Stalinist attackers invade Tatom!
The Republic of Tatom was today brutally attacked by Stalinist bureaucratic forces falsely flying the banner of Communism, being struck with nuclear weapons that left over thirty million dead before being subject to an invasion.
The capital city of the Republic, Corvul, was destroyed by a nuclear attack by the invaders in a cowardly attack against the proletariat, striking civilian targets.
The Stalinist forces, whilst gaining ground in the early stages of the conflict, have yet to meet the brunt of Tatom Democratic force defences. Early indications show massive forces being mustered for the defence of a Free Tatom.
President-Kommissar Maximillian Coltrane officially condemned the actions of the Stalinists, and pledged one billion units of currency to the defence and reconstruction of the Republic during and after the conflict. Any citizens wishing to donate money to be sent to the Republic of Tatom should send money to details provided on the website for the Kommissariat for Foreign Affairs.
Fighting in Mokastana
Militia forces of various allegiances attacked the socialist government forces of Mokastana, leading to destruction and violence as the situation becomes increasingly volatile within the country.
Mokastana, whom holds an embassy of the USSC, has retaliated with government forces against the militas, who seek to bring down the socialist government in power.
Whilst the Cynapsian government has offered pledges of moral support to Mokastan, there has been no talk of military involvement, and government officials deny the possibility of any force being sent at this time, due to "greater concerns for the defence of the homeland."
Cynapsian Economic Crisis continues, Kommissariat Yarding under fire, faces removal
The Cynapsian economy maintained its slow rate of growth today, prompting questions to be asked in the Congress of Deputies as to the competance of the current Kommissariat for the State Economy, Henry Yarding.
Kommissariat Yarding was appointed under the previous administration after the fall of the Soviet Union, and was tasked with maintaining the economic growth of the state despite the fall of the USSC's biggest ally. Many believed this position was a poisoned chalice, and that Yarding was chosen due to his contestation in the Presidental election ten years earlier.
The Congress officially put forward a motion for dismissing the Kommissariat from office, and to be replaced by a more competant official immediately. The vote is expected to be undertaken tomorrow.

Kommissariat Yarding dismissed from the government, replaced by Evan Thomas - changes proposed.
Following criticism due to the stifling of economic activity within the USSC, the Congress of Deputies voted overwhelmingly to remove Kommissariat for the State Economy (KSE) Henry Yarding from his position at the head of the department. After two hours of debate over a shortlist of other candidates, just over half of the Congress elected to appoint Evan Thomas, a Doctor in State Economics from New London University, to replace Yarding and seek a way out of the economic stifling.
Under new plans, the KSE will invest more into heavy industry to better assist the development of the consumer products sector. This way, growth could be achieved simply by leaving the Soviet Councils of each business to exploit the greater resources availiable. Kommissariat Thomas also outlined a reduction in the length of planning from five years to one year. This way, the Kommissariat explained, the One-Year Plan would be based much more on immediate demands rather than long-term constraints that miss the immediate requirements. However, Thomas stressed that the construction of military equipment would continue to be controlled on a long-term basis to ensure an overall organisation of defence.
President-Kommissariat Coltrane issued a statement supporting Kommissariat Thomas, which stated that he hoped to work alongside Thomas in Cabinet soon.

Revolution in Zhyolatska!
Conflict erupted in the nation of Zhyolatska, as warring factions finally put down the pen and took up the sword to fight for the cause of either freedom or oppression.
As well as Capitalist and Fascist forces clashing with eachother, groups of Anarchists, Igovians, Makhnovists, Neosocialists and State Socialists are fighting to see which left-wing ideology takes supreme hold of the country.
Sergei Vasseily, General of the Revolutionary Insurrectionist Army of Zhyolatska, has declared the territory under his control as the "United Socialist States of East Zhyolatska", with a Revolutionary Council assuming temporary governance. The Cynapsian Kommissariat for Foreign Affairs announced earlier today that it had diplomatically recognised East Zhyolatska as a sovereign state.
Political Commentator Igor Redchester, acclaimed writer for the "Red Star" newspaper, was disgusted by the in-fighting between the different socialist factions. "Nobody seems to be looking at the long-term," he wrote earlier today. "It is clear that socialist and communist development can be achieved by different means depending on the outlook of the individual society. The Igo-Soviet split is ridiculous, and both sides should realise that they're both aiming for the same thing."
There was no comment from any government members as to action to be undertaken in this particular conflict, citing "Soviet Commonwealth obligations."
First, Second and Third Infantry Divisions deployed on Training Exercises
The Kommissariat of Defence announced that 3 Infantry Divisions, a total of thirty thousand troops, were to be deployed on "Live Fire Training Exercises." The KoD spokesman refused to disclose the destination of the deployment.
The First Infantry Division left yesterday, and the Second and Third are expected to be deployed in the future once transport aircraft return from the first wave.
Cynapsian State Socialism Pamphlet Availiable Online
The literary political work of President-Kommissariat Maximillian Coltrane, "On Cynapsian State Socialism (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=537918)", is now availiable free of charge online. This work details the inner workings of the Cynapsian state, and is to become required reading by Cynapsian Political and Economic students.
Economy Picks Up
Economic changes instigated under Kommissariat Thomas, the new head of the KSE, appear to be working, according to independent economic sources.
The Cynapsian economy has begun to grow, as the re-organisation of the Kommissariat for the State Economy begins to take effect.
Under the new Kommissariat, the KSE reduced it's productivity plans from two years to one year plans, and concentrated more on the development of heavy industry to support the growing consumer goods sector.
President-Kommissariat Coltrane praised the work of the KSE in a luncheon speech at a meeting of "Think First," a charity organisation dedicated to public awareness regarding the social effects of casual racism.
Red Army Gets New Rifle
The Kommissariat of Defence officially announced that it had replaced the AKM-47 Assault Rifle, used by the Cynapsian Red Army Ground Forces since their inception, with a domestically-produced version of the AD-142 "Yastreb" Assault Rifle.
The Yastreb, a newer and more effective weapon, outstrips the AKM in terms of range, rate of fire and accuracy. The KoD said that this change will "better ensure the defence of the homeland in times to come."

President-Kommissariat calls upon Microkovljerakistani workers to revolt.
The President-Kommissariat today issued a declaration to the people of Microkovljerakistan to rise up against its Stalinist Bureaucratic system of oppression and move down the path of "Cynapsian State Socialism" to improve their lot (seen HERE (http://http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13043954&postcount=2).)
Microkovljerakistan, which is ran by a dictatorship that even describes itself as a "Big Brother" system, announced its intention to contact like-minded nations and attack protestors of their system. President-Kommissariat Coltrane issued a statement urging the workers to fight back.
Referendum on Socialist States at all-time high
An electronic demand for a referendum on the Socialist States reached an all-time high yesterday, when demands peaked at 7 percent.
Under the Basic Law, if a minimum of 10 percent of the population file for a referendum, a vote must then be taken on the desirability of the Socialist State system. Should the referendum fail, the USSC would officially disolve and hold multi-party elections.
A government spokesmen played down the matter as "still representative of the large majority view of the population."

Unrest in Mokastana
Rebellion swept through parts of Mokastana following weeks of tension against High Chancellor Franco Martinez's government, which swept to power in a vicious coup against the socialist government.
Cynapsia still maintains an embassy within Mokastana, but the new government has made little effort to contact the USSC to continue relations.
Police buildings were sieged as rioters used military equipment and squad tactics to push back the law enforcement agencies. The High Chancellor has issued a curfew and declared Martial Law over the entire country.
There has been no official response by the Cynapsian government, although a well-placed source within the government heirarchy suggested that "ideas were being explored."

Fordockian State releases Socialism Pamphlet
The Fordockian Government has released a political pamphlet in the vain of the Cynapsian government, describing a systen known as "Fordockian Socialism."
The Fordockain System, whilst similar to the Cynapsian System in many ways, has been derided by some University scholars as undemocratic.
"The country requires ninety percent of its parliament - the Consul - to remove its Socialist System," Brian Lech, Professor of Political Science at Auremville State University wrote in the leading political magazine "Enlightenment." Prof. Lech went on to describe this as "disproportionate and wrong."
Mokastana Government reels after Nuclear Attack
Mokastana is still reeling from the detonation of a tactical nuclear device in St. Avido, an area currently rebelling against the corrupt, capitalist government.
Whilst it is unclear as to the culprit, there has been finger-pointing by MNN, the nation's premier news broadcaster, towards the socialist rebel groups.
A Cynapsian government spokesman within the Kommissariat of Foreign Affairs was quoted as saying, "There is no conclusive evidence towards any party at this time," and sent condolences to the families of those killed in the blast.

President-Kommissariat calls for Left-Wing Solidarity, Forum of Delegates
President-Kommissariat Coltrane issued a call to the Left-Wing of the World to unite in closer ties in the universal and eternal fight against the Capitalist.
The full statement, which can be read HERE (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13058339#post13058339), called for a greater level of understanding and mutual respect for the varying systems of Socialist and Communist implementation across the world, respecting the different manners in which varying cultures moved forward to the same goals of peace, equality, democracy and liberty for all people.
War Continues in Zhyolatska, Igovians and USSEZ clash
Forces from the newly-formed United Socialist States of East Zhyolatska and Igovian rebels in the south of the former united confederation clashed today in early indications of a bloody struggle for the south and access to the Azov and the Black Sea.
It is understood the death toll stands at low levels, numbering only a few hundred, but that the battle is still being fought hard as USSEZ forces push for the city of Duhans'k in the south.
Elsewhere, Capitalist rebels keep up a guerilla war against Autonomist invaders, whilst the New Socialist faction has signed a peace pact with the Capitalists to establish a democratic system after the war ends.
Fighting continues on all fronts, bar the western border of the USSEZ which remains silent at this time.
First and Second Infantry Divisions to remain on extended training exercises.
The Kommissariat of Defence today announced that the 20,000 men of the First and Second Infantry Divisions would remain on extended training exercises for the time being.
A KoD spokesman claimed that this was part of creating "an effective defence force against foreign aggressors."
Debt to TWSP paid off
The outstanding debt on military equipment bought from The World Soviet Party has officially been paid off, according to the Kommissariat for the State Economy.
Cynapsia bought a large quantity of military equipment from TWSP, Cynapsia's largest and closest ally, in order to upgrade the fighting force of all areas of the Red Army.
A KSE spokesman informed the media that "new purchases of equipment were forthcoming."
