This thread is open to anyone who wishes to join. I know I was all gun-ho abou the Jennifer Government RP but perhaps I and others weren't ready for it to be a realization. So, I'm going to helm a superhero thread.

The basic concept is similar the the show Heroes as well as X-Men to a degree. A mysterious light appears in the sky and spreads throughout the atmosphere, plunging the entire world into darkness for 24hrs. Astrologers and scientists wave it off as a freak electrical storm brought on by a meteror that disintegrated in the atmosphere. Of course, something far more complex ensues afterwards. Ordinary people become extraordinary. As these people discover their new traits and talents, they must come to terms with the reality of their new found powers and the possibly lethal consequences if misused. Some will use their powers for good while others for evil. An unseen force begins to plot and rally these children of the next stage of evolution to a more sinister cause while the government attempts to track and subdue all those affected by the anomaly.

It's real world all the way. The extent of my hopes is that this will be the beginning of other threads, developing this new world. The fears and misunderstandings of society in the face of this new breed of humans. SOme will shun their powers, desperate to carry on with their lives while others accept their new found powers and begin to use them. In response, the government forms a task force dedicated to finding all those affected by the anomaly and even imprison the dangerous ones. From this, comes those who believe that the era of humans has ended and a new age must be ushered in.

You can be just about anything from an everyday citizen altered by the anomaly to a governmnet agent attempting to stop those misusing their powers. You can be Senators from investigative journalists to whatever. This thread will be about them discovering their powers and eventually growing to accept their powers all the while trying to cope with an ordinary society that shuns them.

Brief Bio: Ryan works as an investigative journalist for the New York Times. He grew up in Philadelphia. He earned a degree in journalism and worked for several papers in Philadelphia before being offered a job at The Times, which he eagerly accepted. Since then he's worked tirelessly as an investigative journalist and broke several large stories mostly about political corruption and exposed a scandal involving the police commissioner. He's a hard worker and trult cares about exposing corruption.

Hair: Black, Cornrows, Ludacris' mustache.

Brief Bio: Dante Jackson has had a hard life so far, his mother has died and he is on the list of a gang to kill him. He currently sells weapons illeagally on the streets. He also dropped out of Harlam Highschool when he was 16. Usually he has to run from any gang members out to kill him. He demands revenge for his mothers death.
Special Abilities: Complete knowlage of every fighting style ever created, enhanced reflexes to dodge almost anything.
He typically uses his powers in illeagal fight clubs.

Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Brief Bio: Blissfully unaware of the events which granted her and others like her their powers, Jenny is more concerned with her school work and friends than the fate of the world. Recently plagued by vivid nightmares in which 'bad people' chase and capture her, she carries a little more anxiety than the average 12 year old.
Powers: As yet, undetermined. They will most likely emerge uncontrollably in situations of extreme stress. Her young age and innocence will make her a prime target to be recruited by those who would use her powers for evil.
