Disaster in Rodensia

Rodensia

King's Parliament Offices
Rodensia Square
Rilasta
1100 hours

King Arutha Milain paced behind the desk of his modest office, located above the main parliament chamber. A look of fear mixed with determination on his face, an angry glare in his dark brown eyes. He stopped and looked out of the large window, facing onto the main market square of Rilasta.
"What have I done? Once, this nation was nothing but villages and towns, squabbling over fields and forests. No leadership, no progression. I did not strive for ten long years to bring all together under my rule to see this!" He struck the window with his hand and let out a scream of frustration.
A knock at the door preceded the rushed entrance of Home Affairs minister Adam Garrett, who appeared to be in as much despair as the King.
"Your Majesty, forgive my intrusion but we must begin to make plans for our recovery. If you would just look at the manifest I have..."

"PLANS? What plan can you have to solve this? We are losing control, we are losing the trust of the people I am sworn to protect! I removed half the agricultural workforce in a vain attempt to modernise our nation... I tried to turn farmers into engineers, IT specialists and corporate businessmen. Now we have an infrastructure to match many, a communications network never before imagined in this backwater country, a fresh and booming economy... and millions of people just weeks away from starvation!"

"Sire, please, with your permission I plan to implement a strict rationing system for food which shall stretch our supplies out by a number of months. We can pass a law making it compulsory for all houseowners to grow food in their gardens, we can..."

"Enough! What you suggest is removing some of the few freedoms allowed our people since I brought these people under one flag. 15 years ago, I was nothing more than a Mayor of Rilasta. To our townspeople, we were a nation. But I wanted more. I wanted all the surrounding villages, towns and tribes to become one, larger community. And so I embarked on a bold plan to bring them all together. I negotiated, compromised, bribed and bullied. For two entire years I fought wars with some of the less willing village leaders. People died for my vision. I sought prosperity for us all... and it has gone so well, until now. Look upon what we have made, we have bled for, what men have died for. We have skyscrapers, computers, thriving automobile sales, television broadcasting around the clock, a police force, a conscripted army of more that 100,000 men, and no damned food! All it took was one tough winter to destroy all we have done..."

"Your Majesty, all is not lost. We can ration the food, we can increase hunting teams. Just look over my proposals and you shall see there is a solution."

"No, we must not restrict our people any more. Oppression of their rights' will lead to riots, uprisings and a return to what we were before. I will not have that!"

"Then Sire, we are doomed."

"Perhaps, if we remain isolated from the international community. But what if we don't..."

"Sir?"

"Trade Mr Garrett, trade! We trade within our country, but why not outside? We have some resources beyond our need, we have great supplies of many metals and various natural supplies that others may not. In return, we can bolster our food reserves. Yes! It's so simple. Bring parliament to order... we're going to set up a Foreign Affairs ministry... we need to make contact with the outside world. How can our people have a national identity if we don't have other nations to look upon?"
Rodensia
13-08-2007, 12:23
King Arutha strode into the parliament chamber, where gathered the elected members of government.

"Honourable gentlemen and ladies. For the first time since we ended our revolution we are in dire trouble. We shall soon have a famine if we do not bring in food from other sources. As such, I am creating a foreign ministry, to be headed by our representative from the county of Deminda, Landon Grasso."

Hushed but worried voices reverberated around the large hall that served as Rodensia's seat of government. One overly-excited member jumped up and shouted. "Your Majesty, our peoples are still adapting to the idea of calling each other countrymen, surely this is too soon to be bringing in foreign ideas and cultures? There would be great fear and distrust, as some still remains between towns within our own country!"

Adam Garrett, Home Affairs minister, answered "Yes, there are still hangovers from our fractured past, but this cannot be used as an excuse to prevent our emergence in the international community. We must trade with our neighbours, we must establish diplomatic relationships further afield than this hall."

"And now is the time we must do so. You all know the situation we are in, and there is no solution left to solve this crisis on our own. We are not pleading help from outsiders, merely a chance to trade for mutual benefit." Added Arutha.

A heated debate followed between the leaders of this newly-born nation, some of whom feared the radical changes this could entail, others openly welcoming the chance to open the nation up to new ideas and styles of life.

"Gentlemen and ladies, this is a democratic system we have, regardless of my title of King. I do have the power to force this without agreement, but will never do so. We shall have a ballot on this issue. Please make your votes." Arutha said.

Using an electronic voting system, seemingly out of place amongst the low-tech look of the great chamber, the 150 Province leaders placed their votes.

Arutha read his monitor, and after the last vote had been polled, announced "Gentlemen! It appears reason has prevailed. By a vote of 113-37, the motion to open embassies and create a ministry for Foreign Affairs has passed. Mr Grasso, please immediately begin recruitment for your department, and send out invitations to open embassies in our capital."

"Council dismissed!" Cried the Speaker as Arutha left his throne and returned to his private rooms.

Official Invitation from Rodensian Ministry for Foreign Affairs

King Arutha openly invites members of the international community to join our nation in a trade of ambassadors. If any nation wishes to open diplomatic channels please reply with the full name of your nation and that of your proposed ambassador.

Please note at this time, trade agreements are the only accords that the Kingdom of Rodensia is open to. Military pacts are yet to be offered or accepted.

The Republic of Freeseas is ready to trade ambassadors with Rodensia, Your Majesty. And I would also like to discuss a plan for food aid, should you need it.
The ambassador I propose for the trading in Fabrice d'Aubreville, one well-versed in economics and politics, despite our Republic being relatively young.

Department of Trade

The Alfegos government wishes to send the ambassador Philip Ericsson to your nation to negotiate a trade agreement.

We are willing to trade 40 000 tons of rice and 10 000 tons of fish a month to your nation for a year, until this crisis is resolved.

In exchange, we wish to know what natural resource you have, to speak of. We would engage in trade if you had any deposits of Manganese or Tin ore, or large amounts of Bauxite.

We will send the ambassador via jet to your capital city, to arrive within 2 hours. There, we can negotiate trade.

We look foreward to doing business to you,

To the gracious Mr Ovril,

The King was most pleased to hear of your fantastically generous offer. Please accept my humble apologies for the slow reply. We are more than excited by the prospect of this possible trade.

As to the natural resources in Rodensia, we have massive supplies of tin, copper and iron ore, and Rodensian researchers have recently discovered vast deposits of uranium in our natural rainforests. Although King Arutha is dedicated to the preservation of these areas of splendid beauty, we are willing to negotiate mining rights to some limited areas of our countryside.

As we are yet to found an international trade department, we would be delighted for Mr Ericsson to meet with myself, and Internal Trade Affairs Minister, Mr James Mantel.

Your aid is graciously welcomed by His Majesty King Arutha Milain, and in return an excellent spot upon the soon-to-be constructed "Embassy Row". We will offer you some percentage of our storehouse food, five hundred thousand tonnes of wheat. We understand that your nation is in many rough times as of now, and the demand for food is high. So we offer you this. Allow our government to establish sixteen mining forts in your town, along with two ports for the independent transport of the good from these mining establishments to Buddha C or other necessary places. Along with this a standing trade of twenty thousand tonnes of rice a year, and we will have an economic deal that befits both of us. The only requirement for this deal is that you continue your quiet existence and allow four Buddhist monasteries to rise on your ground, and be guarded by Cnian personnel.

King Arutha strode across the the looming figure of Internation One, PM Flower's personal Boeing 747 to greet the incoming State leader of New Brittonia.

"Prime Minister, it is a pleasure and an honour to meet you. To my left is Landon Grasso, my Minister for Foreign Affairs. He will be pleased to brief you on the current situation" Arutha greeted the Prime Minister with a firm handshake.

"Prime Minister Flower, Rodensia is an eccentric mix of modern and almost medieval technology. We have vast communications system, a relatively modern army, grand buildings and information technology to rival some of the best. However, the country still relies on an outdated agricultural system for food, with no processing plants, supermarkets are rare and much trade is conducted from stalls in market squares and farming markets. Food is our ultimate concern in the short-term, however we would gladly accept your wisdom and teaching in affairs of better food growth and processing"

We are most thankful for your offer of a trade relation with your glorious nation. We are most intrigued by your monasteries, as we have little religion in our country, and would be delighted to import such ideas. However there is some concern of the "Cnian personnel". We are scant ready to accept foreign military personnel into our borders at this moment in time. If you are able to relieve us of this worry over the militant state of these guards, we may be able to come to an agreement between our nations.

The term Cnian personnel simply means security guards from independent companies who were born in our nation. We understand that new religion would most-likely upset the natural populous and we hold our Buddhist monks in high regard, being ninety-nine point nine percent Buddhist we find ourselves inclined to protect our holy ones. So, for the protection of our holy people, you must allow our Cnian security personnel to protect the holy people. Also, along with the monastery, we also require that we are allowed to spread the texts of Buddha and convert anyone willing to Buddhism, encase this was not clear in the former leader.

We understand your security fears for your religious people in a new foreign nation. We are pleased to accept their presence in your monasteries, assuming they are restricted to minor arms, such as pistols.

It is necessary however to come to a compromise over the extent of your overall activity in the country for fear of xenophobic reactions from a somewhat suspicious populace. We would like to limit the monasteries to number two, one to be sited in Deminda, a prospering city in the agricultural centre of the northern region, and the other in our growing capital, Rilasta, situated conveniently just 3km from our southern shore. We are able to offer use of our main port at Hrustan, with 8 large warehouses solely for the use of your people, and 12 viable and rich mining centres located 15km east of Rilasta. I am embarassed to say that some resurfacing works will need to take place on the roads to this largely unpopulated area, which we are currently able to afford to complete. However if this appears agreeable to your good selves, we are happy to open an embassy in your honour.

Indeed, your offers have been accepted. Hrustan is an agreeable entry place to our nation.

Our political standing is Democratic, despite our monarch who although officially holds full power over government and the armed forces. His Supreme Power is not used however, as He is a kind and benevolent ruler, who wishes nothing more than prosperity for His peoples.

Our "councillors" are democratically elected, one from each town and village of a population over 50,000 people, with smaller villages participating in the voting of a neighboroughing town.

The appointment of Ministers is a right reserved by the ruling monarch, who may change ministry heads no more frequently than once each year, on midsummer's day as per the National Treaty.

Jason Wyld stood next to a pillar as he watched the group of some six hundred men unload from their transport, about a dozen company owned ferry. Jason held onto his pistol as he watched the strange people of Rodensia go about their business, a few kids stopping to point and laugh at the Buddhist monks that were dressed, atleast to them, oddly. Wyld forced them away by un-holstering his pistol as he stared into their eyes, scaring them away. Now with his FN Forty-nine fully drawn in his left hand he took out a cigarette, placing it between his lips using his left hand, and lit it. Breathing it in similar to fresh mountain air.

Wyld stood there for four days as he watched the group of construction workers work on the port that they were creating seventeen kilometers north of Hrustan, the monks had decided to stay with the group as to give them spiritual protection from falling object, which have no incidents have happened so far. He watched as a vehicle sped by, probably a rush hour worker going to his job, his gun still in its holster. "I wonder what religion these guys follow..." His thoughts drifted off, thoughts of Middle Eastern woman dancing about, lap dances, the excitement of that.

His Majesty, King Arutha Milain is humbled by such a fine offer of aid. Our nation is more than open to offers of new cultures, ideas and religions, as our peoples are mostly without a recognised religion, and we should hope that your presence be a calming and enlightening one on our populace. We have recently accepted the building of two Buddhist monasteries, one in our capital Rilasta, and our agricultural hub in the north, Deminda. If it is acceptable, we propose that your cathedrals be sited in those same cities. Until the impact upon those cities can be gathered, we respectfully decline the invitation to allow the building of further religious sites in other areas of the country. However should a favourable reaction be observed, we would welcome the spread of organised belief in our nation. Landon Grasso sensed the distrust in his Lord, and immediately attempted to reduce the tension. Ambassador Lisa Onary's jet took a landing into the Rodensia airstrip, and she and her entourage of scientists and economical experts {Four of which were security personal in disguise} left the jet, and walked towards the building which they assumed was the airport. Lisa was a tall woman, and narrow, but curiosity filled her face, delight evident across it as she saw the distant rain forests of this beautiful country. Then, though, she saw the beginnings of what must have been the uranium mining the King's letter spoke of. This would not do, she though. She'd have to discuss it with him. Then she was distracted by a rather shiny rock on the ground. She picked it up and quickly had one of the geologists with her identify it as a large chunk of rose quartz with spikes of amethyst somehow fused to it. That was quite interesting. She whispered hurridly then to one of the environmental scientists with her, begining the forms of an argument to stop this destruction of natural habitat and gorgeous landscape. "Some things are more important than money, or even food..." she muttered a little angrily. They arrived at the airport facility, and waited for the arrival for the Rodensian representative. This would hopefully be a good meeting, where all involved would learn and gain.

OOC This is time dated a bit forward, enough time for the journey and to have the embassy basically ready.

One slippered foot smashed down on the pier with all the force and intent of an invading army. Beside it more feet began to come down landing for the first time in Rondensia. Bishop Archean had been the first and know looked around with an air of questioning good naturedness.

"One Hundred thousand tones of aide bought us this?" His diplomatic staff, which as usual for the Divine Empire was composed entirely of clerics and soldiers was lugging personal effects off a small bot that had brought them from the transport. "Still who are we to question Cardinal Thousis and indeed God's very will on our mission here. Lucky we wrote ahead and told them not to make a fuss about our arrival, one or two porters would have obscured the street." Gerald Pembroke the Aide de Campe od the Bishop gave a dutiful little laugh at his employer's "wit" and pulled a suit case down.

"We have the address for the embassy, and our cars should be offloaded from the freighter within two hours or so."

Archean gazed around some more, in Waldenburg all cities we soot filled deserts with criminals and soldiers lining the streets in turn. This place without any giant reptiles to impede your progress on the street, seemed tranquil in comparison to the everyday pollution and violence of an Imperial street. "I believe we shall walk, it seems a nice enough day, I'm sure there will be a delightful street urchin coming along any second to carry our bags." This too was a common fixture of street life for the Bishop and his men. "If not just throw them back on the boat and we'll be back."

Once a pace had been obtained four Soldiers of the Divine Legion fell into step around the Bishop in a loose circle. If the vestments of the clergy did not capture the eye of the common citizens the two meter bulk, yellow velvet cloaks, and the rifles casually slung over the shoulders of the Divine Legionaries then the world was indeed a dull place.

"Let us not see what these Buddhists are like. I have always wanted to meet one, in fact I believe Captain Svenbe you were presented with a gift to give to the Ambassador of Buddha by the Divine Marshall himself?" The Captain only smiled and buttoned his bulging jacket tighter to his body.

{{OOC: Just to let you know OOCly there is no Cnian Ambassador coming to the country. We're just here for economic and religious readings. Though the Eldest Buddhist Priest may talk to the Rodensian king and consul as a separate ambassador, so he could be ICly mistaken for one. Also, does anyone know where I could find something that could translate Mandurian letter words into Alphabetic letters? I.E. Originally the RPG-7 Reaktivniy Protivotankovey Granatamyot, instead of ручной противотанковый гранатомёт.}}

The majority of the Cnians that were being sent to Rodensia were at the construction site of the first port. It had been named Port WaterWood {{Will change as soon as I find the right translation into Pheonix writable letters}} and the main construction focus as of now was to finish the frame, which had been placed nicely around the dock. The constant sweat of the Buddhist workers, who chose this duty as to clear their minds and purify their bodies threw sweat of a hard days work.

Miun Chao worked hard, harder then most to become a Banita, a warrior monk in the Rushi sect that fought directly under the Grand Chancellor. He followed Mai Wolng, his mentor and Eldest Priest of both priesthoods that had been sent to establish the two monasteries. His muscles grew as day after day he swung his hammer, cut down logs, even sanded down planks of wood with a small tool that worked his finger, wrist, and forearm muscles, creating an elegant piece of wood for the frame. And time and time again, he did this working to his full potential, never stopping, always trying... It was at this time he noticed a group of wide men move towards them, directly into the camp, most likely some kind of strong man circus act trying to establish themselves in a new city, to eyes it seemed already build in an alien way, dozens of large, rounded buildings jutted out in rows, and in all of them a bit of darker-coloured dirt had been placed, establishing odd rows. The rounded buildings, which made up the most visible part of the new town were placed on the outside, their frame was nothing more and large trees that had been cut down and sanded, placed in a circle, then a cutdown tree being placed in the middle would allow the beautiful orange and red drapes to flow on the ground, never seeming to get dirt due to the special material.

It was near this time of thought Miun Chao realized the men were heading towards Eldest Priest Mai Wolng, who was at that time teaching a small class of ten students in the art of Mu Thai, the newly adopted martial arts since most others had been to defensive. One of the shorter men, yet well dressed men began to speak with him, Mai Wolng interrupted his class and responded...

TO: His Majesty King Arutha of Rodensia
FROM: Robert Donovan, Foreign Minister, Commonwealth of Tolvan

RE: Aid

The Commonwealth of Tolvan is prepared to deploy a Civil Affairs Battalion to your soil. This unit will undertake a variety of projects designed to boost the standard of living in your nation. In addition to distributing food it will drill wells in outlying areas to increase access to potable water, upgrade road systems, establish free medical clinics, and train your police and military. While the personnel will be armed, their mission is not a military one but one of a humanitarian nature.

What is your reply?

OOC: Of course if you accept I'll proably sneak some Special Forces and NDI (Tolvanic CIA) agents into your country to cause some mischief.

OOC Mandurian? Can't say I've ever even heard of it, and any google search only turns up with Manchurian. Is it some sort of Cyrillic Dialect?

IC

The Bishop paid no heed to any signs or hints of unwelcome but wandered into the Buddhist camp poking the occasional wall and feeling down the long smooth surfaces of the boards. Others of his entourage followed suit inspecting some construction supplies and pulling gently on some of the robes, and shirts inspecting in great detail everything foreign they could find.

Archean sauntered over to a man pickled enough to be a leader and started to speak in a boisterous, and friendly roar. "Good Morning to Ya! I do apologize if we are breaking up your excellent construction but had to come over and see for ourselves, absolutely amazing. We're the new Waldenburger envoy," the Bishop paused a quick second and looked around in mock surprise, "well if we are in the right location you must be the Buddhists, the ones we've heard so much about. Seems as we are both in a foreign land for a first time! We must become friends! Aville!," The Bishop waved over a Archdeacon and linked arms with him, then indicating to the rest of his dozen man entourage to join him.

The small circle of men started to spin signing in bass register in a deep Germanic Language. Dust started to kick up around the swaying robes and cloaks of the Divine Empire's most Holy and soldierly men. "Dvey!" The Circle broke outwards and reformed in an instant, dust nor pouring out of the construction sight.

All but one of the Waldenburgers joined the circle, only one man his jacket tight about him was not in the circle, one man was slipping behind piles of lumber and dirt. If several armed men, a dancing Bishop and a forming dust cloud didn't distract the Buddhists from the true mission then nothing would. Captain Svenbe drifted as far away from the noise as he thought reasonable before opening his jacket and removing eight large red bricks from his jacket. He stacked them quickly in a pile and scattered some dirt on the pile, he looked around again hopefully back here he would not be seen. Within a minute though he was strolling back, casually taking in the construction.

"Morit avasta Rey Ne rey!" The circle broke and the Bishop was bowing low to what he believed was the Buddhist master," Now we are friends! So I shall leave you to your work and not interrupt you any more!" The squad bowed and Svenbe appearing behind a mound of dirt casually trotted off. Hopefully they would be to entirely confused by the show they wouldn't even have thought where Svenbe had been.

Within fifty yards the entire squad broke into laughter, silent for the moment as they hurried away, "The Dance of Friendship...."

Svenbe whispered to the Bishop, "All of them are laid, I don't think anyone saw me and even if they did I doubt they will do anything."

"And win will they receive our gift?"

"The Next time it rains, any water at all.... Or when they get the urge to smash bricks together, but I'd wait for the rain, or some monk who's in a hurry. And good job your Grace."

"Why's that? I should be complimenting you captain, White Phosphorus is a difficult present to find."

"I have never seen the dance of friendship performed so well. And so quickly hardly had time for any of the Bastards to speak to us."

Miun Chao stared oddly at the men as they exited master Mai's presence. His curiosity peeked by the odd dancing, idiotic to his eyes, but maybe in meant something religiously. Despite his content work he stopped at the site of the bulk, over muscled men that departed. He began his hard days work as he watched Mentor Mai's continuation of his class, their elegant form of Mu Thai that had been blended into a Brazilian dance fighting technique, though the focus of this was to merely knock the enemy of balance for the painful elbow strike to the head to be launched with greater ease and resistance.

Monk Miun Chao worked after sun down, unlike most of his fellow workers who had slept by now, Monk Chao and several other monks began their work, erecting three pillars of framing wood before it began to rain. He began to notice an ominous looking white cloud engulf the north western side of the town, seeing smoke from fire slowly beginning to mask the white cloud. Dozens, maybe hundreds of people ran this way and that. By the time Chao had gained his wits a group of sixteen guardsman were running towards them, followed by a group of eighty-sum monks, led by Eldest Priest Mai.

Eldest Priest Mai yelled to his apprentice and the other monks working on the frame of the port. "Run into the ocean! Hurry!" And Monk Chao followed orders, along with the large mob and his fellow monks, except one man. Who walked towards the pillar of white smoke, eerily challenging it to a battle of will. It seemed to stop at its presence, as if surprised by it, but fires began to spark on the wood frame soon after, and then the white cloud quickened its pace, burning the monk alive, his skin sheering off, yet you heard no cries. No screeches of pain, the monks had been taught at birth to follow the code of no feeling, unless necessary. The feeling of anger, necessary in battle, the feeling of revenge, necessary in success, the feeling of pain, necessary in small amounts or not at all. Threw these you could be enlightened in the teachings of Buddha C.

The pillar of smoke began to reach at the edges of the ocean's shores. "Move farther into the water!" A security officer ordered, and the exodus began, swimming into the deep blue water, extending themselves until the white cloud of smoke began to dissipate, moving in only when it was completely gone.

Several hours Monk Chao, his mentor, and the other random survivors began swimming back to the city, it took hours, as the current was against them at high tide, and their pace further halted by sheer exhaustion from swimming away from the death cloud. "We've got to get back and find what the fuck happened!" The same security officer ordered, and his pace quickened, leading the pact. Chao, along with other monks forgot their pain and swam forward, flying past the security officers, even the lead, graceful in resemblance to swans.

As the group reached the shores they all passed out from exhaustion, arising in the blazing temperatures of mid-day, due to their natural dark complexion they had not suffered sunburn. Monk Chao peered at the port in construction, it was charred to the ground, well except the brick houses that had been placed in the middle of the city that was located just outside the port's construction area. "Who would do this." He clenched his fist tighter.

His mentor and leader came up behind him, putting his hand on the young boy's shoulder. "We shall leave this place." He breathed in the soot filled air, coughing several times heavily before catching himself and continuing his words, "Begin to establish our monasteries in the outside of the cities, their we can strike out at our assailants, bring them to their knees, punish them." And so Elder Priest Mai's followers, half of the monks and half of the security officers, plus about a hundred twenty surviving construction workers made their way to the hill surrounding the Rodensian capitol, to establish themselves...

Many thanks for your offer of sending aid workers into the nation to distribute food and supplies to our population. We graciously accept your proposal of LIGHTLY armed personnel to train our police and military, and we cannot refuse the help with our infrastructure. In return, we would like to offer 10 prime mining locations in the west of our country. The west is a mountainous area which as yet remains untapped by our own mining companies. We hope this is the foundation of a long and prosperous relationship between our nations.

Port "WaterWood"
South coast of Rodensia
Construction site of Buddha C

Four young Rodensian men stood a short distance from the construction site that their King had agreed to hand over the the workforce from Buddha C.

One of the men lit a cigarette and stared at the strangely-dressed monks surrounding the workers. He turned to his companions and said "Would ya look at that? Didn't we propose a new port to the Great Council? Instead they whore out our land and treat us like we're idiots, unable to construct our own port? And this is only the beginning. It starts with agreements to let them do little things here and there, next they'll be in our government, then they will BE our government."

The other three looked at him questioningly, before one spoke up. "It's not all that bad. Just look at some of the equipment they're using. You ever seen anything like that? Besides, once they've done all the work, its us who'll get to use it!"

"You really believe that?" the first man asked. "You think they'll be happy just to do all the hard work and hand it over to us, just like that? No, they'll take and take from us, until we're just another colony of some foreign superstate who will destroy our way of life. We can't let that happen. And if the King isn't gonna do something about it, we will. Go get the rest of our mining company together. We'll meet at the company offices over in Untosa, its only a mile away from here. We'll show these guys whose country this is."

Timothy Graham, own of the RCC, walked into the main conference room of the building. Inside, he was greeted by 80 construction workers, loyal to him as he helped them profit from the massive rebuilding work taking place throughout the nation in the last decade.

"Gentlemen, you've no doubt seen the invasion of foreign workers, taking our jobs and our ideas from us. It appears our King has no faith in those who've supported him and helped make this nation what it is today. Well, my son has an idea to send him, and these outsiders, a message."

Marcus stood up from his chair and addressed the men. "It is quite simple. We have proven our efficiency and effectives time and again, and new ports should be our contract. So we must show our leader that his imported help will experience problems in a new land. I propose nothing subtle. I propose complete destruction of the new port "Waterwood". That will soon send these dress-wearing men back to their home."

Startled looks crossed the faces of those gathered in the room. After a moment of silence however, small hushed discussions began between groups of men feeling shunned and betrayed by King Arutha's willingness to discard their loyalty and hand over such massive internal contracts to outside groups.

Marcus smiled a humourless smile as he saw the men coming around to his idea. "Gentlemen, using our mining explosives, we shall bring down this symbol of our government's submission, and shall eradicate this problem at an early stage. We march on the port at nightfall"

As for The Nation of Buddha C. Despite the claims that your name suggests along with your claims of a Buddhist nation, I, The Most Gracious People’s Representative of the USSU hereby depose your Imperialistic measures towards the nation of Rodensia in this difficult and trying time for them.

Here in the USSU we follow the Religion of Uwukaka, a Buddhist faith of the Uwukakan tongues. Our belief is in peace and harmony. However, if we view a threat to other nations (especially those in turmoil) as deeply offensive to the world and are prepared to stand up to any such nation doing so. Let it be known that we shall happily smite any nation, even a claiming Buddhist nation, where required if it is for the good of the world. "Your Grace." A Monk entered the diplomatic office of the Bishop and bowed low to Archean then genuflected to the cross hanging on the West Wall. "Svenbe has done quite well the charges have gone off already it seems."

"Yes I saw the cloud from here, quite impressive that man should give him something." Archean stood and walked to a large bay window over looking "Embassy Row" the halls of the fine and mighty. "Write back to the Holy Church , get him the Order of St. Peter, or something." Archean turned hate in his eyes, "Also include my personal feelings on the 'Dance of Friendship' see if they can't have someone shot."

"Your Grace I shall do so as soon as possible. However speaking of the Holy Church the funds have arrived from the Cathedral. It seems the Cardinal has taken a vested interest In Rodensia, 1.2 billion Reichmarks are at our disposal and wired to an account we are setting up."

"Vested interest? At just over a billion? They spend more on new torture implements every year I'm afraid we won't be getting much here despite what the letter might say. No, but we shall overcome as always." The office of the Ambassador was only lightly furnished, the grand fixings of any senior clergymen had not arrived yet, and the room looked bare and spartan.

"Arrange to buy the land, and have the Cathedral set up quickly, take 600 Million for the one here and 400 Million for the second. Hand out as much as you can, build it quickly I have a feeling that we will need a symbol of our power and dedication to the people as soon as possible. Here" He picked up a piece of paper and handed it over to the Monk, "have copies of these made and distributed. Finally take the remaining funds and invest as much of it as possible into the industry and Agriculture of Rodensia, I have no doubt that the Church will skimp on our further efforts here."

The Monk bowed, his lips moving with the effort of recalling the torrent of orders. Again the Bishop was left alone, not much to do now accept wait.

{{OOC: We didn't attack. But we believe in self defense.}}

Monk Chao, now a Nesasi, the Warrior Monk branch of his Buddhist sect, had made it took a small rural area, just North of the main city. Their construction was limited, they had to chop down trees, but noticed that this time they needed something more... durable. Eldest Priest Mai ordered Nesasi Chao, promoted for surviving the 'cloud attack', and for working over night every night, along with several of his colleagues to find several Mason, and more importantly, to find who attacked their port.

Chao, in conjunction with his fellow monks wore plain clothes, nothing to drab, nothing to exquisite, they just looked ordinary. The twelve men all held a compact FN Forty-nine in their pockets, all were trained to shoot with them, none did before. As they searched around for Mason workers they several construction workers and building developers who took an interest in a Buddhist temple, some for the challenge, some for the money, and some for the odd new religion. "Would you happen to know where we could find a few good masons?" Nesasi Chao questioned one of the construction workers.

The man turned his bulky shoulders and face the man, about four inches taller he looked down at the monk. "Over by the Eastern part of the city." The man was given a bow by the monks and the group of twenty-one men now headed towards the Eastern part of the city. On the way a man then looked at him, "You know there's a few other people who are holding mass, is that you guys?"

Nesasi Chao, the clear leader of the monk pack replied, "Well, from what I know of other religions, mass is a Catholic activity, though other sects of a closely related religion called Christianity also practice this, I believe." The monk scratches his five o' clock shadow. His face grew rough as he spotted someone who looked like he was making pottery. One of the men yelled that's him, and they all ran to him. After several hours of negotiating the men, now thirty-six in number, headed back to the monastery site, not making it there till' morning.

Dear Chancellor of Buddhism, we request funds to pay our workers who we see as likely prospects to join our cause. We have suffered a minor issue with a substance one of the guards verified as white phosphorus and construction at Port WaterWood may take more time to finish. We request that you send additional security guards into the country.

While we are disgruntled by the terrorist attack we can not send in more security, it could be seen as a ramping up of enemy forces to invade there country. "I never would have though Prefab cathedrals would have been possible." Archean trotted through his construction sight, they had only finished the reliquary so far, but the roof had been pre built and simply lowered on, even now workers were finished the joists, and caulking the thing. All around the Bishop and his strolling entourage, hundreds of artisans worked at cross purposes, some chiseling away at stones and others trying laying stones for the nunnery.

"It is quite beautiful, although nothing on St. Micheal's your Grace." A Divine Legion Guard strolled beside him occasionally dodging a brick bearing laborer. "They work fast."

"For six figure salaries they damn well better." Archean paused, even his breath was taken away. It was the center piece, the crown that would be placed on the Cathedral, a five meter tall silver statue of St. Micheal Brandishing his sword and in his other arm the thorn crown. It had been one of the first things delivered and it was shut away in what would become Benefaction Chamber as soon as someone put some walls on. Four armed men stood around it, occasionally throwing a longing look at a lifetime's pay covered in ornate scroll work. Raised words made of bronze sparkled the Motto Absolutum Dominium.

"It makes me proud to see another nation slip beneath us." Archean said proudly as he starred at the unmovable vexed face of St. Micheal. "Now however on to business. It seems that our gift to the Buddhists, did not take they have not fled the country, and apparently the charges did not go off before the temple was completed, thereby saving most of them. As such I would like you, Corporal Mettzin and you Private Spader to search the town for any of their priests." The two men grinned happily, they had an alluring sense of when violence was at hand, "if you find one knock him out and bring him back for questioning. The Cardinal included some tools with my baggage, that will prove most informative. Take your pistols but leave the rifles, we can't have armed men on the street yet." The two men saluted and trotted off into the street barely missing two men carrying a section of wrought Iron fence.

It would be some time before they came home.
