ooc: you can't just say "I declare war on yourcountryistan" well, you can, but it makes you look foolish. You need to give some explination, better yet justification, for going to war. And yea, is that a real nation? And do read the stickies. And there are several wars going on right now, you might want to glance over them to get an idea of how it works.

Dude, drop the war. Start over, maybe OOC, or TG Nessisa or whatever and figure out how you want to do this, because a war involves both nations not just yours. You have to figure out manpower, weapons, time lines. My advice, stay as far away from war as possible unless you are absolutly ready to make a commitment for one reason...WARS LAST A REALLY LONG TIME! (Unless your a shitty Rper then they can end with:

I would argue against that, I faught a 1 hour war with BL once (of course, I surrendered unconditionally), wait, does it count as war if no shots are fired? Even so yes, the post war trials were quite lengthy.

But this dude is right, most wars last real months, even years, and if you are planning just a war between your two nations you may consider doing it as a closed war, with out outside interference, but the choice is ultimately yours.

No you didn't! Don't make excuses for your noobishness, everybody started somewhere. Just don't make the same mistake again or you will lose credibility.

Some more advice. If you want to have a war early in your nations life, make it a civil war or something. This way you can avoid some of the problems with going to war with other nations. A fine example of this is:

It isn't a good idea to immediatly start off with a bang, like a war (but boy are they coooool!!!! :D). It's recomended (sort of) to wait for your population to build up and to watch how other wars are fought. And The Far Echo Islands is right, these "wars" do sometimes take a very, very long time. And your country is just starting out, which gives you a small fighting force and a fragile economy. What i'm saying is, you have to be realistic with your nation's status and have good reason to go to war, or you wont gain much respect from the NS community. Which in turn means, your threads will be ignored.

Yeah, civil wars are a good way to start out.

War tax, theirs no such..........never mind, their is. And all war taxes are collected by Red Tide2, make sure you have the billion dollar war tax check in hand to submit to him. :)

Oh, no I wasnt. If he declares war then decides to make peace, he'll also have to pay the peace tax. Then there is the cost to mail the two taxes to their respective tax processing agencies... plus the penny tax.

Alright. Well, I am clocking out for another week or so. I don't want to get to involved. (I am inactive for long stretches because my internet is a piece of shit.)

"Firstly, nobody has heard of either nation, it would have been nice if you had raised a military, took some positions, made yourself a government and so on, in a sense, gotten your feet wet with what these forums can and can't do in relation to JG:NS proper

Secondly, once you have your government figured out to a first name basis of your leaders, then you post an actual declaration of war, true, this is an OOC thread you started by asking for suggestions on how to do this, and this is my response.

Thirdly, if you are talking about nitpicking, dueling, 'invading' and raiding in JG:NS, this isn't exactly the place for that."

With that, the old man tips his hat, tosses the boy a coin, and continues walking down the street.

As for "seeing what would happen" it is pretty simple, in the minds of all who saw this, you are (at best), a complete newbie that forgot to read the stickies (and hopefully you learned something from this).

I got bored of pure OOC...
Besides, it looks as if the whole issue was retconned.

All I'd have to do to make it pure OOC is remove the IC header and footer.

Kinda a change of pace from keeping all my IC and OOC so seprate I develop split personalities...
(especially when I start sub-dividing my IC personas)

So, it was really IC acting within an OOC context -using props from IC- proving I need more sleep, as now I'm playing with figments of my imagination (More than usual/healthy that is).
