UFAN General Headquarters, Lucianus, Granate:

Christine Friechdich General Secretary of the United Federation of Allied Nations was nervous to the least waiting just behind the curtain of the Press Room of the UFAN Headquarters. A Wagdogian by birth she was strong, proud and above all Loyal to the cause. Composing herself she breathed in and then out. Nodding to herself she walked down the Stairs and through the Stage Door shortly followed by her flanking bodyguards. Climbing the Stage she stood behind the Transparent Podium which had the words The United Federation of Allied Nations written upon it. Behind her stood the delegates of every UFAN member nation. With the current situation it was only to be predicted that Christine would have to make this announcement to the world. The Press had all predicted that this announcement would soon be made:

"Good Morning Ladies and Gentleman thank you for coming. Today I must call you together to announce to the world that with the current situation regarding multiple UFAN member nations in conflict with members of the Corporate Alliance. The United Federation of Allied Nations is bound to act in order to protect its members. As such under the UFAN Prime Directive and Article 1 of this Charter the United Federation hearby announces and delivers a decleration of War to the Corporate Alliance. From this moment on the United Federation of Allied Nations is hearby at War with the Corporate Alliance. Under Article 4 of the United Federation of Allied Nations Charter UFAN asks that the Neo-Prussian Empire allow UFAN to co-ordinate our Efforts to ensure this situation can be resolved peacefully.

UFAN is not a Violent or a Destructive Alliance we mearly wish to protect out member states. UFAN will continue to seek a peaceful solution to this crisis and I invite the CA to join me in Peace Talks.

Kaiser Von Braun was going over the spy pictures, intelligence reports, and terrain readings of the battlefield where the Fordreich Fleet was soon headed to.

"Well Gens Romae has a seawall...I do not know what kind of difference it would make, but it would certainly be an advantage for us."

"Couple of missile salvos will bring it down sir. It wont be that much of a defense once it is blasted several times with hundreds of pounds of explosives."

"An advantage is an advantage none-the-less. Any other reports you got for me, major general?"

"Well...UFAN has declared war against the Corporate Alliance, sir"

The Kaiser starts laughing

"What? They declared war on the CA? On what grounds?"

"We believe it is because of that member involved in the Battle for Gens Romae."

The Kaiser starts to crack up

"Are you seriuos? Oh wow...One of their members declare war on a member of our alliance, and we dont have the right to protect our member? Hell they're the aggressor in this shit. They might beat us, but it doesnt matter. They just made a political error in this. I hope they learn fro this mistake"

"Agreed, sir."

"Now...lets get back to the situation at hand...."

General Wallins, director of the Lyran Diplomatic Corps, read through his daily briefing report while awaiting developments at Pembrey Beach, when his eyes locked onto a section detailing a declaration of war by the United Federation of Armed Nations, against the Corporate Alliance.

He took another sip of his tea, and read through to the end of the report.

The situation was interesting, of that there was no doubt. The ramifications were hard to ascertain. Opinion within Lyran Intelligence, Wallins knew, was divided on this matter. Not that the move had been expected, but the scenario had been considered before. Some thought that CA would prevail, given their record of decisive action, others would argue that the numbers were piling up against them.

The outcome would neither help nor hinder Lyran interests, at least in the medium-term, although many of Lyras' trading partners stood to gain or lose a great deal.

He placed the report down on the desk, and leant back in his chair. He considered sending a message to either or both of the warring factions, but doubted it would serve the Protectorate's interests.

Lyras would bide its time.

OOC: I was just making sure, I knew what the situation was. So now I'm going to be involved in a war, even though I haven't done anything to UFAN or NPE.

"Yes," asked one of the four Princes, rulers of the VDB, Prince Thomas Vanek.

"We have an important news flash for you-please turn on the TV to VetakaNews.

It showed Christine Friechdich, General Secretary of the United Federation of Allied Nations, declaring war on the Corporate Alliance.

"That's suicidal," said Prince Chris Drury.

"Well, we don't know a lot about the UFAN, but, yah, you're right," said Prince Ryan Getzlaf.

"Let's wait to see what happens," said Prince Daniel Briere. "We are not a member of either alliance obviously, we shall see if we need to step into this conflict. The CA has been throwing it's weight around a lot, I wouldn't mind seeing it losing."

Dear Nations Involved,

We believe this conflict has been coming. Our official position is neutral until further notice of this situation.

Good. I don't mind too much, it's just that the inter-alliance relationships (for instance, my alliance/NAP with BL) are bound to screw things up. The only real way to avoid this is to limit the alliances allowed to fight, I think.

Does anyone understand/agree with me?

Blegh. I kind of liked being friends with your nation, and now you got to go declare war on us?

Would much prefer if peace could be worked out.

I accept that the decleration of War was quite strong, however the Prime Directive of the UFAN Charter and Article 1 states that attacks on UFAN member states would be considered an attack upon all of UFAN. Seen as multiple UFAN memberstates are now in conflict with the CA I felt that in order to protect other UFAN states it was a logical course of action. Within the actual UFAN Thread it is stated that all UFAN members should mobilise their Military Forces for defensive operations and be ready to deploy to other UFAN nations whom require aid.

UFAN will always be a peaceful Alliance however it will also always protect its members. If a Peace Deal is on the table then I would agree without question. I accept that perhaps my wording of the Decleration is rather vague and for that I apologise this Decleration should perhaps have been referred to as a General Mobilization of UFAN in preperation for Defensive Operations. After all UFAN is made up of smaller nations whom at this time are weaker than the CA if the CA wanted to they could destroy UFAN. Either way I have learnt my lesson and I apologise for that.

Can I also remind people that OOC Comments and Discussion should be made within an OOC Thread. OOC Comment within a IC Thread is confusing, rude and leads to bad RP.
