Admiral Chinh was pleased. His invasion of Crystal Island had been a resounding success. While the island’s defenders put up a valiant fight at first, the island’s leaders capitulated quickly once they realized their government had abandoned them. When all was said and done, a third of the Admiral’s invasion force had been lost in the conquest.

“A fair price to pay for a foothold in the NPE homelands”, the Admiral thought.

Now it was time to secure his prize.

With a scant seven marine divisions remaining, the Admiral concentrated the bulk of his ground forces on the island’s more populous west coast. Six of his seven divisions were stationed there. Smaller brigade sized units were dispatched to secure major cities and airfields elsewhere on the island.

A massive airlift operation was now under way. Men, material, and aircraft were pouring into the country as quickly as possible. Given enough time, the occupation force would expand to 600,000 fighting men.

With a massive garrisoning effort under way, the Admiral turned his attention to Crystal Island’s citizens. The island’s upper class had largely fled before the invasion, and those who remained behind were largely demoralized by their quick defeat. As little collateral damage had been inflicted during the invasion, the Admiral hoped to direct the local’s anger towards thief former leaders before any resistance movements sprung up. To that end, radio and television stations throughout the island were directed to play five minute long propaganda messages every hour.

“Citizens of Crystal Island, no doubt many of you are wondering what Emperor Nero has in store for you. Simply put, he wants for you what he wants for his own people: peace and prosperity. While we are at war with the New Prussian Empire, we have no quarrel with you. In fact, we view you as brothers-in-arms. The same leaders that sought to destroy us are the same leaders who kept you impoverished…”

OOC: There are a few other things going on, which I didn’t feel like going over in great detail.

- Many of my fleet’s non-combatant ships (like troop transports) are returning home with a light escort.
- My fleet is now positioned 200 miles west of Seryrath City.
- I have all sorts of CAP’s patrolling the skies.
- Sonobuoys are being deployed around the island to warn of approaching fleets.
- The Emperor has ordered the renamed the nation's major cities.
- CAPTOR mines are being deployed near major ports on the north, south, and east coast.

The nation of Toopoxia takes great interest in the efforts you have displayed in siezing the lands from an enemy of the Alliance, we look favorably upon this and we wish to assist your forces immediatly in the deployment of a large Taskforce.

New Binaria City, New Binaria

General Gustaf Gravod was standing in a command bunker some where under New Binaria City. To his left was Admiral Jason Kelbon, and on his right General Feris Melban, commander of the Marines in New Binaria, and across from him is General Rachel Pellog, The Air Force commander in the region. "Nero's empire has invade and ae occuping The Crystal Islands. They have renamed all major cities, and land forms. The new map is shown here." He jerkedhis head towards the map behind him. "We need to strike thmbefore they start digging in. The sooner the better. Any ideas?" The table was silent for a moment before General Pellog said something."We have plenty of mssiles that can hit them. I would suggest that we target airfields, harbors, their ships at sea, and army bases."


From sites all across New Binaria, 800 hundred long range missiles with high explosive warheads started to move towards the Crystal Islands. 600 hundred of them were aimed at Nero's Air craft carriers and the other 200 were headed towards air and army bases.

The rigors of war were beginning to take their toll on Admiral Chinh. The "old man" as he was affectionately called, had hardly slept for two days. There was much to be done, and the days just didn't seem long enough.

More than a little irritable, the Admiral managed to refrain from snapping when his assistant burst in the room waiving a dispatch.

"What now", the Admiral asked.

"A dispatch from Colonel Dao, sir" the nervous junior officer replied.

"Well, fetch me my glasses, and let me read it", the Admiral responded.


Admiral Chinh,

We have insufficient forces to maintain order in Thien Duong and Troi. Locals are looting abandoned homes and businesses in great numbers. Airfields are still secure, but the cities are degenerating into chaos. Request permission to engage and restore order.

The Admiral lit his pipe, and contemplated for a few minutes oblivious that his assistant was still standing at attention. Eventually, he spoke.

"My father used to say that for every problem there is an opportunity for those clever enough to find it. Dispatch the following to Colonel Dao", the Admiral said.


Let the locals know they are free to loot the abandoned homes of those who left them to die. Also let them know that businesses and public assets such as schools and museums are off limits. Tell them they will need those things in tact if they are to enjoy a prosperous future. Offer amnesty to those who have already looted those sorts of public facilities provided they return whatever they've taken within 24 hours. No doubt some locals will violate these rules. When they do, introduce them to the Emperor's justice in a public display. Show them that while we are benevolent, we will not tolerate disorder.

Waters Outside Port Thien Duong

"If they were Toopoxican citizens..." General Solanz growled.
IndentAdmiral Revorvic placed his hand upon the Generals shoulder, "Let the Empire deal with them, we have to make sure the Prussians don't want the Crystal Mountains back." Revorvic responded.
IndentSolanz was still watching the horizon seemingly contempteous, Revorvic had sat back down in the Captains seat, "Admiral," One of the officers was now standing besides him, "Communique from the Empire." The officer handed over the slip of card.
IndentRevorvic nodded and handed the card back to the officer, "Forward it onwards to Lord General Smarz." He stared back towards the Crystal Mountains Coastline, it shone in the sunlight, he grabbed the PA system tuned into the Imperial frquency, "Empire of Nero, our forces have arrived to assist in reinforcing the region, we wish to dock in the port of Thieng Duong, is this acceptable?" Revorvic announced, he waited for a response.

The will of the NPE be done-and the will of the Amazonians to carry out the task with vengeange and fiery fury. The Amazonian armada in the area had been disengaged from their previous task as mandated by the Empire, and now a new task was in place. The Dominion liked autonomy and sovereignty, but the NPE was an alliance of convenience and strength, with like-minded nations as the Dominion...the Emperor, as power-hungry as he was, could flow with that for the time being, exterminating the enemy.

The ADV Viscount was commanding this fleet, led by the apprentice Ludo Kressh. He was the oldest of the apprentices, and the most experienced-though he wasn't even over 45. The fleet was a tough one-it was technically an armada, the strongest unit grouping of the Dominion navy. Kressh was one of the top military minds in the Dominion-and "liberating" Crystal Island would be a task he could certainly accomplish from the Corporate Alliance beasts.

Dreadnoughts leading the fleet off in an echelon, the armada moved towards Crystal Island to rendevous with the TPF fleets in the area, preparing to administer the justice...

Sixth Fleet

It had been chaotic this past week or so as the war continued to be fought at a furious pace. Now, Sixth Fleet, under the command of Admiral Wilhelm III was moving to link up the Dominion fleet, whereupon the two linked fleets would move to attack and free CMM from the clutches of Nero's forces. Already, Wilhelm had been informed that Binarian missiles were going to be raining down on the enemy, and High Command was about to assist him further in that regard. His fleet, combined with much larger Dominion fleet, combined with missiles and other such weapons, would be able to crush the Neroian fleet, forcing them to retreat and freeing up the fleets for their next assaults against other enemy fleets. Wilhelm watched with a sense of pride the working of the fleet, all of them doing their jobs as they were suppose to, ready to defend their homelands at all costs, ready to sacrifice anything for the glory of the NPE. Surely, with such pride and dedication, nobody could beat them.

Khan Missile Silo
Sergeant Jessika Watson sipped her coffee evenly, the starch blackness of it burning her stomach and jolting her mind. Coffee, she thought, was meant to be drank black, all the cream and sugar only served to make it a pussy drink. She glanced down at her computer console, no orders had come, and the screen showed nothing wrong with the Khan that she looked after, along with her co-worker, Dave. Since they really did nothing in the silo's all day but wait, she sat the coffee down and picked up the book she had brought with her. Then, an alarm sounded, and she jumped into action. A paper was rapidly being spat out of a hole, and already their were orders coming on her computer. Dashing to the computer, she accepted the encrypted communication. It was soon decrypted, and the coordinates now inside the Khans targeting computer. Then, along with Dave, they checked over the paper, making sure the authorization to launch was correct. They typed it into a safe, retrieving two keys. They then went to the keyholes.
" 1...2...3..." They both turned at the same time, and the silo doors began to open. A few seconds later, there was a horrendous roar, and flames lurched out of the Khan, and it soared skyward towards its target.

1,000 such missiles at been launched, aimed towards Nero's fleet, targeting SD's, carriers, and battleships, before moving on to the lesser vessels.

When word of Binaria's ICBM launch reached Admiral Chinh, the old man did not know what to make of it. In his experience, ICBM launches meant one of two things: Khans or WMD's. Initial target projections predicted 1/4th of the incoming missiles would strike land-based targets, which Khans were not designed for.

The old man issued the following two orders before boarding a helicopter to rejoin his fleet.

Incoming ICBM's have been detected. Seek cover immediately, and scramble aircraft as quickly as possible.

Incoming ICBM's have been detected. Deploy countermeasures, and move away from Crystal Island with all speed. Make ready to launch all aircraft. Admiral Chinh will be rejoining the fleet shortly.


In short order, 23 FCSSM countermeasure modules (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11993992&postcount=51) began targeting any and all non-allied surveillance satellites within a 700 mile radius of the fleet. Satellites known to be owned by NPE received priority. Hoping their enemy was now blind, radar and infrared decoys were deployed in large numbers before moving due west.

Meanwhile, Emperor Nero himself was franticly attempting to contact the Binarian government. He wanted to encourage them to abandon their missile strike before the Empire was forced to launch ICBM's of their own.

OOC: Emperor Nero, may I assume you have stabalized atleast one airport large enough to accomodate large numbers of C-17's and C-130's?

When reports of a second ICBM launch reached the Emperor, Nero was visibly shaken. With this new launch originating much closer to Crystal Island, there would far less time to react. With no way of telling what these missiles were capable of, the Emperor feared the worse.

The Emperor quickly weighed his options, and relayed the following message to the respective leaders of TPF and Biniaria.

My advisers have informed me of your missile launches. While I cannot claim to know the purpose or capabilities of your missiles, I am not inclined to wait to find out.

I have authorized the Imperial military to launch ICBM's equal to yours in number. Once your ICBM's have traveled 3/4 of the way towards Crystal Island, our missiles will be launched. These missiles will target areas within your respective homelands similar in size to Crystal Island.

I encourage your respective governments to bring our nations back from the brink of annihilation. Should you abort your missile strikes, we will abort ours as well. Furthermore, contingent upon the cancellation of your missile strike, the Empire is prepared to discuss terms for peace between our nation and your alliance, and propose the following.

- The NPE recognize the Empire's claim of ownership over Crystal Island
- The Empire will remain neutral for the remainder of the NPE vs. CA conflict
- The Empire will not allow Crystal Island to be used as a staging area for attacks against your alliance.

Considering your other engagements, we believe our proposal is mutually beneficial. There is nothing on Crystal Island worth the resources we would have to invest fighting over it. Its primary value lies in its strategic location, which would be rendered moot by our declaration of neutrality.

With your ICBM's already aloft, and ours ready for launch, time is of the essence. I encourage you to respond before it is too late.

The Nero leadership had taken acount for the Binarians and TPF forces so far, but the Amazonians had a large task force around, simply waiting for the time to move. The other two task forces had launched first, and the Dominion forces-now far from home-were simply waiting to close in. The force was loaded with ballistic missiles and cruise missiles, but the satellite jammer systems the Nero group had used had caused a few minutes's delay. To compensate before launching an attack of their own, satellite frequencies were mixing up, along with static decoy systems to throw off jamming frequencies. With satellite capability slowly coming back, the supercarriers in the area began prepping naval strike aircraft and interceptors to engage if it came to that.

Meanwhile, SSBNs hanging under the glassy surface of the sea began lifting towards the ocean surface, ballistic missiles loading into launch chambers. Not all were ICBMs-a lot were actually on short range-but they could still cause catestrophic damage when they hit targets. The SSBNs were tough, but fairly vulnerable-which is why Hunter Killer subs patrolled about beneath the waves, torpedoes and ASuW missiles prepped for engagement when needed.

They watched and waited for the response to the allied volley...

Having recently reached a peace agreement with the Prussians, we are unable to receive your forces as it would be viewed as a treaty violation. We recommend diverting your forces toward occupied Barokin if you need a place from which to stage attacks against the NPE.

We would be happy to receive engineers you have to offer as Crystal Island is woefully underdeveloped. However, given all the wars our alliance is currently involved in, we certainly understand if this is a low priority.

Expect the Emperor to contact you shortly. He has another venture in mind, which he feels could be mutually profitable.

Hahaha! It's just as well anyway. Consider all UES troops withdrawn.

IMPERIAL PROCLAMATION

Having been widely recognized as the rightful owner of Crystal Island, Emperor Nero hereby appoints his second eldest son, Claudius Nero, to be King of Crystal Island.

Furthermore, the Emperor hereby declares all waters within 200 nautical miles of Crystal Island's shores to be the Empire's territorial waters.

The coronation of Claudius Nero will take place two weeks from this day. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the Emperor declares it to be a national holiday to be celebrated by Neroians everywhere.
