I will leave the deployment of the TWSP fleet to up to President Aszenmil, although Naashan ports and logistics ships and facilities will be made available to it.

I hope that the strong stance taken by the region will be enough to deter further fanning of the flames of this crisis.

Sincerely,
Prime Minister Darren Renner.

OOC I must say now that perhaps I am a tad confused. Is in not essential for there to be an Africa for their to be a Strait of Gibraltar ? On all maps provided there doesn't seem to be an Africa. I must say the only reason I did not Rp coming through a Strait (Suez also) was that I was unaware Nova Europe included Africa.

OOC: Concerning the diver guys, a magnetic mine links to the side of the ship. The diver swims away while its internal timer ticks and then the mine sets off. BAM. The British tried something like this to kill the Bismarck. Limpet mines are what they are using. Usually they are set off by a time fuse. They may also have an anti-removal system making it explode if the mine is torn off by enemy divers or by other explosions. Sometimes the limpet mine had a small propeller which would detonate when the ship has sailed a certain distance. This ensures that the ship was likely to sink in deep water out of reach of easy salvage and makes it harder to determine the reason for the sinking.

St. Michael’s Cathedral, Blünderburg

“Your imminence,” the Cenobiarch’s office was full, an entirety variety of officers, from the hemispherical to the gaunt, all of them though were covered in dirt and sweat. “We have rounded up nearly a thousand, Ummm…Undesirables, they await your attentions.” The young Prince, Andre had performed his duty well apparently, you could easily see the fires from the picture window.

“How many do you think are actually Maldorians, just between you and I?” The Cenobiarch asked calmly without looking up from a stack of papers on his matchstick desk.

“Confidentially perhaps three dozen, possibly less, we have very little way of telling, and usually they don’t speak to us, at the time of their detainment. Though we did find Islamic idols at several sights, and other evidence, their little knick-knacks and so forth. Also reporting a loss of thirty-seven men wounded, three missing presumed KIA.”

“Yes, fine them you and your men are relieved, hand the prisoners over to the Dark Guard we shall see if ‘knick knacks’” the quotes could be heard in the Cenobiarch’s voice, “Well done your actions are certainly worthy of note Go with God.”

“Open Now the Blazing Furnace From in Whence Sinners Call!
Let the Fire and Glowing Poker Purify us One and All!
Horus Deus, Horus Deus, Paltominay
Be forever our strength and Shield!”

Baritone monks were one of the major exports of the Empire, but no matter how many you sent away to bash heathens there were always enough at home to continue the great work.

“You, Amanda Ann Remny, have been sentenced to death by the Council of Bishops for crimes against the Holy Church, including but no limited to blasphemy, homosexuality and heresy by thought. Being a women in these circumstances, anything you could possibly say will be a lie, or as it may be deceitful in nature. To that extent to have been sentenced to death by torture with appeal or defense, however you are subject to parole after your sentence is served.” The Archdeacon’s voice had become raspy, it was nearly the hundredth death penalty today. However, conceding at least a little clause to the justice system, all those subject to the death penalty were automatically put up for probation, in a very basic sense this worked perfectly.

“May God embrace you to his loving arms, we are the servants of light and through our ministrations the Hells shall be but a short span before you may rest in the loving arms of God. Rejoice and be enlightened.” Two burly men grabbed the woman by the arms. She had been silent up till now, the rigors of the ministrations of the military police had quite been enough to keep her silent the night before, but now she began to scream.

Dark Guards, Inquisitorial Guards hauled her to a pole and tied her in place, others were being burned, some singing hymns, others screaming others merely smiling. The entire square was full of cameras and talk show hosts, and behind a barricade several thousand cheering Waldenburgers. She was to be skinned alive, her ears eyes and nose removed, then splashed with whatever substance the crowd could lay hands on, usually salt or sand. The women, and others like her would not die of pain but eventually of starvation and thirst, they would be kept alive for days on the poles, for the world to watch.

Such was the will of God, Arbiter of Worlds, Judge of Souls.
And So it Was on Earth.

85 KM’s of Maldorian Exclusion Zone:

Vienna Blood played over the WIS Arbiter's internal speakers, it was hardly the orchestration, more a waltz then the battle hymn of the fiery battle raging around the ships. Opplant tapped his foot with apparent merriment occasionally noting a explosion on the water, some of them were his own ships. Casualties were becoming more common after one of the Countermeasures ships had taken a missile. An entire flank of the battle group had been left exposed and, the enemy had already been there, two cruisers had been damaged within seconds and hydrofoils were being picked off like gnats. A loud metallic thud interrupted the waltz, shaking the tremulous song. It was only a second and hardly bothered the bridge crew, the enemy however many Waldenburger ships they could sink would run out first, and the Gripen’s would return within a few minutes.

Cyprus was even closer now, flames licking up from it, smoke cascaded over the island and blew around the approaching naval melee. The Arbiter gave a shudder and suddenly the ship, the deck the water itself was on fire. Huge bouts of flame erupted from the starboard side of the ship which naturally veered as the helmsmen, who had only kept his nerve with Opplant at the helm through about a dozen cups of coffee, swung left away from the damage. A hydrofoil, unlucky enough to be port of the Carrier was crumpled under the massive hull, it’s crew crushed to death within seconds of contact.

“Captain?” The Admiral still tapped his foot in time to the music when it could be heard over the claxons.

“Sir…We are reporting massive damage in starboard side, in sections 21, 22, and 23, all report massive flooding. We are leaking jet fuel, and the barracks will soon be underwater.”

“Hmmm I thought 21 was the pantry. Still can’t just sit around, evacuate all those you can and seal the areas. We’ll lose speed but, I don’t think an massive flaming island will disappear with a few minutes eh Captain?”

“No sir, but we are also receiving similar reports of damage from the WIS Harbinger, Hierophant, St. Peter, and the Margrave Imperial. It seems they were either torpedoed or mined.”

“It’s hardly likely we are in a minefield so quickly, and so far out. It looks as if those hovercraft have torpedoes anyway, wouldn’t put it past the sneaky bastards.” The Admiral held up his finger for silence, it was the crescendo, the grand finale of the waltz, the piece the defined the composure. “The Gripen’s will be back momentarily, they will be out of rockets mostly but are still well supplied in the arena of cannons. Yes? If three hundred attack craft do not force a retreat on their part I will personally eat the WIS Magnitude.”

“That’s as may be sir, however there is one small thing I must divert your attention too before you relax your belt, the WIS Margrave Imperial is taking water in the reactor room.”

“Yes and? Have them shut it down.”

“Sorry sir both reactor rooms. They obviously can’t spin down on both, while they have auxiliary power the engines could only max about six knots. IF they allow them to run the pressure will eventually build up and break the coolant coils, causing nuclear meltdown.”

Terrance Opplant spun his chair a bit on the bearing, it would never turn all the way, if he made it back he would have some words with the craftsmen. “Run it hot and run it fast. Take the Imperial right into Cyprus, reactors at full the increased water pressure will snap the coolant lines, and compress the rods in time. Nuclear meltdown without firing a shot.”

“Sir I protest! There are still planes on the ship and men they,”

“Quite right. Have their flight crew transferred to the WIS Ardent, and the WIS Ark of Heaven, good thinking captain.” Opplant himself sent the message, the crew would be oblivious, the Captain, as usual was a die-hard fanatic and was more then happy to ram his carrier into the island. The explosion itself wouldn’t be much, but the radiation would certainly kill a few thousand. The Margrave Imperial began jettisoning cargo and picking up speed, the fleet would break off in time, but right now they were sprinting towards the end.

Casualties:
2X Nimitz Carriers Light-Moderate Damage
1X Wasp Assualt Ship Heavy Damage
1X Montana Class Battleship Light Damage
2X Virginia Class Cruisers Sunk
2X Type 42 Destroyers Sunk
1X Ohio Submarine Lost
4X Milgem Corvettes Lost
19X Hydrofoils Lost
13X Gripens Lost
1X V-22 Osprey Lost

OOC Not really this is only the effect of Chernyobal (SP?) but slightly more concentrated. It will probably not kill many enemies but it will sicken them enough to make a landing (After a few hours of bombardment) exponentially easier. Mostly it is a way to allow Mal to really turn afore said media against me, more then being a feasible military strategy.

We understand your request. However, as we are sure you understand, we are hesitant to give out permission to just anybody. However, are our neighbor and you have remained neutral in the conflict and it does not appear that you are an immediate threat or will likely become one in the future. Encrypted Message From: Harold the Cardinal Thousis
To: The The Right Reverend George Claxton, Archbishop

Your grace your organization are a godsend, a light in this ever darkening world, and from this point on if you should ever need assistance we shall reciprocate accordingly at your call. We shall set aside living quarters for your men, it shall be difficult to host them all in normal military quarters. To that extent a majority of your men must either be housed in the Cathedral of St. Micheal or the private Manors of the senior Clergy. We assure you these are usually the quarters of our most venerable holy men, who because of the war have been posted to duties elsewhere, or the volunteered this small service to the Holy Church.

Members of the Divine Legion shall be stationed on all air terminals, we ask your men to signal themselves with the phrase "Jubilate Deo" so they may be directed to their barracks.

It is certain all will go well in that stage, however we must discuss military targets. A coalition of united nations has already struck many Maldorian colonies. However that alliance was similarly Imperially minded and they are quite content to sit on their laurels. Our fleets have begin preliminary operations, against the Maldorian homeland however have yet to make vast headway. The most effective strategy that we can put together at the moment is for League soldiers to insert themselves into the Maldorian homeland and disrupt their war effort. Based on the comments of Lord Sumguy this is most likely a strategy that will be effective based on the League's talents. If you Grace had a different plan of action though we should most like of hear it.

On the matter of payment I believe that the Hegemon relayed our suggestions, but we wish to reiterate that we are content in any action, or gift that benefits both our goals.

OOC: Crap. this fleet ORBAT is on the other computer. When I go on it, I'll post it. This is a short post, mmmkay!?!?!?!? : ( I won't be posting casualties for a while. Don't worry. I am keeping track.

The small fighting among the hovercorvettes had continued unprecedented for awhile with groups of 50 of these corvettes popping out from the horzion, filling in the spots of their fallen comrades. Now was the time. The Soviet built fleet, Mandaloria's Glory it would be called, valiantly sailed towards the infidels. The new officer in charge, Admiral Phoenix, was an eager young lad. Traveling in the Peter the Great Class Battleship, he could see much of the fleet. The fleet contained a little of everything, ranging from submarines, all the way to a super carrier. They were to cross the T in the Waldenberg fleet. This would give the Maldorian fleet a chance to hit them will all of their guns, while they could only fire with their frontal cannons. It was a perfect move.

"How long until we are in position?" sighed the Admiral. He wanted action and he wanted it now.

"Soon, sir, soon..."

The initial attack would begin with cannon and missile fire upon the countermeasures ships...

One of the first shells fired from the Maldorian battle group skimmed a counter measure ship, and blew a ten meter chunk out of the hull. Two missiles fired from the swarming corvettes too advantage in the beak to leave the smoking hull of the ship, and blackening the deck in a intense firestorm.

“Admiral sir,” the communications ensign pointed vaguely at a screen where occasionally a little bar would sweep out the dots.

“I thought we had that little swirly thing replaced?” Oppalant answered back dryly turning out the window where the advancing fleet was to be approaching.

“It was on the invoice sir but it was sort of passed over, contractors sir.”

“They were flogged I imagine?”

“Most people are sir.”

“Quite so. But apparently we have bigger issues,” he snorted in absolute contempt of the enemy fleet. It was absolutely laughable what the Maldorians were mounting as a defense, corvettes and this. It could possibly cope, couldn’t hope to manage against the First Spear.

“They approach us at a sprint , and without turning to broadside. We do the world a favor by killing the fools. Order all capital ships besides the Virginia’s to give them a volley, target the carriers especially.” Heliographs had become completely obsolete now, the sea the sky were all burning twinkly little lights would not be seen over the burst of explosions and burning Cyprus. The gun emplacements on the battleship began to turn in unison, lining the huge twenty inchers up with the approaching fleets.

“All ships fire.” Unlike most commanders the admiral put no fire, no brimstone into the word, it was simply a statement of fact. There would be fire, and behold there was. First the cannons of the massive Iowa and Montana Class began to open up, thundering huge shells out into the near dawn sky. The Kirov Class battlecruisers began a. staccato report of 130 mm QF guns. A few Virginas ignoring orders opened up as well adding a constant rhythm to the battle. Once the Battleships had finished their first volley, the missiles began, every ship in the fleet that wasn’t battling against the Corvettes or large enough to spare the men began to fire a staggered volley of cruise missiles. At any given time 160 could be in the air, streaking out for the advancing battlefleet. The sky was kept full of missiles as the Kirov classes emptied a night of frustration out onto the enemy fleet.

For each Maldorian surface vessel there were eight missiles fired, in stream produced as fast as the fleet could pump them out. Shells and missiles lit the decks of the Waldenburger ships in a brilliant blaze of white then blackness imprinting the vision of the First Spear into the sailor’s eyes.

“No tricks here. This is where the metal meets the meat. Deus Palma.” Opplant whispered out of his bridge,. The muzzle flames of the battleships illuminating the admiral and his crew in a flickering light show, casting the their shadows with varying forms against the back wall. To all but the most avid music haters the ship board speakers had been merely a background hum to the battle, but now they played Agnus Dei, one soprano voice’s lamenting the death of the Maldorians, lamenting the whole war.

Still one soprano is not enough to convince the military and Opplant silently tapped the communications ensign on the shoulder signaling that, the Ohio attack submarines should form an exclusion zone, and break for the Maldorian carriers.

“Prepare for air action. And continue firing, a bigger club does not assure victory.”

Casualties:
1X Counter Measures Ship Lost
1X Kirov Battlecruiser Lost
4X Hydrofoils Lost

On your move I misunderstood, I thought you meant approaching in a T formation, where it is really a crossing the T move. Okay on that.

The only problem is with my positioning:

"Should cover us from missile fire from the juxtaposed bay."
A Commodore stated in the first post, which implies I attack a bay. And coming from the Suez canal (Which may or may not exist according to different maps I have of Nova Europa) or Gibralter. Either way we'd both be broadsiding each other now it these positions.

Also as reference the bay I refer to is the left half of the bordering water around the peninsula on the south on Cyprus

With the battleships, cruisers, and destroyers harassing the Waldenberg fleet, the three super carriers stayed behind them, launching hundreds of aircraft in the air. A few of them, Su-33’s and Su-25’s, quickly flew over the Soviet fleet, towards the Waldenberg vessels. Once in range, they would drop bombs and tear up whatever kind of aircraft was coming towards them.

The larger ships like the battleships fired from one position, while the more versatile ships such as the destroyers and the hover corvettes attempted to hit the ships in the sides or the rear. The destroyers were armed with deck cannons, torpedo tubes, anti-aircraft defense, and heavy machine guns. These ships focused on the counter measures ships, as did the aircraft and the cruisers.

Command Bridge, MNS Fright

“What’s the situation?” the Head Admiral questioned, atop the Command Bridge of the Peter the Great Class Battleship. Renamed the MNS Fright, this was the largest ship in the Soviet Fleet.

“Nothing yet. We have engaged the enemy, but as a result lost a few destroyers and cruisers. Nothing major, though. Our hover corvettes are also peppering them with gunfire. I believe the idea is to draw fire and then have them split their targets up between our fleet and those small ships.”

“Good, good. Tell all ship admirals to redirect all firepower to the countermeasures ships. Have the subs hit their big ships. If their submarines, however, get close to us, we will know. Those SONAR buoys are gonna give us a grand advantage.”

OOC Mein Gott! Sorry I stopped receiving emails for this since awhile, and school of course. This will be edited into an IC post.
Whatever happens, win or lose I'd need Opplant to survive, everyone needs a good bumbling officer.

OOC …Maybe something a little more dynamic but yeah pretty much.

With a anticlimactic sigh and a slight burble the last countermeasure (I think that is six? ship slid beneath the waves. The last countermeasure ship that was still capable of putting up what could laughingly be called a fight at any rate. Hopefully by now though the Maldorians would have extended their supply of cruise missiles. Opplant doubted it as he scanned his fleet which was becoming more separated and much smaller, through the machinations of his opposed admiral.

Sunlight had begun to sparkle of the hulls of his vessels; some of the rear guard had reported a sea of bodies, and floating scrap and waste dragging behind the fleet for miles. In this early morning, Opplant could begin to see that this battle was over, it seemed no matter how many engagements the Maldorians were in elsewhere; Waldenburg could not put a large enough fleet up. By a lose estimation nearly 50,000 were scattered behind the fleet, slowly being dragged down to the crushing depths.

“Sir we have multiple radar pings, the carriers are putting out fighters.” His deck crew had again gone silent, they seemed to be on the verge of saying “I told you so.”

Opplant who had gained ten years in one night hazily scratched his chin and stared through sleepy eyes, “How are we from shore?”

“About five miles now sir, everything ahead is burnt to cinders, Margrave Imperial’s out of targets there.” The ensign belted it out quickly with nearly a bit of insubordination in his voice.

“We have planes in the air?”

“No sir, those that had been on call had to put down, out of fuel. Of course the Gripen is an easily fueled plane especially with the new ratio of service crew to planes. However with the loss of our carrier groups, the countermeasures ships and most of the destroyers we can’t really manage to continue the attack. We could probably escape if we are prepared to loss the smaller ships of the fleet, then however we will come under submarine attack.” More was cut off as enemies’ cruiser shell skimmed the deck of a Wasp Assault ship removing a very large chunk of flight deck and lighting the WIS Reaper into a blazing inferno. Jet fuel began to leak out and catch in the water, blossoming out in a chrysanthemum pattern.

With a collapse akin to that of falling Empires the admiral sunk back into his chair, casting longing glances out the front window. So close, the First Spear of God about to lance the boil of Heresy, criminality and tyranny wiped down in one glorious hour. Every officer experiences a moment of faded glory, of dusty braid and stained uniform, unfortunately for Opplant it was while still in service. “Prepare to hoist the colors, cease fire all batteries. Heliograph the following to the Margrave Imperial, then have it broadcast on an open frequency.” His crew looked astonished but thankful, they had heard stories of what Muslims did to their prisoners but perhaps it was not worse then what Christians did to one another. Guns across the fleet fell silent and crew were shifted from offensive to defensive posts as was available.

The Following Message was broadcast on an open channel:

“This is Vice Admiral Robert Perriwinkle of the WIS Margrave Imperial. As you are undoubtedly aware we have ceased fire, our hostile intents are at an end. The First Spear would like to discuss terms of surrender, or at least for this to be carried out in the way of gentlemen. The WIS Margrave Imperial is currently without, fighters, without most of it’s crew, without weapons, we are damaged mildly and surprisingly the least effective ship in the fleet. As officers and gentlemen we may surely conduct ourselves to the standards of the civilized world so you shall accept my sword in surrender. The greatest offense at our command in such a meeting is the capability to ram, as we have no doubt by your military prowess, you are commanded by a brilliant tactician this will have been spotted. To that extent our ship will approach within two hundred yards or closer if allowed then come to a dead stop. All crew, not needed in piloting the vessel will be on the flight deck. Our submarines and all vessels will stand down. Be sure however that should this not be accepted we shall fight to a bloody end, it will be conditional or by God it will be violent. You have my word as an officer, a gentleman, and a man of God.

Robert Perriwinkle

The WIS Margrave Imperial pulled forward slowly, a small squadron of four hydrofoils pulled into a lose pattern around it and kept up at slow speeds. The remainder of the fleet waited and hoped, any attack from now would constitute a continuing battle. And if nothing the maneuver would buy time to refuel the Gripen’s.

Cyprus Waters

Destroyers and cruisers were torn up by the shear number of enemy missiles, as the vessels were soon overrun with flying targets. One such ship, the MNS Torture was soon to be a victim. It's ship commander, Admiral Farooq, was one of the first casualties aboard the ship. Planning a retaliatory strike, he and his aides were pacing the command bridge when a shell soon flew into the bridge, massarcing the men. Without any orders, the sailors aboard the destroyer quickly abandoned ship, leaving the middle-rank sailors dumbfounded at the sudden change of events. One minute they planning an attack, and the next they and their comrades were flailing to get in the dark, ocean waters...

Command Bridge of the MNS Jihad

"Sir! We have numerous minor hits on the aft section of the ship. Minor damages, though." There was much commotion in the bridge with aides scurrying, intent on quickly updating the situation on the battle.

"Where in exact?" Admiral Phoenix asked, with no enthusiam on the topic.

"The quaterdeck has sustained the most damage, but it is liveable." Another aide soon stepped into the bridge, conferring with the messenger. "This just in! The enemy fleet asks for peace! Here's the message."

After reading it and then re-reading it, Admiral Phoenix came to a decision. "Great. Our fleet was getting ripped apart. Haha... Tell them that we accept and make it fancy..."

Steaming ahead the WIS Margrave Imperial approached what it believed the Maldorian Flagship. Waldenburger crewmen had lined the deck, their green uniforms stained with grime and oil, their eyes starring bleakly ahead. It was not in Waldenburger nature to surrender, this move had come as a strange shock to them and their banners rippled with a strange defiance, The Imperial Eagle streaming in the wind. The Carrier’s maximum speed was about 18 knots now; the damage to the reactor and the hull in general had slowed the advance.

Fictitious Vice Admiral Robert Perriwinkle appeared on the deck visible to any watching eyes; his uniform was a bit underdone but the group of marines and officers surrounding cast an aurora of Imperial finery about him. All in all nearly 1200 men lined the deck, the rest were either dead, wounded, or piloting the ship. With a metallic sputter the engines died at two hundred yards from a Maldorian battleship, Waldenburg, God’s chosen about to surrender.

Open Message To: Maldorian Flagship
From: Vice Admiral Robert Perriwinkle

We have come, despite the better judgment of our Church to ask for terms. How shall we do this? Due to damages aboard the Margrave Imperial I doubt it should be here, I shall prepare a dingy and be over with a small staff momentarily.

Signed:
Vice Admiral Robert Perriwinkle

The Captain, who gulped down air turned to a lieutenant and whispered once the communication had been cut, “If it hasn’t blown it ten minutes, open the reactor room door. The change in pressure should blow it. If not that then find some grenades and jet fuel. Do it quickly I do not look forward to this.” With naval band playing him off the ‘Vice Admiral’ descended into a dingy which was lowered into the water by a pneumatic crane. A staff of six accompanied him, sullenly staring down at the rigid rubber. It would perhaps be one of the better surrenders of the Empire.

Cyprus Waters

The Mandalorian sailors and officers aboard the vessels awaited the arrival of the Vice Admiral. The men, however, were prepared if the Waldenberg ships were to continue hostilities.

Captain Plantiun, or vice admiral Perriwinkle as he was today, stepped onto the Maldorian flagship, his boots clumping to a standstill, before what looked to be the commanding officer.

“Tetrum Di Sanctum, we offer our sword.” After ripping of a salute, that somehow managed to be more insulating then a symbol of subservience, the Vice Admiral unfastened the sword from his belt. The man had a little trouble, he was considerably bigger then most officers and his belt had to accommodate accordingly, his jacket’s many folds delayed what would have been a dramatic interlude. “Of course before I may officially, hand over the sword perhaps we should discuss terms? As stated earlier we do not hand over a battle fleet without good reason. It will be conditional or we may resume fire.” Three officers all armed with sabers appeared over the rail behind him, each one wore the ceremonial helmet of the Divine Legion, emblazoned with gold, and topped by half a meter of feathering.

“What class of ship is this by the way? In general it seems familiar but specifically I could not place it? But enough of this banter let us retire somewhere more secluded.” The Vice Admiral waved to the Margrave Imperial, which was in clear view as evidenced by the various rude gestures being offered by it’s crew. “Shall we sir?”

Dark Admiral Phoenix, as customary of all Mandalorians during a cease-fire, held no emotion, and shook the Vice Admiral. "Why what a nice day it is today. Too bad so many were lost in such a pointless ordeal, don't ya know?" Phoenix gestured Vice Admiral Perriwinkle towards the command bridge of the Peter the Great Class Battleship. "Yes, this fine baby, the Mandaloria's Glory we call it, is the finest in the Soviet Fleet." The Admiral said while slapping a protruding part of the enornmous beast. In the command bridge, Mandalorians were shooed as the two men strode into the bridge.

"So, I'm open for all ideas. What do you propose?"
Waldenburg 2

Perriwinkle fallowed the man into the bridge; unsure of protocol at this point he stood at as close to as could to attention and laid the sword down on the nearest space. Vice Admiral Opplant had not gone over this contingency, these two men were not supposed to talk for very long, the negotiations would be cut short hopefully. Still Perriwinkle steeled himself and with a gruff exhale he began. “As you may have guessed Waldenburg does not enjoy surrender, and the officers that do surrender are usually made example of if they return. Firstly I must request, that all senior officers receive a secure parole within Maldorian territory, otherwise we shall in all likelihood have our faces scraped off and our nervous system slowly removed. We may seemed behind in all things, but in creative deaths I assure you Waldenburg leads the field.”

“As concession we shall surrender all capital ships, which we consider Battlecruiser and up. We shall of course be given free exit, and our exit shall not be hindered at all by any forces. After that we expect any prisoners taken, provided this awful war continues, to be allowed to continue practicing their religion in any camps that may be set up. Are these so far acceptable?” Perriwinkle reached a hand into a pocket, which strangely did not fit the contours of his body, and removed a insulated flask, taking a huge draft and cringing at the bitterness. Remembering himself he held out the flask to his opposite, “Waldenburg whiskey, distilled it is said from the devils own sweat. Damn powerful stuff.”

"Regarding your two points...Yes and, hmm, sure, what the heck." An aide carrying a folder ran into the bridge glanced over to the admiral and noticed his urgency. The aide then left the bridge. Besides the two officers, there were a few other Mandalorians, mostly navigational officers.

"Yes, that is indeed quite funny. However, after witnessing your acts against Mandalorian Muslims, I distest many of your people. Fortunately, I am a minority. I'm Christian. Haha..."

"Well, I believe that is everything. Any other things we need to wrap up?"

"Acts against Muslim Peoples? We arrest them usually, but I would hardly call that something not to offer religious freedoms to prisoners for." Perriwinkle smiled showing off a set of yellowing death rotted by whiskey and molded with lead fillings. As per the peace treaty there is perhaps one more clause.

The WIS Margrave Imperial, which had been floating rather listlessly about two hundred yards off blew to ribbons. Jet fuel, ammunition, and reactor all bursting into a massive flower of immolation sending, what Perriwinkle thought of as, green suited officers from the Waldenburger ships pelting into the hull of the Maldorian ship with a sick, hollow thumping noise. Huge sections of concrete that had previously been on the carriers flight deck were thrown up hundreds of meters into the air, some sections being nearly thirty meters to a side and weighing hundreds of tons. Perriwinkle put on a nearly feigned look of raging furry and turned a massive red face to the Maldorian admiral,

“I should have known you bastard, you arrogant little bastard. For all your prancing about and Christianizing you are still the heathen, the godless heathen who shall know nothing but the burning pits of hell. And though you may have killed my crew, the joke sir, is on you sir, radiation is even now I am sure being discharged from the explosion, and if the hull of this ship is not already scorched by the flame of your own damn arrogance then it will be our continued efforts, Have you no respect for God!”

The Waldenburger screamed, an ancient scream, the Divine Legion war cry that went right back to the blood cries of ancient high kings. With a sweeping movement of his arm the admiral grabbed his sword and unsheathed it taking a massive, and clumsy sweep at the Maldorian admiral. With the movement the admiral’s coat fell open revealing a fat suit, several layers that when x-ray or identified in similar manners would only look as the excesses of privilege but when looked strait on about as convincing as most toupees, which was revealed as the Vice admiral pulled his head back he was in fact wearing.

“It is said sir,” the Vice Admiral made another wild swing, nearly insane and not even pretending to care if he managed to hit or not, “that you can know a man for your entire life but not meet him till the day he dies,” Perriwinkle stopped madly and held out the flask, flipping the clasp off with an expert movement, “The Devil’s own sweat indeed. In a metaphorical sense it is, rotgut in fact.” He laughed madly, fanaticism and anger mixing in his piggy eyes, “for when it hits the ‘gut’ we shall have a bit more then indigestion, we shall have quite a large fire! And the best part is if I’m shot,” he paused as if about to share a splendid joke, “I’ll leak!” The tune of “Stomp the Heathen” came to his manic voice and he sang praise to God, slowly tipping the flask out and watching amber colored liquid pour towards his stomach.

With officers gather around Opplant clutched a champagne flute, occasionally swapping such comments as “buttery” and “not as good as the Hammond,” with fellow officers. It was all going to plan, a majority of his Gripen’s were refueled although take off would be difficult he would at least have something in the air. As the Margrave Imperial exploded he sighed, not relief or sadness just something to fill the ever expanding verbal pit in front of him. The fleet officers did however not share his solemn attitude and immediately pushed throttles and order engines to full, the fleet was on the run. What gunnery officers were available began a chain of missiles, the arsenal ships pumping out a stream of white columns marking the heavy anti ship missiles. Cannons began to fire again although they were certainly limited in accuracy still, Robert Perriwinkle had played the part all to well and the Waldenburger fleet would escape, and hopefully take a few more down.

The four hydrofoils which had been acting as honor guard to the Margrave Imperial, all but one anyway, floating cinders already divining below the waves. One however had only been partially in the blast range, having veered off to rescue a swimming figure. Admiral Opplant ordered it about and to attack. Each of the Hydrofoil torpedo rams could reach speeds of nearly 100 Km’s, performing split second maneuvers. One skimming ship, partially scorched with fire, water skimming off it’s hull sprinted towards the enemy flagship hopefully distracting it from a retreating Waldenburger fleet. If the hydrofoil made it through, it would take a torpedo right into the enemy hull, a directed torpedo. Submarines began to launch torpedo after torpedo, trying to illuminate the Maldorian Soviet Fleet’s consuls.

“Launch all fighters, and continue to fire, frigates and destroyers form rear guard, take us out of here.”

OOC As for Perriwinkle you have complete reign of events on his score, if you have him explode that's fine, or you can have him shot through the head. Your flagship would be in radiation range without a doubt, and flame damage is again up to you. I do apologize for the choppyness of this but time....

Command Bridge of Mandaloria's Glory, Flagship of 1st Mandalorian Defensive Fleet

Dark Admiral Phoenix had no chance. Struggling to pull out his holstered pistol, the crazed Admiral lashed at him, slicing him clean. He and his bloodied trench boat slumped to the ground as men, realizing what had just happened, pulled out weapons. "Take it easy, fella'!" was one of the remarks. Other men, though, were not as happy. A trigger-happy marine named Jester Moto whipped out his pistol, inaccurately firing a few shots straight at the lunatic's head. Two bullets made their mark, yet the final one strayed. Unfortunately, it was either hit his head or be doomed. It seemed that the marine chose option 2. In a matter of seconds, the whole command bridge caught on fire, incinerating those in it. The Mandaloria's Glory was going down, and the missiles and shells from the Waldenberg fleet was not helping.

Command Bridge of Mandaloria's Glory, 30 Minutes Before

The soon-to-be massacred marine, Jester Moto, sat outside as proceedings were going on indoors. Beside him was another marine, Raul Carado. Both of them were reading The Mandalorian Times, yet Raul was the only one of the two who actually knew anything about the events. Jester would just nod his head and say "yea I know" whenever his comrade talked about the news. The headliner today was shocking though. Rumored Tigerlan Mobilization, printed in fine black letters, was enough to catch the attention of any random person. "What's a Tigerlan?" Jester questioned. Raul gave a deep sigh and soon replied, "They are a very large and powerful nation. Hmm, I believe they are our allies, but you know how it is. The Navy tells us nothing about event today. Ya know?"

Jester Moto stepped up, stretched, and said to his friend, "I'm going in, all this fresh air is killing me. I'll see you later." And with that, the marine would forever leave his friend. Not long after, Raul, who was still scanning the newspaper was incinerated as the paper flew away with the wind...

Open Seas

"Get your back into, you punk!" Mandalorians were feverishly attempting to prolong the inevitable. The ships were tearing up, and everyone aboard them knew it. With the Dark Admiral murdered and the flagship in flames, there was no chance but a temporary retreat. Little did the Maldorians know that Waldenberg was headed the other way; out.

Artists Conception of Enemy Flagship After Surprise Attack

“Today, just before four in the morning, a tired but ecstatic Vice Admiral Terrance Opplant set foot on Waldenburg soil for the first time today after in his own words “satisfactorily ending the situation. They won’t try it again.” We have footage, pictures, and testimonials of the Waldenburg fleet smashing several much larger fleets, and most impressively sinking a Dreadnaught battleship, all will be revealed on tonight’s evening news.

The Cenobiarch, who welcomed the Vice Admiral at St. Michael’s Cathedral after his victory parade down the Imperial Avenue, greeted his long time friend jovially and gave him the honorary title “Proeliator” and “Defender of the Faith. In a private session the movies of the fight, as collected by several officers aboard the WIS Arbiter, were shown to the Cenobiarch, and he, like the Admiral, is of the mind that the Maldorians have learned a hard won lesson. In our exclusive interview with His Imminence he had this to say:

“This war began over colonialism, pride, hubris, and greed. Waldenburg offered a condemnation and it followed through with it unlike other nations involved. Our fleet took heavy loses in manpower which cannot be excused, however by tonnage sunk, and possibly by manpower, we do not have those figures yet, we trounced the Maldorian fleets. I am blessed to see this day, blessed to see the burnt shores of Nova Cyprus we won this war, we win all wars. In the spirit of that I wish to officially announce the creation of a second Divine Legion Army Group, with Imperial consent the Divine Legion shall begin recruiting from the Waldenburg Empire, far away servants of the Church shall form our second arm and fight such bloody conflicts as these. And so we may never forget, and the Mandalore may never forget I have Imperial consent to grant the Mandalore the Imperial Order of the Heron, Sir Mandalore has such a ring? Now he shall never forget the fun we had on Nova Cyprus!”

The Cenobiarch was equally jubilant and shared in the celebrations taking place all over the city. Recruitment for the second Army Group of the Divine Legion has not yet begun but a list of recruiting booths will be listed in this paper in times to come.”

St. Michael’s Cathedral

It had perhaps been a sloppy retreat, only later had Opplant been informed that the Maldorians were running the other way, and that was some time later considering the will of his men to enter another bloody slaughter. By the time he could have brought the fleet about he was already some distance from the Nova Europe, and he very much doubted if the way would be open again.

“Sir Robert Perriwinkle did not exist, he was a fabrication and in the utmost ‘truth’ of the word cannot lie, there has been no breech in honor sir, not in my commands.” Opplant stood placidly, legs crossed and sipping at another aromatic cup and saucer.

Across from him Harold Thousis the Cenobiarch was attempting the notorious “Bishop’s Stare” which was supposed to melt the victims of it but apparently had no effect on Opplant. “You did firebomb the island, break a truce, and if some of the reports are more accurate then your word machine gunned enemy survivors in the water.”

“That’s what survivors are for sir. I carried out orders, the mission however broad, is completed. I may add that back home things were less then peaceful.” The Admiral smiled faintly and placed his cup on the desk, “if you excuse me Sire the Emperor has requested a meeting, a truce will be sent, it seems we are no longer capable of returning to Nova Europe, they will close their straits and blockade armadas against us.”A salute that could have cut bread was given neatly before the Vice Admiral turned on an amazingly polished black heel and departed, closely the double doors of the Cenobiarch’s solarium with a soft click. It was a strange thing perhaps that word of Nova Europe had come here simply by proximity of the Waldenburger fleet, perhaps that field as not yet picked clean, the path of war not yet swept. The future would be a marvelous thing no doubt, all possibly without Opplant in command this time the Cenobiarch reminded himself as the Vice Admiral clicked away down the hall.

Official Truce offered by The Most Divine and Illustrious Empire of Waldenburgers"

Absolutum Dominium

Sir:

We shall not beat about the bush sir, this war is done, Waldenburg is satisfied. We ask for nothing, and expect nothing, nor shall we give anything. As your ships burn, under your undoubtedly furious gaze, remember what comes before a fall sir, always pride. The Empire hopes in future that you shall recall this little skirmish when faced with future decisions of colonialism and the extortion of nations smaller and more defenseless then yourself. The Waldenburg Empire will always strike back, for those who cannot stand we shall kick in proxy. No one sir wrongs the world with impunity, we are here and here we shall remain.

In that light we offer a white peace, leave everything as it is, no more need ever be spoken of this war. We do hope this will be acceptable or we shall be forced to add addendums through the medium of the sword.

Signed On Behalf of the Waldenburg Empire:
By the Grace of God His Most Gracious Imperial Majesty Wyatt von Waldenburg IV, Archduke of Paloni, Elector of the Border Lands, Viceroy of Ibblesguard, Margrave of Saddvideen Archduke of Nova Cyprus, Grand Duke of Nova Dardanelles. Official Mandalorian Message

So, you sink one of our flagships, burn our lands, dismantle the 1st Mandalorian Defensive Fleet, and then just leave? Quite a feat, I have to say. You cannot guide our course in future, yet you have the ability to invade us again. However, be forewarned that you will have the whole might of Maldorians upon your men, vassal states and the like. You have to understand, sir, that sometimes, there are nations that deserve being invaded. Those nations range from arrogant hypocrites up to even ill-logical madmen. Countries like these deserve every right to be invaded, conquered, and annexed. We are doing a favor to you by removing the idiocy in this nation.

Message From: His Imminence Harold the Cardinal Thousis Cenobiarch
To: The Mandalore.

You dare still splash your pagan message "Allahu Ackbar" wherever you stand. It disgusts me as does your entire nation and people. Waldenburg rules by the Divine Mandate of God, we can do no wrong be definition those deemed worthy of our displeasure are the infidels that God has chosen to smite, be careful with your boastful words for they, like the spirits of your dead sailors shall come back to torment you in your sleep.

Only God may chose who is worthy of Immolation, and it is obvious you do not possess the traits to warrant such sanctity. We may invade again me may, and next time it shall not be with a single fleet but with the entire might of the Waldenburg Empire, every soul working towards beatification. Until then a truce must reign. My congratulations of being offered the (OIH) Mi Lord, may you wear it always, a little reminder of of all the things that may come. I spit upon your false God, and your allies.

Signed:
His Imminence Harold the Cardinal Thousis Cenobiarch

OOC This was mostly an elaborate way of putting this OOC at the bottom to ask if that last post of your's was a signing of the truce?

The Crimson Sea Strike Force Group A was on a routine patrol near the Suez, The signature black hulls of the Tigerlanian Kreigsmarine contrasting the deep blue of the water. They had received word of their Orders and were moving into position. They were to halt the Waldenburg ships from inflicting further casualties on their Maldorian Allies., Whilst Group B holds in reserve outside the straights of Mandalore.

Admiral Shwartz stood on the bridge of the command Carrier, the Divine Vengeance. His black uniform complimenting his perfect shape, the golden trim glistening along with his several medals. He stared out into the open sea, catching a paper into his fist, the paper reading 'Rumored Tigerlan Mobilization'. The Admiral chuckled to himself "A bit more then a Rumor".

"Open a channel with the Maldorians"

"Eye Sir"

"This is Admiral Shwartz of the Tigerlani Kreigsmarine, We are here to assist you Comrades. We have Arrived."

700 JAU-64 catapulted off the Tigerlani Carrier decks, preparing a screen of Anti-Aircraft defense, Each equipped with 6 of the Silverstreak 2 and 8 AIM-102 Super sidewinder Air to Air Missiles.

Message To: The Tigerlani (?) Government
From: His Most Gracious Imperial Majesty Wyatt von Waldenburg IV

We haven’t the faintest Idea what you mean, our fleets in action against the Maldorians left some time ago with our offer of a ceasefire. We assure you your trade is perfectly safe from us. Our ships are no longer in operations in the area, and our only intended target was the Maldorians. We find it odd however that your magnificent fleet did not enter the area before when the Waldenburger fleet was at full strength and prepared to fight. Now that you are here to “mop up” resistance I may offer you this, if any additional Waldenburger lives, life of one of her subsidiary states or provinces is harmed then you shall consider the region blockaded, by two surface action fleets.

You are hardly one to make threats sir whilst your enemy is at home safely. Any more false threats from Tigerlan, any more mindless bluster and you shall see that a canal works both ways, and then you shall slowly bleed. You Barbarians are all the same you look forward only to death and suffering, may the Archangels take you in your sleep you godless bastard. There will be no more threats, no more or your petty evasion of true combat, only Waldenburger supremacy.

Signed:
His Most Gracious Imperial Majesty Wyatt von Waldenburg IV

OOC Tigerlan: Mal and I were just going to close this down but I’m still game and I’m perfectly happy to Rp the retreat with you in pursuit if you like., that would lead to war of course but otherwise we left some time ago. Although you could declare war for all the ghastly human rights violations but that’s another story.
