Lets start some militry training exercizes (not for real)
This will be on the coast of Mesotarian and can continue into the mainland

The third ship of the new Holocaust class, the Inferno, needed testing out. The railgun team on board needed much more experience in firing the railguns.
Therefore, before it was put on the active list, it was decided that it should join in in a full amphibious assault, supported by eight transports with the 1st and 2nd Whiteshield divisions.
This would be one hell of a training operation. It would be valuable for the cadets, and for the crew of the ship.

A MIG-21 spotted the fleet and was able to say its basic size and cordinates before being shot down by the rail guns. All Patrol boats in the area headed straight for the fleet. The only port in Mesotarian was placed on lockdown while local militry forces prepared for invasion.

The men aboard the APS Inferno shot down the MiG easily with the onboard BOFORS cannons. The railguns were ready for the preliminary bombardment.
The men aboard locked the guns into position, then loaded the projectiles that would be used first: the marker blocks.
They fired, and the sky was illuminated by the bright white flares from the 8 projectiles. Brilliant. They had aimed almost perfectly. Now to begin the main bombardment.
The guns fired agin, and 8 tungsten projectiles ripped through air, leaving a burning trail. The coastal defences stood no chance.

The whiteshields aboard the transport were worried: this seemed a lot more real than they had thought at first.
The command came for them to load check thier equipment, before making their way to the 10 man landing crafts.

The radar aboard one transport spotted incoming patrol boats not far off.
Request came in for a missile strike.
It was granted.

On the mainland, 5 AAF B-01s armed each with 2 Exocet III anti-ship missiles were scrambled, and took off. They activated tehir afterburners, to achieve maximum velocity. They would reach thier targets in 10 minutes.

The 20 patrol boats opened fire with their mortors sinking 3 amphibouis craft. The amphibouis craft sunk 5 of the Patrol boats. The rest of the patrol boats raced straight towards the frigites. The frigates immediatly opened fire destroying 8 of the patrol craft. The 7 remaining craft fired all available weapons on the frigates with a hit and run style. Several of the frigates reiceived damage to their weapons. The patrol boats then retreated for repairs and reinforcments. 2 more patrol boats were sunk by cannon fire.
5 MIGS were scrammbled armed with rocket to water torpedoes.
The Inferno finished it's bombardment of the enemy defences: they were practically non-existant now.
It loaded with the special expanding Anti-ship rounds, before opening fire directly at the retreating enemy.

The whiteshields were very nervous now: guns had been firing everywhere, and it looked like one of the transports and a couple frigates were very badly damaged.
But soon, they would land on the beach.

The planes were in range now: each one launched an exocet missile at the retreating patrol boats, before RADAR alerted them to enemy MiGs. They closed their internal bays, and circled, before increasing in altitude.

The 20 AF - 98 fighters in Alfegos were scrambled jsut behind the bombers, and soon would be able to intercept the enemy.

Part of the amphibious force diverted off. It would be used to completely surprise the enemy by landing 5 miles down the coast, to try and flank the enemy in the port.
