History

Loneque broke off from the US later on than most of the states mainly because there were too few people to effectively create a new country. However, a mass immigration from Canada, mainly composed of the descendants of the original French settlers, allowed them to break away. On November 26th, 1931, a day before Thanksgiving, Loneque was born from the state of Montana.

Shortly afterwords, in January of 1932, Idaho was annexed. The next month, through negotiations with Canada Loneque got control of Alaska. Oil refineries were installed and the Airships that were used to transport the precious 'Black Gold' fly safely over Canada, in exchange for cheap prices.

The country's first Air Militia, the Guardians of the Black Rose, were fairly successful but lost consistantly against other nations due to inferior aircraft, and the country was forced to call upon its ties with Canada in order to protect itself. Using money it got from its powerful mining industry, Loneque put out a call to attract engineers and companies to create new aircraft for the nation.

Since then, the up and coming Blackwolf Enterprises company has taken hold in the nation. It has provided the aircraft and airships used by the nation's Air Force, and is becoming the main economic power in the small nation. Also, mines have been dug to drill out the precious minerals and gems the country holds, and it is using the income provided to get other needed supplies by trading with other nations. Loneque has also maintained relations with the European powers of England and France. Although it is too distant to achieve much trade, its oil flows through Canada and back to Europe, and money and weapons flow back. Additionally, there is a trade deal with Angermanland for grain and food products.

Military:

Total Strength: 198,745 (Enlisted and Volunteer)

Loneque Defensive Air Force (LDAF): The Branch that deals with the countries main air defense. It commands lighter and heavier-than-air craft but does not engage in attacking operations. That is the area of the Air Militia.

Flying Fencers: Loneque's Air Militia. They engage in all offensive air operations. Their aircraft are stylized with pictures of swords, and as a hobby they all train in fencing and swordplay.

Loneque Provinical Army: The Branch that deals with all ground combat, including infantry, vehicles, and land-based defenses.

Alaskan Defense Navy: Loneque only has coastline around Alaska, which is protected by the ADN, although they are mainly outdated and have no offensive strength from which to launch operations against foreign powers.

Alaskan Ice Patrol: A defensive force to repel landings and protect the valuable oil fields. They are trained in arctic combat and are actually very elite.

Additional Information:

The Loneque army is well-trained and well-equipped, but not as well as other land-locked nations because it still must maintain a defensive navy near Alaska to protect against the Russians and other threats. Said navy is not in the best of shape either, but it is still highly capable though it cannot commit to any attack or support operations against foreign coasts.

Weaponry:

Blackwolf Enterprises P1
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1911): The standard side-arm for all branches of the Loneque Armed Forces.

Blackwolf Enterprises R2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1_Garand_rifle): The main rifle for the Loneque Army and by security personel in all other branches.

Blackwolf Enterprises SR3 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1903_Springfield_rifle): The mainstay Loneque sniper rifle in the army. Other branches have only a few of these.

Blackwolf Enterprises AR4 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M2_Carbine): A new model being phased in that is capable of selective fire. It is in use already with the Alaskan Ice Patrol and with certain units of the Loneque Army.

Blackwolf Enterprises SMG5 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thompson_submachine_gun): Another newer model, it is already in wide usage.

Blackwolf Enterprises MMG6 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1919_Browning_machine_gun): A medium machine gun design in wide usage within the army.

Blackwolf Enterprises HMG7 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M2_Browning_machine_gun): This heavy machine gun design is a tried and tested favorite.

Blackwolf Enterprises G1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mk_2_grenade): This is was long the sole grenade design for the Loneque Armed Forces, much to the government's displeasure.

Blackwolf Enterprises CG2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._69_grenade): This concussion grenade design is based on models imported from England.
