3:54 AM, Central Command Executive Building, Greater Economic Union of New Manth

The planning had been in the works for months. The upcoming attack against Vizion in Cazelia was still a state secret, known only to a select few in the government. The planned war against the New Prussian Empire was slightly less clandestine, but still no official word had been given of Manthian intentions.

Even before the wars started, however, there would need to be massive preparations. Already measures had been taken - factories were being switched over to wartime production, reserves were being mobilized, and the entire economy was gearing up for war. Tens of thousands of missiles, ships, tanks and planes would be rolling off the assembly lines in the coming weeks, and the size of the Manthian military was expected to swell to over twenty million before either conflict started. The country would soon be fighting in two massive wars on different fronts, and every last drop of blood and sweat that could be milked out of the economy would be more than necessary.

And then of course the strategic position needed to be improved. Dozens of plans were being drawn up - among many, a preliminary invasion of Saudi Arabia to secure oil supplies was in the works, anti-submarine listening devices would soon be deployed throughout the Mediterranean and the near Pacific, and border fortifications and coastal artillery were being massively beefed up.

One such plan concerned the nation of Israelksitan. A tiny nation compared to the eight hundred million odd Greater Economic Union, the Manthians' northern neighbor had been more or less ignored previously. A few border disputes here and there, and noone from Manth liked the Jews much. But in all relations had been uneventful.

That would soon change. Not only was Manth in dire need of new sources of production and money, but Israelkistan sat disturbingly close to the Suez. After the conquest of Saudi Arabia, the Canal would become critical as the highway of oil to the rest of the Greater Economic Union. And when any of New Manth's enemies could force or cajole their way into Israelkistan and easily shell the canal with long-range artillery, that was a simply unacceptably strategic situation.

Four armored divisions had been quietly activated and moved into the Sinai. They were officially there for exercises, joined by the Thirty-Third Mechanized and the 453rd Airborne to practice combined-arms tactics with Denomination of the Air Force planes in the open desert of northern Egypt. Even the soldiers had not been informed of the real purposes behind the deployment.

Similarly, the battleship U.S. Alexandria lay a few dozen miles off the enemy coastline, accompanied by her battle group. She was purportedly there to patrol the sea lanes and enforce the border between Manth and Israelkistan. Four other battleship battlegroups 'just happened' to be in the Mediterranean north of Suez, and dozens of submarines had also converged on the area.

OOC: Israelkistan, would you be so kind as to roughly describle the current military situation in your nation?
Israelkistan

Only 300,000 soldiers were on active duty as part of the nationwide draft, a speck of dust compared to the massive legion that is the New Manthi military.

Israelkistan had seen wars like these in the past, training was training, but shifting these numbers was never just a drill, hundreds of thousands of men and women of the working force were called into reservist duty, paralyzing the country economically, and effectively putting themselves under siege.

The workforce that wasn't called to duty was shifted to Taas factories, new cities were formed in the Negev made up entirely of tents and hastily built assembly lines, Eilat was transformed into a military outpost, it's many hotels made into launch sites for artillery and short range missiles.

The northern Golani division was near disbanded and the soldiers sent to man buried machine gun nests and disguised as civilians to function as post conquest guerrilla in the inevitable triumph of New Manth over Israelkistan, the Tzanhanim, coupled with the Air Force effectively created a perimeter around Eilat, and expanded the air port to hold enough planes to ensure that there were always some number of airborne paratroopers close enough to the border to react immediately to an invasion, and enough room in the hangars to keep them all fueled.

The Shayetet sea division deployed indiscriminate mines along the western coast, any ship or submarine passing through would be destroyed along with any marine life in the area.

All of this, though, did not buy the Israelkistanis any peace of mind, they were aware that the gigantic New Manth war machine would grind whatever defense they would set up to dust, they would swat the Israelkistani military like a fly, but what were they to do, stand by and wait?
The Black Agents

-High Altitude - near orbital-

The Solid black aircraft soared through the air like a hot knife through butter. Making little disturbances, and scanning for potential threats. The pilots wearing suits that looked like the astronauts so that they would not die from the lack of oxygen and the cold. Standing at the back of the aircraft was a single man, this man had a sword and two pistols an a large black bag. This man also wore armor, one as black as the night sky in which he would be falling into.

He walked forward slowly as the back door opened and exposed him to the icy cold air...or lack through of. The man walked forward until his feet where at the edge, only being held to the craft by the magnets in his foot armor. The man then opened his arms and fell out of the plane going into a free fall. The man fell like a lead balloon, through clouds and air for what seemed like hours, but the reality was he was approaching the ground fast. The man pulled a cord and deployed a large yet transparent chute, which slowed his free fall as he touched down on to soil about 2 miles from the capital city of the target of invasion. The man who landed was none other then the infamous Rogutis Agentie Cybernetic Agent- 55-b.

7:32 AM, Bridge of the Battleship Alexandria

Captain Asad Garanzi scrateched his chin, carefully examining the latest satellite images from Israelkistan. They had gotten wind of something, that was for sure. They were moving large numbers of men and calling up the reserves.

Normally a mobilization would be bad news for an enemy, but in this case, though it would certainly make the war itself more difficult, in the end it would probably help the Manthians. The Israelkistani were doing all the hard work of converting their economy over to military production themselves, and all the Manthians would have to do would be to, essentially, waltz in and take it. And a man with a gun who is fighting you as part of an army division is a man with a gun who isn't at home stockpiling weapons and waiting to start an insurgency.

Garanzi's UAV reconaissance planes had reported the enemy was laying naval mines off the coast, and that would certainly be a problem later in the war, as the mines would be costly and time-consuming to remove if the Manthians were to get any use out of Israelkistani ports... unless, perhaps, Israelkistani POWs could be induced to give up the mines' locations. That would come later, though. For now, the Alexandria was content to avoidn the hazardous waters and sit well away from shore. Her guns would be operating at around maximum range, even with ETC, but accuracy or collateral damage would not be a huge concern to the Manthian fleet anyway.

Garanzi walked over to the communications station, sat down, and after a moment's thought sent out a message.

"Battlegroup Alexandria is in position ninety kilometers offshore. Standing by to begin naval bombardment."

7:57 AM, Denomination of Foreign Diplomacy Sinai Division

The section leader of the Denomination received a message, along with simple instructions.

This message is to be transmitted to the government of Israel at 8:05 AM precisely. The contents are Classification Level One. That is all.

8:05 AM

The message arrived at precisely 8:05. The Israelksitani leadership would have exactly twenty-five minutes to contemplate its contents.

For the Israelkistani leadership, it would probably be the worst twenty-five minutes of their lives.

Yet.

To Whom it May Concern:

Due to persistent border violations and recent threatening mobilizations near the Manthian border, the Manthian Government requires the following:

-That the Israelkistani military and government surrender immediately to the Government of New Manth
-That Manthian forces will enter Israelkistan to disarm the military, maintain order, and ensure that no further aggression is carried out by the Israelkistani state
-That a Manthian CCX liaison will take over civil and military authority in Israelkistan until further notice. Should the Israelkistani government cooperate with Manthian forces, limited self-rule may be granted.
-That no resistance to the Manthian military is to be attempted by the military or civilian populace of Israelkistan. Should individual Israelkistanis take it upon themselves to attack Manth, the Israelkistani authorities will assist New Manth in bringing such criminals to justice.

Should this ultimatum not be met by the Israelkistani government by 8:30 AM upon the date of receipt of this message, we regret to inform you that our two governments will be at war.
