Your Nation's National Drink?
Nueve Italia
01-08-2007, 04:49
Agua Buono, one of Nueve Italia's biggest Beverage Production and Distribution companies, has sent out a survey across the global community, asking what participants think is the national drink of their nation. They have also asked official government stances on the matter as well, in order to diversify their products to appeal to a wider audience.
For Nueve Italia, the national drink has been determined to be horchata: a rice-based drink that is flavored with cane sugar and cinnamon. It is typically served hot, however it can be chilled or even thickened into a porridge-type dessert.
So, to the Global Community: What is your nation's National Beverage?

British Londinium

Earl Grey tea is the drink that is associated with most Londinians, and, on occasion, Vernaccia rum, from north British Londinium.
Non-alcoholic: Coffee is the most popular beverage. Sbiten, a traditional honey drink is also popular during the winter months.
Alcoholic: Depends on the region. South and Western Vetalia are wine-drinking regions, while vodka and other grain spirits are popular in the central Vetalian grain belt. The North tends to be the heartland of the country's beer industry as a result of cultural influences from more Germanic regions.
Pepsi. Everybody drinks and loves the stuff.

The people of Urcea drink many types of alcohol, and there is no prevalent type.
Duly noted, but as there is no "preferred" type, "N/A" (Not Available) will remain on the list until when or if a preferred drink arises. It's not saying you don't serve alcohol in your nation, as that's been listed as Prohibited
the Cazelian drink of choice is Ca'tanar, an ancient tea like drink made from wine, sugar and rasberry juice

Being largely Japanese in descent, Otagians are generally pretty big on tea, having carried over the Japanese tea ceremony to their own national identity.
In the way of alcoholic beverages, Saki is rather large. However, as most of Otagia's environment is ill suited to growing rice, the American portion of the population introduced port to the masses, and it caught on reasonably well.

Brutland and Norden
01-08-2007, 13:04
As for the United Kingdom of Brutland and Norden, we have two distinctly peculiar drinks:
Alcoholic: licuoro vaca (cow liquor) - essentially the fermented urine of our national animal, the Brute cow (Bos bruta). Brute cow urine is collected, strained, boiled, filtered, Pasteurized, and then aged in casks like wine. Different regions produce different kinds and flavors of this unique liquor.
Non-alcoholic: dragonfruit juice - produced usually in the subtropical northern parts of Norden, it is a rare prized drink.

Bottled Water.
Non-Alchoholic: Tea, Maté, and related beverages. These drinks have a strong importance in our society. Kiravians have seeped herbs in hot water for centuries, developing hundreds of varieties unique to our nation and Empire.
Alchoholic: Absinthe. The green spirit of artists, scholars, and the social elité of early 20th century Europe. Yes there are some potentially deadly side effects of substandardly-prepared absinthe, thus, the Imperial Government controls the producion and shipping of all absinthe in Kirav and it's colonies.

White grape vodka, 38%. Following that, white wine, regular vodka, flavoured vodka, Caucasian beer and, lastly, brandy.
Of course, there are many other types of alcoholic beverages, but those are the main ones.
Our nation should have given a description of the Tequila sunset:
A Tequila, mixed with succulent Tangerines, a rare fruit in our nation, and complimented by a slice of lime.

Alcoholic: Old Fashioned (a cocktail with ice, whiskey, bitter, syrup, and a touch of seltzer, preferably garnished with cocktail mushrooms)
Steel and Fire
01-08-2007, 23:55
The favourite beverage of Steelians is unquestionably coffee, specifically a type known as "Southland coffee" (grown in Steel and Fire's South American colonies), which is usually prepared without milk or cream. It is practically all they drink. In terms of alcoholic beverages, there is such a wide variety that no one can be pinpointed as a favourite.
Non-alcoholic: Traditionally, the drink favored by the nomadic tribes residing in what is now Altanar was iskaniya, which is yak's milk with yak's blood mixed into it. Outside of some isolated areas, or traditional ceremonies, however, most Altanari don't drink the stuff anymore. Nowadays, most Altanari favor sodas (cola being the big winner, by far), or tea (green or black). Coffee is also widely popular.
Alcoholic: Altanari are big wine drinkers, and there's a decent-sized winery industry present in the country. Beer and ale are also great favorites. It's not uncommon for Altanari to have a little bit of wine or beer with any meal or snack, even breakfast.
The Candrian Empire
02-08-2007, 01:32
Typical Candrian non-alcoholic drinks include sodas (colas being the most popular), coffees, lemonades, and apple or orange juices, with fruit juices gaining in popularity amongst a health-conscious populace.
Alcoholic drinks are dominated by whiskeys, with Tennessee-style whiskeys being most predominant, with Scotch and Bourbon also bearing high in the list. Rum is also quite popular, although more in mixes or cooking than anything else. Tequila is also noted as a popular drink. It should be noted that the Candrian preference is to harder drinks; drinks like americanized beers are considered 'children's drinks' and do not find themselves in many bars, the exeptions being lagers and Summer Ales. Despite the preferences of Candrians, alcoholism is not a pervasive issue in Candiria.
Novikovians traditionally have drunk a fermented rye drink called Źiytnotuša (lit. the spirit of rye). Źiytnotuša has been distilled in north-centeral Novikov since the introduction of rye in the mid 3rd century, around the time early slavs are thought to have migrated to the island. In the 20th century, however, Novikov's agricultural produce became much more divers, and with it the variety of beverages produced with an indeginous flare. Since the 1950's, Novikov has become widely known as a producer of an apple brandy, Koniak z Jabwky, which has taken a hold on some Anglo markets where it is falsely marketed as a form of Cogniac. Non-alcoholic beverages have a far lest distinctive flare, with most being simple ciders and teas, eclipsed as of late by modern colas produced in the UKO.
