The flag bearing the Sacred Castle and Key flew proudly in the air as the Ruggkrook sub splashed into the water. The crowd lit up and cheered, tipping hats and swiveling canes, shedding tears and shouting with joy. The Duke waved at the crowd and clasped his hands into a victory shake. Captain Andreis stood at tight attention, never taking his eyes off his Most Loved Duke.

What a wonderful time.

Indeed, Ruggkrook was coming on in the world. Advances in technology were catching on, and isolation was deemed no longer acceptable. In secret military generals were quite hesitant to begin contact with the outside world, and the entire Grand Army was put on alert. Zeppelins were to be in the air at all times, tanks were to be on the ground, and subs were to be patrolling the waters.

Ruggkrook was a simple land, a Grand Duchy that had been abandoned by an ancient and long forgotten empire, the likes of which no fond memories could be found. The Dukes had always been a kind hearted if a little corrupt throughout their reign, and the people had high opinions of their rulers.

This however could change.

What effect the outsiders that would be contacted would have on the Grand Duchy was unknown, and as the message whurled around the world, the entire populace of Ruggkrook winced:

Unfortunately it is the policy of this government not to encourage the proliferation and construction of nuclear, biological or chemical weapons, and for this reason we are unable to divulge any particulars regarding our own strategic weapons solution. Likewise, due to national security reasons the details of our nuclear defences are classified in order to prevent them from becoming compromised.

In regards to space travel, at present the Ra-Horakty Space Exploration Ministry is limited to launching satellites and very few deep space probes. To date, we have conducted no manned exploratory missions, and have only sent men into orbit for the purposes of satellite repair. However, all of this information can be made available to you if you desire it.
