Operation: Adventure ((ATTN: Undershi))

Off the coast of Undershi

While the Corporate Alliance had foolishly ignored the signs of impending doom that was the Tocrowkian declaration of war, a massive fleet of warships had been building up near Undershi waters. Having been chosen as the unfortunate victim of the opening stages of Operation: Adventure, the current situation in Undershi would not be a pretty one. No indeed.

However, the Tocrowkians were in a particularly good mood, so they sent the following leader to whoever lead Undershi:

Good evening and Dark Greetings. As you are a member, or at least an associate of the bastard Corporate Alliance, you have been selected for invasion! Be warned, we will show no mercy to your nation and it's people once the first Tocrowkian sets foot in your pitiful land.

But we will give you one chance, and one chance only to surrender. If you do so, we promise to spare your people as we move on to destroy the other members of the Corporate Alliance.

The Undershi are a paranoid people. The Undershi are a sociopathic people and a militaristic people, and could be described with any number of other adjetives as well, one of the common denominators of which was that they were traits you didn't want in a neighbor.

They were prepared, however. That their militarism and paranoia ensured. Undershi was a nation where twenty six percent of the population kept the other seventy four percent down. It was a nation where every city had been designed for defense, with zig-zagging streets wide enough to admit Undershi heavy armour, with parks on the high ground that had bunkers and artillery positions where normal parks would have some fountain or sculpture. Undershi City had almost all of its truly vital functions - that is to say, government offices, armament factories and arsenals, under ground. Most other Undershi cities followed suit.

The Undershi coast was amoung the best defended in the world - there was a nickname for the coast of Undershi Province, near Undershi City. The Iron Coast. Sometimes it was called the grey coast, but names are insignificant really - it was a single long network of bunkers and artillery positions and razor wire and mines and... well, pretty much if it could kill people or help defend a position, it was there.

The rest of the shore was less well defended, but still better held than most. The entire coast was covered by hardened missile sites with overlapping areas of fire. Any attempt to land would be met with a ferocious hail of missile fire, followed by ferocious resistance to any landing.

Every True Undershi in the Undershi Empire was a soldier of some sort or a reservist - both men and women serve and fight. True, most were not members of the active military - but they all had gear, and the reservists trained every weekend for their entire lives, and four full weeks a year.

In short, Undershi had little to fear from an invasion - if the enemy managed to get ashore, they would find themselves under constant attack, forced to assault row after row of prepared defenses.

Undershi was already a meat grinder - all that now remained was for the enemy to insert its hand.

The following response was sent to the Tocrowkian commander:

The Undershi Empire will resist your invasion until the last True Undershi lies dead. We do not expect mercy, and we will have none for you when your invasion inevitably fails. Do not think we are intimidated by your numerical advantage, others stronger than we were thought to do what you now attempt - No_State_At_All was one of them. Now the descendents of the troops who invaded and failed and were captured labor for the glory of Undershi. Perhaps someday such will be the case with your soldiers. Or perhaps we will not bother with prisoners. Do your worst. We will be waiting.

OOC: Glorified BUMP...

Corporal Saddat of the Undershi Army Corp of Engineers shouted orders at the norm conscripts as they laid the last of the newer mines on the beach. He felt exposed on the shore, outside of the massive reinforced concrete bunkers that housed the Undershi defenses and gave the iron coast its name.

The last of the tank trap, mines and razor wire had been laid out, the troops were in position, the missile launchers and the artillery was all prepared and well supplied with ammunition... the Undershi defenders were as ready as they would ever be, or would be in a matter of minutes, when the damned norms finished laying out those mines...

He glanced at the sky in a moment of nerves as he heard a sonic boom - but, no worries - it was a flight of the new Undershi Lightningbolts out on patrol. Probably flying out of Pheonix Airfield or one of the smaller sites protecting Port Baxter and the Undershi fleet anchored there...

Or maybe from some other airfield - there were a lot of them, and there was no way he could keep track of all of them.

The norms finished laying the mines, and he began to shout for them to hurry in off the shore. Everything lay in readiness - mines were in place, and bunkers and pillboxes and trenches and artillery and missiles and underground tunnels connecting the bunkers, a regular Maginot line along the shore...

And behind this line, there was another just as strong, and another line behind that, all connected with tunnels that could be easily brought down, so that the troops holding the line in front could retreat to the line behind with relative ease, and without exposing themselves to enemy fire.

It was a good design, a testement to Undershi engineering. He was proud of it - the enemy would assault it, and they would break. Of that he was sure.

OOC: Okay, understood. However, I need to know the timeframe you had in mind - in other words, should I get involved in other RPs or not? How long until you'll be ready to do the RP?

OOC: Alright, understood. I hope everything goes well with your life - RL always should get top priority. How about we ignore this thread, and you can make a new one whenever you feel like it?
