Dartian Military Activates Select Military Reserve UnitsWorld News Network Exclusive Report

New Rome, Dartia (WNN) - Following a lengthy closed session of congress, the Dartian government has activated dozens of naval and air force reserve units. Altogether, more than 120,000 reservists have been called to duty.

Engineers, mechanics, and logistics units compose most of the activated units. However, the Dartian government has hinted that combat units may soon be called up as well.

At this point, the reason behind these reserve activations is unknown. Most government officials seem reluctant to comment at this time. However, one source within the defense ministry did make the following statement:

"I can confirm that 124,000 men and women have been called to duty. This is in response to a credible threat against our nation. I expect the president will explain these actions to the nation at his next press conference."

It is important to note that this is the first time in Dartian history that reserve units have been activated for reasons other than natural disaster.

More news to follow as details become available.

Dartian Citizens Panic As Additional Reserve Units ActivatedWorld News Network Exclusive Report

New Rome, Dartia (WNN) - Today, the Dartian government announced the activation of an additional 112 reserve units totaling 312,000 men and women. Furthermore, President Allesandro Valerio has declared a national state of emergency.

Lawmakers continue to remain mum regarding the specifics of the threat against the nation. During her daily press conference, Press Secretary Barbara Benedetto made the following statement:

"The president and congress believe there is a credible threat against our country. I wish I could say more, but the president believes it is best for us to ready our defenses before we engage in any finger pointing."

While there is plenty of speculation, little reliable information is available. We do know the Dartian government seems to be bracing itself for a major conflict as evidenced by the erection of fortifications near coastal cities and what appears to be the recommissioning of a large number of retired warships.

At this point, Dartian citizens seem to trust their government knows what they are doing, but there are signs of panic nevertheless. While the streets of Dartian cities are somewhat quieter than usual, police have reported a large number of "incidents" at grocery stores and gas stations as citizens attempt to stock up on essential supplies.
