Hello all, and welcome to RTRN, the primary international radio news program broadcast from the Kingdom of Romandeos.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, I am Keenan K. Koontz, here with RTRN, bringing information from Romandeos to the world community at large.
Early this morning, Spokesman of the Royal Household Dennis Knipfel announced that it is the Queen’s intention to enlarge the Royal Armed Forces. While exact numbers can not in the present circumstances be revealed, he informed reporters the size increase wouldn’t happen in one massive burst, but in regulated segments, the first of which should lift what is presently a 3,000,000 strong force to perhaps 15,000,000.
Mr. Knipfel finished the announcement by explaining the basic reasoning behind this size increase in the military, citing mostly homeland safety concerns.
"Frankly, the Armed Forces are nowhere close to being as large as they should be. Back a long time ago, when Romandeos was a small nation, three million was enough, but now it is quite simply not sufficient anymore. Even if we were not planning to go to war, it could likely do little even to protect the country’s borderline. I am confident the Queen’s choice is a sound one, and that we will all of us benefit in due time."
In addition to this massive influx of new personnel, it has been announced that equipment is scheduled to be purchased in the immediate future, to replace equipment that is deemed in some way inadequate to present defense requirements.
High ranking government and military officials have also confirmed that plans to conduct major invasions in to nations which have committed offences against Romandeos are underway.
In the world of diplomacy, relations with Van Luxemburg continue to progress with what little contact there has been to date described by diplomatic officials as ‘promising.’ What has some people concerned, however, is rumors that Romandeos may be planning to send in military forces to suppress rebels operating on the island colony of Guyana were locals have recently been expressing discontent at the Grand Duke’s rule.
OOC:
Well, there you have it. Not much, I know, but it's only the beginning. If you like it, that's fine, and if you don't, well, that's also fine.
