TO: All nations or extra-national entities that have used, are using, or are interested in using equipment provided by the Protectorate of Lyras

RE: Future Projects

Protectorate Research and Development, through the Lyran Governmental Trade Department has, in recent years, brought out a number of highly selling and battlecapable pieces of equipment, namely the LY3A1/2 Warhound MBT, LY4 Wolfhound MBT, LY219 Ironheart APC/IFV and LY220 Shepherd AA system. Taken together, the four designs have have brought hitherto unforeseen amounts of foreign currency into the Protectorate's financial reserves, to the tune of several trillions of NS$.

As a means of keeping the Protectorate's new designs current and export-competitive, we have posted this open communication to all interested parties.

The long and the short is thus; in the absence of contrary directives from the Executive Command staff, what would you like to see Lyras design for export next?

I'd like to see you design a troop carrier like the Humvee, I've been looking for a replacement and there really isn't anything out there. Also, reconfiguring the LY3 to be a self-propelled howitzer would be cool.

When you finish it off, can you give me production rights? *goes off to see draftroom*

The Order of America would be thrilled to see Lyras create Military Equipment For Air Force or Navy. We are most impressed with their support Vehicles and MBT but to see the Technical innovation that Lyras would put into Naval and Air Force Products would Thrill our Nation beyond beleive

We would like to see more support vehicles as well as new missile technology.

Perhaps aircraft, too. Helicopters or support aircraft would be welcomed.

I suggest engineering vehicles like a minesweeper, an LY-4 with a big dozer blade- otherwise the LY219 series is rather well appointed.

Well, the choice with the words "electronic" and "battlespace" in it sounds cool, so I vote for that.

OOC to Imp Isa: The LY220 Shepherd was designed to fulfil the same role as the Tunguska, with a smattering of Tor to boot. If the short range AA is your thing, I think the LY220 is worth a look. Freely admitted bias.

Seriously, aircraft and support vehicles would be great.

Aircraft are unfortunately not my thing. They may become so, but I am an Army Officer in RL, not an air force one... but support vehicles will definitely come... exactly when is less sure.

OOC:
Any possibility of Radar/Ladar/TI/other detection systems or Electronic warfare/battlespace information systems in the future? There appears to be a decent amount in interest in both of those areas, and they're not as often explored by commercial designers on NS who offer production rights.
