All Questarian channels, be they television or radio, be they internet streaming videos, worldwide in every home, car and workplace that broadcasted them, began to quickly switch their broadcasting over to one unified broadcast. Anyone tuning into anything Questarian would receive this instead of their usual programming.

"This is Commonwealth Radio World Service Calling. The time is Eighty Fourty Eight AM, 14th July, Questarian Calendar.

Attention World: Eight hours ago, the Allanean Air Forces began their bombardment of the City of London. As of now, over half a million civilians are dead in one night. At least seven million are wounded or missing. There is no running water to the city, nor is there electricity. The St.James Children's Hospital and Orphanage, the largest in the country, was reduced to rubble. All major roads in the city have been destroyed. Just under ten thousand homes have been destroyed.

Royal Princesses Mary, Lucy, and Linda, who refused the pleas to leave the Imperial Palace in showing solidarity with their people were incinerated when a missile hit the Imperial Palace.

Today, the Questarian Tiger Sheds a Tear. Let it be known to the world that this is the atrocities the Allaneans commit so easily. Let it be known to the world our nation will never bow down to Allanean barbarism. We will fight, to the bitter end if needs be. Commonwealth Radio urges all Questarians overseas to return to the Motherland to fight for her against the enemy. We urge all nations to condemn the Allanean attacks.

The Tocrowkian Reich and His Imperial Grace officially condemn this act of Allanean barbarity, and we offer our deepest sympathies to the Questarian people. At this time, we would also like to reinforce our utter damnation of the Allanean people.

As if supporting sexual deviants was not enough for them, they now have to stoop to the level of attacking innocent civilians. Clearly, the depravity of the Allanean mind knows no end.

With this in mind, Steward Seth Mahone personally encourages his counter-part in Questers, King-Emperor Alexander II to fight on against the Allanean menace. Questarian Capital Bombed
Half-million civilians feared dead

Allanean bombers ravaged the Questarian capital city of London early this morning in a raid that set many sections of the metropolis alight. Despite efforts to defend the city against air attack, NATO-aligned forces managed to severely damage the capital. Major transportation arteries have been severed and thousands of private residences rendered uninhabitable.

The Questarian government's initial casualty estimates place the death toll at no less than five hundred thousand civilians. Among the rubble are St. James' Children's Hospital and Orphanage and St. Richard's Cathedral. At the hospital, rescue workers have already begun the grizzly task of pulling children and toddlers out of the collapsed and burning building. HNN staff photographer Michael Dietrich captured on film Questarian King-Emperor Alexander II, in soot-stained clothing, dragging a baby from the hospital's wreckage.

The damage to the city will prevent first responders and rescue workers from properly handling the situation, further compounding the chaos in London. It is currently unknown if any foreign nationals have been caught in the crumbled buildings and raging infernos. Reports indicate that several diplomatic compounds may have been damaged during the bombing raid. The Questarian Royal Family, like the city, has not escaped the maelstrom untouched. Three of the King-Emperor's daughters were killed in an attack on the Imperial Palace in what can only have been an attempt to assassinate the Questarian monarch himself.

On behalf of myself, King William the Seventh and the Crown government I express my deepest sympathies to the upon the Royal Family for their loss and people of Questers. This attack is completely indiscriminate and without justice The events of today have shown that Allanea is a rogue amongst all. We know we are on shaky terms with NATO but we call on them to see the morality of the situation and distance themselves from the murderous Allaneans. This attack on London is likely to have killed civilians for numerous Havenic nations, if neutrals have been harmed then sanctions may have to be imposed on Allanea after the incident in Kahanistan. The attack on a children's hospital is the lowest of the low, the Allaneans are truly monsters, if NATO wishes their name to be kept as an alliance of honour and good then turn against the Allaneans. Millions of Clandonians will be praying tonight for the people of Questers, the dead will be remembered and we are prepared to medievac the injured or provide emergency resources if Questerian infrastructure is unable to cope.

Travel advice to Questers has now been advised for all Clandonian nationals to make their way to embassy and consulates for registration encase of evacuation. Travel advice is for only essential travel, all non-essential travel plans are hereby cancelled until the situation returns to a more stable one.

Earlier today, a large Allanean force descended upon London from the skies; their intentions? To bomb the civilian population of Questers. To push them into submission. The only thing the Allaneans have accomplished is pissing the Questarians off even more. They have killed half a million people, they have destroyed much infrastructure, and they have wasted roughly 51,000 bombs. Their goal will not be realized. It is clear that he Questarian people still stand strong, as they should. The filthy Allaneans deserve no quarter, and will recieve none.

Now, I suppose this deserves some background on the Allaneans. The Allaneans are a people of anti-social proportions, which technically makes their society anti-social, which makes no sense. It is a well known fact that all Allaneans are homosexuals, furries, or emotional messes. They are lead by a computer nerd of a leader, who thinks he is cool because he can play an organ and bomb children. Their military has no discipline, this is clear. They name their divisions after such things as Celine Deon, and they are well known for saying things like "owned" or "pwned" which should not be found anywhere but the internet. The Allaneans are also elephant killers. Yes, that's right. Elephant killers.

I have been informed that earlier today, the bombings hit a zoo in London, where they killed 10 elephants. 10 whole elephants, my friends. Now, for any foreign reader, you must realize that the elephant is not just the national animal of Zukariaa. It is loved by all. It roams freely and abnormally in our mountainous forests. It is protected, and elephant poachers are regularly beaten to death as they deserve. In Zukariaa, you do not kill an elephant unless you have a death wish. The Allaneans killed 10 in one fell swoop. They have reached a new low. They have filthied their hands with the blood of innocent elephants, and they will pay.

And now I would like to address you, Mr. Kazansky, leader of Allanea, if you should for some reason be reading this Zukariaan paper(though you probably aren't). Your indiscriminate bombings of London, as I have said, have killed 10 elephants at a local zoo. You will pay for your insolence, Mr. Kazansky. YOU. DO. NOT. BOMB. ELEPHANTS. You have succeeded in pissing off the Zukariaan populace like no other. You will regret this, one day!

As well, the bombings killed 3 Questarian princesses, sisters of the Empress Mihoko. It is reported that the Empress was seen crying as she received the news at a party. What kind of monsters bomb innocent young girls? Princesses, at that? As if killing elephants was not bad enough! These people are disgusting. They have no chance of redeeming themselves in the eyes of Zukariaa, and hopefully not the world.

A man in his 60s read the newspaper and smoked while in the board room of the Aztec Storage Coporation, surrounded by 37 other men who did not exist. Officially, most of these men were either dead, missing, or non-existent and those were just the fake identities. The headline on the newspaper said: "Half A Million Killed in London Bombing Run". The smoker got up and threw the paper on the huge coffee table. All members peered over it. Some shrugged, others smiled, still several looked horrified. Most just stared blankly at the smoker.

One, a slightly overweight man that spoke with an English accent said. "What all this then?"

The smoker shrugged, hands upwards. "Thought this might be a good way of testing some of our more... unorthodox treatments for wounds." He gave a smile that would scare the devil.

A ripple of mutters crossed the room as all eyes turned on the two men who were talking. The English man spoke, uneasily. "Well, we would have to get members of our board into the relief men and convince the pres-"

The smoker held up his hand. "It is all ready done, Erik." He said calmly, like to a child. "I will personally go there with my team and we will be treating civilians. Unfortunately, some of the bodies might disappear." His grin got so scary that several board members went to the bathroom or to get some air.

The English man said. " 'k, whatever. Just don't screw up like the last damn time when you did this sort of thing, got it Cancer Man?"

Cancer Man lit another Northland (copyright) and said, still grinning. "Oh yes Erik, I get it."

Official Declaration of a State of Police Action

As the Arch Military Advisor I proposed a state of war exist between the nations of Allena and the Far Echo Island so as to assist the Questers in ending the siege on their capitol. While this passed by a hair in Congress, the Arbiter and Grand Arbiter vetoed it, however, after several hours of filibustering the legislation got the two-thirds majority needed to pass. However, the constitution dictates that a state of open war can only be declared with a majority congress vote the Arbiter and Grand Arbiter's approval, or without the Arbiter and Grand Arbiter's approval, a unanimous congressional approval. But with two-thirds of the congress behind me and my power as Arch Military Advisor I can declare a police action toward Allanea, which means that I can support your war with as much as 20% of active duty troops, but no more. We are currently scrambling 20 JAU-64 fighters and two airborne refueling craft headed for London in Questers, as well as 100,000 ground troops from various branches of our military.

The Premier of Celtayoshi calls for an immediate cessation if hostilities. I urge the leaders of all nations to take a step back, if only to allow humanitarian aid efforts to beign. We beg all nations to hold peace talks at once, our nation will provide a neutral ground for such negotiations. We even offer our soldiers to be guarantors of the peace by constructing a buffer zone until such time as either a deal is reached, or a more robust international force can provide additional protection. In the meantime, the Allied States of Celtayoshi will be conducting its own investigation into the events which took place, using whatever evidence we can obtain. We are not here to judge, but if it comes to light that a Crime Against Humanity has been comitted we shall consider carefully our actions.

Lately it seems the world has found a new tragedy to deal with. Mere hours
ago, the Allanean Air Force bombarded London, capital of Questers, killing over
half a million individuals, among them three Questarian princesses who had
apparently remained behind in a show of solidarity for the beleaguered capital;
the assault destroyed the nation's largest hospital and the Imperial Palace.

And a good job too, I might say, as a former member of the Steel and Fire Mil-
itary. What everyone seems to be forgetting is that this is war; the widespread
killing of civilians has become almost a routine feature of modern warfare, and
an accepted tactic in the eyes of many. Indeed, during this same conflict, it
is likely that Questers and her allies in the Questarian Commonwealth have
inflicted equal or greater numbers of civilian casualties upon Allanea and her
allies in the New Alliance Treaty Organisation, although full reports from Haven
have yet to reach the ears of the Steelian general population.

It is, of course, regrettable that lives must be lost. But that is the whole point
of war: the expenditure and manipulation of human life for political ends. The
Questarian Kingdom and Commonwealth has shown itself to be a master at
this game, and here again it displays its skill, by turning a morale-smashing
defeat into a rallying cry heard 'round the world. Indeed, it is much more so
than Allanea, which has consistently managed to alienate itself from the inter-
national community to the point where only a few still desire to associate
themselves with it: of the entire NATO and its allies in Gholgoth, a force totaling
over thirty nations, but a few have come to Allanea's aid in this conflict.

Therefore, mourn, world, and grieve; go to war with one party or the other,
if you so desire, or send whatever aid you feel like sending. But do not have
illusions about this war! To both sides it is merely a game, and a game in which
Questers has advanced another square; neither side particularly cares about
the expenditure of human life, and the calls for aid, the media war, the wide-
ranging succession of images that will play across the world's TV screens within
the next few weeks—all operate under the hopeful premise that somewhere,
somehow, there is somebody who does. §

My heart goes out to the dead innocents in this struggle, and I must say I am greatly displeased with the tactics and methods the Allaneans are using. However, it is not my place to disown the Allaneans as the Empire is fighting defensively in this war, a war that has no real point which we have been drawn into against our will.

It is a sad day when the citizens of a great nation must suffer under the actions of its government, as the Questarian regime's overzealous imperialistic tendencies have brought down this hellstorm upon its innocent people. Although we do not condone the actions of the Allaneans and would not engage civilian targets actively, I must say that the Questarian government did play a very large part in bringing this upon its people. By striking first, the Questarian government put its people in great jeopardy in bringing a pointless war of imperialistic aggression to the world.

It is an even sadder day, though, when innocents suffer under the actions of other governments. I ask neutral nations to not sway so quickly to the side of the Questarians, although their loss is great it is not the only loss. The Commonwealth is not without its own atrocities committed upon NATO civilians. In the Cravanian Overseas Territory of Carpanthium, well over four thousand civilians have been confirmed as killed, more than ten thousand more reported as missing and probably murdered. This comes as a result of Northfordian bombardment of the city of Millingston, the only major civilian population center in the territory. Cruise missiles rained down upon the city, indiscriminately assaulting civilian targets such as residential zones, hotels, schools, hospitals, and most notably the Carpanthian branch of the Imperial Bank of Cravan. The tower still burns into the morning with hundreds trapped in the upper stories above the flames, people of all nationalities working for the bank. Rescue efforts of these innocent workers have proven fruitless thusfar, however Millingston emergency officials work tirelessly against the threat of further bombardment. Northfordian missiles also struck against the Imperial Arms Hotel of Carpanthium, a five star hotel located in downtown Millingston. At the time there were not many guests in the hotel due to the heightened alert levels, however Northfordian nationals in Carpanthium had been interned in the hotel for the duration of conflict, in an effort to remain civil and give Northfordian civilians a comfortable stay during wartime. It is still exactly unknown how many Northfordians perished for the rubble is still being cleared, but at the time of the strike more than two hundred Northfordians had been registered and given rooms and another four hundred awaited processing on the ground floor.

War brings great tragedy and sadness to many innocent people, and produces little reward in the long run. Do not be so easily swayed by the imperialist Commonwealth nations, for their hands are just as bloodied as the Allaneans. They claim to fight for freedom, yet they only fight for power and money. NATO fights for survival now. NATO fights for its own freedom.

Support freedom. Defend liberty. Fight oppression and imperialism.

We would like to point out that the Allanean Strategic Air Command is supremely qualified, and has inflicted much more damage on the Questarians then the entire commonwealth has on NATO entire. So far NATO civilian casualties total about 54,000 dead, whereas Commonwealth casualty estimates range from 2 to 3 million dead and 7,000,000 injured or missing. We request an apology or a retraction.

My sincerest apologies. I was unaware of the exact numbers of civilian casualties inflicted in this war, being merely a retired veteran rather than a regular correspondent. My editorial was regretfully under-researched. However, the fact remains that the exact numbers of casualties are irrelevant in the overall scheme of things; Allanean Strategic Air Command could have easily inflicted ten times as may casualties, or one-tenth the number, with a roughly similar effect.

Transcript of an international news segement from HBC 1's Haven Today program

Alexandra Kinsley: Late last night the Allanean military conducted raids against the Questarian capital of London. In the attack more than half a million civilians have been either killed or wounded. NATO officials have attempted to justify the attack as a tit-for-tat response to Questarian violence.

The Foreign Secretary, Senator Larsen, was previously scheduled to give a short speech to the National Press Convention in Port Easton. One of the most pro-NATO members of the Senior Cabinet, Mr. Larsen nevertheless devoted a substantial amount of his time this morning to the bombing campaign. Here is the section of his speech devoted to the London attack.

Larsen:
"Today throughout Haven war rages. Blood is being spilt and the lives of thousands, military and civilian alike, are being ruined. The war started by Questarian paranoia and ambition threatens to ruin dozens of countries. This is not a just war, but that does not mean that its participants are free to fight with reckless abandon. War is not an invitation to kill without remorse, without concern, without discrimination. The people of Haven are better than that, or at least they should be.

This morning the Allanean war machine brutally bombed and destroyed buildings within the city core of the Questarian capital. This was not for military aims. They were not seeking to decapitate the Questarian government or to decimate its direct war making ability. They were seeking to inflict harm upon the citizens of that nation. The Allanean hordes sought to brutalize the women and children of Questers. The evils of war can never be tamed but they can be tempered by the better angels of our nature. There should only be enough force applied to bring upon defeat any more than that is unnecessary. Indeed, it would be purely putative.

In less than four days the Allaneans have resorted to terror bombing. In less time than it takes to ship a package across a nation, they have consciously made the decision to wound and kill as many people as possible. They care not for the distinction between solider and mother, between officer and student. There is no strategic or tactical reason for Allanean forces to so quickly begin attacks upon civilian population centers. It is, without excuse and without reservations, mass murder. What has happened is a crime against civility and humanity. No government, indeed no people, can tolerate such actions. We call upon our friends and neighbors in NATO to make clear to the Allanean regime that its actions are unnecessary and criminal.

There is a clear distinction between the actions of the majority of NATO and those of the Allanean regime. NATO has been forced into a reactionary position across the region. The United Realms may disagree, in principal, with the decision to pull so many extra-Havenic NATO-aligned forces into the region but that is a topic for another time. NATO's ability to claim moral superiority in this conflict is fatally compromised by the Allaneans. The Questarians may have fired the conflict's first shots, but the regime responsible for the wanton destruction of churches and hospitals will be the villain of this story.

The light of a new future, whether it lead by NATO, the Commonwealth, or by all nations of Haven, cannot come from the fires of London. It cannot radiate from the embers of burnt cities. The foundations of peace cannot be constructed upon the rubble of churches, homes and hospitals. Unapologetic total war only invites a response in kind. Allaneans may not care for Questarian civilians, and they would not be entirely without reason to do so, but for the sake of their own people restraint should be shown. For the welfare and safety of their own people Scandavians, Skyians, Cravians and Oceanians must make it known that atrocities of this scale are wholly unacceptable.

Lines must be drawn between the civilized and the barbarians. Even in war we should never forget the core values of humanity. Once a side ceases to practice the values and virtues that it is fighting for, it it doomed. Neither NATO or the QC can afford to abandon their core values. This war, which has already consumed so many lives, must be about more than mere territorial integrity or abstract notions of the balance of power. If this conflict is reduced to a competition over which side can kill more, tens of millions that otherwise should live will find themselves with no tomorrow. We, the civilized peoples of Haven and the world, must implore the Allanean regime to cease its needless terror bombing campaigns. No one is served by killing infants and toddlers. There is no glory in killing those that cannot defend themselves. There is no benefit to NATO in the continuation, sanctioning or even toleration such a policy. Should such attacks continue NATO will be proving the Questarian case for war. Allanea will legitimize the concerns the Questarian Commonwealth had about the application of NATO power within Haven. In a press conference earlier today, Czar Ferrin announced that the Iron Imperium would be supporting the Stratocratic Confederacy of Questers in the ongoing conflict between Questers and NATO. This news came today as Coheningrad found out of attrocities committed by the Allanean receptacles of male ejaculate, the Allaneans bombed the Questarian capital of London. Normally, during war it seems that the bombing of cities would be common. However, the targeted areas have alerted the Czar and his privy counsel to act differently. The Allaneans specifically targeted children's hospitals and orphanages, killing more than a million children.

The mass murder of children and orphans has disgusted the Czar, calling the Allaneans "dirty, fudgepacking animal fuckers who need to have their lives ended once and for all" sic. The Jaredcohenian Volunteer Army, composed of current and former soldiers who have pledged to defend Questaria against the furry swine, will be dispatched to Questaria to help the Questarian effort. At this time, however, the Czar has not moved to a declaration of war against Allanea. He has said "these valiant soldiers have decided to defend for the wellbeing of civilization, but at this time the Iron Imperium is not in direct danger. Should the homeland of the Imperium be struck, I will ask Parliament to issue a declaration of war."

A total of five hundred thousand Questarians were brutally murdered, including three Royal Princesses, bless their souls, and untold numbers of orphans. This only goes to prove the point that the Allaneans have sold their souls to the Devil in exchange for an shot at victory. However, it can be assured that the blessed forces of the Questarian Commonwealth will destroy these scum, along with all the others who throw their hat against the QC.

Meanwhile, Emerald Emperor Garzahd has been spotted saying, "Only the most dispicable of beings would launch such a brutal attack against such a good people. The Free Empire as such has donated five billion USDs to the restoration fund and is sending over members of the New Vantanian Red Crystal Organization to help. That is all."

Earlier today, reports from Haven and the ongoing NATO-Commonwealth war indicated that Allanean strategic air forces had commenced an operation designed to ruin the Questarian capital city of London. Preliminary reports from the Questarian World Service claim over half a million dead with several million more wounded and/or missing.

The attack on London comes just hours after Commonwealth forces began attacks on NATO civilian centres in southern and western Haven. While far smaller in scale than the Allanean reprisal, the attacks in total represent a deadly escalation of the war as waged upon civilians not directly engaged in the war effort.

This afternoon, KBC journalist Henry Kirkson sat down with Foreign Secretary Gavin Astley for a brief interview.

Henry Kirkson: I should like to thank you for agreeing to this interview, Mr. Secretary, especially so given the pressures a man in your position surely faces.

Gavin Astley: My pleasure, Henry.

Kirkson: The war between NATO and Questers, Mr. Secretary, why is the United Kingdom involved?

Astley: Rather direct, Henry, to start off an interview, no?

Kirkson: When pressed for time, sir.

Astley: Well, the United Kingdom has long been a signatory to the NATO alliance--

Kirkson: With respect, sir, would you call three years a 'long' time. According to official reports, the UK only joined the alliance a few years ago in the aftermath of the Euroslavian civil war at the request of the alliance.

Astley: I would say that three years is a long time in today's fast-paced political landscape, Henry. The fact of the matter remains that three years ago, the United Kingdom was an isolationist, introspective, and I daresay xenophobic nation. Today, our economy continues to successfully integrate into the global economy while our diplomats have the ears of foreign leaders throughout the better part of this world. Our accession into NATO preceded almost all of that, Henry. So yes, it was a 'long' time ago.

Kirkson: But then, in all that time, surely the national interests of the UK have changed. After all, your boss was not the man who signed the treaty. Rather, Lord Salisbury did and the foreign policy agenda of the Marquess, as compared to that of the current Prime Minister seem markedly different.

Astley: Through NATO the United Kingdom has built a strong framework for close bilateral relations with signatories, and by relationship in NATO with several non-signatories but ideologically aligned nations. Over the past three years, indeed, the idyllic and ideological aims of His Majesty's Government have shifted; today, as Foreign Secretary, I aim to create strong bilateral relations with all nations so long as such relations benefit the United Kingdom, be it economically, culturally, politically, or even militarily. NATO, as a mutual defence pact, helps anchor the concern of this government with strong defence relationships.

We have, of course, reviewed the United Kingdom's participation in NATO. I myself conducted a thorough review in the first few months of Prime Minister Ingrahm's administration at his request. The conclusion of that review highlighted that in the broader international community, NATO provided a framework to establish a multinational coalition should it ever be needed to defend the UK or the Empire.

Today, however, while the United Kingdom is not directly threatened by the war unfolding in Haven, continuing our participation in the organisation is all but required. And with Questers and her Commonwealth threatening some of the United Kingdom's closest allies, it provides a structure within which we can work to assist our friends and allies.

Kirkson: Then would it be fair to characterise the situation as thus, Mr. Secretary? That despite changes in the foreign policy goals of the UK in the past three years, continued membership in NATO remains critical? And, given your statement about shifting from an ideological base for foreign policy, how would you characterise attempts by both NATO and the Commonwealth to describe the current conflict as an ideological struggle?

Astley: That is a fair bit to handle, Henry, now are you going to let me answer without interruption?

Kirkson: So long as you answer the questions, sir.

Astley: Well, I think that, broadly speaking, what you described is correct. The United Kingdom is a pluralistic liberal democracy that embraces the notion of international relations with countries of differing political systems. Our closest ally is, without a doubt, Pacitalia, widely regarded as one of the most successful liberal democracies. Yet, we still maintain a good working relationship with nations such as the Borman Empire despite what many see as diametrically opposed systems of governance. Ultimately, it is in the interest of the United Kingdom to deal with both states, regardless of their form of government or economic system. Yet, unlike some foreign governments, this current government chooses not to obscure such truths in thick speeches filled with incantations of ideology.

Now, the current war between NATO and the Commonwealth is not one of ideology, but rather economy, Henry. Quite simply, we have an autocratic state, Questers, waging war upon the Freek government because they are not a true democracy. They wage war upon NATO, an alliance of warmongering undemocratic states, for similar reasons. Quite simply, one need to look no further than the United Kingdom to see that NATO is far more complex than the Commonwealth claims. I look to the trenches where our soldiers are fixing bayonets, Henry, and I fail to see Freeks under dictatorship, but rather Cravanians and Midlonians, both who live under stable democracies.

No, the current war, instigated by the Commonwealth, may I point out, serves only to try and break the current relative strength enjoyed by NATO on the diplomatic and economic levels. The manufacturing-heavy economies of the Commonwealth will surely benefit from large orders of post-war goods, both military and civilian, and as the war directly affects the United Kingdom, a Northfordian conquest of Kahanistan lessens the costs of trade between Commonwealth members in western Haven.

Kirkson: Somewhat well articulated, Mr. Secretary, but you have failed to address attempts by NATO to similarly portray this struggle as a conflict between ideological extremes.

Astley: My apologies, then, I did have a bit to respond to, however.

Kirkson: Indeed.

Astley: Well, NATO here is fighting two fronts of equal importance, Henry. On the one hand, we are attempting to blunt Commonwealth invasions of NATO signatories with land in Haven. With the other, we are fighting a diplomatic battle to show to the numerous neutral nations in Haven that NATO is itself not fighting an offensive war, is not seeking territory, and poses no danger to Haven.

As Foreign Secretary, I continue to have frank discussions with my counterparts and colleagues in NATO about the utility of various diplomatic efforts, and to a more limited extent about the nature and direction of the war effort itself. The bulk of the latter are generally left to the Prime Minister, but the cabinet is kept abreast of many of such developments at our daily briefings.

Kirkson: Are you saying, Mr. Secretary, that the United Kingdom disagrees with the conduct of the war as it has been carried out thus far? Do these disagreements include such operations as the Allanean bombing of London?

Astley: I said nothing of the sort, Henry. The loss of innocent Questarian lives is tragic; though the loss of lives to be expected by the conclusion of this war both civilian and military will be even more tragic. His Majesty's Government cannot, however, condone the targeting of a civilian populace. However, this criticism cuts both ways. Not only are there lines that the Allaneans should not have crossed, but in our own theatre of operations in Northford, the Commonwealth has begun to use chemical and biological weapons against civilians--not to mention the blatant disregard shown by the Northfordian government in launching a cruise missile attack against civilian targets in Millingston.

That said, Henry, heretofore, the United Kingdom has been willing to deal with such matters in a more discreet fashion; however, the actions of our Allanean allies has precipitated a new discourse in this war that ought to be engaged by not just the Commonwealth and neutral parties, but NATO and her allies as well.

Today, in London, there was no 'epic lulz.'
It was a scene of horror as Allanean bombers rained down thousands of bombs and killed hundreds of thousands of innocent men,women, and children.

The outrage in TPF is amazing, and already at the embassy the road is flooded with cards,teddy bears, and flowers. A number of candlelight vigil's are going on this evening, and the churches and mosques are filled with those praying for Questerians in this dark hour.

Already, group have sprung up across TPF, organizing aid packages with food, water, clothing, and other various items to send to Questerian victims. The Holy Reich has condemned the attack calling it "Barbaric and Satanic"

Our thoughts and prayers are with those in London.

It had hit 105 degrees outside, but within the spacious and air-conditioned expanse of Alexandria Steel and Oil's Berenice factory, it was the managers' coffee break time again. While one man gazed through a steel-reinforced window to the massive factory floor below, the other yawned and flipped on a television.

"Another massacre?" he muttered as images of devastation greeted him.

"Yeah, I heard about it. Allaneans this time. What is it with everyone going on civilian murder sprees these days?"

"Who knows. Eh, as long as it's nowhere here right?"

"Well, did you hear about the DFD statement?"

"No... what?"

"They're talking about donating a fuckload of money or medical equipment or something, maybe. I don't really know. I mean, it's the biggest war zone in the world in there, they might just be talking. But the big thing is that they kicked all the Allanean corporations out of the country in protest."

"Oh. Oh. But that means......."

"Yeah, sorry."

"Son of a bitch! I was this close to having enough saved up for a Firebolt!"

"I feel for you, man. My uncle's cousin was gonna buy a Dragon X. What a hell of a time that would have been."

"Man. Fucking Allaneans. The fuck did they have to go do this for! I was literally only a couple thousand away!"

The man's companion shrugged. Apparently there would be no enticing his companion into a conversation about what the government's sinister ulterior motive could be. Shame since he'd gone to the trouble of planting a wire and borrowing a BMPD operative to monitor the conversation. Everything had been all set to haul his boss in for subversion. Now he'd have to find some other way to climb the corporate ladder.

Open Letter to the People and Governments of Haven

There can be no defense, no excuse, nothing can ever be said or done to justify the attack upon London. The Allanean government has committed a crime against everything that defines Haven. Their own fear, cowardice and idiocy has lead them to willfully slaughter hundreds of thousands of innocents. They did not target soldiers. They did not target tanks. They were aiming for hospitals, schools, churches and parks. That gang of thugs and murderers, filled with anger and evil, lurked in the dark night so that they may bring their own brand of fiery death to the good people of London.

No nation can tolerate what the Allanean government has done. I call on NATO to expel that rogue and criminal state from its ranks. Allaneans have shown themselves to be exponentially worse than Questarians could ever be. Indeed, NATO, the QC and all other Havenic states must join together to permanently bring to an end the threat of the Allanean government. When all the murderers are twisting freely in the wind on a length of good rope, then Haven can resume its current disagreement.

Allanea must be stopped.

Citing violation of sentient rights as the motivation for action, the Arch Military Advisor Major Luke Iris launched the Police Action with a 2/3rds majority congressional vote to override the Grand Arbiter veto. He was not though allowed to declare open war; this state of police action has put over 100,000 CFEI troops, soldiers and pilots in and around London as a defense force for the city.

First tonight we'll go live to Tyler Eranc on the FEIS Dreadnaught Osni to get a first person perspective on the war, and later we'll have an interview with the Arch Military advisor himself to talk about the war. But now, to you Tyler"

"We're here on the FEIS Osni, and we're holding just in of cannon range of the city. If you stand here for a few minutes, you're likely to see JAU-64 fighters pass over head, and even drop supply pods onto the city. These 500 pound pods mount an look like bombs, but are painted white with red crosses on them, and easily opened to reveal water, food, and basic medical supplies. It is absolute chaos in the city, bodies of civilians have been piled up like a genocide camp, and fires still rage through the city...Look, look," the reporter said pointing behind the camera.

"Well, several nations have asked us to make a public condemnation against such high numbers of civilian casualties." Tsar Xavier paused the game, just as he was about to bomb London (since France was taken with ease), and glanced inquisitively at the Minister.

"They want us to condemn our two-fold ally for doing what they always do?"

"Pretty much, sir." Xavier sighed.

"And tell me, if we were in Allanea's position, would we do anything different?" Yuri nodded.

"Why, yes, sir." HE smirked. "We wouldn't settle for half." Xavier chuckled.

"Indeed. However, seeing as people might get pissed if we don't say anything, I'll have Kabanov make a statement or something."

"Very well, sir."

Official Response by the Dersconi Empire

The actions taken by Allanea are to be expected. We neither condemn nor condone such an act of destruction, as this is war. This is, in fact, not madness, but a cheap catch-phrase almost designed for the purposes of being an internet meme -- Sparta(n warfare demonstrated by the tactics of the Allaneans).

We will, however, offer aid, upon completion of the NATO/QC war, and offer to help in the reconstruction of Questers, for the sake of the lives of the Questerian people.

Questarian authorities in Haven are reporting massive civilian casualties as a result of an Allanean bombing campaign that specifically targeted hospitals and orphanages. The death toll currently stands at more than 500,000, but the number is expected to skyrocket as more bodies are uncovered.

In Bryn Shander, the response to the Allanean atrocities was outrage. Ten divisions of volunteers have formed overnight, with many more expected in the next few days. The government has declined to intervine directly, but is allowing the use of military aircraft to transport the volunteers to Questers to aid in the fight against the Furry menace. The government has also announced a more than 9000% increase in shipments of aircraft and ammunition to support the Questarian war effort.

"My leige, you do know that your approval of this transaction will undoubtably have serious consequences in the future?" A General said to the King. The King just turned towards the man and stared at him with his grey-blue eyes, as if wearing down the man's own resistance. After a moment, the king spoke with his normal slightly gravely voice.

"Yes, yes General. I understand the consequences of my actions could be grave, but Granate's need for a better military takes precence over that. What's the worse that could happen? Someone finds out, we'll pay a few reparations to NATO, we might even have to do some weird tasks for them, but other then that, nothing will happen." The King said with full confidence. This seemed to lift the General's spirits somewhat.

"Ok Sire, but our you sure that we should be sending him 70,000 Nakils, 1,500 Cardinals, and 1,000 Priests? It seems a bit much and I think NATO might notice some large convoys heading to Questers." He said.

"Increase trade with NATO nations. Send them Corn, Wheat, and other agricultural stuff. It should appease them enough to overlook the trade on the way to Questers." He said. The General was really relieved now. He stopped pacing for the first timein 10 minutes. He bowed to the king as he left to get the stuff ready to be sent to Questers and to cover up much of the transportation as possible. If NATO found out, it would be death of Granate most likely.

Another party, another wasted night, always the same...

His family had long since warned him about the path he had set in life, he knew as well as they did that he had a name to uphold, but he cared little about it. He lived his life like it was supposed to be lived, fast planes, hot women and fine drinks. The natural talent he had in flight gave him independence from the family and the means of sustaining this way of life.

In a way he knew ever since he met her that things were going to change. An illicit affair at a ball he was forced to attend, 'To keep family image and all that'. He had no idea who she was when they first talked, but for some reason she managed to charm his heart and he was scared. For all his bravado and daredevil acts on the dogfighting circuit and in various beds, Iulius Belisarius was scared by love. Scared that he might lose her, scared that status and nationality will stand between them.

It was only on this night that he made his decision. As much as he loathed the act, his family was the only way he could get close to her. This was the last party he was going to attend with his team mates after a victory in the skies.

"Hey you!" a female pilot nudged him gently,"You're not really into it, are you? Are you allright?"

"Eh? Don't worry, I'm fine," he replied and leaned forward for a glass of alcohol.

"If you say so," the woman said as she turned towards another individual.

It was just then that one of the crewmen turned on the TV and started flicking between channels. He focused his eyes on the telly trying to pretend he was absorbed in whatever was on when an image caught his eye.London in flames

"Stop!" he yelled at the man with the remote, "Switch it back, NOW!"

At his sudden outburst the party stopped and everyone started looking at him. Fortunately for him, the man switched the channels and he could now hear what it was all about.

"...last night, the Allanean airforce launched a massive attack against the city of London, the capital of the Questarian Commonwealth. Sources from Questarian officials report that over five hundred thousand civilians lost their lives and among them three members of the royal family that refused evacuation. Royal Princesses Mary..."

The voice of the news reporter was covered by the sound of a shattering glass. As the people in the room turned towards the source of the noise they were presented with a sight to remember. Iulius was frozen in place, the shattered remains of his glass at his legs and loss in his eyes.

What happened afterwards was a blur for Iulius. It took him days to properly recover from the news. In the meantime he found out more and he was horrified. Hospitals and orphans, people who had no defence bore the brunt of the attack. This did little to alleviate his anger and to influence his next decision. He would go to London.

It wasn't as if there was a belief that he could do anything important by himself, but he wanted to help, he wanted to pay the Allaneans back, for her!

This is why he was currently in the dining room of his brother's family, eating with the older man, perhaps for the last time.

"You're going, no?" his brother asked in a casual tone, betraying no emotion.

"Yes" he answered in the same manner, making it clear that he had no intention of changing his mind.

"Be careful," the older Belisarius told him in what almost sounded as a worried voice. He would later find out that his brother did more for him than he would have suspected at the time.

Telling his goodbyes to his team mates was another matter entirely as Jeane, a fiery redhead that was his wingman, made it very clear.

"We're coming with you," she told him and with her the entire team.

He tried to make them change their minds, but he was met with no success. In fact it seemed to only make matters worse.

Mechanics, pilots and support personnel from various teams joined him, some following an idol and a hero, others lead by personal belief and soon even retired army pilots announced their support.

What he planned to be a quick departure for one pilot turned into an entire organization. With funds coming in from unknown sources, and Jeane showing a lot of aptitude at organizing them, the Ski Knights were born.

Numbering thousands in both pilots and support personnel they left the country, they left for Questers, they left for war.

The Chechen government is completely taken aback by the barbaric actions of the Allaneans. The people that at one point in its history, the Chechen government has called 'allies'. The Questarian government has Chechnya's full support in its war for survival and the Chechen government hereby officially condemns the inhumane actions of the Allanean government and demands a halt to all attacks against civilians. Due to widely apparent Allanean overuse of force around the world in recent times it has been deemed that they are not a stable partner for the better of future security. For this reason Chechnya sides with Questeria in this conflict and catastrophe. (Let it be known that the Chechen government is also bound by the terms of the GDI of which both it and Qesteria are members)

In response to wanton wholesale destruction of innocent human life on part of the United States of Allanea, the Republic of Chechnya has, acting immediately, placed an embargo on all goods Allanean imported or exported. If the Allanean government does not repay the Questerian government for civilian damages and apologize for its actions the significant Allanean corporate market in Chechnya cease to exist. All Allanean based corporations in Chechnya will have the option of shutting down all operations, selling their land and infrastructure to the Chechen government, and returning to their land of origin, OR, have their assets in Chechnya frozen and their property seized. The Republic of Chechnya will not tolerate any who seek to purposefully kill innocent human life and as such takes a hard stance against those who do.

The ruling government and royal family of Questeria have the support of the Chechen government and its president, Ramzan Urmev. Had Chechnya not have been in a state of war with the Kraven Corporation it would do more to aid. It would appear that our two nation's have more than little in common. We are both fighting wars of survival and refuse the very prospect of surrender.

As a long standing friend and firm supporter of the Questarian Commonwealth, Stevid fully condemns the actions of the enemy state and fully condemns the actions of NATO. The Holy Empire has been following the conflict closely and has vowed not to intervenne unless the Empire is threatened. But we stand by our friends and fully support them in their struggles.

The Government of Kahanistan is in a state of peace with Allanea, and they have turned on us, massacring the Presidential Palace in an act of betrayal of the highest order.

We therefore join our Groznian allies (despite their support of the Questarian Commonwealth which has attacked without provocation) in condemning the barbaric actions of the Allanean military against civilian population centres.

The Allaneans have, during their cowardly act of treason, removed the man responsible for the Kahanistanian terror bombings of Northfordian and Kriegos cities. We can only hope he is subjected to dolphinisation for his acts of barbarity on a par with the Allaneans themselves.
