Somewhere in the Russian wasteland
Ordeith, or at least thats what he thought of himself anyways, leaned over the old man in the chair. He whispered into his ear "Come Father, simply tell us what we need to know, snd noone gets hurt yes? Don't you want your children to be even better? Hmm?" The old man started spouting off something or other about accidents, but Ordeith wasn't really listening, he was interested in one thing only. He sighed, "Why must you be this way Father? Now someone must get hurt." He walked to a second chair, where a young man was strapped down, one the scientists many assistants, the rest managed to escape. Sweat plastered the mans blonde curls. "I don't know anything I swear"! He knew they would not hurt the old man, but he was an entirely different matter. Ordeith grinned and leaned down, and traced a claw along the mans neck, leaving a thin trail of blood. "Some secrets are buried deep, but I know where to look." He said, and bit down.

Somewhere in Mereshka, TBCS base
Aozora paced around the breifing room, waiting for his new squad to arrive. He hoped they were as good as they're record said they were. He looked over them again. Most had experience in some government special forces or something, he was worried about this Saya though. Entirely too young, and not enough experience. He sighed, the people they gave him these days. He shrugged and sat down. He'd have to see them with his own eyes. He looked at a clock on the wall. They should be arriving any minute now.

En Route to TBCS Base

Ed leaned out the door and whistled, the new transports sure sped along. "hey Frank!" He shouted over the roar of the engine. "How fast is this thing going?" Frank leaned back. "Just about three hundred miles an hour, and I haven't even sped it up yet!" Ed chuckled and sat down in his seat, he had bee more then enthusiastic to take Saya's offer to help out the TBCS, but Patrick had felt likewise. Ed leaned over and tapped Crispys shoulder. "Hey, you still broken up about that?" Crispy did not even move his eyes, just sat boreing a hole in the wall with his eyes. Ed shurgged. "There are other women out there, you know." Cripsy turned and looked at him, waves of anger rippled off of him. Ed shurgged again. "just a suggestion."

Landing Pad TBCS base

Ed stepped off the transport ramp and onto the landing pad. "Talk about a welcome part.." He muttered. Frank leaned out of the pilots hatch. "Think I'll wait here and greet any one that comes, haven't seen those guys for years." Ed laughed, seemed just like Frank. He and Crispy grabbed their gear and headed towards the main door.

Aozora looked up at the newcomers. He noted one had a mechanical leg, that would be Patrick then. He thought that was good, he'd taken some damage and hadn't broken yet. That was good. The other one had red eyes. Edward then. Odd. He got up and walked over to them. "Welcome to the squad men. Good to have you."

An ISAF transport flew quietly over Mereshkan airspace aboard were several special forces troops, but only one dove out into the crisp night air. He free fell several thousand feet, then, finally triggered the parafoil. The black canopy slowed him swiftly and he glided toward the TBCS base. He hadn't seen Saya for several weeks, and looked forward to seeing her again.

He touched down on a helipad and quickly secured the canopy. After ensuring that his gear was in good order he entered the building. It never crossed his mind that it was entirely possible that his entrance would have annoyed his new CO, frankly, he didn't especially care.

He entered the briefing room and looked around to see who else was there so far.

OOC: Sorry for not signing up, UHC invited me, since my guy was coming back, and are we going to have a breakroom?

John Macked was finally going to see some of his squadmates, as he landed in his admittedly fancied out IL-62N at the TBCS base, with weapon in hand, he hopped out when he saw Ed and grinned and said "Long, long time no see pal, how's life been treating ya?"

The CO in question looked over to the man. Ah, the special forces one. "Welcome man, make yourself at home."
Just then Saya made her entrance, going through the door stumbling. She sat down panting, "I am never riding in an airplane again"! She yelled. Aozora looked her over, he wasn't really that impressed.

"Good to be here to." He said to Aozora. Ed heard some body behind him and turned around. "Hey! John, haven't seen you in quitea long time. Lifes been treating me well, what about you?" He pointed back to the tansport. "Franks over there if you want to go say hello."

"What happened this time Saya?"

Dagger-5 had a playful and inquistive smile on his face as he said it.

OOC: Ah, its fine. As for the breakroom, I hadn't thought of it, but its a good idea.
IC: The General looked around. Almost everyone was here, this was good. They'd be able to start soon.

"What happened this time Saya?"

Dagger-5 had a playful and inquistive smile on his face as he said it.

Saya grinned unsteadily, "Oh, you know how I feel about planes. They just don't agree with me."

John saw Saya and hugged her and said "Long, long time no see, I've gone from being CSOCOM, Foreign Minister to a SU-27 Flanker pilot, long story also."

"Well, this is true. How've the last few weeks been?"

It was just then that he noticed Crispy, he sensed danger, but knew he couldn't do anything about it. He didn't give any indication that there could be a problem.

Saya laughed, "Oh hi John." She grinned again, "Looks like you're doing well for yourself then."

She turned back to Alex, "Oh, I've been doing good, who about you eh"?

Finally, Dag5 walked over to properly greet Saya, he was still occasionally worried about their relationship, but most of the unnerving terror he'd felt at first was gone. He wasn't entirely sure about the military standards for being in a unit with your spouse were in Mereshka, and it was considered taboo in Shenyang.

John said "I wish Mick was here, he was one of my best buds in the squad, he covered me in battle, he was good.., darn hood.." He smiled as he brought out his E-19 RDI assault rifle, and his DDI .40 Imperial pistol and his HALO suit.

Saya grinned at Alex and gave him a hug and a kiss. "So mister, what have you been doing while not under my watchful eye"?

Crispy stood away from the rest, keeping his distance and watching from afar. Even though he looked calm, he was almost ready to burst from anger. he continued to watch until his earpiece crackled to life. "You know your mission, deploy with the squad, and secure it before they do." Crispy senty a burst of static as a response then continued to watch from afar. Ed looked around where they were. "Not to far cry from home." He shrugged then adressed no one in particular. "Did they have Styrker Island in mind when they designed this place?"

John wiped his brow and as he put on his suit and said "Remember the last mission we had?, ha!, we barely made it out alive thanks to the mishaps, and we thought Dag4 died in the ship fighting zombies, heh.., I still intend to make a move about the QCS, and the TBCS.."

Saya laughed at John, "Oh you can't make a movie about the TBCS yet, because its not quite finished.

"Well, I went hunting with 4, he cae home with 3 deer, I got one. He's spooky with that MSG-90, really spooky. Other than that I kept the place in order and saw a few movies. Nothing all that interesting."

He knew that him cleaning anything except weapons was suprising, but not unheard of, so he felt the need to tell her that. He looked around to see his other comrades from the QCS, then looked back to Saya.

Ed laughed. "Not while I'm in command of it your not. Yeah, those were good times... wonder if it'll be more fun killing something that fight back?"

Saya laughed at John, "Oh you can't make a movie about the TBCS yet, because its not quite finished.

John smirked and said "Just because it isn't finished doesn't mean I can't make plans, or has the laws of the movie making community changed since I last checked hmmm?" He raised an eyebrow and smirked and brought out a projector and said "I've been flying combat missions in the SU-27 for the last week or so, fighting mostly against the Khilistanian Air Force in the north..., I shot down 6 planes last week, and I nearly had to bail out two days ago, yesterday I nearly bought the farm because I put the control lock on by accident, and I unlocked it before anything serious happened.." A picture flashed of John in a SU-27, and Colonel John Arnold in a MIG-35 next to John Macked's SU-27 and he grinned and said "That's my best friend Colonel Arnold in the MIG-35."

Saya pretended to look incredulas, "You actualy cleaned the house? Its a sign of the apocolypse!" She grinned to show she didn't mean it.

Ed stood back and watched. Just like old times His radio chirped and he answered it. "This is Frank, f you don't need e any more, I'm heading out." "Yeah, go right ahead, don't think you need to stick around here any more."

Aozora interrupted them all. "Sorry to interrupt all of your heartwarming reunins, but we have work to do." He said. He looked overr them all. "Well, get in line, its time to breif for the first mission."

John nodded, put away the projector, loaded his E-19, and his DDI .40X pistol, finished the last touches, his suit on, and he said "I am ready to rumble!, yes, I am ready!"

Ed formed up close to the front, he noticed Crispy in the very back, as far away from Saya as he could get. He shrugged and waited until they got the order.

"Well, how did you think I survived on my own?"

He looked jokingly self-righteous. He then turned to John.

"I'd make it a pair of movies, since if you do both at once, it'd be atleast 6 hours long to get most of the story across. That's just me though."

John nodded and sat down, being attentive to the briefing and said to Dag "Why do I get the feeling it'll be more difficult then the QCS missions?"

Ed leaned over. "Because we might get in a fire fight if they carry guns. If you recall we never had very many fire fights until end of our missions."

IC: Saya sat down on Alex's lap and grinnned up at him. Aozora noticed that but said nothing, in Mereshka, what went on between spouses was between spouses. He cleared his throat. "Okay men, and girl," he said ignoring Saya's indignant look, "Our first mission is simple. There should be little enemy contact. A top secrete facility has been infiltrated in Russia by the blood suckers. They left soon afterwards. We need to find out what they were looking for, and if possible take a prisoner. Any questions"?

"Thinking blood suckers versus mindless undead, there's the problem. Atleast this time we can go full automatic if we want to."

He smiled slightly, then began paying close attention again.

John sighed and thought to himself "Well, I hope this mission isn't going to go haywire like the first 3 did before.."

"Hm, do we have clearence to shoot on sight?" Ed asked.

Aozora glanced at Ed. "Yes. Actualy we have orders to shoot any living thing on sight out there, unless they can prove themselves friendly."

"Should we attempt to secure anything else while we're there? Intel for example?"

He glanced away from Saya as he said it.

"Hi!" said Thomas Vanek, barging into the room. "I'm Thomas Vanek, and I just joined the TBCS, am I too late?

John asked "Are we going to face any resistance at all when we get dropped in?"

"All right, been dying to test out my new rifleon something that actually moves faster then a shamble. But the question is, what purpose does a Russian research station have?"

He looked to Dagger, "Yes, we should. We should attempt to get as much as possible." To Thomas, "No, you're not to late. Have a seat." To John, "We hope not, as far as we can tell, there aren't any on radar. But this wouldn't be the first time the fooled our radars."

Ed stood up. "Well now, lets get to it."

Aozora shrugged, "Top Secret, all I know is that it has something to do with the research of these things." He looked around, "All right, lets saddle up. Chopper will be here in 5 minutes. Lets move people." Saya groaned at the idea of flying again, but got up, grabbed her katana and sniper rifle, and got moving.

Vanek pulled up a seat, accidentally showing his mouth-it was full of white, glistening teeth. He sat there, hoping nobody would notice. "So, what are we doing?"

Ed went over to his gear and grabbed his rifle and newly forged Union saber. He noticed Crispy only grabbed his rifle and pistol, under armed for a mission like this. He shrugged. Whats with him?

Realizing everyone was leaving, Vanek stood up, grabbed his sniper rifle, his rifle, and his wallet with his pilot's license, and headed to the chopper.

Saya hopped on the helicopter, trying not to think how high up they were going. Instead, she set to sharpening her katana and waiting for everyone else to show up. Aozora got in soon, and took a seat without a word.

John hopped in the chopper with his E-19 in hand and grinned and said "I wonder what the President will think of his Foreign Minister running off to the TBCS?, this will be an adventure I should think.." He sat down next to Saya and Dag..

Ed got into the chopper. geez, their technology is really lacking... Crispy took the seat next to him. Ed opened a private channel to his helmet radio. "Whats with you buddy, never seen you like this." Crispy didn't respond. "Thats an order." he added. Crispy simply turned towards him. "You'll find out." He said.

Vanek hopped into the back with surprising agility. He put his rifles in the back, along with his sword, and called "Shotgun!" He was a pilot, and he wanted to fly helicopters, so he went up front with the pilot.

Once everyone was in the pilot looked back, "All right folks, get comfortable, this is a 4 hour flight."

'Four hours? Geez, long flight." He flipped the face shield across his helmet, the external speakers activating auto matically. "Might as well get some sleep. Oh wait... thats right... I don't sleep any more." He flipped the face shield back again. "What I wouldn't give to be human again..."

Vanek looked toward the back, where he saw his friend John Arnold from Calizoristan. "Hey John, what are we doing here?" he asked, again showing off his fangs, and wincing.

Saya, still trying to take her mind off of the flight rached down into her supplies and pulled out a slab of chocolate. She always had some for flights. As she sat nibbling, she looked around at all of her old teammates. It was just like old times.

Ed checked and re checked his rifle. Something about it didn't feel right, it was way to light. Never get used to composite materials.. he looked over at Saya. "So what have you been doing in between the QCS and this?"

Vanek looked toward the back, where he saw his friend John Arnold from Calizoristan. "Hey John, what are we doing here?" he asked, again showing off his fangs, and wincing.

John said "Do you know me from the ICFS?, the Flight School?"

She shrugged, "Not much. I've mostly been taking care of the house me and Alex got. It was quite a fixer upper. I'm thinking about going to colledge though. So, I heard you were made the General of the QCS".

"Yeah. Lawrence went missing and I got the command. Let me tell you, the nuggets that i've got right now don't even come close to the effectiveness we've had. I've had to personal hunt down and kill several infected QCS members, I need better soldiers."

Saya shook her head, "They didn't give you much eh"?

'bunch of raw recruits with above average aim, thats it. First mission I went on with them they went to pieces, Frank Crispy and I managed to mop it up without there help, cowards were to busy scrambling over one another for the transport."

Saya snorted, "Why do they give you stuff like that? Yours is an importanta mission afterall." Just then she seemed to notice Crispy for the first time. "Oh. His Patrick. How are you"?

Ed shrugged. "They seem to think its not as important as the regular military." Crispy turned to look at her but said nothing.

She turned away from Crispy back to Ed. "Do they not remember what happened to the city?"

John said to Ed "You mean that the newer QCS soldiers weren't as good as we were?"

John said "Do you know me from the ICFS?, the Flight School?"

"Umm, yes. My cousin is Ryan, from there. I attended there last year." said Vanek. " To Ed and Saya, "Hi, what are we doing here? Like, our mission? And, what's the QCS?"

OOC: I forgot I wasn't using Ryan. This is the first time I've used Thomas, so bear with me.

Saya turned to Thomas, "Oh, hi. Well, what we're doing here, is right now we're basically gathering intel. And the QCS was a squad much like this one that fought zombies."

"Hmmm," said Thomas. "Hey, that guy over there, what's his name?" (OOC: this is United Human Countries' character)

Ed adressed both of them. "Appearently not, they don't hvae the discipline nor the combat experience to fight the aflicted. Might as well just have the regular military take care of them."

"Well," Said Saya, "Which one? Thats Ed and thats Crispy." She said pointing to each one respectively.

OOC: I got two, which one?

OOC: The one who tried to sleep last page. Is he a vampire? Because my guy is too. I've been dropping hints (obviously, I'm not very stealthy) hoping my guy can get exposed. Not that he's a traitor, just a big argument.

Dag5 boarded the helicopter and took a seat, he went through the time honored tradition of checking his weapons. He did a cursory check and then looked up. His TAR-21 was slightly more beaten than it had been in the past.

Oh. Darn. Anyway, I'd like a huge argument so somebody go ahead and point it out.

"Never mind," said Thomas. He than began studying the controls of the helicopter. But then he noticed a guy jumping on right after they lifted off. "Hi, who are you?"

John leaned back with his E-19, and said "You know, I have a second assault rifle back at base in case this one doesn't work out, a Hali-53."

Before the chopper lifted off two men in an all too familiar dark blue armor walked toward the chopper. Both bore gold badges one had a gold chain around his right shoulder. The armor was fully enclosed, so their faces were masked.
As they stepped in, the one with the chain spoke up, "Our apologies that we're late," his voice was masked partially by the helmet, "It's good to see you all again. We at the Dominion can't thank you enough for aiding us. I was the Chief Justiciar who retrieved you before the outbreak got out of hand. Sergeant Victor Kirk, Dominion Civil Authority. This is Corporal Joe Morallis, our resident expert on vampire hunting. Had more close calls than you've undoubtedly had encounters."

The second officer nodded at the group, not speaking.

"Hello," said Vanek, hoping that the expert wouldn't decided to use his talents right now. "We always can use more people."

OOC:

RS, please see a post at the top of the page, it'll explain. Go ahead and expose me though.

And i have to get off for a while in a couple of minutes.

Aozora looked at the two newcomers. "And who are you." He aske bluntly.

Dagger-5 had a bad feeling about this 'vamp hunting specialist' from RS. He slid slightly closer to Saya and rechecked his weapon. He didn't look at this 'specialist', but he kept close track of him, waiting for something to go wrong.

OOC: Submitted Morallis's profile on the OOC, the vamp character I talked about.

Kirk appeared unphased, but then again he was invisible behind the faceplate, "Morallis, helmet off for the time being."

The two removed their helmets, Morallis had a large scar across his throat. Now it was obvious why he didn't speak earlier.

"We were sent by the Dominion at the last minute to render assistance," Kirk told Aozora, "We were unprepared for the zombies, but Dominion Intelligence has tracked these creatures for some time. We're from the Unsolved Cases Department of the Civil Authority. I've got about one year's experience, Morallis has about four. Lost his voice literally on his last assignment. Hasn't affected his skill though."

Morallis smiled and nodded at the compliment. Oddly enough the smile had no warmth, but just the opposite. The air seemed to chill a little when he did.

Saya gripped the hilt of her katan and got even closer to Alex. "I don't like that Morallis". She whispered. Aozora looked both of them over. "Well, welcome aboard then." He nodded torwards the pilot and they were off.

Alex nodded his agreement.

"Stay sharp, not that I have to tell you to. If you need back-up, call, and unless I'm dead, I'll be there."

He was reassured that she didn't trust him either.

John didn't like the look and sound of Morallis, his jaws tightened but he said nothing, keeping his hand on his DDI .40 pistol just incase Morallis tried something..

Kirk clipped his helmet to his belt and pulled out a small screen with an ear piece and boom mic clipped to it. He detatched to mic and hooked it into his ear. The screen was fuzzy for a second but then coalesced into the Dominion emblem which then transferred him to a view of a brightly lit office. A familiar face sat at a desk. Kirk looked over to find that Morallis had put his helmet back on and dozed off.

The voice from the screen spoke up. The earpiece wasn't plugged in the way and the entire helicopter heard Mick speak, "Alright Kirk, what've you got for me?"

"Sir we barely made it to the helo but we're en route. Morallis is asleep."

"Good, keep an eye on him. He hasn't quite been himself after that last mission. Make sure the kid's alright."

"Affirmative sir."

Saya laughed, "Hey, are you talking to Mick? Whats he doing"?

Kirk blushed a little, seeing the partially plugged in cord.

"Saya? Was that you? Kirk you idiot turn the screen!"

Kirk jumped at the order and turned it. Mick was in a rather large office/lab/weapons locker. There were scores of weapons that no one recognized and were undoubtedly classified. By the smile on Mick's face he didn't care. He was clothed in full black and gray body armor that looked unfamiliar. People in similar armor were shimmering in and out of sight behind him.

"Saya, good to see you again! I see you've got the rest of the gang there too. Sorry I couldn't make it to the party, but since they put me in charge of a new department I've been busy overseeing new technology to better help us fight extranatural phenomena like zombies. Or vampires in this case." he took a deep breath before continuing, "Things between you and Alex are going well?"

Saya didn't notice, but Alex made a grimace of apology. He knew it wouldn't mean much, and that he'd only gotten lucky when Saya had chosen him.

Saya's grin faltered a little bit, but picked up, at least he wasn't acting like Crispy. "Yeah, things are going great." "So, you were made head of that department? Thats great! Congratuations"! She smiled, "Good to see you Mick, hows life been treating you besides the all the grandeur"?

John turned to the screen and said "Mick, how are ya!, I am now also the head of the Air Force once again, I have had to deal with the troubling NPE-CA war that is looming ahead, I have not gotten a good nights rest in at least 5 monthss..."

"Well you know, I'm alive and kicking still. We're still cleaning up after-"

He was interrupted by a bright flash and explosion behind him followed by a score of curses and a wisp of smoke.

"But we've still got some kinks to work out before everything's perfected. Otherwise it's been the flood of medals and press conferences you'd come to expect. We're still cleaning out the sewers, which is the reason for the body armor I"m wearing. Fully enclosed to mask smell and active camo to hide motion. Our theory is to engage them with little to no detection. We're currently exploring how effective it'll be on vampires, but it's still in planning. How are things over there?"

He looked at John, "Congrats! But my friend, from the intel I've been getting, this isn't the assignment you want if you want a good night's rest."

Saya grinned and was about to answer when the pilot interrupted, "Hey, ETA is 10 minutes, get ready. We made better time than I thought we would." Saya shook her head, "Well, looks like we've got to cut this short Mick. I hope to talk to you sometime later." She hopped up, snatched her katana and rifle, and stood at the ready. Aozoara beat her though, "Alright folks, lets get ready to move!" He shouted.

Mick got a quick wave off as Kirk shut down the screen and put it away. He nudged Morallis and checked his rifle and pistol. Joe did the same, also making sure that the shortsword strapped to his hip was secure. Kirk pulled a trench spike out of his boot and made sure it was sharp. As he ran it along his finger a groove was cut into the armor.

"With pleasure."

Dagger-5 jumped up and slung his TAR-21. He drew one of his XD's and pulled a chisakatana. To anyone who'd known him before this may have looked like a pathetic imitation of Saya, but he was actually quite proficient in the use of his swords.

He got ready to dive into possible death.

Saya grinned at Alex and pulled her katana. They may both use katanas, but they're styles were different. She really didn't have what could be considered a style that she used reguarly, but she was proficient at battoujyutsu, and good enough at the Kamiya Kashin style. She grabbed one of the parachutes, waited for Aozoras go, took a big bite of chocolate and jumped, ejecting the parachute earlier than she probably should have.

John strapped his parachute on, and ran out and jumped and yelled "BONZAI!" as he laughed, facing possible death with delight and roared "Death is the next great adventure anyway!", his parachute opened, and he landed on the ground, and took a look at the surroundings..

Dagger-5 free fell much further than anyone else. He enjoyed the feeling of flight, and tripped his chute at the last possible instant. He landed fast, but rolled as he'd been trained. Quickly he swept the area with his XD to ensure it was safe. He watched as the specks fell, and he paid carefull attention to Saya's speck.

"Landing zone clear."

The two Civil Authority officers, despite basically being cops, had been unphased by the special forces surrounding them until jump time came up. They'd had some experience in paradrops before, but this was the first real drop. Where Kirk was hesitant, Morallis in a total breach of personality jumped almost excitedly out of the plane. Kirk followed cautiously.

When they landed the two assumed a back to back stance and swept the area with their DM-32's, making sure it was clear.

John saw Dag5 land next to him, having swept the area with his E-19 and made sure nothing was around and he said gruffly to Dag5, "It's quiet, way to quiet for my liking, something is odd, I can feel it in the air.."

"Yeah, and its not just the fact that Morallis is freaking creepy. I'm betting there's something out there."

He wasn't going to let anything threaten his wife, the others could handle themselves, and though he knew she could too. Still, he felt that he had to do his best to keep her safe.

Kirk looked around, "I dunno Morallis, I've investigated crack houses that were more inviting than this."

Morallis keyed a confirmation over his mic. His headset had preprogrammed responses spoken in a computerized voice. They both switched visual to thermal and looked around for any and all signs of life.

"You suppose they show up on thermal?"

"Negative" the voice intoned.

They keyed off thermal and switched to motion alarm.

Saya landed right next Alex, and almost threw up. She stumbled a few feet, then threw off the parachute. "I hate paradrops"! She yelled. She looked around. All seemed clear. No sign of Vampires, but then, they could be so quiet you never could tell. She sheathed the katana, she felt like battoujyutsu today. Aozora landed nearby, pulled out a wakizabi, which is to the katana what a short sword is to a longsword. He pulled out a spray paint can and began to paint cirular stripes along his arms. After he was done, he looked around. "Everyonr make it okay"? He asked.

"Maybe you should try popping the chute earlier, the free fall can be disorienting."

He was trying to offer some advice, but he wasn't sure it'd help.

John said "Yep, which way is the building they want us to check out, hmm, keep our eyes peeled, we don't know what the baddies look like, plus they carry guns know, instead of the gunless, rushing zombies we faced before.." He kept sweeping the area with his E-19, to make sure nothing would sneak up on them..

Morallis's mic responded, "Roger"

Kirk added, "Yeah, they told us our armor would come in handy. It meant for SWAT and anti-riot use. The guns won't be what we'll worried about."

Morallis gave a grunt and bowed his head. He knew full well what to watch for, he'd seen enough men lost to it. However he quickly regained his composure, still icy calm, and continued his sweep.

"Morallis has a bit of a vendetta," Kirk clarified, "If we get a chance I'll tell you about our last mission. If that's alright with you buddy."

Ordeith ghosted along the edge of the group grinning at all the people. He smelled them, that aroma of fresh, warm blood. He could almost taste it, so sweet he wanted to puke. He looked up, at his fellow vampires, almost completely silent. He motioned, and they all moved forward, about 6 of them. Only a couple carried fire arms, but they wanted a nice silent kill anyways. They moved along the shodaws, trying to get closer without the humans noticing.

"Contacts, range 300, number unknown, 2 o'clock. Confirm."

Dagger-5 was at a level of concentration he'd never reached before. Having to protect someone very special to you really hightened his senses. He restrained the need to shoot first.

John felt the presence of something unhuman, and turned and saw the vampires, and he didn't gasp, he took it on himself to alert the others to the presence of the vampires, and opened fire with the E-19 and lobbed some grenades and roared "Vampires, they tried to sneak up on us!"

A motion alarm keyed in the officers' helmets.

"Contact!" Kirk yelled over the com. Kirk and Morallis zeroed in on the closest motion they found and fired, bursts of 6.5 Grendel ammo ripped through the darkness. The vampire was highlighted in the beams of their flashlights.

Dagger-5 switched to his TAR-21, the weapon chattered as silenced rounds puncuated the darkness. A few were tracers, their ghostly blue hue combined with the green laser made an interesting effect as they headed down range.

John whipped out his katana also, and got close to one and gave a decapatation strike , backed off and repeated it on one, backed off, gave a quick strike to one, nearly severing it's arm and backed off..

Morallis stopped firing. He took a deep breath and concentrated. The laugh hadn't phased him or Kirk, they'd had too much experience to be scared by something they heard so often. He felt other presences and with an almost unnatural speed whipped his rifle around and fired at another contact behind the group.

Very soon all of the vampires but Ordeith, who had not participated in the fight, were down. Blood soaked the ground, which always happens after killing a a group. Many of them were not only bullet ridden, but had missing limbs. Aozora pulled his sword out of a body, "Alright squad, lets move before more show up. Lets get to the building."

Ordeith laughed again, and this time talked to the group. "Oh, so you managed to kill a few of the scum did you? Brava, most would have died, even with those pathetic excuses for vampires. But in the end it will do you little good. Oh, and don't worry, you're good work shall not go to waste. I grow thirsty".

Dagger-5 made the split second decision to cover Saya, he drew his Chisakatana and ran forward. Where there was one enemy, he knew there would be more. He saw more beginning to resolve from the mist. He struck at the creatures with his swords.

His methods were suprisingly fluid for a person with 2 weapons.

John cleaned his sword and kept it drawn incase more vampires came, and wiped his brow..

Under his helmet, Kirk's face showed complete disgust, "You sick son of a bitch what makes you think we'll leave anything for you to feast on?"

He lobbed thermite grenades at the corpses before catching up with the group.

Dagger-5 kept a close watch as they moved. He wasn't going to let this thing get to him. He loaded a new magazine and watched every direction that a threat could come from.

John sheathed his sword and brought up his E-19 and looked around to see where any threats were most likely to appear..

Morallis gave Kirk a nudge that said way to get on his badside as they walked.

Kirk shrugged, "What difference does it make? He'll be dead before the end."

Morallis cocked the bolt on his rifle to show agreement as under the helmet he flashed that cold smile again.

Saya looked around nervously as she walked. What kind of creature would eat its own dead? She shrugged and resheathed her katana, getting ready agoin.

Ordeith silently moved along behind the group, kepping as close as he could. Whoever had that motion sensor probably knew he was following them, but he didn't care. He and the others would leave them alone until the entered the building, that would be so much more fun, they knew what scared humans, to get that delecious adreneline pumping through their veins. Its amazing what a few doors opening by themselves, voices, and shadows seen out of the periphreal vision can do to the human mind. He laughed again, he looked forward to it.

Joe got Kirk's attention and motioned that they were being watched.

"Not a problem," Kirk replied, "Just like all the other hunts. We'll take care of those worthless blood sucking vermin."

Morallis winced a little at that, but it was unnoticable. He nodded his approval all the same.

OOC:The group has been attaked by vampires, one is ghosting along behind, and we're all heded to the research facility.

John knew that a vampire was following, he was inwardly scared, but on the outside he was tough, and pressed on anyway and he suspected a trap at the research facility, it would be just like the vampires and he voiced that concern to Dag4, and he said "Dag, I am getting the feeling that the vampires have a little surprise waiting at the building, I just get the very strong sense of it.." He swept the area with his E-19, extra alert..

Vanek walked along. He had been thinking hard and just realized what had happened. Darn it, I should have done something, he thought.

Dagger-5 saw the facility in the distance. He kept his dismay to himself, but still found himself saying what he'd meant not to.

"Great, thinking vamps in CQB. Sounds like a crappy musical..."

The building was coming up, Aozora looked over his shoulder at the group, "All right, lets get going folks. Be cautios, we don't want anymore surprises."

"So, what do you want to do?" asked Vanek to Aozora. "I'll go first in any case, I think everyone else will like that.

OOC: Inside, can I take control of a vampire? I just want him to say something.

John said grimly "I am afraid we will in all likely hood face some surprises, it's how they operate, trust me I know. I killed some in Calizorinstan, and well, it was ugly..." He kept alert, looking around and thinking how lucky he would be to survive this mission..

Dagger-5 looked at Saya, he hoped she was ready for this, he'd seen one too many horror movies not to know what to expect. He mentally prepared himself for what was to come.

Saya took a deep breath. Here it comes, she thought.

John steeled himself for what would come inside, and drew out his katana ready to go out fighting if need be, he wondered how the President would explain his disappearance..

Kirk spoke up, "Everyone's thinking it I'm just saying it: I've got a bad feeling about this. Oh well, at least it doesn't matter where we hit them. It's not like First City..."

He had horrible memories of what happened during those long weeks. Morallis punched him in the arm, snapping him out of it. As they approached the building, internal computers in the armor showed Kirk his adrenaline spiked.

Game time. The two officers slung their rifles and pulled their sidearms, removing the flashlights from their rifles and using them in their offhands.

"We'll go first," Kirk volunteered.

The TAR-21 was once more slung behind him, and Alex pulled an XD and a sword. Despite its size he flipped it, he'd found that it was easier to fight in close with it inverted, as it kept his profile compact.

Vanek spied through the door with a rifle, not spotting anything he crept, went into a crouch next to the wall, and gestured for the others to follow.

Aozora held up a hand, "Wait for Venek, he'll give the signal."

John said as they approached "I do not fear death, rather I fear that I will lose many of my friends, but I must control it, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to live, and survive those monsters.." He now held a pistol in one hand and the katana in the other..

"We'll go next, house searches are right up our alley," Kirk offered, "The best part is we don't have to announce our presence this time."

"Sounds good," whispered Vanek as he crept, heading for a staircase.

Aozora grinned, the first time he had the entire time, "You better not announce your presence, thats the last thing we want."

Dagger-5 pushed any thoughts of failure of loss from his mind and steadied his weapon. He was ready for whatever came at them in there.

John slowly focused his thoughts on a victory, sure with a price, but a good victory over the vampires nonetheless, and he explained "I am doing some pre-battle meditation, to clear my mind, and think of victory over the vampires, that way I am not all negative, and that I can have a positive outlook no matter what anyone says otherwise..."

Morallis followed with Kirk behind him. Motion trackers read negative so far, but they'd find anything lying in wait. Whether it be vampires or humans, the Civil Authority always got their target. With some of the most sophisticated systems for tracking fleeing suspects, it would be relatively finding the vampires. The trick was what happened once they found them.

Saya began to start on the chocolate again, a sign of nervousness. "Whens that guy going to get back"? She asked noone inparticular.

Vanek crept up the staircase, then saw a vampire on guard walk right by, luckily without noticing. "Get back," he said, and hid himself, while creeping up.

Response, Mereshka.

The vampire saw him, and saw his teeth. "Ah, Venek, long time no see. What are you doing sneaking around huh? Man, I haven't seen you since you were turned. Get over that going to the humans nonsense yet?"

"He'll be back."

Dagger-5 tried to sound reassuring, but he wasn't sure it came out right, he was in such a concentrated state of mind that how he said things didn't factor as much as how alert he was.

"What, Hejduk? No way, I thought you were bigger," said Vanek. "And you know, I always hated you." Then a sword came out from Vanek and he thrust it toward Hejduk, engaging a swordfight. "Go," he said from the side of his mouth to the others. "All the vampires will come here. Leave!"

"Doesn't matter," Kirk said pulling the hammer back on his pistol, "We'll kill it when it does. And it seems," he said turning slightly to look at her, "Commander Hawkins was right, you do like chocolate."

He produced a dark chocolate bar from a vest pocket and gave it to her.

"He's also very sorry about missing the wedding. There was no spite or ill will, he saved countless lives with time he put in on the research going on. That was all I was permitted to tell you without compromising national security."

Then the confrontation started.

"You heard the man, Morallis and I will stay. We've faced worse. MOVE!"

John saw a vampire with his back to him above, and he smiled and fired 5 shots into the vampires back and as the vampire fell, he rushed forward and stabbed the vampire with the katana and rejoined the squad.

"Commander Hawkins was right, you do like chocolate."

He produced a dark chocolate bar from a vest pocket and gave it to her.

Dagger-5 suddenly felt a prescence he didn't want to feel. He turned around and emptied his XD at point blank into a vampire Rounds sliced into its face and throat. It dropped on the spot.

"Now would be an excellent time to move."

He expertly reloaded the pistol.

John quickly decapitated a vampire with the katana, and slicing another vampire's arm off, and shooting him in the chest with the DDI .40 pistol muttering "What if Jack Sparrow could see this.." He ducked shot's, and he fired into the back of a vampire running at Vanek, and the vampire fell.

Hedjek laughed, loudly and boustrosly. He jumped at Vanek with a broadsword drawn.

Saya heard the laugh, "Hey, what was that"? She hopped up, and after taking a large bite of the big slab, ran into the building. Aozora cursed and ran after her.

OOC: I've got to get off now, and so you know, all the squad will find in there is the body of the man who was interogated, and the security video showing it. Anyone can control my characters, but if someone uses Ordeith, don't kill him. Goodbye. After the mission feel free to open a breakroom or somesuch.

Vampires started falling in rapid succession, almost all from headshots. In the Civil Authority, you were taught that when it came time to use your gun, it was as a last resort.

"I hate sterile environments. Too inhuman."

He heard a voice say something about 'if you think that's inhuman...' but he couldn't make out the rest. He quickly ransacked the room, looking for any intel that might be useful.

John saw Hadjek leap at Vanek and fired 5 shots of .40 DDI rounds into Hadjek, and decapitated Hadjek for good measure, seeing another vampire come down, John fired the last two shots in the magazine, dropping the vampire. He reloaded quickly and rejoined the squad.

"Jeez, you can't go for honor these days." Vanek said to John. "That's the way vampires go, like Hejduk and... me. I'm a vampire."

OOC: Sorry, i just think vampire names should sound fanciful and tropical.

Victor had seen many things throughout his lifetime. This bloodbath was just another emotional scar. He and Morallis had formed up outside the lab to cover Dagger 5. They shredded vampires that came their way, hollow points tearing them apart internally as the buckshot like pellets spread through them. Kirk told Morallis to keep watch as he moved into the lab.

"Anything?" he called to D5

John replied to Vanek "Yeah, well, I wanted to make sure he was dead for sure, I don't want him you know killing me, when I think he's dead, now I've made sure for certain.." He kept his E-19 rifle level, sweeping the place, however it seemed as though they had taken care of the vampires, but he kept alert.

Dagger-5 appeared in the door, his pistol leveled on Vanek.

"Proof, now, I want proof you're not a threat."

His eye was twitching. Someone else would have to defuse him, because in that state he was out of control.

John said to Dag5 "If Hadjek was going to kill Vanek, isn't that proof that he is on our side?" He was trying to me a on guard mediator, while looking out for any vampires that would come up, he saw one and shot it dead, and looked around..

John said "I wonder when our rescue chopper will get here..", he said this as he fired his E-19 rifle at some vampires attempting to come up the stairs, and he fired at two that were running in from another door, and dropped them.

Finally, Dagger-5 felt the urge to kill Vanek relent.

"I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me just them."

He knew full well that it was a direct threat to someone he cared about that had set him off. He tried not to let this show.

"We still don't have a prisoner yet."

He was saying it matter-of-factly, but he felt that the mission was another classic under-informed failure.

Before he could react, he felt something bite down on his shoulder. He knew it was a vampire. He truned back to look at it out of the corner of his eye. It was struggling to pierce his body armor.

"You're gonna regret that in exactly 5 seconds."

He knew that the others didn't have a shot, so he thrust backward with his sword. It barely pierced his torso, missing anything vital, but severely wounding the vamp behind him. It released and he stepped away, with the sword still embedded in his side. He wiped the blade with an advanced antiseptic (destroying any vamp gene) and pulled it back through the wound.

The vampire wasn't dead, but it certainly wasn't going anywhere. He secured it and looked at the others.

"I love this armor."

He smiled as the waves of nausea washed over him. He was losing blood. He poured a clotting agent into the wound and then looked back at everyone.

"Perhaps now we should be going."

OOC: Incase you haven't gathered this already, Shenyangi SF are widely believed to have a death wish. Stuff like that and what 4 did during the QCS operations are relatively common, if not ever entirely sane.

OOC: Someone ought to create a TBCS breakroom thread like we had with the QCS..

Dagger-5 was beginning to regret his decision. He knew that he only had a few more minutes of useful consciousness before he blacked out. He hoped the chopper arrived in time.

OOC: I will, it'll be a Calizorinstanian piloted one since the TBCS has multi national equipment...

2 UH-1 Hueys approached the landing zone, the door gunner firing at any vampires approaching, the first one landed, the pilot Tom Menlo Franklin yelled "Get in boys, while you still have cover fire!", John stayed behind, and helped Dag5, Saya, Ed, Crispy and the rest in, and they took off, and the 2nd one landed, John hopping in, and it took off and headed back...

OOC: We've got the sqaud on the two Hueys headed back to base now..

The blood loss was just about to catch up to D5 as the aircraft lifted off. He shifted slightly and tilted to get a more comfortable position. Then, moments later, he slumped over unconscious. He had no control of where he landed, and for that matter, wasn't even aware of what happened, he fell over, and his head landed on Saya's shoulder. He was out for the rest of the flight, and the trip to the medical wing.

In his state he realized that it was somewhat odd, Dag4 had passed out after his first QCS mission, and now he had passed out on the first TBCS mission. He was vaguely aware of being brought into the medical wing, but he still remained unconscious.

John's Huey was later then the others, because , they left later then the others, and they had to take a careful route to avoid the small arms fire of any vampire unfriendlys around.., but he finally landed 2 hours after the others arrived..

As Kirk and Morallis stepped off they made for the breakroom to debrief, checking to insire their gear was intact.

OOC: I dealt with the problem, his body armor stopped the bite, so he's really just fine, except for the stab wound of course.

That's exactly what Vanek thought, so he saved him. And he was running low on blood. But, at least according to the vampire books by Stephanie Meyer, he's completely human now, or whatever, SuperDignified Human.
