"Headlines... keeping its thumb on the pulse of the nation."


The Universal News Enterprise, the largest news organization in the Dominion with a monopoly over all forms of news presentation, has launched its newest venture known as "The Universal News Enterprise Presents Headlines."

With a small department of some nine or so staffers, the "Headlines" section will be kicking out a daily list of headlines important to the Dominion. Their subjects will run the gambit; some will be serious military or government related, while others will be about celebrity life or sports. Each headline will be accompanied by a very short passage describing what the headline is about plus a reference to where the full story can be found on UNE's numerous broadcasting systems.

"Headlines" was created to run the full spectrum of news and give an insight into the daily happenings and attitude of the Dominion. While there may be a massive story breaking about a rising economic depression that will be covered from ear to ear on every UNE station and in every paper, that doesn't mean that the citizens of this nation don't have lives that go on. So while there would be headline about that depression, there would also be a headline about the championship of football that day or the award's ceremony that happened the night before.

Top Ranked Galaxy Narrowly Edged Out the Upstart Raiders from Sector 76. As David and Goliath squared off in an epic match of football with Goliath intruding on David's turf, the crowd seemed ready to accept the fate of their beleaguered team. However, with unexplainable speed and skill, the Raiders struck first in the 9th minute of regulation. The crowd surged in support of the underdogs as they played thirty-six minutes of flawless football to end the half. As the second half opened, everything seemed perfect for the upset of the century. High-level ball continued and the 1-0 lead was preserved going into the 87th minute. But as has been proved time and again, there is no stopping the world's best player... only containment. The Galaxy Captain took it upon himself to score consecutive goals in the 87th and 88th minutes of the game. Momentary shock and anger subsided as the Raiders scored only seconds into stoppage time. Fashion Icon Announces New Line. As goes Le'Toie, so goes what is vogue. The fashion megastar designer has announced a new line of fashion to be revealed at the year's biggest fashion party in April. Billion Dollar Lotto Payout to School Teacher. While not close to the top fifty biggest lottery payouts in the nation's history, a billion dollars is still a billion dollars. And who better to be blessed with such luck than a school teacher [name withheld] who works with both third graders and freshman in college. Military Reports: All Quiet on the Sea! Rumors and worries about possible military action taken by various members of the international world against the Dominion's homeland and colonial assets have been put to rest today as a spokesman for the military issued the following report, "The Military has received no credible threat against any Dominion asset." Ministry Announces First Civilian Space Colony. While the space program has been under way for well over half a century now, and there exists numerous satellites and space stations orbiting the earth, the government today announced the creation of the first civilian space colony. Stemming from a deal with the nation of Tanaara that reportedly involved the exporting of Executive Motors vehicles to the nation in a Ministry-facilitated trade, the Dominion has acquired a large space habitat. The nation's largest international bank that serves many nation's multi-trillion dollar accounts and uses that money to invest in the Dominion has reportedly been robbed for all its worth. Technology Expo Begins. The annual technology expo held in the convention complex downtown begins today, promising to reveal this year's newest and hottest gizmos and gadgets. Establishment of Future Ground Space Base Expected. With the recent announcement of the first civilian space colony, experts expect that the government will renew its interest in various aspects of space. As such, the section of the Ministry that deals with such matters will likely receive an increased budget and staff. However, more importantly, as reported yesterday it appears the government is looking for a base of operations. New information points to a possible base on the Antarctic ice shelf because it is away from most foreign powers and remains close to home; however, such a construction will be more costly than on normal land..... RockStar Tour Begins. A myriad of powerhouse rock groups begin a tour today through the city, to Eborall, and back again.
