Lyran MBT Delivered

The first of 200 new-build M4A1 Wolfhound MBTs has been delivered to the Bomblean Army. An acceptance ceremony will commence tomorrow in New Bury Square, marking a new chapter in the Bomblean Defence Force's history.

The 70-tonne behemoth is set to replace the Bomblean Army's ageing force of Mk 5 Chieftains and M60A3s, and to supplement the recently aquired Leopard 2A6EX. In addition to the purchase of 200 M4A1s, 300 M4A1-Ls are due to be built under licence in Bomble - the first of which is scheduled for completion at the end of August.

Senior defence analyst Greg Harkes, described the M4A1 as a "godsend" for the Bomblean Army and will serve well into the late 21st century. He added that the M4A1-L is "a true revolutionary for the Bomblean Army", as it is the first of any vehicle to be mass-produced under licence on Bomblean soil.

The development of the M4A1 sparked hostile comments by Varessa against Lyras, the developer of the Wolfhound. Bomblean intervention was noted by Lyras and diplomatic relations are consequently at an all-time high. The Bomblean Army has also recently purchased some 2,250 LY219 Ironheart APCs from Lyras, further bolstering an already highly mobile force.

The purchase of the Wolfhound prompted a change in designation policy for the force. "M" will now indicate an Main Battle Tank, instead of any sort of armoured vehicle. "Me" will indicate a Medium Tank, with the prefix "L" being a Light Tank. APC numbers will now be proceded with an "A" and so on.

The designation M4A1 and M4A1-L are local Bomblean designations. The true manufacturer's designation being the LY4 Wolfhound.
