Having read his new orders, Admiral Chinh sighed. Many years had passed since his rise to prominence in the GASN wars, and those years had not been kind. Now in his late sixties, the once proud hero of the Empire struggled with arthritis and a host of other ailments. Yesterday, leading his nation to war was the last thing on his mind, but his orders were clear. His nation was now at war, and the burden of leadership lay squarely on his shoulders.

The Admiral cared little for the NPE, and cared even less to fight them. If he had his way, his remaining days would be spent with his grandchildren, most of whom he’d never seen. But that was just a fantasy. His orders were signed by none other than the Emperor himself. The Emperor’s word was law, and there would be no appeal. All the honor and land he had won for his family over the years would be lost if he did not comply.

A few minutes later, the Admiral’s voice reverberated throughout his ship…

“Attention all hands. Now hear this. The NSS Pride of Hanoi is no longer the flagship of the 3rd fleet. We are now the flagship of the Imperial navy. As such, I expect her to look as good as she did the day she left dry-dock by 0900 hours tomorrow. Now weigh anchor, and prepare to make way for the South China Sea.”

The next day, the Admiral’s fleet would be rendezvousing with many others. Together, they would make hell for the NPE alliance, and anyone else that stood in their way.

Having rendezvoused in the South China Sea, Task Force Emperor's Fist was now en route to rally point bravo, 1,500 miles due east Crystal Mountains’ smallest island.

Commanding the largest Imperial fleet ever assembled made Admiral Chinh more than a little nervous. Should his fleet be lost, his family would bare the shame for generations.

We are to small to stand on our own and our allies were too disorganized to help. With the CA targeting each nation with a mismatch, its only a matter of time.

Moving one's nation is not a legitimate defense against invasion in my opinion, and Crystal Mountains did join the CA vs. NPE war of his own free will.

As I cannot and do not want to force him to roleplay with me if he does not want to, I propose the following to the NPE:

1) I assume control of the smallest island formerly assigned to Crystal Mountains.

2) My fleet takes 1/3 casualties.

3) Crystal Mountain's two other islands are marked as neutral, and won't be used for the remainder of our alliance wars.

To all the NPE and CA observers. Please let TPF and I work this out. I'd prefer to avoid a huge OOC argument.

So sorry I robbed you of the victory that you did not deserve.

I did not join the war nor did I fire a shot. The war appeared in my front yard in the form of 4 CA fleets that probably outnumbered my entire population.

OOC: Sure, my population is larger than yours, but this was far from an unwinnable for you. To keep me from conquering your nation, all you had to do was defeat my landing force of 200,000 marines, and you had millions upon millions of people to work with. Furthermore, your nation is surrounded on 3 sides by nations allied to you (many of whom are larger than me). Had you waited a little longer before abandoning ship, your allies could have bailed you out.

One important detail that you haven't mentioned is that I sent you a telegram about this invasion. I plainly stated that I would be willing to divert my invasion force towards one of your allies if you did not want to fight. All you had to do was send me a telegram telling me you weren't interested in this fight, and it would have been over before it started.

In case you are interested, I was once in a situation far worse than yours. When I had only 16 million people; I was invaded by Icovir, Wanderjar, and Skgorria. I didn't whine, complain, or cry foul. I just roleplayed the war to its natural conclusion. At the beginning it looked like I was going to get rolled over, but I held out. Other nations eventually came to my aid, and we ended up having a good war for a while.

The ability to roll with the punches is one of the things that seperates good roleplayers from the bad.

I have been asking for help ever since the CA/NPE war broke out and I had been ignored.
