Well, here we have it, the TBCS Breakroom. A place where members of the TBCS can talk outside of missions, mess with their gear, or whatever else they want. Enjoy.

OOC: Should we post in here after we complete Mission One?

John walked into the Breakroom, mopping his head and taking off his suit, and putting his clean katana in sheath down on the floor, and he sat down on the couch and unpacked his electric guitar and said "Anybody brought some food, killing vamps makes me hungry.."

Morallis and Kirk stepped in, removing their helmets. At John's request Morallis pulled a bag of jerkey out of his vest and tossed it to him. He then proceeded to talk to Victor via small dry erase board. After a while the flourescant lights began to bother him slightly and he put on a pair of sunglasses.

John ate some of the jerky and said "Any song requests from anybody?" He felt so relieved that he survived the first mission, the next might be harder, but he had survived his first mission in the TBCS.

Victor looked up, "You know any Credence? Been a long time since I heard any of their stuff."

He went back to talking with Morallis. They appeared to be doing an After Action Report, something they always on the force. Old habits died hard, they had yet to realize paperwork would be handled for them.

John grinned and said "Sure I can.." He turned some distortion up, and started playing "Bad Moon Rising" and singing to it.

Morallis rolled his eyes and wrote in big red letters on his dry erase board 'I HATE PAPERWORK...'

Kirk laughed, "Yeah me too. But it's necessary. Besides, we're almost done," he looked over at John, "Anything you wanna add to our report?"

John said "Well, that the TBCS did very well on it's first mission, eliminated the OPFOR, an 0 casualties, astounding success." He looked relieved to say this and said "I was a part of the QCS, along with Mick, and most of the people here, I am used to scary surprises.."

Morallis and Kirk looked at each other, remembering. Kirk cleared his throat, "So when you and the Commander were with the QCS, what all did you face. I heard about some mutations in the undead, but none were present in the Capital. I know you were prepared and all and he sent us a lot of data, but that first day..."

He flashed back. A city in ruins, citizens running and screaming, almost at his barricade. The heavy machine guns were keeping them at bay, yet after all the hits some got through. The civilians never stood a chance. He was behind the barricade trying to put them down but there were too many. As more people tried to reach it a retreat was called. The Leutenant in charge told them to leave the people. Kirk refused, getting as many living into the
Strykers as possible before jumping onto a side railing. The blood...The screams...The incessant moaning of the undead...

He snapped out of it, "Let's just say it was a miracle when you showed up. The dead, zombies or otherwise have a lot to answer for."

John responded and said "We faced some heavily mutated zombies, and outside of the capital, in UHC, we faced robotic soldiers, and lots of zombies, in fact on the first mission of the QCS, this first mission paled, we faced at least 500-650 undead for 24 hours, we had to stay in an undead infested town overnight, and had to hold until dawn, no survivors." He had a grimace remembering that day..

Morallis raised an eyebrow, somewhat impressed.
Kirk sat down in one of the chairs, "Yeah, we've all seen our share. In a way vampires were better, but definitely not easier. We've traded mindless maneating numbers for superhumans with guns the way I see it. Zombies never toyed with you the way vamps do."

John said "Yeah, Vampires are more intelligent then mass hordes of undead, you have to match their cunning with more firepower and outwit them in my opinion."

Alex felt himself awaken, he got up from the bed and touched his shoulder. He felt the small punctures. Part of him was horrified, andother part was elated. He stalked through the halls, the light was bothersome, but he had no sunglasses. He reached the dormitories and proceed on a murderous rampage. He was preparing to sink his fangs into his first victim, an MP who'd made the mistake of resisting.

Then he woke up.

He started upward, but found that he was hooked up to all manner of monitors, and had several IV's running into his arms. He checked his shoulder, bruised, but not punctures. He flet his side, it was heavilly bandaged. He saw that his vitals were strong, and also saw a note stating that his genome hadn't been altered. He breathed a sigh of relief.

A doctor came over, he was suprised that Dagger-5 was coherent, much less awake.

"Alex Marshall? How do you feel?"

"I stabbed myself, with a sword, how do you think I feel?"

"Yes, she said to expect that kind of response..."

"Saya was here?"

"Yes, you've been out for nearly 12 hours, we sent her away just an hour or so ago."

Alex smiled, he felt a sense of warmth come over him.

"When can I get out of here?"

"Well, your wound is dressed, we'd like you to come in again for the next few days, and to take these pain-killers..."

"No, I endured the pain of stabbing myself, I can deal with the after effects. You're saying I'm free to go?"

"Well, yes, you heal quickly don't you Mr. Marshall."

"Family trait, what can I say."

He allowed the doctor and some aides to remove the IV's and equipment, they left his clothes, with the hole he'd punched in then, at the foot of his bed.

He closed the blinds and changed into these clothes. The pain from his wound was annoying, but he could deal with it, he'd been shot in the past, and this wasn't that bad by comparison.

He decided to go looking for Saya. He guessed she'd be in the breakroom, so that's where he headed first. As he arrived he was dissappointed that she wasn't there.

"Hey guys, you seen Saya anywhere?"

The Civil Authority officers looked up from their stack of paperwork, now a tidy, bound report. Morallis shook his head no.

"Shouldn't you be asleep?" Kirk asked raising an eyebrow, "I mean, you impaled yourself afterall. But no, we haven't seen her. I assumed she was keeping vigil over your bed. We've been filing for the last few hours and were just about to raid the kitchen. Want in?"

"Like I said, Sleeping, 12 Hours. Of course I'm in, but if I see Saya along the way, you're on your own."

He drew the sword with which he'd stabbed himself. He lmost laughed as he looked at it. The CA guys could see that engraved on the blade was the stylized word, 'Repentance'.

"So, will we need this?"

Morallis chuckled and wrote on his dry erase board 'probably not, but you never know if anything's been moldy long enough to become spiteful'

"Well, now that we've got our squad let's move out."

They proceeded down the hall toward the galley.

"Oh, if you were wondering, the other is named 'Atonement'. Named 'em when I was trying to make up for my previous lifestyle."

Kirk raised an eyebrow and Morallis looked quizically if not a little nervously at the two blades.

"Previous lifestyle? Oh well, I suppose we all have our little secrets," Kirk said with a smile.

Morallis half smiled at that, but had little reaction.

They reached the galley and found it empty, the chefs having left for the day.
"Alright troops, game time," Kirk said as he opened a cabinet and pulled out a half-hidden bag of Doritos.

"Open secret buddy, look at my declassifed personnel file, or for that matter, my credit card records, cell phone records, GPS locations, and what not. Hell, go to a freakin' library and you might find out."

He shrugged.

"I've changed though."

"I'm sorry but I fail to see how your history would be pertinent to our job. We may be above average and beyond the level of most soldiers but we're still just cops. We'd have little reason to know about you when it was out of our department. Even if the CA needed to know at one point or another, it was out of our precinct. We undoubtedly have access, we just never looked. But now, it's chow time."

Kirk had dug out some tortilla chips and a salsa cheese dip. Morallis had gestured that he felt ill and needed to visit the medical bay.

As he walked down the hall he continuously made sure the coast was clear. He stepped into the medical bay and ensured that no one was inside. He then made sure that there were no cameras watching. Morallis then slowly made his way into the refridgerator and opened it. After looking around for a few moments he pulled out three blood packets, tucked them into his vest, and made his way back to his quarters unnoticed.

"I would have taken you two as... ...Donut... types."

He grinned and waited for a response from either of them.

Morallis had gone by the time the statement was made, but Kirk more than made up for his backup leaving, "About as much you guys (SF) are a bunch of brutish mini Rambos running around with M-60s, eating raw meat and bashing skulls indiscriminately."
He took a bite of nachos and waited, satisfied that he got the point across.

OOC: Why don't you guys just get your own forum..? Freewebs for instance.

"Hey! Rambo cooked that deer. Besides, I wouldn't be a very good swordsman, or scout for that matter, if I went around unloading. I wouldn't be a very good husband if I was brutish for that matter. As for skull-bashing... that's not my scene."

He pulled his flask of vodka, suprised that it was still there.

"Thought they'd find this for sure."

At this Kirk burst into laughter, "Yes, I suppose. And if we were 'donut types' I don't think when we come bashing down the door of a speakeasy people would run in fear. It's been established that bullets aren't very effective."

He became totally serious and in his official law enforcement officer voice said, "And sir this is a nonalchoholic building. I'll have to confiscate that."
He wasn't serious, but he'd love to see Dagger 5's reaction. Especially given his history.

OOC: Just easier to start a second thread. Not that much extra clutter anyway.

"No vodka for you, come back in one year!"

He took finished off the small flask and grabbed an apple.

"Oh no, not the vodka nazi...:rolleyes: Well, if you can't beat 'em..."

He pulled a small silver flask from his chest pocket and took a swig.
"At any rate, think I'll check in on Morallis then turn in. Just make sure everything looks undisturbed when you leave," he smiled, "Or we'll be seeing each other again real soon," He flashed the badge he wore on a chain before walking out.

"Well, you just stole a bag of chips, I should turn you in, ya croocked cop."

He waved good-bye and began looking for Saya again.

Another few hours passed, and he decided that he ought to head back to the room, after all, that's probably where she was anyway.

Vanek barged into the room. "I can't believe Dag5 got injured. I just went in to see him." He took off his handy backpack and got a perfect glass jar full of red liquid that anyone can guess at. "So I'm not hungry," he said. So he took a sip, and relaxed. "Before the next mission, I'm going to have to go..... hunting.... again. This is my last jar, and I have four empty ones in my backpack," he said, pulling them out.

He sat down and pulled out from his backpack his BlackBerry and got caught up with stuff at home.

OOC: He's one of the rulers of my country. And, I'm basing vampires on what they are in Stephanie Meyer's Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse.

OOC: Check my other posts, he was bitten, but his armor stopped the bite. (pure luck on that one) The main threat would have been from the stab wound. (notably, removing the sword itself, but he dealt with that)

Saya sat in her and D5's room, worrying of course. She had tried to get some sleep, but that wasn't happening. So, she instead went back to the chocolate. That habit of hers was probably unhealthy, but she had a naturaly good metabolism, she excercised alot, and the failed UH thing probably helped to. She looked around the room, it was probably bigger than the others, because of having two people. That and Mereshkan officers always played favorites, just not openly. She had a mat for sleeping on, and D5 had his choice of a bed or a mat like hers. She giggled, the other non-Mereshkan were probably stuck with the mat. She was sitting on the bed right now, waiting for Alex.

Ordeith walked among the carnage in the facility. So much blood, so much death. Without really being aware of it he laughed. Well, this didn't turn out to bad at all. The only problem was that captured vampire, and he would be dealt with. That, and look at all the blood! He found that he was getting hungry. He grinned and knelt down, he did not discriminate the dead.

Dagger-5 entered the room. He still had the apple, his absent-minded searching had caused him to forget about it entirely, even though his stomach growled in protest.

Upon seeing Saya he smiled.

"I guess I heal pretty quick, they let me out. Gotta go back tomorrow, but basically, I'm back on active duty."

He offered her the apple. Once more his stomach protested. He ignored it, he'd spent days without food on missions, 12 hours was nothing.

Saya stood up and placed her hands on her hips. "What are you doing offering me food mister? You need food and rest. I'm not the one who was impaled." She grabbed him by the shoulders and sat him down on the bed. "Now, you eat that apple you." She said, standing over, fully meaning to watch him eat every bite.

"Okay, okay," his hands went up in surrender, "Figured you might want it."

He began eating. In an attempt to lighten the mood he paused long enough to ask one question.

"What did I miss in the last 12 hours?"

She laughed, "How exactly am I supposed to know? I was by you for most of the time. The rest of it I was in here. I'm sure Aozora will explain it all in due time though." She sat down next to hi and put her head upon his shoulder. "Are you feeling okay"?

"Well, yeah, pretty good. Obviously the stab wound hurts. Still, its not that bad compared to getting shot or something happening to you. They say I'm still completely human, which is good of course."

He took another bite then checked his teeth.

"Yep, definitely not fangs."

From the look he recieved, she didn't appreciate the joke.

"Sorry, but like I said, I'm just as fine as one can being after stabbing themself."

Saya shook her head, "Realy, what was the point of that? Did you really have to hit yourself? Just for a prisoner who might not even know anything?"

"Well, it was right behind me, and the damn thing thought it'd be smart to try and bite me. So since he was right behind me, and a bullet would have killed it at that range, I decided I'd kill 2 birds with one stone."

He knew it was a weak reason, so he gave the rest of it.

"That, and when it bit my armor, I could have sworn it went through. I was worried I was about to become one of them, and since no one had a shot on it, I decided that if I was going to become one, I might as well make it harder for me to threaten anyone. I wanted to punish it, threatening you. So, the only option I saw at the time, was to stab through my side, and bring that thing down for capture."

He took another bite.

"After it was down and I realized that I wasn't bitten, I felt more than a little stupid."

Saya scowled, but actualy she was fighting a smile. That was pretty sweet. "Well, you should feel stupid. Even if you were one of those, suicide isn't an option." She smiled and gave him a kiss, "Thanks though, even if stupid, it is pretty sweet."

"Thanks, I'm glad you understand."

He finished the apple, and stood up to stretch.

"I've been asleep all this time, I think I have a right to be a little uncomfortable, don't you think?"

Sitting down once more he realized that his survival had been a matter of pure luck. He was very glad that ever since the QCS his luck had been good.

Saya laughed again, "Yes, you do have a right to be uncomfortable." She grinned at him, "Well, weren't you saying you needed some rest"?

John walked in and said to Dag5 "How are you doing, I hope you don't try to impale yourself again.."

"Well, I don't want to, but I guess I ought to sleep, unconsciousness doesn't count."

He cast a scowl in the direction of the medical wing.

"Oh well, c'est la vi."

He decided he might as well go to bed, since Saya seemed insistent.

Saya looked around, "Oh, hey John. What are you doing"?

"Ha, ha." His voice was laced with sarcasm. Then the sarcasm left his voice.

"What'd we miss while I was busy being dealt with by the good doctors?"

John said to Saya "I came here to check on Dag here, and to see you also, congrats, I am sorry I couldn't make your wedding if you had one, I was on a combat mission that went awry pretty badly, which almost resulted in my death, along with 400 other people.."

"It happens, the important thing is that you come home alive."

Dagger-5 shrugged.

Ed snapped his fingers. "Knew I forgot about the wedding to! Couldn't make it either, was to busy blowing up something. One of the few QCS mission where we got sent int to stop some splinter faction with a smaple of the virus."

"Well, like I said, its okay, atleast to me."

He wasn't quite sure about Saya's take on it.

Ed sat down in the nearest chair. "Well, I must say, this is infinently better then zombies, at least I have something shooting at me again."

OOC: Is the first mission over? I was busy esterday.

Vanek had been checking up on his nation. He heard Dag5 talking and said," Yep, you're lucky you're not a vampire otherwise you'd be wanting this." He pulled out his jar of blood and took another sip."What wedding are you guys talking about?"

John said "That mission went awry, because I was in a SU-27, it was my last mission before I retired, and well, the air force folks in the north thought that I was a Khilistani, an enemy of ours, long story, anyway, they fired SAM's at my flight of 5 SU-27s, I and my back seater ejected, and 2 did also, but the other two died from the SAMs... Friendly Fire.."

OOC: Yeah, this is the post op stuff. That's when D5 stabbed himself.

IC:

"Could you please not do that near me. No offense, but its freakin' creepy."

Dagger-5 was still slightly disgusted, but he tried to hide that.

"Saya and Dag 5s wedding." Ed turned to see Crispy standing in the door, the same blank look on his face. "Hey Crispy, haven't seen you around in a while." Ed said. Crispy took the nearest seat to him then turned to bore a hole i hte wall with his gaze.

A Union officer strode into the room and handed Ed an order pack. He flipped it open then rolled his eyes. "You've got to be kidding me." He looked at the officer. "I'm being pulled away to look after some scientist?" The officer noded then turned and left the room. Ed flipped the orders onto a nearby table. "Scheisse, looks like I have to get left out of the next mission, have to gaurd some scientist. Appearenlty hes an expert on these 'vampires' and the Union thinks he might be a target because he knows something they don't. Thing is, why would he chose to hide in the embassy right in the middle of it?"

"Maybe I should come with you, maybe see if this guy knows his stuff." Vanek had a hollow laugh. "Come back as quick as you can, though." To everyone else, "When is the 2nd mission going to start, I'm going to have to go out and.... er.... erm..... hunt."

Ed shurgged. "Quite possibly, wouldn't be supirsed if the vampires tried to get in. Most of the embassy gaurds are nggets any way."

"No, idea. Whenever they decide on an objective I guess."

Dagger-5 was wondering the same thing.

"Hmmm, but we'd probably need you more." said Vanek to Edd.

"Who's they?" said Vanek.

OOC: Sorry I was off for a little bit, my internet wigged out.

IC: Aozora walked into the room just then, "Ah, there you guys are, couldn't find you." He looked to D5, "Hey, hows the wound"?

"What do you mean they?"

"Intel, the CO, those people. The all-powerful command staff that control the lives of so many special forces the world over."

He noted confused looks all around.

"The OGA, the 'Other Government Agency'. That's who 'they' are. I know that sounds paranoid, but its just a statement."

Vanek took another swig of blood. "The OGA, what the heck is that. Oh well, maybe we can get a section of it in the VDB. Hi Aozora, you couldn't have looked in many other spots. Excuse me, I've got to go hunt, if Dag5 wants to come along he can just in case I'm not leaking info to my cousins, but it's pretty grisly. If anyone hears of any mysterious murders, you know who not to tell." He exited the room, hoping this would be a quick excursion.

"Oh, as good as it could be."

He shrugged, that was his best answer to that question.

"Might as well go with him." Ed said. "Non-humans have to stick together..." He muttered under his breath.

Aozora sighed, "Okay you two, make it quick. Second mission is soon." He then turned to Dagger, "Well, sorry to tell you this, but you stabbed yourself in vain. The Vampire you went through so much to capture? He's dead."

Vanek jogged along. It was kind of nippy, when you're sweating and the cold just makes you feel better. Not that he was sweaty. He jumped into his Bugatti Veyron and waited for anyone else, if anyone else was coming.

Ed hopped into the passenger seat. "Lets get going." He said.

"Fu... calm... calm..."

He took several deep breaths.

"How'd it die. At the price of sounding blood-thirsty... ha... I hate puns."

He looked angry, and annoyed.

John read a book titled "A History of the Calizorinstanian Air Force" and smiled as he saw a picture of himself, in the cockpit of a F-4E captioned "Calizorinstan's Youngest Ace." He drank some Dr.Pepper, and was relaxed enough that he felt if a mission came, he could handle it..

Saya snuggled up closer to him, hoping to calm him down. "Well," said Aozora, "Another Vampire did him in. We've got a security tape, I'm going to be showing it at the Mission two breifing. Unforunately, all we got out of him was something about it all starting in Veitnam. We're not even sure what started there."

"OK," said Vanek. "You need good reflexes to drive this car. Vampires do." he said while inserting the high-speed key that let him go 253.6 mph. "And it outdrives the cops. So, you said you weren't human. What are you?"

" The supposedly next step in the human evolutionary chain." He looked out the window. "Non humans need to stick together." he said.

"Yah," said Vanek. "Oh, here we are." He parked his Veyron right next to a dirt road. "There oughta be some campers here-those are the best to get. Climb onto my back, I can flit, which means I can run 25mph, and I can easily carry humans, and those "scientists" (he shivered) probably made you lightweight."

OOC: I have to get off the computer, just jump onto Vanek's back and we'll just do this tomorrow, or completely skip it.

" I can keep up." Ed said. "shall we?"

"Atleast we got something out of this. We have a location."

He'd calmed back down by now. His temper was known to flare under extreme stress, but then cool very fast, before he could do anything he'd regret.

He gave Saya a nod and a smile to prove he was calm again. He often regretted having that flaw, though it never flared toward her. That was part of the reason he'd fallen for her.

"I assume you aren't holding me back from this trip. Mostly because, no offense sir, but if you try, I'll go anyway."

Aozora grunted, "Right. I know how you special forces guys are. That, and here in Mereshka, we'd probably look down upon you if you did stay, seeing as how Sayas going. Well, you had best head torwards the breifing room, its time to start. I'll round up the others."

John headed towards the briefing room, E-19 in hand, suit on.

Crispy noded curtly then headed towards the briefing room. He activated his radio and selected Eds private channel. "Funs over, head to your post." Then deactivated it before he could get a response.

John sat down in a chair, and hoped that he'd survive this next mission, the first was hairy, but not as much as the first mission in the QCS.

Saya hopped up from the bed, "Okay, come on Alex, lets get going." She picked up her gear, including a few bars of chocolate, and ran out the door.

He looked at Saya she'd been telling him to get some rest, it looked like he'd won that little debate.

He was still in his camo, and quickly changed out the top, to a new, unpunctured one. He donned his armor, and replaced the damaged shoulder. After handing Saya her gear he finished by getting his weapons rigged up. He opened one last crate, which was kept under his bed, and pulled out a shotgun and bandoleer of ammo. He slung it over his shoulder and headed for the briefing room with Saya.

John checked himself, he was all armed and gungho, and ready to go for the mission.

Once more he took a seat and waited for the briefing to begin. He tried to be serious, but then, he was also paying quite a bit of attention to Saya, for obvious reasons.

I have started mission two.

"Oh yeah? Well I was getting shot at the whole time, except they weren't untrained gureillas, these were vamped union soldiers."

John said "I admit, that was a dangerous situation, but I was surrounded by vampires, freaking vampires.."

"Hey, so was I! Things wouldn't go away, almost had to toss someone at them to make them stop shooting for a minute."

John said to Ed "I understand, but you would know why I am glad to be alive, if you had seen the battle yourself."

"Eh, I'll see it. Union armor has recording equipment in it." he pointed at Crispy. "He probably recorded the whole thing."

John smiled and said "Yeah, it was quite the fracas, I was killing vamps left to right with my katana, while firing my Uzi at the same time.."

Ed laughed. "Must've been a hell of a fight, to bad I wasn't there."

OOC; I'm going to head out for dinner.

OOC: Alrighty..

IC:
John said "Yeah, it was kindof fun in a way, I had to keep leaping from building to avoid the mob of vampires then I had to swing my katana and fire my Uzi, you'll see me on Crispy's vid, the crazy man firing and swinging his katana.."

Kirk and Morallis stumbled into the breakroom.

"Well, we may be insane, we may be out of ammo, and we may be exhausted, but between us and Dagger 5 we got you guys a present."

Morallis threw down a duffel bag containing the papers they'd picked up.

"Enjoy."

Dagger-5 walked in, he put down the bag of documents he'd procured, and looked at Saya.

She rose, came over to him... and slugged him in the stomach. He doubled over gasping.

"Damn... That's worse than stabbing myslef..."

His voice was barely above a whisper as he said it.

He knew that was for going on a suicide mission alone.

Morallis chuckled as much as was possible given his condition.

"Come on now!" Kirk laughed "You can take impalement but you can't take a punch in the gut?!?"

He looked at Morallis, "Oh, and a package should be waiting courtesy of the Ministry of Health in your quarters."

Morallis nodded and hurried off. His temprorary artificial voicebox was here.

"You... try... it."

He finally made his way to a standing position again.

"I'm sorry Saya, I really am."

He managed a look of remorse, which obviously wasn't caused by the pain in his gut.

He tried to lead her over to a seat so he could explain.

Kirk looked at Dagger 5, then at Saya, then back.

"You know, after due consideration and in-depth thought on the matter, I'll pass."

"I thought so."

He took a seat and looked around.

Ed's cell phone buzzed and he quickly flipped it open. "Yeah? Oh hey. What? They got it on WNC? Right." Ed ran over to the TV and turned it on. "This is what i did while you guys were off tromping through some jungle." The World News Channle ticker flashed by, a terroist attack on the Union embasy in Mereshka. "This is Ira Green, reporting on the terroist attack. With me I have Captain Richard Smith, commader of the garrison at the embassy, Captain Smith?" The reporter handed the microphone over. "Yes, it as reported, there has been a terroist attack on the embassy, although intelligence suggest that the terroists reponsible are not based in Mereshka, but took the first opportunity they could to attack the Union." The microphone went back to the reporter. 'And what of reports of the terroists drinking the blood of the wounded?" The mic went back to Captain Smith. "Civilians tend to imagine things when in a state of panic, what they saw was merely the terroists investigating the wouded for anything of interest, ammo, food, the like." "This is Ira green, foreign correspondent for the WNC, wishing you a good night." Ed flipped the TV off. "See? Been shooting up vamps to."

"Why am I not suprised this is being covered up? Just like last time. If there's a legitimate threat, especially a seemingly supernatural one, governments always rush to cover it up. God I miss killing terrorists."

He was seriously annoyed, but didn't do anything. The feeling persisted longer than usual, but as always, it quickly passed.

"Hey, if the populace knew they were being treated like cattle, then there would be a mass panic. Besides," Ed shrugged. "It helps keep illegitimate fears of all powerfull vampires out of soldiers heads and makes them more effective."

"I never expect full disclosure, but letting the public know there's a threat, and that they should be on their guard wouldn't cause the apocalypse. They don't have to say stuff out-right, but saying that 'those reports are under investigation' would be a fine answer. as for the soldiers, all it does is keep them in the dark about who they're fighting. History has shown, again and again, that's the worst thing you can do."

He shook his head. He didn't expect this to be getting through too much, and it hardly mattered, but still he kept going.

"If they don't know what to expect, then when they see it, they'll freak out even more. It's like not telling soldiers about tanks when they were first invented. If the government doesn't tell them, then rumors'll spread, and everything'll go straight to hell."

He had first-hand experience with what he was talking about. He'd been leading a training mission, a few years back, and it was in a zombie-infested area. He hadn't been informed that the trainees didn't know this. They'd been attacked, and he'd lost 3 of the 9 trainees. Four more immediately quit, and ended up in asylums. The last 2 stayed with it, tough as nails those 2. He knew that not telling the soldiers what is and isn't true only breeds fear.

"Yeah, true. Althought the government never officialy does state out right that those reports are false. For example, the UH crisis brought to light the whole zombie crisis, so now the civilians are fully aware of it."

Dagger-5 was secretly glad he lived in Shenyang. He found himself deep in thought.

'Back home the citizens would know there was a problem, they'd be told that there was a new threat, that it was something most would consider 'super-natural'. They would be assured the military was doing everything possible, and told to be on their guard. Soldiers would know exactly what to expect, so they wouldn't be surprised, there wouldn't be any of this cover up crap... ...I guess we Shenyangi are just a little more mature than most.'

"That's just ridiculous," said Vanek. "In VDB, me and my brothers at least try to make decisions. Except I'm not the one who announces them." He showed off his fangs and took a sip of blood. "But what I worry about the most is what's going to happen after TBCS. The object is to eliminate vampires, right?

John said "I was the one that made headline news by nuking a vampire colony in the north of Calizorinstan, don't worry Vanek, they were evil, not good ones, I was the one who dropped the bomb, they deserved it.."

Dagger-5 nearly cringed, but fought the impulse. He took his M-1014 and began dissassembling it. He tried to explain why he'd stayed to his wife. He honestly didn't have a good reason, and he knew it. Slowly the weapon was broken down into its various pieces. He carefully cleaned the parts and put them aside as he did it.

"I know, I'm in more than just hot water, more like molten steel but, I couldn't stand leaving that village yet. I had to make what I did and what I saw worth something. I, shot that woman, the one that I reported as dead."

He was having trouble finding the words, because he couldn't justify what he did to himself. He finished cleaning the weapon and reassembled it, he finally continued.

"She was dying, painfully, she'd been bitten several times, and they, they were using her as bait. I didn't realize that, and one attacked me, lucky I got away and killed it. Then I went back to help her, before you left, but she asked that I save her daughter, and, that I kill her, she didn't want to become a vampire. I felt that I had to honor her request."

He leaned the weapon against his knee. He stared at it for a few moments. Again he continued.

"Then, later, when John was pinned down, I was on my way to you, and I changed direction to assist. I ended up in a small church hut. The priest was dead, he'd been stabbed several times, evidently falling back into the hut. The vamps didn't follow me in when I took cover there. This is when I found the first packet of documents. I heard everyone else was finding survivors over the radio. All I could find was death."

He shifted in his seat. He was surprised how this had affected him.

"So, before we got out of there, I decided to stay, to try and find anyone or anything else. Beyond that, I couldn't let the CA guys go it alone down there. I knew it was a terrible risk, but I needed to make that mission mean something."

He was done. He sat there in silence. Everyone in the room could hear what he'd said, and normally he'd have been embarrassed, but today it hardly mattered to him.

"Well now, it takes guts shoot an infected civilian, no matter what, I'll never get used to having to shoot infected civies..." Ed said. "I've had my fair share of those experiences, both civilian and military."

"Same here, but this was different. I've shot people, afflicted, and otherwise, I've seen people die. This time, I had to stare into her face. I had to watch as someone who hadn't done anything wrong. Someone I should have been saving. I had to watch as I put a bullet in her head, like an execution."

He was still staring at the floor.

"Seeing that priest, and killing that woman, it was completely different from anything I've done. It felt, wrong, just, wrong."

He knew that he was psychologically fine. He was just shaken up, still, that mission was weighing heavilly on him. He started to understand Dagger-4's cynicism.

"Hey, this is war, get used to it."

Saya had the little girl she had found on her knee. For some reason the girl refused to go near anyone else, just pointing at Saya snd saying: "Shes a nice lady, I'm staying with her". Saya didn't mind though, it was enjoyable. She still didn't have a name though. Saya looked at D5 with an odd look. "Well, did you at least get the documents"? She asked.

"Remind me to get you a job as a psychologist."

His voice was entirely detached, he didn't appreciate that statement at all.

"Shooting unarmed civilians, in what is commonly considered to be an 'execution style' isn't war. Its homocide. If you don't recognize that, then I have to pity you."

"Yeah," he gestured to the bag in the corner, "I got 'em."

"Yes, it is execution, but its for the greater good if they're just going to get right back up and attack you."

Saya turned to D5, "Look at it this way Alex. She knew what she would eventualy be driven to do, and she hated that. She wanted to die, she had seen the horrors commited by vampires, and she didn't want to commit them herself."

"She'd lost enough blood that if she 'got up', it would have been a miracle, even if she was a vampire. You didn't see it."

He ejected a small memory card from his helmet. It was the data recording of the mission. He placed it on the table. Part of him wanted to shoot it, to destroy what he'd had to do. Another part didn't want to forget. That part won, for the moment.

"If you think it was 'for the greater good' then you can watch the data recording. Then pass judgement."

"Exactly why its drilled into each and every Union soldiers head that death is better then becoming a Zed head or other viral created creautre."

Ed picked it up and then placed it in the slot in his helmet before putting it played back. He sat silent after the recording. "Thing with chance is it usualy doesn't play in your favor." He took off his helmet. "Für das grössere gute." He muttered.

Dagger-5 left the card and headed for the weapons range. He had to get away from everyone, even his wife for a while.

Saya understood he wanted to be alone for a bit, so she went to playing a clapping game with the girl. After a bit she looked up at Ed. "You know you weren't being very sympathetic."

"I know, I have doubts about the Union special operations creed, Für das grössere gute, which means for the greater good. But, I do have to agree with him, its execution." he jerked his thumb towards crispy. "Crispy on the other hand, his basicaly a lap dog for Union special operations, follows every rule to the book. Hes been like that for three years now."

John looked startled "For the Greater Good?, that was in Harry Potter, Grindelwald's slogan!" He fell of his chair in surprise..

Saya looked to Crispy. "Why is that Patrick"? For some reason the girl grinned at Crispy, and gave a wink.

Patrick sighed. "Because, I am a Union soldier, born and raised in Arkheim." he pointed at Ed. "He was born in the slums of Rotstadt, on the border of the wastelands. Natrualy, hes more creative." Crispy looked at the girl and smiled back."

Saya shrugged, "I was born and raised in Mereshka, and I don't agree with some of our policies."

John grinned wickedly "I however approve of every foreign policy that Calizorinstan puts out to the senate, for I draft all of them, Bwhahaha!" in a fake evil laugh, then he chuckled..

Dagger-5 arrived at his destination, the base shoot house. He readied his gear, and started the training. He fired a breaching round into the door. It burst inward. The shotgun emitted a loud thump. He cycled the breaching shell out and moved in. The building was full of targets. He engaged them, proving that he wasn't an assassin. Every single hostage target was completely unscathed. He reloaded the weapon and moved on. Soon he was finished. He sat a while, then went and changed out of the camo he'd been wearing. He donned his normal clothes and headed back to the break room. He kept his final weapon on him, a customized M1911A1, but it was concealed. He re-entered the room.

He felt significantly better, knowing that Saya understood, and that he could safely move on. He took a seat with Saya, but not close enough to startle the child. He tried to introduce himself.

"Hi, I'm Alex. What's your name?"

Part of him expected this to be a dismal failure.

Ed chuckled. "Neither do I, grew up picking pockets, namely because Rotstadt was listed as vergessene stadt, forgotten city, supposedly couldn't support life because it was so close to the wasteland. So when I was growing up, the Union didn't do much for me, so I don't really follow their policys to the letter."

The girl looked suspiciously at him. After staring for a little bit, she stuck out her tounge and laughed. She seemed to be recovering quite well from her ordeal. Saya stifled a chuckle, "Well thats not very nice!" She said.

"I grew up in a relatively small community, on the edge of the the Shenyangi Tundra. My parents took part in the revolution, and generally, they agree with the government. I always chafed a little under that, but I usually see eye to eye with the government. Some times I have a problem with the laws though."

Dagger-5 laughed, he had expected things to end much worse.

"Come on, I'm a nice guy."

OOC: Would it be okay if we ran with the 'fact' that D5 shot the girl's mother. Its what I originally intended.

IC: The girl stuck her nose into the air and moved closer to Saya. Saya grinned, "Well, he is a nice guy. You can at least talk to him." The girl gave another suspicious look and said in hesitant english, "Hello."

"Hi, what's your name?"

Dagger-5 tried to use his best Vietnamese.

"I don't speak this language too well."

He smiled sheepishly.

The girl simply shook her head. Then Aozora walked into the room, he looked rather irritated. "Hey, breifing room. We've got a problem". He said.

"all right, finaly I get bck into the action!" Ed grabbed his gear and dashed off to the breifing room, Crispy simply walked solemly.

Mark Ivanir, with a disgruntled look, stepped off from the helicopter. He watched it fly off into the distant. Curiously he looked around at the place. A couple of days ago he had gotten reassigned to something called "TBCS". Mark had no idea what they stood for, but was very pissed off that he was getting reassigned. Mark wanted to stay with his old unit, whom he had grown accustom to, but followed his officer's orders.

Now he was stuck in this hellhole. Mark picked up his bag and put the sling of his M14 around his shoulder. He had no idea why he was sent to this place, but maybe it had to do with his excellent marksmanship. The odd thing though was the first time that he ever fired a gun was in basic training. Before that moment he had never picked up a gun before, some how he shot with precise aim.

Mark waited for a minute, and knew that no one was going to show him around. So he started off into the building. Quickly he found a spare room and set his stuff in it. Once he was situated and after he cleaned his M14, Mark decided to look around a little bit more. Mark was still a little cautious of this place. For all he knew this place could be full of hostiles. All he knew is that he was suppose to be here.

Mark took out his M9 Beretta and loaded in a new magazine. The M9 was swiftly put into his belt. Mark's head popped out of his room and looked down both ends of the hallway. Only a silence greeted him. There was something definitely odd about this place. He opened the door all the way and walked out.

Mark traveled throughout the facility and still found no one. Was this place literally a ghost town? Then he heard some voices and laughter. He found the door, which the noises were coming from. Mark stopped and stood next to the door. There was something in there. His hand moved through his white blond hair as he thought. He needed to find out what was behind it.

Mark pushed the door handle and opened the door. His hand was on his Beretta as he walked in.

"Bye."

He turned to the CO.

"There in 5 minutes sir."

He ran to the room and hastilly donned his gear, this time over a set of Multicam clothing.

He arrived as quickly as possible and took his seat.

Aozora looked up at Mark. "Ah, the new guy. Just in time. Follow me to the breifing room. We have a problem." He walked out of the door without waiting to see if he would follow. Saya hopped up and walked over to him. "Hey, my names Saya, whats yours"? She asked holding out her hand.

Mark stood motionless. He had only been here for twenty minutes and some guy comes to him, then says that we have a problem. Well at least these people weren't shooting at Mark. He snapped out of his trance, once he heard someone trying to talk to him. Mark then noticed that it was a women, who was trying to shake hands with him. The hand was just there, and Mark looked at it for a moment. Then firmly grasped it.

"Private Ivanir, Mark Ivanir..." Mark said as he looked at the women who addressed herself as Saya.

Ed walked over to the new recruit. "Word of advice Mark, keep your eyes down sight and don't worry about thwta you shoot, chances are it going to drink your blood."

Mark just stood there looking over to the Ed. Honestly Mark had no idea what this guy was talking about. What the hell was the purpose of this "TBCS" and what would drink their blood?

Saya laughed, "Hey, you better get moving buddy. Don't want to be late for your first mission do you"? She asked with a grin. She ran off torwards the breifing room.

'What a bunch of weird people...' Mark thought. He just shook his head and followed the group of people. This was the last place he wanted to be here. He wished that he was back on the base.

I amend my previous statement on the mission thread, its now been 12+ days. I underestimated the time when I posted. For this I openly appologize, and would like to request leniency in light of my realization of the error of my ways.

Um, probably say 10 years older. Vanek's been a vamp for awhile.

And because of this thread, in all of my RPs, I always use Vanek and he's a vampire. Even if it's one of those fancy ballroom type threads.

That being the case, it could indeed be made possible. We could say they were estranged or Vanek left before Morallis was born to make up for not recognizing each other.
