North Korean-Amazonian Border

Sentry Station 26B was quiet this morning as the rising sun of the East climbed the Korean hills that formed the DMZ between fanatical North Korea and cold, calculating Amazonia. The two nations had been at odds for a while...and as an Imperial regime rose to higher and higher heights in the Dominion, there needed to be a solution for the pesky Northern gnats. Bugs as such were generally squashed beneath one's sole...and the Dominion Emperor, not one for much emotion or diplomacy, felt like doing exactly that to the fools to the North. Extermination was such a pretty word, especially when applied with force.

The North-South border was one of the most heavily guarded places in the Dominion, just after the double capitals themselves. K2 Black Panther tanks prowled about night and day, M110 Howitzers on the alert. T-80 tanks, non-native designed models, patrolled the border horizontally as infantry armed with the KNR OICW stood alert at sentry stations. On the other side were hundreds of older-model North Korean tanks...but against the tech-savvy Dominion, it was a question of how they would defend.

In Amazonia, no big message or alert was going to go out to the world. Instead, short communications were being sent to alert both the NIR and Animarnia on what was coming. And coming it was-the North Koreans would be in for it.

At the border, without warning, E-767 planes circling began distributing target information on North Korean posts across the border and armor and infantry clusters. M110 artillery and M270 MLRS launchers, stationed at the border full time, gave the North Koreans no warning. Over the past 2 weeks, subtly, defenses were being erected for armor and infantry when the North Koreans naturally came storming across the border with their inferior weapons. They would be met with deadly force.

Booming in the early morning sun, the Artillery pieces, rocket launchers, towed howitzers, and infantry mortars cried out to the sound of ten thousand shells and rockets shooting towards North Korean sites all across the border. Back at airbases far enough behind the border to avoid artillery retaliation, Tu-22M Backfire bombers were prepping for runs, thousands of pounds of ordinance being readied. AH-64 Apaches and F-15K Slam Eagles were prepared...the first shots were on. It was time for the other side to play it's hand in response.

July 1st 2007
The Command room was dark as the president; the Cabinet; the Chiefs and several Generals sat around a table; behind them was the map of North Korea with 3 distinct blue arrows pointing from Animarnia into North Korea. At three points; several smaller Red Arrows branched off these and other Green Arrows came from the west Korean/Yellow Sea. While more black Arrows came from inside Animarnia to various other North Korean Cities in the north. More arrows in Grey were marked too this coming form The Northern Imperial Republic and from The Dominion in the East and South respectively.

"General; I believe its time we outline the plan" President Shondel said simply; when the dominion had come to them with this proposal she had been very apprehensive however the Dominion had promised Animarnia something that would make this war worth it - Taiwan.

"Yes Ma'am" General Carville began; "the 2nd Army will start to push into PyonGato-Bukto Region; while simultaneously the 3rd and 4th Armies will push into Changang-do Region and the Yanggang-Do Region Respectively supported by the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th National Guard. Meanwhile the Dominion and The Northern Imperial Republic will push from the south and east respectively will full force smashing North Korea between 3 sides" the General spoke.

"While the ground advance is happening Rocket and Gun Artillery will shell every military structure, Air defence system and fixed Artillery position and base along our border for 30 miles in land in the first hour of the war essentially eliminating any resistance. While we conduct Air Sorties including heavy bombing with Fuel Air Explosives from land based air bases and the Constellation Carrier Group in the Yellow Sea the 1st and 2nd Marine Detachment will make a push in the west coast of North Korea"

"Initial projections indicate the war will be over in weeks; I've already set us to DEFCON 4, and risen the Terror alert level to Severe and the strategic deterrent level to a state of increased readiness " The General said with a nod. There would be no announcement to the world; no ultimatum it would start and end with no words from Animarnia.

5:30AM AST 13th October; Across Animarnia/Korea Border
After Weeks of careful military build up the night was finally here; the crisp morning air would soon be filled with the stench of gunpowder and smoke would billow out across the battlefield. The General In charge of the operation Ely Misawa stood in the command bunker watching events unfold with a look of almost Glee; the Amazonians had already begun there attack; and now it was time for Animarnia to keep its part of the deal. "Begin operations" she said with an almost sickening grin.

The Other Generals all gave the green light to their various units and within moments over twenty five thousand MLRS Rockets were launched in various sizes ranging from 122-320mm packed with HE every conceivable military structure within 18 miles of the Animarnian border was targeted with multiple missiles. Targets ranged from Troop concentrations to armoured columns; to Guard towers to airfields; from Artillery positions to Surface to air missile sites entire bases would be laid waste to; this was what the Kamperians called "Steel Rain". As soon as the MLRS had exhausted their missiles they began the slow process of reloading. Thus the Gun Artillery began to fire with thundering booms Artillery from the Army and National Guard started to rain down over 11,000 rounds a minute at any targets not hit by the MLRS hitting up to from 2-37 miles away with rounds ranging from 122mm to 155mm. Anything military was the subject of this rain of death.

From Airbases along the border Flounders; Fan-Tans; Dragons and Thunders took off fully loaded for Air to Groundwork escorted by Airguards and Apollo Superiority fighters. H-6 Heavy Bombers also took off towards there targets laded with a mix of conventional and Fuel Air Ordinance to be dropped on Sonch'on, Kunsong, Kop'ung and Musan which was to be completely firebombed ahead of the main ground advanced which would start in a few hours.

Animarnia Fleet Carrier Constellation
"Ma'am We've received the order to go"

"Good; Begin Flight Ops Mr Kelly" Kara Pentaguast ordered as soon as she had issued the order aircraft started to line up for the take off and begin there missions. Over 60 F/A-17 Thunder Dragons took off towards there targets loaded with a mix of Air to Air and Air to Ground Weaponry. They were to hit P'yongwon, Chungsea, Chonguji on the West Coast mean. Mean while ships in the battle group capable of launching Guided Missiles let them fly towards there targets; once again military structures would be hit first; with special targeting for Surface to air missiles sites, Gun Anti Air systems, Artillery and Airbase Runways. They would share Satellite Data in exchange for AWACS Data with the Amazonians.

"If I were Kim-Jong-Il Mr Kelly; right now I'd be shitting myself", she said with a nod.

Republic of Droskianishk, Drosk

The President was disturbed by the images he saw on the screen. Animarnia and Amazonian Beasts had attacked North Korea with no warning and no apparent reason. This was the issue that would make the Droskianishk elections interesting. This would be the issue that would get the next president elected. President Mark Shedar only hoped that it would be his opinion that would get him elected.

Later that day..

"My fellow Droskians, today North Korea has been made the target of imperialism by the two fellow Asian nations of Animarnia and Amazonian Beasts. I have not yet been contacted by either nation as to their intentions. But as of today I have ordered the National Army of Droskianishk, to be on full alert and to deploy 100,000 fresh soldiers to the Droskian-Animarnian border in order to ensure our safety. With current economic meetings going on between our two nations we hope that Animarnia would have at least contacted us, this is a serious breach in trust and cooperation. I will not stand for war, so until hostilities are ended or until Animarnia makes a gesture of friendship towards Droskianishk, the current economic talks are to be put on hiatis." after making this statement the cameras stopped shooting and the president sat down to take a breath... campaign season had begun.

Kim Jong-Il's palace, P'yongyang, North Korea

A loud banging on his door forced Kim Jong-Il out of a very peaceful sleep. Not that anything peaceful was going on now, that banging was only getting louder. Grunting, he pulled his silk sheets up higher over his head and rolled over, his hand clutching his stuffed animal even closer to his body.

The banging persisted, however, and finally the dictator of North Korea, defier of the world at large, wearer of silk pajamas, and owner of Mr. Snuffles turned over and looked at the door, reaching over and putting on his blocky square glasses. "Enter," he called out.

Quickly, the door burst open and five of his top military advisers burst into the room. Kim gave them all an annoyed glance. They had interrupted his necessary eight hours of beauty sleep a night. You didn't get to be this high up on the "Asses the World Most Wants to Kick" list without looking this good. "Spit it out, gentlemen."

"Sir, we are under attack." The military aide nearest to him spoke, his breath still labored.

"What? Are the Kampferians spreading their propaganda again about how our planes barely fly? Or is the Amazonians again saying that I'm a homosexual and sleep with dolls?" He moved his right hand to pull his silk sheets up farther, making sure that his gay porn magazine and Mr. Snuffles, his sheep-shaped stuffed animal, were both completely covered.

"No, sir. We are under attack." The next man spoke, also breathing heavily. "Amazonian artillery has started striking across the DMZ, and Animarnian forces have attacked the Hamgyong-Bukto province." Jong-Il was sitting up in an instant, his black silk pajamas shimmering softly in the moonlight. He scratched his stomach contentedly.

"Damage report?" He asked calmly.

"The First, Fifth, Second, and Fourth Army Corps have all taken damage to the south near the DMZ, sir. The Second was heaviest hit, sir. About one-fourth of it is now either dead or wounded."

"And to the north?"

"The Animarnians hit us much, much harder, sir. Most everything within thirty miles of the border that was military in nature is now just a smoldering crater. About half of the Sixth is dead." Kim cursed before standing.

"Are there any other attacks incoming?"

"Yes, sir. Long range radar indicates that a number of Animarnian bombers have launched and are heading in the direction of the cities of Sonch'on, Kunsong, Kop'ung and Musan. Most of our military around those cities has been destroyed."

"Do we have any MANPADs operational in the area?"

"Very, very few, sir."

"Very well. Tell them to prepare for contacts coming in from the north. Get on the horn to the 8th Air Division at Orang and tell them that I want them in the air as soon as possible to deal with those bombers and any fighter cover. I want half of the 2nd Air Combat Command out of Toksan to reinforce them, as well as the 10th Mechanized Corps along with half of the Seventh Army Corps." One of the advisers left the room to give the orders as the other men nodded before speaking again.

"We also have reports of numerous ground-to-ground missiles incoming at P'yongyang itself, sir, as well as over fifty planes inbound."

"Move our Yellow Sea fleet out of the area to make sure they are no fired upon, and move half of them towards Seoul. I want our missile boats firing at their earliest convenience, both at Seoul and at the Animarnian fleet. As for the missiles, have our AA guns target them, and have the SAMs and MANPADs target the incoming fighters. Get the 1st Air Combat Command in the air and ready to take on those fighters."

"Yes sir." Another aide left to give the orders around P'yongyang. "And what about the southern boarder, sir?"

"The DMZ? Have our artillery open up on them. We'll show them that they aren't the only ones who can launch an artillery strike against another nation. And get the MiG-17s and Hong H-5 bombers ready. I want the MiGs skimming the trees to distract and attract heading for Seoul, while the bombers follow them."

"Roger, sir. Shall we put Operation Omega into effect?"

"By all means, General, do so. I'll be here, packing my pajamas." The generals saluted and walked out of the room. Time to get packing, Kim thought.

All Across the Northern Edge of the DMZ

As the orders came in, artillery batteries lit up the sky. More than 500 M-1991 and M-1985 long-range rocket artillery batteries opened up, spewing out 4,400 rockets a minute at Seoul. They continued firing until their 22 rocket battery was exhausted, and then the firing stopped for reloading. These 240mm rockets lit up the sky as they streaked towards Seoul.

Other rocket and conventional artillery of anywhere from 200mm to 120mm also opened fire along the DMZ, aimed at Amazonian military bases, troop concentrations, and civilian areas.

One hundred seven MiG-17 "Frescoes" took off from their landing areas in Hwangju. They immediately skimmed the treetops and took off towards Seoul as well. Two planes lifted off but soon fell back to earth, falling victim to the mechanical failings the western world had said North Korean equipment had, but that Jong-Il's government had dismissed as "propaganda". Some twenty Hong H-5 bombers also joined them, flying some distance behind and significantly higher, also heading towards Seoul.

Hamgyong-Bukto province

Colonel Ban Ke-Man shook his head as he picked himself up off the ground. The missiles and artillery had caught them completely off-guard. Now, most of his men were merely smoking craters. Nearly nothing was left of his command. He groaned and spit onto the ground, watching his blood soak the crater his body had made when the blast had flung him to the side. Cursing loudly, he reached for reached for the radio of the man lying next to him.

"Under attack... all dead... SAMs destroyed..." Ke-Man collapsed, never seeing the first bombers flash overhead.

Over seventy MiG-21 Fishbeds took off from their base in Orang and started racing towards the oncoming fighters and bombers. Armed with AA-7 APEX and AA-2 ATOLL missiles, they waited for positive locks on long range radar. As soon as they got positive long range locks, the MiG-21s fired their AA-7 APEX missiles. One hundred forty four APEX missiles streaked out at the incoming bombers and fighters, the AA-2 ATOLL missiles being saved for close in air-to-air combat.

OOC: Exact defenses for P'yongyang to come later... I think that gives us a pretty good start though, no?

DMZ

Kim Jong Il's opposite to the South was anything but cute. The current Amazonian Emperor hated resistance of any kind-not that he shied away from it, but that he was probaly going to recieve flak from the international community about "this outrage" or "that inhumane attack." The thing was, Droma didn't care about how many civilians he killed-those on the other side were bound to forced labor or practice for his military squads as it was anyway, and unlike previous nations in the past that had been overwhelmed by such, the Amazonian Dominion was quite good at it. However, also looking to the past, he was not above recieving assistance from enemies just looking to turn traitor, however...

The aerial incursion was all Droma needed. Airbases on the other side of the DMZ had been waiting for the Northerners to make a move, and now here it was. Highly outdated bombers were trying to move across...and Enterprise was waiting with a light defense group off the coast, Kitty Hawk closer to the archipelago of the Dominion, so further away. The Dominion's navy was one of the most numerous in the world, however, loaded especially with light combat ships and submarines. However, the latest two carriers-especially the big E-had plenty of servicable items as well. Particularly, the "outdated" F-14s would be a nice asset as the slower H-6 bombers tried to move towards the largest city on the continent for the Dominion...and AIM-54 Phoenix missiles had a habit of traveling around 3000 knots per hour.

However, the Tomcats weren't the craft that had been readying for the past few hours; the ground craft had been. Swarming out from nearby airbases, Amazonian Mitsubishi F-2s-really just Fighting Falcons with improved avionics-shot towards the skies. AMRAAM and AAM-3 AAW missiles glinted off the wingtip and underwing rails of the F-2s, as behind them, massive Tu-160 bombers and F-15C Eagle fighters fueled up for further engagements. The F-2 was the Dominion's most numerous fighter after the older F-1, and they blasted into the air in a pack, the E-767 AWACS craft providing constant updates as a full wing-72 aircraft-took to the sky. By far, they were used by the majority on the continent-the navy handled the archipelago with effectiveness. 24 split off after the bombers-the prioritized threat, according to AWACS updates and 747 command craft-while the remainng 48 shot off towards the slower Mig-17s.

Across the DMZ, the artillery came as it was recieved. The Amazonians had one of the better borders in the world, a fortified mix of earth, concrete, steel, and composite armor. The rocket artillery was nothing particularly special, and DMZ SAM launchers came active to engage the rockets that were clearly avoiding the DMZ. SAMs spat out like fiery hornets, shooting fast towards the long-range rockets, boosted by high-speed interceptor-designed thrusters. Roughly 960 SAMs shot off at the rockets to intercept, others reserved for later strikes. Others began targeting the fighters blasting across the border-the bombers were too high-shooting off another 120 SAMs.

As the artillery began striking, damage was minor to moderate across the border. Several sentry posts recieved direct hits-shells blasting in and either blowing apart earth and concrete to amazing light shows to the crews, or spewing the crews's guts across the grounds when they actually managed to punch through the armor, as was the case when multiple hits were recorded. Armor and infantry damage was light-the Northerners seemed to be targeting border civilian areas, several towns being struck. To the Dominion, they were simply dying for their country-something that was secondary.

Airbases were far enough back not to get struck-and the F-2s raced inbound towards the H-6 bombers and the Mig-17s. At the bombers, the two squads of F-2s launched two medium-range AMRAAMs apiece, 48 of the advanced missiles striking towards the slower, older bombers and picking up speed fast. The F-2s angled in-the bombers had a long way to go to reach anything critical-and continued to hold their locks, moving in to engage with AAM-3s.

At the Mig-17s, the density of missiles from the four-squad formation was much hotter and heavier. Each launched three AMRAAMs, 144 missiles slamming towards the outdated Russian fighters not truly tested since the Vietnam war against good fighters. The F-2s engaged jamming capabilities, hoping to throw off missile locks-some of the most advanced electronics in the world coming on across the fighter lines.

Meanwhile, the Tu-160 bombers began coming online, 12 of the long-range, supersonic bombers absolutely loaded full of ordinance, each being escorted by three of the F-15Cs. The Big E was prepping Tomcats to begin CAP, and at the border, things were getting spicy. Seeing the Northern reaction, and with minimal losses to the older equipment, the best of the Dominion-M109 Artillery pieces, M270 rocket artillery, and other pieces-threw up over 14,000 shells and 11,000 rockets in the next barrage all across the DMZ, targeting rather than civilian areas and bases, known areas of last engagement themselves, data provided by AWACS craft. Time to take out the source, and possibly goad the Northerners into rushing the border-the Dominion hope.

Kuram itself (Seoul) had a veritable beastly load of air-defense systems, and as the long-range rockets that had survived came pluming in, a torrent of weaponry came shooting out. Several thousand interceptor missiles zipped out of Kuram, shooting past Mach 3 as they screamed in to attack the long-range rockets. Air Artillery guns came online, searching low for how the rockets would come in. As soon as they would come in range-the vector was pretty obvious-flak was going to come up in bunches.

Hamgyong-Bukto province Air battle

Over In Hamgyong-Bukto province Air Group Beta was in flight and heading to target; Air group Beta consisted of some 50 J-8 Apollo and 75 J-7 Airguards were in the air escorting the Bombers and Multi Role Fighters In Delta V Formation. With the Cluster of 30 H-6 Bombers in the centre of the group flanked by 75 Q-5 Fantan Ground Attack Fighters.

These were then wedged between a wall of Dragon and Thunder Fighters armed for a mix of Air to Ground and Air to Air Weaponry. Namely the P-12 "Thunderbolt" Medium Range Air to Air Missile and YJ-83 Air Launched Cruise Missiles for Air to ground attack; while the Superiority fighters in a Phalanx Shield Formation were armed purely with Air to Air P-12's and P-5 Short Range Air to Air Missiles. This was only one of Four Air attack groups currently heading into North Korea and the only one so far to be challenged.

"This is flight leader to all Birds; Incoming Missiles Break, Break" the Female Squadron leader spoke into the microphone and in mere seconds the sky was awash with Chaff and Flares as fighters broke formation from the Bombers and the Fantans zipping around the sky like gnat. North Korean Missiles flew about all over the place hitting Flares and Chaff; 3 Airguards were unfortunate enough to be struck there pilots ejecting in the nick of time but there aircraft totalled; The Animarnian Reply was swift.

"Positive Lock, I have tone; here's a gift from me; in fact he's lost of gifts because I'm such a nice girl" she said over open mic as she pulled the trigger and multiple P-12 missiles flew from there hard points towards the North Korea Air group. There Reply consisted of 175 P-12 Air to Air Missiles or nearly 3 Per enemy fighter.

Yellow Sea

The Group of 60 F/A-17 Thunder Dragons were in Phalanx Formation flying towards there targets on the West Coast there was no doubt that Kim would mistake them heading for Pyongyang but this was not going to be the case. Instead they were going to hit the coastal navel bases from nearly 100 miles out CS-801 Sardine Sea Skimming Anti-shipping Air Launched Cruise missile was fired with each of the Thunders firing two missiles each. This brought the number of missiles up to 120 Missiles on route against the Yellow Sea Fleet and the NK Missile Boats in Harbour and on patrol. These were in addition to the C-802 ASM Cruise missiles launched from the Constellations Battle group towards North Koreas Yellow Sea Fleet. Submarines beneath the Waves including nearly 20 Romeo Class; 17 Ming Class and 12 Song Class Submarines began activating firing solutions Leaving the Han; Shang and Yun Class Submarines behind to Guard the Battle group. As soon as a firing solution was acquired 61 Torpedoes were launched towards harboured ships, Coastal structures and the Yellow Sea Fleet.

North Korea/Animarnia Border
"Ma'am Initial projections report 93% of all North Korean Hardware was neutralised in the initial Artillery strike" an officer reported; he was slim and dressed in powder blue shirt. The young mans voice coming between the distant sound of gun fire as Animarnian Artillery continued to rain down over 11,000 Shells a minute on the North Korean heads.

"Begin Operation Sledge Hammer" she said with a nod. And with that Animarnia Artillery fire slowed to only the Towed Guns firing suppression rounds while the self-propelled Howitzers would move to forward positions to fire further into the border. With them heading into PyonGato-Bukto, Changang-do and Yanggang-Do Regions

Then splitting off into there respective areas of Sakchu, Ch'angsong, Taegwan,. Sinuiju, Yongamp'o, C'tasong, Manp'o, Kanggye, Wiwon, Ch'osan. Yup'Yong, Hyesan, Sinp'a and Yongjo. This force consisted of over 1,800 Tanks of varying types from the older D1's to the newer Type 96 and Type 99's. Nearly 800 IFV's, over 700 APC's, over 200 Self-Propelled Howitzers and over 1,400 Mobile Surface to Air Missile Launchers. Theses were supported by 168 WZ-10 Attack Helicopters and Nearly 300 Helix helicopters. In short 91,000 Regular Army and 50,000 National Guard were all spilling over the border and rapidly advancing as soon as the Howitzers had secured the lines the Towed and Rocket Artillery would soon follow to create a wall of death in front of the attacking force.

OOC: Animarnia, just to let you know, the submarine portion of the Yellow Sea Fleet moved south towards Seoul with the missile boats. I'm sorry if that wasn't made clear. Many of the other ships are still where you said they were, and will fall victim to your subs, to be sure.

Message Broadcast in the Clear, to the World at Large

Members of the world at large, please, listen to me;

Our nation is under attack by the vile Amazonians and Animarnians. They have bombed us without provocation or warning, and have sent bombers to target our civilian population centers. Even as this message is sent out, three of our northern cities lay in ruins, and I fear the same fate will befall more should action not be taken.

Our brave defenders shall fight to their last breath, but even our superior numbers cannot holdout against superior technology. We are asking for assistance of any kind, military, material, monetary, or transport. Even if you do not approve of my government, please, help my people. Talk with the aggressors to set up areas where my civilians may be transported away from the bloodshed.

I ask that you please respond post-haste.

Sincerely;
Kim Jong-Il
Mr. Snuffles

Message Broadcast in all Civilian Population Centers

Civilians! Listen!

We have been attacked by the evil Amazonians and Animarnians. Cities to the north lay in shambles from their vicious and unprovoked assaults. We ask that all civilians evacuate the cities immediately and move east. Hopefully this will help spare most of you.

If any civilians wish to stay and fight, we ask that you report to the nearest military bases as soon as possible for armament and a quick training course.

We shall prevail!

OOC: Military post to come soon.

Things were certainly not going well for the North Koreans. The three pronged attack had caught them completely off-guard and even the heavily-fortified DMZ was starting to take damage. Further north, the damage was tremendous, as that area had not even been fortified as well. The pilots of the MiG-21s tried their best to dodge the incoming missiles from the Animarnian aircraft, but to little avail. Fifty eight of the seventy two planes plunged down to the earth in flames or exploded brilliantly in mid-air. The fourteen that had survived raced in as fast as they could, targeting the bombers with their AA-2 ATOLL missiles, twenty eight in all, and firing before opening up with their cannons on the fighters. The pilots knew it was a suicide mission, but they would fight to the death to protect their homeland. Farther behind the planes, twelve SA-5 GAMMON SAM batteries flared to life and started firing as well, each battery launching four missiles at the incoming bombers, for a total of forty-eight missiles in all.

On the ground, the northern troops started receiving orders to fall back into the P'yongan-Namdo province, where the troops would make their final stands around the capital. The entirety of the 8th Army Corps, along with the 425th Mechanized Corps and what remained of the 6th Army Corps started pulling back. Engineers mined main roads sporadicly as the forces retreated, not having much time to do a full-fledged mining. The 7th Army Corps was diverted from their advance north and started heading west, along with the 10th Mechanized Corps. The 2nd Air Combat Command, consisting of 50 MiG-21s, 100 MiG-19s, and 45 MiG-23s covered the retreat from the eastern province.

Along the sea, things were not looking much better. Ever single Yellow Sea fleet ship that had been harbored at Namp'o was destroyed or damaged badly enough that it would not sail again. The twenty four Romeo-class submarines had luckily been out of port, sailing towards the Amazonian battle group. They, along with fifteen Soju-class missile boats would have to do against the Enterprise battle group. Their plan was simple. The Soju missile boats raced towards the Enterprise (their main target) at flank speed, trying to draw attention away from the submarines that were moving in at "silent" speed. The goal was to sink the Enterprise, along with her planes, and cause economic and morale damage to the Amazonians.

Namp'o was a disaster, however. All the ships docked there, which numbered over seventy in all, were either sunk or not able to sail again. The dock itself was in flames from numerous torpedo hits. Anti-ship batteries were destroyed, along with some shore gun emplacements.

The North Koreans could only hope that the minefield outside the harbor would take out a few Animarnian ships before they landed.

To the south, the rocket artillery fired off another round of 4,400 missiles at Seoul before the incoming strike from the Amazonians got there. Once the strike got there, however, the results were disastrous. Of the 500+ M-1991s and M-1985s that had been firing, less than one hundred remained after the strike. Still, the crews reloaded for another round of firing.

Of the missiles that had already been launched, just under 200 were taken out by the SAM missiles. The other 4,200 continued to streak towards Kuram. The flak batteries put up a decent amount of interference, and another six hundred went down, some from impacting flak, other being knocked out by the explosions. 3,600 missiles still streaked towards Kuram, descending.

The Hong H-5 bombers, built in the 1950s, never really had a chance against the missiles. Of the twenty sent to bomb Kuram, only two survived the opening missile onslaught. Those final two dove to pick up speed, splitting and climbing and diving to avoid flak and AA fire coming from Kuram. One pilot managed to drop his entire load of six 1,000 lb bombs and one 500 lb bomb before pulling up and then diving straight down in a suicide mission. The other pilot released his first two 1,000 lb bombs before an AA burst hit his bomb bay, exploding him in a brilliant flash.

The MiG-17s fared better, but only slightly. Seventy eight of the one hundred seven MiGs crashed to the ground in flames as the others rose to meet their attackers. Each of the twenty nine remaining MiG-17s launched two AA-2 ATOLL missiles at their attackers, and then opened up with cannons.

Near the DMZ, the troops were getting desperate. It was time for that push, that invasion that would decide the course of this war, at least in the southern section of the country. Across the line, calls went up and troops prepared to rush across the DMZ and take on the Amazonian threat head on. The 1st Army Corps, consisting of 80,000 men from the 2nd, 13th, 31st, and 46th Infantry Divisions, as well as 300 M-1978s and 200 M-1989s (self propelled artillery, 170mm) would charge across the most eastern edge of the DMZ. The 5th Army Corps, consisting of another 80,000 men from the 5th, 12th, 25th, and 45th Infantry Divisions would charge as well, backed by the 9th Mechanized Corps, consisting of six Mechanized Infantry Brigades (30,000 men). The 2nd Army Corps, which had taken the heaviest losses, would be charging with 50,000 men, from the 3rd, 6th, and 8th Infantry Divisions. The 4th Army Corps would be advancing on the western-most side, closest to Kuram, with 80,000 men from the 26th, 28th, 33rd, and 41st Infantry Divisions. They would be backed by both the 815th Mechanized Corps and the 820th Armored Corps. The 815th consisted of six mechanized infantry brigades totaling 30,000 men, and the 820th Armored consisted of three armored brigades, the 15th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, which totaled 5,000 men, and one armored division. Total armor for the 820th was 1,200 tanks total, 400 T-62s and 800 T-54s.

The total force streaming in at the Amazonian positions: 355,000 men (65,000 mechanized), 1,200 tanks, and 400 self-propelled pieces of artillery.

A massive wave of armor and flesh poured at the Amazonians, firing as it went.

Casualties: Everything listed in this post plus eight SA-5 SAM batteries, approximately 20,000 men.

Hamgyong-Bukto province Air battle
The Fantans though fully laden currently were small agile aircraft able to easily dodge the incoming missiles as the sky was once again awash with Chaff and Flair's with North Korean Missiles flying everywhere. As the J-7 Airguards scrambled to lay down covering fire targeting North Korean fighters with the closer Range P-5 missiles which was akin to the Kampferian AIM-9 Side Winder and owed much of its design to that particular type of missile. The H-6's however were slow and lumbersom beasts and it showed. Even with the improvised and somewhat impressive 'Phalanx shield' flying of the escort group six of the H-6's went up in flames and brilliant explosions and a further two crashed to earth.

The Thunder and Dragons Paired up with Fantans in smaller groups and began to target ground installations particular SAM sights working in a "Hunter killer" system; the J-10 Thunder and J-17 Dragons having the more powerful Radar system so they were hunting while the Fantans would be the 'killer' part of the combo. Other Fantans broke off to attack retreating columns of Armour. With the Fantan being Animarnia's equivalent of then Kampferian A-10 this was a task it was suited to with freighting efficiency. As Air to Ground Anti-armour missiles and General Purpose Air to Surface Missiles and long range Air launched Cruise Missiles were fired at various military targets the H-6's began to hit Radar installations with 250lb-500lb laser guided bombs.

Civilian infalstructure was deliberately not targeted by the attacks to avoid as much collateral damage as possible and to give Kim the least amount of propaganda

Yellow Sea
With there attacks complete for now the F/A-17's returned to the Constellation for re-arming; it would take 30 minutes for the CAP to land; re-arm and be back in the air with more presents for Mr Kim. The Constie was wedged between Destroyers and Frigates of its battle group with submarines beneath the sea in truth she was only around 80% battle ready. But as Animarnia's Pride and Joy and the current Brightstar of the Royal Navy it was certainly required she participate in this action this was also why she had so much protection. Mean while Ocean Going Minesweepers began there somewhat unenviable task of clearing the road for the Anthibious assault that was sure to come from the Animarnian Royal Marine Corp itching to get into the fight from the west with Marines already boarding LST's, AAV's and Helix Helicopters ready for the assault.

Animarnia/NK Border
The Advance was preceding smoothly and so far they had encountered little if no resistance for the North Korea Military though Satellite data said that the North Korean army was retreating towards the capital for a likely last stand. Animarnia excelled at Siege warfare. Granted hastily laid mines were certainly slowing down the Animarnia war machine but not too much with 1200 EZ 2050 Utility Vehicles almost a direct copy of the Kampferian Hummer racing ahead of the main advance but still within its protective shield meant that mines could be disarmed quickly and the main force could proceed with little if any stoppage and with each stop the artillery would wind up and shall ahead to clear the road of any resistance.

With the Advanced going as planned so far; and the Self Propelled Artillery now in place to rain down 1,200 Rounds a minute on North Korean Positions and Sam batteries. The towed artillery silenced and began the process of moving forwards with the main lines the various MLRS Rocket Artillery already on its way to join the main force.

"Ma'am the North Korea army is retreating" the same young officer reported

"Good; Green Light the Aid Trucks to start" she said with a nod as he walked off to give the orders for the aid trucks and aircraft to start coming in from the Northern border towards the cities the army would reach only soon before. . As it was important the North Korean people knew this war however apparently brutal was a good thing for them.

Animarnia Press Office
The President stood behind the podium as she had done many times before the regal blue curtain behind her mounted with the Seal of the Kingdom and Animarnia Flags were at her flanks. The various newspapers and television reporters were gathered in the crowed for her speech.

"No Doubt most of you have heard the rumours and the message from our Southern Neighbour and its 'leader' Kim-Jong-Il about attacks by Animarnia Armed forces on the North Korean state. I will confirm that at 5am this morning Animarnia defence forces began an attack on the North Korean armed forces on an unprecedented scale" Rene began; her hair coming down to just above her shoulders; the absolutely picture of loveliness even when talking about blood and death.

"However Reports that we have turned cities to rubble and deliberately targeted civilians are completely untrue; Animarnia has specifically gone out of its way to target the North Korean Military infalstructure only with the least amount of force required to accomplish a specific task. As we speak our defence forces fight the oppressive regime of Kim-Jong-Il and as you can see from this declassified satellite footage" Rene said gesturing to the 52" Plasma Screen that showed the North Korean cities allegedly destroyed perfectly intact except for some minor damage.

"Whatever Kim tells you is a complete Lie; when Kim talks of us raining down death upon North Korea look around and ask yourself if what you see fall is a bad thing? Are we blowing up schools; hospitals and parks or Radar installations, SAM sites and airbases", she said simply. "That said however Any North Korean Soldier that surrenders will be treated humanely under the rules of war; given a hot meal and a warm bed. We urge the North Korean Soldiers to surrender their arms" Rene added; "and from this moment I am putting a $40 Million Dollar reward out for the capture of Kim-Jong-Il - Alive" she said simply. Emphasising the last word though in all honesty dead was just a good.

"To Quote Alexia DeLèan 'I have nothing to offer but Blood, Toil, Tears and Sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most Grievous kind, We have before Many, Many Long Months of Struggle and suffering. You Ask, what is our policy? I can say it is to wage war by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that god can give us. To wage war against a monstrous tyranny never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer that in one word: - it is victory. Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be for without victory there is no survival'. Kim-Jong-Il Will Fall because; no dictator or tyrant can hold a population down by form of arms forever; because there is no greater human need than the need for freedom and against that power no army can stand. It is time we taught this lesson, Take note Mr Kim, Class is in session" Rene finished.

Casulaties: 8 H-6 Bombers

Kuram

The defenses had been stiff, but they hadn't worked up to Amazonian expectation-which was fairly close to perfection. As a result, the rockets plowed into the North face of sparkling Kuram, smashing apart civilian structures, blowing cars into the air, toppling several larger towers, and shooting civilian bodies meters into the air. The Dominion had not told civilians to evacuate the border-and as a result they had paid with civilian casulties. Not like the government cared much anyways, and the civilians did live good lifestyles with enough freedoms...they were dying for their country. Kuram still looked pretty good, albeit the flaming North side, before the two H-5 bombers remaining came in right over the city.

The bombs falling smashed amongst the more populous sectors, fire and shrapenl cutting across roads and downing power lines, along with blowing out building exteriors and shattering cars like toys. The shrapnel of the blown H-5 scattered like fatal rain across the downtown as the other H-5 plummeted towards Chinatown, rampaging through a Tori gate, and smashing right into a fish market. Fire spewed out as burning fish sprayed across the street.

Air

The F-2s were nimble little craft, taking design elements from the successful Fighting Falcons. They pitched and spun away from the incoming Atolls, dodging and weaving as they tried to home locks with the AAM-3 short-range Sidewinder successors. Some Atolls, for being ancient missiles from ancient aircraft, did find hits. Two smashed into the same F-2, the first tearing out part of the rear fuselage, the second delivering a killing blow that shattered the craft in mid-air. The pilot didn't have enough time to eject.

A few others found targets, with a few downing 4 aircraft-3 pilots ejecting. 2 other Atolls found home, but the missiles weren't enough to knock off the F-2s in wild manuevers. Those of the 48-fighter formation that hadn't been hit-the electronic jamming pods had worked nice against the old missiles-were immediately on the chase, 35 AAM-3s spraying out to intercept the inbound Mig-17s. The craft rolled about, forming into pairs, and expanded out to let the Mig-17s that had survived the latest AAM barrage pass between them, 23mm gun fire spraying into the gap as the F-2s spread a hole.

The Tu-160s, however, seemed to have absolutely no offenders as they flew at 41,600 feet. Some of the F-15Cs were breaking off to harrass the ground forces, as each carried two AGM-65 Maverick missiles along with their AAW payload. The Blackjacks had a pretty basic mission-blow up whatever North Korean bases were on the Southern Perimeter. They paired up, six flights of two each now, each with three F-15Cs as guard, the other 18 Eagles off to hit the ground forces. The bombers picked up targets, then began empyting their payload-each loaded with four cruise missiles for the military strike.

The Hyunmoo IIIB medium-range cruise missiles streaked out of the payload bays of the Blackjacks, dropping several hundred feet before igniting boosters and blasting towards the ground in sharp arcs. They would streak just over the ground before smashing into their targets, computer-guided. The bombers continued on, now forming into groups of 3-four flights total now. Here they split up, preparing on to next targets-four North Korean cities. They were somewhat evacuated by now, but the Dominion did not want to later get bogged down by urban insurgencies.

The targets were clear-four Southern cities, Pyonggang, Kaesong, Kosong, and Ichon. They weren't the most important cities, but it was also a part shock-setter. The bombers continued on, their Eagle escorts holding in tight.

Ocean

The missile boats had been easy to spot-and the typical Dominion action was launched: blow the hell outta the enemy. Two 5000t destroyers were hanging around with the Big E, some of the newest destroyers to hit the global block, and stronger than the Arleigh Burkes. Targeting the missile boats was as easy as counting to ten on one's fingers-both with gun and missile. Harpoons streaked out of launchers towards the boats, ten flying from the two 5000ts alone. The guns of the 5000ts roared open, 5" shells flying at the missile boats as their coarses were plotted and trajectorized.

2 Kongo and 1 Atago destroyer roared out with another 12 Harpoons striking towards the missile boats, as gun fire raged from the destroyers. Besides those 5 destroyers, 2 Sejong-the-Great-class DDGs, a Hatakaze-class DDG, and 2 Shirane-class DDHs were engaging the enemy now with gun fire and missiles popping up. The Dominion had made sure to pack a nice fleet, at first hoping to be able to strike coastal defenses with unbearable fire, but now proving useful in eradicating naval resistance. The Enterprise had already begun veering south at maximum speed to get away from potential combat, despite being quite capable to withstand multiple hits-it was a solid vessel. However, as solid as it was, the Romeos, even at "silent speed", were old diesel models-and anything but quiet to the 3 2900t SSNs that led the Sub pack under the battle fleet.

One Chang-Bo-Go class sub near the surface had relayed info about several successful pings to the Enterprise, which had relayed on to the fleet. 3 Murasame light destroyers moved in to attack. They were almost worthless at long-distance fighting with other surface combatants, but were nicely armed with gun and torpedo. The subs all closed around the location of successful pings, as Seahawk helos started lifting off from both Enterprised, fleeing with several frigate guards, and the engaging destroyers and PCFGs.

As the 9 Chamsuri-class Coastal Patrol Boats that had tagged up with the fleet began assaulting the missile boats with cannon fire despite them being little more than river boats and brown water ships, sonobuoys began dropping all over the water from the Seahawks now in the air. The fleet had 8 submarines with them-the 3 advanced 2900ts, four Chang Bo-Go older subs (though still newer than the Romeos), and 2 Harushio-class SSNs. They began laying distractor countermeasures for possible torpedoes to come, and sonar was pinging about all over the place. It became somewhat hard for both the Murasame surface destroyers and the subs to lock on, but apparently the helos were getting somewhere. Three helos alone were around the fleeing carrier...and if the Northerners had intended to drive off the Enterprise, they were doing a damn fine job with the five frigates around for escort.

One of the Hatakazes had VIDed one of the Romeos, and two ASROCs screamed from A/S launchers, the rocket-boosted torpedoes flying overhead before dumping the torps in the water. The hunter-killer subs were getting aggressive, active sonar out to spot the Romeos. The sonar pings would make them fairly obvious, but the Romeos by firing would give away their position instantly to the overhanging helos and the deadly powerful 2900ts, not to mention the light destroyers hanging around. Several contacts were being made anyway as the subs and helos spread out, Mark 48 torps flashing out from torpedo bays into the water from multiple sources.

DMZ

The Dominion commanders smiled as the rush came on-it was exactly as they wanted. Now, coming up from behind the defense works burrowe out were the Amazonian tank lines-T-80s in the first line followed up by a second line of the formidable K2 Black Panthers and K1A1s, followed by the final line of Type 90s. It was spread out all across the border so that the lines were fairly spread out in regard to each, but there were plenty of tanks for the heavily-defended line. M270 launchers were finishing reloading and now had loads of targets to choose from, while BMP-3 APCs, KFV armored fighting vehicles, and K-200 IFVs formed up, just waiting to pop into some of the rushing forces. Infantry dug into the constructed defenses. Multiple shots from the onrushing forces found home, but casulties were minimal, especially to the strong armor line-it would take more than one tank shot from what were essentially improved T-62s to knock out a K2, the latest tanks on the nearby block. If the K1s were the near equivalent to the Abrams, the K2s were monsters.

The artillery was the first to crack, however. As Apaches began flying in for aerial attack, the Eagles coming in from the North after 18 had moved off from covering the Blackjacks and outdated F-5E Tiger IIs equipped for strike duty moving in from Southern bases, FH-70 towed howitzers ripped open a withering salvo of lead, shells flying at the line of troops. With that, the barrage was on.

M110 SPHs ripped open with their heavy artillery cannons, K9 howitzers joining in as M270 MLRS systems across the line threw thousands of rockets into the air, arcing towards the advancing lines. The three tank lines ripped open, armor-piercing shells flying towards the line of enemy combatants. BMP-3 M1195 units opened up with Kornet ATGMs angling towards armored vehicles as K-200 IFVs ripped open with MG fire. There were certainly less Amazonians than Northerners around the line, but they were putting up far more firepower in quick time.

As the armor continued pouring in fire, the infantry ripped open. Minimi machine gun fire spread out in fields of fire to encompass every space that was being charged, millions of bullets across the DMZ blazing out. AT-4 rockets mingled in with bullets from the Minimis and Type 64 battle rifles used as snipers, angling towards armored units and artillery.

As the ground forces fired, AH-64 Apache attack helos began mounting over hilly rises along the DMZ, quickly spitting out Hellfire AGMs at the oncoming rush. F-5E Tiger IIs spit over the hilltops, AGM-65B Maverick missiles flying at the opposition. They screamed overhead, afterburners flaring momentarily as CBU-49 Cluster bombs fell out over the infantry and artillery, the Tigers spinning around for another go.

Seas East of North Korea

The Imperial Naval Landing Contingent sailed West, moving in on their targeted beaches on the Communist Coastline. Naval Infantry prepared to land on their beaches near Hungnam where they were to take the port city and set up a permanent base for the eventual move in on the rest North Korea. Meanwhile, more sinister tasks were at work further West...

About 5 nm outside of Hungnam, North Korea

The fleet of Il-76MD's flew over the waters of the coast towards the Communist-held port city, the Shock Troops inside the jump bays readying themselves for battle. The Shock Troops wore no insignias showing affiliation to the NIR to keep their dirty tactics somewhat untraceable. Clad in black Kevlar-Ceramic Body Armor with Full-Face Ballistic Masks and Trench Coats, they were a well-trained and equipped fighting force lacking any emotion whatsoever.

Ahead of the Drop Planes, Su-35's and Su-39's flew in on the town and began the Alpha Strike, their missiles and bombs landing on the main factories inside the city, including a large fertilizer plant which went up in a massive flameball.

"All soldiers! Prepare for jump! Crackled the Comm over the noise of the wind. The Shock Troops stood up and headed for the doors, and as soon as the light flicked green, jumped out into the wind and engaged their chutes. The 2,000 Paratroopers on the 20 transports soared out into the wind and began their gracefull float to the surface where they would proceed to break out all hell. The NIR was in this now, and they were planning on making quite a show.

The RS Cobalt was not exactly ship meant for slipping through the calm dark waters of a moonless nights, it, instead had been built to ram through ice and deliver thousands of tons of steel to far distant ports. Still it was making an attempt at slipping, it’s running lights mere pinpoints of light against what they had seen of warships, and freighters flitting about through the night. It was a fourteen thousand ton freighter of the Opplant Group, which had been running cargo for the Opplant’s in the Orient for two decades.

“Nearing North Korean Exclusion Zone.” A vast majority of the crew were on deck scanning the horizon witch was not so much a battleground from this distance but a shifting pillar of illuminated smoke. Occasionally an artillery strike would fall and the huge tower of smoke would blow one was or another, and add another burst of flame to the intricate pattern.

“…Right get Captain Halley and his men up here in riot gear and prepare to raise the cargo. Get out of here fast God knows what Kim I’ll do to us if he sees us.” There was a ripple of laughter and a discreet crossing of legs, the Dominion weren’t the only one to hear stories. Every moment they advanced the sounds of battle became more apparent, booming out across the water it was amazing in the night and the crew were snapping picture after fuzzy picture.

“Sir,” Captain Halley stepped out in his green uniform clutching a fiberglass shield and wrestling with his shotgun to notch into the slot provided on the shield, “unloading soon?”

“Yes fairly soon about fifty miles left to go should be there within the hour.” The ship’s captain revolved on the spot to face his old friend who had served with him for those two decades. “Provided we aren’t torpedoed, would you look at that.” He pointed out to the Korean peninsula and they both shared that same terrible feeling of what they may accomplish tonight.

“Sir we should begin transmitting the message we are at the Exclusion Zone.” A crewman shouted from inside the well lit cabin.

“Right, begin transmission and continue approach at flank speed.”

‘This is the neutral ship RS Cobalt of Opplant Shipping, on a rescue and relief mission from the Waldenburger Republic, we carry supplies, nearly ten thousand tons of food and medicine, we mean Korea no harm and wish only to help it’s people. Any noncombatant willing to leave the country will be allowed out on our ships. We have been invited as a neutral by Kim Jong Ill to evacuate the noncombatants, we are unarmed.’ The message continued to repeat transponding on all frequencies as the Cobalt pushed forward the fall of fire, which now appeared around the DMZ was growing ever more impressive.

8 Hours Later, Namp’o North Korea

“Damn they are hard working little devils,” a crew member lounged on the forward deck eating a bag of crisps and watching the Koreans scuttle around the cargo containers as they eagerly hauled the food away. It Seemed the Cobalt was the only ship still docked in Namp’o, and was being attended by nearly the entire staff of the harbor.

“Captain were ready to start taking the refugees aboard, how many are coming aboard?”

“No more then a thousand if there are that many. Oh, and Dvevi those with money come aboard first, and those with slightly more money get first pick of blankets, and those who are willing and have even more could get some privacy.”

“Yes sir, gold silver too?”

“I leave that up to you, but probably yes to gold and you judge the rest.” Lady Opplant was actually a quite kind women he had to keep remind himself on which your life depends he couldn’t help but keep from his thoughts. All up and down the coast, in time, this would happen the supplies unloaded, bribes taken, the refuges shipped to their destinations.

Encrypted Diplomatic Message From: Lady Margaret Opplant
To: His Excellency Kim Jong Ill

We are most distressed by this plight faced by North Korea, that it should be attacked by it’s neighbors for no more reason then more expansion. We are doing all we can on the front of aide but I fear it is limited, and our ships are not able to keep up with everything Korea will need to last much longer. Before I end I would like to offer you one last piece of help for it seems I am the last person who cares about justice, for a price of ten million USD we will smuggle yourself and a number of your staff out of the country, back to Walddenburg where we shall see what we can do for returning you to power. For another fifty million we can smuggle items of perhaps shall we say an explosive nature to a port of Animarnia, perhaps there will be more honor in running away then in staying to fight in some circumstances. Should you accept any of our offers wire the correct amount to the bank number included and we shall see what we can do about this situation.

OOC: Oh, you shouldn'ta said you were here on a relief mission! We paranoid imperialists want the Northerners to suffer!

IC:

"Relief" was not a word under standard protocol by the Amazonians, and as the ship plowed right past the Amazonian naval flotilla currently mopping up the Northern navy, the commanders were infuriated. Some country half way across the world was attempting to scuttle out North Korean civilians-and they had only claimed that they were bringing in medicine and bringing out civilians. It would be time to test the meddle of the craft-time to show them who was truly in control of the Eastern sphere. It was a large enough vessel to be easily spotted, and it would only take one or two Harpoons to throw it to the bottom...the Hornets could be scrambled at any time and loaded with ASuW weaponry.

The transmission was short but concise to the meddlers...

"Western scum, get your filthy hands out of our affairs before we blow your ship up," came the call from the mainland. E-767 AWACS craft, mostly spotting targets and aircraft for the Dominion, were also tracking the vessel. "For all we know, you're off-loading war material to the enemy. Even if you are offloading medicinal supplies and food, you should have cleared that with pre-inspection before making your run. You will leave-immediately-or we will open fire on your vessel. You have 10 minutes to reply and leave or we will fire-AWACS craft are tracking your location. You will also be inspected as you leave the area, otherwise interceptor aircraft will not hesitate to shoot you down. Are we directly clear? If not, then you will leave immediately anyway. Do not meddle in our affairs."

Kim Jong-Il's Palace, P'yongyang

Kim Jong-Il was busy packing his collection of silk pajamas. He really didn't have any idea where they would be going, but he wanted to be prepared to travel at the earliest notice. Two full drawers into two suitcases clear, two more drawers and one more suitcase to go. Decisions, decisions. He would have to leave some of his pajamas behind. And maybe some of his dark glasses collection. But which ones... he tapped his chin thoughtfully.

A military adviser bursting in broke him from his thoughtful reprieve. "Sir, we've received an encrypted message."

"What is it, General? Those damn Amazonians wanting us to surrender?"

"No, sir. It's from Waldenburg, sir. They... they want to help."

"Excuse me?"

"Yes, sir. They have been offloading supplies at Namp'o. They have offered to take civilians out for us."

"Damned shame all our civilians are heading in the other direction."

"True, sir. But another offer intrigues us even more."

"And that is, General?"

"They are offering to smuggle you and a nuclear weapon out of the country... for a hefty fee of $60 million."

"$60 million, General? Hefty? Tell me, just what are you expecting to have $60 million to spend on after all of this is done. Our nation as we know it is dead, General. There will be nothing left here after all the powers that be are done with it except for rubble, dead bodies, and plate glass." Kim sighed and looked back at his drawers, closing his eyes for a moment. "I will message Waldenburg and tell them that we accept unconditionally and that the money will be in their account within the hour. As for me, I have one final speech to make. Leave me." The General nodded and left the room. Sighing again, Kim Jong-Il walked into a secret, sealed side room. From here he would make his final stand.

Unnoticed by all sat a small stuffed sheep, sitting awkwardly on the bed. Mr. Snuffles.

Encrypted Return Message to the RS Cobalt

To: LMO
From: Kim Jong-Il

M'lady;

I thank you for your generous offer concerning my people with this dastardly and unprovoked attack on our nation. The $60 million has been wired to the account that you specified. Unfortunately, I will not be joining you for this final mission. My top generals will, however, along with our second of two nuclear bombs that we have constructed. I ask you to deliver this to the largest Dominion coastal city and detonate it there.

No matter what happens with the outcome of this war, please, I beg of you, carry this out as the last wish of a condemned and dying man.

I must remain here, with my people and soldiers for this final battle. Again, I thank you for your assistance in this ambush and ask that you pull as many of my civilians out before the end comes. Please also have all your people avoid P'yongyang at all costs.

Signed,
Kim Jong-Il

After typing the message, Kim straighted his jet black pajamas and looked at a camera preset in the room, ready to address the world for the second to last time.

Message Broadcast to the World at Large

There was static for a moment and then the image of Kim Jong-Il, looking far more tired than usual, appears on screens everywhere.

"Greetings, citizens of the world. This may be the last time most of you will ever see me. For that reason, most of you will say good riddance. I can understand that sentiment and do not begrudge you for that. When placed in the lens that I am, I can understand why most of the world hates me."

"However, I must ask all, as a person, not a member of an individual nation, does a man not deserve justice? Does a man not deserve a trial before his peers? This mindless and vicious assault has not just been aimed at me, but how many North Koreans will die before this war is over? How many innocent old men, women, and children will die at the hands of the aggressors? Even one is too many, ladies and gentlemen."

"I have ordered all civilians evacuated from all major cities, and have urged them to travel east as quickly as possible, to avoid as much of the bloodshed as possible. In those areas, my forces have retreated to reduce the chance of civilians being mistaken for combatants. I ask all nations to send any available aid to the Eastern coast of North Korea, to further facilitate my people."

"Further, to those nations attacking, stop trying to sugarcoat this issue. Everyone can see that this is nothing but a thinly disguised desire for revenge. If you want me, I am in the Palace in P'yongyang. Come and get me. I will even meet with leaders here to discuss my and my troops surrender for their safe passage."

"Should logic prevail and leaders of the attacking nations meet with me, we can avoid more needless bloodshed on all sides of this conflict, military and civilian."

"Kim Jong-Il, signing off."

The camera fades to black, Kim's image replaced by that of the North Korean flag.

Sighing, Kim leaned back in his chair, stroking a small red button in his pocket. Hopefully the world leaders would come. Hopefully they would come... and then, then he could blow them all to hell.

Eastern shore of North Korea, NIR target city

There was no military presence in the city that the NIR had targeted. All forces had been pulled back to mount a final defense of the capital, or sent to reinforce the charging troops to the south. The few civilians that were in the town immediately started screaming and running for cover, for all the good that it would do them. Many were vaporized as bombs struck near them, even more as the fertilizer plant went up in flames.

An old man, a veteran of the first Korean war, pulled out an old Soviet-make pistol and aimed it at the black clad figures in the street. Leaning heavily on his walking stick, he fired off an entire clip at the figures, his hand shaking too much to really worry about hitting much of anything but air. As he reached into his pocket for another slightly rusted clip, he lost his balance and fell to the ground as the troops approached.

In other areas of the city, North Korean police officers tried to mount something resembling a resistance. They fired from buildings, from behind burned out cars, from behind anything they could. They could tell it would be to no avail, but they needed to try to protect their homeland.

Somewhere, over the city's radio station, Mozart's "Requiem" could be heard playing.

Civilians trekking towards the coast could see the flames from the hit fertilizer plant miles away. They started screaming in terror, moving in other directions, still trying to head towards the coast, but not sure if they would be safe anywhere anymore.

Air over the Western DMZ

Of the twenty nine MiG-17s that had survived the first volley of missiles, only four had survived the next barrage. With their older equipment and too little training, the pilots could not hope to survive against their Dominion counterparts, but they would try. Their missile supply exhausted, the pilots of the remaining MiG-17s rose and tried to keep pace with the Dominion aircraft as they opened up with their close-range cannons.

Farther back, the last sixty H-5 bombers rose from the ground, forty heading towards the Enterprise, the other twenty heading for Kuram.

Ocean around the Enterprise

All of the ship captains knew that this mission had been a suicide one, but they were all loyal to Kim and all knew that they had to at least try. As the surface missile boats were targeted first, many of the captains started firing off their missiles as fast as they would cycle, trying to empty their launchers before the assault hit.

Unfortunately for some, the missiles would simply not fire fast enough. Seven of the ships blew up with most of their compliment still on board, explosions rocking the waves and even causing damage to their own forces. A Romeo submarine that had been traveling too close to one was cracked open like a coconut by the force of the blast, the crew of the vessel dead before they could cry out an alarm.

Other missiles from the ships flew out in the general direction of the Enterprise and her battle group, some missiles sputtering and dying before they reached, others crashing into the ocean as their respective ships were destroyed. Still, a small number streaked on through the night, hoping to catch a lucky strike.

Below the surface, the Romeo class submarines, now twenty three in number, were not faring much better. The sonar buoys had located nearly all of them, and their captains, knowing death was exceptionally close, started firing their compliments of torpedoes blind as well. None of the ships had full compliments of torpedoes, the most heavily armed only have six of the possible fourteen. Still a large number of torpedoes zipped through the water in the Enterprise's general direction, though their chances of actually hitting would be akin to an archer firing blindly at a football field and hitting a dime. Still, they had to try.

All along the DMZ

The charging mass of flesh and armor moved ever closer to the Dominion lines. Troops ran screaming into volleys of gunfire and blasts from tanks, but they dared not stop. If they stopped, they would suffer the same fate as those who had been felled by Dominion weapons: being run over by the soldiers, APCs, and tanks behind them. No, they dared not stop. Better to be shot by the enemy than being run over by your own tank.

The troops ran over and around the embankments created by the Dominion soldiers, firing now as they drew closer. They soon engaged the troops in brutal hand to hand combat, bayonets and rifle butts flying all around as the troops revered to their most basic primal instincts to survive. The troops tried with all their might to push the Dominion troops back, fighting and clawing their way for every inch, for every foot, for every yard.

The assault by the North Korean forces was heaviest in the west. The entire concentration of the North Korean tank assault was centered there, 1,200 tanks total, along with 115,000 men. Their assault pressed onward, even though their tanks were not as advanced as the Dominion tanks, but the ferocity of the attack was unparalleled by the other sections along the line. Burning hulks of tanks and APCs littered the path behind them, but the troops continued onward, pressing their attack as much as they could, the tanks firing off their rounds as fast as they could reload.

Casualties: Everything mentioned, plus ~80,000 men and ~300 tanks in the suicide charge.

The Shock Troops, now on the ground, faced little resistance and quickly moved to take care of it. Enter Delta Squad, Varyag Company, 1st Shock Troop Regiment.

The Liutenant hit the ground on the street with a thud. His fellow squad members landed around him in the square and quickly unlatched the chutes and drew their OC-14 and Saiga-12 Service Weapons. The streets were already gray and dark from the overcast, the light bing made even worse by the bombing smoke and debris. Small fires were all over from the first attack with the largest source of light being the burning fertilizer plant. It was quiet for a moment, and then the first defender responded. Bullets whizzed wildy around the squad, pinging off road signs and walls.

"Hit the floor!" shouted the Liutenant as he dove behind a burning car. He looked up to see a large group of civvies doing something in a square and an old man trying to reload a rusty old pistol. "Down him!" ordered the Liutenant. A soldier raised his Assault Rifle and shot the man in the groin as he fell from his cane, downing him effectively.

The squad moved up to the trembling man surrounded him. "What should we do with him?" asked a Sergeant.

"We will make a show." said the Liutenant, grabbing the old man by inside his mouth on his upper jaw and dragging him over to the square where the dozen or so pedestrians stood.

"Don't move!" shouted a Gefreiter at the frightened civilians who were backed up against a brick wall.

The Liutenant smiled. This was his chance for showmanship. "You maggots disgust me!" he screamed at them in Russian. They couldn't understand him but it didn't matter. "Resist as you may, but you inferior people will not prevail. This man here tried to be a hero." The Liutenant threw the wounded old man down on the street and kicked him in the bullet wound. "Well this is what happens to heroes." He shoved the man into the curb and slammed his boot down on his head, dispatching the old vet permanently. A person in the croud whimpered in shock. The Liutenant raised his OC-14 and shot the guy, not looking back. "Heroes and resistors will NOT be tolerated! Try to be one and you will end up like these people!"

His monologue was broken by a series of SMG fire from down the street. Inside a bus, som policemen were setting their sites on Delta Squad. The soldiers dove behind cover and returned fire.

"Gefrieter!" yelled the Liutenant. "Hit the bastards with the Bumblebee!" By bumblebee he meant the RPO-Z Rocket Propelled Flamethrower.

"Da, Liutenant!" he responded as he raised the launcher and set hs sights on the bus and fired. The rocket dropped out of the tube, then shot forward, corkscrewing through the air and screaming through a bus window. It detonated, spraying Incindiary Fluid all over the inside and ignited it, ending the policemen for good.

Similar events occured through out the city, with the Shock Troops commiting attrocities that were unspeakable to anyone with emotion.

Beach

The Naval Infantry Compliment of two Brigades landed on the beachhead, rushing up and moving in on the road. Civvies were everywhere, sreaming and running around like chickns with their heads cut off.

"What the hell is going on?" asked a soldier to his comrade.

"Beats the hell outta me," the other one responded. "Let's move into the town."

The Two Brigades began their objectives, rushing up the beach towards the town that the Shock Troops landed at two hours before.

Air

The cannon fire ripped up and past the F-2s, the Mitsubishi aircraft zipping around the Mig-17s and letting the older fighters pass between. A few lucky shots slashed into an F-2, catching the 4th-generation fighter on the wing and sending it into a death spiral to the ground, the Dominion pilot ejecting in a plume of smoke. The F-2s banked around, afterburners hot as they maxed out their horizontal acceleration to keep up a favorable speed advantage on the Migs.

Several AAM-3s spat from wingtip rails as bullets sawed the air, tracer fire everywhere with thousands of bullets homing at the enemy. Keeping a favorable speed and number advantage gave the Dominion pilots now a high chance of success, and combined with missile fire kept them squarely in control of the air battle.

The H-6 bombers were able to get off, but quickly spotted by the AWACS craft circling above. Tomcats and Hornets were quickly ready by this time, shooting off the carrier deck as the sea battle raged. Ground-based F-1s were off after the Kuram-headed bombers as the carrier fighters moved to engage the naval-headed craft. The F-1s were experienced fighter craft, but the Hornets and Tomcats were more advanced, therefore, able to shoot off their missiles faster.

The 48 Hornets and Tomcats-2 squads of each in the air-volleyed off missiles fast. AIM-54 Phoenix long-range, high-speed AAMs were flying off the Tomcat racks, slamming through the sky towards the H-6s. The Hornets closed with AMRAAMs, both plane types switching to Sidewinders as the first volley of missiles, a hundred thick, flew towards the H-6s. The F-1s were doing their work, AIM-7 Sparrow and AMRAAM missiles flying eighty thick towards the H-6s as the F-1s closed.

Sea

The naval craft were now easily in range, gun and cannon fire all over as tracers lit up the sky, fire burning from ship corpses. Some missiles were able to have an effect from the enemies-several smashed into a Kongo-class destroyer, blasting into its forecastle, fire pluming from the destroyer. It wasn't dead, but most of its crew was, the ship sitting derelict in the ocean as black waves lapped at its fiery hulk. A Shirane DDH was smashed in its rear, a Seahawk trying to take off enveloped in flame.

Several missiles slashed past the destroyer and patrol craft group, slashing towards the frigates and carriers-but the frigates were faster. SM-1 short-range SAMs flashed through the air, gun and cannon fire all over the SSMs. They didn't last long in the crossfire and missile locks, shrapnel skipping over the ocean depths as the missiles were intercepted. It had been a valiant try, and one destroyer was damaged and another sinking as a result.

The submarines, however, were easily visable to the circling ASW helos-it was about to become a bloodbath of torpedoes. ASROCs slashed into the water from the destroyers as other torpedoes moved towards the remaining hostile missile boats, the ASROCs angling towards the Romeos. The Seahawks, circling above, started dropping Mk. 54 torps into the water, the fish quickly seeking targets easily in the massive conflagration going on.

The submarines as well had easy pickings-the Romeos were making far more noise than the quieter advanced Dominion subs. Mk. 54 torpedoes skid through the waters, aiming towards the Romeos as the subs kept switching positions, too close in now to avoid the conflict.

As the enemy torpedoes, dumb fired, moved forward, the carrier continued steaming away from the conflict, moving out in a wider circle. The torpedoes were going to miss the carrier no problem, especially as it dumped noisemakers-but one had a lucky streak. An Asagiri frigate escorting the carrier failed to get out of the way in time-and the torpedo slammed it amidships. The explosion was deafening, fire blazing up from the vessel's midsection as crew were thrown overboard, some on fire. The vessel was going down fast, water filling up, the ship cracking in half right down the middle.

DMZ

The ferocity of the charge was exciting, but not unanticipated-the Dominion had readied for something of the sort with so much of the Northern military concentrated in the South. The plan was simple now that the Northerners were upon them-let them come, and smash them to bits. The infantry and armor ranks seemingly collapsed, letting the Northerners move in. Casulties were sustained, APCs and tanks exploding under fire as weaponry was exchanged back and forth.

The lines fell back, creating pockets where the Northerners came in, killing and hacking apart Dominion troops. However, the second wave was coming in-F-5s re-armed for strike, AH-64 Apaches mounting the hilltops, and F-4 Phantoms blazing in with Maverick missiles and cluster bombs. The aerial assault was on as the armor and infantry lines re-formed a half-mile back, rounding on the oncoming Northerners.

Hellfire and Maverick missiles screamed towards the ground, hundreds of the missiles angling in on tanks and APCs of the enemy. The Amazonian infantry fell back to a series of machine gun pits, Minimis tearing bullets at the enemy. The tanks also came around amidst bullet fire from the Apaches, blasting kinetic sabot rounds at enemy tanks and HEAT rounds at APCs. The Dominion IFVs and APCs blasted MG fire at infantry, targeting any human that wasn't wearing the Dominion standard uniforms.

Diplomatic Message From: RS Cobalt
To: The Dominion of Amazonia

Sir we are on a UN mandated Mission to evacuate civilians and bring medical aide to the innocents of North Korea. This entire aide has come from the ports of Animarnia; you may confirm with them that we are brining in nothing more then, food, clothing, water and medicine nothing that could be considered assisting you enemy. You may confirm the fact that our freighters were empty when our vessels left their ports in Animarnia; we are no combatant ships on a UN, and Humanitarian mission. All refugees are being transported to Animarnia cities as they are the closest, where I assume they will not be attempting to resist the Dominion’s armies. All facts can be confirmed with your ally, and the members of the UN. As for your inspection I do not believe we can refuse, however we would remind you that every moment wasted is less innocent lives evacuated.

“Damn it!” The captain shouted as he walked around the deck, not only had the civilian “harvest” been particularly small but Jong Ill wasn’t coming, “finally growing some balls sir.”

A crewmen next to him looked tentative, “from what I’ve heard he had them most of the tim….”

“Quite, but perhaps now is not the time, he will not be joining us for this evenings fun unfortunately. Although we will be receiving two bombs, prepare a section of the hold for them.” The Captain waved of all those surrounding him away and concentrated on shouting at a North Korean women who was not used to the concept of a toilet. It would take some time, but perhaps invasion was the best thing for these people.

“Adam?” The marine captain came striding towards the captain, now only loosely holding his gear on his body. “I hear were taking two bombs aboard, and that we are being inspected, I now that isn’t my department but won’t they be a tad suspicious about the Geiger counter bursting into flames?”

The ship’s captain gave him an almost pitying look, “This was never about civilians, Lady Opplant does not care about some shit hole country, what she likes is profit, a nuclear bomb, the money from Jong Ill and the supposed reward money from Jong’s turn over to the Animarnia would have quite easily paid for this venture. Two nuclear bombs is all the better though does bring up the issue of security. We can hide one, we brought a lead container and can easily hide it in the ballast, no body will look there without a wet suit, that one should be very well kept. The other though we were not planning for… any ideas?”

“Well sir certainly we have more freighters mostly in Animarnia, perhaps they should pick it up a different location and move it back closer to the coast. The Dominion won’t muck about in Amarnian international waters, and they probably won’t be interrupting their own aide mission.”

“How many lead boxes do you think we carry?” The captain smiled though, it might work though is was a huge risk not having the help of radioactive protection. “That will probably have to do there should be a freighter up there anyway. Have Hanson send a message:”

We are confirming arrival of funds and will begin loading process, however there is one slight problem, the Dominion is going to inspect all our relief ships that they can get their hands on. For that purpose we must receive one of those bombs up the coast away and travel back through Animarnia national waters to avoid suspicion. If one package could be sent there we would receive it and be able to move it more secretly. The other we will except at our location now, along with your officers. Although we regret you shall not be joining us we shall carry out your wish, slightly unorthodoxly, but it shall be done. We are prepared for the off.

Signed:
CAL

Another freighter was being diverted to Anju up the coast where a set of coordinates implied another ship would be waiting. Hopefully everything would go as planned and Lady Opplant would have her profit.

OOC Ambrose, no need to Rp any of the permission to come aboard just load whatever you want on the ships, I can't stand the two line posts that come from boarding other's ships.

PyonGato-Bukto/50 Miles Outside Pyongyang

The Animarnian Advanced stopped over 3 points one north, one east and one south east of Pyongyang around 50 miles out just out of range of the defences rocket and Gun Artillery winding up ready for the attack. The Units were all spread out to avoid collateral damage should the North Koreans been stupid enough to attack with the lines having a healthy peppering of Armour, Infantry, Fast attack, Anti-Air and both Rocket and Towed/Mobile Gun artillery. Essentially it was a wall of death to whatever force from North Korea was stupid enough to come at them from Land or Air; Everyone knew Pyongyang was nicknamed 'Sam City' because of the heavy concentration of Surface to air missile launchers. Even though a majority of those had been taken care of by Dominion Artillery. At Airbases to the of the border just outside the PyonGato-Bukto 75 Q-5 Fantans took off from airbases laden for anti tank and anti ground work with a combination of General Purpose Air to Ground anti armour missiles and YJ-83 Air Launched Cruise Missiles. These were escorted by some 75 J-7 Airguards and some 60 odd J-8 Apollo's inbound on Pyongyang.

"Sir We Operation Sledgehammer has now been renamed Operation Foxtrot and we are in a Siege Warfare pattern" Lieutenant Steven Keffers reported to General Hammond who nodded his bald-head in acknowledgement. In All honestly General Ely Misawa the Director of Operations freaked all of the command staff out on a level no one could really talk about including the high ups.

Meanwhile the other 4 air fleets that had laid waist to North Korean Sam Defences along the border were turning back to base there ordinance expended and mission accomplished

Animarnia Royal Navy Battle Group Constellation
The Constie or Connie has it has been come to be known by its crew was now ready to launch another Sortie of F/A-17 Thunder Dragons; loaded this time with YJ-83 Air to Ground Cruise Missiles and P-12 and P-5 Air to Air Missiles. The Multi Role Fighters rocketed off the desk and formed up into a Delta V formation heading towards Pyongyang this time. The North Korean missile boats having been neutralised by their Dominion allies and Tomcat Counterparts. 60 F/A-17's were inbound.

Meanwhile with a path through the mine field now cleared 30 KA-28 Helixes took off from the decks towards Nam'po each loaded with 40 Animarnian Marines while LST's LPD's, LSM's and AAV's began the Amphibious assault on Nam'Po' over 76 Landing craft of various types. Delivering some 10,000 Marines; 28 Amphibious Tanks and nearly 100 Amphibious APC's and 122 amphibious self propelled Howitzers and 52 Mortar Carriers.

Border Towns
Meanwhile in border cities Aid trucks started to roll in escorted by EZ2050 armoured cars. The convoys came to a stop in the middle of town.

"We have Food and water; Please Form and orderly line and we will begin distributing Aid" one of the soldiers yelled into a megaphone with his assault rifle raised and several soldiers manned the heavy 50 Cal's on the armoured cars. This scene was repeated in most of the northern border towns as literally thousands of tons of aid flowed across the border.
