Icis, Throne World of Emperor Vindex

The lambda shuttle approached the frozen planet; the planet was Icis the Imperial throne world and a most unusual one of that. There were no organized places of living with the exception of the military complex planet size and the lumbering shipyards above in orbit if you could even count those. The military complex however, was small compared to the enormous structure that dominated the western horizon. It was the Imperial Palace, a palace built upon the unique ice of Icis which was stronger than most metals. That was the destination. As the shuttle descended into the atmosphere the first signs of the palace were visible; the icy pinnacles piecing the clouds of the planet and the passenger onboard the shuttle suddenly became alert, “Doubt… “. The words were not spoken allowed but, rather through the power Emperor Vindex possessed; the force.

He sensed the feelings of the person he had summoned, the person was nervous and unsure; Vindex tasted it on his tongue with the planet Icis amplifying his already sizable powers. The unexplained side effect of the planet was the reasoning behind Icis being the throne world of the Dracun Imperium. Vindex had discovered it through a vision and exhausted entire naval divisions to find it and when he did he was unable to comprehend how incredible the presence of the dark side. The planet had been the abandoned home of an unnamed powerful Dark Lord in the past who had used his incredible powers to build the palace Vindex now inhabited when he was conducting business on the capital of the Imperium; Dracun Prime.

With a thump, the shuttle landed and the landing ramp extended. Within a millisecond the icy wind snapped at Vindex’s pale skin but, he did not flinch. Instead he welcomed it like a brother who had just returned home or maybe it was the wind welcoming him? Such a belief was not foolish on a planet which at times seemed to be sentient. His robes flapped in the incredibly strong winds and he had yet to even step down onto the merciless planet. His long thing fingers grasped his hood and raised it to cover his face as he walked down the ramp. Several of the elite Imperium Guards stood facing each other, creating a pathway for the Emperor of The Dracun Imperium

The massive Ice Doors of the Palace slowly parted with a burst of force energy on Vindex’s part allowing him to enter his fortress. The wind disappeared and was replaced instead with an frigid chill that was not of the environment but, of the Dark Side., “Home…”. His black boots echoed across the icy walls as they clapped against the frozen floor. He saw in the walls a million reflections, a subtle yet natural trick that could be one of the most effective defensive measures in the history of the galaxy. Making a turn he once more opened large doors using the dark side and he finally arrived at the seat of his power, the throne and for the first time in days Vindex spoke, “Rise Admiral.”

The Admiral did as he was told with his back shivering; Vindex took pleasure in the fear that came with it. The Emperor remembered once upon a time the Admiral had commented that Icis was the planetary version of Vindex, whether that was compliment or an insult had never been investigated. Admiral Regas turned to his Emperor, his face blue for no doubt he was as many were, unaccustomed to the unnatural temperatures of the planet, his voice showed but, respect however in a typical military fashion he replied, “M’lord.”

Vindex moved across the icy floor as if he was gliding, “Is everything prepared Admiral?”

“It is…”

Vindex stopped dead; his back was now facing the Admiral. This was the cause of doubt, this was what the Sith had felt on his shuttle, “Admiral elaborate on your sentiments.”

Fear radiated off of Regas to a degree Vindex considered crushing his throat and replacing him with a new Admiral but, once more Regas responded disciplined, “M’lord I don’t think we should invite enemies upon our lands. Surely we should strike at them? The element of surprise would be our greatest asset it could assure us victory.”

“Such thoughts are those of a mortal, you know nothing Admiral, I know everything. You will remember that. We have stolen their technology, we have built their ships, we have pillaged worlds to prepare for this one moment I will not allow it to be in vain because a mortal believed in tactics rather than destiny. Our destiny is to rule the galaxy not die in the fires of our own engineering. You are to leave Admiral, assume control of your ship once more and make sure everything is final and next time wear something more fitting if you cannot handle the cold. Your endurance against mother nature is despicable.”

“Yes, Sir.” The admiral turned on his heels and as the door opened, he was gone, leaving Vindex alone. He summoned the force around him, allowing the dark side to pulse through his very veins and then at once the dark slide exploded, not unlike a super nova and it would be felt throughout the galaxy by force sensitive; a disturbance… a dark disturbance. It would be the first of many of these disturbances and it would unnerve the force sensitive until they began hunting for the cause and when they found the route of these disturbances… it would be the least of their concerns. For now though the Emperor lay slumped in his chair, unconscious; the blast of force energy had taken a lot of out of him and he would not wake maybe for days…

OOC: So this will be a FT Dark Side nation. I believe I have read their are others and are of course not only free to post but, encouraged. Obviously other FT nations are invited but, for now I don't know how you would know about the Imperium with the exception of a nation in uncharted space pillaging and conquering other worlds.

Wild Space, Designated Phaedras Sector

It had been ten long years. Ten years without having seen their wives, children, brothers, sisters, fathers or mother. Ten years of fighting, traveling from planet, subjecting each to the iron shod boot of the stormtrooper and the authority of the Emperor Kushrenada and his warlord, their leader, Grand Admiral Thrawn. Ten years since the supposed "banishment" had launched them upon a new plateau of glory and conquest unlike any campaign waged in Thrashian history. Ten years...

Gliding through the depth-less dark of space a group of daggers pierced the tranquility and solace of the silence in that place. Lights echoed out like phantoms from their bows, broken only as small Tie Interceptors blazed by in route to their scouting positions.

Standing upon the bridge and watching the myriad tapestry of the stars before him the commander contemplated their latest accomplishments. He along with his task force had run blindly into a minor confederation of worlds, commanded by a dictator who deemed himself to be a 'Supreme Marquis' and laughed when the Imperial commander ordered him to submit to the will of Grand Admiral Thrawn, Warlord of the Empire, and his ruler Emperor Treize Kushrenada. The xeno had spit in their faces and brought his war fleets to push us out of existence, the fools. Hundreds of craft had been destroyed with minimal losses to the Imperial Fleet. Then the Legions had landed and the planets pacified by force. The Supreme Marquis had committed suicide upon learning that his palace was being assaulted.

The commander's thoughts were disturbed and he was brought out of his revelry by the snapping of boots on metal. His adjutant appeared at his shoulder and snapped his heels together.

"Vice Admiral Sulla, we're coming up on a new planetary system. It's a sector spanning several different worlds," the captain reported.

"Have we detected life?" asked Vice Admiral Sulla, his thin yet muscular frame turning to face his captain.

"Yes sir," replied Captain Lepidus. "Com Scan has also detected a high level of technological advancement. Ship heat signatures that match, comparatively, with some of our own."

Lepidus' voice seemed to falter at the end of his words and Sulla's watery blue eyes narrowed as he stared at the younger man. "What else, Captain?"

"Well sir...I wouldn't even mention it if-"

"If it is important in any fashion, I must know captain, regardless of your personal feelings," Sulla said tartly.

"Well sir, Imperial Knight Marcellus reports a disturbance in the Force. He says he senses a "dark" presence in this upcoming sector."

"You mean like Emperor Palpatine or Lord Vader?" asked Sulla, his interest peaked.

"That's what Marcellus said," replied Lepidus. "He said it reminded him of the Emperor Palpatine."

Sulla thought about this. It had been many years since he had visited Coruscant, back when he had first joined the Fleet and been part of the officer training program based on Anaxes. He could always remember the icy feeling he would get when he happened to pass by the Imperial Palace in his shuttle. He'd discussed it once with Imperial Knight Marcellus and the best the force user could make of it was that Sulla was simply more attune to the ways of the force, less than an Imperial Knight or Jedi, but more so than a normal person.

Sulla nodded. "Regardless, we will continue on. Send the usual broad-band message of greeting on all frequencis and use all forms of communication."

"Aye, Admiral." Lepidus snapped his heels and turned smartly away, leaving Sulla to stare back into space and wonder at the presence that was supposedly before them.

Imperium Space, Allegia System

The Allegia system was the first system conquered by the Clone Army of The Imperium, it's plentiful resources had allowed a further expansion of the Dracun fleet allowing the first of several Super Star Destroyers to grace the fleet only to be overshadowed by the First Ravager Class Super Star Destroyer (Basically a Larger Eclipse). Moons littered the five planets of the Allegia System and these moons had been converted to clone factories, allowing a massive production system that kept the war machine with a surplus of forces ready to be deployed at any weak spot.

As Admiral Regas' Super Star Destroyer Abomination floated above Allegia Prime the first message came through. The message was played over the bridge speakers and controlling the nerves that raged inside of him while battling the uncertainty he quickly issued orders, "Locate the position of that transmission. I want a list of available ships on my display screen with the next minute." He gazed out into view port and into space, the lumbering hull of Adomination dominating the horizon for several miles.

"Sir, we've traced the transmission. It's about an hour away; we can redeploy several dozen star destroyers, lancers and carracks to our task force within the next ten minutes. There are also ten carriers on stand-by. Will you like those to accompany our forces?" One of the nameless naval officers that worked upon the bridge announced above the bridge chatter.

"Yes, and I believe such a force will be adequate. Keep several more battle groups on the ready in case we need reinforcements," Regas' eyes saw nothing but, an imaginary battle against a nameless foe. This was no act of the force but, the mind of an extraordinary commander and that alone was the reason Regas still commanded the Dracun fleet. Already more reports were appearing on his display screen, apparently many of the ships were of similar designs to the ones that had been stolen from by Dracun agents. The readouts did not specify anything other than that.

The Subjugator-Class Star Destroyers that were utilized by the Dracun fleet contained towers but, a secondary shield generator had been added on to all ships and it sat in between a web of anti-star fighter lasers this along with the bridge being moved might give them an advantage then. The additions had added more size and cost to the now standard capital ship but, Vindex and even Regas believed it was worth the extra cost.

"Sir, we are ready to jump," Another office announced, he had had the same voice as the other officer for they were both clones. Regas nodded, "Begin the jump to light speed." A minute later they were in hyperspace traveling towards the location of the transmission.

Phaedras Sector

The armada filled the view before the fleet of Thrasia in total there were 54 Subjugator Star Destroyers, 23 Lancer Frigates, 23 Carrack Cruisers, 5 Carriers and the Abomination. Regas stared at the fleet before him as no doubt the enemy commander was doing to Regas' own fleet, "Relay the message The Emperor gave to us to to broadcast."

Seconds later the following message was broadcasted on all frequencies, The Emperor's icy tone filled the air waves

"Mortals, the end of your freedom is near. Take this message back to your weak-minded leaders, let them know their precious power is about to be taken away from them. Tell them not to fight back for their destruction is unavoidable, I have seen it with my own eyes and know that it shall come to pass."

The message began to repeat itself and as it did so the hangars opened and Tie Defenders roared out. Then Regas gave the order and the space in between the two fleets erupted with light as the Dracun fleet opened fire with ion cannons and their turbolasers. The Defenders were split into waves that would go in turns against the enemy fleet along with Tie Bombers which were divided up the same way. This way the enemy would not have a second of rest.

[OOC: Sorry lost creative thought half-way through :P. Basically techs are the same except my version of ISD. It's basically the same thing with the laser defense around the secondary shield generator

"Are we there yet?"
Marcus rolled his eyes. "Jesse, if you say that one more time, I'm going to throw you out the airlock!"
The young woman smiled. "Sorry chief," she said. "Just trying to keep ya awake."
"Whatever," muttered Marcus, as he sat back in his comand chair. It had been a long two weeks. Antonio Romano of the Cartel had sent him to find a possible new source of supplies. The hard part: where to find parts for a Super Star Destroyer? The Cartel opperated from the SSD Bari, which they had found abandoned. Not knowing where it came from, they had moved in and rebuilt the ship to serve as a base of opperations. That was the problem.

After rebuilding the SSD, the Cartel lacked the resources to keep it fully opperational. Ion engines, shields, the hyperdrive, there was no end to the list of systems that had failed due to disrepair. Their A.I., Vesta (http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/6/62/Cortana.jpg), tried her best, the the ship just was falling apart.

That was where Marcus came in. His ship, the Shadow Gambler, (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h52/nx9100/akyazi2.jpg)was one of four Raiders in the group. They were hoping to find a similar, abandoned SSD to salvage. Now after two weeks, they were closing on yet another unknown system.

"Entering the system now," reported the helmsman.
"What system is this again?" Marcus asked.
"According to the charts that trader gave us, it's the Phaedras Sector," replied the helmsman.
"Alright, take us out of warp." The four ships dropped to impulse... right into the middle of a fireworks show. "What The!?" cried Marcus as his ship just missed a laser shot.
"Multiple contacts!" shouted Jesse. "There's a whole FLEET out there!"
"Get us out of here!" ordered Marcus. The four ships tried to recover and make a run deeper into the system...

Onboard Abomination

"Admiral, another ship has just exited hyperspace."

Regas' head snapped toward the officer who had announced the new contact, "The fools must have called in reinforcements already. We'll use the members of that ship as hostages activate tractor beams. If they escape from the beams... kill them."

"As you wish Admiral."

Dozens of locks fell upon the decent sized ship as the tractors beams went to full power trying to bring the ship in. Three full squadrons of Tie Defenders were diverted and on an intercepting course with the ships, missiles prepared to unleash hell upon the unfamiliarly designed ship.

(OOC: my raiders are only 5 decks thick, not very big, should just fit in a SD's hanger, kinda...)

The massive jolt threw Marcus to the floor. "What was that!?" he shouted.
"Tractor beam!" Goawd, an Andorian, replied. "They're dragging us in!"
"Engines! Full power!" ordered Marcus.
"Not enough!" yelled the helmsman. "We can't break that lock!"
"I'm reading dozens of fighters!" reported Jesse. "We're surrounded!"
"Damn! Shut down the engines before they overload!" Marcus pulled himself back into his chair. This was NOT part of the plan. "Signal the other ships to stand down! Maybe we can talk our way out of this." Jesse was already on the comm, talking to the other 3 captains, when the intercomm came alive.
"What are you doing up there!?" It was the voice of the ship's engineer, from the aft engine pod.
"Sorry Jack," said Marcus. "We got cought in a tractor beam. Seams this sector belongs to someone already..."

Expedtion Group 21-A had been sent by the UCG government to explore the unknown territories and report any findings of new nations to the Premier. Its commander, Captain Andrei Kalinin, had been given command of this group of starships. One Ryurik-Class Star Destroyer 2 Victory III Star Destroyers, and 3 Carrrack- Class Cruisers that comprise the group (http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a287/GeneralZhukov3333/?action=view&current=untitled.jpg) comes out of hyperspace.

"Begin sensor sweep of the area. Disperse the Carracks." Kalinin ordered.

"Sir we are getting some readings from point-zero-five lightyear away. The energy readings indicated tractor beams and laser fire."

"Hmm. Send a Carrack out to see what is going on Commander."

"Yes sir"

Ingram pulled out his commlink as he walked away from Kalinin. "Commander Renkonov, move your ship to these coordinates," Ingram pressed the send button on his datapad, "as soon as you get visual of anything send a holo display back to us at once."

"Yes sir. Maneuvering into microjump postion."

Ingram watched through the viewport as the Foresight jumped.

As the ship was being pulled into the hangar of the Super Star Destroyer, dozens of white armor-clad storm troopers stood, guns raised at the landing ramp of the ship. They were naval troopers and as such the generic armor had been kept to blend in with the white walls and floor of the ships in The Dracun Armada. Two of the turrets in the hangar swiveled to the ship as a message was broadcasted over a PA system, "You are spies for the enemy, you will lower your landing ramp and be taken into custody for questioning. If you resist you will die." It was a generic message typical of the standard military personnel; filled with nothing but, facts.

The highest ranking storm trooper's com buzzed and he quickly answered it, "Sir?"

"..."

"Not the detention cells?"

"...."

"Understood." He looked back up at the ship, respect filled his cloned heart for the Admiral, brilliant.

"That's alot of troopers..." Jesse stood at the viewport and was watching the hanger activity. "What's the plan, boss?"
"I don't know," replied Marcus. "This shouldn't be a major problem. All we have to do is go out there and explain what happened: we dropped in by accident."
"I dunno," said Jesse. "They look serious."
"Hey," said Marcus while placing his hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry about it. Chances are we'll be gone in a few hours anyway. Tell you what. Stay onboard. I'll go talk to them." He walked towards the cargo ramp. The Andorian, Goawd, followed. Marcus hit a control, and the ramp desended to the deck below. He and Goawd walked down, and shielded their eyes from the bright lights of the hanger. "Hey!" shouted Marcus. "What gives? We're not doing anything illegal, just prospecting." He looked to the nearest trooper. "You in charge here, son?"

------------------------------

Meanwhile, one of the other Raiders, the Evernham Charger, was still holding its position with the other two, while surrounded by TIE's. On the bridge, an old human sat in the command chair. He watched as the Shadow Gambler was pulled inside the SSD. "Well, we found one," he said.
"Very funny," replied the man at the sensor station. He turned around, and the light reveiled his pointed ears. "Now, why don't you call and ask them for their ship?" His voice dripped with sarcasm.
"Oh, shut up."
Suddenly, something banged against the bulkhead. "Bah!" The Klingon maning the weapons station stood to confront the old man. "We should attack their tractor emiter, free the Gambler, and blast our way out of here!"
"Slow down He'keg," the old man replied. "Sit back down before you hurt yourself. You wouldn't want to disapoint Kr'loth, now."
"That old targ?" He'keg laughed. "Fine. But I suggest we do something besides just sit here."
"Agreed." The old man turned to the Romulan. "Open a channel, please."

This is Captain Kahne, of the Evernham Charger. I wish to know why you have captured my companion vessel. We are... explorers of a sort, and mean you no trouble. If you can release my friend, we'll be on our way.

Abomination Hangar

"You are under arrest for trespassing in the territory of the Dracun Imperium, that warrants the death penalty if I'm not mistaken, sir," He made a motion and the troopers stepped back while two came behind him, stun cuffs in hand, "Lucky for you the Admiral has decided to spare your life."

Suddenly behind them the hangar turrets glowed and then with a thunderous roar, let loose upon the captured ship, pounding it with red beams of destruction.

Abomination Bridge

As the battle raged all around them Vindex's crewmen received another transmission and Vindex's response was simple and lethal. The Tie Defenders surrounding the raiders opened fire, lasers and missiles spitting forth on a direct course with the various raiders of the exploration fleet. The Admiral had one person and that was all he needed.

(ooc: sorry for the delayed response. got stuck at the Michigan speedway for a few days due to rain delays. anyway, feel free to do whatever to my three ships, I only want the Charger to get away.)

"Report!"
"Hull damage in the forward section! Crews repairing now!"
"Warp speed! Get us out of here!" The Evernham Charger shuddered under the constant bombardment, as she struggled out of the battle zone. The other two ships weren't so lucky. One lost a warp nacelle and hadd a whole where the bridge used to be, while the other suffered a direct blast to the engine pod and was destroyed in a core breach. As for the Shadow Gambler, only a bright flash followed by debris came out of the masive ship's hanger.
"Why arn't we at warp?"
"Engines coming online now! Plotting course..."
"Shilds collapsing!"
"Ready for warp!"
"ENGAGE!" screamed Captain Kahne. The Charger finally managed to jump, while nearly colliding with a TIE fighter, whose pilot must have had a nice view of the underside of the ship. Kahne leaned back in his seat. "ANy sign of pursuit?" he asked.
"Negitive," replied the Romulan. "Not yet, anyway."
"Coward! We should have fought to the death!" yelled He'keg. "Our friends are slaughtered, and we run like targs!"
"Shut up!" ordered Kahne. "We're no match for them. Besides, we have to return for repairs." He looked down at his feet. "Romano is not going to like this..."
"He'keg folded his arms. "I did get off a round of torpedoes," he boasted. "Vengence is mine!"
"Whatever. Just get a message back to the Bari (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h52/nx9100/SSD.jpg)."
