Military: 1,060,250 Regulars, 250,000 Hashshashin Troops (Elites)
Ground Forces: There is no conscription in Caan, instead, the forces are picked from childhood from a select group of people. Regulars are equipped with muzzle-loaders, but the Hashshashins are equipped with better breech loading rifles.
Militias are common, and the militants in them are usually armed with older model rifles and muskets, though some do have breech loaders bought from gov't surplus. They are not counted in the official military number.
The Military Consists of no reserves. The militias can count as reserves, but its basically a bunch of men taken from the fields and factories in times of need who are given an old model gun and told what to do. They're only used in bad situations (like an invasion) and they really don't pose much of a threat...they're more like a "hold the line 'till the real troops get here" kind of force.

The Imperial Navy is organized into one main fleet and an auxiliary fleet. The Navy is mainly a defensive fleet but the Main Fleet is able to inflict good damage versus the smaller fleets of its neighbors.
Colonies:
The only true colony at the moment is the Crimea, though the lands of Northern Africa are considered the Outlands of the Empire.
Religion: Islam is a major part of everyday life with many of the peoples in the Empire praying two to three times a day to Allah, their god. The culture of the Empire is structured around the teachings of Islam, though women are given more rights in the Empire than in other places.
