Letter to the Government of Nevada

Dear Nevada,

We here in the VDB would like to offer you a deal, a pretty good one compared to the fact of the animosity you have showed us in recent and past years, especially with the false promises of hunting down the terrorists that live in Nevada. You may become the second state of the Allied States of Vanek Drury Brieres, with the ability to have your own state government however you like it. It sounds good to us. Is it a deal?

Princes of the VDB

Nevada, the former Silver State of the USA, was a sovereign territory, governed by its own rules, and with a fierce sort of independence. The Air Force was it's pride-the army only a supplement, more of a "national guard" kind of army. It was a strong air force, at that-mighty Nellis AFB outside of the Queen City of Las Vegas, and Fallon AFB. It wasn't a really rich Ameriacn nation-but it ahd enough power to hold its own. It's dominant neighbor, California, one of the titans of the new America, had always been the one to watch-the VDB to the South was only a bit of a nuissance.

Now the VDB thought it'd be a great idea to invade Nevada for some random reason. Well, it was time to show what air superiority could do for a nation. It was pretty clear that the VDB's first few moves would determine the course of the war-the majority of Nevada's forces were clustered to the nation's southern tip. Nellis itself was loaded-MQ-9 Reapers, F-22 Raptors, Eagles, Falcons, Thunderbolt IIs, and Lancers all made up the mighty force. Fallon was smaller, but by no means light-it was stocked full of F/A-18 E/F Super Hornets and F-16 Falcons that had been left around, along with P-3 Orions that had once been naval aircraft for the USA. The Nevadan government had worked around with the P-3s a tad, and now they were impromptu bomber units. F-5E Tiger units were also stationed, formerly as aggressor units, but also capable of close support to the weaker army units.

Either way, they were more than prepared for a VDB attack-no response was given to the VDB, to only leave their government wondering. Rather, the response was given in action-army forces began mobilizing, albeit in small numbers, and were set into groups to try and maximize their own ability. The air groups began getting set for the obvious invasion.

The spies in the VDB reported an air force mobilization, so the VDB did the same. Except with their army. Their air force was already mobilized, so they were ready for war. Their navy did not exist. Davis-Monthan AFB had F-16D Fighting Falcons, F-22A Raptors, F-35 Lightning lls, C-130 Hercules, Hughes H-6s, and B-2 Spirits. Luke AFB had B-1 Lancers, AH-56 Cheyenne, and H-3 Sea Kings.

Then the commandos were summoned in the replacement Palace built before the previous one got destroyed. "Listen," said Thomas Vanek. "We're going to send you on a top-secret mission. No one under Alpha A Plus clearance should know. Your object-destroy the leaders of Nevada. But make it seem suicidial or an accident-we want to avoid war as long as we can. Mobilize at Davis-Monthan. When we give you the signal, you will have one week (NS, about a eight of a RL day) Understood? Good."

Another part of the elite commandos was summoned. "OK, you guys need to sneak into Nevada, preferably via California, now. Position yourselves near NAS Fallon and Nellis AFB and when war starts," said Prince Daniel Briere, handing them grenades, "Use these babies." He handed them small time bombs, that placed in the right spot, could do tons of damage.

The commandos headed out in inconspicious cars (Chevy Trailblazers, Silverados, and Impalas mainly) to carry out their mission.
