No, socialists can join, just not communists. Although blurred, there is a difference.

Socialists can join, right, Seng Han? I'm partly socialist.

OOC: you realize by not allowing evil, corrupt and Psychotic nation you just narrowed your list of possible members to a very, very short one?

ooc: Just because I have to be excessively critical of these sorts of treaty organizations...

The Charter makes absolutely no provision concerning the establishment of mutual non-aggression - usually a no-brainer. But it is equally possible for a member to attack another member within the constraints of the treaty; I can imagine a treaty as loosely detailed as this would permit it too.

Here's one question that I think will help you, because your field of available applicants doesn't seem to match necessarily with the precepts that you've identified: What do you want to do with this? Arguably, anyone can make an alliance, but the really good ones have a reason to exist and persist. NATO was formed to combat the Communist Threat from the USSR and Warsaw Pact States. The European Community was formed to build closer economic partnerships (thereby reducing the likelihood that any European member would want to wage war against their neighbors). The UN was formed to serve as the guaranteer of peace and security throughout the world (likened the Roosevelt's vision of the Four Great Police States... except that idea never flied). This alliance/treaty organization seems to be there just because someone had the extra time to make one.

If you've got a reason to make an alliance, then state it. If your reason is "world peace and harmony," find another, because your definition of world peace and harmony differs from one person to another. For me, world peace means that I control the world... for someone else, it might them in control of the world. The topic is too broad. Something more tangible - there's a war in my neighborhood, and we need to band together to destroy the evil threat; that's a reason for an alliance.

Of course, if you're just doing this to pass the time, well, sorry to interrupt. Otherwise, welcome to the crazy world of NS International Incidents. Hopefully, people like me won't deter you from having a good time. Good luck with whatever else you are doing too!
