To begin, you must enlist. You will sign a contract which states the benefits, risks, and rewards for enlistment. At the bottom is a dotted line which you will sign if you accept. We have your interest in mind, and feel each one of you is an investment, one which we shall wish to see prosper and do great deeds. This training lasts ninety days, at the end of which will come a one hundred sixty kilometer forced march, and immediately afterwords, graduation and presentation to each soldier the Schwarzer Hut, or "Black Hat".

The last month of the five is spent learning your position in battle, called Advanced Personal Training Course (APTC). Here, you learn the skill which you shall utilize over the course of the next years. This may be any number of things, including various infantry positions (riflemen, grenadier, sniper, machinegunner, etc), Armor (which involves training as Tank Driver, Gunner, Loader, and Commander), Artillery, Cooking, Music, Administration, etc. Any of these career paths are equally favored, and ultimately necessary for the success and honor of the Legion. After thirty days learning your position, you are assigned to your Bekämpfen Sie Regiment, or "Combat Regiment". These are the military units which compose the Legion, and will be the organization you shall work with for the coming years.

As previously mentioned, there is a six month trial period. At this time, a consul from your nations Embassy along with your Commanding Officer shall meet with you, and discuss if you wish to remain in the Legion or not. If you do, you shall have to complete your term of service to Wanderjar, and may not back out at any other time. If you do leave, you will not recieve the benefits of Legionnaire service.
The opportunity for advancement is there. After one and a half years of service, you may be promoted to Unteroffizier (Corporal), and after another two years, to Unterfeldwebel (Sergeant). Advancement is based upon tests which you may take at any time after your first year of service, however one may only advance once every two years. One may even achieve Officer's rank, and make a career out of the Legion. After completing your five year service, you will be asked if you wish to reenlist. However, at this time you do not need to enlist for five years again, but rather for terms of two, five, and seven years to ensure that the Legionnaire selects the tour that is right for him.
