Journey to the Promised Land (CLOSED, MT ATTN WANDERJAR)

The massive fleet of cargo ships and tankers cut its way through the waters North of Nova Europa towards their final destination, the lands of the Prussians, namely Wanderjar. This location was chosen by the CEO of TRANCE after an encounter he had with a Wanderjarian General at a Toga Party a little while back, and he believed they would accept his people, all 2.4 billion of them, into their nation.

The old country had been a land of fortune for as long as they could remember, but that ended but a few months ago. TRANCE, after fighting the Infestation for about a year, with no more military options left, was forced to chemically bombard the surface of the nation. Though the Infestation was staved off, the survivors of the bombardment became refugees and set for the South at the orders of the CEO himself.

And now they were here. After a month at sea with little food and packed conditions, the shores of Wanderjar were almost in view. At the helm of the lead ship, a cargo tanker-turned-Flagship, the CEO hailed the Wanderjarians over the radio.

"Attention Wanderjar." he spoke, "This is Valentin Rovanovic, CEO if TRANCE and leader of the refugees of the Infestation. We come not in hostility, but in search of a home. Our last residence was destroyed at the hands of a mighty Plague, which cost us many of our relatives and friends. Please let us stay, for we don't think we would be welcome anywhere else." he paused and almost set down the speaker, but stopped himself. "And if you don't believe me, ask your General Richoff. He'll know who I am."

And with that, they waited for a response, anxious to know if they would stay or face another month at sea...

"Sir, we are picking numerous signals, they appear to be tankers and... transport ship, thoughts?"

"Let's wait and see, send a message to the Wanderjarians asking if they know anything about this."

“Mein Fuhrer,” Grosseadmiral Reinhardt, the Fuhrer’s personal aide and Chief of Staff said, “We have a situation that needs your immediate attention.”

“Yes mein freund,” Baker replied, looking up from the news paper which he had been reading, then setting it on his desk. “What’s on your mind?”

“Mein herr, a large, vastly large in fact, number of refugees has arrived upon our shores.”

“How many, exactly? A few thousand?”

“Well sir….a few billion is more precise.” Baker looked at the Grosseadmiral incredulously. His jaw flapped open, unable to speak.

“….What?”

“Two point four billion, mein herr.”

“How….did they…..get…them all here?”

“With every boat they could muster, they sailed here sir. They are presently sitting on the beaches of East Prussia, and hoping we’ll take them in.”

“Jesus Johan, if we do that it’ll ruin our economy!”

“I know that mein herr, we need your divine wisdom on the matter.”

“Well,” Baker thought for a moment. “What is the situation of the Nova Europan province of Nova Belarus?”

“Its presently unoccupied, mein herr.”

“Hmm…” Baker contemplated for a moment. “What of its infrastructure?”

“It has fully operable infrastructure, just not really a large population to work it.” Baker smiled widely at that statement.

“Excellent. Deploy the 1st Armee Korps. Have that entire region pacified, then move the Trance Corporation people into there and have them settle themselves into whatever professions and jobs they require. They’ll be given full Wanderjarian Citizenship, but taxed by us as well. Do they have any organized protection or police force?”

“Supposedly they have some form of Corporate Army. Back channel’s discussions say they’ll hand it all over in exchange for a regional Government of their own within our territory. Basically they want to be Wanderjarian, but have a little carve out of territory for themselves.”

“That’s acceptable. Have those Corporate Divisions base themselves within Nova Belarus after we’ve pacified it, and they can police themselves. Give them some Polizei advisors to set up a Wanderjarian like police force. Have them trained in Wanderjarian Law Enforcement, and the Laws of the Prussian Government.”

“Jawohl mein herr,” Reinhardt replied. “Anything else?”

“Nothing that I can think of. This should work. We’ll gain territory, and the population won’t tax our economy, but rather make it stronger. It should work…”

“I believe it will, mein herr,” Reinhardt stated. “I don’t see why it wouldn’t.”

“Good. Make it happen mein freund.”

“Right away.” With that, the Grosseadmiral turned and exited the room. Soon after the 1st Armee Korps, consisting of the 1st Panzer Division, 83rd Infanterie Division, 19th Panzer Division, and 23rd Motorised Infanterie Division crossed into Nova Belarus, and a Government message was broadcasted to the entire continent, announcing their annexation of Belarus, and their reasons for doing so. Hopefully it would be accepted by the other nations of Nova Europa, but if it were not, then the Wanderjarians were ready to respond with all necessary actions to defend their territory, old or newly gained….

The refugees moved off the boats by the millions and onto Wanderjarian soil, finally free from their cramped quarters on the sea. A makeshift refugee camp had been set up on the the ground above the beach. Corporate Security stood guard around them, looking stern as ever despite the fact that they had endured many a storm and rocky sea inside their cramped quarters for the last month.

From one ship, a tanker marked with a large fist emblem, groups of people chained together by their ankels and hands were filed off under the watch of Corporate Security, moving into an area barricaded off from the rest of the camp. They were prisoners saved from the Infestation, one of only three of the twenty total prisons in the Old Country able to be spared from the parasites.

Off of another ship, military equipment was unloaded and set up a makeshift base just outside the refugee camp to begin to plan the organization and transport of the refugees to wherever the Wanderjarians ordered. Now all they had to do was wait and maintain general order until the Wanderjarians arrived to help. They were finally free, and from this point on, each of them had a fresh start.

I would like to inquire on the nature of this latest annexation of yours, certainly, the current Wanderjarian territory has enough space and resources to serve it's population, so why go for more?

Tanks rolled down the major highways into each city, followed by thousands upon thousands of Wanderjarian infantrymen. Any resistance to Wanderjarian incursion was eliminated with the utmost extreme prejudice, and Luftwaffe fighter/bombers cruised overhead ensuring there was no resistance to the Wanderjarian infantrymen. There was little.

The Commanders brought in mobile HQ centers, rolling in the back of the advancing forces. They anticipated total pacification within a week. Corporate Divisions were called up to begin securing each town and city, sending larger units to the major cities, while using only battalions or even companies of soldiers to pacify the smaller towns and villages.

Baker was satisfied with the progress his men made in the opening of the invasion. He expected little resistance from a relatively anarchic and unoccupied region, and the population, thus far, was relatively cooperative. It was possibly due to the sheer masses mobilising against them, with tanks, bombers, helicopter gunships, everything. There really was no reason to resist. Victory against such a force was impossible. Fighting against the Wehrmacht could only lead to an unglorious death. However, the Wanderjarians did not have sheer imperialism on their mind with this invasion. Economically speaking the Belarusians would be better off under Wanderjarian rule, with their anarcho-capitalistic ideologies being shifted to support a Government, with law etc, to prevent any crime and corruption from hindering its progress. Yes, Baker knew, that this was in the best interest of those people.

And when it was fully pacified, and all had worked, they would all be better off. The Wanderjarians recieved many billions of new workers, soldiers, and supports, the Trance Enterprises people recieved a place where they could work and make a living, and the Belarusians had security now. All would be better.

Its necessary because of the large population thats just arrived at my doorstep. Funneling them into this new territory would decrease the economic hardship my nation would feel with their presence. It is necessary. Discussions of a pull out are worthless, it simply will not happen. My nation has never been affected by international pressure, and won't begin now. My friends, we know that this appears to simply be Wanderjarian aggression, but it truly is not the case. We have no interest in this territory other than our nation's economic security, which without would implode due to the social stresses of such a vast increase in population in such a short time. Hopefully the land growth and infrastructure lacking workers will stint some of the negative effects on my society.

Your friend,

~Fuhrer Christoph Baker of the First Wanderjarian Reich.

Certainly, there are better ways to solve this problem rather than just annexating random territories, have you thought about the possibility of dispersing the refugees among the good-willing nations of Nova Europa?
Establishing them in your own territory?

Again, this action can only be interpreted as opportunistic, thus, we are going to have to request you pull over, for security, international, and sovereignity issues. The Wanderjarian people have the rights to a free nation, so do the people in Nova Belarus.

I have indeed considered this option, and declined. I have an agenda in place for these people. However, the territory of Nova Belarus is not a nation. It is simply anarchic rabble without formalised government or regulation. Simply put, they are better off under Wanderjarian rule, and soon to be regionalised Government of the Trance Corporation, under the Wanderjarian Government itself.

I find it strange to believe, that after all their encounters with the Corporate Alliance, that the nation of Wanderjar would be so willing and quick to conquer new lands only to put them under the "goverment", if it can be called so, of a corporation.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to explain yourself.

I would be more than happy to. The Trance Corporation is the only surviving Governing system of these people. They're homeland was destroyed by a plague. The Trance Corporation saved them from Anarchy and transported them here, unless my understanding of their exodus is mistaken. I agree to take them in, make them Wanderjarian Citizens just like anyone else, and the Trance Corporation is allowed to maintain limited control of them in my territory, now Belarus. However, I still have ultimate power and control of their Government, it is merely so that they are all in one ethnic area, preventing any risk of racism or discrimination. They aren't Corporatist scum such as the Corporate Alliance memberstates are. In any event, the boost of abled bodied workers within my nation cannot be a bad thing anyhow, and the revenue which this Corporation has the potential to bring into my nation is a deffinate plus as well.
