Psychosis Motorsports Presents Domination Super Car

Imitora

You are not fast.

Say that to yourself. You are not fast.

Look in the mirror, and say it again. You are not fast.

Dispel all ideas you have on speed. They are wrought with misconceptions, with failures of understanding. So please, say it again. You are not fast.

You are not exclusive.

Yes, you there. You are not exclusive.

There is absolutely nothing special or exclusive about the vehicle you own. It is a produced marketing device to make you think it is. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of people who own a car like yours. It is not exclusive.

So, how do you become fast, and how do you become exclusive?

Domination.

Psychosis Motorsports, one of Imitora’s many premiere automotive tuning houses is proud to present to you the Dominator. From a shop know primarily for some of the most wicked and deadly street vehicles in the nation, the Dominator represents the future of speed. There is no vehicle on the planet capable of matching the power, speed, and prestige associated with this vehicle. And if someone produces one, Psychosis Motorsports guarantees that we will make yours even faster.

-Technology-

From the first moment the Dominator was conceived, the idea was to use some of the best technology in the automotive world, and create the ultimate street machine. From the five hundred and eleven cubic inch, oversquared twin charged motor, to the dry sump oil system. A hydroformed aluminum frame with a carbon fiber body. A magnesium AE44 engine cradle. Every piece of the car is designed with one thing in mind: to use the best technology possible to move the Dominator far past the competition. Everything is designed to make this the ultimate Supercar on the market. For those of you interested only in the numbers, we recommend you skip down to the bottom of the page.

-Power-

We start with the motor. A five hundred and eleven cubic inch LSX based V8, re-bored and stroked to a more powerful, higher revving, oversquare design with direct fuel injection, and a dry sump oil system. It requires a minimum of 93Octane rated gas. It generates, in this form, over six hundred wheel horsepower, but it doesn’t stop there. Mounted in the air intake path is a positive displacement Lysholm twin screw supercharger, rated at 2.6L. However, the compression of air does not stop there. A computer automated clutch is mounted to the supercharger for a unique application: more boost. Mounted in place of where normal mufflers would be are two remote mounted Garrett designed, Psychosis built TO4 hybrid turbochargers, generating twenty pounds per square inch of boost. The use of large turbos, both mounted into a proper recess in the under body, would normally result in atrocious lag. However, as the turbos build towards peak boost, the Lysholm twin screw builds boost immediately, pulling the Dominator hard towards its top speed. Once at full boost, the electronic clutch disengages the supercharger, reducing parasitic drive train loss. The motor generates a measured one thousand and seventy three rear wheel horse power at an engine speed of seven thousand five hundred revolutions per minute. Torque is measured at nine hundred and sixty foot pounds. This is available at an amazingly low two thousand five hundred revolutions per minute, and can be used all the way up to the eight thousand revolutions per minute red line.

The power reaches the ground through a seven speed Direct Shift Gear box, based on the VW DSG, and is mated to a Getrag Lock Differential. Gears are selected via steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, shaped from carbon fiber. The DSG allows the vehicle to upshift and downshift without loosing any engine speed. Shifts also come faster and harder than any normal human would be capable of duplicating. There are two selectable shifting modes, touring and sport, selectable from a wheel mounted dial. It also includes a launch control option, and a programmable safety shift.

-Body-

The body has been designed to not only ensure the slipperiest curves possible, but also reduce weight to the bare minimum. The frame is built from hydroformed aluminum, resulting in a chassis that is lighter than steel, but stronger and more durable. The body paneling is made out of carbon fiber, and painted over. This creates a light weight platform that is structurally more rigid and stronger than other platforms on the market. The body is CAD designed to give it the slipperiest body styling, allowing it to slice through the air with amazing ease.

The official full weight of the Dominator, not including a driver, is two thousand seven hundred and fifty six pounds. This gives it a power to weight ratio of 2.5lbs per horsepower. This ratio, for those wondering, is better than the Kawasaki ZX-14 hyper bike. With such low weight, the car accelerates beyond effortlessly, and is capable of reaching its top speed in very short order.

-Wheels and Brakes-

With this much power, it is going to take some serious wheels to get rolling. In the case of the Dominator, custom one off wheels have been selected. The wheels are ultra light weight forged aluminum, three piece units. Taking hint from BBS, portions of the wheel spokes have been hollowed out in order to save weight without the loss of structural integrity.

The tires are a team effort between Psychosis Motorsports and Michelin to create rubber that would not only be able to handle the power put down to the road, but resist loosing grip during maneuvering. The R compound results are specifically designed for this vehicle and wheel application. The tires will hold the car down to the road at the outrageous speeds it is capable of achieving. And for those wondering if this claim is true, the vehicle designer and builder tested it himself.

The brakes are seventeen inches both front and back, with slotted carbon rotors and eight piston calipers. The wheels are sized eighteen inches by nine inches in the front, and eighteen inches by ten point five inches in the rear. Tires are sized to 255/40ZR/18 front, and 415/30ZR/18 rear.

-Suspension-

Keeping the car moving also takes great effort on the part of the suspension. Knowing full well that the car was not only going to be used for high speed runs but also track runs, a full race suspension was designed and built in house. A fully independent double wishbone suspension mounted with electronic variable rate full shocks and springs keeps the car pointed in the proper direction. There are five suspension settings: touring, high speed, road race, track, and full race. All are available by a wheel mounted dial.

-Interior Luxury-

Of course, more goes into a car than just performance and power. The center mounted driver’s seat, as well as two side mounted passenger’s seats are a perfect mix of leather bolsters and alacantra to keep the occupant comfortable yet placed well. For those who want more than the beautiful sound of the Twin Charged Big Block V8, there is a Logic7 eight speaker sound system. Air conditioning is, due to the cabin layout, tri zone automatic. A tire pressure monitor displays real time information on tire heat and air pressure, while a full time HUD can be activated at the driver’s desire. The HUD displays engine speed, gear, vehicle speed, and both left right and forward backward lateral acceleration.

-Performance-

But the real reason you’ve come this far isn’t to read about how nice it is, or what type of metal the piston uses, or how the body was designed. No. You want to know the performance numbers. Well how do these sound? The car accelerates from dead stop to sixty two miles per hour in 2.41 seconds with launch control, and crosses the quarter mile mark in nine point seven seconds at one hundred and fifty eight miles per hour. Top speed is, and this is a tested, achieved number, an electronically proven two hundred and eighty four miles per hour. Yes, this car is faster than even the fabled Bugatti Veyron 16.4. It achieves this speed in an even more amazing sixty one seconds. It gets to the top speed of thirty miles an hour faster than the Veyron in only six seconds more.

-Exclusivity-

The final mark of this car is the exclusivity of the model. The production plans for the Dominator include ten for Imitoran build, and ten for global export. Build numbers start with #00 and go up to #19. Coloring, both interior and exterior, are of the final purchaser’s request. Other options can be requested by the purchaser, but Psychosis Motorsports makes no promise that the options can be filled.

The Dominator represents more than a life style choice, more than a way to play with new toys. It is the herald of a new era of ultra cars, a new way of achieving both speed and exclusivity. The Dominator is not only the future o Supercars, it is the future of the automobile.

Mr. Diamond,

I would like to personally say that construction of your specific model Dominator will begin shortly. After brief review, we have found you to be a perfect candidate for ownership of a Dominator vehicle. In order to break up the line of purchase, we have decided to paint your vehicle in Mercedes Benz's Iridium Silver Metalic. The interior will be a charcoal leather surface with grey alacantra accents, and a charcoal alacantra headliner. If you wish for the coloring options to change, please feel free to alert us, and we will match your specific choice. We can change the color arrangement until the final point of sending the vehicle to our shiping agency for delivery. HM Queen Mercedez Merideath Hexx hadn't, albiet reluctantly, appointed her head of the Tanaaran Directorate of Intelligence for nothing. She would probably be legendary some day for that . She was already legendary for other reasons. She was so very good at gathering information from an incredibly wide range of sources. They seldom failed her. It wasn't wise to do so.

Thusly a letter on heavy, ivory laid bond, 100% silk rag paper found it's hand delivered way on to the desk of one Ryan Fortier, CEO, Chief Designer, Master Tuner, Psychosis Motorsports, in Temple, Imitora, less than twenty four hours after the announcemnent by the same had been sent to the publishers - and before offical publication.

Miss di' Racul

It would be no problem at all to meet and discuss the specifics of your reserved Dominator. My schedule is somewhat hectic at the moment, as I have taken on a second occupation and am currently spending time going between both. However, I'm sure we can work something out. Just drop by the shop upon your arrival, and if I'm not there, I'll instruct my partner, Doc Henderson, to meet with you and show you around. He'll be able to answer any questions in my absence. I look forward to meeting with you,

Sincerley,

"She's where?" The normally warm female voice had cooled and filled with quiet anger "And why?" The response was unheard but the now cold anger that filled the voice was enough to make any one hearing shiver. "No don't warn him. Let him learn on his own." The call disconnected.

"Mother" And given that the speakher had always called her 'mom'..."You can't have her assassinated."

"Oh you are so absolutely right on that" The look in the currently storm blue eyes crackled with intensity. " I have another plan. Death doesn't leave one eating humble pie and swalling bitter dregs of public humiliation." The smile was slow and completely wicked. "I need to borrow your car."

Rob Ryan's dark blue eyes flashed wide as he realised exactly what his mother, HM Queen Mercedez Merideath Hexx, was planning. "You are going to wipe the streets with her in the Spell Breaker." He named the completely unique supercar that Robert Fortier, his father, had designed and built specifically for her. She had given it to Rob Ryan as his eighteenth birthday present in turn "Ofcourse you can 'borrow' it. It's always been yours, I just drive it." Mercy was a hard working monarch, and had not as much play time as her son would like to see her have. "Squash her like the cockroach she is and let Ryan know that his play toy doesn't compare to his fathers."

"Ryan doesn't know what she is, so I'm only minorly peeved at him, but yes I do intend to do it in a Fortier car, one that by the stats is a 'lesser' car." Mercy said with a cold firmness that would have frightened even the brash and powerful Baroness di Racul had she heard it. The lady had forgotten that there were more powerful people in Tanaara than even she.

Mr. Max,

You can assure General John Arnold that his car is currently in que for construction. I'm sure that the General will fully appriciate the vehicle, and that it will suit the needs he has in purchasing a ultra car like the Dominator. If you could, though, please contact me regarding his choice of coloring, both interior and exterior, so that we may reserve enough of the coloring requirements from our suppliers. Again, thank you for choosing the Dominator for your choice of ultra car

Ryan cranked the bolt over hard, the crunching noise signaling the old mount giving way. For the most part, the chosen vehicle, a 1998 Mk IV Toyota Supra, was clean and in good condition. However, they had been strugling to get the motor free of it's mounts, the car not wanting to give away its prized motor. However, knowing the prestige and power often put forth by the 2JZ-GTE, it would make sense. The motor would eventually find its way back into the Supra, albeit less one turbo, and with more than six hundred more horsepower.

As Ryan furiously spun the now free bolt, removing the final bit of conectivity of the motor to the cradle, his second in command spoke up about the situation with the Dominators.

"Ya know, I don't know how your girl is gonna respond to you having a date."

Ryan looked up, confused. "I don't have a date, its a business meeting."

Doc Henderson shook his head. "Whatever you say man. I'm not getting in on this shit. If shes a freak, man leave her with me."

Ryan laughed. "No problem. Now lets get this fucker out, and see how build number thirteen is comming along. I hear that Kazansky is one crazy fucker."

The Tanaaran Embassy Rolls that pulled up ouside Psychosis Motorsports in Temple Imitora was the classic homage to the coach makers artistry, and the chauffeur that stepped out was equal to such a vehicle in skill and appearance. With quick but rushed steps he moved around the rear of the Rolls to the passenger side read door. The lady he handed gently out how ever far out shone the classic with her own classical beauty and elegance.

Feet, delicately shod in Stewart Wiesman custom handcrafted footware led the eyes up perfectly turned legs, touchably sleek in silk hose, that then hid behind the hem of a Dolce and Gabana designer frock that hid nothing and every thing in just the right mix to show off an exceptional figure. A silken fall of hair in a warm golden brown with red amber highlights framed a face of youthfully mature beauty. It was a face of classical porportions, with winged eye brows to set off golden eyes, high cheek bones directing ones eyes to lips made for kissing.

She posed for a second looking into the showroom, before absently dismissing the chauffeur.

"Hey Ryan, what's Charli doing in a Rolls, and WOW! You two going some place special? Is it her birthday or something?" That was the voice of the college student that had been hired to run the front desk on days when Charli was busy elsewhere.

Though she could not be faulted from making a mistake in identity. At even just a short distance there was much similar about the two women, though Charli seldom wore anything like the outfit the woman carried off with a natural flair. She moved through the front door of Psychosis as if she were royality, and moved with utter confidence and grace on three inch heels. Seemingly she'd been born knowing how to glide in such in a way Charli would never be able to match. The heels brought her up to Charli's near six foot height, so the Baroness in bare feet was but a bit shorter than Charli and her figure was just a tad more lush.

Ryan looked up from the motor of the Supra. "Huh, Charli ain't supposed to be in today."

He looked at Doc with a questioning look, and moved away from the Toyota. His shirt, a plain white tee shirt with a dyno graph that ended in a "curly q" and had "Wanna race from a roll?" written on it, was smeared with oil, transmission fluid, and another as of yet unknown substance that came from somewhere in the depths of an engine bay. Most likely coolant. His jeans were well worn, with schreads, tears, and holes that weren't there when he bought them. Instead, they all belonged their from a number of years of hard wear. And as to be expected, he was covered in a fine layer of sweat from working in the garage.

He grabbed a rag, used it to wipe grease from something off his hands, and made his way out into the main lobby. He took one look at the woman comming out of the Rolls, and shook his head. "Ain't Charli. Looks like her, but ain't. Might be that di' Racul thats ordering a Dominator."

The student looked up. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure I know my own girlfriend."

"But she looks just like her!"

"Yeah, well maybe we oughta stick you in the back."

He walked forward, still holding the rag in his left hand, and extending his right. "Ryan Fortier. Not sure we've met, what brings you out to Psychosis?"

The Baroness took Ryan's hand without even a fraction of a seconds hesitation. Her grip was smoothly strong, yet very feminine. She had no fear for her expensive manicure, she had far more than enough penny ante mad money to afford a thousand more hundred dollar a finger nail treatments.
Her eyes lingered in their assessment of Ryan and her voice was subtlely appreciative, a purring voice that was at once polite yet intimate. Golden eyes met his green fade to blue ones in a maner that was confidently bold but not quite challenging...yet.

"No unfortunately we haven't had a chance to meet before now, and that is my loss. I am Chantal di'Racul, Mister Fortier. I would love to take you to lunch and make up for missed opportunities."
Imitora
03-09-2007, 05:23
"Ryan, please," he countered. He returned with his own firm shake, but nothing challenging.

He too gave her a look over. She was attractive, yes, and had many of the same physical qualities of Charli. But there were a few things here and there that set her apart. Some good, some not so much. He also concluded she wasn't carrying, but was armed in some capacity. Something small left in the car. Probably a compact Beretta, or one of the smaller H&Ks.

"Pleasure's mine," he continued. "Sorry 'bout the mess," he said, signaling to his shirt, "but we've been having issues pulling a block. Nothing that brute force and a hammer wasn't able to fix, though I was thinking we might need to delve in to the shop's supply of C4."

The main door to the shop opened up, and Doc stepped in, sizing up the situation. "The block is out," he said, watching Ryan and the Baroness. "Got it up on chains. When you wanna start breaking it down?"

Ryan nodded back at Doc. "Lunch would be nice, but I'm kinda busy right now. We're working on a shop car, plus the Dominators, and a few customer cars."

"We could do the good stuff," Doc commented.

Ryan nodded as well. "I could go for the good stuff. Need a double right now."

He turned back to Chantal, and explained. "There's a burger place just down the street from here. Though not sure if it would be your style. Greasy food, huge baskets of fries, stuff like that."
Tanaara
03-09-2007, 05:30
She waved away Ryan's appearance as completely natural for someone working on vehicles. "I'm glad to hear that you didn't have to resort to any thing explosive. I'm sure the force of your personality was enough."

She followed his gaze to where Doc stood in the doorway and gave him a cordial nod and a sparkling smile. Never offend until you have to.

Chantal threw her head back and laughed delightly at the suggestion of diner food. "I adore a good burger and fries. Do we walk or would you like me to bring something back?"
Imitora
03-09-2007, 05:41
"You up for a walk?" Ryan asked Doc. The tuner nodded.

"Fine by me."

Ryan turned back to Chantal. "Its not that far, only bout three blocks. Make the best burgers in the nation. Well, there is that place in Northampton, but they charge fifteen bucks a burger, and I don't drive more than a half hour for my burgers."

Doc chuckled. "What about that one time?"

"That was different. There was beer involved as reward."

"True."

Doc walked into the back of the shop, clicking off a radio. He walked by the front desk, and dropped something in front of the student. "Don't forget to call Mr. Prud'homme bout his car."

The student nodded, and jotted down a note.

The walk to the dinner was brief, and the heat had died down just long enough to keep the sea side city below the usual 93 mark. Upon arriving, they were quickly seated at one of the window side booths over looking the parking lot. The lot was packed with numerous makes and models of different cars, all built for speed. "Like I said," Ryan looked up from a menu, "big place for the local tuning scene."

Ryan and Doc both ordered the same, a loaded double cheeseburger, extra fries, and a beer. They also put in an apatizer order of chips and something that was advertised as queso, but more likely cholesterol in a bowl. After di' Racul ordered, Ryan jumped right into the questions. There had been one thing on his mind more than anything.

"So, you related to Charli?"

Chantal easily kept up with the two, seemingly comfortable in the heels and her walk was the graceful sway that most women tried to achieve and failed.

She slid into the booth with equal grace and seemed not to have perspired a drop on the walk to the diner. "Lovely view. " She nodded at Ryan's comment about the parking lot filled to nearly over flowing with high end beauties. "Yours will be the name that dominates in the years to come I feel. I'm good at spotting such things." She said with just enough playfulness to keep it from sounding too prophetic. She ordered a smaller cheeseburger, loaded, fries and a small salad.

Ryan's question caught her off guard but she recovered with no outwards show. "Related to Charlene Firewalker? No I'm Tanaaran born and bred." Thank the Devil. Related to that little American gutter snipe? Chantal shuddered inwardly but nothing showed on the out side as the Baroness's bright smile seemed to say she had no problem at all with the question.

She smiled as the waitress set their drink order then bustled away to return with the queso and chips. "Could I please have some extra lemons" She asked the plump older woman in her gently modulated voice.

Then she turned the full force of her attention back to Ryan.

"Really?" Ryan asked. "You look alot like her. A few differences, here and there, but otherwise, pretty much on."

Ryan shrugged, and took a long pull of the beer. It was something light, most likely something along the lines of Corona or Miller. The diner only sold "beer", and there was rarely any consistency. It didn't seem to bother Ryan or Doc much, though.

"Yeah, well, I guess I like to think I know what I'm doing," Ryan responded to her compliment. "I mean, we kinda have some decent rides out there." His voice trailed towards the end as he watched di' Racul. He snapped back to normality as Doc nudged him under the table.

"Anyways," Doc cut in, "its not like we are gunning after anyone. Just trying to get our name out now. We got some stuff, but nothing we ready to show off yet."

Ryan nodded. "So what made you pick our car?"

"I'm sure you have some very fine vehicles back at your shop. Word gets around you know." Chantal said simply. "And people are beginning to mention Psychosis and Ryan Fortier."

The waitress came with their burgers and Chantal waited until she had left before answering Ryans question about why the Dominator. "The power it represents, the lines and your very confident guarantee" She nibbled on the cheese burger and tried a fry, smiling at how good they were.

"Very few men have the audacity to claim they can do better if their best gets proven to not be good enough. I like that boldness in a man"

Ryan half laughed, half shrugged as the waiter came by, leaving the chips and cheese sauce. The tortilla chips were locally made, and kept under heat lamps to add warmth.

"Well, I guess," he said. It wasn't a lack of confidence, but the fact was, he had never been expecting for Psychosis to do well. It was going to be a side project, just some fun, but he really was pulling in good money. He didn't have much in the same as NIAS, who made millions a year on customizing mounts, but Psychosis, barely a year old, was doing well. He half attributed it to the advertising campaign that he had hired on.

"I think we're doing ok, ya know."

Has the burgers arrive, he hungrilly dug in. Breakfast had become some what of a luxury to him, as he found little time to really cook in the morning. So it was usually a power bar or something of the like before getting into an engine bay, or hoping on the expressway to get to Northampton for morning meetings at Gryphon.

"I guess," he said after swalloing, "we just wanted to get something out there that people wanted to buy, ya know? And chances are, in a month, a year, whenever, someone is going to release something even faster, and we don't want to have to start all over again. I mean, the body design did amazing in the wind tunel, and the motor, as much advance stuff as it has like direct injection and such, is still a basic Chevy block, so there is a ton of room. We can up displacement, add a methanol injection and run more boost, resize the cam, you name it."

Doc cut it at this point. "Ryan's just being humble. Ain't no body gonna build anything faster than that."

Ryan just shrugged. "Its fast yeah, but we'll have to see."

Chantal shook her head at Doc's remark "You are incorrect. Some one will build something faster, that is the nature of competetion, but Ryan is guaranteeing that he will, in turn, out do the future." She gave Ryan an indecypherable look "That is not humble in the least."

She too returned to her burger, eating tidily but hungrily until most of it ws gone, then she set it aside and spoke seriously.

"But for Psycosis to truly shine you would need to commit yourself solely to it. When you divide time and effort between various enterprizes, people will steal a march on you. To make a name for yourself you must excell so that people remember your name first and foremost. And position yourself where you can be seen. The Dominator is a vehicle to be very proud of, and thus you must give it the exposure it deserves."

She lazed back and took a long sip of her tea.

"Man," Doc commented between bites of the burger. "That would have to be a three hundred mile an hour car, and I ain't gonna want no part in that. Half the local lawyers wont even cover us in case of a law suit. And its only a matter of time. Sooner or later, one of these ass holes is gonna have that thing running hot, and then sue our ass when he lays it out."

Ryan half nodded.

"Well, we'll have to wait on that. See what happens. And really, this is as public as it goes. I'm not out to go with Hoot or any of those guys. They can build all the custom one of jobs they want. Not my style. And the Dominator isn't going to make a name for itself just with me driving one, its up to the people who bought it. I bet half the ones we sell will actually see road time. The rest, meh, maybe once or twice a month they'll take it out, cruise and never leave second gear."

He took another large bite of the burger, and washed it down with another swig of the beer.

"Anyways, its not advertising thats gonna put Psychosis out there. If I wanted that, then I woulda just gone to work at NIAS. I don't care who started that shop, its turned into a joke. They crank out one decent performance car a month, maybe two, and the rest are just cheeseball sponsor jobs. They don't even do their own tunning any more, just get preproged software. Nah. I'm going on results. Thats whats gonna put us out in front of everyone else. Not a single flash car."

Chantal idly twirled a french fry in the tangy catsup that she'd puddled beside the heaping mound of fries as she listened to Doc and Ryan

She looked up at Ryan from under her lashes with a smug grin. "And what if I could mention the perfect venue for your work to get seen? Past national" She waved a dismissive hand twards what lay out side the diner. "Outside the Region even, in a international venue thats going to have every thing but Yul Brenner in it? And you can show those resuls in action not just in a static display."

Ryan glanced outside the window, looking at the onslaught of vehicles. Almost every brand was represented, and it was a slow day. Power house dyno spinners, heavily subbed decibel draggers, flashy all show no go toys. Pride was a problem all Fortier men suffered from.

"Hell, to show everyone else up? Yeah. Half the reason anyone races is to prove they are faster, they are better. Might as well go big or go home, right?"

Doc looked at Ryan with an off eye. "Man, you know you can't just go out there and take down the world in one shot. Anyone can get lucky once; you gotta be good to make it count. You think you can do enough to make it so no one touches you?"

"Yeah," Ryan responded, finishing the hamburger in one bite. "I mean, c'mon. Hell, we both know 'em all forwards and backwards. The 4G63, LSx, 2JZ-GTE, the Ford Modular Motor. Shit, whatever I don't know, you do, and vice versa. How bad have we wanted to take out NIAS, show those punks that anyone can slap a charger on a Z and call it a day? Shit, we can go even bigger than that."

"What, Bat Shit Crazy? New Owl?"

"Nah man, bigger. Think about it. We could take some random ride of the street, and do our magic, and rip up them Black Owl cars. Think about it man, how cool would it be to have one of our shop cars tear that shit up. Think about it. The Supra or the Camaro. A ca anyone can pick up, and we take it, tune it, and it goes out and beats the shit out of one of customs and hand builds. Christ, not even just those. The Evo we just did for that guy up in Northampton, your Cobra, I'm working on the Busa. We could have a fucking portfolio that'll make those NIAS guys cry, and go out with these every day rides and blow the shit outa real exotics. I'm not just talking bout Lambos and Ferraris and shit. I mean, go after the Black Owl and New Owl cars."

"Man, don't get to big for your own head."

"You know I'm right. We can put the hurt down." He turned and looked at Chantal. "What are you suggesting?"

Chantal had stopped to retrieve her handbag as they'd left Psychosis and now she pulled out a galley proof of a trifold brouchure.

"This is still at the printers, waiting final approval. No one other than the majors know about this yet. It will be next years first and largest of the entire season. Combining SEMA, HIN and every thing you'd expect in the Paris, New York and Tokoyo Shows. From the majors to the minors and every thing in between. Then throw in the American 'haqppenihg' called Race Wars. If it's automotive, it's going to ber there and not just for the showroom floor."

She let let Ryan and Doc look it over.

"Busa, bring the Busa. And we need to get the build on that Supra done, definately."

"Yeah, pack up double oh, too. Nothing like technology mules. We can call Rays, too. See if he'll bring out that little blue demon."

"Right. And time should have the Cayman done by then."

They continued to babble on for a good five minutes. Finally, Ryan looked up. "We're in."

"I'd thought you'd be. And if you want a real 'in' with TNZ, donate a car to their charity auction. That will cover your entry fees as well as making the brass happy. And the more of your competetion you get to sign up, as the first in - the Imitoran 'patron', the lower your entrance fees will be or they'll toss in up grades. Though, warning, I know that not just Imitoran tuners and manufacturers will be there. Valhalla will be there, they're getting one of these galley proof right about now too." Valhalla was Tanaara's premier tuners and had created the unique Hexx for HM Queen Mercedez Merideath Hexx. And if Tanaarans weren't as car mad as Imitorans it was only by a nose in second.

She waved the brouchure away before they could hand it back.. "I can get more, keep that one. Theres a number hand written on there. Call to have them email you the entrance forms and the other paperwork. But now, back to me and my Dominator"

The older Boeing wasn't quite out of place at Northampton International, but wasn't quite in place either. Amidst the rows of Airbuses and the newer Trip Sevens, it was a bit up in the years. However, it was hardly an unworthy aircraft, and as such, it was directed to a private aviation terminal, and guided to a hanger.

In the hanger, a black Cadillac STS-V sat alone, waiting for its lone passanger. The driver waited by the stair way of the seven oh seven, ready to assist General Arnold in anything he needed.

To Whom it May Concern at General Resources Conglomorate,

It is my pleasure to announce that we have accepted your bid order for a Dominator. The marketing appeal of this vehicle is beyond anything that any focus group could comprehend. In order to increase the "sexiness" factor, unless you state otherwise, your specific example will be painted in a liquid steel, numerous shades of metalic grey with a heavy clear coat and glittering in order to give it a flowing, amorphic coloration. The interior will be done in black leather with a cream tan alacantra trim, and a black alacantra head liner. If you would like something else, than we will be glad to accomodate. Changes can be made up to the point of delivery acceptance. Again, thank you for choosing the Dominator, I'm sure you will be very pleased with it

"I'd like to see swatches of what you have, and I have swatches of my own in the Rolls. I am very particular about what I want.and I'd like to stop by the shop several times over the next week or so, to watch you do a build." She laughed lightly "No not to try and steal your secrets, but to just watch how you work. Perhaps take you and Charlene to dinner, in repayment for my nosiness." She offered lightly, though she knew that Charli Firewalker was too many miles away and too busy to take time out for dinner.

Three thousand miles away a forest was burning out of control. As Ryan and the others finished their lunch, Charli was guiding her parasail to as safe a landing as possible, along with the eight other smoke jumpers of the thrown together team, in the rugged bad lands just ahead of the fire.

Mine has something more custom than what we are sending out, if you'd like to get a look?"

The group rounded a corner that brought them back to the main door to the shop. Doc made his way around the side to the garage while Ryan and Chantal took the main door.

"And I would love a nice business dinner, but Charli is out of town at the moment. Not really sure when she'll get back. And I don't mind if you watch the build, we have plenty of customers who actually want to know what we are doing."

Doc was waiting for him. "I don't trust her," he said, looking hard out the window.

"Whats your point? I don't either, but she's paying. CREAM my freind, CREAM. Anyways, if she pisses us off or tries to screw us, we can just have her locked down."

"What if she tries to go out through the embassy?"

"We'll shoot her shit down. When was the last time anyone around here cared about political relations."

"True. And shes got an ass on her. Ballance a checkbook on that shit."

Ryan laughed. "Yeah. I'm gonna show her my car, she wants to see the set up we can do. I'll bring it around, just keep her busy." Ryan left the main garage to head back into the storage area. Moments later, the cacaphony of a positive displacement twin screw blower strapped to a big block V8 filled the concrete and tile main garage. There was one thing to be said about the Dominator, that it sounded nothing like the idea of a supercar would.

It had no high pitched whine similar to an F1 car, but instead the low, deep grumble of a big block muscle machine.
__

The driver of the Caddy nodded, and slipped out of the garage. With little work, he piloted the supercharged V8 onto the main artery out of Northampton towards Temple. Within seconds, he was holding the big luxury at one fifteen, and staying off in the slow lane.

"So, Doc, could you give me an over view of what you all are doing here. I'm always interested in how things work." She was a good listener, and asked intellegent questions if she didn't understand something. Dear Psychosis Motorsports,

I am an amateur car collector. I just have around 10 cars, but my favorite is the Bugatti Veyron. Doc shrugged. "Not much right now. Pulling out a motor for some work. Gonna do a shop car. That, and one of our customers is comming in later to get meth injection. Decided he wanted the extra one fifty."

He motioned around the shop, but never really moved around. It wasn't much beyond the five lifts. "Work on the cars in here, have a two and four wheel dyno sittin' out back for numbers and dyno tuning. Also working on getting some bike stands to make it easier than just crouching over the bikes."

As Doc finished, the barking and whiring noise of the test mule Dominator rolled into the shop. The exterior was GMs famous Sunset Orange Metalic. A deep reflective orange with hints of red, just enough to look like the last rays of the star coming over the horrizon. Dark, almost one way tinted windows hid the interior: black leather seat bolsters framing a matching orange/red alacantra centers. All the stitching had been done with red thread, and it extended from the seats to the steering wheel to the shift boot around the shifter. The headliner was alacantra as well, in black. The was black trimmed with thread that matched the alacantra portion of the seats. Back on the outside, it sat not on the standard wheels that Ryan was shipping them off with, but with custom made set of iForgeds, diamond black with a polished lip.

The sound was visceral, as was the ride. A deep rumble of a large V8, set off by the whiring grind of the supercharger, and a careful ear would pick up on the slightest bit of turbo whistle.

The door swung up and open, and Ryan easily slipped out of the center mount seat. "Well, this is it. Live and in person."
___

"I'm more of a sport compact guy my self," the driver responded. "Fords are nice, but to big and to touchy by my standards. I like to know that I'll get to work in the morning," he laughed.

After a short while, no more than forty minutes, the STS-V passed a road sign, giving off distance markings. "Shouldn't be to much longer now, sir."

Well, this is it. Live and in person."

Chantal had listened to Doc's description's with interest but the arrival of the Dominator had her full attention. "Fantastic" Was her first comment as she slowly circled the super car, absorbing it with avid eyes.

"I'll want wheels like that certainly" She commented as she took in the sleek lines of the vehicle. "And the tinting on the windows is perfect. But I'm just not an orange sort of person."

Then in a quick change of attention, all of hers was focused intently on Ryan. Most men would have been deeply flattered to have a beautiful woman paying that much attenion to them, not to mention knocked back by the force of her personality - and Chantal knew it "Can I get you to take me for a drive?" Her voice was a sultry purr.

Can I get you to take me for a drive?

Ryan looked over at Doc.

"Man, I'm just gonna start stripping the engine down, at least take off these crap ass sequential twins. That, and get the chryonator fired up. You know it won't take you but ten minutes in that thing to show off what its about."

Ryan nodded. "True. He offered Chantal to lead the way. Take either of the two side seats, shouldn't have to crawl back to much. Set up inside is kinda like a McLaren. Center seat forward, two seats back on the side."

He nodded to Doc, who had already started breaking down the Supra motor. "Back in ten."

Perhaps not as gracefully as it could have been done in flat or sports shoes but remarkably gracefull for three inch stillettos. She showed a lot of perfectly turned leg however in the short tight skirt of the very fashionable Dolce and Gabanna frock she was wearing.

Ryan tucked himself easily into the center seat of the Dominator. "We used the McLaren set up. Put you right inline with the car, better control and road feel. And, it works in Formula 1." Ryan pulled a key out of his pocket, holding it up.

"No ignition switch, just keep the key in your pocket, and hit the start button," he informed. Reaching forward, he depressed the red button marked START, and the Dominator barked to life. The gauges did a full parade sweep, and settled out at their respective numbers. The oddest part to get used to was the dual boost gauges, one for the supercharger, and one for the remote turbos. The tach idled out, and the speedometer read the obvious zero.

He reached forward, and flipped a small switch, activating the HUD. "Heads up displays your speed, gear selection, digital tachometer, and g-rating. Both forward and backward and latterally."

He flicked a gear shift paddle, and the engine grumbled up a notch, Ryan easing on the throttle. He flipped the wheel mounted suspension switch to the every day driving setting, and eased out onto the street. "I'll show off the round town manners, then we'll put her on the highway."

The low slung beast was well mannered, docile even, under the variety of circumstances they encountered while touring the city.

"It handles well so far, but I want to hear it roar." Chantal urged after a few minutes of city driving. "And surely you can spend more than just ten minutes showing the Dominator off. Let me take you to dinner someplace nice, say oh an hour or two south of Northampton. Some place where we can go dancing afterwards."

Ryan nodded subtly, and easily spun the car towards the highway.

"I made sure that city manners are impecable. No reason in having a car like this if you are affraid to take it out for a liesurly drive. I always hated driving those super cars that just stutter and slputter at anything lower than five kay on the tac and going slower than a buck ten. Thats why we went with the twin charged design with a twin screw charger for down low. Nice, even torque all through the power band."

The light turned green, and Ryan eased on the gas. He over flicked the paddles, slipping the car into a very early fourth, and entering the highway at a reasonable seventy miles per hour.

"I'm real low in the RPM range right now to show you how smooth and fast this thing scoots."

He made his way over to the far outside lane, still in fourth around seventy miles per hour. With suden urge, he dropped down on the throttle, and with little more than enough time to think "hmmm, you want to go fast now?" the tach rocketed towards redline, with the engine noise to match. Within a blink, the car was already slipping past the 150 mark, and Ryan had already upshifted, holding the gears all the way to red.

The whine of metal on metal with little in the way of lubrication from the twin screw was gone, replaced with the banshee howl of two large turbo chargers forcing air into the cylinders. At shift, the car hardly even hicuped, caughed not one bit, and let off only the hard, single pssht as the exccess air built by boost but not able to by pass the throttle body was vented to open air.

The acceleration was more than just loud, fast, dirty power. No, it was etheral. A different world that could only be expierenced with a car like this. Ryan was hovering at the two fifty mark when he lifted, a full gear and a half, and plenty of pulling power to go. The noise it had made was beyond obscene, not loud, but the refined sound of thunder. The feeling was akin to being strapped to a Saturn V and given the green light.

"I'd gladly take up your offer, but I really don't have anything nice to wear. And that is the down side of the Dominator. Not much in the way of trunk space."

The driver nodded. "Yessir, we aren't to far out. Shouldn't be more than twenty minutes now."

With an expert grace, the STS-V manuvered through light traffic, the supercharger barely coming above a light whistle.

"Do you need me to stop for anything?" the driver asked, watching as the exits became closer spaced together.

"Well then, how about after a nice drive lets go to the Embassy and I'll have my chef whip up something special for us" Chantal was not easily discouraged and she knew she'd get her way sooner or later. She always did. There were few that could compete with her and Charli Firewalker wasn't one of them. Besides Fortiers didn't settle down, they got around. And she could open doors for Ryan Fortier, doors he didn't even know existed.

"I guess I could do that," Ryan said, flipping the down shift paddle as he brought the car back to more sane speeds. Imitorans were odd like that. They enjoyed speed, and they raced quite frequently, but cruising was most often done below the century mark, and every so often above it. While there was no real speed limit, it was an un spoken law that drivers would stay at a prudent speed based on conditions.

It took less than five minutes, and he was quickly up and on another over pass that would take them towards Northampton. "Right here, it'll take, I dunno, maybe an hour or so."

He slowly increased throttle up to the century mark, and held it there. Cruise control was the only thing he didn't have on the car that may have been generally useful.

Chantal settled back to enjoy the ride with a small smile playing over her perfect lips. After a few minutes she pulls out her cell phone and advises the Embassy that she was returning in a different vehicle than she had left. When they connect her through to her private suite she instructs the chef to prepare a meal for her and a guest. "We'll be arriving in about an hour. Noshes and drinks before the meal" Not ending call, but putting the phone aside for a moment she looked over at Ryan.

"What are you in the mood for vennison steak, fish and chips, Waldens Hickory Hollow Monster burger?" She named the speciality burger that he favored when dining out "Or a nice Ruben, with a side of slaw?"

Ryan hid any sort of suspicion that would show on his face. He wasn't surprised as much, back in Tanaara he had been led on to believe she was somewhat in charge of the Tanaaran intell sector, and wouldn't put it past her to look into a possible contact. Afterall, its the way things were done in those branches. All about knowing who you knew. It wouldn't take much to keep tabs on him publicly, just a light tail to watch him when he went on lunch or for an early dinner. What was there to really worry for? So she knew that he was a fan of pub food. All it really meant was he was going to get a decent dinner out of it.

"Fish and chips sounds great, been a while."

A flick of the down shift paddle and with little in the way of any effort, they were out and around an eighteen wheeler in the slow lane, and slipped right back in.

"So your staff wont be to miffed off that I'm not dressed up or anything?"

"So your staff wont be to miffed off that I'm not dressed up or anything?"

"Not at all? Why? Should they have some say on how MY guests dress, particularly if I don't?" She shook her head with a smile and finidhed her conversation with her major domo.

Oh she didn't have a tail on soon to be Master Chief Ryan Fortier, it was much easier to simply gather the info from computers. Almost all restraunts and such entered orders on computers and then tallied them on the same computers, taking debit and credit cards and puting them , again, on the computer. A properly writting program could figure out who paid for what in seconds flat. The and what major corporations did, so did governments. Where one had to worry wa who was doing what with said information. Stopping it being gathered was impossible.

Ryan shrugged.

"Works for me." With ease, he settled the supercar into a steady velocity, and tucked in behind a black Suburban moving at a decent clip. He was focused more on driving than he was on Chantal, but he was still aware that she was in the car with him. It wasn't the zen like state required for the high speed driving, or hard focus to maintain a vehicle at the speeds it could reach. No, instead, it was simply paying attention to what was going on around him.

"Mind if I put on some music?" he asked. Reaching forward, he flipped on a radio switch that keyed up the Mp3 audio player in the head unit. The speakers began thumping out the hard base mixed with old school riffs that was Jay Z's Heart of the City.

Ryan bobed slowly with the rythym of the song, passing the half way point to Northampton with decent time. With just over fifteen minutes left in the drive, Ryan had settled into a nice, comfortable pace.

"Mind if I put on some music?"

Chantal didn't object but inwardly she sneared at his choice of music. She detested rap, hip hop and crudity such as this demonstrated in that song . To her it showed not one ounce of creativity, and didn't deserve to be called music, but her face never registered once itota of her disgust. It made her think even less of Ryan Fortier. He had half the class his father had. And if she wasn't determined to put that little mutant, Charlene Firewalker, in her place she'd pay no mk,ore attention to the Imitoran that she had to. But she wanted the car, and would pay good cash for it. But she'd not let him know until after she had the car she wanted and all the use she could get out of him.

However...

"I though this car could run, not just lope along like some pony muscle" She challenged him.

Ryan chuckled. "Well, its fast, yeah."

His hand twisted an off knob on the wheel, one not present on the other Dominators pushed out. It was a little trick that his, and only his, would have. It was just one of many toys that Ryan had put on his own, and no amount of cash would make it out to any of the other's built. He flicked the down shift paddle at the same time he mashed the gas.

With a shudder and a hard kick felt throughout every bone in a human's body, the rear end kicked out almost ninety degrees sideways, the throttle still mashed all the way down to the full open position. Ryan turned in the wheel hard, more than enough counter steer, and brought the nose of the car back around with ease. Gone was the almost refined roar of the twin turboed eight, it was now the banshee wail akin to a Formula 1 motor.

Finding its way into a break down lane, the car shuddered hard again with the upshift, the cluctch slamming into place to contain the full power of the modified cam profile and higher boost pressure, sending vibration through the car. No longer was it a refined sort of acceleration, but a pure adrenaline dump. If Chantal could focus on the HUD's speedometer as just over a full one g poured onto the car, she would notice it was unable to keep up with the actuall speed of the car. It jumped in odd incriments, 90, 120, 156, 180,and climbing past the two hundred mark with ease.

Ryan snapped the wheel over, the suspension working to keep the car from blasting into an uncontrolable spin, and the nose cleared the gap between between itself and a large SUV by hardly a heart beat. Another shudder as the heavy duty clutch, stolen from a real race car and not a street unit, slammed closed on the sixth cog, the car still pulling with out anything in the way of stress. The F1 wail still poured on as the speedometer crested the max speed mark advertised, and continued its pull towards the third century mark. Another hard jerk took the car around the ass end of an ambulance, out into the inside lane, and a equally quick jerk back across three lanes behing a Mustang and something that, at speed, could only be identified as an econobox.

At two hundred and ninety three miles per hour, the tires were reaching thier maximum level off retention, and almost at the point that their design wouldn't keep the car held tight any more. Ryan knew this well, and he lifted, and was quickly back on the brakes. Almost as fast as they had reached the speed, they were back down, the engine barking a rev match with every downshift, the tail pipes spitting fire as excess fuel was dumped into hot titanium tubes. The brakes, from an external view, glowed a hot orange, but resisted cracking or warping expertly.

A twist of the same knob, and the car went back to its usuall pulsing rumble. "Yeah, its decently fast."

Chantal let the g force press her back into the seat. Her eyes wide with excitement, and her breathing fast, she took the speed in with a building excitement. Chantal didn't care that her backwards movement into the depths of the seat had hiked her already short skirt up expsoing an even greater length of creamy white thigh. It would just be greater temptation for Ryan Fortier.

Disappoined beyond words when Ryan slowed down, her eyes glittered recklessly. Chantal could be perfectly greedy. "Oh my can we do that again?" She asked breathlessly with a wide smile on her perfectly lush lips. "That was a incredible rush."
Imitora

Ryan laughed. "Better than Cocaine. I'd show you again, but the engine needs some time to cool. Still working on that part for this model. The others are just fine, tested them out myself and they are perfectly capable of doing runs like that back to back. Maybe not as fast, but then again, this is a test mule, and its supposed to be faster. Also working on getting the shifting sorted. Race trannies don't really do teh whole subtle thing at speed."

However, the little run had brought them considerably closer to the Northampton exit. While it may have felt like only seconds, a race chronograph on the dash would show that they had spent a full minute at the top speed. At 293, they had covered five miles in that minute. Further, the acceleration took place over an exponetial period, slinging them even closer.

It was just a short five minutes later when they crossed the threshold into Northampton, and with grace befitting the car, he guided easily through the crowded streets of late afternoon rush hour. It took only a few moments longer to get to the embassy than normal, and Chantal instructed Ryan to park in the underground garage. With a flip of a switch, the almost zero clearence Dominator slid up a few inches to clear a ramp lip, and Ryan eased it down the ramp and into an empty space.

"The entire underbody is covered with a little bit more than ludicriously expensive carbon/carbon kevlar defuser. We installed a lift system to get it over those pesky speed bumps and ramp lips."

"Excellent, I was wondering about that. Not ever place maintains their roads as well as Tanaara and Imitora do." She showed him whch space to park in and led the way to a key activated private elevator. That whisked them up to the penthouse level. The mabassador and his family had half of this level the V.I.P. penethouse the Baroness was useing, the other. It waw a spectular set up that rose three spories had had spectacular views from every room. She led the way in her major domo opening hte door with impecable timing and then asking them what they desired in the way of libations.

"Campari and Hillsdottor Gran Reserve" Chantal repleid, naming one of Tanaara's finests wines, one that was an utter shame to ruin with campari, but she was like that.

Ryan took in the suite with an approving glance.

"Nice digs. Never really had my own place set up all that nice, more functional than anything. Spend most of my time in the bed room, garage, or armory, and tend to get some good time in the kitchen as well. Charli does much of that sorta stuff, setting it up the way she likes it. As long as she doesn't move it in my sleep, I'm gravy."

Ryan was taking it all in when the major domo presented his query. Ryan thought about it for a moment, running his options, and made a decsion. It was hard to shake the military mentality, though he was currently one what was known as "administrative rest". He wasn't reserve or active duty, but he could simply re-instate himself at any time.

"Guiness Draught. And keep the cap on the bottle."

Chantal wandered into the living room (http://www.atddm.com/tanembpent2.jpg) and threw open a door to the narrow balcong that ran around the penthouse. "It's quite a view, isn't it?"

The penhthouse was thirty stories up so indeed the view was quite nice.

The major domo was most effecient and soon had Chantal's campari and wine, and Ryan's Guiness - cap still on the bottle and a stirling silver bottle opener beside it- in their hands, along with a tray of casual nibble foods set where they could easily reach it, on the black laquered table that sat between the pair of custom built winter white upholstered sofas (http://www.atddm.com/tanembpent.jpg). He then discretely withdrew.

Ryan thanked the major domo, took the top popper, and snapped the cap off the bottle of the dark Irish brew. Alcoholic soup was the only way to really describe the dark drink, but Ryan loved it, and it was one of the only non Imitoran beers he drank regularly.

He grabbed one of the finger foods, and posted up against one of the walls, taking a look out the window at downtown Northampton proper. He took a long pull on the dark beer, ice cold as it should have been. "Man, its been forever since I've been up here in Northampton."

"Take or leave the nightlife, but stay out of the spot light and get forgotten." Chantal replied as she stepped back inside. "Ryan, if you want to get to the top, in any endeavor, you have to not only be the leader, you have to make it known you are the leader. And hiding out with the rest of the automotive equivallent of the 'nerd herd' isn't going to get you that exposure." She swept a hand around the penthouse, that any where from London to New York, Paris to Rio, would sell for five or six million easily "You need to be here where it is all happening, and I can introduce you to people who count. Ryan nodded, still watching out the window, taking another pull on the dark beer. "Ya know, I've come to realize that. But I don't want Psychosis to turn into NIAS. I mean, Harlan hardly ever gets his hands dirty anymore, he never gets into the cars. He just takes his share of the cash, puts it in his own rides, and calls it a day. Just hires new people whenever someone comes along and asks for something he can't do. Has no clue about anything outside his Silvia right now."

Ryan shrugged. "Theres something to be said about fighting your way to the top. Screw the advertising campigns, do it the old fashioned way."

He turned to look out over the city as the sun began its descent. Ryan thought back to the last time he was out here, when he was much, much younger, still in high school.

"Eh, but what do I know? I'm just a wrench turner and a grunt."

Ryan slid back over to the table, taking another one of the finger snacks.

"Would sucess turn you into Harlan? I don't think so. Ryan was sure to take in a good look of Chantal, but nothing more than a look. It was going to take more than a body and showing some leg to get him to stray away, and instead he focused on his beer.

However, he was truely interested in what she had to say, and was taking more than his fair share of mental notes. If nothing else, it would be good to get an outside perspective, a little bit of info from the other side. And contacts with cash never hurt.

"Absolutely. It's one of the things that I am very good at." Chantal moved close enough that their bodies were almost touching. "Never underestimate just what I can do for you" She looked up at him and made sure that with her breathing she brushed ever so lightly against him for a bare few seconds. Then she moved away, looking down at the tray of finger foods, selecting just the right nibble.

Ryan chuckled as Chantal pulled away. "I see that subtlety isn't your finest point."

Ryan mused, taking another pull from the beer, the clanking of the pint measurer telling him it was close to finished.

"But underestimate you is hardly something I do. Most people would have lost bladder control at dropping the hammer on me own Dominator. Anyone who can handle my own at throttle like that obviously has something going for them."

He was nibling on something that had come from, or had been part of, a fish at one point, and was now on a water cracker. The taste was good in its own way, though nothing Ryan would be running out of his way to pick up anytime soon.

"So, what are your suggestions?"
Tanaara
09-10-2007, 18:11
"Oh I can be very subtle when I want or need to be. But many times subtle is just lsot on people." She gave him an amused glance. "Suggestions?" Chantal took another delicate bite, and looked him over carefully.

"You come off as too rough, as if you were straight from the slums of Brighton, Irish working poor, unedeucated and dangerously uncouth. You have to have the look and speach of those you deal with. The way you are right now is fine in the shop and out on the backstreets. But in the office and especially the boardroom you have to dress a minimum of one step better than those around you. Single needle, hand made, bespoke tailoring- not off the rack and tailored, but cut and sewn just for you. It makes the statement that you - number one put quality before cost; number two recognise quality and are willing to pay to get it. Number three it's armor, just like Dragonskin any other. It's just armor for a very different kind of warfare."

She took a sip of her drink and continued "You are supposed to be mister super noncom, and thats fine in that sort of battle field. However out here " She waved a hand at the sprawl of Northampton "different battlefield and here they want officers, not noncoms. Noncoms don't get taken seriously in this war...but even before that you have to decide which battlefield you want to fight on."

"You talk about Nais, and the way they want thins to be in the tuning world. If thats what you want to influnce, you first have to dominate. How do you go about dominating that battlefield? How do you get others to acknowledge you leadership? How do you get funding to obtain that leadership position? And don't tell me you have enough money. You don't. " She wasn't trying to be derisive or cruel, but she wasn't sure if Ryan really knew the cost of becoming The Leader in a field. Or if he really wanted to pay the price, because the price wasn't always about what money could buy.

Ryan was back to leaning against the wall, observing Chantal as she spoke. He took note of her words, and agreed with some, and tossed aside others.

"I dunno. So far in getting what I want, I've found that just killing people as worked well enough. I don't need to tell people what I've done, my record does the talking for me."

And it did. Enough succesful missions stacked on each other gained plenty of respect. There were certain parts of Imitora, yes, where the nice suit, the falshy Lambo or Bently, and dropping wads of cash would get you a smile and a handshake. However, Ryan was hardly found amongst those groups.

However, if it would help his standing with the right sort of clients, he had a few nice suits, a couple of tuxs, and his own personal Dominator could quickly be quieted and civilized with the flip of a few switches.

"And dominating where I play is simple. I don't need to politic, to hob nob, or pay people off. I just win. The simplest form. I race the NIAS cars. I beat them. Nuff said, right?"

Nope I can name you hundreds of Olympic gold medalists that won not only in one olympic but again and again every four years, but still aren't known worth squat save by the handfull of others who play their sport. You have to look past one battlefield and see the whole war." She shook her head.

"Killing people effecently may get you kudos from those in the military, but the military isn't the whole of even Imitora!" It was an attitude, a way of looking as things that she was trying to convey. "Have you ever read the Art of War?"
